It’s not Christophobia. Christophobia does not exist in the United States on a large scale. It is just anti-hatred, which is the most Christian thing I can think of.

EDIT: a correction that hatred is not Christian (though I do risk falling into “No True Scotsman” here), but rather than being peaceful and against hatred here. Christ died on the cross and was persecuted, and even at the point of death chose peace and love over hatred.

In fairness to Etwepe's point, there certainly has been a rise in anti-Christian and anti-religious sentiment these past few years. But that's for a different thread, I'd say.

Not to the extent that Christian holidays are being "overshadowed" by LGBT ones, as Etwepe implied. Such sentiments stem from the systemic injustices that can (but not inherently, of course) be perpetuated by religion and religious institutions. However, it has never been the objective of the LGBT community to undermine days of tolerance, no, that's a job for radical conservatives.

Except there is no point. This is all nonsense. It's like saying Christians are being oppressed because Christmas happens during Hanukkah sometimes, and getting mad at the President for wishing someone a happy Hanukkah as though he invented the holiday just to spite Christmas.

Not systematically at the government level. It’s anti-theists, who constitute a minority of atheists and have no political power due to the fact that there’s still a large majority of the American population. Anti-Christian sentiment is based around the multiple scandals and is perfectly reasonable. It’s pretty similar to how the anti-Christian sentiment of the Protestant Reformation was reasonable — there’s problems with the structure of the Church.

Unlike Easter, Transgender Day of Visibility is on the same date every year. So why is it the LGBTIQ+ community's problem that Easter coincides with it?

If Christians can't learn to share, they should pick a consistent date for Easter - I doubt Jesus was crucified on a different day each year...

It's specifically made so that it falls on a Sunday.

I detest holidays where the date is different every year because stuff like this always happens. I know the date is based on the Hebrew calendar, but still.

I'm speaking out-side of the context of holidays. I do not see it that Biden's observance of the transgender holiday was a jab against Christianity.

Nope. It is not anti-Christian nor anti-religious in the same way that the declining power of Russia is not anti-Russian. The decline of a religion is not anti-religious. There’s plenty of atheists that are tolerant of religion.

It's not necessarily equating atheism with anti-religion so much as it is correlating the two. I think it's fair to say that with the decline or Russian influence, there's certainly been a rise in anti-Russian sentiment. Similar goes for Christianity and religion as well.

The declining importance of Christianity on the world stage due to the rise of atheism among younger generations isn't solely indicative of growing anti-Christian or anti-religious sentiment. While it's not unheard of, the distinction here is that socially progressive beliefs can and often lead to more secular stances, which isn't inherently negative. The usage of "anti-Christian and anti-religious sentiment" in this context doesn't necessarily signify disdain for the faith itself. Rather, it's a disagreement with how the faith has been manipulated by intolerant ideologues to promote and perpetuate a culture of intolerance in society. It's no secret that Christianity has (and is still) been used to push homophobic and transphobic beliefs.

I think the timing is rather poor taste and it reeks of tokenism given that there's already "pride month" for this sort of virtue signalling, but whatever, it doesn't really affect me.

Ultimately it's just another desperate attempt by a failing President to shore up approval from a base that he knows he only has tepid support from. A year from now he won't be President and this won't matter.

You think there are more anti-Russians now then at the height of the Cold War when the Soviet Union was at its peak? Okay, I disagree.

People think that there’s a rise in anti-religion because you can’t do stuff because the Bible said so. That’s secularism, which is not anti-religious. The rise of secular atheism is not correlated to the rise of institutionalized anti-religious sentiment. I understand what you are saying, but it is far different from the conspiracy theory that the government is controlled by some communists who want to destroy the Christian heritage that America totally has. Christianity is declining, that doesn’t mean the government is anti-religious.
