"My name is Santosh," Neha said, "of the Worshipful Cherubim."

She was not worried about breaking character. It was part of her skillset, to slip into a role and play it to its utmost, add elaborations that no one would catch. The danger was that she would forget what she was there to do, to glean information that Santosh wouldn't pick up on.

Well, in most scenarios, that would be the danger. In this one, so much of DHA theology was entwined with faith that took shape only in their minds, inaccessible to the outside world. In order to truly infiltrate, would she have to lie to herself? Could she pull this off without becoming, on some level, a believer?

Nods, smiles. They were gathered in the home of Tarun, one of the leaders of this chapter. The DHA tended to not have permanent worship buildings, though they had several outdoor festivals.

One of the other members was immediately recognizable as not being ethnically Namirite. He was not a zebra, however, but rather a Jorvelki from Sharag. "My name is Einar," he said. "And, um, I haven't--I don't--there aren't any particular angels who have spoken to me. I guess I'm--closer to the Cherubim, I recognize that, and I don't want to step on the toes of any of the Seraphim devotees."

"That's all right," said Tarun. "Thanks for your honesty."

Einar blushed, and Neha sat back to listen to the discussions. Some of them had the feel of what she thought a support group looked like, although her investigations had not taken her to a great many support groups. But people raised issues they were facing in their lives, and others tried to offer suggestions.

A woman named Bachendri, it transpired, was experiencing some difficulties in her personal life. Prior to joining the DHA, she had been dating a certain Rupesh. Since her awakening, however, he was growing distant, and it seemed he did not approve of the archangels.

"It may be that he feels threatened," said Tarun, "because he's used to being in the mainstream. You need to remind him that you like him just as he is and you're not asking him to change; he just needs to accept you as you are."

"I don't necessarily think he is used to being in the mainstream," said Poojashree. "He might think you're acting out or attention-seeking. Make sure he knows that you're not being unfaithful, and he's the only one for you."

"It's hard for us to give advice to him when we've never met him," Tarun added. "You should bring him along and introduce him."

"I tried that," Bachendri pouted. "But he doesn't trust you, he thinks you're all crazy."

Neha considered whether Santosh would speak up. "Are you sure it's really worth it to date this guy?" she mused. "I mean, it sounds like he's not all that great."

Tarun nodded. "You can do better."

Neha made a mental note that Santosh was happily single. Getting set up with a DHA zealot was not her idea of a hot date.

"I don't know," Bachendri admitted. "I mean, if I break up with him--that'll just be proving his point, won't it? That I can't have both him and the Seraphim?"

"If he doesn't want you," Neha said, "cut your losses and move on. You can't force him to stay with you if he's not happy."

"Well, he should be! He loved me before, and I'm the same person I was, only with more knowledge of the truth! That shouldn't change anything!"

"When it comes to romance," Neha said, "people are often unreasonable." She did not add that that could apply to many of the people in the room.

The conversation moved on, to reports about a synod conference in 102d and whether the Namiri chapters would send a representative. Neha kept her ears pricked for any mention of a zebra, or even children in general, but nothing caught her attention. Once they started gossiping about the Zwangzug cycling circuit, the group began to scatter.

She took it as her cue to take her leave, as well, and tried to ignore Einar's glance lingering on her as she left.

DONTELL DONE
REPLACED BY RICHARD VALENS

Jody Dontell has been removed from his position as manager of the Ochre Islands and replaced with Krytenian Richard Valens. Dontell had been the team's manager since the country entered the world footballing stage 8 years ago, but after concerns from OIFA were noted following the failure of the CAFA3 campaign, the poor start to World Cup 91 qualifying was enough to see him lose his job.

As it turns out, two successive 2 - 0 losses to Sannyamathland and Fort McKinley have finally cost Dontell his role. An OIFA source told this newspaper that the board are extremely displeased with how both games played out, saying that whilst they didn't expect to walk the group, they expected 'more of a fight' to be put up toward pushing toward the playoff slots, and expecting goals to have been scored against lower-ranked opposition at the very least. Three of the Ochres five losses so far have seen them fail to score a single goal, in a 4 – 0 loss to Indusse and then finally the aforementioned 2 – 0 losses against Sannyamathland and Fort McKinley.

Ironically it was likely Dontell's remarkable success with the Ochres that may have been what cost him his job. Whilst finishing with an overall record of winning 52% of the matches he had managed may be seen as rather average, those games did include the Ochres CAFA2 victory, plus qualifying for World Cup 90 at only the Ochres second attempt at to do so. As it turned out, Dontell didn't come close to replicating this, seeing the Ochres crash out of CAFA3 without a single point in the group stage, then losing 5 of their first 8 games during qualifying for World Cup 91.

However, in a shocking turn of events, OIFA announced former Krytenia manager Richard Valens as the new manager within a few hours of Dontell's departure, leading to speculation that OIFA had been talking to him for a while. In a press conference when asked about taking the Ochre Islands job, Valens said 'I'm welcoming the challenge. It'll be difficult to turn around the team this far into qualifying, but we can lay the groundwork for the Cup of Harmony and CAFA to come. I'm here to turn things around n the long term.' He was also seemingly positive on OIFAs move to ensure more Ochre-born players are brought into the squad in the short term, adding The OIFA and myself are looking to tap into the wealth of potential footballing talent in the isles, through scouting and developing the grassroots game.

Though when asked whether he had been speaking to OIFA whilst Jody Dontell was still employed, Valens was more reserved, saying 'I've nothing to say on my predecessor - I just want to get on with the job at hand.' Speculation is therefore rising that talks were taking place whilst Dontell was employed, which has left a slight sour taste in the mouth of Ochre fans who were looking forward to a new reign.

Whilst not having much of a playing career, Richard Valens has managed Stanton Town and Chromatika, as well as his native Krytenia. Of course as comes with the Krytenia job, little to no success followed, but having some experience on the international stage automatically put him ahead of any Ochre-born candidate, as per OIFA's mandate for a new manager. Valens taking the role may see minor tactical changes, as well as also clearly satisfying OIFA's push for Ochre-born players replacing Bostopian born players as soon as possible.

Justin Hagely strolled out onto the pitch for his warm-up session.

The team was gathered around him. He could see it etched on their faces. Two one-goal losses right before a game against Brenecia, one of the top teams of the group, was not good for morale. Las Palomas had gone on a good run in the BoF, narrowly losing out in the Ro16. One-goal losses seemed to be their specialty. But Justin couldn't think negatively. He turned to the portable screen behind him. It was a regular training exercise to review a previous loss. Today, they would be reviewing two of them.

Justin picked up the remote and pressed play. They would only be looking at the highlights. As the Mertagne game introduction played, Justin was transported back...

Maphidon were sitting just above Mertagne in the table. This game was very important. It was a clash between two green nations. After the kickoff, the footage jumped to the first chance. Henry had gotten the ball near the sideline. He slipped it down the sides, into the waiting feet of Jospeh. Jospeh then turned and beautifully sent the ball between two Mertagne defenders. Like clockwork. The Maphidon style of play focused heavily on passing. It sort of worked for them in the BoF, but Justin had refined it and wanted to try it again. It had worked decently in the WCQ. The ball was cleared after a fumbled touch by Fatih, but Maphidon had made an important push. They were in this game. But a crushing moment would follow. Within 10 minutes, Mertagne put the game out of contention. In the 32", they fired home from outside the penalty area. Stade de la Lumière was silent. It's okay, Justin had thought at the time. We'll just go out and try to equalize. But Mertagne wasn't done. In the 40", Kaspr took down a Mertagne forward inside the area. It was a simple matter to fire home. After that, Maphidon had a few chances. Only in the second half did they get a consolation goal in the form of a beautiful run from Henry. He dodged three tackles and chipped the goalkeeper. But Maphidon couldn't fight back any more. They had lost.

"Okay, lads, what did we learn from the tape? We need to find improvements for our game." Justin surveyed the team for hands. "Yes, Henry?"

"Their defense was strong. You can't fault our defense for their goals. They were both unstoppable. But our offence couldn't take care of them."

"Good analysis. Anybody else?" Justin was surprised to see Ceiro's hand up. The younger goalkeeper didn't talk much.

"I think that we passed well, but not into space." Justin had actually noticed that too.

"Also a good observation." When no one else raised their hands, Justin played the next highlight reel.

This game was against Gyatso-kai. Las Palomas were away. They had played considerably well in this match, but it had still resulted in a loss. This time round, Maphidon got the early lead, scoring within five minutes. Henry Garcia Valenci ran over to the 5,000 Maphidon fans that had made the long trip for this match (although some of them just stayed in AO for the whole qualification and watched all the games) and saluted. His teammates swarmed him. But the opposition would retaliate. They managed to get on the scoresheet after 15 more minutes, making the score level after 20. It was an amazing cross that the Maphidon defense couldn't keep up with. Halftime came and went. The Maphidon players seemed to tire after that. Gyatso-kai nabbed two goals in quick succession to put the match out of Los Palomas hands. This was happening way too often. As with the previous game, Henry got the consolation goal for Maphidon, firing home a direct free-kick from 28 yards out. He was as prolific as in the BoF, but the opposition was much harder. It was quite the test for Maphidon. With this loss, they stayed firmly in 8th.

"I think we had many of the same problems in this game as in the other one. We need to sharpen our passing." The players nodded assent. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go sharpen your passing!" Justin called. As the players jogged on to the pitch, Justin knew the real test was about to come. Brenecia might beat them, but they weren't going down without a fight.

Medi-Ochre
By Stephen Williams in Bellflower, Ochre Islands

YOU just can't keep a good man down. Mere months after his unceremonious dumping onto the compost heap by the KFA, Richard Valens has found himself back in gainful employment. The former national team, Stanton Town, and Chromatika manager was last night unveiled as the new head coach of the Ochre Islands national team.

Valens faces an interesting challenge in Bellflower. The Ochre Islands rode high under previous manager Jody Dontell; as the nation emerged from the yoke of misrule under Emperor Boston, so the team emerged as a potential new powerhouse. The Ochres lifted the CAFA Cup in Emberton, and followed this up by qualifying for the last World Cup. Since then, though, the side has been on an alarming downturn. Their reign as champions of Anaia was ended in ignominious fashion, limping out of the competition without a point to their name, whilst their attempts to qualify for back-to-back World Cups looks to be pretty much over already. Five defeats in eight matches proved to be the writing on the wall for Dontell, and the embarrassment at the hands of lowly Fort McKinley brought the axe down upon his head.

Given the speed of the managerial turnaround, it seems likely that the OIFA were lining up Valens even before they made the change official; to be fair to the Krytenian, however, it's not like he had anything better to do whilst the Ochres were waiting for the opportunity to jettison their manager and install his replacement. Valens is coming into the job with an air of positivity as the OIFA look to properly "Ochreise" the footballing setup in the archipelago, removing the last vestiges of Bostopian influence in the game and concentrate on developing the sport from the ground up. It's clear that the OIFA, for better or worse, see their new national team manager as central to the purpose, and we here at the Cy'un wish him the best of luck...with one obvious exception.

Valens' second match, as it happens, will see him in familiar surroundings. Matchday Eleven sees the Ochres travelling to Emberton, as they face Krytenia at the Isserson. Whilst the manager may think that he has a material advantage having been, up until recently, the man in the other dugout, the Dragons are an entirely different animal under Brelk-Xeral Erv, and both BXE and the team in general would like nothing more than to prove to their friends to the west that the KFA made the right decision.
"I revel in the nonsense; it's why I'm in Anaia."

"Welcome back to the Smartbox, I'm Takahiro Nozawa, and I'm joined by a new face to the Squidroidian Leader campaign, former national team goalkeeper Go Kyushichi. Kyushichi, so glad that you're able to be on the show today."

