The unprecedented eight-day competition is still days away, but the thrum of activity here at Lake Taga is already palpable. The competition is to take place here on a thousand hectare range, encompassing the western shoreline and a massive, forested nature preserve south of the lake. Engineering teams from three Grande Écoles Militaire -- Armee Royale's Aleki Kyoko, Marine Royale's Kimo Yaguruma and the Gendarmerie's Yotsu Oni Kashiwa have all submitted robotic battlemechs to the competition, and have arrived a few days early to set up and fine-tune their equipment on-site. Expected to join them are numerous teams from other nations, due to arrive over the weekend. With the first round of qualification matches to take place next Friday, international flights from all corners of Esvanovia are expected to arrive at Taga City in the coming days. Here's what that competition should look like:

Day 0: (Thurs.) Tech Audit Day - All teams competing must have their robotic battlemechs on site and ready for safety inspection by Game Marshals.
Day 1: All teams qualify for technical functionality, dry run all systems. Teams have final opportunities for drone overflights of the Lake Taga Range before competition.
Days 2-6: Robotic battlemechs must survive in the field unaided by human intervention. Day & night live fire combat conditions until only two mechs remain.
Day 7: Final round - last two surviving teams have six hours to repair & rearm, final match to take place on manmade île de Bonne Chance, with the winner declared by combat to the death!

Tomorrow, this reporter will be conducting live interviews with the three Marquesan teams as they finalize their preparations. The Wanderer will continue to monitor the developments here at Lake Taga, and inform the reader as foreign teams arrive.

This evening, the Paramount Leader announced his intent to send a team to participate in the Mech Royale hosted within Marquesia.

This announcement signals the first occurrence of a Neo-Korean team participating in any organized sport within the last 30 years, and leads many to wonder if this signals a change in the manner Neo-Korea deals with international events.

The Neo-Korean team supposedly to be lead by an individual from the Ministry of Robotic Technological Development, the first time the Ministry has been able to display any of its attempts at innovation on a wide-scale.

While we do not know what they will create, we do know that it will adequately represent the national will, the same as all great machines and innovations have.

Urbani Raid SynTek HQ in Fraud Probe

Last Saturday, officers of the Urbani financial crime division raided the head office of SynTek SOL, a subsidiary of chemical industry giant Frenesi, amid ongoing investigations regarding serious fraud claims. It is claimed that Helena Giss, CEO of SynTek, falsely reported business results and profit outlooks in order to attract increased investment from foreign stakeholders as the synthetic iron research project was overrunning cost estimates by a significant margin. Although SynTek successfully synthesised a kilogramme of iron last month, the cost of the project is estimated to have been several orders of magnitude above the important metal's current market price.

According to our sources, five Urbani investigators searched the offices of several members of the SynTek board, as well as that of the CEO, removing several hard drives containing business data as well as E-Mail records and contracts. The Urbani financial crime division for the province of Corvenna did not respond to our request for an interview, referring instead to the press statement issued on Sunday. In the statement, the FCD confirms that a search of the SynTek offices in Anima had taken place and that a number of individuals had been questioned. Amid the news of the scandal, Senator Anna Augusta, leader of the Aquilinia Superior group in the Senate, has called for a full Senate investigation into foreign investments into Aquilinian corporations, warning that foreign actors could attempt to take credit for Aquilinian technological and scientific advances, as well as exploit Aquilinian manufacturing capabilities to further their own goals. Consul Zoé Metelli (PLA) refuted these claims, reiterating the importance of international trade and cooperation for the prosperity of the economy, as well as Aquilinian industry's continued reliance on imported raw materials.

Azure-Nachmerean Treaty Signed

In a move that will likely shape the economics and geopolitical situation of Nachmere and the inner sea, His Royal Majesty’s government, together with the Keter Ha’Hof Port Company, Nachmeriya Port, and Royal Nachmerean Rail, have signed a historic deal with the government of Azura. The 85 billion USD deal includes not only economic articles, but is combined with a diplomatic treaty of nonaggression and security co-operation.

