National Anthem--"Hear Our Voices Commonwealth"

Nickname--since the end of the 1960's the National Team has been known as "The Bees", a period when the team's uniforms consisted of alternating black and gold hoops.
Previous to that time and subsequently through periods in the 1980's and 90's, the team was usually referred to by the county's national animal, the Elks; the women's National Team were always 'Lady Elks' until the advent of mixed gender play, which was revived during the Jenna Raven Cup and there are still numerous mentions of Elks in the supporters song “We are the Gold & Black”, which currently has close to 175 stanzas.

Colors--Black & Gold (while they are just 2 of the 5 main colors on the flag of Baker Park--Blue, Red and White are the others--black & gold have been closely associated in the nation's consciousness as representative of the country since its founding.)

About Togonistan:

Togonistan is an island archipelago located in eastern Novapax with a total land area is 60 561.07 sq km and a population of 5.2 million. Togonistan has a tropical maritime climate that is usually hot and humid. There are three seasons: the hot dry season or summer from March to May; the rainy season from June to November; and the cool dry season from December to February. Temperatures usually range from 21 °C (70 °F) to 32 °C (90 °F) although it can get cooler or hotter depending on the season. The coolest month is January; the warmest is May. Most of the islands is covered in tropical rainforest and is volcanic in origin. Togonistan's official language is English, however, native Togoni-Maori is also commonly spoken and taught in schools alongside English.

Fanbase:

Association Football is the most popular sport in Togonistan, which is being played both on domestic as well as international levels. Togonistani national team, nicknamed ''Yellow Warriors'' is held in high respect amongst the local football fans, who wholeheartedly keep supporting their national team, despite the latter not having shown that great results in international competitions. Fans, while generally cheerful and peaceful, do tend to be loud on the stadium. The traditional Togoni haka war chant has been integrated to the footballing scene, with Togonistani fans often chanting in support of their team, putting down a rather spectacular performance on the stadium.

The Stadium:

Tushlark Stadium, located in the southern districts of Tushlark, is Togonistani National Football Team's home stadium. With capacity of 30 000 spectators, it is the second-biggest football arena in the nation. The stadium was built in 1993, and has since been an important landmark of the city, having hosted various sporting events as well as concerts. Tushlark Stadium is also home stadium for FC Tushlark Elks, one of the oldest clubs in Togonistan.

Matches will be held in Tiên Sơn Stadium (Đà Nẵng). As for the climate, it tends to vary across different regions of the country. In the case of Đà Nẵng, visitors need not to worry about rain for the next few months, as the dry season here lasts until September. However, it tends to be very dry and hot at this point, and visitors may expect temperatures of up to 41.1 degrees Celsius, so we have constructed additional air conditioners in anticipation of the event. Except for guns, cigarettes and drugs, nothing is really banned here, and visitors are fine here as long as they do not cause any trouble for the locals. Speaking of locals, people here are generally friendly and are happy (for the most part) to receive visitors. While hotels and other types of accomodation are already well-provided, due to the fact tthat Đà Nẵng is a tourist spot, known for its beaches and mountains, visitors are encouraged to get out and experience local Vietnamese culture, especially the food and the crafting villages.
The head coach of the team is Mr Nguyễn Thuần Lành (born 1963) who has had 20 years of coaching experience. There are three assistant coaches, listed as follows:

Emerging from a bloody civil war that saw Pyazhnaya shake off the shackles of communism, the country is now opening up from its forced isolation, trying to form ties to the international sporting community. For many Pyazhnayans football was the one pastime that united them, despite the corrution scandals that had shaken the league for a long time, with the communist leaders moving players around to their favourite clubs and quenching opposition. Several clubs were dissolved after the war was over and now the Pyzhnayan Football Federation is picking up the pieces and trying to unite everything and everybody. The Xannerian National was the national team's first venture onto the international stage, but the first edition of CAFA in Legalese was the first official tournament of Pyazhnaya, where they were only knocked out by Saltstead in the quarter finals. They did, however, gain the attention of the international football community in their participation in the Baptism of Fire 76 tournament, where they pulled off the very rare feat of a perfect tournament, winning it with nine victories in a row, securing Pyazhnaya a record in the tournament's history books. The qualification campaign for World Cup 89 did not quite continue in the same vein, with the Phoenix finishing in eighth position with a still respectable 21 points, with their sophomore campaign suffering from too many inconsistencies. Now at their third try, they hope for at least an improvement, being realistic enough that qualifying for the World Cup itself likely is out of reach.

Aleksandr Zavrashin - 42
Aleksandr Zavrashin's spell as national coach for Pyazhnaya has proven to be a very successful one with the nation's victory at the Baptism of Fire. Employing a flexible 4-4-2 that allows the players freedom to roam depending on the situation in the game, it makes the islanders very difficult to prepare for, even though they still have a few issues with sometimes being too unpredictable even for each other, but also given the young ages of many of the first team players, this is something that more experience should be able to alleviate.

GK Maksimilian Chupov - 21 - Shakhter Khilvoysk
Despite his young age, Maksimilian Chupov is the probably best netminder in Pyazhnaya with catlike reflexes and good aerial prowess. His main weakness is the command of his defense, which is due to his inexperience, but exacerbated by the fact that three of the four players ahead of him are 21 and younger as well.
LB Vasily Fanin - 21 - Torpedo Krasnograd
Lightning quick on his feet, Fanin is a left back of the modern school, fast to move forward and back, with a knack for nice crosses into the opponents' box. However he still gets caught out of position too often and then has to scramble back.
CB Ulyona Khomkolova - 23 - Emberton Hibernians (KRY)
From champions FK Vselitamak, Khomkolova is as uncompromising in challenges as they come. Her grace has been likened to a disgruntled rhino before morning caffeine, but does she ever get the job done. Don't expect any technical finesse or beautiful ball distribution, if you find yourself within a few feet with her, either be very quick or ready to get closely acquainted with the grass underneath. After a bidding war in the last transfer window, she signed a contract with the Emberton Hibernians in Krytenia.
CB Valentin Annenkov - 24 - Mazhny Park Severoyarsk
Where Khomkolova is the brick wall, Annenkov is a hidden playmaker in the back. Pundits have said that when footballing magic was handed out, he stepped in front of Ulyona and got her portion as well. Nimble footed and with a great eye to open up the game from the back he can take on the role of a defensive midfielder, going with Zavrashin's directive of flexibility. He is, however, relatively short for a centre back, which can pose issues for a more kick and rush orientated offense.
RB Maksimilan Trukhin - 28 - Straton FC (TMB)
For most parts of the game he is almost unnoticeable, but that does not mean that he is not playing well. Immensely efficient in defensive play, he often shies away from venturing too far into the opposing half, but he knows how to shut down oncoming traffic by suddenly being in the right spot at the right time.
LM Gennady Burtsov - 32 - Advance Alara (KOR)
One of the more experienced players in the squad, Burtsov had been a mainstay for Prizrachnaya Brigada for many years before making the big step into Ko-oren. Equipped with a horse lung he can run up and down for 90 minutes and barely break a sweat, running the opposition ragged. Not a magician on the field, he is one of the players necessary so that others can work their midfield magic.
CM Andrey Guslyakov - 21 - Prizrachnaya Brigada Cherniy Zamok
One of Pyazhnaya's raw diamonds, Guslyakov is the magician that a player like Burtsov allows to shine. Fleet-footed and graceful he has all the tools to become a bonafide playmaker that can dance around an opponent like it's nothing and also has a great shot. He just needs to bulk up a bit and work on his decision making, which at times can be a little, let's call it, surprising. Even for his own team mates.
CM Timur Krasnopyorov - 32 - Marthorpe City FC (FVA)
Another veteran, Krasnyoporov is the safety net for Guslyakov with his ability to shut down oncoming attacks quickly and turn play around. Where Guslyakov's shots are finessed, his are more of the steamhammer kind. He is lacking some precision, but sometimes brute force is just the right tool to get things done.
RM Inna Parshikova - 24 - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT)
Another player to have eyes on her from different scouting departments is Inna Parshikova, who has been a shooting star during the last season. Literally nobody has had her on their notepads before the season started and now she is considered the next breakout star. Blessed with tactical acumen way beyond her years, she is equally dangerous for scoring and passing, making her a total footballing package as she also is quite capable of withstanding tackles. She was one of the first Pyazhnayans venturing abroad and after a spell in the Squornshelan Remnant States now calls Parakleion home.
FW Vsevolod Bogolyubsky - 22 - Robur Astelo (SOR)
Seen as the brightest Pyazhnayan forward prospect, Bogolyubsky has made some great progress since his transfer to San Ortelio and has taken over as second starting forward next to Larisa Nekrestyanova, not least due to Svetlana Ananyeva's decreasing speed that now is making her a great and dangerous impact sub. Bogolyubsky is Surprisingly quick and agile for a forward of his size, with a towering aerial presence and a much improved scoring record since his move.
FW Larisa Nekrestyanova - 31 - Vilharady Owls FC (TKT)
The second player playing in Tikariot, Nekrestyanova has convinced management in Vilharady so much in her brief stint during the second half of the TPL season to secure her a starting position for the upcoming season. Not so much a born goal scorer, she can weave her way in and out of the penalty box and is great to lay off the ball for oncoming midfielders or put sharp crosses for conversion. She is, however, also adept in scoring, making her an all around offensive threat.

The Krasnograd Dome in the Pyazhnayan capital is usually the home of Torpedo Krasnograd, but also is the stadium for the national team. With 61,000 seats it is the largest and also most modern stadium in the country, featuring all the amenities international guests expect from an international venue and its picturesque location near the waterfront also makes it easily reachable by public transit from the airport or city centre.

Team Cassadaigua- World Cup 91

Coach- Brittany Byers (56)
With Stephanie Sweeney now serving as the President of CASE, a new manager was needed for the Fillies for the first time since our return. Byers was the logical choice, since she had often been the backup national team manager, anyway. Has coached in the Copa Rushmori on multiple occasions, and was an assistant to Sweeney in World Cup 87, before being named the manager of the team prior to World Cup 88. Since that point, the results have been positive, so Brittany continues in this position for #91. Sure, there are some nations who would see a coach like this, and look at the recent run of Round of 16 exits and think that a change should be made, but CASE has never been like that. Byers is still the right person for the job. She scored her biggest coaching success recently when Cassadaigua won Copa Rushmori 40. As a player, the ex-defender played in World Cups 78 and 79, and was the captain of those teams. Also led Brattleboro FC to a national championship during her tenure there, but she no longer manages at the domestic level to focus on the national team.

Assistant- Hannah Shanley (Starksville United) (46)
Starting defender from World Cups 80-83, and then served as a regular substitute in World Cup 84. Has served in this role since World Cup 85, and that includes while she was still active as a player for a little while. Some are beginning to think that Shanley might be a little too focused on the national team, given Starksville United’s struggles of late.

This is the same threesome as World Cup 90, in the same roles, so you might be thinking it is more of the same for Team Cassadaigua in World Cup 91. Well, it is but it isn’t. In World Cup 90, all three of these goalkeepers got steady playing time as starters as Brittany Byers felt that they all deserved that kind of playing time. That is not going to happen in World Cup 91. The job is Cynthia Kerr’s. She has continued to play well, and was instrumental in the Fillies winning Copa Rushmori 40. There will be occasions where Byers may decide to play Schnapper or possibly Thornton, but Cynthia Kerr being in goal for pretty much every game is anticipated as long as she stays healthy. Some in Cassadaigua would have wanted Stacie Thornton to be ready for a starting role now, but that has not really happened. Some would have liked to have seen Rachel Clarrett, of White Mountain, get a chance here over Thornton, feeling that Thornton benefitted in the decision to still be on the national team due to playing for a bigger market team.

There are changes here, with two of the four starters from the World Cup 90 team no longer playing at the international level. One of them is former captain Michelle Graves, who is now 34, and still active with Victoriaville City but not quite able to play at this level now. Reportedly, Byers offered Graves a reserve spot, but Michelle turned it down. Sierra Swift also does not return. Filling their roles are Brianna Ward and Madison Rutland, two younger players who absolutely thrived as starters in the Copa Rushmori 40 title. After winning that, you just knew that they were going to be given a great opportunity here. Now, they are starters. Ward brings a high physical element to the game. Not quite Lupe Enriquez level, but something that the Fillies could have used a little more of in recent World Cups. Madison Rutland, too, likes that role, but not quite as much. Shannon McCausland posted on twii’tur that she was upset about not getting a chance to start in the Copa Rushmori, and you have to wonder if that post led to her downgrade here.

In World Cup 90, you would have not have anticipated a lot of turnover for World Cup 91, so there are a couple of surprising changes. But first, we’ll start with what stays the same, and that would be Morgan Rosenblatt, who has simply done everything that she has been asked to do at the international level. Morgan has had a great career with AFC Treason, and playing at that level of club football has made her cool under pressure with the international team. She will be the captain for the first time here, and that was probably an easy choice. The other returnee is Krystal Sherwin. The best way to describe Krystal is that she is the type of player who’s not going to lead the club in goals but quietly finds her name on the scoresheet more often than you would think. Kelsey Werth is coming off a great Copa Rushmori, and Emily Doran has forced the acceleration of her career path with great play. Tara Kriedel is a steady producer. This led to Allison Rice falling on the depth chart, as several bypass her. World Cup 90 starter Danielle Porter was surprisingly (to some) bypassed off this roster.

There is no surprise that Jenna Frontiera is back in the starting role here. She opted out of the Copa Rushmori to deal with personal issues that you will probably hear talked about over the course of qualifying. She also wants to redeem herself a little bit, because if you recall she struggled in qualifying for World Cup 90, though picked it up in the World Cup. There was question as to whether or not Anderson or Boldin would bypass Bayley Stanton, but Bayley erased any thoughts of that after a great season with Concord Heights City. Expect to see Anderson and Boldin get significant playing time, and you can be certain that at least one of them will be substituted into a game. One of the things Byers likes to do late in a game is enter in either of them for midfielder Tara Kriedel as opposed to taking out either Frontiera or Stanton. A couple of other young players get the chance to serve as reserves as veterans Madison McClain and Loreen Hazen move on.

Poafmersian fans are crazy about football, and their loud cheers ring about in the stadiums they visit. They are very willing to disturb the peace in the area to celebrate their win after matches, so matches are best held in the afternoon or early evenings. You can spot Poafmers booking large meeting rooms in hotels, going to bars in groups. Apart from that, they do pick up after themselves, and prevent causing much trouble apart from celebrating. Home Stadium
For the entire duration of the qualifiers, Poafmersia will be playing their home games at the Libira National Stadium. To accommodate a rising interest in football, there was a slight layout change and stand refurbishment being done prior to the qualifiers, and as such, the stadium capacity has been increased to 70 thousand seated pax. The stadium is located in Fiskadaha City, capital of Poafmersia. To travel to the city, direct flights are provided from many major capital cities around the world. Within Poafmersia, however, public transport, such as trains and buses, are the preferred mode of transport, and there are rail lines available between Fiskadaha and many major cities in the country.

