The final match of the Champions League contested between the top clubs from its respective association. This was the third final appearance for both clubs and their race to their second title. Mansanduni Union last won the title on the 15th edition. While Pescam Campuhan poses as the defending champion. It was a pretty intense match between the two giants, and it was ended with the victory for Mansanduni Union after the third goal that they scored. With this result, they lift up their second CMFA Champions League title after 6 editions.

The entry for the 22nd CMFA Champions League is ended by the closing of IFCF 21 cycle. Stadium bids for the final match are now being invited. Bidding is welcome to all stadiums seating a minimum of 25,000 spectators, bidding is encouraged to be detailed concerning amenities, features, et cetera. In the event that no bids are presented, the selection will default to the stadium that hosts the latest CMFA Mandalanusa Cup final.

The 51st season of the Benthim Championship has concluded. After Leithe Elbania's surprising victory last season they had followed it up with a very middling performance that would bore even the most avid football fan. Meanwhile, Mooresford East climbed back to the top of the mountain for the first time in twenty years. Led by a charismatic young midfielder named Edwin Vederspar they had held on to their grip on the top of the table until the bitter end. Mooresford East defender Lyle Gadrick had told the press "It feels amazing. Everyone around here had no hope to start this season. People kept talking about how those Knights were so good and we stood no chance. Showed those people huh?".

Cicillia Armory had captured a second place finish after one of the worst downfalls in the history of the league. After their league win in Season 33 they had fallen off a cliff, albeit archrivals Cicillia Pontosboro had relegated in that time the Armory had been at the bottom of the table for a long time. Then last season's surprising mid-table finish had culminated in a second place showing for the Armory. The bedrock of this change in fortune is Manager Thomas Fontel and an electric striker named Vincent Pontmorrow. Pontmorrow destroyed defensives with pace and power with a superb midfield led by Fred Tessent. Having a bright future almost seemed impossible after their last league win but hope shines bright.

Edentoro was historically the little brother of both Armory and Pontosboro in Cicillia. Recent events however had brought them on par with the other two clubs in Cicillia. While not achieving a title the form on display from the veteran-laden squad was excellent. Edentoro's front three this season consisted of mainly Bryan Hamlan, Reed Tannelsbury, and Gregory Delming. The trio had contributed the bulk of Edentoro's 88 goals. In the end of season press conference Manager Fred Millwell had a glowing review of the season: "Excellent performance from the attack all season long, fought hard the whole way through. We must improve our defensive structure of course but I feel we can build on this great season." Tannelsbury had chimed in noting "The next step is a title, I know it, Milly (Fred Millwell) knows it, the fans know it." Expectations as high as ever.

Gatesend Bleythe had a bit of a down year. Injuries to the defense ensured that they could never quite close the door on most clubs in the Championship. Frustration mounted when it became clear they could not contend with Mooresford East and Cicillia Armory. Captain and Right Midfielder Cason Berring had choice words after an injury sidelined him on the back half of the season: "It is incredible what they let people get away with. Absolutely incredible how this season has gone. I hate all of you today." Despite finishing in 4th the season felt like a total defeat for the club. Bleythe did have this happen before after they won their first league title which resulted in an eventual relegation. History could repeat itself if they are not careful.

After their historical three-peat and subsequent heartbreaking title loss to Mattling West. Mattling Central are in a bit of a limbo. They are good enough to compete but they do not have the edge they historically used to have. Not to mention two of their detested rivals in West and North are creeping up behind them again. This is a crossroads for the club. Benthim's long isolationist period is over and could yield opportunity for the club looking to repeat their historic achievements. Some of the old timers from the old Season 43 squad could go as well. The club haven't shied away from being cold to their players before.

Cicillia Pontosboro have finally stabilized after years of poor performances and a relegation. The once proud people of Pontosboro had been reduced to depression ladened husks up until this point. Thankfully with some new blood in the club they have a chance to get back to their golden days of contending at the top of the table. Mooresford Knights are a club trending the wrong direction just two years after their most recent league title. The sting of seeing Mooresford East of all clubs win the league is bad enough but the club also had to hear the words of Lyle Gadrick as well. Knights Attacking Midfielder Balton Ross minced no words: "Cowardly person he (Lyle) is. Couldn't talk on the field but had to get a word in after the season. We'll see about that this time next year".