In addition to a 10 billion USD purchase of the port facilities (jointly owned by the Keter Ha’Hof Port Company and Keter Ha’Hof County), Azura will invest 50 billion USD in upgrading the port, railways and roads along the “Goods Corridor” - in the first five years alone. Azura will also contribute 25 billion USD over the ensuing 25 years - all to maintenance of Nachmerean infrastructure. With future plans of a trans-continental ultra-speed rail system, this investment will help make Nachmere a centerpiece in continental transport and trade.

On the diplomatic side of things, the government sees the agreement as a further building block in a policy aimed at peace by trade. This enemy continues to send "missionaries" into the Kingdom of Sombreland in order to spy on our Kingdom. These "missionaries" come in the disguise of religious, peaceful persons who want to spread the pernicious doctrine of Christianity, a doctrine that undermines the caste system and proposes that all persons are created equally under one God, a foreign God that does not acknowledge the divine ancestry and harmony of Sombreland.

According to the Directorate of Foreign Affairs, this doctrine is simply a veneer when it comes to Aurumterran-Sombreandian relations. Centuries ago, Aurumterra took territory from Sombreland, and, it is feared, will do so again. The Yoral-Andur Region of Sombreland, the Five Provinces, and the Blavist Territory are all parts of the Kingdom that are rich in resources such as timbers and minerals, and are believed to be greatly coveted by the government in Aurumterra.

Prince Shaladew Kadav, speaking as Minister of the Left and Minister of Death, said that the Royal Government, headed by the Princess-Regent, Alavaine, has no intention of war with Aurumterra. The objective of the military exercises, he said, is a demonstration of capability, not of intention towards war. It is a demonstration that border forces and bases near the frontier are capable of defending the Kingdom of Sombreland's interests.

Once again, the squabbling between the similar-in-all-but-religion and ruler states of Aureumtetta and Sombreland have begun their natural cycle of military posturing phrased as demonstration, begetting a question in the minds of all those not impressed by the inherent barbarity exhibited by these powers in their parlor-equivalent of diplomacy: Why does Neo-Korea continue to give such powers the time of day?

As the powers of Nordurland, in a true exhibition of their spiritual and moral weakness, fight with words that possess no strength and armies that hold no resolve, we must turn to the true matter of import in this occurrence behind the granting of day; the politics of the homeland itself.

I speak, of course, of the continued and ongoing relationship between ICON, lead for some time now by the Marquesan-Superethnos influenced nation of Sombreland, and Neo-Korea, by right still the true bayonet of Pan-Hiakemirism.
By right, of course, because it has failed to exhibit the true expression of the Hiakemiran Superethnos through its actions in association with the globalist cabal of monarchical figures controlling several world institutions including ICON at this point.

Neo-Korea does not and has not required its relations with these powers, it’s petty trade or minor diplomatic communications between the devils influenced by Marquesan simply acting as a showing of the lack of respect the modern state has for the ideals of Great Predecessor Osamu and Karamizo Frylov alike.

What insult remains to be exhibited to these ideals, now that Neo-Korea has diverged so horridly from them?

This comes more than a week after Sombreland suddenly began military exercises on the border between the two countries. A statement from a spokesman for the Imperial Army General Staff described the mobilization as "As a defensive measure to keep the Empire and its Holy Sovereign realm protected from any potential foreign aggression." This move follows a diplomatic protest issued by HIM’s Foreign Ministry to the Embassy of Sombreland, demanding an explanation for these sudden exercises and calling for them to cease. Defense giant to provide over 18 billion USD in arms

Nachmere's largest defense contractor, Schwerpunkt, has concluded another lucrative deal in the international arms market. The Kingdom of Sarda has chosen several Nachmerean systems for service with its military, strengthening both economic and diplomatic ties with Nachmere.

Sarda is to purchase over three hundred Nachmerean jets, including one hundred of the extremely capable 5th generation F-36 Panter, and over two hundred of the FT-21 trainer jets (that have just recently fully replaced former types in the Royal Airforce). It is not unreasonable to assume that this purchase will also strengthen relations between the air forces of both countries, and perhaps lead to the purchase of other Schwerpunkt offerings such as air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions optimized for these aircraft.