Lance Logan earned his position as the starting goalkeeper of the Brook following a series of disappointing performances from Latibeaudiere. Logan on the other hand made use of his time in Cathair and saw a significant improvement. Logan has always proved his potential in the field and became the youngest goalkeeper to earn a starting position in the team, credited for his sharp reflexes and precision is going to remain the first choice goalkeeper of the team and is predicted to start in most of the matches. Noor Ali's return to the team was not foreseen by anyone but after a long period of 5 years, Ali made his return at the age of 33, bringing a lot of experience with him. Ali's move to Izotz Zubia, undoubtedly one of the best clubs in the world was a great boost to the latter part of his career. Ali's strength combined with his agility will provide the Brook defense assurity to a certain level. Caceres is a typical full-back and can play both on the left and right sides. He is quite the safe full-back, who never makes a mistake in defensive positioning. He had a fruitful time in Graentfjall and learnt a lot from there. Caceres had played really well in the Twin Premier League and that is what caught the attention of manager Soham Misra's attention. Caceres is going to be an undisputed starter throughout the qualifiers and his performance in the qualifiers is going to decide his future. Then there is young Geovani Angeles who completed a seasion in Chromatika playing for Urrhed FC. Geovani is young defender who recently won the Twin Premier League with Dreamland City. He has been a very important part in Dreamland's defense and has a bright future ahead of him. Angeles plays a crucial role in the defense and builds the opportunities from the defense. Billy plans of making him play most of the matches to test out his abilities. Apart from the young blood, there remains the likes of Nate Harlow, the most capped Brook defender. Harlow's specialty is to understand his team no matter which player plays and that makes him the first pick in the team. He evenly makes contributions to the midfield and adapts to his team mates' style on the field very quickly. Adrian Gigore is going to be a starting option at the right back. Gigore is very energetic on the field and the best tackler on the team.
However, Browne would not be playing the starting team at every match as he wants his players to get adequate rest and thus the backup options in the team would be Jayden Alonso, a very fast and energetic player, Alonso focuses on assisting and scoring goals. Tough Rasihawn Donaldson is also going to be there in the team. He has been a good substitute in the team for a long time and his ability to quickly adapt to the field whenever he is brought in is going to be really beneficial for Misra to try out his new team and strategies.

If you want to have a particularly strong team with a good defense and a good attacking lineup, it would be necessary to strengthen the link between them which is the midfield. The midfield is perhaps the strongest point of the Brookstation national team. Starting with Vassell in the left to Veum in the right, the midfield has seen a number of changes this time. Vassell's performance in the Twin Premier League gained him a move to Euran clup Aspel. Vassell is deemed as an appropriate replacement of Jean Jacks who has been completely out of shape for the past few months mainly owing to injuries. Jean Pierre Polnareff is obviously there in the squad. Polnareff was always a great midfielder and in fact it would be safe to say that our win against Nephara came more or less thanks to him. Polnareff would be Brookstation's first choice free kick taker. Finally there would be Veum in the right, will allow him to open attacks from the right. Veum's chemistry with Vassel and Polnareff has been impressive which makes it easier for the team to coordinate better. Veum is a promising midfielder .Veum tends to come deeper and get open inside the hole between the opposition lines which has helped the team to get goals earlier and hopefully will this time also. Alexis de la Vega will also be a regular starter who will be ready to come to the field at any point of the match when required. de la Vega has a lot of experience and he is going to be prepared to come out on the field. Vincent Mignolet is a new inclusion to the team seeing that he performed well in his club in Zeta Reka. Mignolet performs his role well and he exploits wide angles for chance creation. He does this primarily with through balls, where successful ones are important in determining the outcome of a counter-attack. There is also Roles

After a long wait, Robes was finally able to gain an international move to Turori. The attack is going to led by captain Leon Michael Robes as usual. Currently a player of Cednia Beach AFC, he is by far the most successful captain of Brookstation ever leading Brookstation to their first football trophy. He is a dangerous striker and has a beautiful style of play. Once he gets the ball to his feet, he rarely misses the chance to score. His assistant wingmen would be John J Johnson and Johannes Kehr. John has a swift style of play and his long passes help setting up his fellow strikers. He is also a fast and agile winger who can overcome defenders with his speed. Following Cust's retirement, 23 year old Kehr has been regarded as the "future Cust". A great dribbler and a possessor of a wide variety of moves, Kehr has become a young sensation in Brookstation and earned a transfer to Rutland Dockside. Onfroy is the player whom the fans want on the field due to the wide range of tricks he possesses and more importantly due to his ability to pull them off confidently. Then there is Hoogewarf, the captain of the U-18 national team who helped them reach the Quarter Finals of the U-18 World Cup. This tournament will be his opportunity to bring out his skills in front of the crowd and prove himself a worthy striker. Two reserve strikers, Weasley and Poe will also be part of the Brook team. Both the young strikers have shown their potential in the past and deserved a position in the team.

For all the progress that Ázëwyn Fëanáro made with the national team from World Cup 78 onwards - winning the AOCAF Cup and the Under 18 World Cup, reaching the Finals of the World Cup, Under-18 and Under-21 World Cups - it was the World Cup 90 cycle that saw her downfall. Failing to even make the playoffs as a result of being in a group with Esportivan and IAC champions, she was given an ultimatum: win the 82nd Cup of Harmony or lose your job. The wrong side of a 5-4 thriller to eventual champions Chromatika in the semi-final proved to be too stern a test, and she left her role after the third-place play-off and the emotionally underwhelming presentation of those bronze medals.

Five-time World, seven-time Regional, two-time Under-21, one-time Under-18 and one-time Olympic Men's Football champions sounded out several club-level managers from Liga Starblaydia as potential replacements, but ultimately went for an extraordinary candidate: Tlanx-Nulzk Han of Qusmo. The 66 year old two-time Galactico Manager becomes the first ever non-Starblaydi coach of the national team and proves that, now the tricentennial celebrations are over, the SFA is willing to go to any lengths to make that long climb to the top of the mountain once again. As the team approaches its 2,000th match, there's no better time to freshen up the ideas and approach, while still retaining the festival of diverse attacking football that Starblaydi fans have gotten used to. This time, though, it's Tlanxball, baby.

Two-time KarlingSport Galactico Manager of the Season and former manager of Salstead and Savigliane, Tlanx-Nulzk keeps their streak of S-nations alive by taking the reigns and becoming the first non-Starblaydi coach of the national team in their three hundred year history. An attacking-focused manager who likes to play a 4–3–3 and advocates for social, political and human rights causes, it's a venture into Tlanxball for the five-time world champions, looking to a well-regarded and, in Saviglane, much-loved coach.

The Overdrive 'keeper is known for fast hands and getting down low. Savino has had a decent enough start at youth international level and has now been brought into the side for her first look at the sharp end of top level football. Not expected to make many, if any, appearances, but there's nothing like having a young goalie travel the world, soak in the atmosphere and keep the starters on their toes.

2. Jamelia Soule*, RB/RM, 21 - Iskara Daii -

A dead ball specialist with one of the cleanest strikes of the ball you're likely to see, Soule is the complete modern full-back. Often deployed in midfield for the Daii, the one question on her skills is actually at defending, and though she's often seen as a weak link and targeted by opponents, her record more than speaks for itself already.

3. Oksana Shevchenko*, LB/LW, 25 - Beverington Hawks -

Listed as a defender but equally comfortable at your corner flag or the opposition's, don't be fooled by her relatively short stature. She's fast, really fast, and has great skills with the ball at her feet. Low centre of gravity and a quick turn keeps opponents away from the ball, and a killer final ball is ready to unlock a defence or smash in a goal.

5. Serafim Tassidis, Captain, CB, 27 - Ionia United -

Retaining his captaincy from the 3rd CAFA Cup, Tassidis is a tall and powerfully-built defender, but uncannily light on his feet with a superb reading of the game. He's got an educated left foot, too, and has more than enough ability to bring the ball out of defence, or track wide and cover the space left by an attacking full-back with ease.

6. Grzegorz Wójcik, CB, 23 - Hallad Reavers -

Coming through the ranks at the Reavers and already a solid member of the first team there, he provides a one man wall in any defence, but this belies Wójcik's touch on the ball. A combination of aggressive and composed, he looks like a monster but can be a dancer with the ball at his feet. Young, but with a huge amount of potential.

13. Jose Antonio Marqués, L/CB, 29 - Corinthian Spirits -

Energy: that's the key word to describe Marqués' game, and in the forward-minded 4-3-3 where the full-backs are expected to not only defend but also provide attacking width, verve and overloads down the wings, the Spirits player has managed to survive the squad's fresh start after World Cup 90's disaster. The man has energy to burn sprinting up and down the left side all day, but questions still remain over his defensive ability.

14. Elisa Koivula*, CB, 28 - Hecia -

First brought into the senior squad for the 3rd CAFA Cup, Koivula is a solid if uninspiring centre back, strong in the air and with a good reading of the game. Don't expect her to go on marauding runs in possession, but in a similar vein don't expect her to be massively caught out by your average forward with tricky movement.

20. Charlotte Watson*, R/CB, 26 - Jhan Province -

In need of a backup right-back, Jhan Province's Watson is untested at senior level, but makes an ideal replacement to change up the defence, as she's a more traditional fullback, also able to play as a central defender and let the left sided fullback push as far up the pitch as they like.

Sometimes you need a player on a team who the opposition hates, the crowd sneers at and the referee has to keep their eye on, drawing all the negative attention to allow the rest to play more freely. Ludwig is exactly that kind of woman. Happy to put in a late boot or an early elbow, she's a smart defender who can really get under the opposition's skin. Always protesting innocence and highlighting infringements against her, her veteran's experience wil lserve the bench and the squad rotation throughout the Qualifiers well.

4. Henry Whittaker, C/DM, 25 - Paricone Athletic FC -

An all-action combative defensive midfield, Whittaker has the long limbs and engine of a player who can be a constant thorn in the opposition's attacks. Sometimes he can be a bit too aggressive or strong in the challenge, but that just makes his own fans love him more.

7. Stefania Clarke*, RM, 26 - Iskara Daii -

9 Caps, 5 Goals (5 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
An old-fashioned right midfielder, she's fast and has a wonderful touch on the ball with crosses and set-pieces. Stronger than most give her credit for, Clarke's vision and passing skills will definitely relied upon during this tournament, she's unlucky that the system doesn't quite gel with her best abilities. Her all round drive and leadership qualities, however, stand her in great stead.

8. Dawn Halleck-Winter*, C/AM, 22 - Tabeck FC -

21 Caps, 7 Goals (5 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Playing with her head up and always looking to go forward, Halleck-Winter has already demonstrated she's an excellent player. From late arrivals into the box to long shots from distance, or getting up to support the central strikers and be a key part of the attack, Halleck-Winter has a lot of tools in her arsenal.

15. Michael Torgue, C/DM, 23 - Beverington Hawks -

Uncapped (8 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
Fresh from holding the centre of the pitch at the 53rd Di Bradini Cup, Torgue is the natural successor for Whittaker in the long run, and may even be able to give him a run for his money during these Qualifiers. Does his best work of interceptions and breaking down attacks almost invisibly, and if you don't notice him for a period of play, he's probably doing his job perfectly well.

16. Rosinha Silva*, C/AM, 28 - Vecchio Victors -

Uncapped (12 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Unlucky not to have featured in a senior squad until now, mostly thanks to the likes of Shinoda and Halleck-Winter, but also to the lack of need for specialised attacking midfielders in squads, as Fëanáro preferred all-round midfielders who relied on athleticism, vision and touch. Silva uses short bursts of speed, a good range of passing, and an ability to find enough space to turn and shoot in the proverbial phonebox to maximum effect.

22. Leilani Kukui*, L/AM, 19 - Samosisos Blues -

The youngest player in the squad, the diminutive Kukui has bags of potential and the work ethic to match. Seemingly always able to find that extra half a yard to put in a cross or a shot, her hallmarks are quick feet and exceptional ball control.

9. Joe Mason, CF/SC, 26 - Iskara Daii -

12 Caps, 5 Goals (6 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Causing trouble in the box and strong as an ox, Mason provides the target-man plan B for this team, as well as being an instant draw for defenders who often can't cope with his size and power, but all that casts a deceptive shadow over just how good he is on the ball, and how much of a link-up player he is both in the air and on the floor. A winger's dream target man in the middle.

10. Asimodeo Fiola, SC, 30 - Tuncastle Rovers -

10 Caps, 2 Goals (7 Caps, 4 Goals at youth level)
It's always a tough work-rate at the Rovers, and Fiola has played himself into both the shop window and the national team picture with his excellent recent season at Tuncastle. Preferring to break the offisde trap and play between the lines, he can be an absolute handful against a rigid defence, popping up all over the place in seemingly acres of space.

11. Hassan Al Faizan, SC, 22 - Cedrus Soundgardia -

22 Caps, 15 Goals (9 Caps, 5 Goals at youth level)
Al Faizan's potential is near limitless: incredibly fast, primarily left footed but also comfortable shooting on his right, he can play anywhere along the front three. His speed and pressing is suited perfectly to Tlanxball. The Under-21 captain, fireworks are expected from this kid whenever he plays, and he rarely disappoints. Along with Pukkinen, one of only two strikers retained from the World Cup 90 Qualifying squad.

17. Haruto Fukuwara, RW/LW, 21 - Tuncastle Rovers -

4 Caps, 0 Goals (3 Caps, 0 Goals at youth level)
One day it will be firmly established as to whether Fukuwara is better on his left or his right foot. A fast wing wizard in the mold of semi-mythical players like Jaime Kuu, Cherry Garcia and Stefan Haldorsson. Speed and tricks a-plenty, he's able to draw a foul and put in a decent cross, but often the quality of the final ball just isn't quite there.

18. Yuri Pukkinen, SC, 23 - Jhanna City -

11 Caps, 5 Goals (10 Caps, 2 Goals at youth level)
Playing up front at JCFC, you'd expect Pukkinen to be a big, strong centre-forward type, but in fact he plays what everywhere else could be called the 'False 9' role, dropping deep to bring in the players around him, relying on movement and cleverness to create goals, rather than being the one who bangs them in. He'll offer something completely different to other strikers when he makes appearances, be it as a sub or in the matches against lesser-regarded opponents. Along with Al Faizan, one of only two strikers retained from the World Cup 90 Qualifying squad.

23. Cornelius Redskye, SC, 19 - Beverington Hawks -

2 Caps, 1 Goal (2 Caps, 1 Goal at youth level)
Cornelius "100% Banter Goals only" Redskye is the young man you need when you need an outrageous goal. In off his arse, a looping header from all of 35 yards, rainbow flick over the goalkeeper - he just doesn't score ordinary goals, or ones that don't matter.