"Thank you very much Nozawa. It's been an honor."

"So as far as I know, you're the only person with zero political experience going into the campaign out of the 5 we already know. Kamiya, Nishimura, Fujiwara and even Sakiko Tamaguchi at least have some politics down their belt, while you're just going into this as a complete outsider with only a footballing career as your legacy. What do you think of this?"

"I mean hey, anybody can run for the role and the job, so why not me, a nobody in politics? But really, I think I have a voice that matters to the Squidroidian people. We have people on the left and on the right, people who want to build this country and people who want to destroy it, but there isn't no middle ground. That's where I come in. I'm listening to the entire Squidroidian population and I'm making sure everyone's voice is heard."

"With the likes of Kamiya and Tamaguchi wanting to make Squidroidia have a party-focused parliament system instead of the independent system we have now, which are you leaning towards?"

"To be honest, I love the system we have today. Not really having any political parties except for small regionals and the odd national party is the charm of the Squidroidian Parliament. I want to keep it that way. Let them represent themselves, not an arbitrary party, because if we ever go down a 2 party path things would be drastically worse."

"I like it, Kyushichi. There's been rumors regarding the Squidroidian Super League with teams unable to sustain themselves after the failure to establish a major multi-national television deal. I know you don't run the SFA, but as a hypothetical, would the government under your rule step in and bail out the clubs?"

"As someone with an interest in football in this country, what the SFA, as well as the Super League collective of 16 clubs, is not really representative of the opportunity given in Squidroidian football. Look at KC's run to lift the Squidroidian Cup as part of the double with the Pro League. In any other system they would be promoted at the first time of asking and might challenge the big clubs in a few years, but with this system they have to wait 5 more years to make it into the top step and navigate all the tournaments in order to have a shot at winning the title. I would tell them to get off their butts and implement pro/rel or otherwise they'll cease to exist. Simple as that."

"Finally Kyushichi, what do you want to say to the Squidroidian people?"

"Uh... Squidroidia, if I can save shots, I can save your nation. That's all."

"Thank you very much Kyushichi."

"You too."

Aaliyah Lust for Naked News Jeruselem ...

Hey! This is Aaliyah Lust reporting for Naked News Jeruselem.
This report isn't actually related to football or even the World Cup 91 coverage.
Actually it's got nothing to with my World Cup 91 duties really.
But because of the World Cup 91, I'm travelling the world to weird places even other Naked News Jeruselem reports have never been before.
I'm not new to travelling overseas, because as an adult movie star I get invited sometimes to other countries to ... well help out with their ... productions of ... special movies.
And sometimes, fans just want to see me for real in the flesh - preferably without clothes ...

I have ten tips for travelling the world as safely as possible ... but all travel has risk, it's just travelling overseas you have even less control over that risk.

Research the destination! You don't go to another country and know nothing about. You have to know something about destination so you don't get into trouble for not knowing the local customs and laws especially those nazis who work in the customs section. Also if they don't speak any languages you know, you should learn some of the local language enough to get you out of trouble. I'm saying be an expert on that country but know enough to avoid being locked and thrown of the place.

So you've picked somewhere you actually want to go. If you're going be there for reasonable amount of time, make sure you can pay for things. In Jeruselem, you can use use crypto, our local worthless fiat or even precious metals because we take just about anything reasonable as payment. Other countries might not be so flexible as some only transact in their local currency or some may not even have ... electronic money or crypto transactions so you have to deal with their banknotes or coins. Advanced nations may not pose issues but within a country, there's going be differences as well. There may not be Internets in a rural area for example. Oh yes, carrying around large amounts of cash isn't a good idea at airports, people may think you're money launderer.

If there's one thing that will be different in another country is ... FOOD. If you have specific issues with types of food due to medical condition or just crappy genetics, just don't go a place where those foods are everyday. Which also means never assume food being served does not have those types of trigger in them as well, if it doubt ask first or get someone who knows the local language to ask first. A visual inspection of the food doesn't always pick up the potential allergen. Sometimes menus aren't in a language you can read so get a local help out to avoid confusion. You don't want to find out that chicken you had was actually dog meat for example.

Know your medical conditions! If you go to another country, you might have a medical episode and they will not have access to medical records at home. And then have record of what medications you're kinda allergic to with you. Of course, you cannot assume your health treatment will be free so expect to pay something for it. Travel insurance with that country covering medical expenses becomes useful if this happens but some countries might have that arrangement as well. You might luck out and they do it for free anyway. Still never assume you're not going get sick overseas, most of the time you might get an annoying virus or have a local bug to the other extreme - a life threatening accident.

The diplomatic stance with the other country with the home one is huge factor. In general it's friendly, neutral or hostile just simplify it. Yes there's shades between those ... but I want to keep it simple. Friendly nations make it easy for nationals of each to travel between place and even offer some benefits for their political alliances. Neutral is the most common and both countries don't apply favourism so you get well indifferent results dependinng on how lax or strict national travel laws are. Then hostile, meaning there's pretty much a war or proxy war ... so you don't go there unless necessary. World Cup does affect this as you aren't allowed to kill your opponent's teams as you have pretend to be nice to them.

Know the local laws, well the important ones. I'm not expecting people learn every silly obscure laws in that country. Jeruselem sure has some weird laws, even the locals don't know about. There's a chance you might fall foul of those but at least know about the ones that matter and well are rather obvious. Every country is different, and their laws are different. Some countries have say religious and civilian laws being the one the same while say in Jeruselem, religious aren't applied to visitors but civilians ones are. And then there's military laws which can be a pain in the ass if that nation is run by the military. Just know enough laws to keep out of trouble.

Another tip is get someone local help out. As a visitor who has never been to country, sometimes having local who understands their own country is a helpful guide to avoid getting into trouble by misadventure. Just make sure this person isn't some scammer which happens. There's always people who are happy to become your tour guide for money of course, they don't this for free. Jeruselem has lots of people are tour guides, most of them young attractive females for some reason like me. I guess that's why people come here.

Not every country has Internets, so don't expect Internet access. You might on a cruise ship but we all know cruise ship Internets suck. But saying that, if the place has mobile phones they'll probably have Internets as well. So this isn't problem in most places unless it's some ... super religious hermit nation or something.

Just remember, everyone in other country is not going behave like people at home. Because they are culturally, economically, socially and religiously different in upbringing. So they can think different to from so you have kinda accept that and be flexible. A lot of visitors get shocked but the amount of half dressed women around Jeruselem, because at home that would be so shameful just to do it. I have to be very careful when I'm overseas because they are far more strict on what you wear. So each country does thing differently, and we have to accept this. Some have far more freedoms while others just do things like they did a few hundred years ago. Each to their own, you have accept this.

And one last thing. As visitor you're learning about that country, and how it's different. It's not the best thing to try to push your standards on other people, well that applies in general even at home! Travel teaches you about others who are different and how each of us are also the same in some regards. I mean other world cup nations are humans but of course some are sentient species which are not human. One of our best friends of Jeruselem were Bears Armed, a nation of sentient bears despite half of Jeruselem being genetically allergic to ... bears. Please note the nation of Ranoria in Group 4 are human and not a bunch of bears even if they call themselves the Snow Bears.

So that's international travel, respect your home and respect the home of others because if you do, they'll respect you too.
Well, most of the time ... there's always some people who can't please. Nevermind.

'FIRE! FIRE!'

Several people are screaming and running here and there as smoke and fire engulf one building in the area. Yes, there is a fire and it is happen in Gili Anakan Military Base which is control by Pemecutan Armed Forces. The situation is chaotic as the fire happen at dawn. No one is really paying attention as the fire start to burn down the logistic building. Local firefighters are given permit to enter the restricted area and help the soldiers there to put down the fire.

'What is happening here?' ask a buff man with square jaw as he looking to the firefighters.
'Your logistics building is burn, Sir. We are trying to put down the fire before it reached other building,' explain one of the firefighter.
Captain, have the ammo been evacuated? The storage building is next to it, right?' ask the man who is none other than Colonel Ari Wirasatya, the commander of the base.
Yes, Sir. The ammo have been evacuated to the save place,' answer Captain Wira Prakasa.
'I wonder what's causing this incident. It never happen before,' murmured Colonel Wirasatya.
'Do you think someone might sabotage it, Sir?' ask Captain Prakasa.
'Don't jump into conclusion that fast. We'll wait until the whole investigation is clear about it,' rebuff Colonel Wirasatya.
'I'm sorry, Sir,' say Captain Prakasa. Both of them see a lot of people go here and there. Putting down the fire and evacuate the ammo.
'Has the command center been informed about this?' ask Colonel Wirasatya again.
'Our communication officers have informed them, Sir,' answer Captain Prakasa in a firm voice.
Colonel Wirasatya nodded. 'What is really going on here,' he thoughts.

The Heat Burn

The situation in the capital is not much different after the Patih Agung call several ministers and government officials for a closed meeting. Partayasa, Sukmahadi and Anggayudha are summon for the meeting. Another addition is General Damar Wedakrama, the chief of Pemecutan Armed Forces.

'Thank you everyone to be present in a short notice. We are having a serious issue this morning. I believe all of you have heard about the incident in our military base in Gili Anakan,' say Patih Agung Kusumajaya as he open the closed meeting.

On the teleconference is Colonel Wirasatya who is also invited by Patih Agung. Ambassador Jaya Hadi and Consul Maya Larasati are also present via teleconference.

'Can you explain how the situation there now, Mr. Colonel?' ask Patih Agung.
'Yes, Sir. The situation is already conducive. The fire have been put down after 6 hours. We are still checking the loss and our current logistics,' answer Colonel Wirasatya.
'Have the cause of the fire been found?' ask General Wedakrama.
'Yes, Sir,' say Colonel Wirasatya while presented a deformed box.
'What is that?' ask Patih Agung in curiosity although he is a little shock too.
'This things were found inside the logistics crate that was delivered yesterday. This looks like a slow bomb.'
'Slow bomb?' interrupt Patih Agung while everyone in the room murmured about the revelation.
'It's a kind of low explosive bomb that needs time to be explode. It doesn't give a loud sound but it triggered fire that can turn massive. It seems like the bomb have been activated when the crate was arrived yesterday,' explain Colonel Wirasatya.
'Have you trace who delivered the crate?' ask General Wedakrama.
'They use the same car as our contracted supplier. We still waited confirmation about this to the supplier,' answer Colonel Wirasatya.
'This is insane,' murmur Defense Minister, Sukmahadi. 'We have to do something, Sir,' he say.
'We can't do anything until we know for sure. Don't be reckless,' argue Patih Agung. 'How about the situation in Ampenan and Selaparang?' now he turn to Jaya Hadi and Larasati.
'The protesters are still outside the embassy gate. But not as much as yesterday,' informed Jaya Hadi.
'We are still in the safe house as the consulate office is also damage because of the riots. But we can't go near the building as the protesters blockade it,' say Larasati.
'The situation in Selaparang is not getting better. And so does in the social media. Many hate comments are aimed to our government,' add Partayasa.

Patih Agung sighing. He can't believe the situation have become more serious than what he thoughts.
'Any news from the intelligent?' he turn to Anggayudha.
'Negative, Sir. They're position is always change so it is hard to locate them. They are also know more about the environment there. We have collected some of the places that they use for their meetings before. We can track them from there. But we can confirmed that they are centered in Selaparang,' explain Anggayudha.
'Enhance your investigation. We can't be missed anymore,' adviced Patih Agung. 'And for all of you there. Enhance the guard. Anything can happen next. Be careful,' add him.
'Yes, Sir!' Colonel Wirasatya, Jaya Hadi and Larasati say it together before the teleconference is cut.

'Can't we give them sanction or something?' ask Sukmahadi that makes everyone in the room go silent.