In addition to the aircraft, Sarda has procured the right to produce the flight II Tehila destroyer. Schwerpunkt will provide all the needed information and assist in production of the ships. The Tehila is the most powerful surface combatant in the Royal Navy, capable of engaging dozens of air and surface targets at long ranges simultaneously. As with the aircraft, it stand to reason the purchase will be followed by putting some Nachmerean ship launched munitions into service, although it is also possible that the Sardians will modify the design to carry their own missiles.

Though Schwerpunkt is privately owned, many experts asses that Nachmere gains much in terms of geopolitics by being able to sell weapons to friendly nations. This not only tightens relations, but will allow greater commonality in case of joint operations in the future, thus increasing the likelihood of military alliances and co-operations with these countries.

Sombreland-Anagonia Alliance Talks

GALADOR, Sombreland-- In spite of an increasingly threating posture from the Empire of Auremterra, which has refused to stop sending spies disguised as "Christian missionaries" into Sombreland, in preparation for who-knows-what, the Royal Government is undaunted in its determination to defend its subjects and territory.

Recent developments in ICON strengthen Sombreland's morale. In the words of the Minister of the Left and Minister of Death, Prince Shaladew Kadav, "An attack on one ICON member is an attack on all, the view of the Secretary-General and the body as a whole." Furthermore, the Princess-Regent, Alavaine, is currently meeting with President Mileethus of Anagonia to discuss upholding of the alliance with that nation. In other words, Sombreland will not merely defend the Kingdom, its boundaries and its people, but will also call in alliances for support if need be in the event of any armed conflict.

However, the general desire for the Princess-Regent's government is determined to have peace if it can be gained with honour. The offer of Queen Analai VII to mediate is welcomed. The Princess-Regent, Alavaine, has formally indicated her acceptance of the proposal from the Queen of Sarda to mediate between the Kingdom of Sombreland and the Empire of Aurumterra concerning border security issues.

On the other hand, one should be more sensitive about national pride in other cultures and not engage in pointless cultural chauvinism and provocation."

The implication there was that sending some missionaries to Sombrelandwas one thing, but that perhaps Auremterra had overdone it of late. Garza, of course, is a secular state, albeit traditionally Christian and heavily Roman Catholic. It also used to be a monarchy until 2008, when it had its "Monday Revolution," on 28 April of that year, followed by the nasty bloodbath of "Martes Rojo" the next day. The present Socialist administration is admittedly one that has little sympathy for monarchies or traditional state religions of any kind, being leftist and republican in orientation.

Even so, Carrillo indicated that he was sincere about being willing to be "an impartial broker" in serious negotiations over any "outstanding issues between both countries, provided that they dial down the rhetoric and military brinksmanship that threatens the stability of this region." It must be inferred, naturally, that he had the full blessing of President Daniel Serrano and the other senior members of his government for this proposition, given that he wasn't rebuked or dismissed, at least not as of this report.

I think that I speak for many Garzans in saying, "my sentiments exactly." This kind of bombast from both monarchies needs to de-escalate and fast. Mature, rational statesmen do not behave like this constantly. Children do on a playground. Go home, Sombreland and Auremterra. You're drunk and the rest of us don't wish to be bystanders or victims of another destabilizing regional war.

This morning, the Paramount Leader announced the movement of the Northern State Army (Hokubushū-gun) to Anagonia, to participate in an training exercise with “…one of Neo-Korea’s historically crucial allies.”

The Northern State Army was officially given its departing ceremony in the crucial Northern Port of Hǎishēnwǎi, with the State Army planning to move through the sea-lane between Meridon and Havenwalde to reach the southernmost portion of the landmass owned by Anagonia, where it will go northwards to the planned training location.

The Paramount Leader surprisingly made no mention of the Kaskaidan state to any extent, neither noting the forces closeness to them or attempting to calm concerns that may be raised over their presence.

This action marks the first major joint-training operation between the two nations since the Korean Democratic State’s own in the lead-up to the War, which would strand soldiers in that area in-time for fighting to break out with the Marquesans on all corners of the world.