Play style
The 4-3-3 was Fëanáro's go-to formation from youth teams right up to the senior side from World Cup 78-90, and the SFA's appointment of Tlanx-Nulzk looks to continue that trend, as they have long favoured that formation. The 4-3-3 relying on a high press throughout the team, with the majority of width and attacking verve from full-backs (2 & 3). Either can join the attacking line, often ending up in a 3-2-5. The three midfielders (4, 7 & 8) will look to overload and control the centre of the pitch with short, sharp passing and moving to ensure passing triangles are constantly available. Whether adopting positions as wingers or strikers, the wide players (10 & 11) will be working in concert with the main striker (9) at all times, in both attack and a high pressing game as a unit.

Weaknesses
The 4-3-3 offers great tactical flexibility, but relies on two things: instant decision making (particularly from the midfield) and the front three operating in unison. Exploiting any miscommunications from the front three to expose, isolate and play through them can key, and forcing the midfielders to make tough choices with passing by pressing them or overloading their options can make this game plan fall apart. Attacking the full backs can also work, but their ability to switch up which one attacks and which one defends at any particular time needs careful exploitation. With a foreign manager, it's clear that all bets are off in regard to Starblaydia this time around. ediraf have seized on that idea by, for the first time in history, debuting a purple home kit. The site of the 80th World Cup and 8th IFCF Champions League Finals, all of Starblaydia's home matches will take place in the 196,754-seater Stadii Di Bradini, close to the popular tourist destination of Downtown Jhanna, Starblaydia's capital city. Boasting extensive transport links, hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and entertainment, the Downtown area is the perfect place for a nearly quarter of a million fans to disperse into every evening after a match. It also has a direct route to JAX, Starblaydia's main internal airport and a major air travel hub of Atlantian Oceania.

The stadium is named after Starblaydia's most legendary former player, Jhanna-born striker Simeone Di Bradini: the former World Cup Committee President, World Cup Hall of Famer, and four-time World Cup Winner (all with The Holy Empire as player/manager), for whom the Di Bradini Cup, the world's premier Under-21 tournament, is also named. It is a gargantuan stadium notable for environmentally friendly 'eco-stadium' features built-in since before ground was first broken on the site. Designed and constructed using as many recyclable materials and installed with technology that reduce its carbon footprint and lowers its energy needs, the exterior features a huge array of photovoltaic solar panels on the roof. It was the centerpiece of the 'Green Starblaydia' project many years ago and remains one of the world's iconic stadiums.

Lijushkin was something of a young hotshot at Torpedo and SVV before disappearing from the public eye as a season marred with injury, internal strife, and terrible luck at SVV resulted in Virkaja’s relegation as the league got reduced from 20 to 18 teams. Following this time, he has worked as an assistant in the team of Rjurik Smolderhove at Lok Jarnstad, where he won an SFS title, and as general manager at AFK Savojagrad. Now returning to active coaching following the terrible record of Gylfi Haukason, Lijushkin is bringing new offensive wind to the squad, as well as a larger team and what many consider to be more professional structures.

Misarin is a sort of all-purpose assistant for Lijushkin, but most notably, she is a former defender to complement the former winger and offence specialist Lijushkin and will focus on giving some input to this team. As she has played before the professionalisation of women’s football, she has studied sports psychology alongside her career, and will also serve as an important element to ensure cohesion and morale within the team.
Roman Antonov was Lijushkin’s second in command and chief scout at AFK Savojagrad. While he will stay on at AFK as a consulting scout, his main role will be to assist Lijushkin in scouting and selection; during matches, he is expected to primarily work in the background and help preparing for opposition, as well as assist with video analysis (although this is already a strong area of Lijushkin himself).
Andersson was a long-term goalkeeper for Energie Thorsborg and got directly transferred into the club's youth department when he retired at age 33. Following some good work with the club's youth department, he got trained as a GK coach and worked with the first team and the U21 of Energie for a while before being brought onto the squad of the NT early on. He still works with Energie on the side and is reputed to be very good at developing a goalkeeper's weaknesses.
Mikael Södergren has a history of a technical assistant coach at various SFS A teams, including the surprising Rotor Värstjö side of SFS Season 8 and being on the staff of the double-winning Partisan side of SFS Season 10. His job is to run day to day practice and give technical advice to players; besides his work with the national team, he currently is a trainer at the National Football Academy at Högvald, where he coaches and develops Savojarna’s biggest youth talents.
Lasse Tjoer is the physical coach and condition trainer, and has previously worked for multiple SFS A teams. He places a lot of emphasis on discipline, but gives the players a large amount of freedom to tune their practice regime to their own tastes as long as they stick to the targets. He is quite popular in the team, and a good motivator.

Doctor: Dr. Christer Ljungberg
Age: 61
Christer is the head of the medical team of the Savojar NT and generally has a reputation of being the team’s good soul. Many players have come to him over the years to discuss their insecurities or physical problems, to the point that many consider Ljungberg to essentially be a second mental coach.

Let's not kid ourselves: Bittencourt is the better option allround, with his efforts for champions Aminey in the league and the IFCF, and the fact he's not in a steep late-career decline. The revival of the elderly continues at the back line: Mizuno, van Schelven, with backups Aelisire and Hellegeland, all of the hits of World Cup 87 (and before) are back. Despite everything, there's no way around Mizuno and Van Schelven: the former has the right mentality, the right physique, and everything else to succeed in this team. The latter is a model captain and a good counterbalance to the shithousing that happens on the wings. Mulvahil has quickly risen through the ranks to become the new centreback - maybe a little too aggressive for the position, but that's what the modern game wants us to do. Hoevink is the starter on a crowded left-centreback position, that also could have seen Lavaud or Archer (or even Betteridge), all of which play left-of-centre for their clubs. Van Kalvenhaar is just 25 but it still feels like she makes it back to a position after a long absence. In her early 20s she was the undisputed left fullback, and now she's finally back. There are a handful of options for the back line, but the above is a nice default starting option. Abyssite is somewhat ready to start, as is Gillinghurst.

From a RM-LM-AM configuration we seem to have made it back to a DM-CM-AM situation as we did way back when Yokota still was the DM there. Dhentingun has developed far too quickly to be ignored. Janoreirinthen can take up a free role distributing perfect passes everywhere, while yCinrhadd finally earns his first cap, now as a starter at Quebecois Leaside Lions - yCinrhadd famously being a player that refuses to play two years for a single club, having played in Taeshan, Squidroidia, Brenecia, and Zwangzug so far. The journeyman can count on the experience and playing style of 5-6 countries at just 25 years of age, a huge advantage for us. Longchambon is back as the attacking midfielder, losing some pace but making up for that with better passing than ever and vision to make everyone jealous. Even with a 4-man midfield, Batchelor misses out for now. If we need a goal, expect him to be put in instead of Dhentingun to make a slightly more attacking - and more importantly, wide - midfield with a RM, CM, LM, and AM.

We've got more options for this single position than ever, and for now we're going back to Aomelirea - and Erisia didn't make the cut at all. Backup for Aomelirea (who, yes, is marked as being a great man marker) is Archer, who's had two massive seasons for Aminey, winning the title, and drawing the ire of every defender he's played against. Bonstirthinden is more of a 5-5-0 option, with a good shot from distance but otherwise someone who'll give Longchambon et al better chances at scoring. Deckere and Oise are long shots - selected for age and to gain experience in an environment with international stars, but not expected to get minutes on the pitch.

We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more.

This team is all about containing their opponent, letting them make mistakes, and capitalising on those. Let the other guys get impatient, lose the ball, and immediately go for the counter attack. Yes, it's frustrating to play against, but you have to admit that there's a certain beauty to doing this near-flawlessly every single time. The Dragonflies aren't a very physical team, but can match almost every opponent in stamina (not so much power or speed, though. Typically only the wingers are pacy). Instead, they rely on tactics and patience. The team is also good enough to be in possession a lot and dictate the tempo, though they're not always creative enough to break down the opposing defence - for that, the Dragonflies have learned to be very, very good on counterattacks, set pieces, and a few patterns in open play. Given the experience most of these players have, it's hard to come up with something new they've never seen - and then do that well enough to reliably score. In order to beat us, you'll need to bring two (or more) of the following: power, speed, caution.

Basically, this team comes prepared, is patient, and keeps a cool head.

Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the 23-man squad for some qualifiers. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

The standard for this team. Five defenders, a defensive midfielder-slash-pivot, two wingers, an attacking midfielder-annex-second striker, and a pure finisher up front. In possession, one of the defenders can push up: this might be one of the fullbacks to provide width, but can also be one of the centrebacks, in which case the defensive midfielder makes way. The wingers will be wider or narrower based on the opposition, and the same determines how far the fullbacks will advance. In defence, the team becomes narrower, with the defensive midfielder playing spoiler to whoever is trying to find space between the Ko-orenite lines, and the wingers falling back to meet opposing fullbacks. The striker and attacking midfielder will almost always look for space to launch a counterattack.

Overview

The Phoenixes return for their sixth World Cup of the modern era. It's been rough and inconsistent going, with organizational chaos and talents emerged and fizzled out, but the program is bolstered by a steadier development program and an undefeated second half of the World Cup 90 qualifying campaign. Overshadowed by the quality of the nation's gridiron, basketball, and hockey teams, the soccer Phoenixes have quietly worked themselves into international competition. The goals are not unrealistic here - simply keep playing with the accumulated patience, experience, and trademark style, and perhaps work closer to that dotted line.

Tactically, the Phoenixes are heavily offensive-minded, utilising a 3-5-2 and relying on individual skill in the middle and up front. Goalkeepers and defenders are perfectly capable, but they're going to have to be ready to make plays and bail out failed attacks. There is a bias towards action and chance instead of possession, and an inclination towards taking defensive risks to generate counterattack opportunities, although these tendencies have been somewhat reined in by new manager Boris Ishutin. Additionally, it is expected that the midfielders will be fully active on both ends of the field, employing manpower to have advantages in both the offensive and defense zones rather than relying on positioning. Ishutin will frequently make substitutions at midfield, even as early as the start of the second half, to give both the starters and substitutes an opportunity to work at a higher rate for a shorter period of time.

He has excelled as a top goalkeeper in both Delaclava, with Catherina FC, and in the Squornshelan Remnant States. He starts in front of two young rising talents and is more motivated than ever to hold on to that spot.

#14 GK Finian Cloarec - 21, 5-8, 140 - Kionao Locals (TUR): The future of Delaclav goalkeepers. Incredibly fast and explosive, with the ability to withstand pressure usually put on him by his own defense. He's gone to the RTC World Cup, he's gone to AOCAF, and it's only a matter of time before he's ready to lead the senior Phoenixes. If only that growth spurt kicks in soon...

#21 GK Pádraig McElroy - 19, 5-8, 145 - Honeybadgers (EUR): A less heralded goalkeeping prospect who still figures to be in the national team picture on his current trajectory. A well-rounded player with both athletic gifts and tactical intelligence, although he can sometimes be a bit too passive.

DEFENDERS

#2 RB Josh Torres - 32, 5-8, 150 - Catherina FC: Small and scrappy, Torres locks down the sideline from the opposing field, and he'll get physical to do it. Torres was a national team OG who fell out of favor but successfully reinvented himself in three seasons with Catherina FC - getting named to the Next XI in all three years, leading Catherina FC back to IFCF competition and to a United Cup final, and completely rejuvenating a team that had hemorrhaged its best talent to overseas teams. Torres is one of the rare players who's managed to find his way to a second prime, and he intends to make the most of the opportunity.

#3 CB Marc Champagne - 20, 5-8, 140 - Cavalry: The biggest surprise of this group of 23, Champagne's placement in the starting lineup signals a new preference for more deliberate, containing defensive play, and the 20-year-old offers a rare amount of discipline for his age. Can frustrate teams into making a mistake as they possess the ball forever, unable to find an opening.

#4 LB Minotauro Meñica - 25, 5-6, 130 - Loxthorpe Rovers FC (FVA): Lightning quick and strong despite his small stature, Meñica follows the traditional Delaclav style of a highly aggressive outside back, and has benefited as the planned left back of the future NT. He has continued to excel in Flavovespia and, already with a wealth of national team experience at a young age, figured to be a fixture of this team for a long time.

#13 CB Rahmonberdi Zhusupov - 25, 5-11, 145 - Ming (CMT): A particularly aggressive center back who isn't afraid to push forward and meet the ball to take changes. He can often get away with it with his speed, but needs to develop more discipline. His importance on an offensively-minded squad in Ming will serve him well on a similarly aggressive Delaclava team. Zhusupov takes a backseat to start this campaign but is counted on to be a supportive leader and a capable substitute.

#18 LB Durgali Baxayev - 22, 5-9, 145 - Myana (CMT): Tough and gritty expecially for his size, Baxayev strikes a good balance between attacking on the wings and hanging back, although his judgment needs a bit of work. He is primed to fight for the starting lead back position on the national team for the next decade, and figures to finally gives some defensive backbone to an overly aggressive NT.

#22 RB Arnau Mata - 30, 5-10, 150 - Marque (BRE): Mata has a naturally aggressive style and plenty of pure speed. A veteran leader with a wealth of experience abroad and on this team.

MIDFIELDERS

#5 LM Emil Mišalko - 22, 5-7, 140 - Casuals Osteria (KRY): The speedy and aggressive Mišalko was the difference maker in coming over to AC Espene and finally getting them to a league title. He attacks easily down the side and possesses well in an offensive set to draw defenders away and set up chances. Can generate his own scoring chances but prefers to wait and find the most open opportunity. Not a particularly effective defender.

#5 RDM Kazuo Martin - 26, 5-11, 170 - Brinemouth (NPH): A quick and patient player, Martin initially was left off the squad as Ishutin was looking for a new direction with the team, but after a historic season with Brinemouth, winning a league title and the Emerald Ball, the DFA not-so-gently nudged Ishutin to get him with the team. He'll be in fine form and the team will be happy to see him back.

#6 LDM Ben Romeijn - 27, 6-2, 180 - Blackfields (EUR): Blackfields (EUR)[/b]: A big, speedy and powerful athlete and a bona fide star who got his start as a teenager leading an old AC Espene squad to a respectable table finish. Blackfields took a chance on him and Romeijn has delivered in spades, helping the team into the Gold League and continuing as a reliable goalscorer and playmaker.

#7 LM Martin Bartoš - 24, 5-9, 160 - Dhun Lagarr FC (TKT): A lightning quick and versatile midfielder with a nose for the goal, who has left Steckholl United to join in one of the fastest-growing leagues in the world. Despite his youth, Bartoš has a wealth of experience in captaining the Verceola national team. That territorial squad has been canned for the time being, so the Phoenixes will get the benefit of this prospect, who at one point was by consensus the very best midfielder among an embarrassment of riches for Delaclava at the position. Now, he sits elsewhere in the revolving door, but has worked out some discipline issues in Tikariot and hopes to play a major role.