The palace press room is flock with reporters from domestic and abroad. Everyone is eager to find out the government reaction with the current situation in Cakranegara that escalate so quickly. A flash of lights from the reporters are filling the room as the government spokesperson enter the room. She is Devi Widyaputri. She adjusted the mic in front of her before she start to give the statement.

Good afternoon, everyone. We are aware with the situation in Cakranegara have become worst than what we thought. It is something unfortunate that none of us believe it becoming. We, as the government of Pemecutan is condemn the harsh behaviours that was conducted in Cakranegara especially the fire and riots in Selaparang and recently the fire at our military base in Gili Anakan. We are also addressing that we, the Government of Pemecutan have no connection to any of the accusation that is aimed towards our government. It is simply a false accusations. We are completely support the referendum of Cakranegara and work closely for Cakranegara to assume their sovereignty. As our position as protector and caretaker have been due. We are fully respect the sovereignty of Cakranegara and never in our mind to think otherwise.

We are hope that from this statement, we both end all of the commotion that have happen in recent days. And work together for a better future in the region. And for a better relationship and cooperation between Pemecutan and Cakranegara. Once again, we're condemn the action that have happened and hope that it will end from this moment on.

After the statement is over, Devi Widyaputri, the spokesperson, left the press room. While the eager reporters try to ask for more explanation about the recent situation happens.
'I'm sorry everyone. No Q&A session this time,' say the guard which makes the reporters hopeless.

'Filthy prick!, a man with all white clothes throw away the television remote as he watch the statement from Pemecutan government that is being aired exclusively in Cakranegara.
'What do we do now, Sir?' ask another man who is seating next to him.
'We can do something. Anything as long as Pemecutan is out of here. Our government is so weak. They just do what's the Pemecutanian ask them to do,' say the white clothed man with an angry tone.
'Do you want us to revolt?' ask the other man.
'No. Not yet. We do plan B,' answer the white clothed man.
'Plan B?' the other man seems confused.
'Yeah,' say the white clothed man with a smirk on his face.

On the grim streets of North Hall's more impoverished districts, Dorcas Swain could always look after herself.
She was a tough, weather-beaten woman in her early 60s or so, without retirement even on the radar. She'd run her modest little tobacconist pretty much as long as anyone could remember; sold all the usual things, but the specialty, really, was that on cold winter days she'd break out the oven and start turning rotisserie chickens into cheap sandwiches on good, hard marcher bread. Never service with a smile, though she might make a pass at you if you were un/lucky. But she was a fixture, whatever you thought.
Why move from Nephara to Brenecia? Swain always just said she wanted to take advantage of cheap rent. Well, fair enough. And the opportunity to run a business unlikely to have been practical in Nephara's claustrophobic urban cityscapes. Far easier to carve out enough elbow room in sprawling Brenecia, and Swain's elbows were as sharp as any.
She knew where to take losses and where to save. It wasn't a business built to extract every penny, but it kept her living by, and for as long as anyone could remember she'd been there, trading on the lower floor, living above.
The first time, someone painted a crude drawing of a cormorant on her door. She found it in the morning, surrounded by witnesses, and did not comment; merely grumbled as she went back inside, to go wash the damn thing off. She wasn't Nepharan anymore. She sure as hell wasn't Brenecian. She was just ... Dorcas Swain. And no teenage footpad was going to intimidate her, not even when someone threw a brick through that window the next day.
Her mood was foul, then. She chuckled darkly in front of customers, murmuring dark fantasies about grabbing the wretch and wringing his neck, and mothers smiled politely and took out their children, hands over their ears.
The third time, close to 3am, it was a molotov cocktail.
As ever, she was sleeping upstairs. There was nowhere to run.

THE BRENECIAN SITUATION - PRELIMINARY REPORT
Current tensions, patterns of conflict and potential solutions in the east

NSIA / DoTFA collaborative report
Aggregated by Felix Hagen

RATIONALE
Tensions are rising to a fever pitch in Brenecia, and while so far Corvistone has had semingly no intention to engage with them, the deaths of three Nepharan nationals in recent days - in seemingly nationalistic crimes - has raised interest. A brief overview was commissioned by the NSIA Head in order to apprise all state agents in that region of the current situation, to ensure that a base level of understanding can be relied upon should Nephara take measures, and thus that those measures be informed.

BACKGROUND
Brenecia has been in a vulnerable political climate for years, now. Twenty years ago, Brenecia was hugely unstable, a weak government facing riots and and mass unrest. Confidence in the government was exceptionally low, but the populist Clarisse Ward took power pledging to stabilise the nation. While she did so, her methods -- strengthening the military and law enforcement, increasing government power over individuals and decreasing neutral oversight, and generally seizing control through any means necessary -- crossed the line into near martial law, and remained authoritarian even after she had crushed all instability. She took a hawkish, isolationist line with foreign powers, and sought to sever all connections with Nephara in particular.

Corvistone's doctrine at the time dictated maintaining a presence in Brenecia to attempt to covertly steady the ship; as a result, NSIA assets were deployed to safeguard the first credible rival candidate to emerge, former national team manager Catherine Bardsley and her League for Democratic Reform (LDR). Bardsley lost the first election, but won the second decisively; foul play was involved, but not suspected to have been on Ward's direct behalf.

The LDR faced immediate challenges, with the economy having been riven by Ward's many vanity projects, suhc as restoring the monarchy and modernising Brenecia's military -- this much was due, but it was done to a scope beyond Brenecia's strategic needs, and strengthened them as a political entity in their own right. In order to prevent Brenecia defaulting, contrary to advice from Corvistone, the LDR enacted backbreaking austerity measures on the country. While initially tolerated, the slow rate of progress in the ailing economy -- though not down to any failure in the LDR -- eroded goodwill. Meanwhile, Ward's party, the Conservative People's Party (CPP), worked hard to rehabilitate their image, though it would be a long time before they were ready to truly take on the LDR.

The aging Bardsley ultimately retired due to exhaustion, replaced by her Treasurer, Brigid Locke. Though an excellent Treasurer, Locke was not a natural vote-winner, and was widely regarded to be outmaneuvered by the populist Randall Kearney in the latest election. The CPP rose back to power, in coalition with the far-right White Cross party, on the back of many extravagant promises; many have been broken, while disastrously for the economy, others have been fulfilled.

The economy is now at breaking point, worse than it has been in Brenecia's modern history. Recession has crippled the country, which has failed to move on from its heavy industry, mining and agribusiness props, and big businesses are pulling out en masse. Riots have started in multiple cities, with multiple political agendas, often growing violent, and Nepharim have become scapegoats, symbols of the nebulous international powers keeping Brenecia down. The situation must, at the very least, be monitored.

MAJOR PLAYERS
Politics

The CPP retain a tenuous grip on power, with a substantial electoral mandate but two years away from the next election. Kearney is taking a beating in the polls, but retains a rabid base; among these, he has successfully blamed others for his party's failings, branding the economic collapse as down to foreign powers and the LDR. Privately, he appears to have no desire to become a new Ward; sources indicate that he has turned down suggestions of martial law, or otherwise making a grab for dictatorial power.

He has stayed relatively quiet of late, allowing his coalition partners, the White Cross, to stir up discontent. They have no scruples, and many of the riots have strong links to the party. Their presence is strongest in rural areas, but they have a foothold in the north. The other incendiary party is No Compromise, which has their own blame set on multinational corporations it claims is holding Brenecia to ransom. These claims are not without merit. NoCom's stronghold is in Westpike, the city with the strongest Nepharan ex-pat presence.

Under their charismatic young leader, Rowena Davenport, the LDR have condemned the government's weakness and recklessness throughout, hammering them relentlessly over the course of the crisis. They are polling well, for now, having closed the gap to the CPP. Between the LDR asserting themselves as one of the natural two parties of power and the rise of NoCom, the New Progressive Democrats have barely rated a whimper, largely following the LDR line.

Prominent Individuals
While Catherine Bardsley remains a beloved and influential figure, she has withdrawn from public life almost completely since the crisis began, having little to no desire to meddle after a hard-earned retirement. Former PM Brigid Locke pens a regular column in the government-critical Rozelle Observer, but is not seen as having the cultural significance for her word to carry much weight.

Clarisse Ward herself has on the surface enjoyed a retirement of her own, but her secluded Lastcreek mansion has played host to many significant figures on the Brenecian scene in recent months. While she says very little in public, her days of being a complete recluse appear over, and she has even given a couple of interviews and keynote speeches. Of all figures, it is Ward who deserves the most caution, and who poses the most threat.

The Brenecian Queen is an irrelevance. Though the CPP have positioned themselves constantly as the party in support of a more prestigious monarchy, they still do not permit her any role in national affairs, though she is believed to have little sympathy to the protests.

Other Institutions
The power of the Brenecian military has waxed and waned significantly over the past decades, with Ward pouring money into them and the LDR subsequently turning off the tap, only for Kearney to slowly start bolstering their power and influence once again. Marshal Dorian Blackwood is their commander-in-chief, and concerningly, is believed to be a hardline ultra-conservative and confirmed to be a close ally of Ward during her tenure; most reforms were conducted under his watch and to his specifications, and the upper echelons of the officer corps are absolutely loyal to him.

Owing to the uneven nature of Ward's reforms, the ground arm of the military is split into a main, professional Federal Army and a far poorer-equipped Territorial Army, effectively a reserve or national guard force. The Federal Army is relatively well-equipped and -trained, with gear perhaps a generation or two outdated from first-class forces, while the Territorials largely use holdovers from pre-independence or other budget options. Brenecia's military has an approximate strength of 38,000 full-time personnel and about 90,000 reservists and Territorials. While credible, they would present little obstacle to any truly determined Nepharan action, if deemed absolutely necessary.

The nation with the most money tied up in Brenecia at the moment is not any of the Esportivan powers, but Eura. In terms of government involvement, Brenecia remains, on paper, a strategic-level ally of the Euran government, and the Fiana Cove naval base extends Eura's reach deep into northwestern Esportiva while simultaneously having been a massive boost to the economy during its construction.

In addition to Fiana Cove, the Harther international corporation is massively influential in Brenecia's economy, and has been going back decades. The McClintock subsidiary is a particular keystone, having a stranglehold over the mining industry -- uranium, in particular -- and with its lobbyists enjoying an unhealthy degree of influence in the Brenecian political scene. It is believed to have forced more concessions on worker's rights of late, and these have been linked to a recent tragedy that has become an issue of huge controversy, especially among NoCom and those sympathetic to their cause.

Finally, as an EU nation themselves, the turmoil in Brenecia must surely be turning heads in the Esportivan Union. However, it appears that Tumbra's intended annexation of the Northlands - on which Kearney has been largely silent - is by far the more hot-button issue at present, commanding the most attention within the region. Understandably so, as Brenecia does not appear to pose a threat to any nation besides itself.

SUMMARY and RECOMMENDATIONS
As things stand, there is little direct action to take. Brenecia is, ultimately, self-determining, and neither Rozelle nor Corvistone has especially desired to rekindle any old connection of late. Nevertheless, Nepharim ex-pats are being targeted by ultra-conservatives, and after the first deaths, it does now concern us no matter whether or not we desire it. A ramping-up of consular services to offer shelter to all with Nepharan passports -- and expediting applications -- should be a priority, but appears at this stage our only course of action, beyond exerting what diplomatic pressure we may. Economic sanctions would be a potent weapon if required, and would immediately cripple the country further, yet it is doubtful this would achieve more than inflaming the situation more, and adding legitimacy to those who have used Nephara as an easy scapegoat.

Ultimately, we must trust in Rozelle to resolve its own mess.