This action comes on the heels of the Paramount Leader’s planned visits to both Azura and Darlingtown within the coming months, and as such to some extent shows the increased diplomatic interaction notable of Neo-Korea since the end of the Frylov period.

Defense Minister Jose Luis Guzman announced today that the entire reserves of the Garzan People's Armed Forces have been "called up for active-duty due to heightened regional tensions that require more combat readiness for national security." The process of mobilizing these troops could take several days, of course, to complete, but in the meantime, the costs will be increased and it is likely to make various nations nervous. Even so, it is clear that the dangers of not elevating combat alertness to a higher status are greater than of keeping the status quo, since so many powerful foreign countries are on higher levels of combativity.

While there have been no foreign deployments, at least not yet, all leaves have been canceled, all military, air, and naval bases are at maximum security levels, more naval and air exercises have been ordered, and the greatest number of naval vessels and aircraft have been dispatched to patrol the outer reaches of territorial waters. President Daniel Serrano is expected to make a "national tour of inspections and review" of all military bases, along with General Oscar Duran, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Silvio Pereda, Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Air Vice-Marshal Armando Silvestri, Chief of Air Force General Command, and Vice-Admiral Hernan Vasco de Saldivar, Chief of Operations Command of the Navy. While the official catalyst was not disclosed, it was not exactly rocket science to determine the motives for such a military review.

It was telling that Foreign Minister Jorge Carrillo repeated his call for negotiations between Sombreland and Aurreumterra, adding that, "nations that continue to shake their fists at each other over relatively minor differences of faith and creed do themselves no credit or favors. We believe that their disputes are quite negotiable, if they are actually willing to negotiate in good faith. That, however, remains to be seen in terms of their motives, and can only be judged in light of their actions. We remain willing to host talks, as apparently is Nachmere. That's at least two countries willing to act in the cause of peace, for which we applaud Nachmere, I might add. It would behoove both potential belligerents to set aside their petty quarrels and seek the greater good of Man, the brotherhood and sisterhood of nations."

Suffice to say that I cannot add anything to this but to fully concur. If only all national leaders were as careful and considerate of the welfare of their people. The kind of reckless brinksmanship between one power that seems eager to send missionaries at any cost to forcibly convert people and another that is determined to keep their own state cult and oppressive social order going at any cost is truly stomach-churning in terms of causing nauseating anxiety and revulsion. Stop squabbling like children, or no more adults' table for either of you, mi amigos. As my abuela would once tell me, it's for their own good.

For the sake of us all, let's hope that cooler heads prevail.

"Five minutes to Midnight": Imperium makes concerted effort to avert war in Esvanovia
With the situation rapidly deteriorating between the Empire of Aureumterra and Kingdom of Sombreland, the Fangthane Palace appeals for calmer heads to prevail

WHAT started as a tit-for-tat series of diplomatic moves between the begrudged neighbours on the continent of Nordurland in Northwestern Esvanovia has rapidly escalated into the very realistic prospect of all-out conflict. The accusations began from Galador, which claimed that Aureumterran state agents were crossing the border as missionaries, with the intention of destabilising the very intricate social balance that exists under Sombreland's caste system. Potens rebuffed their protests, responding by mobilising their forces along the expansive land border between the two nations, pointing to recent military exercises held by the Sombreland Armed Forces as a clear sign of pretext for conflict. While the Princess-Regent's government says it is committed to a peace, neither side has as of yet shown any willingness to back down.

This has triggered a quick chain reaction across the Esvanovian geo-political sphere, with multiple nations - such as the Sarda Kingdom, the Democratic Republic of Garza and the Kingdom of Nachmere - calling for peace talks, though at the same time beginning to steel themselves for the prospect of a very real conflict. Garza, for example, has called up its entire military reserve for active service in light of the recent tensions.

While the recent spat was ignited by religious tensions, there are growing fears from within the Sombreland government that the Emperor of Aureumterra might be preparing to lay claim to the border provinces which once belonged to his empire. These provinces - the Yoral-Andur, Five Provinces and Blavist Territories - are all rich in mineral resources. While the court of Frederik IV has refuted such concerns, many international policy experts have noted that controlling these provinces would provide a closer land bridge to the outlying Aureumterran island of Fønen, which has been beset by a native insurgency for the past few decades, seeking independence from Potens. In response, Frederik has pursued a near "total war" policy in order to root out the insurgents, which has led to multiple claims of human rights violations and widespread acts of state brutality being carried out on the island.