#9 RM Varlam Kovalev - 27, 5-10, 160 - Chatswood (NPH): A versatile midfielder who has matured impressively in the past few years, and who is both skilled and confident enough to make an offensive impact individually, and physical and hard-working enough to put in the slog on defense to protect a lead. His journey from late bloomer to national team starter has been a sight to behold.

#10 CAM Kent Lindblad - 24, 5-8, 140 - Farrenton Athletic (EUR): The two-time defending UFL MVP and now UFL league champion, Lindblad is the shiny new toy for the Delaclav FA. Steady and cool-headed as they come, Lindblad is perhaps blessed with more tactical than physical gifts, but possesses field vision beyond his years. For a Delaclav, he is uncharacteristically sensible as a containing defender, and offensively works best in support at the back of a formation and as an effective distributor across the field. He can therefore find and generate attacks through the wing players. After winning a UFL Golden Boot and Golden Ball, he joined up with Lukas Meyer at Farrenton Athletic and figures to be a key piece in that team's future.

#12 LM Sargis Nazaryan - 28, 5-11, 170 - Kionao Locals (TUR): A fast, dynamic, and even unpredictable player, Nazaryan has successfully reined in his wilder tendencies and put the pieces together in one of the best systems in the region. He figures to be a sparkplug substitute who can turn the game on its head upon entering the game.

#15 RDM Sanson Eisen - 23, 5-8, 130 - Sanford Der Berg PREMIER FK (ZRH): Eisen benefited early in his career with the responsibility of keeping an under-talented team afloat, and earned his DPOY award while with First City, before joining Ossiana FC and leading them to a seventh-place finish. He is strongest through the middle of the field, both on the offensive and defensive ends, and rounds out a wing-heavy attack in Delaclav football.

#17 RM Steffan Mikines - 25, 6-2, 165 - AC Espene: Mikines has bounced around the midfield in the national team program, but as part of the AC Espene youth invasion that are now defending UFL champions, Mikines has shown that he has a winning mentality regardless of where he's plugged in. The Golden Ball winner plays with a chip on his shoulder that no teams abroad expressed any interest in him.

#19 CAM Drystan Tudor - 23, 6-1, 160 - CF Outineau (KSK): Tall, strong, rangy, fast, with smooth ball skills, distribution, and scoring ability - Tudor is perhaps the most complete player of all of Delaclava's young talent. He's confident, embraces leadership opportunities and new challenges. If anything, perhaps a bit too confident and is prone to clash with other strong personalities, but coachable under the right guidance.

#20 LDM Bulat Umarov - 20, 5-8, 150 - Cleopatrana SC: A young and tenacious holding midfielder who can carried on the tradition of defensive toughness at Cleopatrana SC and has steadily worked his way through playing all the other major competitions - RTC, Di Bradini, AOCAF. He benefits particularly here from the mentorship of Romeijn and the hope is that he will grow a lot throughout this campaign.

FORWARDS

#8 ST Mathias Gretler - 21, 5-9, 145 - Metro Tirana: He can play in many different styles and roles, but truly there isn't a better pure goalscorer out there. He's been relatively quiet following a record-setting campaign in his one RTC, but he will pair well with the veteran Meyer.

#11 SS Lukas Meyer - 27, 6-2, 175 - Farrenton Athletic (EUR): The best natural goalscorer of the squad, Meyer does not have the speed or size to capitalize on many breakaway chances, but in offensive sets and possessions, there is no one more reliable or adept in the 18-yard box. Meyer has a knack for finding the right shot or leading pass within that range, and seems likely to have the best chance at cracking the world's stiffest defenses. He continues to improve and earned league honors for the first time in the Gold League; all indicators say his best is yet to come.

#16 FW Joey Muldowney - 19, 5-5, 135 - Manchester Wolves: Young, short, and brash but with speed and wild creativity. Muldowney is versatile ennough to play either wing or center forward but is likely more suitable as a wing due to his stature.

#23 FW Damian Soto - 26, 6-4, 190 - Catherina FC: Almost freakishly quick for his height, Soto spent his early career shining on a squad that is more known for its defensive capabilities. He was named to the Best XI for two straight years - once with Tigers, once with Cleopatrana SC. Moving on to Catherina FC, Soto picked up a Golden Boot in a tight title chase. He may not play in a top-level league like Eura or Krytenia, but Soto knows how to score and seems bound to do so when he gets his opportunity.

Notes:

As stated above, Ishutin will frequently expect midfielders to work their hardest for 45 minutes, then be substituted for someone else. Romeijn and Lindblad are more likely to go for the full 90 minutes, and Ishutin will always hold on to one or two substitutions if another replacement is needed elsewhere.
Meñica will take corner kicks - a rather aggressive posture for the team. Lindblad will be the one to take free kicks if there is a direct scoring opportunity; Meñica for longer range and placement or if looking for a volley/header in the box.

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around, they will not however engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

The IAC was a mess.

Sure, it wasn't exactly a disaster. A 3-1-1 record can't really be called bad, but that Ro16 exit to Trolleborg left a lot to be desired. Now, chances are viewed to be running a bit thin. The Aleiravan connections made in the previous WCC tournament cycle and the IAC, both through islander players and coaches, are gone, as Haulafo Paka'ula decided to attempt to (and succeed at!) winning the Baptism of Fire with his own all-Aleiravan team. What remains is a rapidly aging squad that looks almost exactly like the BoF champions of old, a coach who, as much as he loves his team, is coming under fire for Eshialand's perceived failures, and millions of fans yearning for this to be the Owls' year.

CORDIAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

THE NORTH STARS

ALL-TIME RECORD: 14-9-19

The North Stars are coming off a strong AOCAF that, while they failed to advance, saw them draw with one of the world's best teams in Banija, though admittedly the 5th-ranked side wasn't playing anywhere near their best. Subsequent matches saw the North Stars drop a closely contested match 1-0 to Gyatso-Kai before defeating Delaclava 2-1. Coming off the momentum of that performance, the Cordians will be looking to deliver some stunners in their second cycle of World Cup qualifiers.

The team is managed by Diandra Ballard of Nephara, a World Cup-winning keeper for the Nepharan national team and manager of Leichhardt, which she brought from the First Division to the Zenith, but was then fired when the team went back down. Spying a manager with international experience, the Cordian NT hired her. She hasn’t brought immediate success to the program, but she’s kept things from being too painful so far. That’s not enough for her, though, nor is it enough for anyone else.

After a long spell under foreign management the Football Federation have turned to a domestic option for the next of their never-ending new dawns. Echeverría was a left sided wing wizard in his player days and considered one of the more technically gifted players to don the darker blue. He was previously part of the national team coaching set-up before trying his hand at management, most notably at Sporting San Marquez and then Sportivo Soluca. Turning the club from the capital into perennial title challenges domestically, albeit without actually lifting the SuperLiga trophy, and has gained a reputation for a sardonic line in press conferences. Showing utter disdain for any question he considers to be stupid. Which appears to be all of them.

The new coach uses the traditional Sargossan 5-3-2 formation as the foundation for his tactical schemes. Wing backs play a crucial role in those schemes, and in Figueroa and Barrueco Echeverría now has access to two players he’d previously been plotting how to stop. Cáceres and Sanz are two excellent young centrebacks but the international retirements of Juan Esnáider and Víctor Miralles had left the centre a little short of experience. Iván Franco, club captain for Echeverría at Sportivo, and club teammate Andrés Obregón add quality but are uncapped at international level. The talented Máximo Moya is expected to inherit the captain’s armband from Esnáider.

The return to a midfield three won’t please the wingers but should certainly benefit Martín de la Cavallería, who could be handed the chance to occupy the number ten role he performs to such impressive effect domestically. Although Agustín Soria, who occupied the same role in Echeverría’s Sportivo Soluca side will have some say on the matter. Behind him the coach likes to have a box-to-box player sat alongside someone who pulls the strings from deep. One of González, Varela or Águila would be suited for the deeper role but perhaps now lack the lung capacity to burst up the pitch for ninety minutes. One of Echeverría’s last acts as Sportivo Soluca boss was to sanction the signing of Facundo Franco from Estrella Torreón, he may prove to be the missing piece in that puzzle.

Coach’s come and go but Mateo Manzanares will still lead the line for the national side. Saavedra and Montenegro are both slight, tricky forwards. Not unlike Manzanares himself. But with the coach liking to have a big man up front their chances of a starting berth seem pretty slim. And with the old warhorse Mauricio Sainz now comfortably the wrong side of thirty a new focal point of the attack will probably be sought. Eliseo Fonseca performs that very role with distinction for Sportivo and would appear to be the ideal candidate. Capping a remarkable rise for a player who four years ago was plying his trade in the third tier.

Style

After the tactical innovations of Tikariotian Brian McAllister, and his 4-3-3 to 5-2-3 via a 4-5-1(ish), the tactics are now in the hands of a man who very much favours the traditional Sargossan 5-3-2. And it’s not just the formation that will differ from the previous regime. It’s often said a coach’s formation is reflective of that coach’s playing days. That is not the case with Alejandro Echeverría. On the pitch Echeverría was a supremely talented winger (a position he very rarely deploys) and was one of the more technically accomplished players to pull on the darker blue of Sargossa. His gifts would have made him very suitable for the short passing patterns of player favoured by his predecessor. But Echeverría the coach has no time for those short passing patterns. His sides have a reputation for direct football. On the ground or in the air, it doesn’t really matter provided it goes forward.

Another mark of an Echeverría side is its proficency at set pieces. In each of the last two SuperLiga seasons no team has managed more goals from freekicks and corners than Sportivo Soluca. Matías Sáez is the coach credited with masterminded their set piece routines and he has joined his boss as part of the national team set-up.

The SuperLiga is quite a physical league so challenges can often be described as 'uncompromising' and cards are pretty common. Gamesmanship, while not encouraged, is not entirely uncommon. But diving is considered particularly stigmatic so Sargossan players are unlikely to be found doing it.

Designed by Nethertopian architect Gert Naamloos and part financed by two SuperLiga clubs, the Sargossan government and Starblaydi sportswear giants ediraf it is a truly magnificent sporting arena. The Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, as the ediraf Arena was rechristened when the naming rights deal expired, is the epitome of a modern football stadium. Consequently, it is the national side’s most commonly used venue. Unfortunately, the glamourous surroundings are marred somewhat by the Soluca crowds’ reputation for being both fickle and moody.

The very antithesis to the modern Estadio Generalissimo Joaquín Delgado, and revelling in that fact. The internal facilities may have been kept relatively up to date at the Independienté but little has changed at the vast open bowl since its construction. The nation’s largest sporting venue and one that prides itself on the genuine carnival atmosphere produced on matchdays.

Although the name has come to refer to the stadium alone the Ciudad Deportiva is actually a whole site devoted to sporting excellence. Constructed as part of a government drive to boast sport, the site is also home to the national Track and Field Centre of Excellence, an aquatic centre, basketball and volleyball facilities and a state-of-the-art sport science clinic. The stadium itself is an impressive venue that is regularly voted as the top matchday experience by fans in the SuperLiga. The Sargossan record there too is very strong, having dropped points only three times in matches played in Maturín over the years.

Like the Independienté the Estadio Silva is one of the older venues used by the national side. Some famous nations have taken to the Estadio Silva turf in the past, names such as Sorthern Northland, Candelaria And Marquez and Cassadaigua.

The quintessential rich man’s play thing, Alianza Jucaro are the nearly men of Sargossan domestic football. Bankrolled by the mega-wealthy Bonilla family the club have won three national cup competitions in recent years but have never claimed the league title they so crave. While the Bonillas have thrown money at the playing staff they’ve also invested heavily in infrastructure, including the stadium that bears their name. Set in the South Quays district of the port city, right on the waters of the Bay of Carrasco, it’s an imposing venue for visiting sides.

In a city so synonymous with Petro National, the Sargossan national oil and gas company, it’s no surprise to find both the local football team and the stadium in which they play blazoned with the Petro name. Dropped from hosting duties to accommodate the Petro Dome in nearby Mercada, but reinstated following a vocal public outcry.

The island nation of Aleirave is a rather small one, with a population of barely 50 thousand, somewhere in Anaia. Where in Anaia is somewhat up to interpretation, but it's there, we know that.

The nation of Aleirave was originally founded by Fyodor Tereyev, who was a puteshestvennik (or "traveller") from Klysevia, about 350 years ago. His descendants ruled the island up until the year 2023, when Alexandr Tereyev was shot and killed by a lone gunman in a peaceful protest. Since then, the island has been ruled as an Special Administrative Unit of Eshialand, effectively acting as its own democratic nation within a nation.

After getting 4th in the third edition of the CAFA Cup, Haulafo Paka'ula decided to do something that just about nobody would ever expect. Instead of letting a couple of his players play with the Eshian squad as they did in WCQ XC, he entered them into World Cup Qualifying as a team of their own. Who knows, they may have even had a chance to snag their own Baptism of Fire trophy, just as the Eshian team did three years before... and that's exactly what they did. Now, the Seagulls enter their first World Cup Qualifying cycle with dreams far beyond what they've achieved... but with the threat of their own island's demise on the horizon, this could very well be their last cycle as well.

His grand scheme when he decided to craft this team was to show that natives could be just as good at football as the Klysevians, and that the two could work together in an international competition. President Tereyev flatly denied Haulafo's request to start the team, so he did what any normal person would do and assembled the team anyway.

HISTORY

Chromatika first entered the World Cup in Cycle 73, going a modest 3-2-7. They made the Cup of Harmony in Cycle 74, and qualified for the first time in Cycle 75, losing in the Round of Sixteen. Chromatika would have their most successful campaign in World Cup 76, making it to the 3rd place Playoff before finishing in fourth place, despite the domestic upheaval in the country. Their first Manager, Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, was martyred at the end of World Cup 75; the political stresses of the job made it so that Lisa Amos, the team's Manager after Franscesca, resigned after World Cup 76.

The team would enjoy continued success from World Cup 77 through World Cup 81, as Silian Parker helped the squad qualify for the World Cup every time, and the team even made it to the Round of Sixteen or beyond three of those times. Even when Chromatika didn't enter World Cup 82, their return to the World Cup in 83 was a success, though both World Cup 83 and 84 saw the Anomalies stymied at the Proper Group Stage - 84 being under new management in Nepharan Konrad Evans.

World Cup 85 was a disaster - the team didn't qualify and didn't even make a deep run in the Cup of Harmony, leading to the sacking of Evans and the appointment of Richard Valens of Krytenia and Tim Landers of Delaclava. The team would qualify in World Cup 86, and 87, host the World Cup in 88, and return to the Proper in 89. However, Chromatika was not making the deep runs that the nation wanted/needed, so they said goodbye to Valens and Landers and looked inward.

Sandra Sybill and Rachel Hellion, key figures during Chromatika's runs in the early days, stepped in. A loss to Nyowani Kitara meant that they were eliminated, but the team turned around and won the 82nd Cup of Harmony.