Matchday 7: Chromatika 3-0 Saterun @ The Cove, Lhor, Coastal District, Chromatika (Cap. 51,265; 28,000 Seats)
Goals: Phoen '2, Fillar, E. '51, Killian '63
Starting XI: (4-2-3-1) - Begley; De Saint-Pierre - Régine - Ansov - Aimée; Si - Armageddon (C); Kruetzberg - Phoen - Fillar, E.; Killian.
Substitutes: De Aea -> Ansov ('61), Wen -> Kruetzberg ('71), Gainsbourg -> Killian ('78)
MVP for Chromatika: LW Edith Fillar
Summary: Edith Filar continues to shine for the Chromatik squad, scoring a goal and two assists in The Cove as the Anomalies get a routine victory at home. Chromatika needs to do the best it can in order to stay abreast of Pemecutan, who still hasn't suffered a single negative result. Really, if it wasn't for VMK, what could Edith be? She's happy enough being an als0run for now, but how long will that last?
Matchday 8: Cabo Azure 2-4 Chromatika
Goals: Kruetzberg '32, Killian '41, Fillar, E. '58, '72
Starting XI: (4-2-3-1) - Begley; De Saint-Pierre - Régine - Ansov - Aimée; Si - Armageddon (C); Kruetzberg - Phoen - Fillar, E.; Killian.
Substitutes: Ighv -> Aimée ('65), Larriet-Cortes -> Si ('72), Hauser -> Phoen ('75)
MVP for Chromatika: LW Edith Fillar
Summary: More great performances by Edith Fillar, though the play of Enigma Armageddon on his return to the team also needs to be noted. He's done well fitting in, and not taking any undue attention.

Igor Tadafirov was not having a fun time. He had spent four days out on the ocean with little food and water to speak of... but his goal kept him going. There was only one thing he could keep doing, and that was keeping this boat afloat, and getting to the Bedisov. A story that, for him, started out by warning Aleirave of the Klysevian threat, was now entailing warning Klysevia of the Aleiravan threat... all to, counter-intuitively, save Aleirave. But this journey was far harder and longer than he would ever expect.

His drinking water was mostly coming from the rain, and that had worked out well at the beginning of his journey... but the sun had shone bright for the past two days, not a drop to drink. His sanity was slowly degrading along with the rest of his health. Between the dehydration, hunger, and loneliness, there was not much keeping him going except for his cousin Mikhail's words, and the quest to save Aleirave.

Just as his hopes were starting to wear thin, just as he thought he was going in the wrong direction, never to see land again... Igor spotted a dot on the horizon. This dot would become 5, and these dots would become ships, sails billowing in the wind, Klysevian flags flying proud. He had made it... but how to make the ships notice him? How could he board the flagship Bedisov? How could he make himself known?

Meanwhile, on the Bedisov... the captain saw the dinghy in the distance. He wasn't sure what it could've been at first... perhaps it was a large fish? A small whale? No, there was a man waving on the ship. He seemed to be attracting the captain's attention... well, the laws of the sea dictated that, whether he wanted to or not, the captain would have to let the man board. He was clearly in need of help and, no matter what the Bedisov's goal was, it had to put this rescue first. "Lower a lifeboat!" he yelled out to the crew. "There's a man we have to save down there!"

Igor saw a lifeboat drop down from the Bedisov, and he knew what this had to mean. This lifeboat was going to bring him onto the ship, it was going to save him... and at this point, it really was saving him, more than it was a part of his and Mikhail's plan. He crawled into the lifeboat, and he was slowly pulled onto the grand Klysevian ship. When he arrived on-board, the captain asked him what he'd need... "food", "water", he wanted to say... but no, for now, he needed to let the captain know that there was a good reason to keep him around. He told the captain, in studdering Klysevian like one would expect of a man so ravaged by his hard travel, "N-N-Nikita ate blueberry pie... l-last week."

"Someone get this man some rations," the captain ordered his crew, "I think this man might be worth keeping around..."

The Strange Death of Renaud Kool

Part 1

Now that the fire seems to have sputtered out of the Bowheads, their recent defeat to Eraman and the victorious outcomes of their rival's games -- the Mon Soldian team seems poised to fall off the face of the Earth and retire from the World Cup has a young team that entered with great potential only to be overcome by the greater skill of its peers. This would seem like a keen time to let you on the secret. The Bowheads were never meant to succeed. Not the Baptism nor in the World Cup. What if I told you that the entire ordeal had been a ruse from the start? A carefully concocted plan orchestrated at the highest levels of power to see the demise of a handful of individuals deemed dangerous to the well-being of the unique and interesting civilization that is Mon Sold? Would you call me crazy perhaps? A malcontent who in the face of his own inadequacy would now rage on about secret templar plots that mattered far more than the golden trophy? There could be some truth to that line of thinking, but then -- would I ever let you in on the secret? In any event whether you believe me or not, I shall tell you the most interesting tale of the strange death of one Mr. Renaud Kool -- man so dangerous that even his family was content to see him go.

To understand the context of my story you must first become acquainted with certain aspects of Mon Soldian society. The Grand Duchy is often lauded by the international community for education taking up the largest portion of its budget, an almost ridiculous 25%. You would think this would breed a society of diehard liberals and libertarians, carefully molded by the intelligencia to advance the needs of academia and create a more enlightened future. You'd be partially correct. The Ministry of Education is one of the most powerful institutions in Mon Sold that is staffed by the most highly educated people in society given lucrative government salaries, with benefits that are the envy of the highest ranking general or wealthiest executives. The future is decided now is a quote often utilized by the Ministry. It harkens back to the Troubles that started in the late 50s and continued until the end of the 80s. In those times the intelligencia is swept up in the new and modern ideas of socialism, communism, progressivism, and fascism. Each vying for control and using the vehicles of libertarianism and liberalism as routes to power. All aspects of society were subverted. The schools preached lies about the history of the Grand Duchy, the cinema made movies that tore at the underpinnings of society, all the while the rich and powerful furiously gambled away their fortunes in a system laissez-faire capitalism that only sped up the decay. What happened during the Troubles is rather mundane for this audience. No doubt your own history is filled to the brim with such tales of terror and misery. Instead just know that it was the liberation of the Ministry of Education that eventually led to the end of the Troubles. Though a whole generation had to the pay the price for their parents ignorance and excess, their children were spared. But this was not entirely successful. Malcontents still wafted around the edges of society looking from their dark crevasse with bitter thoughts of failed revolution or racial purity -- of the dream of so-called progress and unlimited freedom. They yearned for liberation from duty and responsibility.

Who watches these dark places? Who keeps the Troubles from reemerging? It is time you became familiar with the Office of Malicious and Nefarious Intelligence (OMNI). A sub compartment that falls under the technical purview of the Ministry of the Interior, but whom shares information with the Ministries of Education and War, OMNI was created in the mid-90s to become a watchdog against the subversion that plagued the Grand Duchy for decades. Their remit was constrained by a need to reign in any excessive violence of invasive practices that would only aggravate the general public, OMNI set about its herculean, if uncherished, task of monitoring society and its critical institutions. While the worst offenders, such as the Decemberist Vanguard or the Carabineers, were successfully suppressed by mixture the heavy-hand of the Military and the Ministry of Educations amazing propaganda campaign; there were more insidious players for whom such measures were too extreme. Power corrupts, but money poisons. The Marquis were not spared the Troubles and many of their ancient Houses fell during this time to in-fighting, radical ideology, or the general wrath of the public. Such devastation was precipitated by progressives who claimed that the trappings of royalty and aristocracy were oppressing the masses. This was a guise by the wealthy middle class who had attained their money by merit alone to overthrow the old money that selfishly retained an iron grip on the reigns of power. The children of the middle-class were the most susceptible to the lure of progressive thinking and called for radical changes and backed those up with constant rioting, embracing culture subversion, and rejection of tradition. Compassion and tolerance were their watch words.

Renaud Kool came from one of these families. His father, Monty Kool, a wealthy businessmen who once agitated for both violent revolution and intolerance against the intolerant. Though the Troubles had seen his father reduced in both power and influence within his company, OMNI was aware that he harbored a great bitterness for the lost cause. That bitterness sank into his son who idolized his father. It has been said many times that Renaud came from a good family and this is true. Monty Kool officially denounced his past life and seemed to embrace the new, bright future before Mon Sold. Renaud would make contact during his years in college with progressive groups who yearned for the change denied to their parents. Progressivism isn't technically outlawed but actively discouraged. By the end of college he was becoming disillusioned with his groups lack of, ironically enough, progress. The Ministry of Education had spent decades inoculating the upcoming generation from far left or right wing thought. The bitter that simmered in his father's middle-aged soul burned like an inferno in Renaud Kool who, just after joining the Professional League of Mon Soldian Football and getting a starting position on the Lokerstere Loyalists, would make contact with a cell of socialists who also came from well-off middle class families.

The problem for Mr. Kool was that the cell was unknowingly ran by OMNI ...

NATIONAL TEAM ON THREE WIN STREAK
SHILOH SPRINGS (FMNA)--Following a one match break, the Fort McKinley Football Team have resumed play in Group 10, coming away with two victories against weak capitalist opposition; Cheetahs & Reptiles perhaps also need some humans as the Heroes of the Revolution secured a 4-1 win, Comrade D.G. Allen bringing victory by himself with three goals; and the Ochre Islands were embarrassed enough to replace their head coach after a 2-0 defeat as Comrade Allen added another goal to his season total.

The next match at the People's Revolution Stadium will come against the nation that was established by the mongrel peoples whose ancestors formerly defiled this land prior to the Final Conquest, Kryanini and Tennans who amalgamated like common mutts to become 'Krytenes' or 'Krytenians'.

Brother Comrade M.H. Young, Chairman of the Central Committee and Brother Comrade J.E. Davis, Leader of the People's Congress have ordered that no recognition of the visiting team or supporters will be tolerated; this includes chanting, the making of noises like that which animals do, showing approval or disapproval of the players or the actions of same during the match, and interactions with any and all those who will travel to the People's Republic from outside.

David Guy Allen was in a 180 degree better mood than he'd been less than 21 days previous.

From his creeping self-doubt as to whether his teammates didn't play up to their full abilities when he was in the lineup, to the talk with manager Chris Gray, to the sweep of the previous qualifying doubleheader following the bye, David felt as though he'd returned to "normal" in terms of his role as a member of the Fort McKinley National Team.

However, after reading the official Party recap of the previous matches and the statement about the forthcoming fixture against the Anian nation of Krytenia, he felt less energized about the team's recent turnaround.

Little did he realize at the time that a chance to express a bit of "silent dissent" would fall into his lap due to the nitwits who ran the Fort McKinley Football Association.

The optics of Comrade Dr Lester Allen's great-grandson being the captain against the nation whose people were stereotyped in most unflattering ways by the Republic Party was an opportunity that couldn't be avoided in a propaganda heavy society.

The two wins had pulled the Mackies into 6th in the table with two more winnable matches following the Krytenia encounter against Reorganized Portugal and Armbruster before the start of the return fixtures. Dave imagined that they might possibly be able to climb to fifth ahead of the break and maybe sneak into the top four if they could steal a point against Kandorith or South Newlandia.

The Second Great War of Unification(1876-1892)

IN THE COLONIES

With the fight raging on in the Qurijas, what is to be noted is the tenacity with which the Qurijan fighters fought alongside the Pomenienze or Scudelliano, depending on their side. The reality of the situation is that the majority of Qurijans were in the Scudelliano side, while the Pomenienze side had a large diversity, with a lot of Slomjenski, Buseojin-saram and Jokani joining the fight alongside them and the Qurijans on their side. Pent up ethnic tensions showed their true form in the battlefield and battles would often times be worse than bloody or deadly. Entire units would be exterminated at times, but would fight with intensity and bravery, as was the case of a company of Slomjenski soldiers at the hills of Vojrica who found themselves defending the entire area outnumbered against the Scudelliano.

