OOC: Many thanks to Hapilopper for his permission to RP this glorious occasion.

Ilya Tsunopin wasn't having an easy race this time as well. As with past few races, he's managed to start off strong, but each time he felt so confident about it all, he would make a mental slip once or twice midway into the race and find himself trailing by a fair bit. A rebound entering the fourth segment of the race no doubt was promising, but then his mental block gave in again and Ilya found himself running with fumes close to the end of the race that he only missed out on a DNF by smallest of mental margins.

Bloody, my mind's really not in the right place. thought Ilya, as he took a deep breath after his car had stopped at last, allowing him to catch some breath. His mind was far from feeling peaceful about the state of his results, however, as the 36th Place he had received was close to the bottom.

Sure, he didn't go DNF unlike last time, but in a particularly crash-heavy race like that of Coweta Agricultural 300, Ilya couldn't help but to feel that everything had gone wrong for him to not only finish close to the bottom, but also behind that of his adversary, Quebecois Malo 'Bo' Boludo. Over the past half-decade, him and his rival had every bit of argument and beef flaring both ways inside and outside of motorsports. They had fought multiple rounds on the octagons of Delaclava and Quebec, but also in other countries where their bloody encounters had become immortalised, and held a relatively even record. Their opposing personalities and background, with Ilya coming from an upper-class, Sonnelite setup with potty mouth and Bo a working-class, Jolbonopolis makeup with long hair and letting his glare do the talk, had no doubt added to it.

Thus it was of no surprise that the past year or so had just ended up being that of wordfest between both camps, with Ilya and his teammates. Members of Team Tsunopin would tweet this, Team Salamantel's lawyers would warn on that. Ilya and his teammates would try to provoke, and Bo would only reply by avoiding comment outside of a rare one now and then. Ilya knew that it was only controlled because Charlotte de FitzLawrence, his wife also known to be a cousin (though unofficially due to paperwork reasons everybody knows of) of Christine II, kept him away from unnecessarily engaging with controversial topics or drivers as much as possible.

So it came to realisation that Ilya, at last, had to provoke Bo on the circuit. The timing could not have been perfect for Ilya to do so, even after an awful race, because Bo had just finished before Ilya did, and their cars were right next to each other. Not to mention the fact that his idol and lover (inside his head), Kai Qiang, had just won the race.

Nothing to lose, all to gain. Ilya thought inside his head as he got outside of his car. Immediately taking the top of his firesuit off and revealing an upper torso full of tattoos, he got himself in motion to shout his celebration-mating-call in an extremely high, casterato pitch right in front of his car.

It was going to be a lovely day isn't it? 'WO AI NI, QIANG KA-' he shrieked the mating call, taking two steps forward and his mouth wide open.

What he did not predict, however, was a massive overhead kick his way as Bo, finally tired of Ilya Tsunopin's antics, kicked Ilya on his face. He immediately fell, and what followed next was a massive scuffle....

oh my!
<Ilya Tsunopin> I LOVE YOU KAI QIANG

@TeamTrop

While @TeamTrops #Lucky13 may have come up short in the Berman Brothers Classic, it was still a great week on the Dirt with #1 Maddie Alexander posting a runner-up finish in the Cup Series race and two Tropicorp entries in the Classic Main Event

Even though the #2T @TionesLumber machine was knocked out of the race just past the halfway point, it was still great to see @Centur competing in the Main Event once more, proving just what a talented driver they are no matter what the surface!

All I could think about watching @Yraaga41 winning the LCQ and finishing 12th in the #BBClassic main event is - I wonder how much faster the #Lucky13 could have been if the simulator was configured right before we all went out there...

@Motorai

Well darn. Was hoping to make a run through the soup at the HNE Half Mile, but Novorali beat me out there on the last lap. Her car just seemed to handle better in the turns. We had plenty of power I just couldn't hold her off. Always next year I suppose.

The Valentians – Race 15 – Main Series: Exhibition 500-Mile Race, Hapilopper City Raceway, Hapilopper (Speedway); Everlong: Everlong 400, Hapilopper City Raceway, Hapilopper (Speedway)

Foresittend Marcus Alan Ariel Maximillian “Unendlichkeit Jäger” Swifty Felix Maverick Prometheus Revlin Lynx Artyom Lichtenstein Baptiste C. Talon Haydn Lincoln Taal Reynolds Fang Wu Ying didn’t have had much of a good day on the track. He knew that whatever went down in Hapilopper was not as bad off the track, especially considering what has been happening with the other drivers (not necessarily here but in other places), but the fact that it happened twice to them in terms of performance was not as optimal. Sure, this was his first DNF, but the fact that he bottomed out and became the first to DNF was something that he was disappointed and ashamed with, even if this was his very first DNF. “Happens on the worst of timings,” he remarked to the press, in one of those rare moments where he was not in his armor; it would have been taxing for himself to drive in it, along with his poor car that would have to support the massive weight of the armor. “Anyway, I will be fine for today, and I do think that this will help me reflect on things better. With one more race to go at Saint Kanye, these folks are definitely gearing up, and that is more than okay with me. I love the challenge that will be ahead of us.” For the next 40 minutes, he answered as much as possible to his fans and his reporters, some of them even asking if he can bring his armor there.

“Well, I mean, I don’t see why not! I thought you guys might be a little sick of it, or maybe terrified. But hey, if you guys really want to see it, then sure!” with a few taps and touches on one of his communication devices that he has strapped onto his left arm, it came strolling in a surprisingly graceful manner, instead of the usual manner of it crashing and smashing into everything it sees. The fans of the franchise that the armor came from would know that it would be absolutely bad news, much less when it is 13 meters tall. For the one that Marcus has linked and paired telepathically, the colony of worms inside are definitely on the more docile side, and they also have the honor of becoming Valentians themselves. The two of them worked as well as one would expect from a pair of these armors, except that instead of a pair or armors, it’s just one of them with the other being an ordinary Valentian human that managed to bond with them. Indeed, this has been established a few times, and for a few of the purists, they would call out that such a thing is not possible and that the other would go into a state of rage and berserk. That, of course, is true, but so is the technology (and even some mysticism and magic) of Valentine Z that made it work, and for all intents, Marcus working and walking around in that suit of armor has not negatively impacted him at all.

The fans were fascinated by it, no matter how many times they have seen it happen. They were fascinated by Marcus climbing up onto the armor as the latter waited patiently for its designated sibling, the armor itself having a few adjustments to it in order to let Marcus ride it like some bio-mech of sorts, as well as covering the exposed back that the original design has problems with, after successfully replicating the alloy that the original armor is made of. Flushing nicely into the insides that were designed intricately while also being symbiotic to the original colony, the Valentian Hunter is a technological (and mystical) marvel of its own, born from that random luck of one of them dropped into Valentine Z on that faithful day. Marcus took control of the armor, then telepathically communicating with the colony, which showed concern towards their brother possibly suffering from the injuries. “No, I am not injured,” Marcus replied back via the interface, “I mean, I took a bit of bruising and again, no one was out to hurt me. It just sucks, really, the fact that all of this effort went to nothing – not just a DNF, but to be the bottom. That is not a very good outcome at all.” After a few seconds, he soon received back a reply, “We understand. We hope that the next race will be better for you. Good luck!” “I will do my best, thanks. It is very much appreciated, as always.”

