Latin American progressivism is mostly concerning economics (hence the popularity of socialist parties there). Outside of Uruguay (remove a "u" and you'll get the joke), it's a pretty socially conservative place.

True. Sadly we tend to vote for incompetent people in office. Hence why a central American nation wanted to adopt bitcoin as their currency

Like the response of the president to the European chamber about the risks of being a journalist there! I am laughing so hard I am crying. Oh mi Mexico querido
in a latin american country, journalists are either persecuted victims or terroristic agent provacateurs depending on whether or not the country is a US ally

Hey, that's cool! Aside from the Narcos, corruption, violation of women's rights, assassinations of multiple journalists, violent crime, and incompetent politicians
Mexico is a nice place to have vacations in the designated areas for tourism

I have been to Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara numerous times and they are not vacation areas. They were fine. I felt safer in Guadalajara than I have ever felt in a lot of American cities.

Their presidential vote's in two months, and I'll have a post on that here as soon as I can sit down for as long as needed.

Hey, that's nice! Personally, I have never been mugged before or robbed as well, so you can assume that happens in very specific places in Mexico, though Nuevo Leon is particularly the least violent state in Mexico, the people can be really selfish drivers from time to time there

It is true that Monterrey is pretty Americanized. It felt like being in a more Latino version of Texas when I visited.

Colombia and Chile are about to go far-left. Chile is probably boinked but it will be recoverable. I worry for Colombia but there's enough US fuckery in the country that I doubt much will change.
Argentina's economy continues to be a joke.
AMLO in Mexico is based and is under seige by neoliberals from all sides.
That is all.