Chapter 3: Last Stand at Vojrica(June 25th, 1879)
"No homeland was ever worth fighting for until my own was lost." Ivan Radev, Slomjenski politician in the side of Pomenienze Qurija ~circa 1885

The victory at Al Quweeiyah had given a lot of momentum to the Scudelliano units of the area as they decided to push further into Pomenienze Qurija and Al Qurija, its capital and multicultural gem of the colony. Standing in their way were a lot of passages, bridges, towns and smaller villages, however. Such a village was a Slomjenski-majority village in Vojrica. A contingent of Slomjenski fighters was stationed there in case of a Scudelliano attack and by June 25th, they would receive exactly that as the village, as well as the contingent itself, would get spotted by a group of Scudelliano Cavalieri. They were led by François Moretti, an experienced fighter in horseback.

The fighting itself started as the Cavalieri charged towards the Slomjenski, who were set up near a small, tree-covered area at one of the hills of Vojrica. They started fighting towards the incoming cavalry charge, wounding as well as killing some of them in the process, however they caught up and injured and killed some of the Slomjenski fighters back. With bayonets fixed, they decided to hold their positions in a few sets of square formations, a tactic taught to them by the Pomenienze, knowing it was very effective against cavalry. Some of the Slomjenski fighters took on a sharpshooter role inside the squares in order to weaken the cavalry charges, in which case they were pushed back. But there was a new problem in the horizon, as a Scudelliano infantry unit also got involved.

The now heavily-outnumbered Slomjenski knew they were defending a lost cause, especially with their amount of losses and decided to keep holding their positions against the Scudelliano attacks. Shots were exchanged, with even more losses recorded for the Slomjenski side. The Scudelliano Qurijans decided to charge all together this time as the fight developed into yet another melee fight. The Slomjenski fought bravely, but the Scudelliano had the superior force and managed to kill most of them, while capturing the few survivors of the fight. Acknowledging their bravery, François Moretti decided to capture the remaining few and send them back to get imprisoned, but only after making both the cavalry and the infantry units applaud them for their bravery and tenacity in the field of battle. It was one of the few instances on which a number of prisoners was not executed after a last stand during the war.

Vojrica had to capitulate following the last stand and with this victory the Scudelliano Qurijans would push forwards. Next in their way was the important stop of Sant Gregori, a Juven-majority town fighting on the side of the Pomenienze and an important center of trade.

Battle Outcome: Decisive victory of Scudelliano Qurijans! Vojnica surrenders.

Governorate of Scudelliano Qurija: 550 infantry, 30 cavalry, 50 casualties
Slomjenski fighters: 30 militia, 26 casualties, the rest were captured

Rybki's Mysterious Exit
By Grigorije Ilić
Rybki Prodanowić, known in local culture by his first name, resigned from his part time position as assistant coach for the national team. The incumbent DD Porto Nowi assistant coach was vague when describing his departure's motivation. Without detailed official comments others are delivering their own narratives about the exit.

After Squidroidia won away from home by a margin of three goals, the Rekan national team was sitting in the middle of World Cup Qualifying Group Seven. Within one day former national team captain Rybki announced his exit from the national team. “I have a lot on my plate,” the eight time Federal League champ said when publicly announcing his departure. With a loss to a major side, emotions ran high in the Rekan locker room. Rybki having such short stint with a team he once captained has lead to whispers of a sour exit. Lu Jialan's conduct with Rybki was citied as a tipping point, as were factors such as the match with Squidroidia, and even internal politics within Rekan Football.

The inner circle of Zeta Reka's most famous retired footballer are contradicting the official narrative, “There's more to Rybki's story than what he's said,” analyst Christian Holzmann claimed on Zeta Reka's highest rated sports analysis program. Holzmann cited a former teammate for club and county of Rybki's when speaking. Holzmann said Rybki, “Despised” the national team's structure upon his entry to the side, “Tactics are poor to him… The side are ‘nothing’ compared to domestic tactics, or many player's club tactics. Rybki took his objections to Jialan and was pretty much told ‘no’ in a lot of words.” Holzmann also psychoanalyzed the situation by claiming Rybki, “Known for wanting a lot out of arrangements. The wish wasn't granted… Rybki left because it's not his team.”

Losing by a wide margin to an important opponent lead to Rybki renewing his private calls for change. Reports of a confrontation at the Sports Complex have made rounds across the sporting world, and Rekan society too. Napredak! ZRH, a magazine, reported Rybki was, “Banging his palm against a whiteboard after a few minutes of arguing strategy with the Yuezhou born head coach.” Napredak is a major magazine in Rekan communities, and is well circulated Rybki's home city of Porto Nowi. The article was out within twenty four hours of this article's publishing. Public reaction in fan circles is unknown. With the publications reputation in Porto Nowi the whiteboard narrative could become Zeta Reka's norm.

A contradictory report was given yesterday by sportswriter Djoko Weljkowić. On RekaTV's afternoon panel program Rhombus, Weljkowić said, “Rybki and Jialan had a three hour talk about the side. The management team itself and Rybki's shall we say nebulous role in the machine was a major topic. After my boys talked Rybki wasn't interested in staying in the parlor.” Weljkowić later categorically denied the Napredak article, which was presented on the program by panelist and former National Assembley member Anton Lazić. At this point in time the story is not definitively corroborated, with no comments from Lu Jialan or Rybki.

“I have a lot on my plate”
~Rybki's simple exiting comment

RekanSport consulted multiple figures on the developing situation. A Rekan midfielder told RekanSport that he “Overheard Rybki and Jialan agreeing to a meeting at the offices of the Sports Complex,” but the player left the arena shortly thereafter. An unnamed staff member spoke to both men, and claimed, “Rybki was more unhappy, clearly not in control of the situation, but for my mind wouldn't have resigned from Zeta Reka over his grievances.” Luka Lukić, an sports commentator of renown, had his own take similar to the unnamed staffer, “I played against Rybki,” Lukić said speaking on his podcast LL&RB, “I have experience with him. He felt blessed to play for Zeta Reka. He would never quit. I've said Jialan's Rekan allies act like a cult, one the manager - to me- doesn't control. Rybki was forced out by them. Nothing more and nothing less is true.”

The presence of bad news in mainstream Rekan society could have an effect on the team, management, and even the FFA. The future however remains unknown. Zeta Reka's next opponents are StrayaRoos. StrayaRoos are level with Zeta Reka in the standings and three points could be won if Zeta Reka is truly fractured.

Focus on the football. That was the message from Liesel McLelland. Forget the drama, just focus on the football. Drama had indeed enveloped the Barunian camp, after a newspaper published details of Melissa Hunt’s struggles with mental health. The Tildos Herald claimed their source came from within the Barunian team.

For many of the players, the article was the first time they learned of the personal reasons behind Hunt’s absence from the team. Team management were aware, but not the playing group. However, that did didn’t protect the team from the ongoing controversy.

Barunia has some of the strictest privacy laws in the world. Shortly after the story broke, Melissa Hunt released a statement through her lawyer, stating an intent to sue. The Herald, as well as several other news outlets that published the story, were ordered to remove the article, an order the Herald refused. Within a week, papers were filed with the Tildos Court of Arbitration.

The court case is months, if not years away, but the fallout has already started. The relationship between the team and the media is at an all time low, and there is also distrust between team management and the players. The Herald got their information somehow, but as of yet the source has not been identified. Until the leak is identified, the player’s are feeling like their personal information is unsafe. The Player’s Association is demanding the National Football Board perform a full investigation. The NFB have yet to respond.

Meanwhile several players have released statements supporting Hunt and requesting respect for her privacy. Hunt herself has gone silent, only communicating through lawyers. The issue has been a distraction, as the team slump to eighth on the ladder after their bye day, following an embarrassingly bad loss to Pasarga. Hence McLelland’s plea to the team. Focus on the football.

IAC 15: Debutants Togonistan grind past redlined Sajnur

Shuri Sankara, From the Archives

After such a good group stage, there was much promise for Sajnur to go deep into the tournament. Sure, a 5-2 loss to Kriegiersien was a jarring sight to watch, even with the jockstraps the Kriegiers wore in place of their usual pseudo-bikinis, but Sajnur as a team had proved itself full of talent. Alas, the unheralded Togonistan produced a shock victory against a Sajnur side that did not take well to their defensive style. The debutants were content to keep possession in the midfield and their own half, and Sajnur's defensive efforts produced more fouls than results. When Togonistan did make their way toward the Sajnuran penalty box, they continued cycling the ball until they found space for a shot. Space they did find, and Keyn Menetua found himself with only Natasha Kirai between him and the goal. That is, until he attempted his shot. At that moment, Kahala Murje slid in for one of her trademark aggressive tackles, but Menetua shielded the ball and Murje careened into his legs, for which she was sentenced permanently to the sidelines by the referee. Menetua would convert the penalty, and Togonistan would take a lead that proved as long lasting as it was flimsy.

Togonistan's style could be best described as defending with the ball. Once they get hold of it, they cycle it around in such a way that as a team it never really leaves their feet, and they kept compact enough that there would always be a passing option nearby that could receive the ball whenever a purple shirted Sajnuran was near. Facing only ten opponent players made this task easier after Murje's removal, and with this they secured 61% possession, yet just four shots at goal, of which two were penalties. That second penalty was in the middle of the second half when captain Jessica Siafik hurtled in as Martin Tufele prepared for a shot and promptly broke his leg. Menetua's second penalty was on target, but this time Kirai got her hands to it, and the scoreline remained 1-0. With Siafik rightly sent off for grievous bodily harm, however, nine Sajnurans were simply not enough to draw level and thus Togonistan, having scored one point in their first three group matches, secured their third consecutive 1-0 victory and with it a spot in the Round of 16.

The 20 is a blog series where authors of Brookstation's biggest football blog, The Beautiful Game documents the lives of some of the best players to have played in Brook soil. Aimed at inaugurating the 50th edition of the Harrison Shield, we document the lives of the players who define the top 20 football clubs in Brookstation.

PETER CROFTON:THE FASTEST GLOVES IN THE WEST

When the subject of deciding the finest player of Shkotan FC is raised, Peter Crofton’s name is always present. Among the likes of Kevin Ball, Johnson Dean and Paol Hoel, Crofton is always present at the top of the list. His contributions for the team both on and off the pitch made him standout as a completely special individual.

In order to understand Peter’s career at length, one needs to dive into the old days of Brook Football. The Harrison Shield was established in 1972 but before 1972, football still existed in Brookstation and so did all the clubs and the stadiums. Before the Harrison Shield however, the clubs were distributed among the four regions of the nation and the champions of each region would go on to face the other region toppers in a semi final knockout. Shkotan fell under the western division, a division that didn’t have much competition with the likes of teams like FC Hacienda, Goolsea Pistols and Essidise Titans. Shkotan enjoyed a relatively good time in the western division, winning the Western division almost every year.

Having started his senior career with the lowly ranked Forshey, the goalkeeper soon caught the attention of those at Wildpark and made his move to Shkotan in 1963. After spending a season as a substitute goalkeeper for the club, Crofton returned the following year, establishing himself as the starting choice of Shkotan as the club would go on to win two league titles in the upcoming years. He also started gaining fame throughout the country and started getting personal feats to his name including a Brook Player of the Award in 1966, the first time for a goalkeeper to do so.

The 60s were a good decade for both Crofton as well as Shkotan. But with the advent of the new decade, Shkotan started to face alarming issues that affected the club heavily. Firstly, the club started suffering from financial issues which meant that the club had to sell most of their key players in order to make their club survive. Secondly, the club was passed under a wrong management lead by Mikael Gwenneng, something that Crofton was greatly unsatisfied with. Crofton was known throughout the 60s for his individual performance but the 70s were popular for Peter’s disputes against his own club in hopes for an improved future for Shkotan. As the club’s performance began degrading slowly over time, Crofton would often step up and criticise the decisions of the club’s management.

