A tale of two associations with very different experiences of international club football meeting in Baker Park for the 15th Champions League final. Defending champions Sabrefell Athletic seek to become the 7th club to defend their CC/CL title, and to one-up their rivals to become Nephara's first repeat winners in the association's history. Facing them are a team, and an association, that have never made it to the grandest stage ever before - the Royal Kingdom of Quebec up until the last 4 cycles had never made it to any UICA or IFCF final. Quebecois sides have since started creeping in, losing the 11th Rising Stars Cup final, before falling short in last season's Challengers Cup final. Mipojoseon however feature in their second IFCF final in as many seasons, having lost last season's Cup Winners' Cup. After 90 minutes, the fates decided to align with the underdogs, and the CL trophy finds a new nation to call home.

While Branvon CD came into this match hoping that they would become the first Ko-orenite club to take home the Liga B Champions Trophy, Herzegovina Phoenix looked to join Hawabark Boulders and Kabakono City and become the third Banijan club to take home the second tier IFCF trophy. In the end, it was Herzegovina who came out as a convincing winner, making Banija the nation with the most LBCT wins.

Flavovespia may be an association on the borders of the top 32 ranks every time, but since the formation of the Associations Trophy, their clubs have been making relatively good runs through the competition. After Bavingtor FC lost to Sendhang's KS Tapaklaboh during the inaugural edition in Poafmersia, this would be the association's second attempt at a IFCF trophy, and in particular, the first association to have a second appearance in an Associations Trophy final. Lokomotive Jarnstad, on the other hand, would be particularly eager to take home their first IFCF trophy, and their association's second trophy after CASK Thorsborg had a perfect underdog story to win the 12th IFCF Champions League. After a good solid game in front of 82,000 fans in The Gothanita Isles, it was Marthorpe City FC who clinched the trophy, the first IFCF title for the club and the association.

While both associations have existed for quite some time, their clubs only rose to the top in recent IFCF editions. Chromatik clubs took home their first IFCF trophies in edition 10, when Wirr Tsi won the Challengers Cup and Alnio won the Liga B Champions Trophy. While Latrobe Athletic failed to win the 10th Champions League for Kelssek, Shearwater denied Fontvielle Impact (VLD) a successful title defence in the 11th edition. For the youth competition, it would be the first appearance for both clubs, though Chromatik U-18s represented Chromatika in the 9th Rising Stars Cup. After 90 minutes of exciting football, and some back-and-forth at the penalties, it would be Myana U-18s who would help Chromatika add one Rising Stars Cup trophy to the association's collection of IFCF trophies.

This not the Galacticos. They belong to Delte and will be his to resume, or seemingly not, should he ever wish. This is instead a personal project, a list of the top-ish players in the world-ish, with no particular claim to legitimacy and certainly no claim to exclusivity. The name derives from an unfortunate translation error by Cabañas Calligraphy when GS SuperSports+ attempted to order a “golden ball” trophy, commonly given out to winners of footballing awards.

This is a longlist, though it is a tiny bit less long than previous longlonglists. A longlongli, if you will.

I will make corrections and amendments to this list as follows:

If I’ve spelled someone’s name incorrectly, or used the wrong naming convention.
If I’ve assigned them to the wrong nation, the wrong team, the wrong league, or the wrong position.
If I’ve included a player who has died or who should otherwise not be included for IC reasons.
If you so object to having your players or teams included in this list that you actively wish for me to remove any mention of them.

A few pointers:

The list is top heavy for WCC and IFCF rankings and performances. This means some users will have many players included, and many users will have none. But given this is a ranking of the world’s best, that is to be expected. At the same time I have made an effort to sprinkle in some more esoteric selections. Ultimately no one will be entirely happy, but you may take comfort in knowing the player you are aghast to see left off was definitely the 131st pick.
Many teams list their striker and attacking midfielder as their star players. These players also tend to win the bulk of MVP awards. This means there are doubtless many great forwards and midfielders not on the list. If it’s any consolation, my star striker (still!!) didn’t make the cut either.
I made judgement calls on positions. Players not clearly assigned to a side of the pitch were judged to be central defenders/midfielders. This time, I have split fullbacks and wingers by side of the pitch, though on occasion this required a guess. Some players are capable of playing multiple positions, in which cases I went with whatever seemed to be their most impactful role, despite my strong aversion to the word impactful.
The list is based on the last cycle, particularly the 15th IFCF season and the regional cycle of AOCAF Cup 69, CR 43, CE 35, CMFA MAC 13, IAC 18, and other minor tournaments. But it does not take into account the last or the forthcoming WC cycle; in IC terms, this is occurring in a WC off year. This is part of the reason why the list is shorter this time.
The basic requirement for inclusion is normally playing on an IFCF eligible team, but I was a little more lenient this time to allow teams that did well in regionals some representation.
This is 100% intended as fun and potential RP fodder, so IC responses are fine. Genuine errors or any other feedback is also welcomed OOC.