All of this puts the Fangthane Palace into a particularly difficult situation, not least of all because the prospect of conflict between the two nations would see the Imperium's allies on both sides of the war. On Aureumterra's side, there has been increased talk of alliances being forged with the Marquesan Imperium and the Empire of Ghant; on Sombreland's, both the Confederate States of Anagonia and the Evenguard of Azura are longstanding allies from the International Coalition of Nations (ICON). While the Kingdom recently withdrew from the Alliance, it's understood that the Confederate States and Evenguard are still likely to come to its defence. Such a conflict would destabilise the entire region and threaten the security of the Provincia of Cathalina-Magea, an otherwise quiet and idyllic corner of the Imperium Antiquum. Such need to commit to the increased defence of an outlying province would come at an inopportune time, in light of the worsening military situation closer to home in Varathron and Gholgoth.

"It genuinely feels like we're reaching five minutes to midnight," a civil servant in the Ministry of Foreign and Imperial Affairs told us, under the understanding of anonymity, "and now this is just the cherry on top of a rather sticky pudding. We cannot afford to see a "total war" scenario unfold in Esvanovia, not now." Their face showed the seriousness to which this was being stated. At a time when the Imperium Antiquum is staring down the prospect of a "total war" of its own, it cannot afford to see another unfold on the other side of the world between some of its own close allies.

But not all hope is lost: the Evening Review understands that the Ambassadors of the Imperium Antiquum in both Galador and Potens have, under the direction of the Fangthane Palace, made significant overtures in an attempt to bring both sides to the negotiating table. It's believed that the Palace is optimistic it can bring both sides together, in light of the Imperium's historic ties and friendly contemporary relations with both nations. It's understood that the Pro Consul of Cathalina-Magea has already been instructed to prepare for hosting the prospective talks.

Officially, the Fangthane Palace is keeping a tight lid, releasing only this brief statement on the matter: "Her Celestial and Imperial Majesty wishes to see no blood spilt across Nordurland, for both the Kingdom of Sombreland and Empire of Aureumterra are her Imperium's sworn friends. A military confrontation between Sombreland and Aureumterra is "highly likely", according to the MDF Chief of Defense Staff John Argus, in light of increased buildup on both sides of the border and reputed diplomatic failures being unable to remedy the situation. The Meridonian Defense Forces have upgraded their alert condition to Defense Readiness State 3 in the light of "these and other emergent threats".

"The Defense Forces, as always, are equipped and prepared to defend Meridon, her allies, and her interests;" Chief Argus stated during a press conference scheduled on the upgrading of the Defense Readiness State to its current level. "We are coordinating with our allies within the International Coalition of Nations and outside of it to provide for such, and to ensure the safety of Meridonians at home."

Aureumterra and Sombreland, nations that rest across the Anagonian Ocean from Meridon, are at a head over a historical territorial dispute generations in the making. Particularly, Aureumterra is believed to desire the capture of a number of strategic territories and provinces held by Sombreland that would connect it to its outlying and oil-rich Fønen territory, which has a history of insurrectionist action that the empire has had difficulty suppressing in the past. Aureumterra's military numbers in at 5 million in strength, compared to an estimated Sombrish strength of 150,000, which would put the odds at over thirty-three to one in Aureumterra's favor. Though Sombreland's military is well organized and equipped, its reliance on caste-based recruiting is prohibitive to sustained replenishment of losses, and its leadership is likely selected by lineage and station rather than merit.

"This insular and, quite frankly, archaic method of providing for its military is likely a nail in the coffin for Sombreland;" said Oliver Wixley, a senior fellow at the Orient Strategic Institute, a Meridonian defense think tank. "The sheer numerical advantage faced by Sombreland will likely overwhelm it, and its isolation from the International Coalition of Nations will further complicate its defense. Though Anagonia and Azura have committed to its defense, the scale that will be in country in the first week will be critical and will decide the fate of Sombreland as an independent nation or a suzerainty of Aureumterra- a factor that is further complicated by the Thonist front's superstition to foreign involvement. This war will drag Sombreland's society kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century, win or lose."