Valentijn “De Sierlijke en Vrij Valkyrie General ov Valentine Z” Samantha Maxwell Delta Weston Stijn Angelus Tracey Mitchell Tristian Marnix Basilisk Lewis Hyatt X. Constantine Sein Lin Zaw Naing nonetheless is the best friend that he will never forget, even with the development that is the aforementioned armor. The man (now woman) has been alongside him since the Pre-Valentian Era, and the two have been working together without so much of a conflict or a heated argument going on between them, let alone a verbal or physical fight. Valentijn and Marcus, for all intents and purposes, are Bash Brothers – to fight side by side with utmost confidence and pride, as well as watching each other’s back all the time. What happened to these two friends on the Everlong 400, the world might not know. It was not as if they have had disagreements before, during, or after the race. The qualifications, even, would have made such an opportunity, the two of them at 3rd and 5th respectively and should have been able to maintain it. Alas, at the end of the day, perhaps it was not meant to be. It was not meant to be for the Valentians to prosper this time at Hapiloppers, and one might even say that it is karma that the Valentians have unintentionally screwed them out of the Big Ass Bash. “We definitely got our asses kicked,” Valentijn remarked, long right after Multiversal drivers have finished their races. With a finish of 17th, 18th, and 21st, it was a good thing that Clarissa, Anastasia, and Gwen teamed up and tried to salvage whatever they could, but the first two having dropped from 5th and 2nd respectively? “Yeah, let’s just call it bad luck, all right?” Valentijn added onto the press, “They did their best as always, and that’s all that matters to me. They won’t get panned for their bad performance, and of course, friend or otherwise, I will still stand by that I am proud to work with the Valentians, and that they have never cheated, and neither have they bumped someone off the road. I will always be happy to be with them, and support them.”

Still, Valentijn was happy knowing that her wife was able to place 10th in The Berman Bros. Classic, one that has been organized by the Hapilopperians themselves. Seeing her happy once again, especially after what has gone down, definitely brought a giant smile to the giantess that was watching the news. That, and being alongside her friend, seeing as Marcus was sitting right beside her in his own chair, the two in a relatively different size of 13 meters and 117 meters, but being more than comfortable with talking to each other that way. “Here’s to the best for the next race, yeah?” Marcus started off, with Valentijn nodding and then replying on his own, “Man, those guys and girls are going to gear up so hard for that one. The Chase, the one and only. I do hope you will get a win too. I know we always say there’s always next season, but I still can’t believe it, we are at the 16th race already, and soon will be going for the Chase.” “Well, we better get practicing later, I suppose. I know not to overload myself, but hey, a little bit of grinding will pay off. Pencurve, right?” “Yep, Pencurve.” Turning off the TV, the two then slowly made walked into another room, with Valentijn having her body techno-magically shrunken down to the desired size in order to have a try on the simulations. “Best of luck to the everyone of us, like really. We’re going to need a lot of it.”

The Exhibition 500-Mile Race is always a big race, both in terms of history and Chase implications, and you could certainly feel the importance of it all entering race day here in the Dominion. The traditional cannon fire to signify this race was going to happen always sends shivers down the spine and the fact the Chase situation was as it was meant that you could feel everyone without those tickets really focus on trying to find their way into the Playoff racing. The stakes were undoubtedly high...but who would rise to the occasion here today?

Before I start on the madness, a word on the Happy Hoppers - a group who were booing Team Valentine Z for most of the HapEx simply because they were "too good" and stuff like that. I can understand the fact that they, as Hapiloppians, would want to support their local team and try to boo the opposition...but Team Val Z? They haven't done shit to deserve that and what's more, you made Big Blue cry. Why the fuck would you subject her to that...she hadn't done anything wrong. You should be ashamed of yourselves, going after them like that. Go after us, or HM, or GFR or anyone else...but don't do that to Val Z. Disgraceful, both you guys and the Little Miss Blowup that joined you.

Meanwhile, the race itself is going onto MemeWatch alongside the Happy Hoppers because they broke the DNF barrier - I say 10 DNFs earns you a spot on the list...and this race gave me 12. Kai Qiang, Shuzhen Zhu and Cocoabo #28 all gone by segment three and then the real chaos happened as Aurélia Karvonen retired due to mechanical failure and Michael "Kaiser" Stefan (@Stefan07) had his day ended via a crash with Jeremiah Brooke and Holly Aurora Lapia Starlight - with no hard feelings going to the other two, of course. Rudy Edwards finished P23, ahead of Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03), so that's how you can tell this race was chaotic - with Clayton Smith finishing his court session in P33. Tyson Hoyt ended up as the best non-charter in P19 while Lam Chow-Cheung had a consistent day in P14. Alfonso "Cyclone" Mercado (@AM64) would end up with a consistent day in P6 but the real winner was the Shark as River Suzgar II took the win over Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal and Tsering Chu after a very entertaining race.

Jalton, Saint Kanye must decide 6 Chasers the ECS and 3 in the MCS - and both the GGfx Graphics Cards 450 and the Pencurve Electronics 500 must decide those fates. What won't be decided is charters, as that has already been determined - with Laura Mackenzie, Masina Fualema and Amir Vélez being replaced by Daryl Calhoun, an OMR driver (Hoyt/Jenkins) and a 69X driver (Cocaobo #28 or Wang Anjiao). No matter who's in and who's out, we have business to deal with next week...stuff that many will be fighting for.

I know I'm doing OK...but sometimes, it feels like it isn't enough.
It's like making the Chase last season corrupted my mind into what is deemed as "acceptable" in my head.

I know I have to win to make it in.
It may be a step too far...but I'll give it my best shot.

Maybe this is too much to ask of little old me.
But I will break my fucking back if it means I get in.

I hope to see you all next week.

Postby Saint Kanye » Tue May 02, 2023 1:58 pm

With St. Kanye only being a two-hour flight away from Hapilopper, the GFR trio decided to go back home on Sunday, the day after the Coweta 300. Even despite all the exciting activities that the Hapilopper National Exhibition had to offer, Thea, Jeremiah and Stacie found it all overwhelming, hence the need to go back home, lay low and chill out. Wednesday is for their return and rest, Thursday for shopping, dining and checking out exhibits and concerts, Friday for practice, and Saturday and Sunday for the actual race weekend. That is the schedule that they hope to follow for the next two weeks.

With that out of the way, let's fast forward to the happenings during the qualifying sessions, heat races and of course the Berman Brothers Classic main event, not only for the trio but for some of the other Yeezies in the whopping 271-car field.

"Oh, come on.... how could I ever have qualified that badly?" Thea said upon finding out that she only had the 184th best time, and thus will be starting in the K-Main. This was coming from a driver that had made her name on dirt tracks in St. Kanye before getting the call up from GFR eight seasons ago (boy, does time fly), and now she's found out that she put in a lap slower than those who were not established drivers, like media people and even a rapper. "Oh well, time to go on a soup run, I guess," Thea finally said. She wasn't going to let this become a problem for herself.

Unfortunately though, she wouldn't last longer than a single qualifying race, battling the likes of Lotara Novorali and Jixaka Motorai for the last transfer spot and falling short. "Ugh. Even here, the Dart drivers are ganging up on me," she lamented. Cocoabo #78 and Lam Chow-Cheung were two of the others who advanced, so there might be some truth in her statement. Rather dejected, she retreated to the stands and started making a list of people to root for.

