How has this post been reported for trolling when no gloating over the former Prime Minister is even highlighted here?

The majority of reports for trolling are getting silly, not to mention the actual rulings.

If no actual gloating can be pointed out, it cannot be classed as trolling.

Ambivalence is not gloating.

I'll also add, that trying to claim that the comment of calling those who care about basement dwellers is a stretch. Was this even the original poster's intention? Or is the comment referring to those who have not heard about the death of the former PM being basement dwellers?
Either way, the report is a tad flimsy overall.

So, he was shot for ties to the Moonies. Well, the Moonie stuff definitely explains his politics. Doesn't justify murder, though.
An alternate Samaria ruled by a king and elders from the ancient city of Shechem. It has its own tabernacle and priesthood on Mount Gerizim and high places, too.

Honestly, his political leanings were more explained by his membership in Nippon Kaigi than they were by any of his rather loose ties to the Unification Church…

I'm still surprised, of all things, that is what he got shot for.

The LDP has massively capitalized on his assassination to get a majority government in the election.

Not quite, this was a vote for the House of Councillors, not Representatives. They and Komeito were going to gain seats anyway according to the pre-assassination polls.

If memory serves from uni, the House of Councillors (the upper house) matters in Japan, unlike the party rubber stamp function of the House of Lords in the UK. A majority across the two houses would give the LDP a huge amount of political domination.

They could attempt to raise the Article 9 reform again, using Abe as a sort of rallying point. Whether successful or not, it will cause the PRC to be rightly concerned and to increase its military spending to prevent a sort of WWII scenario from repeating.

So does anyone know why Shinzo Abe had any ties to the Unification Church? Were they good donors of his?

Also, Fumio Kishida is seen to be softer than Abe on foreign policy. The LDP is a big tent conservative party with many factions with different flavours of conservatism.

The LDP has won almost every single election in Japan since its founding. It winning the latest House of Councillors election is not a "capitalization" of Abe's death but just a continuation of the LDP's dominance in Japanese elections. They haven't broken any new ground here, they're just continuing to do what they've always done and take the majority of seats despite not always getting a majority of votes

I believe that a shotgun made in a cave with a box of scraps in a flat with duct tape is still a shotgun.

His death might still have helped induce some voter sympathy.

...Voters are fickle, to say the least, although Japanese voters are some of the worst on the planet when it comes to apathetically voting the same party back into power again and again, even if they do everything wrong.

If every shooter in the US had to build their own gun there would be no shootings in the US.

I don't know a lot about the man or his politics, but my condolences to his family. I do wonder why anyone would go after a former prime minister for assassination; perhaps they held a grudge for his policies?

How come they keep winning? Isn’t the LDP a conservative party? Are there close to no liberals in Japan?