Now, the bar is a bit lower. Though they were brought in to dream of bigger and better things, just qualifying would be enough this cycle.

Sandra Sybill | Age: 44 | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Player Caps: 112 Player Goals: 16 | Debut Cycle: 90
Active from WC 74 to WC 81, Sandra Sybill had the finesse and the speed to be a part of the Anomalies to a tune of 112 caps and 16 goals while also being part of a Real Azuris squad in Cosumar that absolutely terrorized the international stage. Sybill's calling card was quickness and quality shooting with the cleverness that came with experience. Then, she stayed with Real Azuris to be a part of their coaching staff as a midfielder coach. After the dissolution of the Harlighet Ligen, many wondered what Sybill would do next. After running camps for multiple teams on many a offseason, Sybill got her certification and then made herself available for any jobs to follow. This is a huge step for her - the fact that her very first managing role is of the Anomalies - but she knows the pressure, she knows the field, and most of all, she knows what it's like to be part of the Anomalies. The winning of the Cup of Harmony showed that the Chromatik Football Federation was right in hiring her, and she will have another chance to prove that she can lead this squad to the World Cup Proper. The relationships she's built will be tested here.

Rachel Hellion | Age: 43 | Height: 6 ft 6 in | Player Caps: 162 Player Goals: 24 | Debut Cycle: 90
Part of the WC squad from WC 73 through WC 81, Rachel Hellion was the set piece artist of the squad, taking almost every corner kick and free kick while being a part of the Anomalies to a tune of 162 caps and 24 goals. (The 162 caps is third all-time behind Keira Andisori and Luuk Aart). At the club level, she was part of a Lammerton squad that was once the club of the Schottic Premier League. After her playing career, Hellion tried her hand at being a physical therapist before getting her certification. She was being actively scouted by several Red League teams (Chromatik, Anomalies, Myana, to name a few) before Sandra Sybill asked her to come along for this massive undertaking. She had a lot to do after the team didn't qualify last time, but was instrumental in getting the team ready for the run through the Cup of Harmony.

Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar and now White Mountain club manager Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for eleven cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries after the bus sabotage last cycle. She remains a great asset.

THE PLAYERS

For the longest time, Chromatika fielded fifty player pools for the Qualifiers. Now, they've shrunk to forty - because, as Sybill puts it, "You can't start fourth string players when you're trying to qualify."

GOALKEEPERS

GK Juxon FILLAR | Age: 27 | Team:

Cazadores Cathair | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 60 Goals Allowed: 63 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Juxon Fillar is the unquestioned #1 on the team after the last few World Cups; the fact that he is only twenty-seven is a boon to the Chromatik team in general. Very good at set pieces and one-on-one scenarios, he's become better in transition and also become a leader in the locker room, being named the Captain after Engima Armageddon's outburst. As the oldest of all four Fillars on the roster, he's the unquestionable leader out of this position and will be for many World Cups to come. In Sandra Sybill's system, he will need to hold down the fort without much help from time to time; thankfully, the experience he's gained as a part of a Champions' League winner in Cazadores Cathair will be of great help. During the Cup of Harmony, Fillar was tested time and time again, but provided just enough presence in front of the net to help the team get the trophy.

GK Kathie BEGLEY | Age: 28 | Team:

Kathie Begley is the best keeper of the Chromatik Red League in recent history, and a master at reading the flow of the game. She's been told that she should look at going abroad, but her love of Chromatik football in the Red League has kept her around. She has stated that this is a huge honor to continue to be included in this squad - and now she is the second best keeper on this roster, having recently won the IFCC with Wirr Tsi. To see someone play as important of a position as keeper who started and continued their career in Chromatika is absolutely inspiring, and her presence here is a testament to just how far the Red League itself has come.

GK LORÉE BAUTISTA | Age: 23 | Team:

Sabrefell Moths | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 1 Goals Allowed: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 90
With a level head, great leaping skills, and a calm demeanor, Bautista has become the best keeper to ever play in the CCFA, especially in the postseason. In three title runs, Bautista only conceded one goal - and won two Player of the Year awards. His ceiling is extremely high, and he has the motivation and ambition to boot that could make him be one of the best to put on the gloves for Chromatika. He's challenging Van Enax to be the heir apparent to the Chromatik starting job - though Juxon is only 27 and has a lot of career left in him. That battle will be something to watch in the years to come. In a challengning season with Crisisbless United, he did enough to be recognized by a team the caliber of the Sabrefell Moths, and will be playing keeper for Zuniga's squad in The Zenith.

GK Van ENAX | Age: 23 | Team:

One of the few who have taken the extreme route of heading out of Chromatika straight out of high school, Enax has been a prodigy of sorts when it comes to instinctive goalkeeping and having a finger on the flow of things. If there is someone who can be counted to supplant Juxon Fillar, Van Enax might be it, especially after leading the Men's Team to the Gold Medal Match and the U-21 squad to the Quarterfinals. Now, he's got competition in Lorée Bautista - and the competition between the two of them in the years to come will be something to watch, indeed. A bit spirited, Enax can be the life of the party. The EuraLegue is a tough place to grow, but Enax is making the most of it.

RIGHT BACKS

RB Grayson FILLAR | Age: 22 | Team:

The long-term answer at Right Back for Chromatika has arrived. Second oldest by age but third in order of appearance to the national spotlight amongst the Fillar household, Grayson Fillar is a bullheaded, stubborn, physical right back will will outright impose his will on his opponents. Overshadowed by his younger sister, the electric Baillaire, Grayson was the one who actually chose to finish high school in Chromatika before making the move to 1830 Cathair. Though he says that he's proud of his sister (and he probably is), there is a deeply competitive streak in him that demands that he also make a name for himself atop Chromatika's slew of Fillars. On the pitch, he knows how to use his size to its utmost advantage, almost appearing larger than he is at times. He also understands the importance of momentum and tone, leading to his not being shy to commit a foul if one is needed. He still has a lot to learn, but has a bright future ahead of him, and possesses the most important thing: youth. Chromatika took a risk in having him start during the Cup of Harmony, and he delivered, providing presence, physicality, and endurance in the deep run to win the title.

RB Victoire DE SAINT-PIERRE | Age: 30 | Team:

Royal Rumiatzi | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Caps: 31 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 86
An energizer bunny who is a bright spark both on and off the pitch, Victoire De Saint-Pierre is often times the life of the Chromatik locker room. She isn't a fan of attention, but has come to understand the cost of playing well. Now, she's being asked to do one more thing - help Grayson Fillar become the next real thing at Right Back by supplementing his kit with tenacity, patience, and most importantly, perseverance. Now with Kai Xiao off the team, Victoire's position as the seasoned veteran on the lineup as the one who can have the most impact in the younger players' lives has become more and more apparent. Don't worry - if she neds to play, she can still be that solid, veteran presence to anchor the defense.

RB Raul VITAN | Age: 27 | Team:

A self-made man, Raul Vitan is a Red League project whose physicality, poise, and vision on the pitch is extraordinary. A starter for six years in the Red League (four with Chromatik), Vitan was on the outskirts of the list for many a cycle, and it was Chromatik's win of the title in Season Eight that landed him a spot on the roster. Sybill and Hellion value pace and physicality to go along with motion, and Vitan possesses all of that. It's a testament to both Sybill and Hellion that they have the clout to add a player like Vitan, someone who's not actually been proven. With thirteen caps - mostly off the bench - in the last cycle, Vitan's been getting slowly incorporated into the team.

CENTER BACKS

CB Henri DE AEA | Age: 31 | Team:

Henri de Aea has eclipsed a hundred caps, and shows no signs of slowing down. Remaining at large as an aerial defender and a sure tackler, there are even brighter days ahead for the central defender, who is only in the prime of his career. Now in one of Eura's big clubs in Spartangrad, de Aea's career is one that shows just what can happen if someone takes risks. In his twelfth World Cup as a member of the Anomalies, his legend as one of the best players to ever wear the checkered black and white continues to grow every time he steps onto the pitch. On this team, he's the defensive backbone who communicates with the defensive midfield to set up the Chromatik wall in front of Juxon Fillar. A master communicator and a decent tactician, de Aea is a irreplaceable piece of the squad. As Chromatika becomes more offensive, he will have to do the lion's share of the defending - and he's rearing to go. The Cup of Harmony victory showed just how good de Aea was as a leader of the team, as he was one of the ones responsible for keeping the team together.

CB Keira ANBIENT | Age: 28 | Team:

Keira Anbient, no relation to Keira Andisori, is described as a pure willpower player first and foremost. She is neither the biggest player on the pitch, the fastest, nor the quickest to the ball; instead, she is just always around where the action is. Having joined Kitara Athletic Association and garnering valuable experience there, Anbient has only become better and better as she gets more used to different situations. Experience will be her best teacher, and as she continues to gain the opportunities in front of her, she'll only get better. She's now in the starting pair with de Aea, and though she does have some room left to go, her patience and hard work is starting to pay off - as evidenced by how well she played in the Cup of Harmony final against Mercedini.

CB Klavida RÉGINE | Age: 24 | Team:

St. Thomas | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Caps: 11 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Though short, Klavida makes up for it with having the busiest feet. Almost like a hound dog at times with how doggedly she pursues anyone that dare cross her, she has been noted to be annoying by her opponents time and time again. With Licentian perennial powerhouses St. Thomas, Régine's emergence as a possible callup has been a phenomenal story to behold. Her feet absolutely never stop moving during the game, and that endless pace results in many a tired opponent. It's time Régine got some time going against the world. She was the bench player for the Cup of Harmony squad, and the success there has given her the nod as one of the second pair.

CB Moira ANSOV| Age: 27 | Team:

Myana | Height: 6 ft 8 in | Caps: 7 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 2
Ansov started her career at Brisara FC, then moved to Hanai Breakers - which was the best move of her life. Part of Masterson's defensive scheme, Ansov perfected her skills before jumping ship to join the Myana Islanders. Now, she's one of the last lines of defense ahead of Katerina Olexander, one of the better keepers in the Red League. Ansov is a classic man-to-man defender with some physicality and poise, but her calling card is that of consistency and constant aggression. If she makes it far within the Anomalies, it would be one of the craziest stories to ever come out of the nation - someone who wasn't even on the radar when she graduated from the CCFA. Her play with Régine during the Cup of Harmony run has given her the accolade of being one of the secondary pair.

CB Damon INGRAM | Age: 28 | Team:

Dhun Lagarr FC | Height: 6 ft 5 in | Caps: 28 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Damon Ingram's specialty is clearing headers. He knows how to mark, jump, and direct the ball away from goal. He's also as good at scoring, but hasn't had too many opportunities on the international stage. He can be a bit clumsy at times - leading to players going by him - but he makes up for it with length and with his play in set pieces. The way that he plays each ball to the conclusion - taking care of all deflections and the like - has earned him a spot on this roster. The second line is probably the best that he will be able to do, though, unless he goes through a resurgence in other areas of his game. He's hit his ceiling, and Sybill & Hellion have decided that he deserves a spot on the roster. Put him in the box whenever the opposition has a corner and let the man work. He fell to the third line not because of anything he's done but because of how well the Cup of Harmony squad did; he still absolutely deserves a spot on this roster.

CB Giles KEN | Age: 32 | Team:

Montreal Koreana | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 61 Goals Scored: 1 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 84
Solid in the air, great intangibles, and paramount poise define Giles Ken's play for the Anomalies. Legend has it that his parents wrote his name backwards on his birth certificate, leading to him having a different last name than his parents. Whether this is an urban legend or not is still up for debate. Ken is also known for sticking to the Quebecois scene despite how the league is viewed internationally. Someone who has to do things his way no matter the cost, that kind of stubbornness even shows up on the pitch. Having given way to Ingram and Anbient, Ken's flexibility and willingness to work with almost anyone makes him a solid part of any roster - he likely will be around until his mid thirties due to his locker room presence.

CB Gwina ANSOLL | Age: 26 | Team:

Montfort Wanderers | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 3 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 90
Out of the CCFA, Ansoll was just an aerial defender; in four years abroad at The Licential Isles, Ansoll has become more than just that. Growing more and more into a complete defender with speed and physicality, Ansoll is the latest in the set of self-made defenders that have made it on the Anomalies' roster. The best part? She's only twenty-six, meaning who knows how much more she can learn in a couple more seasons? She showed enough promise in the last cycle to be named as one of the alternatives that could start against the lower ranked teams in the group.

CB Cylie NODIS | Age: 22 | Team:

Montreal Koreana | Height: 6 ft 4 in | Caps: 13 Goals Scored: 1 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Once on the U-18 squad, a Meerkat, and now on Montreal Koreana with Giles Ken, Cylie Nodis's claim to fame is being perhaps the most offensive center back in Chromatik history. With a nose for the ball on every set piece, some deep crosses and the ability to thread the needle using either foot, it's been stated that she should change to a Defensive Midfielder at times. She's set in her ways, though, and insists she should play at fullback. (Un)fortunately, she's proficient enough that nobody can really force her to do anything otherwise. She is the best type of player to play the position for Sybill and Hellion, though her game still leaves a lot to be desired - time is on her side.

LEFT BACKS

LB Ha'nei IGHV | Age: 26 | Team:

Avenida Leal | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 28 Goals Scored: 3 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Ha'nei Ighv is really a midfielder moonlighting at left back with her shooting skills, but insists at playing so far back just to make things challenging. A bit of an insufferable know-it all with a good heart, she likes to create a high-pressing defensive line with the help of the central midfield. She's quite good at scoring a handful of goals every year, and can surprise everyone by the creativity in her play. Now, she's with Avenida Leal, in a league that will allow her to play so offensively. Ighv is the perfect player for Sybill & Hellion's system - and she will have many a chance to score. Having scored three goals in twenty-eight caps and earned the starting job during the Cup of Harmony run, Ighv isn't going to step away from the position anytime soon as she becomes even better acquainted with the new Chromatik system.

LB Ipati AIMÉE | Age: 24 | Team:

St. Thomas | Height: 6 ft 4 in | Caps: 8 Goals Scored: 1 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Ipati is more of a traditional type defender who's quite good at clearing away headers, playing man-to-man, you name it. She went unnoticed for so long before a local writer wrote a piece on her playing style about how she didn't lack much but also wasn't quite good at anything. She filled in for a season at Wirr Tsi, helping the Shock almost complete the three-peat, before being wooed by St. Thomas to play alongside Klavida Régine. Aimée is starting to prove that her CCFA career wasn't a good representation of her potential. She was the backup to Ighv during Chromatika's Cup of Harmony championship, and the two showed how dynamic their tandem can be - Ighv to loosen up the opposition, and Aimée to make sure that late leads get held onto.

LB Ruthanne GUESS | Age: 28 | Team:

Falourr | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: Uncapped Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: 91
Guess is more of a forward pressing back who isn't afraid of taking shots. She does have good pace to gallop back and forth, but can be a bit out of place at times. Her years at Eura have taught her moderation, but she hasn't lost any of that spark from the CCFA days, which is why, with the change in philosophy to more attack-oriented football, Guess is now on the roster. There's now a chance for her to make a late run.

