F/A-18C Hornet Foxtrot Zulu Zulu; Flight of Three
On Patrol west of the Technate Airfield; Engaging Unresponsive Aircraft

Once the unidentified aicraft finished its conversation with the tower, the three F/A-18C Hornet's engaged. It was a quick affair. All three fired their air-to-air missile compliments at the unidentified aircraft, then engaged what was left over with the appropriate measures. There was a no-fly zone in order, strictly enforced. It had been stated, warned, and stated again. There would be no second chances. Whoever this party was that had joined in the fun clearly had not read up on recent events nor even cared to contribute in any reasonable fashion. They hadn't even had the courtesy to contact the Confederate forces for permission to enter. If they had just lied about being humanitarian...

Six AIM-9 Sidewinder Missiles were launched in quick secession from each Hornet, then the Hornets veered off course to get distance between them and the unidentified aircraft, prepared to launch additional missiles should the first not succeed.

A burst of flares immediately jettisoned out of the back, followed by a thick cloud of chaff and smoke. They had been prepared for this - the crew of Mohawk-7 were experienced smugglers, and had had to dodge their fair share of missiles in their time, especially during the early years of the Territories. The Chinese Government had a price on their heads, but nobody ever claimed it - although many had tried.

"Get those goddamn planes on the radio!" The pilot would scream, banking sharply to avoid the shrapnel. "We're flying neutral flags, even if this is a damned no fly zone those bastards should still be respecting neutrality - this weapons hot no radio in shit is going to spiral all of this out of con-"

"CAPTAIN, WE'VE GOT THEM ON THE LINE" The Radioman would scream from his position behind the pilot's chair.

"Mohawk-7 Actual to Unidentified Hornets, this is Mohawk-7 Actual. We are an unarmed non-military aircraft from a neutral trade state - if we have coopted your airspace by mistake, apologies... WE DIDN'T GET A GODDAMN RADIO BUZZ FROM YOU ASSHOLES!" He growled into the microphone, already continuing evasive maouevers to land on the airstrip. "For the love of God and the power of the Almighty, let us touch down and we can talk on the ground - we surrender or whatever, just stop shooting. There are unarmed civilians on-board here, with families and lives. At least let us get a word out!"

They were flying a genuinely unarmed (beyond the countermeasures they'd had installed specifically with this fear in mind) Airbus Beluga (coopted as part of the Triad Air intiative), and were all genuinely terrified. The pilots of the intercepting aircraft would be able to hear it plain as day.

"Please, we didn't know the situation, don't kill us... PLEASE."

With the war coming to a close, the Marajarbian Peacekeepers in the area began to wait. Of course, the peacekeepers would still continue in their duties of tending to noncombatants stuck in the conflict, while Marajarbian construction companies such as the Marajarbian Construction and Shipping Group were preparing for the war to end in order to assist in what was being seen as a long term rebuilding process, involving the development of high speed railways, as well as the redevelopment of various Gyzantian ports and bridges, especially Port Nithu should the Gyzantian Government lease the area to the Marajarbian Government.

Daniel Thomas himself, the Marajarbian Emperor, had heard of the news that Marajarbia and Janpia were likely to work together in rebuilding Colstrea, which is a diplomatic victory for Marajarbia both in the sense that the Countesians could no longer dictate what could happen within Colstrea, and cooperation between the two superpowers of Marajarbia and Janpia, who recently have been involved in a multitude of tensions, was somewhat of a must have in this particular case. This was, however, only one diplomatic victory for Marajarbia in this conflict. If the Port Nithu lease happened, it would be a victory for both Marajarbia and the Gyzantian people. Trade would be at an all time high, and inevitably the future would yet again be defined, for Gyzantia has many similarities in terms of brutality on a scale similar to the Tzatzikistani Civil War, creating progress and prosperity for any and all.

Of course, further diplomatic victories were possible, but uncertain. It would have to be left up to Mike Davis to use his diplomatic skills to assist in securing further diplomatic victories on the international stage.

Princess-Regent Alavaine would communicate directly to the Gyzantian political and military leadership, indicating that until food shipments had been regulated between the different factions forming the federation, food shipments would continue to Hatrap. A small force would be left behind, to organize these shipments and protect the air assets taking off and landing at the city's airport. Otherwise, the Royal Marine Division and the Royal Carrier Task Force would be leaving.

Their short deployment was over, and it was cause for much celebration. The Royal Marines, sailors and airmen committed to the operation had generally followed orders, paid for anything they had bought or were punished severely if they did not. (There were a few gauntlets for Marines, sailors or airmen who disobeyed which were shown to the public to signal how seriously the Sombrelanders took these orders). These were generally the only casualties that had been sustained. The only shots fired in anger had quickly been stopped, without casualties, which was fortunate for the growing amity between Sombreland and Anagonia.

Thus, the Royal Marines who had been deployed to Sikklosa now headed back to Hatrap, to re-embark on their ships and return home. What had begun as a war mission had ended as a peacekeeping mission, and a triumphant one at that, with the military force supporting the Princess-Regent's peacemaking efforts. Prince Jusus was particularly proud of his achievements, though privately he regretted a little not being able to show off the Royal Marine Division in combat. Still, his men had acted in an exemplary manner, particularly when it came to the tense situation with the Anagonians.

Admiral Dargon was relieved. He had been very uncertain about the mission, and had feared that his Carrier Task Force was on the edge of disaster, facing huge fleets of Janpian and Anagonian naval assets, which had vastly outnumbered him. While he was prepared, by his oaths, to die for the Princess-Regent, he had despaired at first at the idea of the loss of a fleet so recently built up and retrained.

Grand Admiral Teroth was especially delighted. He had demonstrated how useful the military reforms, restructuring and new equipment and technology were, and he was very pleased that the Princess-Regent had done so well with the policy direction and diplomacy. He felt newly confident that he had to simply do his job and that the Royal Court would do the rest.

With fond farewells, the expeditionary force began to depart, heading for home.

With the Treaty of Hatrus signed by all the factions of the war, and with foreign delegations also placing their approval in the document, events begin to unfold all around Gyzantia.

Over in Hatrus, while Paddlis began his journey to take off, he was asked by one reported, from the Polostrian News Network:

"With the end of the war, will you consider this a victory or a defeat of your cause?", in which Paddlis answers, "The war in the map might be over, but the political war has not yet ended. I will also announce now, that I will run in the 2023 elections. This has only just begun."

While Hess has not announced any ambitions after the war, he was still given the chance to continue his leadership in Colstrea until the 2023 elections, where the autonomous states and the mainland state will elect a new regional representative.

King Issia IV declared for Simon Herzland to be the temporary Prime Minister, but he will be given the chance to run for the next elections.

Peace has returned to Gyzantia, and its up to the New Government to maintain this peace.

Returning of POWs has also begun, and society is now back and running, repairing the damage the war has cost. The three-week war took tens of thousands of lives, with more civilian than military casualties. This war will be the remembered in the mind of the generation, a turning point in the balance of power in the continent, as the Versalian Republic and their alliance find this the perfect time to wage their war of liberation. Valaxia and its residents, together with the Gyzantian Researchers Of The Unknown (GROTU) has rejoined the federation after declaring their neutrality from the civil war. Gyzantia lost their stronghold in the Corolovian continent, being seized by the Corolovian Empire from their occupation during the chaos. Gyzantia is unofficialy declared "not" a great power in the planet, with its ruined economy, declaration of neutrality, and the effects of civil war.

Gyzantia needs time, lots of it, to reclaim the glory they once had as a great power.

The end...