While the lower half of the table doesn't have the same gripping stakes newly promoted club Tetherspear Athletic stayed in the championship with just 9 goals. An impressive but dubious feat. Darkwick Beach still lords over Darwick Borrough's unfortunate circumstances. Being the only club to spend one season in the championship only. Suthram Athletic are laser focused on next year because the hated Suthram Revolt are being promoted to the Championship. Benton-Havard are the dark horses for next year, seeing as they have performed valiantly in their little time in the Championship. Benton-Havard the city is no stranger to rich investors and now that they are in the championship...It could turn up incredibly well for the club.

Matchday One: Ephesian FC 2, Arlington City 2

There's lots to play for when the northeastern rivals face each other. Not only do they both boast lots of players with non-rhotic accents, but both have had periods of extreme success over the years. Ephesian are very much in such a period now, having won four of the last five seasons, and Arlington are not, having declined all the way to fourteenth in the past season--neutrals hoping for competitive balance will have to take what they can get. Plus, there's the fact that both these sides can claim to represent some of the more...eccentric...styles of the original national team, for better or for worse.

So when the season kicked off in Zwischen, it was a spirited affair. Stephen Marcus, who is still around, is attempting to prove that while he might not have much hair left he still can't be overlooked for the national team (to be fair, he never had any hair when he was young either), and made his case with a twelfth-minute goal, assisted by Chloe Flen-Willis. Fourteen minutes later, Kenneth Umric put the hosts up 2-0, and Arlington's Alma Kaidensky was sporting her serial-killer face. (I mean, the chill kind who writes manifestoes, not the kind who actively goes around killing people, her face just looks like that.)

Nevertheless, the visitors rallied in the second half, through newbies Annika Fletcher-Thrim and Topher McRauls. With the last few seasons they've been having, it makes sense why they'd want to play the kids. And you could be forgiven for asking whether their standards are that exacting--but rumor has it City was actually in the process of scouting a couple youngsters from Geeccles University and Universitaet Schwandt, which are part of our college system that definitely exists, and decided they weren't up to the challenge, only for the kids to take off to the Martin Luther club in Greater Sanford.

Anyway, spoils were shared with a half-point each, and the northeasterners got to experience the feeling--welcome in Arlington's case, less so in Ephesian's--of being tied. Spoilers: it won't last.

Matchday Four: Rovers United 1, Ephesian FC 1

Nuel, the "first and a half generation city," is one of those places that's big enough in baseball to host a WBC round of sixteen series (Drawkland defeated Banija on their way to a surprise run to the final), but not big enough in football to have its own franchise--and, of course, the franchise system means no promotion chances. So their fans have to wait until the Rovers come to town to get a taste of 1./ action. Fortunately, the Rovers are a good team, and Ephesian are very high caliber opposition right now, so they got a good show. Nicholas Palmetto's clever possession in the midfield beat out Harold Carre, and he assisted Nelson Avaunt on a goal in minute 56. Just seven minutes later, a booming header from Brian Spand-Maunk equalized for Ephesian. Roger Poughkeepsie thought he'd given the Rovers the lead in minute 81, but was offsides (more experienced players should know better, but normal offsides calculations can be tricky if you're not used to playing Ephesian). After four matchdays, Ephesian are the league's only undefeated side.

Matchday Twelve: Ephesian FC 1, Namiri Forest 1

This is kind of a one-sided rivalry, in that Ephesian sort of view Namiri Forest as their tactical mirror image--the karela to Ephesian's takil. Forest, on the other hand, are like "we already have a takilan counterpart rival, we don't need you," and no amount of pointing out that that was in the ancient times and they have long since gone their separate ways is going to change that.

This is also kind of one-sided in that Forest were eleventh last season, and weren't expected to make much of a splash. So when Brunnhilde Lavrans put the hosts on the board in the eighth minute, it seemed reasonable to expect more of the same to follow quickly.

Except it didn't. Forest aren't great at the whole "counterattacking" thing, they much prefer to retreat even further into defense and sulk, but after a regrettable foul from Prudence Hation, Bhola Salunkhe earned the dubious honor of "step right up for the penalty and don't miss because if you do you'll never live it down." Fortunately for the visitors, he didn't.

That still left the matter of defending against the sheepish, but not entirely deterred, hosts. Credit to Arissa Devi-Kami and Lobsang Pokhriyal, two of the latest tireless generation of Forest defenders, for rising to the challenge. (It may or may not help that Namiri Independent have been pretty evenly matched with their local rivals so far, if a lot less karelan; maybe having a true rival gives Forest something to aim for. Who really knows with them.)