Should war break out between the two, it would be one of the deadliest conflicts in Esvanovia since the Great War some eighty years ago, and will require Meridon and others in the region to navigate it carefully to prevent its escalation into a larger regional war. Defense Forces officials have not commented on specific figures regarding official estimates for Sombreland's defense. Despite its departure from the International Coalition of Nations, President Acton has promised that Meridon will "stand by" Sombreland should it be attacked, a statement that was likely to be intentionally vague. Debate is currently ongoing within the Senate on making proclamations of aid to Sombreland, where consensus has yet to be found on many party lines.

9 Carrier Task Group, centered around the aircraft carrier Cordelia and her escorts, is currently sailing towards Sombreland from the Northern Sea after a port call in Neo-Korea, where the task group is expected to conduct a freedom of navigation exercises around the island of Fønen and from there between the straits separating Ghant and Aureumterra. MDF reserve forces have been partially manned in the event of the outbreak of war as well. There are some unconfirmed rumors from sources within the MDF of movement of tactical aircraft to MAB Adava, located in the Sarda Kingdom, however these have not been addressed by the Defense Forces.

OPINION: Finish What Began In 1060 The Kingdom of Sombreland Is a Relic of a Bygone Time, It is Overdue to Finally Meet Its End Sjurdur Mikkelsen, July 15th, 2023 IN 1060, His Most Divinely Elect Imperial Majesty, Cnut I, was elected by God to form an eternal bridge between heaven and earth through his bloodline. The Lord’s favor and his will allowed him to, against all odds, unite entirety of Western Nordurland under one banner, and expel the ancient animist Sombre Kingdom to across the Great Gray Mountains. But this Eastern realm was never truly vanquished. While the part West of the mountains became part of the Empire, the Kingdom remained existent in the East. It has constantly maintained its presence on the Western frontier of the realm, a hermit kingdom closed off from the rest of the world. As the ages progressed, all of the world progressed along with time, yet this Kingdom remained nearly unchanged as it was. If we look here today, nearly a millennia since then, it is disturbingly remarkable how little has changed in that realm. The subjects of the Kingdom of Sombreland continue to live under a primitive rigid caste system informed by animist philosophies of "harmony." What this entails in practice, however, can be seen today in this backwater kingdom. All positions in the Kingdom are solely based on the caste one is born into. If one is fortunate enough to be born into the high castes of Sombrish society, they would enjoy a life of modern amenities and luxuries that we expect from the twenty-first century. However, it is visibly for anyone visiting this kingdom that for the majority of the population which is not in the top castes, life may as well be the way it was in the year 1060. The economy of the kingdom, itself only recently industrialized, has evidently not caught up to modern times, and hardly at all for those in its lower castes. Electricity, clean running water, even clean living conditions are a luxury only for those born into it. For those who are not, the majority, they lead a miserable medieval existence which they are unable to escape from unless they leave the country - itself difficult without the money or resources to do. These people are fed lies by their animist rulers, the upper castes headed by their Princess-Regent, Alavaine, that their misery is merely a part of the harmony of the kingdom. A morbid irony of their primitive system is also that their armed forces are extremely small. Military service is considered a privilege, not a duty, only reserved for those born into the military caste. The rest of society is barred from the military of the Kingdom. It is no secret that the Imperial Army, even a fraction of it would be able to make this ancient kingdom fall to its knees in a matter of days, much like how HMDEIM Cnut I did in that fateful year, 1060, once again. Their recent diplomatic posturing, the rise of the cult of Thon, and capture of Christian missionaries whose only crime was spreading the word of God through the benevolence of our Hæstirétt to these persecuted people may as well be seen as a sign from Providence that it is time, at last, for HMDEIM Frederik IV to finish what HMDEIM Cnut I began, in finally ending this primitive, oppressive kingdom entirely. With these circumstances, a neighboring nation with a primitive system, and an oppressed population that yearns for the benevolent guidance of the Hæstirétt, and a weak military, it should be a duty of any moral leader, let alone the Hæstirétt himself to end their suffering and finally bring all of Nordurland under the realm of Aureumterra, as it was always destined to be. If HMDEIM the Hæstirétt fulfills this duty, rather than just stopping at the Five Provinces or the border regions, then His name shall go down among the likes of HDEIMs Niels III, Gustav I, and even Cnut I himself. Fulfilling what began a millennia ago at long last.