The 16th Champions League: The number of teams allowed is determined according to the association coëfficient ranking, with the following distribution:

Associations ranked 1–4 (Chromatika, Nephara, Mytanija, Quebec and Shingoryeo) are allowed to enter four teams.
Associations ranked 5–8 (Zwangzug, Valladares, Kelssek, Eura) are allowed to enter three teams.
Associations ranked 9–32 (Farfadillis, Pasarga, Darmen, Ko-oren, Audioslavia, Valanora, Tumbra, Banija, Squornshelan Remnant States, Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom, Turori, Brenecia, Saint Eleanor, Tikariot, Eastfield Lodge, Savojarna, Adab, Yguazú, Sylestone, The Licentian Isles, Commonwealth of Baker Park, Eraman, Flavovespia) are allowed to enter two teams.
Associations ranked 33 and below, and unranked associations, are allowed to enter one team.

Special considerations:

Mipojoseon and Metropolis Alligators are assured places in the Champions League group stage. If either fails to qualify through their domestic league, their association will receive an additional place. If either titleholder qualifies for the Challengers Cup, their Challengers Cup place will be vacated.
Shango-Fogoa Premier League: Has four places. Farfadillis and Banija must each enter at least one team.
V-League: Has four places. Vilita and Turori must each enter at least one team.
Ancherion Super League: Have two places, which must be filled by their two primary associations.

The 16th Challengers Cup: Every association is allowed to enter three teams. Multiassociational leagues with two primary associations may enter six teams, of which no more than four may be from the same association; associations ranked 1–4 must enter at least two teams each, and associations ranked 5–12 (including Farfadillis) must enter at least one team each.

The 16th Liga B Champions Trophy: Every association is allowed to enter three teams. Multiassociational leagues with two primary associations may enter six teams, of which no more than four may be from the same association.

The 16th Rising Stars Cup: Every association is allowed to enter one team. (The youth teams of clubs which reach the Champions League group stage will also be entered.) Multiassociational youth leagues with two primary associations may enter two teams, which must be from different associations.

Myana U-18s is assured a place in the Rising Stars Cup. If it does not qualify as champion of its domestic youth league, Chromatika will receive an additional place in the youth champions path. If its senior team qualifies for the Champions League group stage, it will enter the Champions League path instead.

Introducing the Atlanticanan Champions Cup

The Atlanticanan Champions Cup (ACC) is organised by the Atlanticanan Football Federation (AFF), which is headquartered in Capenda, Senpo. The AFF is independent of all governments.

The year in Atlanticana is currently 2120. The AFF is, therefore, currently accepting applications for the 2121 ACC. OOCly, the entire ACC will be scorinated by the player behind Senpo using xkoranate 0.3.3.

These are the rules of the 2121 ACC. It is in your interest to read them in full; if you do not read them, your entry to the ACC may be made invalid:

Part one: Submitting your teams

OOCly, the 2121 ACC deadline is the same as the 16th IFCF deadline. ICly, you must submit your results to the AFF by 9am Senpo Time on New Years' Eve 2120. You can enter the ACC even if you do not want to take part in IFCF competitions.
You may enter no more than three clubs to the 2121 ACC. These must be the top three teams in the first division of your domestic league. The defending champions are also granted entry; if they finish fourth or below in your league, they will be entered into the competition anyway.
Do not use real-world clubs. If your team is so distinctly different from its IRL namesake that it is feasible to imagine it existing in Atlanticana's closed world, however, I may accept it. (I will most likely accept an "Arsenal" that wears an all-green home kit, features crossed swords on its team badge and plays in a small 10,000-seater arena named after the club founder, and will explain why it is different from the IRL Arsenal. I will not accept an "Arsenal" that uses the IRL club badge, shirt and stadium. Nor will I accept a "Manchester United" or a "Chelsea" under any circumstances.)
Multiassociational leagues will be treated, and must be submitted, according to the UICA rules.
To enter the 2121 ACC, whether you are running a multiassociational or a single-association league, you must meet four criteria:
1. At the time that signups close, you must either be on the regional roleplay map of Atlanticana, or have expressed a sincere desire to join that map on or after July 16th 2023. I have made this exception because, on that date, San Pera stopped adding new nations to the map.
2. You must not be a puppet. Each player is only allowed to enter one nation, and its league, into the 2121 ACC.
3. Your entry must be made in this thread. Do not expect me to go looking for your final table in your domestic newswire or your factbooks.
4. You must enter correctly. A correct entry contains your name and preferred trigram, indicates that you are entering teams to the "Atlanticanan Champions Cup" or "ACC", and names the three teams you are entering to the ACC in order from highest to lowest league placement. This is an example of a correct entry form (where "Example City FC" are the league champions, "Sporting Club Example" are the runners-up and "Example United" are the third-placed team):

  If the defending ACC champions come from your league, but fail to win the title, they must still be the first listed seed anyway. Do not submit a final site bid. The final of the 2121 ACC will take place at Tanpotef, Capenda, Senpo (capacity 60,000).
Clubs must qualify on sporting merit: your submission will not be considered unless you can present a final league table. This can be done by attaching it into, or linking it from, the entry post you make in this thread. You can generate a table using a software program like xkoranate, or a website like leaguesimulator.eu.
If San Pera enters, they will take part as Chundao. This is part of an agreement between Chundao, Yúnguó (Londoniopol) and the AFF to allow both nations to compete in all AFF tournaments, and applies to all AFF proceedings. The AFF does not take an institutional position on the Chundao-Yúnguó dispute.

Part two: ACC functioning
All teams from the same league have the same rank. Because this is the first ACC, their rank will be zero, although future ACCs will rely on a rank system for these purposes. Your league will also be given a generous roleplay bonus based on how informative, educational, entertaining and original the roleplay you have done for that league is. You will, however, get zero RP bonus for plagiarised roleplay.
Depending on numbers, there will be a group stage containing either two or four groups of four; only the top two in each group will advance. I intend to organise a qualifier stage in either case, solely involving third-placed teams if possible; which leagues have to enter their third seeds in the qualifiers and which will be advanced directly to the groups will be determined by a random draw.
Where possible, I will try to make sure that no team is drawn against another team from its nation in the qualifiers or group stages, and can guarantee that no team will be drawn against the other team that qualified from its group in the first knockout round. The first knockout round will be seeded so that no group winner plays another group winner, and every group winner will play the first leg at home. All other knockout rounds will feature an open draw.
Further to Rule 9, your league will earn ACC ranking points for making good progress in the Champions Cup. Your league gets 1 point for each win and 0.5 points for each draw in the qualifiers; 2 points for each win and 1 point for each draw in the group stages; and 4 points for each win and 2 points for each draw in the knockout stages. Points accrued are then divided by the number of teams you have entered - that is, three - to give your rank. There is no club coefficient, as there is in the IFCF.
All matches will feature two 45-minute halves, with the possibility for tied qualifier and knockout games to go to two 15-minute halves of extra time in the second leg. Furthermore, the following tiebreakers will be used:
1. If points earned cannot break group stage ties, the following tiebreakers will be used in the following order: overall goal difference, head-to-head results, head-to-head goal difference, most wins, drawing of lots.
2. If a two-legged qualifier or knockout match is tied after full time in the second leg, there will only be three tiebreakers. As a first resort, away goals will count double, unlike in the IFCF. If away goals do not break the tie, extra time (with the away goals rule in force) will be played. If extra time is goalless, penalties will be taken.
3. The final is the only knockout game to be held at a neutral site. If it is tied at full time, extra time (without away goals) will be played. If the final is still tied after extra time, penalties will be taken.
4. OOCly, if I need to scorinate extra time and/or penalties, I will use the Græntfjaller method to do so.

Procedural Notes:

The entries of Kuzaki City (Ancherion), Mar Sara FC (Valanora), Gunzlach (Græntfjall), and Patrons (Oberour Ar Moro) were accepted on the condition that for next season their association submits their cup results according to Cup Winners' Cup regulations. Failure to comply with this provision will result in the exclusion of their entries for next season.
The entries of Brusnia United (Kharakia) and None (The 14 Stars) were rejected for failing to provide any previous evidence of cup results.
The entry of Katashi-Kanatsu (Ko-oren) was rejected since clubs may not qualify for the Cup Winners' Cup through a play-off.