Stacie had the 245th fastest qualifying time, good for the N-Main, but she had a chance to lock herself into the main event with the new Race of Champions that was implemented into the Berman in this edition. "Ooh, great. Let's see how this plays out then." Starting near the back with only Drake Stevenson behind her, Stacie used her short track smarts to power herself past everyone else, but there was one that she just couldn't catch up with. Jill Singletary, "Jingle" for short, her very own driver in AOCAR, known as a tremendous dirt track talent and even the "next Thea Alvarez" by some. At times she would even find herself side by side with Jingle, but either lose her on a turn or actually nudged out of the way. In the end the AOCAR driver would get the better of her Multiversal counterpart and snatch the fifth starting spot in the A-Main, but even though Stacie had fallen short, she was still happy for the fight she's been given, shaking Jingle's hand and wishing her luck.

Then it came time for the N-Main. This somehow felt more difficult for Stacie, and she would fall way short in tenth place out of 24, where only four got to advance. If only she'd find a way to get ahead of Jingle, she thought to herself before finding Thea amongst the audience and sitting beside her.

Sage Caldwell earned himself the status of a cult hero after surviving several qualifying races on the way to a runner-up finish in the main event, but that was a few Bermans (Bermen?) ago. Having worked on his dirt racing skill since then, he was now able to not only qualify well, in 16th, but also survive the B-Main as well as the A-Main. Some of the loudest cheers for a foreign driver were for Sage, which pleased him greatly and gave him some extra motivation to do well. The result? A solid seventh place, which while not a win on paper was still one for him.... and the rapidly growing Sage Gang.

Pyotr Lavrentiev was the only one representing Ceroat in the Berman, since Rustam Ilyich Yudin listed himself under his Fleftic citizenship. So of course Lav went all out, painting his car in the red and white checkers of his homeland's flag and shouting "FOR CEROAT!" at the start and end of the Race of Champions and B-Main, as well as the A-Main where he would only narrowly miss out on a top ten upon being nosed out by Clarissa Samantha. He would visit Andrew's Pub shortly after the race, hoping to relax with some vodka, and was surprised to see a few patrons, girls and guys alike, not only asking for an autograph or a selfie but actually offering to buy drinks for him.

Jeremiah turned heads when he got the eleventh fastest qualifying time of the almost three hundred participants, something he was able to put to good use in the B-Main after he and Daryl Calhoun ran into each other and bowed out early in the Race of Champions. (There was no bad blood between the two Yeezies as both forgave each other and admitted it was a racing deal.) After securing a runner-up finish in the B-Main, Jeremiah found himself starting seventh in the main event, somehow fell to the middle of the 30-car pack, before picking up speed late and finding himself in the lead. All he had to do is hold on to his position and he'd be able to claim the dub, but Daryl came up behind him and put up quite the challenge, eventually making a daring move to get past him even as Houzhi Chang also zipped past. He played catch up to the two, but to no avail. In the end, Daryl would win over Chang, but Jeremiah would hold off Tsering Chu for third. Being a good sport, he went over and congratulated the two men who beat him, while also wishing them good luck in next week's race (Chang being the crew chief of Qiang, of course).

NSSCRA ANNOUNCES FINES

While a couple of drivers seemed to anticipate that their would be fines and already agreed to help with their payment, the foregone conclusion became a reality this morning when the organization announced that both Ilya Tsunopin and Malo (Bo) Bolundo. An incident between the drivers took place following the Coweta Agricultural 300, in which Bolundo attacked Tsunopin, leading to a fight between the drivers. A NSSCRA official called the incident a little unusual, given the actions of Tsunopin immediately before Bolundo and wanted to investigate it a little deeper before handing out punishments.

The NSSCRA Statement was as follows:
"It is unacceptable in this series for two drivers to engage in a fight, and it is also unacceptable for one driver to look to provoke another driver into a fight. What occurred between the drivers of the #11 and the #90 is unusual, and our investigations of these two found that they have a deeper history of engaging in this sort of thing with one another. Therefore, it is hard for us to determine who started the incident. Bolundo clearly threw the first punches, but Tsunopin seemed as though he was looking to provoke something. Due to this, we find that neither party is particularly innocent. This is also not the first incident that Tsunopin has had with another driver in the garage, but it is for Bolundo. Therefore, we are issuing the same fine for each of them, which will be $100,000 apiece. We also ask both of these drivers to not bring any unrelated issues from the past into NSSCRA."

Calhoun hoping for a miracle at Jalton? Big News from Ashley Matthews

Jalton Superspeedway is a home track for Daryl Calhoun, and with superspeedway racing being unpredictable at times, the driver is hoping for last race heroics to get himself in the Chase. "Yes, that is the mindset that I have," Calhoun told a track reporter, "I'm not going to stand here and say that I hope to finish nineteenth today. The goal of every race is to win it. If my fellow Yeezies want to help me get into the Chase, that would be great. All of them are in, so I would love to get in there with my Rocket. How about it, Brookie?" Calhoun was also excited about getting a charter, and feels that could great help the team worry about race setups from the beginning instead of a need to focus on qualifying. That is not something that has helped Chelsea Taylor, however.

Meanwhile, Ashley Matthews announced that she will not be returning to the #48 next season, and will instead be taking an administrative role to work a lot closer with Frank Bronson. "Since Amanda and Frank came here, some of the discussions have been that I can better help this organization outside of the race car. That is not something that you want to hear as a driver, but it is the reality of the moment. I have had a great time driving, and will miss it. I will still be at the race track, and trying to help this team in other ways." Matthews complimented some drivers in particular, "Some drivers are better than others when they know you are struggling. They get that it is the greatest racing series in the World, and that if you have a ride in this series, it means you know what you are doing. Thea Alvarez has been a neighbor on hauler row of mine for a long time, and is someone who's always been one I could talk too. All of the Yeezie drivers, in particular. Kai Qiang as well, I miss having him close to me in the forties." Ashley declined to name any drivers that were not as respectful but did say that, "some people do look down on you based on your performance, but if I couldn't take it, I wouldn't be here."

Kai Qiang and Shuzhen Zhu were drafting together when Qiang hit a greasy patch where oil had spilled on the track in an earlier incident. He lost control of his car and spun sideways right in front of Zhu. She slammed on the brakes and swerved. There wasn't room to avoid a collision, but she could at least reduce the risk of a serious injury if she didn't T-bone Qiang right under his window netting. There was a flicker of blue as they collided. Qiang couldn't tell if it was an Imagination-based safety feature on Zhu's car, a spell cast from the sidelines by one of the Xianing crew, or just something breaking. Whatever it was seemed to help a little. The crash ended up not being as violent as he initially feared -- but it was still a crash. Both cars skidded to a halt and Qiang fired off a string of profanities. Zhu slapped the steering wheel and said "Dammit!" then unfastened her safety harness, pulled off her helmet, and leaned out the window to ask Qiang if he was okay.

Qiang pulled down the window netting. "Yeah, I'm okay! Fucking hell, man!"

The cars got towed and they went to the medical tent to get checked out, even though both of them felt fine.

"I'm sorry about that," Qiang said.

Zhu shrugged. "At least nobody got hurt."

"Yeah, tell the Ningba I said thanks. I'm sure they're going to get some flack over using Imagination in such an obvious way, but it's probably the reason why neither of us was hurt."

Zhu nodded. "I think it would help a lot if you were the one to say that publicly. If I say it, people will just think I'm in bed with the Nimbans."