RIGHT WINGERS/MIDFIELDERS

RM/CM WEN Xhose | Age: 30| Team:

Yassaca | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 23 Goals Scored: 4 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 2
Wen Xhose (Cho-Say)'s career has been an enigma. Picked up on frees by Yassaca, Xhose has been an integral part of the Squornshelan club's dominance domestically and success internationally, but he was never scouted nor taken seriously by the CFF until recently. Wen is a one-touch passer and infiltrator who can go unnoticed by the defense until the time is too late, often setting up opportunities before the ball even arrives in dangerous situations. He knows how to play smart, calculated, and deadly football, and on top of it all, he doesn't mind not being the first name that falls off of anyone's lips. For a position that will be overshadowed by the opposite for years to come, these are all great qualities to have - and Wen is finally being given the accolades that he deserves. He was an integral part of the Cup of Harmony victory for Chromatika, as he pressed the ball to Vasiliy, Bailliare, and the other playmakers and was okay being a bit of a second thought.

RW Emilie KRUETZBERG | Age: 22 | Team:

Glenmount Town | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 11 Goals Scored: 2 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 89
Recognizable due to a magnificent mane of red hair, Emilie Kruetzberg is a dynamic playmaker who burst into the scene for the Hellcats. She is a swarmer, endlessly trying to be around the ball on the attacking end to tire out the defender and take the shot. She can be a tad overaggressive at times - she led the CCFA in offside calls last two seasons - but she scores or contributes to scoring chances enough times to make up for it. Expect her to assist whomever is the Striker in the formation with constant pressure in front of the goal. Now with Glenmount Town at the Licentian Isles, she continues to build upon her repertoire, trying to get better at midrange shots.

RM Martha BAUM| Age: 21 | Team:

Z'ai'ai Institute of Technology | Height: 5 ft 9 in | Caps: 3 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 89
Martha Baum had the entirety of the CCFA on notice to see where she'll go to, if she isn't whisked away abroad beforehand. She may be a bit short, but with precise passing skills and a flair of the dramatic, there's definitely potential there. She does prefer to be under the radar, though, which has been the only stumbling block on a promising early career. If she can get some confidence? Her stock would rise almost as fast as someone like Kuznetsov. Now that she's been recognized by the CFF, her days of being in the shadows are nearing its end - she just needs to grab the opportunity by the horns. On the last three DBC and WC squads, Baum's become bolder, and though Sybill & Hellion's system will likely have her play a bit further up the field than she would like, she has the shooting skills to take advantage.

LEFT WINGERS/MIDFIELDERS

LW Vasiliy Marten KUZNETSOV | Age: 28 | Team:

Herzegovina City FC | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 87 Goals Scored: 40 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 85 VICE CAPTAIN
Kuznetsov is a star who can do it all - drop back and defend, counter, cross, and shoot from range. The sky is the limit for him, and after winning the Champions' League with Kitara AA, he is in his prime and rearing to go. A humble star who knows what he is worth, Kuznetsov only has one thing left to do on his list - take the Chromatik National Team to new heights. With the complete package, he remains the focal point of the Chromatik attack, and the forefront of the new school of Chromatik football where the Left Winger and the Attacking Midfielder take point over the Strikers. Recently transferring to Banijan powerhouse Herzegovina City FC, Kuznetsov's career is at the point where the only thing left to do is to keep winning, if he can make it work. After not making it to the World Cup, Kuznetsov was a huge part of the Anomalies' Cup of Harmony victory, scoring five of the team's nineteen goals.

LW Edith FILLAR | Age: 18 | Team:

Shamrock Cathair | Height: 5 ft 7 in | Caps: 14 Goals Scored: 9 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 89
The youngest of the Fillars, Edith is the next coming of Megan Kelly, or the Chromatik winger who's short but can run circles around would-be defenders and take over the game due to where she is on the pitch. She may not be the quickest off the ball, but she has the relentlessness that has been present on many great Chromatik wingers. With the mindset of a drill sergeant who is definitely the strictest on herself, Edith's career is just beginning. How is she so high up this list? She showed that she is the best option to be behind Vasiliy Kuznetsov, and with impact minutes off the bench, she's shown that she isn't limited by how many minutes she plays, either.

LW/LM Miranda ANDERSEN | Age: 24 | Team:

Vilharady Owls FC | Height: 6 ft | Caps: 6 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 63
Miranda Andersen is ambidextrous winger/midfielder who has all the skills to be a great player but struggles with motivation and the killer instinct to properly take advantage. Her years in Tikariot have helped her a bit, but she's rather happy with deploying deep crosses and being an assist-focused player first. Anderson is the opposite of any of the other left wingers on the roster, but can be brought in when the focus shifts to the Attacking Midfielder position. She will greatly benefit from being under the guidance of Sybill and Hellion, two midfielders who overcame similar problems to be some of Chromatika's best.

LW Sakia DAMANI | Age: 23 | Team:

East Railway | Height: 5 ft 10 in | Caps: 2 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 90
Stories say that Felswyr staff found Damani in a streetball game in the back alleys of the city and gave her a tryout, where her raw skill, coordination, and quickness caught everyone off guard. After a magical season in Felswyr, she headed off to Astograth, where she has grown into a fine player. There is a streak of rebelliousness that is present throughout every aspect of her play, as she loves bucking the trend and behaving in a way that is unorthodox. Still a bit of a diamond in the rough, Damani's play has gained her a huge fanbase in the country, and with a management staff that values creativity and pure drive, Damani has found a great home.

Kateryna Zuniga is the annoying man-to-man defender that one can never shake. One of the major players that caused the system shift to a more fluid central midfield, Zuniga is more than happy to see the opportunity to start more games. When Armageddon went off the edge, Zuniga stepped in and really helped steady the team as they shifted to the Cup of Harmony and ended up winning the competition. This is the heyday of Zuniga's career, and she's just getting started, looking to help the Moths secure the Zenith as well as help the Anomalies return to the World Cup proper.

AM Haley HAUSER | Age: 28 | Team:

Spartangrad | Height: 6 ft 7 in | Caps: 64 Goals Scored: 30 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Haley Hauser is the shoot first, ask questions later attacking midfielder, scoring more than one goal every two appearances. Playing for a strong Euran side in Spartangrad, Hauser forms one half of the duo with Baillaire Fillar when Chromatika goes for the two Attacking MIdfielders lineup. She now has the chance to thrive and be one of the biggest scoring threats on this roster alongside VMK. Hauser is reportedly absolutely thrilled about working with Sybill and Hellion, and will be given authority to shoot from any range. With six goals in the last cycle, including four in the Cup of Harmony run, Hauser showed her ability to take over a game.

AM Baillaire FILLAR | Age: 21 | Team:

1830 Cathair | Height: 6 ft 3 in | Caps: 47 Goals Scored: 22 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Baillaire Fillar is the flashiest of the Fillars. She subscribes to the Hermaeus Mora/Haley Hauser school of Attacking Midfielders, marrying both styles by shooting first and asking questions later while making deep runs into opposing territory. With a creative and dramatic flair that doesn't really exist in other Chromatiks from the past, Baillaire is a playmaker through and through. With Hellion and Sybill in charge, Baillaire will become more and more integral to the Chromatik attack. She's now one of the starting duo with Hilary when Chromatika goes the 4-3-2-1 route, and with 47 caps by age 21, she could be one of the best players to ever wear the checkered black and white.

DM Kaia LARRIET-CORTES | Age: 23 | Team:

La Nueva Avenida | Height: 6 ft 5 in | Caps: 35 Goals Scored: 2 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Kaia Larriet-Cortes is third in a line of very capable defensive midfielders behind Enigma Armageddon and Kateryna Zuniga. She grabs the attention due to her last name. Niece to the late Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, Chromatika's first Manager and martyr in the Rainbow Revolution, Kaia is an even-keeled Defensive Midfielder who is best described as a younger, female Enigma Armageddon. Both of them are imposing, both of them lead on the pitch, and both of them know how to contribute offensively when needed. Where Enigma commands attention by physical presence, hers is more subtle, being in all the right places at right times. She is often the visionary on the pitch. She had eight caps in the last cycle and showed that she can be the backup to Zuniga during Chromatika's run.

DM Mare SI | Age: 27 | Team:

Yassaca | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 14 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 63
Mare Si is easily the best complete center midfielder in CCFA history. She started off as a holding midfielder and then developed her shooting game to incorporate set pieces as well. The complete package, she'll play the defensive midfielder who has the capability to shoot if the opposition is caught napping. On the squad, she is known as the team's patient assassin, as her playmaking ability increases the longer the game goes. Having tasted success with Yassaca, Mare's trajectory doesn't show any signs of slowing down anytime soon.

AM Alissar PHOEN | Age: 25 | Team:

Alissar Phoen's stock rose like a rocket with Chromia Central College University. An ambidextrous shooter who actually prefers range to up close, his creativity and dramatic scoring ability was what led to his collegiate success and helped him land a spot in Savojarna. Many are wondering if this can be replicated in the international scene; he's done well for himself in Savojana, and with the fact that he's only twenty-five, there is still a lot to be decided in his young career.

DM Enigma ARMAGEDDON | Age: 31 | Team:

Energija Chernovets | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 129 Goals Scored: 18 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 80
The One-Eyed General, Enigma Armageddon, was the Captain and the leader of the squad, and respected amongst all. Then, in one moment, everything changed. He kicked an opponent in the head during the Nyowani Kitara match, leading to the team being down to ten men the rest of the match and the Anomalies being eliminated. He was banned by the CCFA from attending the Cup of Harmony, and there was even talk about him being banned for life; on the pitch, he marks, he directs, and he does well on one-on-one situations. His very presence makes a difference in the room, and the fact that he has been in pressure-pitched situations before grants this team some gravitas when he takes the pitch. These were some of the reasons why Sybill and Hellion decided to keep him around, even from the bench. He'll have to win over the locker room once again, but Chromatika is better for having him as part of this pool.

The homegrown Defensive Midfielder of the bunch, Leysa Burns has been a consistent force in the Red League, whether it be with Chromatik or with Wirr Tsi. A bookish type whose play is more cerebral than physical, Burns is also known for her tutelage of one Truday Harrison of Tumbra. Leysa continuesto become a more complete holding midfielder, with the addition of the ability to commit to the deep ball, playing alongside Wan Sheping and Sara Kristoffersdóttir in Wirr Tsi.

Rozelle | Height: 6 ft 2 in | Caps: 8 Goals Scored: 1 | Debut Cycle: CAFA 1
Tyoma Laurette is a well-rounded Attacking Midfielder whose favorite thing to do is spin around people and leave them in the dust. The issue is that if they aren't fooled, he's probably done. Learning about patience has been the hardest thing for him. Best used in short spurts when the team needs that one chance to make all the difference - for now.

Amélie Ju is a stereotypical holding midfielder who's here to help substitute in when Kaia or Mare needs a breather. She's rather adapt at catching would-be-speedsters and corralling them away from goal. In very rare situations, she can come in to form a triangle of Defensive Midfielders; that would be the most defensive formation that the Chromatiks have to offer. With the fact that the other midfielders will be given chances to shoot at will, Ju will play the role of Armageddon or Zuniga when she is on the pitch.

An assist machine of a midfielder who doesn't shoot himself but is happy enough setting people up, Apt has graduated from Columbia City to the power that is Lakewood City in Tumbra. Now, he's on this squad to play with Si and either Fillar or Hauser as the situation warrants; his youth will serve him well as he takes advantage of this new opportunity. Apt has matured in both body and mind since his college days, and while knowing that this team is chalked full of ridiculously talented midfielders, Apt has earned himself a spot.

Alicia Gainsbourg has a good head and an even better left foot. She rose to prominence and went to Molding; it's been an interesting career in Græntfjall so far but her presence on the national team is a welcome one. She doesn't really fit the current Chromatik attacking model either, but can provide the creative spark that could be the edge that Chromatika needs to put games away against the opposition. She became the top striker during the Cup of Harmony, and scored four goals for the squad - providing another avenue for attack besides Vasiliy Kuznetsov and the Attacking Midfielders.

ST Hank KILLIAN | Age: 23 | Team:

Blackfields | Height: 6 ft 1 in | Caps: 6 Goals Scored: 0 | Debut Cycle: World Cup 90
A pure playmaker who's willing to do it all, or in some cases, too much at times. Needs to learn when to rein it in. Killian went to the Euran Oceanian Territories and made a killing for himself at Oslograd Academy, becoming one of the better strikers. Now, he's moved up to Blackfields. Killian can sometimes try to do too much, but as long as he keeps the field in front of him, he has so much potential.

ST Paskal TOUSSAINT | Age: 28 | Team:

Miradela GD | Height: 5 ft 11 in | Caps: 28 Goals Scored: 7 | Debut Cycle: AOCAF 62
Paskal Toussaint is a short-ranged one-on-one specialist who's mostly on this roster to be a supporting striker with the new philosophy. He'll spend most of the game trying to slip by unnoticed and be an outlet for the Attacking Midfielders or Wingers should they need it. This style of play fits him best, as he is on the smallish side and doesn't do the best when it comes to directly confronting the defense.

ST Kara OVENI | Age: 21 | Team:

Kara Oveni may be just twenty-one, but she is a beast in stature and in playstyle. Still developing that instinct at Colonial Sile, Oveni's career is just beginning. She can take over games by her persistent presence in front of the goal and her ability to work with other playmakers.

The Heroes of the People's Revolution will take to the football pitches across the decadent multiverse to demonstrate the superiority of the Fort McKinley way of life as Comrade Dr Allen wills it.
Following an exhibition in something called the ACF, the brave men of our nation competed in the slovenly and immoral nation of Mertagne in the Baptism of Fire where in spite of the capitalist filth all around them, our boys won all their matches before the officials intervened and plotted a way to eliminate the side from the tournament through favoring the team from Aleirave.
Since they could not be defeated in 90 minutes, the team were forced to play an extra half-hour, where fatigue finally overcame the Heroes and a goal was scored which proved the difference. In spite of a formal protest being filed, the squad returned home.

In the World Cup, there will be matches played at the People's Revolution Stadium, where there will be nowhere to hide the dirty tricks or conduct machinations to deprive us of victory; Group 10 will be the playing league that Fort McKinley will join, where they will be matched against ten other nations--no doubt all of them capitalist hellholes of iniquity.

Piarres Erke. Forgettable showings at the Cup of Harmony and Copa Rushmori followed. World Cup 91 is likely to be Erke’s last chance at qualifying; another failure would end the FAF’s patience. The changing of the guard he began during the last cycle continues, as goalscoring machine Aire Epherra has retired from international football to pursue his new dream of being an action movie star.