Crofton had a special place for his club within his heart and he had rejected offers from other clubs like AC Dason and Clube de Norwegian wood for the sake of his club and now he found his very teammates being forced to leave the club. He couldn’t tolerate seeing his club in such a desperate condition. According to some football historians, it was Crofton’s pressure that eventually led to the sacking of Gwenneng.
Gwenneng’s reign didn’t last for long and in 1972 he was sacked by the club. He was succeeded by Colin Howard, a renowned manager known for his previous success. Howard also wanted to bring a change for the club and soon his bond with Crofton intensified and soon the two men would work to rebuild the club. On the other hand however, Crofton didn’t halt his brilliant performance and secured the goal with all his might. 1972 also marked the beginning of the Harrison Shield and every club entered the edition with their own set of hopes. Shkotan, having won a considerable number of silverware before, had higher expectations. The season began on a positive note for Shkotan but down the line, they lost to Halebid United in the Quarter Finals. But at the same time, Peter was named the best goalkeeper of the Harrison Shield, a title that he would win for a total of eight times during his career.

The reason for Crofton’s success was his speed and reflexes. In the 60s football was played in an aggressive manner throughout Brookstation and very few children looked forward to playing in a goalkeeper’s position. Peter stood out among them. Peter always fancied goalkeepers because he believed that goalkeepers were the ones who actually protected the goal, the most vital part of the field. Peter was a fast goalkeeper and he could cover the entire goal in a very short amount of time which enabled him to rush out whenever an attack was made. Apart from that Crofton could read the striker’s movements. He could determine the direction where his opponent would strike. There was no goalkeeper who could match Crofton’s skills and thus it was only the Shkotan matches that were always low scoring.

“Shooting a penalty is perhaps the easiest thing for a striker yet when we went to take a penalty against Shkotan, we feared Peter’s presence. He knew exactly where we would strike.” Tomaso Cohen (Other side of Paradise striker, 1973-1986)

Croft starting for Shkotan

Shkotan won their first Harrison Shield in the fourth edition held in 1976 and Shkotan’s match against Regiis Dreamland in the finals of that edition is still talked about by Fighters’ fans. Shkotan travelled to the Pop Smoke Stadium, Dreamland’s home turf on 4th May, 1976 for the title decider. The Dreamland side had defeated Shkotan in the group stage and had an upper hand regarding the team’s mentality. Shkotan gained a lead of two goals by Darren Stevens and Trevor Neil. But Dreamland had a lot in stake and soon retaliated in the 67th minute. With five minutes remaining, Gordon Riley struck a powerful shot towards the goal from the box towards the edge of the goal. Everyone thought that the ball would go straight into the net until Crofton managed to jump in the air to deflect the ball completely, writing his name in the history books by awarding Shkotan their first Harrison Shield. Even at the age of 34, Crofton kept performing such acts for the sake of his team.

“One thing that every commentator said that day was “How did he possibly save that?” but none of us had an answer except Crofton himself.” Colin Howard (Shkotan FC manager 1972-1979)

Another match where Crofton’s heroics saved the day for Shkotan was an encounter with Towning FC towards the end of that very year. The end of the year meant that the weather was bitterly cold and thus the match was played in a snowy field. The Fighters gained a lead through a Stevens goal before Towning started bombarding the Shkotan defense with attacks after attacks. Nevertheless, Crofton produced an array of brilliant saves to prevent the scores from getting equalised. A shot from David Imre was extremely close from entering the net but Crofton flicked the ball in a last moment attempt. The look of despair was evident in the faces of all Towning fans that day and nobody could figure out how Crofton managed to maintain his fitness even at that age. There was no question about the Association’s decision to award Peter the Player of the Year title that year.

The next season saw Crofton in peremptory form as he managed a total of 10 clean sheets by the end of the season. Little did Crofton know that that was going to be his last season with the Fighters. During a Harrison Shield face off with Red Tube Volint, Crompton crashed into the goalpost with a high velocity and injured himself badly. He was rushed to the hospital and thankfully recovered. That injury left a lasting impact on Crofton’s career and he eventually announced his retirement from the game at the age of 35. This was devastating news for Shkotan. Pat South stepped up as the substitute keeper but Shkotan knew that they were never going to get back their legendary form. The club finished that season on a disappointing note.

Shkotan did go on to win the 1979 Harrison Shield completely due to Howard’s managerial brilliance but after Howard left the team that year’s summer, Shkotan could never regain the momentum with which they played. Even after Crofton’s retirement , Crofton was closely associated with the Shkotan community. In a region affected drastically by corruption and poverty, Crofton made valuable donations to various organisations in the West and raised his voice against these acts. He fraternised with his fanbase and remained the favourite of Shkotan. I as an author agree to the fact that I was unfortunate enough to not have witnessed Crofton’s brilliance on the field. Had I been present, I would be honoured to see an angel in the form of a stout goalkeeper.

It's Not That Simple

Statement that was made by the opposition leader have spark a nationwide discussion over the issue. However, the idea to change the country's division is not that simple.

We need a referendum. An amendment to the constitution. That's a long road to happen. While we are already used to this division.

MP Catia Orodeni explain about the long road to achieve what's Karpanyo's stated before. She added that the idea is not impossible but it will takes time. Opposition MP, Cecilio Markan also doubt Karpanyo's idea to be achievable. He lean towards more openness and collaboration between the two states in order to closer the gap of disparity between the two.

We have make some progress from recognizing both languages as equal. Easiness to exchange goods and manpower. National guidelines for education and healthcare systems. This efforts are to bridging both states.

Cecilio Markan

However, the new poll regarding the idea show a huge rejection of the idea. A staggering 97% of respondent are opposing the idea of restructuring the states. So if the first step to change the country's structure via referendum would be likely to fail. Some people stated that they are already use to this system and a major change will definitely affect their daily life. Some other saying that the current structure is already the best for the country. With several comments from common people which opposing the idea, is the partition is really that big? Or is it just something that the politicians who mostly seeing it rather than a national thoughts?

Political expert, Rebecca Wukande, stated that the issue was there but it is not seen by many people. The disparity which occur from several years back as the result of the new division after Arrakan War is just being noticed.

And it is good because the MPs noticed this early on before things get worse. The parliament still can make a decision to stop this disparity from getting bigger and further apart. The next parliament and President have a huge task to closed the gap between these 2 states and giving them both an equal position.

Rebecca Wukande

In the end, although the partition issue is not that big. But the disparity issue is here and it is real. So the government have to start trying to stop it. And this is the task for the future government.

Alain, Burt, and Jerry had been driving through the Northlands for a couple hours.

"Eastbound and down!" sang Jerry!

"Loaded up an' truckin'" Replied Burt on the radio communicator

"We're gonna do what they they say can't be done!" - they both sang in unison!

"Damnit boys" angrily replied Alain. "You've been singing that damn same lyric for the last hour now boys"

"Yeah so what Alain?" - replied Burt over the radio "Man we haven't seen anything over the last two trips, man! Why am I even here?"

"Hey now Burt....look at it this way, your at least gonna help us spot trouble if there is any so it's not like your being useless, just lucky." - Alain

Mean while the two vehicles stopped at a stop where Fuel and oil was distributed to motorist who braved this inhospitable route. The boys stopped and got some fuel and food. Maybe they would have clean run number three?.

Xanneria was sitting on a record of 1-0-5, having just struck out on a game versus Sharktail, the Maroons were looking for anything to spark the team. The Maroons had gone through a gauntlet. Outside of an upset by Sudilla, there was Ko-oren, Poafmersia, Delaclava, and Sharktail. All nations who could contend for the top 3 spots in the group. That doesn't even count Nyowani Kitara who is one of the final two opponents, that Xanneria would have to face.

So it was nice for the Maroons when they had to face SOuthwest Eastnorth. For one of only a surprisingly few times, the Maroons and Pioneers got to face off in front of a capacity crowd at the XANAIr National Stadium II. The two nations share a common heritage as both are considered offshoots of the old nation of Tonissia. While Xanneria has a long history as a colony of TOnissia, SOuthwest Eastnorth's is a bit more, bizzare. A group of thousands of people who had grown dissatified with an increasingly paranoid set of leaders after a military coup in the 50s lead the nation down a spiral of problems, decided to bail and created an entire flotilla with necessary supplies in hopes of colonizing new land. They did so and the weirdly named Southwest Eastnorth was formed.

As for the game it was a riot from the start, the fun kind! Alex Bronson took a pass from Allison Burnes and got one past the diving Orenthal Onassis. Soon another pass got in the hands of Bronson who then passed it over to Gil McKenna who determined that Burnes was a better option, and he sent it her direction for another goal.

One of the big stories though was the Ingram / Navarro feud. A feud that had spilled out from Delano City SC's team into even the National team and had seen young Austin Navarro defect to the Southwest Eastnorth National team. But, Navarro was started and Ingram wasn't as Andrew Gasey was the listed third striker. Gasey did well, but only got one assist after another Burnes shot went by Onassis. Navarro actually saw himself do well to as him and Bearden star Hoyer Harbors got by the aged veteran Mookie Danube twice later on. Overall though it was a good game for the reeling maroons as they look to take momentum into the games versus Football Tiger and Nyowani Kitara.

(Aziz 21') Sharktail 1-0 Xanneria (NONE)

Fans, Players, Royals, rise up for international sports,
by Chelsea Dufresne, Concord Heights Times

Prior to the game against Delte at the Dagan Airways Stadium, there was an assembly of several well known people to protest the Queen’s decision to pull sports teams out of many different competitions. The ban was put into place for a doping scandal within the basketball program that was also seen as being applicable to gridiron. It was mainly executives that were the guilty parties, and evidence has since shown that there were not many players participating in the scheme. The ultimate findings of the investigation should have vindicated the programs at this point, and allowed the applicable sports organizations to only punish the specific players involved. There have been punishments, and when looking at the list of people that were guilty of using performance enhancing drugs, you will not find many top level people. Most the people were those trying to find their way into the major leagues of Cassadagan sports, and not those that already achieved stardom. Therefore, the impact on the national teams was never going to all that significant. All of that was found out between three to four years ago. Sports organizations have cleaned up their act, and all guilty people with the organzations that were involved in the cover up are currently only able to read the Concord Heights Times from a jail cell. So, why the hell, then, are we not returning to the World Bowl and the International Basketball Championships? Or NSSCRA, since there was a completely irrelevant connection to stock car racing.

On the NSSCRA side, things have worked out for the drivers. Stacie Houston now drives for Gale Force Racing in Saint Kanye, and Jenna Logan now drives for Team Tropicorp. Both of them are currently among the twelve drivers remaining in the Chase. So, Cassadagans can still follow them. They can also still follow Maddie Alexander’s ride, as she also drives for Team Tropicorp and seems to be on the verge of getting a win sometime. Eventually, maybe. Maddie is 17th in the points presently, putting her as the best driver going that did not make the Chase. Another Team Cassadaigua driver, Chelsea Taylor, is contracted by Newmanistan, and is not doing well, but Newmanistan drivers never do well. Cassadagan companies who have sponsored drivers in the past have mostly found spots on competing cars. Concord Heights Motor Speedway sits empty for NSSCRA, but sees activity otherwise.