"Of course," said Qiang. "It's the truth anyway. Hey, speaking of being in bed with the Nimbans, have you and Robin figured out what you're going to do about that whole thing where he's not human?"

"Huh???"

"Isn't that why you're not sleeping with him?"

"Qiang, what the actual fuck are you talking about??? Nimbans are human!"

Meanwhile, the other Sherpalanders were having a great day. Ongmu Yeti had one of the best races of her life, Tsering Chu came very close to ending her winless streak, and Rinzi had the Team Blue faithful up out of their seats cheering wildly as he battled Shark Suzgar down to the line. Even though Suzgar edged out Rinzi and Tsering at the end, they still had a lot to be happy about. It seemed like they had the track all figured out. Some fans even speculated that Rinzi had gotten some tips from his Hapiloppian teammates, who were more familiar with the track, and passed their advice on.

"I wish Team Blue could have won this one in front of our own fans, but it is still a good race for us," Rinzi said after the race. "Congratulations to Suzgar of course, and thank God nobody was hurt with so many wrecks today."

"A lot of people ask how Qiang and I make it work, competing against each other as husband and wife," Tsering signed. "But I think seeing him crash and trying to stay focused on the race is harder than dealing with it when he beats me. It was hard to stay focused after that crash today, but I knew I had to do it. I can't afford any bad results right now."

It took some time before it was safe for any media personnel to approach Ongmu for an interview. The yetis were jumping for joy, excited that they had finished in the top 10, and they were big enough to do some serious damage if one of them accidentally whacked someone in the face. When Ongmu finally calmed down enough for the humans to approach safely, she indicated that she was very proud of her team and they were going to celebrate with a lot of fried chicken.

The yetis thought Hapiloppians were too loud and they needed to learn a thing or two about personal space -- but their opinion improved when fans who heard about Ongmu's plans for the evening started offering to share their fried chicken. The yetis posed for a lot of selfies and ate a lot of other people's food, and in the end they decided that Hapilopper was okay.

Lightning Zhang was feeling burnt out as he wandered into the Beiyang yurt. He was pissed off that he had failed to qualify for yet another race, but at some point he got so tired of being pissed off, he didn't even have the energy to throw a tantrum anymore. He found Murat and a couple of lower-ranking French officers seated at a table talking among themselves, mostly in French, but with occasional English words or phrases mixed in. One of them had a pen and paper and was writing out a note in elegant flowing script.

Zhang attempted to ask what they were doing, though the language barrier was still an issue and he was not sure if he would be able to understand their answer.

"I am writing a letter to Mssr. Bronson and Mme. McAllister," Murat explained. "If Ashley Matthews is not returning next season, then I thought perhaps they would be in need of a new driver, and I want to offer my services."

There was some back and forth as they still had a hard time communicating, and Zhang wanted to make sure he understood correctly.

"Why are you writing a letter instead of calling or sending an email?"

"I don't have their phone numbers."

"You don't need someone's phone number to send them an email."

The French officers exchanged confused looks. Life in a high-tech world was hard!

"You don't think you should at least type that?" Zhang asked. "What if they can't read your handwriting?"

Now it's time to say goodbye to wacky, chaotic Hapilopper and hello to vibrant, colorful St. Kanye. The last fifteen points races of the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series have produced thirteen different winners, which means that entering the regular season finale, the Pencurve Electronics 500 at the Jalton Superspeedway, only three playoff seats remain up for grabs.

Clarissa Samantha of Valentine Z leads the way among the winless drivers at 509 points, followed closely by Tsering Chu at 504 and Islago Tizilna at 497. If the regular season ended today, these three would be the ones completing the sixteen-driver Chase cast, but knowing the Pencurve, the possibility of a surprise winner barging into the playoffs picture at the last moment is a very real one, as well as of someone not far from the cut line overtaking any one of these three on points. Chris Holmes is a mere nine points behind Tizilna, for example. Maddison Riley-Jones is 14 behind Tizilna, so she'd need a little more effort on her part, and even more so would Koshiro Kawai at 28 behind. Everyone else would basically need a victory, nothing less, to earn a shot at the title, including, rather surprisingly, two-time titleholder Anastasia Aye.

Meanwhile, the three drivers of Gale Force Racing have all already secured their Chase spot, with Jeremiah Brooke winning in Valentine Z, Stacie Houston in Abanhfleft, and Thea Alvarez making her triumphant playoffs return after a season's absence when she was crowned the Queen of the Jungle in TJUN-ia. "Looking forward to this race!" she said. "I know we're racing in front of many Yeezie fans no matter what track we go to, there's a special feeling, at least for me, of doing so in home sweet St. Kanye as well."

The ninth running of the Pencurve won't be the only thing happening at Jalton next weekend - two other series will have their regular seasons capped off and their own playoff casts determined then. Friday is the day for some Atlantian Oceania Competitive Auto Racing, with the fourth annual Coleman & Thorne 400 taking place. Saturday will see the fifth edition of the Everlong Contenders Series regular season finale, and the second one to be called the GGfx Graphics Cards 450 (it was previously the GGtech 400 and then the GGtech 450). And of course, the main event, the Pencurve itself on Sunday.

Here are the questions prepared by SKYNET Sports for the Multiversal group; other news outlets are encouraged to field their own as well.

Drivers in the hunt for the last Chase spot - Why do you deserve that remaining Chase spot?

Drivers already locked in - This season's Chase field certainly feels different than it does in seasons prior. What are your thoughts on this?

Rookies - What are your opinions on how your first NSSCRA season has gone so far? Is it any different from what you're used to? If so, how?

Drivers in a new team - Likewise with you, opinions on your new team?

The Gardeners – Race 15 – Main Series: Exhibition 500-Mile Race, Hapilopper City Raceway, Hapilopper (Speedway); Everlong: Everlong 400, Hapilopper City Raceway, Hapilopper (Speedway)

Holly Aceline “De Stralend en Wonderbaarlijk Licht Koningin Van Haar Mooie Universum” Aurora Symantha Vreugde Astrid Lavender Lexis Lilac Harmony Tsi. Marlie Nova Radiant Lapia Starlight has well-established herself that she does not exactly have bones, muscles, or anything organic of that sort to break. This is all, of course, given the nature of herself, which has also been well-known by the Valentians, as well as a few of the non-Valentians who followed a little more closely about Holly. Still, with all of these taken into account, her crash of the day would be the one that shocked a lot of people for that short amount of time. It was not as if that she purposely caused it, or that she left her car and called it quits like Anastasia did in the previous race. In actual fact, starting from the god-awful start that is 43rd, Holly made her way to the Top 10, and then stayed between the 10th and 20th spots. All in all, she was doing her absolute best, and she was pulling it off extremely well. Perhaps one then would have to ask to what happened to her. On top of that, what happened to her that it attracted attention to such a large degree?