Erke has swapped out the 4–3–3 focused on Epherra for a return to 4–2–2–2, taking advantage of Astograth’s strengths down the middle of the pitch. If necessary, Erke’s Olibondeka is able to shift back to 4–3–3, or form a 4–4–2 or a 4–2–3–1, but the manager maintains his priority is to make full use of the 4–2–2–2’s ‘magic rectangle’ . Baraxil Muhaburu, the team’s playmaking pivot, is to be played slightly out of position, pushed up and expected to occasionally threaten goal himself. Yokin Erdokiain and Olentzaro Karazatorre, the two strikers, are expected to drop back and help in building up play together with Muhaburu and Tomofumi Ishimoda. In defensive midfield, Artizar Bailo is expected to be the main link while Domiku Bergara focuses on winning the ball, though the two are expected to fulfil both functions as needed. The formation’s fragility is on the wings, relying on the full-backs on width – or on Muhaburu and Ishimoda moving wide, which does not suit the former at all.

Buruchaga was an old-school starting right-back for Astograth University and Iturributa United before wrapping up his career at Athletic Olarria and becoming Erke’s right-hand man. Not a tactician, but certainly a loud and vigorous motivator.

KT Itzalovalle (Audioslavia) – 32 caps, 10 clean sheets
A low–profile product of Garitzeta Racing Club’s academy, Rospide was snapped up at 21 by the eagle–eyed scouts of Audioslavia’s KT Itzalovalle. They evidently saw something that local coaches did not, because Rospide, in a few short years, took over as the club’s starter. Promoted to the national team’s starting lineup after winning an Audioslavian National League title, Rospide has maintained a strong form with the Olives. His main rival, Gentza Bedigax, is out of the team, and Rospide can now breathe easier knowing his place is safe – if he doesn’t become complacent.

#5 – LB – Marko Martel (C) – Age 30 –

Lajuno (Eura) – 128 caps, 8 goals
Martel is one of Astograth's most exciting players. Bursting onto the scene at just 18 years old, he was part of Sporting Ibarguren's Royal Cup–winning team, beating Urbizania Wanderers in the final despite being a second–tier side. Swiftly transferred to giants Sporting Iturributa, he was part of a league–winning squad but, frustrated at the lack of playing time, forced his move to Athletic Club Olarria, where more strong performances earned him a place on the national team and on the famous Galácticos longlist. Nothing if not ambitious, he further secured a move to the Euraleague and displaced Urre Remondegi as starter for Olibondeka. Martel as captain is popular with the public and most of the squad, who see him as a tireless, combative, unrelenting figure.

#6 – CB – Irakusne Hecharri – Age 24 –

Sporting Iturributa – 36 caps
Not long ago, Hecharri was a complete unknown: a young centre-back signed from Sporting Iturributa’s women’s team to play for Royal Ibarbe in the First Division. Ibarbe manager Ilazki Altzibararechuluaga entrusted her with starting in one of the Astograthian league’s strongest defences and she responded immediately, becoming a reassuring and highly rated fan favourite. Quick, agile, and a very clean tackler, she likewise adapted admirably to the rigours of World Cup qualifying and began to start regularly at the Copa Rushmori. The controversy over selecting women to the national team has largely died down owing to her and Urtzumu Ganzarain earning the public’s admiration. After helping Royal Ibarbe to their first-ever Royal Cup, Hecharri has returned to Sporting Iturributa – but the senior, mixed squad, and her ambition is one to keep an eye on.

#3 – CB – Alarabi Labeaga – Age 29 –

Mâ Âlâmëómë (Farfadillis) – 88 caps, 4 goals
An impetuous talent, Labeaga came through the youth ranks of Urbizania Wanderers, rapidly making his way to the first team at age 18 and featuring in their title–winning run of 680. Louis Vaudrail, then manager of Royal Rumiatzi, arranged their purchase of Labeaga but was unable to control the centre–back's ego and demands for a starting spot. Forcing a move abroad, he was able to land at the renowned Mâ Âlâmëómë of Farfadillis and immediately won a league title. Labeaga considers himself a god of defending, which tends to rub staff and teammates the wrong way, and his raucous friendship with Muhaburu has led to some headline-catching outings and gossip. Can also act as defensive midfielder – emphasis on defensive – if necessary.

#2 – RB – Oxarra Peira – Age 26 –

Lajuno (Eura) – 24 caps
Trained at the youth setup of Athletic Club Olarria, Peira was lured to Eura’s Lajuno at 19 years old. There he has matured into a capable right-back and regular starter in the Euraleague, which has not escaped Erke’s attention. A strong successor to the retired Ixaka Echeberz, Peira is well versed in high-pressure, physically strenuous tactics. His club partnership opposite Martel can lead to some interesting cross-wing play, which is particularly vital in Erke’s demanding system.

#15 – DM – Domiku Bergara (VC) – Age 33 –

AC Izotz Zubia (Audioslavia) – 93 caps, 5 goals
Hardworking Bergara was spotted as a sharp talent at a young age, and Urbizania Wanderers shelled out a big wad of cash to sign him from Iturributa United at age 21. With Wanderers, Bergara got his hands on a league title and a Royal Cup before striking out to join Audioslavia's AC Izotz Zubia, where he has enjoyed great success and earned a place on the national team. An elegant, patient player skilled in both defence and with the ball, he’ll have the pressure of being the main ball–winner in a formation heavy on midfield action. Bergara was selected as the team’s vice-captain in a bid to placate the Wanderers-Ruland clique, as he is known for being an amiable bridge between them and the rest of the team, though the ongoing friction has worn that link thin.

#17 – DM – Artizar Bailo – Age 30 –

KT Itzalovalle (Audioslavia) – 35 caps, 3 goals
When Erke arrived at the national team, Bailo was his first big surprise. With so many central and defensive midfielders to choose from, Bailo was most people’s fourth or fifth or even sixth option – he did not have high-level international experience, had never played abroad, and was not particularly young. However, his dogged determination and Erke’s knowledge of how to get the most out of him – having worked together at AC Olarria – made him a standout performer at CR 38 and secured him a major transfer to KT Itzalovalle, with whom he won the Audioslavian National League. Bailo is the first player from the tiny island region of Bakartirla to reach the national team, so there is also a great deal of regional pride involved.

#8 – AM – Baraxil Muhaburu – Age 29 –

Rülândéá Kôstä (Farfadillis) – 93 caps, 8 goals
One of the top players of the Shango-Fogoa Premier League, Muhaburu’s excellent vision, passing technique, set-piece specialty and ability to threaten goal make him a vital player for Astograth. His fondness for drink, poor attitude, and off-pitch antics often cause issues and perhaps damper his ability, but he remains incredibly talented. Muhaburu is expected to be Olibondeka’s main playmaker and to be an attacking threat himself, which he isn’t overly used to. Potentially being forced onto the left wing, significantly out of position, is something he dreads and could be the cause of a few tantrums.

#10 – AM – Tomofumi Ishimoda – Age 29 –

Gortz United – 36 caps, 5 goals
A native of the Hinodejin Empire, Ishimoda was originally signed by Ituraitz FC after graduating from that country’s Asakawa College. Though touted as a highly versatile attacker who could be used as a centre-forward, a false 9, a playmaker, or a winger on either flank, Ishimoda’s first few seasons were troubled by injury, lacklustre performances as a substitute, and the coaching team scratching their heads wondering how he fit into their plans. A loan spell at Bakartirla Buccaneers finally allowed him the time and space to shine, and when transferred to Gortz he completed his revelation of himself as a virtuoso. Guiding Gortz to an incredible, unprecedented title challenge and eventual runner-up finish, Ishimoda combines speed, tremendous dribbling skill, precise passing, and an acute positional awareness, allowing him to drop deep into the midfield yet always be in the box when required. Always irreverent, Ishimoda’s disregard for authority ruffles some feathers with the old guard of the squad.

#7 – CF – Olentzaro Karazatorre – Age 30 –

KT Moreazerua (Audioslavia) – 110 caps, 40 goals
Karazatorre, one–time winner of the First Division's Young Player award, became known to the Astograthian public at age 20 with aplomb. He banged in 13 goals in a season for the modest Antiguoko FC as they finished in 10th place, then 15 as they climbed to 8th, then 19 goals, before signing with Ituraitz FC, Pyathora Mariners of Tikariot and finally Audioslavia’s Moreazerua. Karazatorre has finally found his stride with Mozi and the national team. His pace, height, and dribbling ability led Erke to deploy him as an inside forward, a role in which he performed acceptably, but now returns to the centre-forward role to make full use of his goalscoring potential. Karazatorre has already the national team’s 6th all-time top scorer, and can yet climb higher.

#9 – CF – Yokin Erdokiain – Age 26 –

AC Izotz Zubia (Audioslavia) – 21 caps, 4 goals
Erdokiain became known to the Astograthian public as a timid youth product of minnows Urizaharra FC, scoring 21 goals across two First Division seasons – a major contribution to Urizaharra’s shocking two-time survival from relegation. Singled out as one of the top young players in the league, he was snapped up by Urbizania Wanderers, earned himself a call-up to the national team for World Cup 88 qualifying – and flopped. Massively. It took long hours on the training ground, loan spells, and finally a surprise transfer to Audioslavian giants AC Izotz Zubia for Erdokiain to regain his confidence and reach his potential. Now an Audioslavian National League champion, Erdokiain has inherited the national team’s mythical no. 9 shirt and all the expectations that come with it.

1830 Cathair (Audioslavia) – 2 caps, 1 clean sheet
Unax Goyenola became the first player from minnow club Dockyard Oaks to be selected for the national team, off the back of some impressive individual performances which were not, unfortunately, enough to save his club from relegation. A transfer to new top team Gortz United has been quickly followed by an even bigger jump: 1830 Cathair of Audioslavia. Former captain of the Astograthian U-20s, Goyenola is outspoken and confident beyond his years, a commanding presence at the back. Erke hopes his presence on the national team will help him develop into an experienced goalkeeper who can take up the mantle when necessary.

#23 – GK – Azubeli Arana – Age 24 –

Royal Ibarbe – Uncapped
A product of Ituraitz FC’s academy, Arana stays true to the port city’s tradition of great goalkeepers. Arana never debuted for the Reds, however, instead finding his way to the humble Antiguoko FC. There he became a regular starter at just 20, turning into a reassuring presence for the team’s frequently troubled defence. Arana has since transferred to Royal Ibarbe, who are noted for excellent defending, and cemented himself as one of the brightest young keepers in the Astograthian First Division. Though Erke hasn’t been transparent about it, the speculation in the media is that he plans on having Arana and Goyenola battle it out for Rospide’s position.

#12 – LB – Tipi Izotzubia – Age 21 –

Rülândéá Kôstä (Farfadillis) – 9 caps, 3 goals
Tipi Izotzubia appeared as if from nowhere to sign for top Farf team Rülândéá Kôstä, who are on a crusade to sign seemingly every Astograthian player in existence. Izotzubia quickly displaced the rest of the competition and has risen to become Kôstä’s starting left-back, making him a prime target for a national team call-up. Despite his sudden fame, his past remains mysterious and the defender himself rarely speaks, preferring to rely on his (Rulandese) agent. Given his apparent lack of a footballing past in Astograth – or any sort of past in the country – and his poor command of the Astograthian language, most people assume he is Farf-born of Astograthian descent. His papers, at least, all seem to be in order.

#21 – CB – Teyo Echehun – Age 28 –

Clayquot City (Kelssek) – Uncapped
Echehun left Astograth an arrogant 20-year-old who thought he was too good to stick around on Echegoyan FC’s bench despite being a centre-back who struggled to clear a corner. Many seasons at Clayquot have imparted some discipline into his training and polished him into an imperfect but smooth player. Tidy in the tackle, Echehun specialises in picking off smartarse dribblers, and his remarkable stamina keeps him sharp late into the match. Decent in the air nowadays. His performances for Clayquot City have seen him named one of the best defenders in Kelssek and earned him his first call-up to the national team.

#19 – CB – Hurko Germain – Age 24 –

Liria Prizren (Mytanija) – 6 caps
A bright product of East Railway’s academy, Germain was lured away to Ituraitz FC while still a teenager, made a good impression in the First Division and, following his agent’s advice, made a big-money transfer to Mytanija’s Liria Prizren. Now matured into one of Liria’s top players, Germain is strong and smart where he isn’t imposing, an expert in unsettling attackers and folding them into his back pocket.

#16 – RB – Ageio Osinde – Age 27 –

Jaglan Royals (Squornshelous) – 9 caps
Erke is not exactly spoiled for choice when it comes to right-backs at the moment, so he has fallen back on a familiar face. Osinde was a reliable, unspectacular squad player for Ituraitz Victory and Royal Rumiatzi before finding his way to Piarres Erke’s Athletic Olarria. There, his potential finally bore fruit: a pacey wing-back who can deliver a mean cross is exactly the sort of service that Erke needed and which he has gone on to provide at top team Urbizania Wanderers. Now it is also what is required of him, if called upon: make himself an attacking threat. The right flank’s defence may suffer, but Erke hopes he can make up for it by shifting to a backline of 5 – or simply some additional grit from his centre-backs.

#22 – DM – Xuban Sarasketa – Age 23 –

Kingsgrove (Brenecia) – Uncapped
Xuban Sarakseta has spent his career jumping off sinking ships – and seems to have finally landed on solid ground. From several minor teams he arrived at Echegoyan FC’s developmental setup while the senior team struggled to survive in the First Division. He moved to Basabe Old Boys to find playing time, only for Old Boys to be relegated; they gave Sarasketa the option to terminate his contract if he signed abroad, so he slipped away on a free transfer to Brenecian giants Kingsgrove – whose scouting setup deserves credit for spotting a gem. Restless on the pitch, Sarasketa hounds the opposition to the last while out of possession and, when in possession, is quick to spot and play the pass. No matter how young or new to the team he might be, Sarasketa does not shy away from assuming a leadership role on the pitch and driving forward. He favours a quick tempo, which could make him a valuable impact substitution when Astograth need the goal. Teammate Baraxil Muhaburu has decided he doesn’t like Sarasketa’s peppiness, which could cause problems.

#14 – DM – Potz Gambor – Age 29 –

Canbix Muses (Zwangzug) – 28 caps, 1 goal
Gambor was discarded by Ituraitz FC after outgrowing their U21 squad. Not one to lose hope, he took his talents abroad and found a home in Zwangzug’s Canbix Muses. There he has steadily become one of the best players in the 1./, and is a versatile alternative who can readily start for Astograth. Erke can deploy him as a defensive midfield or a bit further up as a box–to–box midfielder – whatever makes the most of his endurance, tackling ability, tight passing and knack for long shots.