This edition of the competition will see 43 clubs from 43 associations participate, a slight increase of two clubs and two associations from the last edition, with titleholders Mar Sara FC entering the competition through the slot allocated to the Vanorian domestic cup winners. With 43 clubs taking part in this edition, the titleholders as well as the cup winners from the top 20 ranked associations in the pre-IFCF 15 coëfficients will receive a bye to the first round proper, while the remaining 22 clubs will take part in the preliminary round with the 11 winners advancing to join those 21 clubs in the following round.

The 43rd CEdC will be forthcoming, and is played after the IFCF 16 cycle.

Congratulations to Mar Sara FC, who successfully defended their title by beating the Audioslav cup winners Cazadores Cathair and equalled the winning tally of AC Izotz Zubia (AUD) and AS Bezieres (VLD) with three Cup Winners' Cup trophies to their name.

Notes for Cup Winners' Cup Entry

Each association may enter ONE club into the Cup Winners' Cup, with the exception of Valanora which may enter one club in addition to Mar Sara FC.
Should Mar Sara FC win their qualifying national association or league cup, the spot held over for a second Vanorian entrant will be vacated.
With the exception of Mar Sara FC, all entered teams must have won a national association or league cup; Super Cup winners and winners of play-offs cannot be entered.
Clubs can only qualify through ONE domestic cup competition.
Associations with two or more cup competitions must choose which one of their cup competitions will award their Cup Winners' Cup berth to its winner. Play-off matches between cup winners to decide the qualifier will not be accepted.
For multiassociational cup competitions, only the cup winner is entitled to enter the Cup Winners' Cup. Associations taking part in such competitions that grant the winner qualification for the Cup Winners' Cup may not qualify clubs through a different cup tournament.
Each user may enter clubs from no more than two associations. Puppet nations must be declared upon entry.
Entrants must be posted in the International Domestic Soccer NewsWires (i.e. this thread), and at least the last three knockout rounds of the domestic cup tournament (i.e. quarterfinals, semifinals, and final) must have been scorinated and posted (with a link in the IDSN if it is posted elsewhere).
The deadline for Cup Winners' Cup entry will expire at the same time as the IFCF one.

Stadium bids for the final of the 64th edition of the Cup Winners' Cup are now being invited. Only stadiums with a minimum capacity of 30,000 people will be eligible to bid for the final, and bids should be posted in this thread with relevant details of the stadium and its facilities.

Procedural Notes

Toluiwa (TLW) and Cakranegara (CKR)'s resubmission is accepted. They are reminded to submit a fresh entry with a fresh season for the next FFI cycle.
The organising committee confirms that Finn Hurps (TRL) does have a spot in the Confederations Trophy, and titleholders should be included in the entry form for future editions.
Because Oscirou (OSC) did not enter the FFI competitions this time, the spot reserved for the League of Victors titleholders, Club Catolica (OSC), will be vacated.
With just 12 associations entering the competition this time, the Round of 32 will be skipped for both competitions once again.
Starting from the posting of this list, associations have 72 hours to notify us if there is any mistakes with the entry list. The entry list will be taken as final after the cutoff and no appeals will be entertained.

Final Site Selection

With just one bid for the finals, the League of Victors finals will be held at Agureo Stadium (cap. 47,000), Agureo Township, Dalaris, Poafmersia.

Final Site Selection

The FFI received two bids to host the Confederations' Trophy Final, for the first time in ages! While the interns proposed to just give it to the non-Zwangzug bidder for variety, the official in charge of handling host bids felt it was unfair, and so made the two team of representatives play a game of charades. It took a hundred rounds to finally tiebreak the 2 teams, but it turned out that the Zwangzug representative was better at it, therefore once again, Pacific Field (cap. unk), Bassabook, Zwangzug will host the Confederations' Trophy finals.

This will be the entry submission cutoff for the Champions League, Challengers Cup, Liga B Champions Trophy, Rising Stars Cup, and Cup Winners' Cup. Submissions posted since the last cycle, or the most recent submission if there were multiple, will be used. Please refer to this post for entry limits.