The fact of the matter is her shortcoming. During the last few laps, Holly mistimed one of the turns, specifically on what has been termed by the Hapilopperians as "Bear Grease", and it sent her crashing onto a wall at a whopping 188 miles per hours. This was then followed by her car careening and flying all over the place, with Holly experiencing several G-forces, rolling and tumbling, and her car definitely needing either a new lift over, or for the car to be discarded and recycled, or to be sent out to a Valentian museum for display. For that brief moment of her life, she was smacked all over the place in her car, all of these impacts knocking her as hard as a heavyweight boxer punch. And yet, she took it all, all of it seemingly trivial or even nothing for her. Her helmet also gave way with new dents, the windshield having been perforating her body. And yet, she took them out casually, not reacting in pain during the entire process, and her arms and legs all fully functional as they should. The only slight was the flames; as the car’s temperature heated up the fuels and the oils, the flames started to lick Holly to an uncomfortable extent, one that necessitates her to form a cold shield around herself, as well as to drop the temperatures of the surroundings. “WHOEVER OUTSIDE, STAY BACK!” Holly yelled out as quickly as she could to the medical team that was quickly approaching her. Making sure that the coast was indeed clear, Holly worked her magic with a single wave of her hand; the ambient temperature within the radius (includes just barely the car itself) quickly dropped to 400 degrees Celsius, then to 200 degrees, and then 100, then -50, and then to a chilly -200 degrees, making sure that that all the flames were extinguished. To an outsider, they would simply see the fires going out on their own; to anyone that were just near the car, they would feel the intense cold while Holly insisted that they back away from the car. With the fires gone, she kept a temperature of 10 degrees for comfort and to make sure the car would not reignite, to which it didn’t. She casually exited the barely recognizable heap of metal, all of the faces fixated towards her – a mix of relief, skepticism, horror, terror, and just everything in-between. She did a small bow following the applause, as she then made her way to the medical tentage, not because she was injured, but because she was afraid that she might have taken someone else out with her. And, to her horror, she did just that, albeit definitely by accident.

As her car ricocheted and flung around, it would be one Jeremiah Brooke that got involved in the mess, the #18 being collected as collateral. She was unsure as to how much she was injured, or how much the car was totaled, but she knew for sure that it was serious enough to warrant a DNF. She assumed that Jeremiah would then walk into the medical tent for an immediate post-race checkup, and if that is going to happen, all Holly wanted to do, is to make sure that one of the drivers – a not-so-close-but-still-considerably-close friend – would be uninjured. As Jeremiah will have his wounds tended, then Holly will slowly walk up to him and offer the cooling embrace of her hands, set at a comfortable 16 degrees Celsius for the sole purpose of touching and interacting with other people and beings. “Jeremiah, I am so sorry about what happened,” she would start off, “I was careless, and I slipped up very awfully, I understand that. I can only hope that you are not injured very badly, and if there is anything that needs to be done to your car, I will try my best to ask the Valentians, they are very understanding!” She will then pause for a moment in order to give the man some recluse and pause, then ending it off with a well-wishes for Pencurve, and the hope that “I really hope that this will not happen again, especially tomorrow. It’s all my fault, I’m sorry.”

Jalton Superspeedway, Jalton, Saint Kanye
Media day – the Thursday before the Pencurve 500

QUESTIONS FOR DRAKE STEVENSON
SKYNET Sports: This season's Chase field certainly feels different than it does in seasons prior. What are your thoughts on this?
Drake Stevenson: Well, it does to some extent, but, you know, it also feels like what a Chase should feel like. There’s guys in this Chase that belong in this Chase. Qiang, Shark, Rinzi, the Gale Force drivers, the Jaguar drivers, these are drivers that belong in the Chase. These are the top flight of drivers. I’m not entirely sure how different this Chase feels, but at the very least, I feel like Team Blue is in the best shape it has ever been in. We’ve got a great racing team with three drivers that are more than capable of winning races any week.

Mike Shepherd, Venerable TV Sports: Drake, any thoughts on the fans back home booing the Valentian drivers?
Drake: Not really, it’s not really my wheelhouse, but I think it’s much ado over nothing. Fans in Hapilopper have their own opinions and they’re entitled to them. I’ve been booed back home and I’ve had things thrown at me. I get booed at race tracks across the multiverse. It doesn’t bother me – actually amuses me a little bit. I know it bothered Clarissa a lot, but, you know, there’s a rule. If people are making noise about you, that’s a good thing – whether you’re getting booed or you’re getting cheered, it means that people give a damn. And Clarissa should know that you can’t please everyone – eventually someone will hate you for your success.

Shepherd: Do you think the boos will go away?
Drake: Nah. And that group getting so much attention from people – from the Valentians and from Derrick Carlisle – that’ll only empower them.

Doug Goodman, the Hapilopper Television Network: Drake, thoughts on the leadership situation at Team Blue?
Drake: I think it’s in good shape. Preston Autos is having to move a little quicker than they expected, and I’m not really at liberty to discuss it further, but I think we should be announcing something soon.

Goodman: Another question – Taylor Henderson was seen on your pit box last weekend, what’s going on between you two?
Drake: Nothing. We just… we just got together to discuss what had happened in the past and we decided to let bygones be bygones and wish each other the best as we go forward. Hendo has big plans on her own, I don’t think you’ll see her in a race car ever again, but when she and I talked, she was really excited with what her future looked like.

Goodman: Why don’t you think she’ll be in a race car again?
Drake: Because, through one reason or another – and there’s a few – she was soured on the sport of racing. But she’s got other plans and I think she wants to do that without the glare of the media spotlight. So that’s all I’m going to say on that.

Ross Thomas, the Hampton Cities Observer: This past week, you noted on twii.tur that you were willing to split Bo Baludo’s fine with Kai Qiang. Any update on that, now that the fines have been announced? And what’s the deal between you and Qiang?
Drake: I’d need to speak to Qiang about his side, but if he’s willing to do it, I’ve got a $50,000 check ready to go to NSSCRA for Bo’s fine. But that depends on what Qiang wants to do. As for the deal with me and Qiang, I don’t know if ‘friends’ is anywhere near the right way to describe us – the two of us have had a history and it’s not all good. But I’ve got a hell of a lot of respect for him – and a lot more than most of those boys out on the track, and I’ve found that working with him is a hell of a lot easier than most of the field. You work with him, you’re gonna win.

QUESTIONS FOR CHRIS HOLMES
SKYNET Sports: Why do you deserve that remaining Chase spot?
Chris Holmes: Because we’ve been running up front most of the season, and we’re probably one move away from getting a win. Jalton has always been real good to us over the years – Chet nearly won here wearing a chicken suit, Hendo won here a few years ago, Drake won the regular season title here, I think we’ve got a great shot this weekend, and I think now would be a great time to get a win.

I feel like we’ve been biding our time all season long and we get real strong come Chase time, so we get that Chase spot, we’re going to be tough to beat.

Doug Goodman, the Hapilopper Television Network: I have two questions. First, your thoughts on Frank Bronson and Amanda McAlister working at Rocket Motorsports, and would you consider following them? Also, your thoughts on the current leadership situation at Team Blue?
Holmes: That’s three questions.
Goodman: Yeah, well…
Holmes: As for your first two questions, good for them. Frank’s got a wealth of knowledge that he brings to the table and Amanda’s a great money person, they can only help Rocket move to the front of the field. Rocket will win races with Frank and Amanda. That’s a fact. But it won’t be with me. I am very happy where I am at Team Blue. I’ve got a family in Hapilopper City that I don’t want to relocate. I’ve got a group of people that are there for me every step of the way. It’s nothing against Rocket – but I’m very happy with where I’m at.

Goodman: As for the current leadership situation…
Holmes: Let me try to word this properly because a lot of this I’m not completely at liberty to discuss all of this. And I’m not trying to keep anything from you guys – it’s just, there are things happening behind the scenes that I don’t want to mess up. But Marty and the rest of the guys are doing something great behind the scenes and I think there’ll be an announcement soon.