#11 – LM – Eskuin Nekol – Age 27 –

AC Izotz Zubia (Audioslavia) – 61 caps, 7 goals
Nekol is perhaps one of the most shocking comeback stories in Astograthian football. A product of Royal Association’s academy, he transferred to Sporting Iturributa while still a teenager and quickly found himself in the first team of a club that was a on a roll, winning three league titles in a row. The following season was disastrous for Sporting, dropping down to 7th, but Nekol’s career was on the rise as a clever winger that could shoot from range, catching the eye of international scouts. Then, in the cup final that could save the season, Nekol was subbed on and stupidly punched the opposition captain in extra–time; Sporting would lose on penalties to the lowly Gesterlake. This effectively ended his career at Iturributa, allowing AC Izotz Zubia to swoop in for cheap. The rest is history – a National League title and an incredible, 45–yard goal to his name, in just his first season.

#20 – RM – Zilar Galharretborde – Age 29 –

Langlois Océanic (Kelssek) – 52 caps, 2 goals
Galharretborde came through the youth ranks of Royal Arexa, and thanks to a wily agent and a leap of faith, he managed to land a move to Kelssek's Langlois Océanic. In his first season he impressed, earning the league's Young Player award and catching the eye of the national team in the process. He may not be the fastest or most technical player, but he is very good at stretching the field of play by building up moves from the wing, playing fluid football with his full–back and centre midfield. Galharretborde is the one least amused by Erke’s shift to playing without wide players, since he has waited for years to take up the mantle of Ihazintu Malkorra down the right wing. He’ll be one to watch when given the chance to play, but his frustration with the national team is extreme.

#19 – CF – Nahia Legarra – Age 24 –

Atletik Thessia (Mytanija) – Uncapped
Two-time top scorer of the Mytanar Top League, Legarra has more than earned his call-up to the national team. Having featured from the bench for a few small sides in the First Division, Legarra made a big jump signing for Atletik of Mytanija, reportedly on advice from fellow Astograthian striker and club legend Chiki Larrimbe. On top of being a clinical finisher, Legarra is a smart player with a sharp sense of positioning and understanding of the game. These attributes have led to some detractors labelling him a simple ‘tap-in merchant’ who merely profits off the hard work of his teammates at Atletik – an unfair criticism, but it does raise the question of whether he can adapt to Olibondeka.

#18 – CF – Mogel Galdiano – Age 30 –

Royal Rumiatzi – 10 caps, 1 goal
An unassuming striker, Galdiano was publicly shocked by his initial call-up to the national team while at mid-table side Sporting Arkamo. The first half of his twenties had been spent on the bench for Royal Rumiatzi, killing time waiting for a chance that never came. Arkamo took a gamble on him and were rewarded with a reliable, technical centre-forward who learned valuable lessons from legends Martin Blessed and Yasone Urdanibia at Royal Rumiatzi. Physically unremarkable but with a keen eye for goal, Galdiano is known for trying to place his shots from outside the box. His strong form in the First Division, featuring among the league’s top scorer, have led to him re-signing for Royal Rumiatzi, this time as star striker.

Overview

Head Coach: Agung Suryanantha (Pemecutan)

Agung Suryanantha is the new head coach of the Eraman national football team. He is the former head coach of the Pemecutan national team. Under his guidance, Pemecutan qualified for the World Cup for the first time. He resigned from the Pemecutan national team after bad results in the 9th Melayu Archipelago Cup.

He guided Eraman to the knockout stage of the 82nd Cup of Harmony in his first competitive tournament as the head coach of Eraman national team and led Eraman to their first-ever 10th Melayu Archipelago Cup title a few months after that.

Overview

Sendhang or Federation of Sendhang is a a landlocked nation located in the Melayu Archipelago on the Melayu Mainland. It has a land border with Acastanha, Kayangan, Springmont, Havynwilde, Bachok, and Samudera Darussalam. Sendhang consists of a federal territory and 4 states namely Lemah Banyu, Alamsunda, Putrasia, and Nainhá.

Football in Sendhang is governed by the newly-formed Persatuan Sepakbola Seluruh Sendhang (PS3). PS3 was officially formed over four years ago. Before the formation of PS3, football in Sendhang was governed separately by each of the state FAs. There was no Sendhang national team prior to the formation of PS3.

The formation of PS3 also paved the way for a new national league, the Liga Super Sendhang (LSS) which kicked off its inaugural season 4 years ago. There was no national league before the introduction of LSS. Each of the state FAs organized their league separately before that.

Sendhang is currently ranked 78th in the world.

PS3 Complex & Facilities

PS3 is headquartered at PS3 Complex in Kambang, the capital city of Sendhang. The complex is located in an area of 55 hectares in the southern part of the Capital Region of Kambang.

It is equipped with the 40,000 seaters national stadium, the Federal Stadium or locally known as Stadium Persekutuan, an older 20,000 seaters stadium, the Unity Stadium or locally known as Stadium Perpaduan, an office block, an accommodation block, a gymnasium, and 3 training pitches.

When PS3 was formed, the facilities were immediately transferred to the new football governing body. The facilities were managed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports before PS3 was formed.

The Federal Stadium is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Sendhang national football team. The Federal Stadium has a capacity of 40,000 making it the largest football stadium in Sendhang. All Sendhang home matches will be held at the Federal Stadium.

Staffs & Tactics

Head Coach: Teuku Irfan

Teuku Irfan was officially appointed as the head coach of the national team prior to the 82nd Cup of Harmony after leading Sendhang to 5 wins, a draw, and a defeat in his 7 matches as the caretaker coach after Teuku Syarkawi was sacked. He is a graduate of sports science from the Universiti Sendhang and this is his first job as a head coach.

Irfan started his career with KS Tapaklaboh as the assistant to Teuku Syarkawi. He was brought to the national team setup 3 years ago after Teuku Syarkawi was appointed as the national team head coach.

Assistant Head Coach: Teuku Syarkawi

Teuku Syarkawi is the former head coach of KS Tapaklaboh, the most successful club in Putrasia in the States League era before the introduction of Liga Super Sendhang. He was appointed as the first head coach of the Sendhang national team a week after PS3 was officially announced. It was an easy decision for the decision-makers in PS3 at that time as Syarkawi is a very highly-rated head coach among football enthusiasts in Sendhang, especially Putrasia.

He was sacked by PS3 from the head coach position after six consecutive winless runs in the first half of the 90th World Cup qualifiers but was later handpicked by Teuku Irfan to be the assistant head coach of the national team. He is a long-time friend of Irfan who was his assistant at KS Tapaklaboh and the national team. The two complement each other and have worked well together for years. Irfan will usually lead team training while Syarkawi spent most of his time monitoring the training from his office while analyzing data and formulating strategies.

Teuku Irfan is a defensive-minded counter-attacking coach. He prefers to play with a defensive midfielder to protect the back four and to start counter-attacks. This is accompanied by two quick wingers that will sit deep to help the defense when they don't have the ball and get in position to launch a counter-attack while in transition when they have just won the ball.

Irfan prefers his team to be very disciplined in defending. His team will sit deep and frustrate the opponent for 90 minutes if needed. He doesn't believe in possession football. He wants his team to be very direct and quick when attacking. As his mentor and current assistant manager said, "possession doesn't win games. Goal does. Keep it tight at the back and hit team on the break."

Albertus Wageo is the Liga Super Sendhang’s goalkeeper of the year in the first 2 seasons of the Liga Super Sendhang. He signed for KS Larantuka from PS Oelmasi at the start of the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang on a free transfer. The Oelmasi-born goalkeeper helped his new club to a second-place finish in the inaugural season before leading the club to the league title 2 seasons ago, conceding the least goal in both seasons. His selection as the captain of the national team 3 years ago has been an honor for him. His leadership, integrity, influence, and high social skills are what the coach sees in him. Syarkawi believed that Wageo as a captain could unite the new squad which comprises of players from different backgrounds.

Monyet Pasuryan's ability in guarding the Persejo Kratonredjo goal in the inaugural season of Liga Super Sendhang deserved a thumbs up and earned him a call-up to the national team. The 28 years old Kratonredjo-born sweeper goalkeeper was ever-present for the club from the state capital of Lemah Banyu for the past 2 seasons. He only conceded 21 times in the 22 matches in the first season, 22 times in 22 matches 2 seasons ago and 23 times in 22 matches last season. This record led Persejo Kratonredjo to be the 4th least conceded team in the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang season, the 2nd least conceded team 2 seasons ago and the least conceded team last season which earned him the goalkeeper of the season award for the first time last season.

Small and cunning, that is how the media described Teuku Hamzah. He is one of the four KS Tapakbaloh players called up by Syarkawi to the national team, their former head coach. His performance in the last 3 seasons convinced Syarkawi to call him up for national duty. Sendhangite will be looking for him to use his speed and agility to make overlap to open the space for Sendhang down the wing.

DC: Teuku Muhammad Bari

Club: KS Tapaklaboh

Teuku Muhammad Bari is a strong and commanding center-back. He is very highly rated by Syarkawi who coached him at KS Tapaklaboh but Bari is not a player that football fans in Putrasia are interested in because of his temperament. While he is a regular player for his club, he is also a regular on the referee's notebook for the yellow and red cards. He is often seen kicking the opponent's leg, sometimes he is in trouble for it but sometimes he gets away with it. His disciplinary record is bad. Nevertheless, he won the Liga Super Sendhang best defender of the year award in the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang season. His ability to mark, tackle and close down opponents is enough for Syarkawi to call him up. He is also an asset when defending or attacking a set-piece due to his heading ability and jumping reach.

Club: Persejo Kratonredjo

Putra Lumipada consistently led the back four of Persejo Kratonredjo for the past 3 seasons. His role for his club is irreplaceable. The ball-playing defender won the Liga Super Sendhang’s best defender of the year award last season. The 30 years old Kratonredjo-born who is also the captain of Persejo Kratonredjo was very commanding throughout the last 3 seasons and kept his backline very disciplined.

The 28 years old defender of KS Larantuka is the star player of his club helping his club to 3 Liga Mese Nainhá and a Liga Super Sendhang title. His consistent performance earned him the defender of the year award 2 seasons ago. He is entering his ninth-year with KS Larantuka after his contract was extended for another 3 years 2 seasons ago.

The club never even reached the top 4 of Liga Mese Nainhá but Beripeda's performance caught the eye of Teuku Syarkawi. His flexibility is amazing. Although originally a defensive midfielder, he could move forward to help the attack. He is also comfortable playing as a sweeper. This versatility makes Beripeda a unique addition to the national team. He signed for the champion of Nainhá, KS Larantuka before the inaugural Liga Super Sendhang season to challenge himself at the highest level in Sendhang football and it was arguably the best transfer of the season as Beripeda went on to become the Liga Super Sendhang’s best player of the year in the first 2 season of the Liga Super Sendhang and helped KS Larantuka to clinch the title 2 seasons ago.

Teuku Hassan Al-Qari is the captain of KS Tapaklaboh. He is very highly respected by his teammates. He spent his entire career with KS Tapaklaboh. The emergence of Teuku Herman 3 seasons ago, a KS Tapaklaboh academy graduate challenged Hassan's place in the starting eleven but Syarkawi is confident that Hassan can maintain his form and skills for the foreseeable future and deserved his place in the starting eleven of the national team. His main quality is his creativity, vision, and passing ability. Hassan is another player that the national team can rely on to take the free kicks and corner kicks.

Nanang Wirajuda was a key player for KS Danokota for the past few seasons in which they clinched the Liga Perdana Alamsunda title in the last 3 seasons before Liga Super Sendhang was introduced. Sendhangite will be looking to see Nanang replicate his club form for the national team especially with his composure, long-range passing, and high stamina. Ramon Kalbasi is one of the standout performers for KS Larantuka in the past 3 seasons, in which they finished as runner-up before clinching the title 2 seasons ago and finished runner-up again last season. His trickery and dribbling skills caught the eye of many and earned him a spot in the Liga Super Sendhang’s best XI of the year award in all 3 Liga Super Sendhang seasons so far. The right inside forward is also a huge threat in terms of goalscoring as he went on to be the second top goalscorer in the league behind Teuku Salahuddin in the first 2 seasons before winning the golden boot last season.

Keylar Samoi is the main attacking threat for his club, KS Gunung Kayasu and led them to their first ever Liga Lemah Banyu title last season. He mainly plays on the left-wing but is also comfortable playing as a striker. His main strength is his pace, dribbling, and long shot. He also showed that he can be a goalscoring threat last season as he finished third in the top goalscorer chart of the Liga Super Sendhang behind Ramon Kalbasi and Teuku Salahudin.

ST: Teuku Salahuddin

Club: KS Tapaklaboh

Teuku Salahuddin confirmed his status as the best striker in the country 2 seasons ago after winning 3 end-of-season Liga Super Sendhang awards, the most award won by a single player. Salahudin led the line of attack for Sendhang for the first time in the World Cup 89 qualifiers after winning the striker of the year, young player of the year as well as the golden boot award. The 90th World Cup qualifier will be Salahudin's second tournament as the main striker after getting the nod to start towards the end of the 89th World Cup qualifier. Standing at only 170cm, Salahuddin is miniature in size but very quick and clinical in finishing. He won the golden boot award 2 seasons ago and is the second highest goalscorer in the latest Liga Super Sendhang season.

AMR - Temiar Kintak
Age: 30
Club: Perseguput Gunung Putri

Temiar Kintak is not known for his goalscoring ability but he ticked all the boxes preferred by Syarkawi to fill this position. He is a very hardworking player who will help the defense, probably run on 3 lungs because he never gets tired and most importantly has the pace and trickery to launch a counter-attack when they won the ball.

AML: Cezar Nowela
Age: 26
Club: KS Larantuka

Unlike most of the players in the national team squad, Cezar Nowela was not part of the original squad that participated in the 7th Melayu Archipelago Cup, Sendhang's first-ever competitive international tournament. The left inside forward was only called up 2 years ago after his performance with KS Larantuka in the first few Liga Super Sendhang matches 2 seasons ago caught the eye of Teuku Syarkawi. Sendhangite will be looking for Nowela’s pace when hitting the opponent on the break as well as getting into the opponent’s penalty box for a goalscoring chance.

ST - Gusti Sing Nggawe
Age: 31
Club: Perserejo Kratonredjo

Gusti Sing Nggawe was the star of the national team before Teuku Salahudin took over that role. He was the top goal scorer of Liga Lemah Banyu 2 and helped Pesisir United to a third-place finish, enough for them to earn a spot in the new Liga Super Sendhang 3 seasons ago. He gained national prominence after scoring 5 of the 7 goals for Sendhang in the 7th Melayu Archipelago Cup especially after scoring the winning goal against Trolleborg. He then went on to score 16 goals in his first 13 international appearances. He is a very good header of the ball, has good first touch, and is very sharp in the penalty box but lost his place to Salahudin after a bad year in front of goal 2 years ago. He moved to Perserejo Kratonredjo at the start of 2 seasons ago to rejuvenate his touch in front of goal and helped his new club to a second-place finish in his debut season as the third-highest scoring player in the league behind Teuku Salahudin and Ramon Kalbasi. However, he then went on a slump again last season making people to question his consistency.
