A final reminder also that all Rushmori nations only (including any and all puppets) will be able to submit their league champions only (or top ranked team in the event of multi-associational leagues of more than one Rushmori nation) for entry into the next CdC; this includes puppet leagues that don't submit to IFCF. The submission period opened when the IFCF closed entries to the last IFCF tournaments, and will close again when the IFCF closes entries to the next IFCF tournaments. No invitations will be sent. You must indicate at the bottom of your league summary that you wish your league champion to take part, and I take no responsibility for missing it if you've only shown it in your table.

Keep your entries coming in for the next edition!

O-LEAGUE : SEASON XIX - PART ONE

The Big Three is dead, long live the free-for-all. Last season's champions Ashton Olympic will have a tough time defending their title, with big spenders Mercia Bromham, perennial contenders Avidia United, walking international player factory Stanton Town and the surely due for a resurrection Ousevale Borough all in the chase. There's also cup kings Casuals Osteria and choke artists Emberton Reds to add to the mix. Time to find out what Season Nineteen has in store...

MATCHDAY 1
The Isserson seems an apt location for the Champions' Kick-Off; Reds fans would probably disagree this season given that it's the visitors who hold the Gabriel Kennedy Trophy. Still, a point against Ashton is nothing to be sniffed at. Ousevale lead the Week One table after a summary dismissal of Oustia; Stanton, meanwhile, leave the Draconium with egg on their faces after failing to launch against newly promoted Caversham.

Results:
FRIDAY (CHAMPIONS' KICK-OFF)
Emberton Reds 1-1 Ashton Olympic

SATURDAY
Casuals Osteria 0-2 Caledon Simpson
Caversham 2-1 Stanton Town
Dereapolis City 1-0 Bradwell Saints
Ousevale Borough 5-1 Oustia
Penniton United 1-1 Bromham City
Royal Emberton 4-1 Avidia City
Sandwell Rangers 2-0 Leston Town

SUNDAY
Avidia United 2-1 CFF Monthuez
Beckton Supermarine 1-1 Mercia Bromham

MATCHDAY 2
Ousevale's stint at the top of the table is short-lived thanks to Andrew Marshall, whose late goal was the difference for Leston to pick up all three points. Ashton and the Reds both pick up six-one wins to boost their goal difference nicely, but it's Avidia United on top courtesy of a shellacking of Bromham City. The other side on six points? Caledon Simpson.

We'll see how long that lasts.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 6-1 Dereapolis City
Avidia City 1-6 Emberton Reds
Beckton Supermarine 2-0 Caversham
Bradwell Saints 1-1 CFF Monthuez
Bromham City 0-4 Avidia United
Caledon Simpson 1-0 Penniton United
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Sandwell Rangers
Oustia 1-2 Casuals Osteria

SUNDAY
Leston Town 2-1 Ousevale Borough
Stanton Town 2-0 Royal Emberton

MATCHDAY 3
Bradwell play spoiler magnificently at the New City Stadium, knocking United right off their perch. Stanton, meanwhile, will be looking enviously at their Abbia Mersa rivals after going down to a Daniel Moulier thunderbolt at the Isserson.

Sunday sees all eyes on the Southern Arena; Ousevale left disappointed, though, as Alan and Alun – that's Maxwell and Belmwr – win the Mercian Classic for the visitors.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia United 2-3 Bradwell Saints
Bromham City 2-2 Caledon Simpson
Casuals Osteria 2-2 Leston Town
CFF Monthuez 0-2 Ashton Olympic
Dereapolis City 1-1 Avidia City
Emberton Reds 1-0 Stanton Town
Royal Emberton 2-0 Beckton Supermarine
Sandwell Rangers 1-0 Caversham

SUNDAY
Ousevale Borough 0-2 Mercia Bromham
Penniton United 0-1 Oustia

MATCHDAY 4
Caledon's unbeaten record explodes In spectacular fashion as the Eagles punish them for the Bradwell debacle. The Reds, meanwhile, go top after annihilating Beckton on their own patch. Don't worry, folks; plenty of time left in the season for them to choke it away.

As for the Sunday games, we're not sure who at TV3 decided that Sandwell v Royal Emberton was the way to go, but whoever they are, they're a bloody genius, as a national audience got to see Rangers rip out the Royals' hearts and dance all over their shocked corpses. Sandwell, by the way, are now one point off top spot.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 1-0 Bradwell Saints
Avidia City 0-2 CFF Monthuez
Beckton Supermarine 0-5 Emberton Reds
Caledon Simpson 0-6 Avidia United
Caversham 1-2 Ousevale Borough
Leston Town 1-0 Penniton United
Oustia 1-0 Bromham City
Stanton Town 1-0 Dereapolis City

SUNDAY
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Casuals Osteria
Sandwell Rangers 5-0 Royal Emberton

MATCHDAY 5
So what happens when the table-toppers meet a team punching so far above their weight it's like Anthony Viklund facing off against the planet Jupiter? Apparently, the answer is “snore draw”. Still, it keeps the Reds top...

...for precisely one day, as Sunday winners Avidia United and Mercia Bromham both overtake them, the latter becoming the new leaders in the process thanks in part to Alun Belmwr's first hat-trick in a navy and white shirt.

Results:
SATURDAY
Bradwell Saints 4-0 Avidia City
Bromham City 1-0 Leston Town
Caledon Simpson 2-1 Oustia
Casuals Osteria 4-0 Caversham
CFF Monthuez 0-2 Stanton Town
Dereapolis City 1-4 Beckton Supermarine
Emberton Reds 0-0 Sandwell Rangers
Ousevale Borough 2-3 Royal Emberton

SUNDAY
Avidia United 1-0 Ashton Olympic
Penniton United 1-5 Mercia Bromham

MATCHDAY 6
Ousevale...what happened, guys? Whatever, James Gabriel doesn't care as he bags the matchball in an absolute embarrassment for the home side at the Southern Arena. Alongside the toothless Tigers on six points, meanwhile, are Caversham, who picked up a useful win at home to a Penniton side who already look doomed.