Gridiron and basketball players have not been so fortunate. World Bowl 44 is currently taking place, and there are no Cassadagans competing. Basketball has gone dark. However, when the Queen should be considering giving these sports an opportunity, she doubled down even more and would not allow the hockey team to sign up for the World Cup of Hockey, which should be beginning some time soon. It is the first time a while that there will be no Cassadagan participation in that, and there was never a connection between the hockey program and the doping scandal. Some are even expecting the Queen to not allow a sign up for the next World Baseball Classic. Why is this happening? These moves, plus the Queen’s surprising approval for record high military spending have people wondering, what is she doing? And is it time for her to step down as she is now in her mid-70's. For now, it’s only small pockets trying to get a succession to the throne, but that might grow in time.

Hannah Schulz, a wide receiver for Concord Heights that has played in the World Bowl organized a rally before the qualifying game against Delte. For Hannah and many others, there are questions as to why the soccer team is able to participate. “It’s time to move on,” Hannah said when explaining the rally, “many of us have been unfairly punished as we were never involved in the scandal to begin with. Right now, the World Bowl is going on. I should be able to play in the greatest gridiron competition out there, and our fans should be able to watch the greatest in the world play with us also playing against them. Not just watching as an uninvolved neutral fan. Our hockey team now is not allowed to play in their World Cup. But yet, here we are, watching the soccer players not be affected at all. Now, I am not saying, in any way shape or form, that we should not allow them to play, but why are they playing and not us?”

The soccer players understand, with Kimberly Carson, the 35-year old starter for Concord Heights City that played on the World Cup side up until World Cup 90 being on hand alongside Schulz. “I want everyone to know that soccer players stand alongside our sisters and brothers who play in other sports. I was fortunate to not be affected, but I never understood why the punishment had to affect players when it should have only affected the sporting organizations or any player, on an individual level, that should have been affected. As we are here to enjoy a game of World Cup qualifying, I know that the players who will be out on the pitch today are also supportive of this mission.” The purpose of this rally was mainly to gain awareness and show solidarity between professional athletes, and fans, against the new policies of the Queen.

As expected, Princess Brianna was on site and took part in the rally. She made an abbreviated statement, but wanted to let the focus of the event be on the players. The princess is seen as trying to use this as a means to generate her position to be the successor to Queen Cassie II, and not Princess Cassie III. However, Brianna’s intention might not have fully worked as the rally had another royal visitor, that being Cassie III. While Brianna was expected to be there, Cassie III’s presence was completely unexpected. Cassie III told those on hand that, “I will be in communication with my mother to let her know how passionate all of you were. She will be able to see it, but I wanted to be here firsthand to appreciate the will of the people, and want all of you want. I cannot promise anything, but I too would like to see the return of Cassadagan teams to all international sports. We have been a great nation in all of them, and we should be again.” Brianna’s response to Cassie III would be, “I appreciate that Cassie III will speak to her mother, but she has had years to do this. It was not just yesterday where her mother made this decision. I am glad that she is here and will also be responsive, but she didn’t have to wait until now to do it.” In response, Cassie III stated, “You have had a direct line to the Queen, too.”

This was the first public back and forth between these two that had been seen in a very long time. With Queen Cassie II possibly deciding to step down sometime soon, you have the feeling that Cassadaigua is going to see the kind of bickering between the Princesses that is comparable to candidates of rival political parties in nations that choose to have a democratic form of government. There is no election, and Cassie III will, unless something unanticipated happens, be the next Queen.

HISTORY OF FOOTBALL IN ZIWANA- PART 4.2

Postby Ziwana » Mon May 16, 2022 9:24 am

CHAPTER 4: RISE OF THE "BIG 6". (1966-1992) PART 2

Part 1,2,3 and 4 : viewtopic.php?f=7&t=473341#p38774587, viewtopic.php?f=7&t=473341#p38774614 ,https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=518443&p=39587162#p39587162 , viewtopic.php?ns=1&f=7&t=518443&p=39597448#p39597448 .

THE REVIVAL OF RED FALCONS FOOTBALL CLUB
Red Falcons where a founding member of the Ziwani top tier league in 1921. As a recently founded club, Red Falcons struggled to compete with well-established teams in the Liga Malicky. However, fourtunes changed for the Amafira Boys when former Ainheim Dynamos manager, Gary Wilder joined the side. Wilder was a strong advocate for scouting youth players and building them up. For 2years between 1929 and 1930, Wilder created a strong squad that was able to go on to win 3 Liga Malicky titles in a roll. The 1929 financial crisis would finally catch up to the Amafira Boys in 1934, the club would no longer sustain itself and would go into administration. The Zahir City Council and Red Falcons fans would form a consortium and bought the club along with its debts to save their beloved football club.

After years of no prominence in the Liga Malicky, Red Falcons would begin its painful revival in the 1960s. In 1957, a Shamal State noble by the of Mohammed II Alahaj would buy a stake into the Amafira Boys. In the early years of the club legendary manager, Gary Wilder had created a vast scouting system to look for potential stars in impoverished areas and this sttrategy had been successful in making the Falcons a dominant side in the early 30s. The new owner wanted Red Falcons to reclaim its glory and believed that this strategy would once again work for the club. Alahaji did not have a lot of financial muscle behind him, it would cost a lot to create a nationwide scouting system. To solve his predicament, Alahaji lobbied the Fa's of Shamal, Khasib and Akhdir into creating a regional cup. In 1957 the first Zarabian Regional Cup was held with Al-Quasim Athletic winning the first edition of the Cup against Red Falcons on penalties. The competition unveiled a lot of potential stars. In the semi-final of the cup, Amafira Boys had met Shamal Young Stars. This team had too outstanding wing back who would move quickly into the opposition box and scoring goals, these wingbacks where also fast and would track back to defend. These wingback where Joel and Chris Payen, twins who would create the backbone for Red Falcons Football Club in the coming years. In 1958 and 1959 Red Falcons would win the Zarabian Cup whilst steadily rising in the league. In 1960 Red Falcons would wow the league the league with its impressive defending, allowing only 13 goals past their goal. Red Falcons would also finish on position 3 and win the inaugural ZFL League Cup against Western United. For the following next five years, Red Falcons would consistently finish in top 3, win the Zarabian Cup 2 more times and win the League Cup 3 more times. The Amafire Boys would however fail to beat the Ziwani Big Two teams in Birnin Almalaki and Western United. The Big Two would eventually include Black Leopards and ECOA FC creating the Big 4. Red Falcons would struggle to beat these teams that had a lot more financial support than it did. However, in the 1970,s Red Falcons would break into the top two frequently and eventually win two titles, thus solidifying its status as a prominent side in the Liga Malicky.

THE BIG 6
1966 was the 44th season of the Liga Malicky. It had seen the era where Ainheim Dynamos and Red Falcons where the best teams in the 20s and early 30s, the dominance of Western United in the 30s and early 40s, the rise of Birnin Almalaki in the late 40s and 50s and the Amaclassico era in the 50s and early 60s. 1966 was the beginning of a new competitive era where not 1 or 2 or 3 teams dominated the Ziwana top tier but 6.

In the 1966 season ECOA FC was simply unbelievable, they had the best defence and the fourth best attack in the league. Their team was simply balanced. ECOA won the Liga Malicky with 3 matches to spare, they also finished the season only having allowed 3 goals in. Their title Rivals Birnin Almalaki and Black Leopards very attacking tactics had left their defences vulnerable against counter attacks making them fall short against ECOA FC. Birnin Almalaki and Black Leopards finished 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

In 1967, Black Leopards would win the league. The Leopards would struggle the first half of the season but after buying players from Red Falcons and ECOA FC, the inexperienced side would get better , eventually winning the league. Red Falcons would meet Black Leopards in the ZFL League Cup final which would be abandoned after a fight between the fans would break out due to disagreements over referee decisions.

In 68 Western United and Black Leopards would finish on equal points but Amawashinds goal difference would give the title to them over a disgruntled Black Leopards. The Leopards would come back the next season very ferocious winning the league in style by being the best defence and attack in the league, and not losing to any of the big six sides.

In 1970 and 71 Birnin Almalaki and Black Leopards would win the title respectively. The two sides seemed to be the strongest of the big six with Western United falling off due to financial problems. The 1972 season would be one of the greatest season to come for Red Falcons fans. At the end of the first half of the season, Red Falcons and Black Leopards where toe to toe on equal points and when they had met on matchday 10 against each other they drew nil nil against each other. But it wasn't a dull affair, it was filled with great chances, fights, yellow cards and red cards. The game had also been stopped in the 86nd minute when Black Leopard fans begun to throw stones into the ground to disrupt Red Falcons who were very close to scoring. For most of the second half Black Leopards would be in first place with Red Falcons in 2nd place but on matchday 19, a loss for Black Leopards would cost them their spot on top. Black Leopards would have a chance to reclaim their spot on matchday 21 but would draw with Red Falcons. The final day of the season had many possibilities but if Red Falcons won then Black Leopards would have not win the title. Red Falcons was facing ECOA FC a side that they had easily beaten, Black Leopards were facing Sporting Victoria who they had smashed in the first half of the season. Black Leopards quickly scored 3 goals in the first half and within the first minutes of the second half where 5 goals up after scoring an additional 2 goals. Red Falcons where struggling having not had any chance against ECOA FC. Black Leopards where now first on the table with 30 seconds ticking before they would celebrate their fourth Liga Malicky title. Red Falcons on the other hand would get a chance after Zex Bandawe would cross the ball into the 30 yard box, Rashid Hamed would run into the box and kick the ball into the back of the net winning it for Red Falcons and disappointing Black Leopard fans. The Red Falcons game had 6 added minutes which Black Leopard fans claimed that Falcon officials had paid the officials. The following 6 years , Black Leopards and Western United would win it once with a revived ECOA FC and Birnin Almalaki winning it twice. ECOA and Birnin Almalaki would raid Red Falcons and Black Leopards making it impossible for these sides to compete and win the title.

THE RED VS BLACK DERBY
Mediocrity would not last long for Red Falcons and Black Leopards. In 1979 former Red Falcon team mates Zex Bandawe and Rashid Hamed would become managers of Black Leopards and Red Falcons respectively. Whilst Hamed had stayed loyal to the Amafira Boys, Zex had gone to ECOA and had even managed the side to its 1978 Liga Malicky title. Zex and Hamed where deep rivals and this rivalry just intensified after they both become managers. Zex had been the leading candidate to take over the Red Falcons manager position but his disloyalty cost him and the loyal Hamed was made manager. In anger and frustration Zex would become manager of Black Leopards.

Both Zex and Hamed being attacking players in their time believed that the best form of defence is to attack. They also both believed in high work rate. The two clubs were evenly matched but Red Falcons would come on top after having one less loss and 1 extra win against Black Leopards. Both teams would lose at home to each other by one goal and in both games the managers would be suspended for brawling. The Derby had begun. The following season the sides were once again toe to toe but Black Leopards came on top after losing one game less. Hamed was able to humiliate Zex after his side beat Black Leopards 5-0. Zex blamed the loss on not having its fans at the ground after both fun bases had fought in the first leg, Leopard fans were banned from travelling to Zahir for the second game against the Falcons. The first leg had ended 6-4 with Black Leopards winning the controversial game.

Before the 1981 season, Amafira Boys owner Mohammed II Alahaji took out a loan to strenghten the Red Falcons squad. Alahaji really wanted to establish a legacy the same way Western United had done. In 81 and 82 Red Falcons absolutely dominated the league. Black Leopards on the other hand would fail to compete due to Zex's failures in the transfer market. In 1982 Black Leopards would be relegated.

Stability would return to Western United and they would finally begin to break into top 3 by winning the league in 1983, 7 years after their last one. Red Falcons would try to compete, they would win the title in 1984 but get relegated the following season after going into administration. The next five years would see a return to Western United dominance with annual top 6 member Birnin Select taking 1 title.