Matchday Thirteen: FTC United 2, Ephesian 1

Off the back of that underwhelming performance, the capital team comes to the east side to take on FTC United. The Oxen were recently Challengers' Cup winners, and were runners-up to Ephesian last season, but they entered this match in eleventh place. The metaphor of a "hangover" might suggest itself. I mean, not to us, we're law-abiding citizens. Except it's the east side so who really knows.

Anyway. The point is, the Oxen rose to this occasion in fine style. Saomun Ajah, yet another indefatigable forward who manages to have the people skills to be a captain without being full of himself, and perhaps slightly unlucky to be stuck behind the ageless Marcus for national team duty, made his case with a goal in the fifteenth minute, assisted by Marsi Rutdit. Marcus himself equalized two minutes after halftime, but as the second half wound on, Sullivan Brecht and Gretchen Lavenza's defense began locking down possession, and the back-and-forth culminated in a goal for Gabriel Istibar in minute 82. A well-earned victory for FTC United, even if they have a long way to go if they want to challenge for IFCF places again.

Matchday Eighteen: Spenson Suburbia 2, Ephesian FC 1

Irene Roosevelt is one of those players who could be really good, but we have no way of knowing for sure. As described in Scallop's law, it's hard for defenders to make a name for themselves, because it's hard for their subjective contributions to be valued in the same way you can count an offensive player's goals. Roosevelt played for Spenson Suburbia when they were runners-up and had a good defense, five seasons ago. She got called up to the national team! She even got shortlisted by the Græntfjaller committees who put together the Testículos, or whatever it is they're calling themselves now! But, alas, fame is fleeting. Some of the Testículos winners were not officially announced, and others were relegated to discordant environments where you actually have to, like, socialize with people, and the Zwangzugian contingent was far too awkward to attend. So if she was ever officially awarded anything, we only heard about it long after the fact, by which time Spenson were mediocre again and her national team career had ended.

But she's still around domestically, and she's still good at changing up her style, which paid off in an impressive upset today! Ephesian had taken the lead in minute 19, through Umric. But Alyssa Velt-Nansen (who is also somehow still around, you would think she would have run out of pies to eat by now, but they keep baking more) tapped in a long pass from Haydon Lumigear in minute 51. And then, out of nowhere, there came Roosevelt, temporarily reinventing herself as a forward and giving the Suburbians a stunning lead. Her braggadocio knee-slide across the turf was probably too showy and performative, but you know what? Being a defender is hard work. Let her have this.

Matchday Twenty-Seven: Namiri Forest 2, Ephesian 1

Forest's revival was no flash in the pan; as the season runs down, there's a very close fight for the last IFCF spots, with lots of congestion and tiebreakers (particularly since we're down to two Champions' League places). In the end, Forest would narrowly miss out (although I guess their final goals for/against tally of 23-19 is memetic, if you like "Monsters Inc."), but not before they looked like world-beaters at home in Guariday. Granted, even when they score multiple goals it's still with this awkward "who us?" expression, but Mahua Isembard and Ejaz Vichare-Soni gave them a two-goal lead by the fifty-minute mark. Carre had a few sleek passes, but Ephesian's late "consolation" was really an errantly deflected own goal from Pokhriyal, to the irritation of Soumini Bano-Patil.

And those were the six matches in which Ephesian dropped points. They won the other twenty-four, to finish with an astonishing 25.5 points, something not even Bassabook in their undefeated season accomplished; we believe this to be a record.

[Aphrilia]

There is always a first time for everything.

For this particular season of the Aphrilian Ultra League, an influx of foreign players have been signed by the teams during the transfer window. This marks the first time it's been done so, and there's little doubt that it will happen again. Aphrilia is typically known for it's more slow paced build-up play and attacking "through the cracks", hence some of these players may thrive or struggle depending on how adaptive they can be. But with the level of domestic Aphrilian football still the distance below some of the better leagues out there, perhaps getting used to playing how this nation typically plays shouldn't be a problem. Team facilities are well maintained, hence training for them should be aplenty.

This season also marks the first time a few clubs will be changing their name. Typically when clubs change their name, it often ends badly. Maybe fans leave, the club loses it's identity that's been built up for so long, among other negative effects. But considering Aphrilians are immortal and many of these clubs aren't even a century or so old yet, changing yourself often happens in this society. Whether it be interests, dreams and hopes, or anything else. Hence, Axlerow United FC, a club that has often represented only one part of it's city will now represent all of it with the new name of Cheval Union. The same goes for Exterton SC, now under the new name of Blackgem City SC. Historically these two only chose their name because they're in the part of a certain city, but their management (With cooperation from NAFA) decided to change that now. We hope fans continue to support them.