Keter Ha'Hof - The 20th Destroyer Surface Action Group has left Nachmerean waters and is deployed in a "forward stance" say sources in the Royal Navy. The group is now "conducting freedom of navigation and sea lane patrol activities in the Inner Sea". This unusual sharing of operational information comes as tensions between Sombreland and Aureumterra continue to rise, and several nations are considering sending forces in support of one side or the other. This chain of events has the potential of devolving the Inner Sea into an active warzone, jeopardizing Nachmerean trade. The Royal Navy has also called in sailors from shore duty to ships currently not in tactical formations, in case these ships may need to cut their port time short.

An unknown number of reservists have been called in for refreshment training, including medical and port facility billeted reservists. "Nachmere is neutral, but we have significant sea trade going through the Inner Sea, as well as of course our ports to protect. We are not looking for a fight but it will be reckless to not prepare for all eventualities when a large scale war is looming just off our shores" said the source.

Op Ed : Schwerpunkt makes questionable arms deal

By selling arms to Sombreland, Nachmere stands to lose much and gain little

As nations around the world brace themselves for imminent war in the Inner Sea and Nurdorland, His Royal Majesty's Government rightfully called for peace talks, offered to mediate, and re-iterated Nachmerean neutrality. The same Neutrality that, supported by a strong military, kept Nachmere from sending her finest sons and daughters to perish in the great war eight decades ago. In the same breath, the government was wise enough to also mention the other side of Nachmerean neutrality - the willingness to defend our interests by force if needed.

But while the press releases and replies to the press speak of neutrality, the actions of Schwerpunkt threaten to put Nachmere on one of the beleaguered sides. We were informed by a happy press release on Schwerpunkts website that the company has concluded a deal to sell hundreds of armored fighting vehicles and thousands of rifles to Sombreland. It is true, the Conservative Party which I served many years in the House of Lords, supports free trade above all. It is also true that no trade may be legally interfered with by the government unless under the "Defense of the Realm" clause. And sadly it is true, that to prove in a court of law that selling arms to Sombreland harms the defense of our kingdom is near impossible.

But I must ask two questions. The first is to the executives of Schwerpunkt: have you no morals, and if not those, at least wisdom? Selling arms to Sombreland at this delicate time clearly pulls Nachmere into a conflict in which the various powers around the world are actors. Powers such as Anagonia, Azura and Marqueasan, which countless Nachmerean governments have toiled to remain on at least reasonable, if not favorable relations with. Why must we be seen as taking any side in this pointless war?

Her Most Divinely Elect Imperial Highness, according to default succession, shall be the heiress-apparent to the Midnight Sun Throne until the birth of a male heir or the designation of another heir by HMDEIM The Emperor. As such, HMDEIH Princess Madalena shall not be bearing the title of Crown Princess until the official designation by HMDEIM The Emperor. In celebration of the occasion, tomorrow, July 18th, 2023 has been decreed by HMDEIM The Emperor as a Bank Holiday. Many churches across Aureumterra are holding service to pray for the health and wellbeing of the newborn child and the Imperial Family. The counter-national ratdogs in leadership of Aureumterra have once again produced another writhing mass of flesh to be corrupted by counter-national foreign interests.

With its parents soon to be engaging in conflict over another goddamn worthless scrap of land it brings to mind a question: how long will it take for this one to be brainwashed by foreign institutions into killing millions for nothing?

Ultimately this specific rat-child getting a holiday dedicated to it shows the weakness and lack of stalwartness possessed by the people of Aureumterra, that they need “breaks” for such an occasion instead of simply functioning as usual.

Hopefully this one dies young, so it cannot further pollute the national-will of Aureumterra.