Sunday, meanwhile, was derby day. Stanton fluffed their lines at home to Bradwell, whilst Mercia beat their cross-city rivals to keep their one-point cushion atop the table.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia City 0-1 Ashton Olympic
Beckton Supermarine 1-1 CFF Monthuez
Caversham 1-0 Penniton United
Leston Town 1-1 Caledon Simpson
Ousevale Borough 1-4 Emberton Reds
Oustia 0-2 Avidia United
Royal Emberton 1-2 Casuals Osteria
Sandwell Rangers 1-1 Dereapolis City

SUNDAY
Mercia Bromham 2-1 Bromham City
Stanton Town 1-1 Bradwell Saints

KFA CUP ROUND ONE
What a difference a season makes. Notegia Rangers started Season 18 with ambitions of an upper-mid-table Prem finish; barely a month and a half into Season 19 and they're in Division One and getting turfed out of the cup by a Salton side bottom of Division Four. Ouch.

Emberton Hibernians can probably relate; heavily favoured for promotion at the start of the season, they're bottom of the pile six games in and have now been turned over five-nil by Adanac City in the cup.

New Cefn Albion 2-1 Tuvera City
Stratford Rovers 0-1 Thackworth Rovers
Buyon 0-1 Ellisham
Sefton Athletic 2-1 Beldon Wanderers
Whitehill Rovers 0-1 Catton Regis
Bletcham Devils 2-0 New Nytton
Adanac City 5-0 Emberton Hibernians
Norton 2-0 Teddington
Twain Valley 0-2 Newley
Camberley Town 0-0 Walton Park

Tyfield City 0-4 CF Avides
Quinton City 2-1 Northwood County
Noton United 0-3 Neathill
Kettledean 2-1 Fenwick Town
Simpson Jesters 2-1 Grafton Town
Locomotive Wolverton 1-0 Burntlea United
Port Victoria 2-0 Blakeland
Aigburth Athletic 1-0 Dynamo Gravea
Salter Athletic 0-2 NSE Kovenham
Ousevale Juniors 3-0 Byrrim
Charnham Town 1-1 Oldbrook (1-1 AET, 3-4 PKs)
Ilham and Welford 1-1 Yraglac Fire (1-1 AET, 1-3 PKs)

Milditch 2-1 Wroxham Trinity
Salton 3-2 Notegia Rangers
Diorville 1-2 Sporting Adanac
Buchinia Academicals 1-1 Prutton (1-1 AET, 5-4 PKs)
Wick Town 2-0 Wittenshaw
Southgate Athletic 1-1 Shruton Town (1-1 AET, 3-4 PKs)
Highfield 1-1 Chesamer (1-1 AET, 5-6 PKs)
Secklow 3-0 Hoxton
Rickenford 2-2 Aylesford (2-2 AET, 3-1 PKs)
Middleton 1-3 Cordell City
Oxley 2-0 Zoderby United

MATCHDAY 7
Caledon Simpson are turning a few heads in the early part of the season, as Mercia found out when they dropped two points at Walton Gardens. Southern rivals Ousevale, meanwhile, were sticking seven past Dereapolis; Will Swords, especially, was in fine fettle, the veteran scoring four past a shell-shocked Matt Duvall.

Not to be outdone, Avidia United matched Ousevale's scoreline against cross-city rivals City to go top of the table, a point above Mercia.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 1-0 Stanton Town
Bradwell Saints 1-3 Beckton Supermarine
Bromham City 0-1 Caversham
Caledon Simpson 2-2 Mercia Bromham
CFF Monthuez 2-1 Sandwell Rangers
Dereapolis City 0-7 Ousevale Borough
Oustia 1-0 Leston Town
Penniton United 1-1 Royal Emberton

SUNDAY
Avidia United 7-0 Avidia City
Casuals Osteria 3-1 Emberton Reds

MATCHDAY 8
Losing seven nil is bad enough. Losing seven-nil two weeks in a row? Go home, Avidia City, you're drunk.

Avidia United, meanwhile, couldn't find a way past a Ross Green inspired Leston defence, and allow both Mercia and the reigning champs to pass them at the top of the table.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 0-2 Ashton Olympic
Casuals Osteria 2-0 Dereapolis City
Caversham 2-1 Caledon Simpson
Emberton Reds 2-0 Penniton United
Leston Town 2-0 Avidia United
Mercia Bromham 3-0 Oustia
Royal Emberton 2-0 Bromham City
Stanton Town 7-0 Avidia City

SUNDAY
Ousevale Borough 1-0 CFF Monthuez
Sandwell Rangers 1-0 Bradwell Saints

MATCHDAY 9
Mercia succeed where United failed, and take all three points from their trip to the southwest. With Ashton laying an egg at home to Sandwell, and the Eagles getting their wings clipped at home to Stanton, it allows Mercia to go three points clear of second placed...Emberton Reds. Huh. Good for them.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 1-1 Sandwell Rangers
Avidia City 0-0 Beckton Supermarine
Bradwell Saints 3-4 Ousevale Borough
Bromham City 1-2 Emberton Reds
CFF Monthuez 0-0 Casuals Osteria
Leston Town 2-4 Mercia Bromham
Oustia 1-1 Caversham
Penniton United 1-1 Dereapolis City

SUNDAY
Avidia United 0-2 Stanton Town
Caledon Simpson 2-1 Royal Emberton

MATCHDAY 10
With the heavyweight clashes taking place on the Sunday, Emberton Reds had the chance to take the limelight – and potentially top spot – with a win over Simpson. Unfortunately, this is the Reds, and they can have no nice things. The Lions stole a point, moving up to seventh in the process, and giving the Midlanders a chance to open up the gap.