This season will also mark the first time where new highs can be achieved and new lows will be found. New faces, new names, perhaps even new storylines. Well whatever "new" thing comes along the Aphrilian Ultra League, what's certain is that this new season has certainly brought the surprises.

Thank you to South Newlandia for helping scorinate this season.

The second season post-restructuring saw some new faces: most notably Mükiachou Revolutionaries, the first Sangauese team to compete in the highest tier of Yue domestic football in decades. But in the end, it was once again Royals to win the league, in addition to a shock victory at the CdC that represents the nation's first club silverware. With their closest rivals, Lithico-backed Beian Bats, gutted over the offseason (losing star striker Jia Luka Siski to Algolia and manager Jayson Herrera to "family matters"), Wu Zhenlin comfortably took home a fourth consecutive league title. With Royals solidifying their domestic dominance, Yuezhou now hopes that they'll at least be able to build off of their regional success and achieve new heights for the nation in club competitions like the Champion's League. But with star winger Dai Qiu and midfielder Zheng Haidong retiring after this season, it may be a bit of a transitional year for Royals instead. Whether any club can take advantage and snap the streak remains uncertain.

Home to CA Paulinthal, the most successful club in Pasarga, San Daros is a legendary stadium and among the older stadiums in the dual islands. It is located not far off the coast in the port city, which is a melting pot of a variety of cultures and backgrounds, with different languages heard all around the city and food found in it, particularly around the football stadiums like San Daros. The away locker room was built to be on the small size as a way to try to unnerve opposition players and the architecture of the stadium helps magnify the sound of the crowd, giving the feeling that there is more fans in the stadium that there actually is.

The República stadium is unanimously considered to be the cathedral of Terense football. Built during ATF season 1962 in the capital city of Tero al Disco, Tero al Disco, it has grown to get that status thanks to being the biggest stadium in the country by a long shot, as well as transforming itself into the spiritual home of the Terense national team.

In this WCQ roster post you'll find most of the points that are about to get addressed in this bid, including the fact that it's the only stadium considered to be fit for international standards, but it still may fall short of other stadiums bid in this thread (although that's no reason to make the match-going experience worse for fans). One positive thing about it is that it's still designed for a great atmosphere. Being in the shape of something of a pointy oval, since it also features a track, as it was built to also host athletics events, it has one fully terraced stand, as the other ones have a terraced bottom tier, and a seated top tier, which always makes for an electrifying atmosphere for big matches, where you can see 60 thousand people jumping and moving around. Some Terense engineers, executives and fans have suggested that it be turned into an all-seater, but whoever's in charge of it have refused, for the same reasons I mentioned in the sentence before.

Due to the league being closed to teams outside Tero al Disco Capital for 100 years, the "big 2" in Tero al Disco, Gimnasia y Bala and Nacional Terense, as well as the "best of the rest" are all located in or around the capital, so that's how it always hosts the big fixtures. The Estadio de la República is located in the center of Tero al Disco city, opposite the runway of the Renato di Bernardino International Airport and a 15 minute bus ride from the Plaza de los Jacarandás, which is considered to be the center point of the city itself. Note that Tero al Disco (city) does not feature a metro/underground system, with a sizable amount of its citizens commuting and moving around in its (mediocre) bus system that extends throughout the city's conurbation.

Copa Rushmori de Campeones: Estadio Mundialista del Sur, Caamaño (Capacity 33.151)
The Estadio Mundialista del Sur "Candelario Gómez", colloquially shortened to just the Mundialista or Mundialista de Caamaño, was built by a wealthy Caamaño businessman to try and host NT games, during ATF season 1933. That businessman's name was Candelario Gómez, although the stadium wouldn't receive Candelario's name until years later. Despite being bigger than the stadiums from the Capital in which matches were traditionally played (with a capacity of 37.735 standing fans), the ATF gave more preferrence to the Capital teams, and especially with República being built later on, the Mundialista del Sur only hosted a few games in decades. It features three fully terraced stands and one fully seated stand.

As a rule of thumb, there are no underground systems to be found anywhere in the country, but any decent city will have a healthy bus system where citizens may go around. The Mundialista isn't located smack in the centre of Caamaño, unlike many of the top stadiums in Tero al Disco, but rather in the suburbs, a 20-minute ride away from its main church; churches are normally used as a reference point to talk about a point zero in almost every Terense city or town, that's why it's mentioned.
