For anyone here who is currently active in the IUBC or would like to get involved in the IUBC: would you have a preference for when the next IUBC takes place? Right now, we're leaning towards having it take place right before or right after the upcoming IBC. A pre-IBC cutoff would likely be in mid-July around the same time as the IBC host vote, while a post-IBC cutoff would likely be sometime in August.

Normally, right before the IBC would make the most sense, give some RP material and such, but for this upcoming edition it might be best to be after with the IBC imminent.

Agreed with what Elf said. Gives at least plenty of time for a lot of us to post, without worrying about IFCF or other tournaments popping up.

You now have approximately 46 hours since the time this was posted to vote for both your IBC 32 host and next IBO president.

Check the time here.

Presidential Voting Results

Postby International Basketball Organization » Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:17 am

And now time for the presidential vote. It was another close vote and turnout was low, but here are results anyway.

Banija - 1 vote
Græntfjall - 2 votes

With these results, Græntfjall has become the new President of the IBO! I'll be messaging them shortly with the account information so they can take over from here. Græntfjall will need to appoint a Vice President at some point soon. The term should last 3 cycles, so Graint will have to open voting for the next presidential term with IBC 35 signups.

Well that's... unfortunate.

I intended to withdraw from the tournament based on the host vote, but now that the group draw has taken place, I can't very well do that and not throw a monkey wrench in things.

I am sorry to hear that, but as the OP has been posted and the group draw conducted, I'm afraid it's too late to withdraw.

Chromatika,

Any reason why you've chosen to stretch out the Round of 16 over a four-day period rather than have the eight matches played on one RL day?

I'm sorry mate, but I believe you are mistaken.

I think they meant two weeks IC, as the first post still says all matches will be scored on Tuesday.

I may be wrong, but that is the situation as I understand it to be

That was a pleasant surprise, and what a way to go out. :D

In all seriousness, as I might have said a few too many times in NSS Discord, I have just recovered from some IRL stuff that happened in the past 2 weeks, but I am better now. So yeah, thanks for being patient with me, and for sticking with me. ♥

This was certainly fun, even though I only got in a total of 1 post (excluding the roster). I'm sorry to those who wanted to RP a match against my team, but I just couldn't.

I will update the rankings in due time. Hopefully soon, but they'll be ready before IBC 33 begins at the very latest.

IBO membership updates. Eligibility reminder:

Section 1: To be a member of the IBO, a nation must have posted a roster and at least 1 RP in each of the previous 2 IBCs.

Section 2: Nations which do not post a roster for 2 consecutive IBCs will lose their membership.

Section 3: Any previous hosts of the IBC are automatically members of the IBO, so long as they successfully hosted the tournament to its conclusion and posted a roster in the most recently completed edition of the IBC.

Correct!

Ranks have been updated. I decided to have some fun and make this, since I think the ranks are always on the same Google Sheet link right now: http://tinyurl.com/IBOranks.

As always, shoot me a message if you spot any mistakes.

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to run another short edition of the AOBC as a warm-up for the IBC. As before, if you're interested and a resident of Atlantian Oceania, shoot me a TG/ping/PM me on discord. I'd also like to guage interest in a regional domestic basketball competition a la the AOCL, so feel free to weigh in on that too.