Thank Margaret, then, for Avidia United. The Eagles are shooting for the title themselves, and Jésus Cruz's stunning free-kick secured a vital away win. Ousevale, meanwhile, have recovered from their early season wobbles; victory over the reigning champions moves them into the top six.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 0-1 Stanton Town
Casuals Osteria 2-3 Bradwell Saints
Caversham 0-0 Leston Town
Dereapolis City 1-4 Bromham City
Emberton Reds 1-1 Caledon Simpson
Penniton United 1-2 CFF Monthuez
Royal Emberton 1-0 Oustia
Sandwell Rangers 3-2 Avidia City

SUNDAY
Mercia Bromham 1-2 Avidia United
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Ashton Olympic

No major surprise at the top end of the table as Linnameeskond Harseni confirmed their dominance over the league with a back-to-back title. Nonetheless, they must admit that the competition is creeping up on them, led out by Siklapaa who find themselves the bridesmaid for the second year in a row. For those already booing this seeming copy of the previous edition of the Meistriliiga, there was Lokomotiv Kuranki to warm their hearts to. The plucky outfit with good old Marijus Semberas between the sticks astonished the crowd with a stellar opening round and managed to hang on to a Challengers’ Cup ticket after the midseason break, if only over a victory on the last match day against Jagri Paahula. The Hunters remained behind empty handed as Seura Pohkakunti succeeded in overtaking them after that slip-up - a sneaky qualification by the White Kids who saw their first season with Aado Luik at the helm.

Further down the league, we see a few teams that return home empty-handed. Fortes missed the defensive consistency to make an impact, despite showing their prowess internationally. And Legion did not manage to replicate their previous surprise season, as anticipated. The main disappointment might be, however, Kuinopi Club who lost a good defender in Mattias Soomre to San Ortelian Robur Astello, but still should consider it a drama to end up in the second half of the table. Hattrick Zeimgava, on the other hand, will be satisfied with 37 points as the tradition club celebrated its return from the second tier. The other promoted sides had mixed fortunes. Hercules Oupori battled till the final matchday to stay afloat, but a win over Dünamo Tüparu on MD29 appeared to be instrumental to send the latter down, after all. Third promoted side (as the Meistriliiga expanded from 14 to 16) Liepmani FC was not up for the battle and disappeared back to the second tier without making a huge impact.

IFCF Results - Linnameeskond Harseni

(HER) Linnameeskond Harseni 2-3 Lincolnpoole FC (ULG)
(ULG) Lincolnpoole FC 2-0 Linnameeskond Harseni (HER)

After a dominant display in the inaugural Meistriliiga, a competition which roots its heritage in a forgone competition which preceded the Buyanese unification movements, Linnameeskond became the first representative of the isles to partake in the Champions’ League. It must be added that Harseni remain one of only two Herkali sides to ever explore the wondrous world of international football, albeit their adventure in the SBCC ended at the hands of Arrowsmith, the Euran outfit who currently reminisces of their glory days in the cellars of the Silver League.

The focus of the purple and blue lay with prolonging their title, but some ambitions for a proper international result had been whispered within the club. The departure of veteran defender Tommi Puuk to San Ortelian relegation battler SSD Borgonovo had been resolved internally with the promotion of youngster Tarvi Vitsus, whilst striker Leho Nurme joined the selection coming over from Tikhovesii. And it was the newcomer who opened his account with a bang against the Dolphins from Lincolnpoole. The Legandians celebrated their debut in the Champions’ League as well, after having appeared with limited success in both the Challengers’ Cup and the Cup Winners’ Cup. Still, the prior experience from the Legandians showed as they appeared unphased by the opener from Nurme and equalised minutes later on a free kick.

The second half confirmed the image of its counterpart: both sides created their chances without dominating the other and this resulted in a goal at each side. Harseni goalie Knapp, notorious for his infiltrations, got caught in his positioning for the 1-2, but star striker Ings Repas, a dangerous poacher, equalised the score once more. Heading for a draw, it were the visitors who had the last laugh. An organised attack along the wings placed captain and former Blue Hedgehog Steff Palaanen in a difficult situation: as he could not cover both opposing attackers, one remained unmarked. As it goes, it was that one who placed the winning goal behind Erho Knapp - a bit of a cold shower after a more than decent performance.

The visit to Unified Legandia, with the requirement to score at least twice, placed Linnameeskond in a difficult position. The purple and blue are used to playing dominantly, but don't meet the quality of the Dolphins on a weekly basis. After only twenty minutes, Lincolnpoole managed to get in front with a sharp counterattack. After that, the home side had little problem to contain Harseni and left them few opportunities. Only Ings Repas managed to escape his guards once, but the striker saw his equalizer - the potential goal of hope - die on the crossbar. In the final quarter of the match, coach Enn Juurmo directed his troops forwards but this did not do Linnameeskond much good. Lincolnpoole doubled up and could celebrate with their home crowd, Harseni left the field with a harsh lesson learned.

(HER) Linnameeskond Harseni 0-1 CASK Thorsborg (SVJ)
(SVJ) CASK Thorsborg 1-2 Linnameeskond Harseni (HER)

One illusion poorer, Harseni stepped into the Challengers Cup with a fierce task ahead. The only question remaining was which CASK Thorsborg would show up in the Pargi Tsitadell. The home squad rightly feared the domestic powerhouse with five SFS titles in the last decade. CASK, the Army representative, might no longer have the weapon of conscription but with Schottian tactician MacDonald at the helm, they've ensured their spot in the top echelon of Savojar football. However, whilst Admiral Storevik and Libertas Bergheim materialised their domestic muscle in the IFCF, the international scene does not fear Thorsborg yet. Each of the previous seven campaigns so far ended in heartbreak before the group stage and despite two Copa de Campeones semifinals, many fans aspired to see this streak ended. A win in the opening round against Luton City raised their hopes.

