Also OOC: Chancery is embassy grounds, as an HAI video mentioned at least once.
All chanceries are to be located in the city of Prosperidad. We can currently guarantee multiple locations less than a kilometer walk West of downtown and less than a kilometer walk Northwest of Capitol Hill. Said locations will most likely be less than six stories tall and will have, at most, two layers of basement, but vary in size as necessary to meet local needs. Despite sharing walls with other buildings, the walls are rienforced and soundproofed.
Ambassadors-at-large may utilise residential units in Downtown Prosperidad, although said suite won't count as a chancery. Particularly small embassies may also rent office space in Downtown, and will enjoy the protections of a chancery while doing so, but they will not be permitted to keep automobiles.
Diplomatic immunity rules:

Spouses and children of an ambassador have diplomatic immunity extended to them. Our databases are unable to recognise marriages with more than 256 total participants, and we refuse to recognise involuntary marriages, but we'll recognise any other foreign marriages of diplomatic/consular personell, and diplomatic immunity will be extended to spouses. In addition, children of an Ambassador or Consular-General will have immunity extended to them until eighteen years of age.
While we can't force you to waive immunity, we urge you to do so in the case of incidents involving a motor vehicle causing injury or death. Being arrested will save you from lynch mobs, and it will minimise public hatred of the country you represent.
Failure to be present for a trial pertaining to murder or vehicle offenses will likely result in persona non grata status.
Juansonian forces will not enter a chancery or consular office unless invited or allowed entry by the nation which controls said embassy or consulate.
All weapons and vehicles must be declared in an embassy application form, unless you are hiring local security forces.
Security staff limited to 60, and may not exceed the total amount of non-security personnel
Security is permitted the following weapons types with only standard restrictions:
- knives, under 1 foot in length. May be fixed-blade, manual pocketknife, automatic, or a gravity/inertia opening system.
- Batons (collapsible or fixed)
- Swords, sabres, and rapiers, which can be wielded somewhat effectively with one hand
- spears, staff, taiaha, and similar weapons
- archery gear which can easily be carried

Vehicles: Juansonia has regulated personal automobiles in a manner comparable to a ban. An exemption will be granted for ambassadors, consul-general, and security vehicles, but all other staff must use non-automobile transportation. Said drivers must apply for, and earn, a Juansonian driver's license. Even with an exemption, driving may be very inconvenient, so it is recommended that embassies and consulates keep bicycles on site for official use. All ambassadors, Consular officers, and embassy staff/employees will receive unlimited-use transit passes for the city their office is located in. Automobile and security parking will, in most arrangements, use a shared lot protected by Departamento de Policía de Prosperidad.
vehicles may be lightly armored, but obvious heavy armor is likely to be denied. Turrets are right out.
Juansonia may deny an embassy request for any or no reason, and is obliged only to indicate denial after evaluation is complete.
If an ambassador, officer, or staff member is declared persona non grata, if a chancery or consular office is deemed unwelcome, or if diplomatic relations are deemed unwelcome, immunity and location soveriegnty will remain for the following durations, assuming near-instant communication and multiple flights per day:
- One Persona Non Grata - 24 hours
- Over half of diplomatic staff (total or in one chancery or office) deemed persona non grata - 48 hours
- Full staff of one location deemed persona non grata - 60 hours
- Full dissolution of diplomatic relations - 72 hours