Steven Bruce, the Buckridge Sentinel: Chris, a lot of people view you as the best driver without a win this season. Why haven’t you won yet?
Holmes: Bad luck, tough competition, the breaks haven’t gone our way, there’s a bunch of reasons. There’s a lot that has to go your way to win in this series. This is the most competitive form of motorsport in the multiverse, and I’d say there’s probably 30 guys out there each week that could conceivably win a race. You have to be absolutely perfect on the race track – every line must be right on every lap. Your crew has to be perfect – one messed up lugnut and somebody will go past you. That’s just the nature of NSSCRA racing. The quality of the field up at the front of the field is just so high that you have to bring your A-Game every single race. And even if you do, it still sometimes isn’t good enough.

(Someone else from an international outlet): Chris, thoughts on Hapiloppian fans booing the Valentians?
Holmes: That’s their right. We’re professional athletes and not everyone will like you – no matter what you do. You buy a ticket to see an event, cheer us, boo us, tell us we suck, whatever. As long as you’re not throwing anything at us or you’re not crossing that border to attack us, then that’s fine. If someone goes into this thinking everyone will like them, if someone has this naïve idea that nobody will hate them, well, I’m sorry, but wake up and smell reality. There’s people that hate my guts all over the multiverse. And that’s fine. That’s their right, just as it was those guys’ right to boo Clarissa. It’s not worth crying about.

(Another international reporter): Chris, I know you don’t drink anymore – what are you going to do with all the Blood Moon?
Holmes: I have a few beers from time to time, but I don’t need, how much beer is that?
(Reporter): 50 12-packs.
Holmes: 50 12 packs? Jesus, that’s a lot of beer. I guess… split it between Drake and Rinzi. I know Drake has a big-ass beer fridge in his apartment and I imagine Rinzi’s probably got some place in that house of his. But if Angela saw me come home with… (thinks about it a bit) …600 beers… holy shit, 600 beers? Yeah, if Angela saw me come home with a 600-pack of beer I think she’d assume I had fallen off the wagon.

Jalton. Saint Kanye. The GGfx Graphics Cards 450 on Saturday. The Pencurve Electronics 500 on Sunday. Here in Saint Kanye, the Chasers will be solidified...and you can cut the tension with a knife. Jalton has always served as our regular-season finale, the last chance that drivers have to book their tickets into the Chase that is to follow, and the Superspeedway has always been a great place for fates to be decided. The question is, who will this track favour this time...and who will be left behind?

But before that, media questions time!
Q1: To those yet to make the Chase, Why do you deserve that remaining Chase spot?
MRJ: I've felt like I've been at my most consistent thus far. If I were to miss out now after all that, I guess I would feel...incomplete. I belong in the Chase...and hopefully, I'll be there.
AJ: I know this season hasn't been my best...but I've been in there before and deserve another shot. I know what I can do when I'm in there and so, I feel like that's enough to warrant me a place.
AxC: Well...I'd say my rookie season has been a bit of a success, you know? I've been on the podium multiple times and while I haven't won a race yet, I actually feel confident in how I'm carrying myself in the car. I know I'm unproven...but I'd the shot of the big time, you know?

Q2: To those already in, This season's Chase field certainly feels different than it does in seasons prior. What are your thoughts on this?
MS: I wouldn't really say it "feels different", to be honest...it's just that we have so many good drivers here that at least 25 of them probably deserve to be in at any one time - and we only have 16 spots. Rustam Ilyich Yudin is probably the only surprise in my opinion.
AF: I feel like we've seen the return of drivers like Alvarez and Tiones along with the fall of drivers like Lam and Anastasia. Turnover happens, it's what you get when only 16 drivers can make it in so...yeah.
GG: Everlong is Everlong...there is nothing certain down there. That is all.

Q3: To the Rookies, What are your opinions on how your first NSSCRA season has gone so far? Is it any different from what you're used to? If so, how?
AxC: Well...it certainly does feel different. Of course, I went through a cutthroat process just to be on this team and so that kinda prepared me for this...but once you're on the track, you can fully appreciate just how tough it is out there. It has been a learning curve...but I think I did OK, you know?

Qualifying for the Pencurve Electronics 500 would certainly be tense and considering what happened, deservedly so. Chris Holmes would end up claiming a precious pole position over teammate Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal and Stacie Houston in a session which would see the JR drivers spread out across the Top 20 - with Alfonso "Cyclone" Mercado (@AM64) in P7, Michael "Kaiser" Stefan (@Stefan07) in P16 and Maddison Riley-Jones (@MaddyRJ03) hoping to make a final push for the Chase from P19. HM would see themselves starting further back with Lam Chow-Cheung in P28 and Aurélia Karvonen in P36. This was the first weekend involving the new charters in place and that would see the new charters in place and they would see Daryl Calhoun as best of the newbies in P26, Cocoabo #28 in P31 and Tyson Hoyt in P34. Those who joined them would be Anna Star Joy Thanda Pwint Thinzar Nwe (P22), Ashley Matthews (P27, who will be leaving at the end of the season), Roland Anson (P37), Joachim Murat (P40), Wang Anjiao (P41) and Hong Baek-Man (P44). The open charters are Pyotr Lavrentiev in P17 and Nathaniel Van De Soubre in P29.

Meanwhile, the GGfx Graphics Cards 450 was where the real Saturday Main Event was and oh boy, do we have shit to talk about. Our own Alice Jepkosgei (@AJ96) was in Chase Chasing Mode and she would start on pole over Lotara Novorali and Michelle Kass Evelyn Vítková Pavlína. As for everyone else, Gongming Gao (@GG70) wouldn't be too far behind in P4 while Ilmari Pëkannen was P14, Axel Chase (@AxChase) was P22 and Kaarina Salo down in P27. We expected this race to be as chaotic as anything can be and that's exactly how things would play out, with 5 drivers failing to make it home. Salo ended up last of the runners in 32nd, Chase was P28, Ilmari was P20, AJ was P15 and Gao ended up where he started in P4 as Alex Remington claimed a 2nd win of the campaign over compatriot Edmund Flanders and Lexi Patterson. The final table was as follows:
In By Win: Michelle KEVP, Lexi (2), Flanders (2), Gao, VVSC (3), Sage (2), Cocoabo ##37, Remington (2), Motorai, Ilmari
In By Points: Lavrentiev (Regular Season Champ), Novorali, AxChase, Ezis, Milwork, MAAR

First 4 Out: AJ (-3), Adriana KEL (-3), Joyln MCC (-7), Meredith (-12)

Pyotr Lavrentiev won the Regular Season despite not winning a single race...which only goes to show the chaos of this division. Gao, AxChase and Ilmari all made it in...while AJ and Salo did not. 3/5 is not too bad, though some will certainly be sadder than others.

Next time, the Cup series decided the final 3 in...and things are going to be cutthroat.

Questions (Kysymyksiä/問題)

Postby Kimi-Suomi » Wed May 03, 2023 2:11 pm

Question to HM's NSSCRA departments, before any action got underway.