After forty-five minutes it appeared that the national military pride and not its international minnow had flown to Herkaluu. Fourteen opportunities to nil and only a monumental performance by Erho Knapp kept the damage limited to a single goal by Jekaterina Smolov. After tea, however, it seemed as if CASK was less inclined to keep the pedal on the metal but a few decent chances were still amassed: Euran star Pickton sent it wide, Smolov found once more Knapp on his way but the best chance was for Wen Xiaohui who dribbled his way into the box before lifting in over the goalie. Yet the crossbar did its bit. Harseni, despite looking sturdier, produced little in return. Ten minutes from the end, however, Leho Nurme suddenly escaped the attention of Anttakari but his shot was too wild to really trouble Thomas Larsen.

Just a single goal between them and if not a single neutral observer understood how, it left Thorsborg in a dangerous position. The Stadium General Erik Harden quickly learned that the hard way when after two minutes, right back Popovich missed his touch, Ings Repas spotted Larsen off his line and everything was to redo for CASK. A nuisance for MacDonald who had rested a few key players and the task to bring electricity in the Savojar side befell Prosdocimi. But Juurmo, wiser after the first leg, had instructed experienced playmaker Timo Veerne to disallow him such a chance. As such, it became a frustrating game for Thorsborg who monopolized the leather but could not do much with it as Linnameeskond successfully constructed a double wall - something which went against their DNA but which they executed with a passion.

Things went from bad to worse for CASK in minute 36. Iljas Seemo, a fast winger positioned as second striker for the occasion preyed upon a long ball, outrunning the Savojar backs. Larsen halted Reemo in his tracks but missed the ball in his manoeuvre, inspiring the ref to a red card. As Veerne converted the penalty coolly against the reserve goalie, CASK suddenly had slipped from an away win to a two-goal deficit. Despite the extra man, Enn Juurmo opted for result over style, with only Repas and Seemo still crossing the halfline. MacDonald, on his behalf, threw in his first string to avoid an affront. One of those, the elegant Nepharim Janna Sauthier, managed to pierce through the siege. It delivered some hope for Thorsborg but down to ten, there was only so much they could do against a side focussed on sealing off the goalmouth. With the final whistle, it became clear that Harseni had treated themselves to a little shock whilst the subpar international streak from Thorsborg earned a painful extra chapter.

(HER) Linnameeskond Harseni 2-1 Cazadores Cathair (AUD)
(AUD) Cazadores Cathair 1-1 Linnameeskond Harseni (HER)

A mix of rejoice and fear filled the hearts of the Harseni fans when the name of ‘Cazadores Cathair’ came out of the draw. The opportunity to cross swords with a grand name in international football is one of the charms of the preliminary rounds in international football, but aware of the difficulties across the previous confrontations, a firm beating looked to be on the books. We would not have dared to say that out loud in the Puerto Commercio of Cathair, but Cazadores of course is not - or not yet - the undisputed household name of international football which their neighbours of 1830 are. Still, this side from the land of the bull has carved out a neat spot in the limelight for themselves already and their performances in the National League confirm them to stay there, challenging city rivals 1830 and Shamrock for glory. On the mantle, one can spot three domestic titles - if only they offered trophies for international finals, that shelf would bow a lot deeper. But a side which played the last game of a Globe Cup, two AOCL’s and a VCI - on top of semis in all major tournaments but the Champions League - it offered a formidable opponent lining up in the Pargi Tsitadell.

Great introduction, marvellous club and… They’ve just posted their worst domestic result since promoting from the second tier. The Challengers’ Cup group stage did mask it a little for the casual bystander, but Linnameeskond crossed the path of a Cazadores hungry to prove their might. A lion which has been hurt and wants to lash out, if you like figures of speech, if that lion first makes a point of shouting all profanity known to man in your face first. Indeed, the biggest star of their history, the one that embodies ‘Caza’ is not RJ Styn, not Sokolov or Zufiaurre, not even golden generation Menheniot and Kuznetsov. Nepharim manager Rook Cathar stood for another season at the helm and potentially his hardest: turn around their slow grind backwards for a renewed attack at the tickets for the competition that really matters. He had done so by selling a fair few of his starters for prices that merely served to insult their prowess - Colvyn, anyone? - whilst whipping out the wallet to pick up hot prospect Rasmus Caracole and starlet Christian Benitez for a neat 25 million.

So yeah, Kuldar Sokk - a 36-year old who assists his wife in their furniture shop during the busy months - had to guard Valladar Benitez, the most expensive player of the last transfer season. The magic of the cup? Or is that the fact that after two minutes, Leho Nurme got in possession, tried a shot from thirty yards out and Juxon Fillar had the debut from a nightmare? By minute four, Theold Bracewell started his warm-up. It must be said that the internal barometer from Rook Cathar took another hit when defender Kuss stopped Creidne Lindauer on the edge of the box - yellow and a free kick, whilst the Brenecian had slid all the way into the six-metres line. The referee who waved away the VAR got an earful from Cathar, Cathar got a better view on the pitch from the first ring of the stands. Not that Pargi Tsitadell has got more than one ring, but you catch our drift. Whilst Cathar burned with fury, his side still seemed to have the heating turned off and with the break looming, Iljas Seemo scored the second important goal of this campaign, sliding past Koranjo to curl it neatly. The second half was… Bizarre. Enn Juurmo had directed his troops to hit everything that moved - ball or not - and the referee considered that a viable technique. Cazadores, on the other hand, considered it unwise to risk their limbs in what had effectively become a hacking squad and opted to salvage the gap with some long-range efforts. Of those, only Giorgio Gucci managed to put it past a top-class Knapp, bringing the gap down to just one goal.

