DECEMBER 2022 COMEBACK SZN BEGINS - GLORIOUS VICTORY FOR THE WARDENS AND ALL OUR BESTIES

REGION LIBERATED: NEW WESTPHALIA

The Order of The Grey Wardens is pleased to report the successful liberation of New Westphalia, where along with friends and allies, a coalition of griefers led by Lone Wolves United was beaten back after three updates of heavy fighting. Between update and non-update operation, over thirty members of The Order and its Expansions participated in the operation that culminated in a liberated New Westphalia. Following an initial siege at Major Update 12/18, a tactical operation was undertaken at Minor Update 12/18 to bump a different griefer lead in to the delegacy - preventing the appointment of a Border Control Regional Officer. At Major Update of 12/19, nearly 80 members of Libcord deployed into New Westphalia, joining the beachhead of the past two updates and placing the native delegate back in control of the region. The invading forces were summarily ejected and banned from the region, as an operation of 200+ people between the two sides concluded in an inspirational victory for advocates of regional sovereignty across the world. To be perfectly transparent, this is our first major liberation of the year, and we see it as a flashpoint from which further enthusiasm, momentum, and success can be built. Burnout can be rough, and with the combinations of general exhaustion, the crushing pain of capitalism, and those few months there was an "illegal script" issue, there was certainly a decline in enthusiasm and activity.

The energy that was put out tonight was infectious, and the long list of allies signifies the increased diplomatic net of those keen on preserving regional sovereignty. With many newer arrivals to the scene contributing a good number of troops, such as Africa, Saint Osmund, and Declansburg, seeing the umbrella expand can only be a positive. We look forward to working towards building more sustainable energy throughout the faction, and continuing to branch out to and seed growth in the regions that align with our ideologies. Huge thanks goes out to regions large and small, and the steps they all took to hype up their populace and truly add value to the cause. Beyond that, the perseverance of the native delegate cannot be ignored. Free City of Rigia was present at multiple updates, serving as a continued coordination point for endorsements between the defender staging point and the occupied region. It's always a pleasure to be able to empower native leadership to be able to take their regions back, and their heroic actions are a testament to the fortitude and hope that is exuded from those succeeding in founderless conditions.

Constable Thedaria Fueled by Flames

The Order of the Grey Wardens is pleased to announce the fiery hot promotion of Warden Constable Thedaria

After joining TGW command in October, Thed has made themselves an updating and internal development machine which has not gone unnoticed in The Order. Having been at the height of updating numbers each month and stepping up in leading major operations in Libcord leaves no question of Thed's already well-honed defender skill set that we seek out in Constable promotions. Even beyond that, Thed has demonstrated their commitment to TGW's community and creative talent in hosting various movie nights and games on top of being a significant help to me personally by taking over some of the aspects of our Factions quest system. A willingness to step up in strained areas, polished defender talent, and all-around helpfulness made this a smooth promotion offer from a Commander perspective. I have no doubt Thed and Varax working together as a Constable team as some of the upcoming members of the defender faction will continue to impress too

Featured Warden December 2022 - Thedaria

Joining NationStates in April 2020 shortly before the infamous Drewpocalypse, Thedaria (Thed) has been a hardworking and successful powerhouse. They got their start in 10000 Islands and quickly gained valuable cultural and military skills before eventually joining the Order earlier this year, quickly rising to the rank of Warden-Constable. To celebrate Nationstates coming back, Libcord took to the field ready to combat The Blight once more! Apparently, The Blight missed the memo, and no Darkspawn showed up. Not to be deterred, the brave custodians deployed across The World to clean up thirty-one regions from The Blight's traces. Shout-out to WS, who has recently returned to the ranks of the Wardens after being a free agent for a while. Great to have you back!