Black Leopards and Red Falcons would return in 1989 and 1991 respectively after winning the Liga Kaifa 1. Black Leopards would win the title in 1990 and 1991 whilst Red Falcons would be a midtable club. The era would end alongside the Red VS Black Derby making way for the 2nd Amaclassico era in which for 14 years , Western United and Birnin Almalaki won the trophy 13 times.
An era where other teams challenged for the title other than the Big Two was over.

Stars at the top?

After a few matches now the Starsian squad is doing pretty well, the team is doing good and they won a good amount of their matches placing them currently in fourth place and they even have vision on third place aswell.
Landry and Young are doing very well with the team and the Starsian at home have something to cheer for, the team shows great improvement from previous editions and also are the new players bringing new experience.

Maximillian Flare their ex-striker now has been developing himself aswell to more of a coach and scouting role assisting young players in making the tough decisions he had to aswell during his younger years.
According to him he wants to improve the future of these young adults by helping them stay on the right track in the big football world which can be very intimidating when you are a newcomer on the senior level.

Meanwhile Nicolay Moon is fully into coaching after getting his license approved hes looking forward to his first season as a coach and hopes to bring out the best from his team and develop himself aswell.

At home

Meanwhile at home their fanbase is growing and sale of Starsian fan products has skyrocketed aswell as the sales of alcohol and food for matchdays and usually matches are watched on large screens in cities.
Our police has little to do, they oversee it and assist but the environment is for now nice and peaceful with only a few arrestations for people carring drugs or fireworks that were illegal but no real troubles.

We hope they continue and do us proud!

Poafmersia tussle inconclusive but impactful

Delaclava didn't come away from Poafmersia with three points, but that doesn't mean they didn't score a huge victory.

Mathias Gretler and Varlam Kovalev provided goals as the Phoenixes recovered from two deficits and battled the Red Panjias to a 2-2 draw in an anticipated match between qualifying contenders at the Libira National Stadium in Fiskadaha City.

"We would have rather had three points," captain Lukas Meyer said, "and of course we are a little disappointed because we thought we had chances to do so. But we got one point on the road against a very good team. We didn't let them get the three points and we're still in the hunt."

Jordan Huerta struck first for Poafmersia in the 27th minute before Gretler answered just five minutes later on a give-and-go play with Kent Lindblad. The Phoenixes fought back in similar fashion in the second half, ratcheting up the pressure following a 53rd-minute strike from Bolivar Tamura and culminating in Kovalev's blast from twenty yards out in the 61st minute. Both teams showed their emphasis and skill at attacking football in the final half-hour of the game and each squad generated multiple chances to break the tie, in particular a last-ditch shot from Aapeli Shea that rattled the crossbar above George Ross' head, but the score remained 2-2 at the final whistle.

"It was a thrilling game for us to play," said Gretler, who is playing his first World Cup. "We play similar styles, a lot of pressing forward but not a lot of possession. It was hectic at times but both of us showed a lot of skill in all parts of the field. This could have been a win for either team and a draw somehow seems like a proper result. We hope that having them in Athens will push the result towards us. If we keep playing well, that would be a big win."

Rahmonberdi Zhusupov, the more veteran of the Phoenixes' center backs, started ahead of the younger Marc Champagne for the first time this cycle in what manager Boris Ishutin announced as a "tactical decision" and was effective in his role. Ishutin declined to comment on his future plans for the position.

The Phoenixes are currently second in Group 1 with a 5-2-1 record and 17 points, a point ahead of Sharktail and just one point behind Ko-oren. However, they await the results of Nyowani Kitara and Poafmersia, who are one and three points adrift but each have a game in hand; the halfway mark of the qualifying phase will give a good look at where the teams stand. The Phoenixes will host Sharktail in Crystal Lake and visit Southwest Eastnorth before that point. The former match is yet another crucial meetup between the second and third standing teams in the group; the latter a potential pitfall, with SWEN currently well out of the running but similarly ranked to the Phoenixes and still a threat at home.

The Delaclava team is well-aware that despite outperforming expectations, they are still working to overcome the lack of form and inexperience they have shown in the past. "We're in a wonderful but tough fight here, and we're working every day to make sure we hang on to our spot," said Ben Romeijn. "There are only a few teams in the running, but eleven teams total, and a bad performance against any one of them could derail our hopes. We won't look past anyone, we'll give all teams the proper respect and earn the three points on the field, not on paper."

The Tjorlish Rainbow - An Overview of the Main Competing Political Parties in Tjorl [PART I]

— SOSIAL DEMOKRATISK PARTI —
Leader: Lis Ragnvald Gunnarson
Ideology: Social democracy
Position: Centre to centre-left
Nickname: SDP | Knappen
Symbol: Button

No party has ruled Tjorl longer than the SDP. After Lis Gunnarson first rose to power in 2018, the Knappen is again looking to win the most seats in Tjorl's Montertag, which they are expected to do. With Gunnarson's successful first term as Prime Minister and Tjorl's continuous prosperity even in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, it comes as no surprise that a chunk of supporters from other parties have switched to the Knappen. Traditionally, they have been the party representing the working classes. Like before, the SDP seems prioritize issues in social policy and work reform. They have advocated for raising the minimum wage, heavier taxes for the high income classes, a minimum old-age pension, and a welfare state. They have also supported international cooperation, especially with other Oatlandian nations, and environmental protection and conservation.

About the leader: Lis Ragnvald Gunnarson is a Tjorlish politican currently serving as the Prime Minister of Tjorl since 2018. Born in Neuberg, Gunnarson graduated from the University of Nordplatz with a degree in business administration and a master's degree in political science. She then served as the Minister of Trade and Industry from 2010 to 2014 and as the President of the Montertag from 2014 to 2018. After Arnold Finn stepped down as leader of the SDP before the 2018 federal elections, Gunnarson was voted in as the Knappen's leader with 54.2% of the vote. She then faced even more success in even more important elections, as her party won the most seats, and she became the Prime Minister. Tjorl experienced a stable rise in GDP as well as various social policy changes under Gunnarson, such as the aforementioned raising of minimum wage and an increase income tax for the wealthy. She has also supported the renationalization of public utilities such as the rail transportation industry.

— UNION SAMFUNNS NASJONAL —
Leader: Hallvard Bertram Karlsen
Ideology: Liberal conservatism
Position: Centre to centre-right
Nickname: USN | Ankeren
Symbol: Anchor

As one of Tjorl's traditional "Major Three" parties (along with the SDP and the TMP), the Ankeren have also played a major role in Tjorlish history, especially in the 1970s and 2000s, during the peak of their power. However, with the emergence of new political parties that give new choices for Tjorlish citizens, the USN's influence has slowly dwindled in the past decade. Since 2014, they have been the major party in opposition to the Knappen administrations, and are now looking for a rejuvenation in the 2022 elections. As for political stances, the Ankeren have been known to be more accepting of liberal economic concepts, but to also be supportive of conservative social ideas. As a result, a number of key figures in the Ankeren have been known to be a bit more on edge towards important social issues such as LGBTQ+ and abortion rights. The USN has also pushed for stricter security enforcement with the involvement of the Nasjonalaer (the Tjorlish armed forces).

— DE GRÖNNEN —
Leader: Sigrún Ilsa Veronika
Ideology: Green politics
Position: Centre-left
Nickname: Skogen
Symbol: Tree

Probably the fastest-growing political party in Tjorl, De Grönnen have shown that they can play an influential role in Tjorlish politics, even if they are not the ones who snatches the most seats in the Montertag. As their name and ideology suggests, De Grönnen's priority is the protection and conservation of the environment, lesser use of non-renewable sources, and the banning of practices that can be considered detrimental to an ecosystem and/or the health of the ordinary Tjorlish citizen, such as open-pit mining. They first emerged on the Tjorlish political scene in 2006, when they surprisingly won the third-most seats out of any party, their most successful campaign at the time. Even if they are still far off from actually getting the most seats, they cooperate closely with the bigger parties, especially with the SDP, to help work on their ideas of environmental conservation. In the upcoming elections, they are expected to either get the third-most or fourth-most seats in parliament.

Tjorl grabs an important win against Yuezhou after a disappointing draw against North and South Vietnam

Before their upcoming bye week, De Frostkjemper were looking to snatch some important points against North and South Vietnam and Yuezhou. However, not everything went their way again. After what was a extremely uninspiring game, Tjorl dropped even more points in a 0-0 draw against North and South Vietnam, not a result they want and need. Fortunately, things went a bit more smoothly against Yuezhou. An early first-half strike from midfield maestro Johan Kalbfleisch was all it took for Tjorl to gain the momentum they needed. While they didn't convert most of the chances they had, the solid defense was able to seal the crucial three points for De Frostkjemper. In a post-match interview, coach Viktor Mandel said "Considering that all of our opponents have much more experience and history, it's nice to see that we're competing at this level. However, me and the players know that what we are doing is not enough, so again we promise to change that." Currently, Tjorl sits in sixth place with 11 points, which can be overtaken by Oberour Ar Moro if they win their games in hand.

WORLD CUP 91 -Farfadillis / Graintfjall/ Turori

BACK TO THE PAST VS FUN FACTS

Our national senior team competed in two qualifying cycles for WC, WC88 and WC89. The fun fact is that both times in the group we finished in sixth place. Another fun fact is that in both qualifying cycles we had the same number of wins as defeats.
The Srednjacian team never scored an own goal and only twice had a direct red card for exclusion.
Isidor Matković is the only player who scored goals with his right and left foot, but also with his head.
The national team played three matches at the stadium in Bistua Nuova and lost all three, since then the national team no longer plays at that stadium.

KATANIJA , NATIONAL STADIUM : BLUE OYSTER

Katanija is the capital of DR Srednjaci. It is also the largest city in the country. Economic, political and military center. Katanija has the strongest financial sector in the country and also has the most universities.
Image Image

KATANIJA is the capital with 19,000,000 inhabitants.
It is the seat of government and the economic center of DR Srednjaci.
Katanija is first mentioned 600 years ago when in a storm merchants from the north strayed and came across the settlement.
Katanija in the old language means "enter". The language barrier actually gave the settlement its name. The merchant knocked on the door and asked the host what the name of this place was, and the host replied with a smile, "Katanija = come in," thinking that the merchant was asking him if he could take shelter from the rain.
Katanija began to develop later with the establishment of a trading post and an administrative building. With the arrival of the scholar Don Bernard Rivić, the first high school was established.
Peoples from the east also immigrated to Katanija, bringing with them other crafts such as glassmaking and goldsmithing.
The development of Katanija briefly stopped the pre-medieval war of the peoples of the Far East. After a siege of the city that lasted 6 weeks, the city surrendered to the khanata of Wei Xu.
Due to the disease of his troops and lack of food, the Easterners withdrew back to their Changxi empire.
Katania moved forward to a new war. King Dalat 2 established the Central Kingdom of Dalatia and declared Katanija the capital. He built a magnificent palace, today it is a museum and cultural heritage, a tourist attraction.
After the unification of all the slanders, Katanija briefly lost its position, but after the civil war and the establishment of the Republic, Katanija regained its position as the capital.
Katanija is the only city in DR Srednjaci that has two civilian airports.
It is located in the southeast of the country towards the border of today's Saint Shokai.
To the north are the slopes of the mountain Bijeli Vrh and to the south is Lake Bulat.
The river Modra flows through the town itself, which springs on the slopes of the mountain and flows into the sea.
The river Modra is navigable, so it transports goods and people.
In addition to the nearby mountain, on the east side are wooded hills and a national nature park.
Hikers, recreationists and mountaineers love to stay in these hills. The mountain lodges offer original food and drinks and the nature park has limited access to people so as not to disturb the biodiversity and ecosystem.

HISTORY

The history of Melarit dates back to ancient times. Melarit was an important city for trade.

All this leaves a lot of room for the development of the city in education and science.