And whilst the result against the minnows from Herkaluu formed a blemish on their blazon, no Cazadores genuinely worried, walking into El Ruedo. After all, a cold, windy evening early on in the preseason can go the wrong way, but with the support of thousands of home fans, there was no way that Linnameeskond could add another upset, right? The game starts the way it was intended: Cazadores monopolize the leather and sole striker Ings Repas chases some desperate kicks into the Audioslavian half. It’s one sided, it’s boring and… Well, it brings in fewer chances than designed by Cathar. On top of all that, Harseni is well-organised and knows very well with which target they came here: hold on. Courageous, but also a bit naive. A shot from Caracole ends on the palms of Knapp, Benitez hits the crossbar but after twenty-eight minutes, the resistance crumbles and the fans sigh in relief: youngster Fransen crosses it from the left and Daineri Aloha tucks it away - it’s goodbye to the dream.

It should’ve been three or four nil by the break, but somehow faith and Knapp decide one is enough for now. After tea, Cathair holds sterile control over the confrontation but the brunt of the storm dies down when Iago Cacho picks up a second yellow for a peccadillo - a professional mistake and a minor push ahead of a corner gives him his marching orders. The Red Lions are not all that bothered and play a kind of rondo game with an excessive amount of increasingly tiring chasers. Amidst it, Aranha hits the outside of the post but a simple win seems to be the order of the day. All well that ends w-. Minute 88. Pass number 785 of the game goes from Saez to Fillar. Number 786 from Fillar back to Saez. Number 787 from Saez to… Well, not Koranjo as intended. Substitute Leho Nurme picks it up and without looking at the target, tries his luck. Juxon Fillar chases it back, touches it with his fingernails but falls into the net - just like the ball. One each and agony. Cazadores doubt between a bit of build-up and just throwing it in front of goal, resulting in hasty crosses and careless passes. Rook Cathar stands in front of his dugout, shouting monosyllables at foghorn volume but even that cannot halt the referee to stop the game after only two minutes of extra time, a bizarre draw on the board. Linnameeskond qualified. Holy shit.

(HER) Linnameeskond Harseni 0-4 AFC Treason (NPH)
(NPH) AFC Treason 0-2 Linnameeskond Harseni (HER)

As a reward for their inexplicable success, Linnameeskond Harseni received an invite from the IFCF to take up the gauntlet - pun very much intended - against AFC Treason. It is difficult to describe the history of AFC in a paragraph, but we might do them at least a bit of justice by calling them the quintessential club of the multiverses most demanding league. No Nepharim side played more international campaigns, no Nepharim side won ten domestic titles. And even if their international silverware is not on par with a few of their rivals, its possession of the regional trophy of two different regions is still fairly unique. Any attempt to list all the stars ever donning the red-and-white hoops would be incomplete and as a consequence, an insult to some of the greatest names in the game. If the third preliminary was a race between a sports car and a moped, then this time Linnameeskond Moped faces a WCGP monster. But, but… They finished only in seventh, you say? It’s the Stags, Johnny. We’re fucked.

More tickets are sold then there are seats in the Pargi Tsitadell for this one - if there is just a glimmer of a chance on another one of those, you want to have been there. Nine minutes in, Vall Nerm launches it in the box and Ings Repas somehow escapes the attention of Sale and puts it past Ramelow! It is a glaring offside but even if Repas completed his whole victory dance before acknowledging that, these were probably the best ten seconds of the game for the masses. From a purple-blue point of view, that is, the puritans got to see the kind of masterclass of football that rarely - as in, never - comes around these quarters. The play hour is over and Treason doesn't play around. It just goes ten miles an hour too fast for Linnameeskond who go back to the dressing room, broken yet somehow only two goals down.

The names of Uster and Robshaw did not remain lonely on the scoring board for too long. The arrival of Morgan Rosenblatt, who left the IFCF-critical Cassadaiguan domestic system behind for a shot at glory in exactly this competition, had been one of the high-profile international moves of the off-season. And the ‘golden girl’ delivered when she sliced through the Harseni back four to aim it out of reach for Knapp. After that, Treason seemed satisfied, preferring to depart Herkaluu without any injuries whilst Linnameeskond mainly focussed to stay out of further trouble. Another newcomer, Silja Jorse, put the final nail in the coffin with the end approaching: 0-4 and quite deserved. The second rubber understandably did not sell out the Gauntlet. Linnameeskond never would be a huge crowd pleaser in the first place and Bittencourt considered it wise to give his stars some extra rest ahead of the inaugural Zenith. As such, the Harseni amateurs saw themselves lined up against a mix of benchwarmers and youth prospects.

Those who seated the fraction of the stadium filled noticed a very eager Basilica Coxeter who wants to make more waves this season, but Knapp and the post refuse to give her the goal she aches for. To the contrary, it’s the blue-and-purple who manage to open the score. Slightly surprisingly, it’s Margus Teder - the working horse of the squadron - who remains calm in a pinball situation in the box, leaving young goalie Pisces fishing for the ball in his net. Whilst it could be expected that the opener strengthens the opposition, Bittencourt frustratingly notices players trying to force the game on their own. Key example in case is Becker, who decides on the goalie with two open teammates in sight. Only Mikkel Jonsson, the Vanorian veteran, gives a bit of composure to the side but even he cannot avoid that Harseni double up via Ings Repas. Harseni shows they make up in grit what they lack in technique. And tactical wit. And class. And money. And a lot of other stuff. But a victory over the Stags still forms a marvellous high note to end a dream campaign on.