Q1: Why do you deserve that remaining Chase spot?
LCC: "Uhh...to be honest...I don't know if I do. I've not been at my best, I know that, and my position at the table...reflects that. If I do make it in then yeah, maybe I did deserve it. But right now...I don't know."
AK: "If I did make it in, it would be a fucking miracle...but sometimes, those do happen - Fiona Sunarya won a race as a non-charter in the past, so maybe I'm not totally out of the picture just yet?"
KS: "It's been the ambition of HM to have both me and Ilmari fight it out for that T1 seat in the Chase, so I hope to get in just to fulfil that. If I can't get in, then I don't know what the Pomo is going to do to decide between us."

Q2: This season's Chase field certainly feels different than it does in seasons prior. What are your thoughts on this?
IP: The EverLong is always unpredictable and out of the two series, it is also the one with the most turnover. So you can understand why it has a different feel to it all. As far as I can tell, T1 is stacked full of talents and any one of them could feasibly get in...so it's understandable to see things where they are right now.

Why do you deserve that remaining Chase spot?

Zhu: I probably don't, but we'll see what happens.
Ongmu: [yeti noises]

This season's Chase field certainly feels different than it does in seasons prior. What are your thoughts on this?

Qiang: You guys ask that every year.

Okay, but what are your thoughts about this year's Chase field?

Qiang: Except for Yudin, it's kind of the usual suspects.
Zhu: I really hope Tsering makes the cut.
Ongmu: [yeti noises]

What are your opinions on how your first NSSCRA season has gone so far? Is it any different from what you're used to? If so, how?

Ongmu: [lots of yeti noises]

Likewise with you, opinions on your new team?

Zhu: They're great people. It's just too bad we couldn't get better results. It's been a tough season.

@TeamTrop

A Solid Day for @TeamTrop to close out #HapEx at the Exhibition 500. A Top 10 Finish for @Centur will put the driver of the #2 just 13 points back of the points lead heading into the regular season finale at the Jalton Superspeedway. Both the #1 and #3 teams will need a victory at the Pencurve to join Tiones in the Playoffs

@TionesLumber

We'll be back out in full force with our @TionesLumber family to cheer on @Centur and the #2 Team as they seek a regular season title in Jalton. If Tiones can take the top spot in the standings headed into the playoffs it will be 50% off all Lumber Orders placed the Monday following the 500. Serious discounts. Lets Go Centur!

Well I was going to head back to Tropicoast but there was some Tropical Storm Maggie thing going on and I was the only one scheduled to head back to the shop after #HapEx. Now, instead of getting some simulator time in I'm just headed straight to Jalton for the regular season finale covering the Multiveral Cup Series, Everlong and @AOCAR series. Should be plenty to watch on track, at least. Also nice to see my former teammate #Cocoabo28 snag a guaranteed charter spot for the rest of the season.

@Motorai

Another terrible day on track for the Coleman and Thorne 400. The #98 Hybrdi Dart just didn't have the speed to lead and we got shuffled out of the pack late on. Finished the race, which is great, but weren't quite as lucky with the timing of the yellows. Thankfully we got all three #TeamTrop drivers into the Everlong Contenders Series Playoffs and hopefully I can be the one to deliver the team its first ever title in Stock Car racing

Media Day Questions - Team Tsunopin

Good morning everybody. Let's start by talking about the elephant in the room. What are your thoughts on the $100,000 NSD fine you and Mr. Malo Boludo had received for the you guys' scuffle?

Ilya Tsunopin: I believe that it was an unwarranted attack on me taken by Mr. Boludo, who no doubt was happy to throw his weight on me for me expressing my love towards my idol. That said, a fine's a fine and it's already paid with the loyalties from my album two years ago, multi-million seller 'Guillin', and am ready to not fight the Fourth World War over it. Not the best of ideas considering the cyclone that has hit the nearby Vilitan Cove as well - you never know what the fuck could happen.

Thank you. Moving on, a general question: Why do you deserve that remaining Chase spot?

Ilya Tsunopin: Do I? Well I'm not exactly in a position to say that, but I do think that I have shown consistent progress over the course of the regular season that if on a blue moon's chance I be selected, I know I earned the right. It wasn't just something that I have fought through money or pure talent, but everything that I had worked up to it involved good effort. Even if it didn't immediately show. I hope this was more apparent this time around.

Cocoabo #28: [answers in a Cocoabo language suggesting that he's done well in spite of not having a Chase spot, and that he would definitely be within the race if selected].

This season's Chase field certainly feels different than it does in seasons prior. What are your thoughts on this?

Wang Anjiao: Does it really feel different? If I be honest, I do not think so - as with last season the circuit-defining names are still there, and those who have grown up watching them have really replaced them, so to speak. Hard to say whose fault is that - it's on us younger, relatively less proven drivers for not outracing out idols, for sure, but it's also on those stars of the field. With that in mind, I'll close with a famous shout of the circuit: WO AI NI QIANG KAI!

Ilya Tsunopin: WO AI NI QIANG KAI!

Anyways, I am in firm agreement with Mr. Wang right next to me about the Chase Field. There's continuity and consistency with the field here that we should be appreciating more, not disrespecting, and it is really up to us younger, relatively less-proven racers to prove the people wrong. Obviously we have the likes of Lam Chow-Cheung proving that wrong, but more should be stepping up to the plate really. Nothing new.

Thoughts on the recent situation with Team Blue, and how the leadership changes have affected them - for good or bad?

Ilya Tsunopin: Can we skip this question? We know that the trio of lads they have there are still swell and that we love them all equally so.

Wang Anjiao: I agree. We don't talk about stuff like that here. Positivity only please.

Sure, Mr. Tsunopin, what are your thoughts on the Henderson-Stevenson saga, especially after the HapEx occurrence?

Ilya Tsunopin: Why are you asking me on that? I love Drake (Stevenson) as much as I love Kai Qiang and Ricky Lee, let's say, but it's not exactly my business to wonder about. Next question please.

Cocoabo #28: [answers in a Cocoabo language that illustrates his thoughts around the situation, which becomes gossipy now and then]

Thank you. As for the other two drivers, Cocoabo #28 will be receiving the guaranteed charter effective this race. What are your thoughts on it?

Cocoabo #28: [answers in a Cocoabo language that suggests his gratitude, as well as interest in fighting more competitively for higher places down the line]

Wang Anjiao: If I be honest, I would have loved to receive one considering how much I have improved over the course of this season, and how the future suggests it so too. That said, I am more than happy for my friend, Cocoabo #28, to receive it and hope that all three of us will be regularly making the field down the line.
<Ilya Tsunopin> I LOVE YOU KAI QIANG

#14 River Shark Suzgar - Race Victories #16

Postby Vilita and Turori » Wed May 03, 2023 6:59 pm

"Shark" Secures Playoff Spot with Exhibition 500 Triumph

Image
Exhibition 500-Mile Race, Hapilopper City Raceway, Hapilopper :: Vilita and Turori Motorsports once again came into the weekend with lots of speed with all three of its full time drivers posting Top 10 efforts in the Vilaye Energy Drink Pole Award Qualifying session. River 'Shark' Suzgar II led the way with their 6th place run followed by Islago Tizilna in 7th and Yraaga Gilli'i in 9th position. While most of the top NSSCRA drivers had spent the better part of the last 2 weeks in Hapilopper competing not only at the HNE Half Mile in the NSSCRA Multiversal Cup Series event, but then sticking around the following week for the Berman Brothers Classic, Suzgar decided to return home to Vilita and focus solely on preparation for the Exhibition 500 Mile Race. Although Suzgar is a past winner of the Pencurve Electronics 500, both driver and team felt their best shot to lock in a playoff spot would come at the Hapilopper City Raceway where they felt that speed, patience and experience could win them the race opposed to just a little bit of each and a lotta-bit of luck in Jalton.

