Ravens lose to Raiders 33-27 in OT after blowing an early 14 point lead. Apparently they misplaced their entrenching tools midway through the second quarter.
Hervé Jean-Pierre Villechaize (de plane boss, de plane) could have blocked as well as FA acquisition RT Villanueva (or is that spelled Villianueva)... and Herve, a midget, died back in 1993.
That being said, it was a wild finish. This was a game the Ravens still could have won in OT after Marcus Peters' replacement, CB Anthony Averett, made the endzone int in OT. But no, the OL failed to protect Lamar yet again. Fumble.
KC's DL Chris Jones is going to devour RT Villianueva if there's a repeat performance. Could get Lamar injured. Harbs might wanna start OL Patrick Mekari instead.
BTW, the Ravens were 81-0 when leading by 14 points before boarding de plane, Boss, de plane. Now it's time for leaving Las Vegas. Which may explain why I feel like some Nicholas Cage character this morning.

That's actually Lamar making the decision about half the time. Man, you can't keep this bird in his cage without that door always being wide open. He's by nature a free bird. If you watch Jackson closely you'll see he's dodging hits from other defenders even as he is falling towards the ground being tackled. LJ has incredible body balance and twisty movement skills. He seems to know where everyone is within the striking proximity of his body space.
I agree with you in the common sense angle of it, but otoh it's a football game and being injured at some point happens to the best of them. Even the most fiercely protected QB of all time, Tom Brady, lost a year (2007) due to a severe injury. His backup QB Matt Cassel earned himself some big $$$ as a serviceable replacement. In fact, Matt won just 36 games in the NFL (11 in 2007 for the Pats). Matt parlayed 2007 into $65 million in total career earnings. The lion's share was paid out by the KC Chiefs.
Injuries are unfortunately part of the game, but there is a bright side which allows other player a chance to shine and prosper. I am confident in Lamar Jackson's backup, Tyler Huntley. Some of his teammates have been quoted saying he's better than Lamar but it's not going to be a pleasant moment if/when that occurs.

No, there were to many called runs. You are going to turn him into another cam Newton. I am not a cam Newton fan but I think Ron Rivera destroyed him.

What game were you watching last night? Jackson was pressured on 54% of his drop backs. He had to run more than anyone wished him to, including himself.
The saying around here is "Let Lamar be Lamar." No one here is trying to turn him into Cam Newton. That's a ridiculous statement. Perhaps you're hearing too much from big media "personalities" who want to turn LJ into something he isn't. That happens to be an obsession of the national press and especially true of the NYC press, who love nothing more than fucking up people's heads and destroying other teams best talents with their indoctrination. It's aclassic New York mindset. Way too loud, overly opinionated, with questionable intentions, short sighted.
Well, this is Baltimore, son. We say fuck that noise. Historically, we've usually ignore all those know-it-all bastards, going all the way back to the embodiment of it, Howard Cosell.
Ironically, part of the reason your NY Jets have sucked for so long is rooted in the hatchet jobs the NY press does on them. Whenever the Jets get something positive going, this shitty press corp finds some little thing to pick at just for the sake of it. Rex Ryan dealt with it. It's a sickeningly bad habit. These overbearing sports media worms inside that big rotten apple have desensitized many in the Tri-state to their methodology over the decades. Maybe you are in touch with yourself, but on this particular subject i feel you are echoing all their usual BS. /s

1. The reason the Jets suck is ownership.
2. Ryan who i like committed coaching suicide with the Jets. And no not the toes thing.
3. Cosell was one of the few people who backed Ali, as well as the players unions.