IFCF Results - Siklapaa Jalkapallo

(HER) Siklapaa Jalkapallo 1-1 Olastaryn FC (OLA)
(OLA) Olastaryn FC 0-2 Siklapaa Jalkapallo (HER)

The only one of those present in the small yet comfortable stadium of Jalkapallo to have witnessed international football first-hand before was manager Kai Ruutu and he saw how his side, set up in their usual 4-3-3, struggled with the nerves in the opening minutes against Olastaryn FC. No surprise as the latter can count on a vast experience as the hegemon of their domestic competition, having celebrated eight titles in the last ten editions. Internationally, the FC - not to be confused with dire city rival United - has not grown to the same heights but with two Globe Cup group stage editions on their account, it is fair to call them a familiar name in the international second tier. Yet, the IFCF era has not brought them this joy yet and an uncharacteristic domestic defeat to Wolcalt condemned them to this second preliminary round.

As such, this was uncharted territory for them as well in a way, causing a fairly moderate opening half with an abundance of mediocre passes and few good infiltrations. FC had two of those, but goalie Ola Lavonen did not share the chocolate legs of his teammates, ensuring them a goalless draw at tea t-. At least, that's what those commentators vying to warm their hands had written down already. But nothing of the liking of left wing Kjell Nurstrom who tried his luck whilst the ref already ogled his watch. Dribbling past two FC backs, he darted the ball in the furthest corner. With the goal, the second half seemed to erupt and within minutes, we could chalk up more chances than in the whole first half. None of them were successful, but the Siklapaa fans did not seem to mind. The boisterous atmosphere only died down when Olastaryn equalised on a free kick after which both sides seemed content with the scoreline: FC decided to put things straight in their home game whilst the yellow-and-blue had wasted their best efforts.

As such all was still to play for in the Capitol Stadium, a gargantuan structure to the Herkali eyes. Nonetheless, the first shot on goal was for them as Hanni Puolakainen tried it from far out, ricocheted on an opposing leg to roll past a wrongfooted Olastaran goalkeeper. Whilst this ignited doubts in the minds of the favorites, it gave an important glimmer of hope to the men from Ruutu, especially as it took the home team forty minutes to produce a proper reply - a shot that died on the knuckles of Lavonen. With a goal in hand, Siklapaa allowed themselves to play a bit more defensive and cynical, forcing Olastaryn to move more resources forward. Striker Laukki, so far invisible, seemed to enjoy the space which opened up like this, doubling up to silence the crowd. Only in the extra time, Lavonen got in serious trouble but left-back Risto Haavisto saved a ball on the line, ensuring qualification to the next round for Kai Ruutu and his troops.

(HER) Siklapaa Jalkapallo 2-1 Ponyville United (EQS)
(EQS) Ponyville United 3-1 Siklapaa Jalkapallo (HER) (aet)

On to the next round and an even bigger challenge for Siklapaa. With Ponyville United, a legend of Hoofball crosses their path. The ponies have known their ups and downs, but the veterans amongst us will recall the glory days when United formed the most high-profile of Equestrian football clubs, leading the charge on the UICA ranks with Cloudsdale and Canterlot in their trail. It resulted in a formidable eight group stage appearances, most in the Globe Cup, making them a household name in the international setup a few decades back. However, the (s)tables have turned for them and in recent years, sides such as Chrystal Fair or Freeport United make more waves, leaving Ponyville stuck in the early preliminary rounds. These have not always been equally kind to them, with minnows such as Kolwezi City, Negus Koromanti or Djalenga Foot axing them out of the competition. Yet, the group stage appearance three years ago gave a glimmer of what could be, so Ponyville kicked off this confrontation with hope - helped by a clear victory over Thehampton FC before.

Jalkapallo started mature and composed, making it difficult for an opponent with said stature to find a hole in the back line. Defensive duo Heino Nieminen and newcomer Egidio Rollo showed skill, despite the technical novelty of an interspecies competition. Furthermore, they even managed to put some pressure on the United goal which resulted in a Tarmo Lindal opener when the striker made a little space for himself at the edge of the box. Visibly a bit out of their regular approach by this unanticipated goal, Ponyville tried to focus on crosses towards the box but Rollo - a Robur Astello bencher in his homeland San Ortelio - had a blast of a debut whilst Ola Lavonen stood his ground on a dangerous free kick. Much to the amusement of the packed stadium, the score even doubled with half-time approaching as Antero Ilves went all or nothing from a distance. It could have been one for the parking lot but this time, it neatly ended in a bottom corner despite the goalie getting a hoof on it. For the remainder of the game, possession stayed with Ponyville but they struggled to materialize that into goals. Kai Ruutu almost signed a flawless score for his squad when, in the extra time, a cross finally found the wrong head and Lavonen was left beaten.

The visit to the Elements Stadium provided some heartwarming flashbacks for Siklapaa, who hoped to confirm their prowess when under pressure from the previous round. Fact was that Ponyville was not going to get this one for free: throughout the opening half, rough midfield football was seen with a referee not too eager to break up this horseplaying. All in all, this played in the advantage of the visitors who could live with a goalless draw. Alas, in minute 54 United broke through and tilted the chances. Now it was Siklapaa that needed to fight back and that appeared a difficult task. Fortunately, trademark poacher Joonas Laukki pops up on moments like this, scoring with his third touch of the match - not his prettiest one, but potentially his most important. Ponyville returned in the attack but the absence of a Fire Dash in their frontline looked costly with a number of chances spoiled. Still, with the crowd against them, the Siklapaa players started to panic. In the end, it was Nieminen who cracked when he tried to tackle three opposing legs at once in the box. The penalty went in and with ten, Jalkapallo was no match for Ponyville United in the extra time.