Ultimately, Suzgar's approach would pay off. Piloting the silvery looking #14 Hybrid Dart with the logos of The Dart Group prominently featured on the car, Suzgar would ride in the Top 5 all race long and take advantage of a late race yellow flag and some pit strategy to move to the top of the scoring pylon. From there, the veteran former NSSCRA Champion wasn't going to be denied. With control of their own destiny and a playoff berth at their finger tips, Suzgar held off the challenges from Team Blue drivers Rinzi Aogar Zakhilwal and Drake Stevenson - looking to win for their home town sponsors, and instead took the checkered flag and burned it down on the front straightaway with a giant advertisement for The Dart Group leaving rubber over the faded logos of the Super Skychief, the former naming partner of the race before it reverted back to the traditional Exhibition 500-mile race moniker.

With the victory Suzgar ensures that they will join teammate Yraaga Gilli'i in the Multiversal Chase for the Cup leaving only the teams third car, the #4 entry of Islago Tizilna with its fate still to be decided at the Pencurve. Tizilna will enter the Pencurve Electronics 500 11th in the Multiversal Cup Series standings and will be favored to advance to the Playoffs if they can post a Top 20 finish and can place ahead of Team Blue's #8 Chris Holmes and Jaguar Racing's #03 Maddison Riley-Jones in the final rundown. Tizilna enters the race with a useful but uncomfortable 10 point gap over their rivals for the final spot in the Multiversal Cup Series Playoffs, but it could all be undone should a winless driver from Outside the Top 16 in the standings claim an upset victory. With both Suzgar and Gilli'i already in the Playoffs it is likely that the duo will be focused on helping Tizilna stay at the front of the pack and in position to advance to the playoffs.

While the Pencurve Electronics 500 is certainly the main event of the weekend at the Jalton Superspeedway, both the AOCAR Stock Car Series and Everlong Contenders Series also wrap up their regular seasons at the track. AOCAR kicked things off on Friday with the Coleman and Thorne 400. It was a must-win event for Vilaye EnergySport driver Jama'obo Pegasii, defending champion of the AOCAR twii.tur Shootout. However, an accident took Pegasii out of contention and the driver of the #37 will not be in contention to defend their shootout title this season. Pegasii's teammate Kizara Mo'aaki finished 8th in the race and currently leads the AOCAR Stock Car Series standings.

It was a similar situation for Vilita and Turori Motorsports - Novorali Enterprises driver Turakki Mayelli heading into the Jalton Race Weekend in the Everlong Contenders Series, and similarly, Mayelli could not pull off the victory and will not be in contention for the Everlong Contenders series title this season. Mayelli struggled to a 25th place finish and with the success of Mo'aaki on the AOCAR circuit, may have some concerns about job security for NSSCRA Season 15. Novorali Enterprises teammates Rockii Ezis and Lotara Novorali were able to advance through to the Everlong Series Playoffs on Points despite the team being winless over the first 16 races of the season.

NSSCRA 14 - Challenge at the Rocks Preview

NSSCRA 14 | Round 17 Preview: Challenge at the Rocks

Vilaye Energy Drink 314, Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course, Rockii Coast, Vilita

The Vilaye Energy Drink 314 returns as the opening round of the NSSCRA Multiversal Chase for the Cup. The Challenge will also feature support events from the Everlong Contenders series and iBen's Race of Stars where it will host the opening round of Season 4. It is also the 3rd of 5 Five Star Combo events. The Vilaye Energy Drink 314 also known as The Challenge at the Rocks - the name that the event has historically had, has grown substantially since receiving an infusion of corporate sponsorship from the Vilisorma Beverage Company and a renaissance at the historic racing facility carved out of the Rock along the Vilitan coast. The relationship between the track and the Vilisorma Beverage Company has helped expand the appeal for fans with many new venues and events on site, a greatly expanded fan zone and even the introduction of a footsport pitch with local club Rockii Coast in town with free admission for race ticket holders on a first come first serve basis. It has also been cited as a critical connection for VilBev in expanding its Vilaye Energy Drink brand.

The event at the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course in Rockii Coast is now the longest running continuous event on the NSSCRA schedule, overtaking the long standing race event at the Concord Heights Raceway in Cassadaigua which was not contested from NSSCRA Season 11. Starting with NSSCRA Season 8 the Vilaye Energy Drink 314 has also been included as a part of the Five Star Combo program where Cassadaigua based Five Star Mobile offers Race Winners of some of the seasons biggest events with a monetary bonus.

The NSSCRA uses the original Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course which is a high speed banked road course and does not include use of 'The Boot' - an additional section off the backstretch which adds 20 seconds of low speed braking opportunity typically used during grand prix and open wheel competition.

The original challenge course consists of a wide-open high intensity speed park while The Grand Prix 'Boot' modification of the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course was a new addition to the facility in preparation for its inclusion in World Grand Prix Championship 11.

Where to Eat:

Inside of the pit area in the center of the track you will find the central eatery with all the local cuisine, as well as some brought to you by the other competing nations as well. Everything from meats to the meat free, things that fly, things that moo and things that swim. The "We'll Fry It!" location has become one of the most popular at the track season after season. The "We'll Fry It!" brand is actually banned from regular commerce on the main island of Vilita due to the perceived health risks, however, sporting venues such as the Vilitan Mountain Challenge Course regularly apply for and receive a waiver to allow the "We'll Fry It!" shop appeal to foreign and local fans. The business model is supreme as they don't supply any of the food with the price of the meal. The guest brings.... whatever they want... and "We'll Fry It" frys it for them. Fans who don't have anything to fry will still be able to participate in the fun as the staff on hand bring a large selection of various meats and candies that can be purchased and fried for an additional fee, but "We'll Fry It" will fry anything under 2 square feet in size for just 7 tures.

Outside of the paddock area, the hidden gem of the course is the famed Poultry Shack in Turn 13. The Poultry Shack is an absolutely exquisite source to quench that meaty craving and they will dish it any way you can handle it. You can walk away with a leg in your hand or even a cup of soup. Fans sometimes don't like to make the walk all the way to the Shack however, in addition to the food, the view is incredible looking out over the Vilitan cliffs over the Water. Visibility at turn 13 and the shack is thought to be amongst the most impressive in the entire Island.

Cocoa-bo will be on hand with their famous delectables with small stands serving their signature chocolate topped drinks throughout the facility as well as two full-service Cocoa-bo eateries - a new edition for this season, will serve as a social 'hang-out' for fans who are spending the whole weekend at the track offering items such as Bagels for the morning, Soups and Sandwiches for Lunch or Dinner and Salads for the entire day.

Where to access the drivers:

Drivers are readily accessible to those with a Paddock Pass. However, in the Paddock the drivers are working so fans are asked to to approach the drivers. Instead, let the drivers approach you. There will also be designated driver interaction zones for fans with scheduled driver appearances posted throughout the weekend. The Vilisorma Beverage Company has also invested in a new viewing area for fans where they can safely peer into the garage area behind a plexi-glass barrier as the teams prepare their cars for the on track activities.

Where to get Free Stuff or Prizes:

Image
Fans likely won't have to walk more than a few hundred yards without being coerced into taking a free sample of various products on display such as the local-based race title sponsor Vilaye Energy Drink.