IFCF Results - Fortes Avikehti

(HER) Fortes Avikehti 2-0 Olympique de Rimouski (QUE)
(QUE) Olympique de Rimouski 3-2 Fortes Avikehti (HER)

The history of Quebecois international football is rich and diverse, even if their return to the UICA/IFCF is fairly recent. Yet, the domestic statisticians insisted that both parties aligned at the Nerdurhallen were equally inexperienced at the moment of kick-off. Whether their tendency to class Cup Winners’ Cup duels - of which Olympique got a taste two years ago - separately from other IFCF games was just a way to motivate the Fortes team needs to be discussed, but it remains a fact that Avikehti took up the glove without any complexes. The number four of the latest edition of the Q-League looked to be still in full pre-season swing and the light drizzle that ruined the already notoriously poor pitch of Fortes did not add to their mood. For Avikehti, a side that slightly punched above their weight already last season, the strong domestic start with three wins in four games seemed to give them wings. After only fourteen minutes, 36-year old striker Matti Seistola - the absolute fan favourite after a decade and a half of goals - lifted the ball over the goalie of the Piques to bring his side in front.

Rimouski appeared shaken, but not beaten. It was clear that this early in the season, they were still trying to integrate Johannes Mandl, the Teuslandian striker. After a decade with Felsenkirchen, the towering forward understandably still missed that same connection with his new teammates and although they continuously loomed at the half of Fortes, no great danger was created. The best opportunity in the opening half turned out to be a long-range effort by Smolkine, but the fists from Tommi Otronen kept the scoreline in the advantage of Avikehti. By then, the drizzle had evolved into a genuine downpouring, disallowing any technical football. The kick-and-rush which resulted allowed them to search the tall Mandl through the air, but central defender Ako Limonen did a stellar job in keeping him on a leash. Just once Mandl escaped and set all alarms blazing but his attempt died on the post, as did the victory hopes for the Big O. To add injury to insult, it was Fortes who doubled up: a corner kick floated across both posts and found diminutive winger Alvar Viitanen, who managed to slam it in with one marvellous touch.

Lots of work on the shelf for Big O in their home game. The Steelyard nearly sold out with about eighteen thousand tickets, a record attendance for a Fortes Avikehti game for sure. This setting formed a less colloquial feeling for the Windhounds and it also appeared that Johannes Mandl had made good use of the intermittent week - with a powerful header he opened the scoreboard. A minute later the green-and-yellow almost wiped the first leg of the scoresheet but the referee ruled the assist for the Vehronen own goal to be offside. It pleads in the advantage of Fortes that they did not succumb to the pressure and after the storm of the opening half hour, they still were virtually qualified for the next round. Rimouski released their grip and Fortes profited immediately: Erik Aalho got in front of Ko-orenite defender Buthoningun to slide in that all-important away goal - Olympique was left with three goals to score and only a single half of football to do it.

Coming out of the dressing room vigorously, the Piques still believed in this target and the 2-1 was a matter of minutes. A long ball was cleverly passed aside by Mandl to the running player and Ashoona left Otronen without a chance. With the pressure accumulating, Fortes folded back to a 5-4-1 and even if that meant they rarely saw the far side of the Steelyard anymore, it did run down the clock without Rimouski finding a hole in the defense line. The Quebecois needed to resort to long-distance efforts, the best one from Smolkine again who saw his shot go wide by a few inches. The surprise from the plucky underdogs - pun intended - seemed to be checked when three minutes ahead of the ninety mark, Johannes Mandl showcased why Rimouski broke their generally frugal transfer policy over him. Chesting a cross, keeping off both Limonen and Vehronen and then slotting it in the nearest corner. In their enthusiasm, the Piques launched a final offense but it did not result in success - to the contrary. Youngster Eevertti Pentila slipped through the offside trap and decided on the final score: Fortes progress against all expectations…

(HER) Fortes Avikehti 0-4 Jinja City FC (BNJ)
(BNJ) Jinja City FC 0-1 Fortes Avikehti (HER)

… And saw themselves rewarded with one of the fiercest opponents in the draw. Fortes lined up against Jinja City, a side starting what might be their most important season in recent history. A former Banijan domestic powerhouse, their might has slipped since reaching the inaugural Champions League group stage. Seeing themselves hinging on Yol and Ercetin, players who slowly fell over the tipping point of thirty, Jinja City woke up one morning and noticed that they were meagre middle of the pack in the brand-new Shango Fogoa Premier League. An affront for a club their size and they did what every self-respecting top club would do: splash that cash during the off-season. And so these duels would be one of the first occasions to see the new crop of the Black Mamba’s, but the elimination of AS Plourafel in the first round showed that the first automatisms were already popping up.

Of the offensive compartment from Jinja that made their appearance in the first leg, only Madison McClain, the Cassadaiguan forward, had been in their shirt last season. But that did not stop them from wreaking havoc. The pitch from I Vaata still looked muddy after the confrontation with Rimouski but whilst the Quebecois remained stuck in it, the Banijans took to it like a fish to water. After only a few minutes, a combination ended up with Casimir Ronayne and the Nepharim winger lashed out, leaving Otronen without a chance. By the twenty minute mark, two more scores had flown past the hapless goalie. Youngster Heike Schoss opened her account with a long-distance effort whilst McClain underlined she was here to stay with a cheeky header. Avikehti had little to reply: the first shot on goal from Seistola only got produced another fifteen minutes later, an easy catch for Iiro Pakanen. With the end result already crystal clear, Jinja City refrained from pressing much further but that didn’t stop Farf newcomer Esàsè from running up the score through a nice backheel touch. Fortes had been weighed and there was no doubt that they fell too light.

The trip to BCEL Stadium was with this opening leg nothing more than an administrative affair. Jinja City obviously could not sell out for the visit from some Herkali amateurs and some local youngsters got their opportunity to prove their value for the coach. It resulted in a Jinja City which showed flashes of their might, but could not produce the same stranglehold on the game as in the opener. Juka Jarju made some heads turn with his performance, but the young striker missed a little bit of aim to open the scoreline. Fortes Avikehti tried to show a thing or two themselves, but coming off a painful one out of nine series in the Meistriliiga themselves, there was lacking confidence in the offensive department. Erik Aalho missed the best opportunity for ‘the Strong Ones’ when he skyed a shot from up close, leaving Mamadi Thiaw fairly unimpressed. We can only hope that the Jinja fans got this game as part of their season card, as it died down a little in the second half. Their Pasargan gaffer and former World Cup icon Czaczar rightly considered this as a training match, whilst Fortes mainly tried to get away with a cheeky draw. They even got more than they aimed for when 19-year old substitute Jori Repo got a dream debut, deviating a mean cross from Korpela past Thiaw. It ensured a thrilling last ten minutes, with Jinja City storming the goal from Otronen but the best chance from Baker Park’s hotshot Junior Ngoba ended up on the crossbar.

IFCF Results - Legion Tikhovesi

(HER) Legion Tikhovesi 0–1 FC Squidroidia Squidbreak (SQR)
(SQR) FC Squidroidia Squidbreak 3-0 Legion Tikhovesi (HER)

Legion Tikhovesi had been the surprise package of the inaugural season. Many had even considered the squad from the more rugby focussed city - the infamous RK once dominated the RUCT Seasogs - to be a wildcard for the relegation, having always operated in the shadows of town rival BuRa. Nonetheless, Legion parked themselves in fourth and could welcome FC Squidroidia Squidbreak, a side entering their third international adventure. Had the fourth spot in the domestic table represented a high for Tikhovesi, then it stood for a low for the visitors. Squidbreak is, after all, an army team that can rely on the military duty of young Squids to pluck promising players from an endless conveyor belt. A methodology that might not have earned them much love and praise from the surrounding teams, not in the least Inkopolis, but that does not make the title two years ago less valuable for the more sportive amongst the military.

Going by the pregame expectations, Squidroidia clearly came to a packed Samlstadi - indeed, the rugby pitch with its eight thousand seats had been cleared for the occasion rather than the very own Vapauden Aukio - with the ambition for victory. Yet the game started with a touching memorial for Jarno Nurvesniemi, former Legion winger and war hero who passed away in battle day-to-day five years ago. It seemed to inspire both sides to a ceasefire, with no shots fired between the stakes in the first forty-five minutes. But even an army side means business at a certain point and suddenly, goalie Roope Mäkinen got overwhelmed with work. The first few attempts were fended off but when Charlie Colbert made room for himself by dribbling past Jarvinen, the opener could not be avoided. Tikhovesi had little to show in return: Eerik Koivu launched a rocket wide and Tuukka Meura saw his effort hit the bar… of the rugby goal. All in all, 0-1 was a flattered result, giving Legion a shot for the return leg.

That bit of hope quickly got shot down in the Squidroidia Armed Forces Park. Four minutes in, FC defender Moronobu towered over Helminen to put the opener in the net and by the time Legion had regained consciousness, they were punched down again by another strike from the army club. All in all, this looked like an unbalanced affair. Legion had indeed struggled to confirm upon last season already and even the enthusiastic approach from coach Evald Aavik didn’t help them forward much. It did result in two proper chances but the shot from Koivu went over and when Juka Sairanen managed to get his head against a corner kick, there was Shunko to wipe it off the line. The latter effort, in the start of the second half, became the last opportunity for Legion Tikhovesi to turn the tables. Quickly after, the 3-0 was a fact and there was no way Squidbreak was going to let Legion get back in this one. Or was there? No. There wasn’t. End of the road for Tikhovesi and a genuine fear they will not be seen back at the international stage anytime soon.

Linnameeskond Harseni (HER) 0-1 Ogroven Vanguardi FK (ZRH)

Evidently psyched by their consistent quality performances in the IFCF, Linnameeskond started this campaign with a packed Pargi Tsitadell and confidence in abundance. The visitors from South Newlandia were not completely underestimated - their meteoric rise from the second tier to a heartbreak loss for the national title in just a single year has not gone by unnoticed - but Juurmo opted to let his squad play freely. In the opening phase, this resulted in an entertaining duel with the leather hitting the net twice. Brandon Avea, the Tikariotian sensation from the purple-and-gold, nodded the opener past Knapp but Timo Veerne replied with an annoying sliced free kick that slid past everyone, including goalkeeper Varney. All to play for in the second half but it quickly became clear the Grearish player-manager Allman had used his time wisest. By pushing Craft up front, the duo Palaanen/Vitsus in the core of the Harseni defence got caught out. A slip up from the youngster of the duo saw Murphtannian Saunders score and a goal from Bois-Miller followed quickly after. Repas missed the chance that could bring Linnameeskond back in the match, so Islanders steamed on, with Hn and Avea wrapping up a painful final score for the home side.

One would almost assume that lessons were learned and it was a far less attacking Linnameeskond that visited the (takes breath) Vanguardi i Federativna Teret Kompanija Stadion for the second encounter. Still, a minor gaffe from Erho Knapp allowed Amador to open the scoreline after three minutes. The remainder of the first half was the Jess Kijanskas show. It had been the goals from the Brenecian star striker that had pushed Vanguardi FK to their best league result (2nd) and now they dealt with Harseni as well: a pure class hattrick. With the pressure off, Harseni tried to make it less shameful after tea and with a satisfied opponent, opportunities arose. Iljas Seemo, the fast winger with the nimble feet, got a long-distance shot behind Emerjade Mercer and an own-goal from Igoric on a sharp corner kick brought the score back to 4-2. But coach Stanimiric remained unphased, offered youngster Jorowic some minutes and the winger placed the final score on the board. With ten goals against after 180 minutes, Linnameeskond looked on their way to become the laughing stock of this Campionato group.

The home confrontation against New Llama Capitals gave ‘Linna’ a chance to correct that image a little bit. It must be said that the blue-and-silver might still be a frontrunner in the SuperLleague, but have lost their momentum on the international scene. A good decade ago, they popped up on the scene, moving up in the world and reaching both the CEdC semi-finals and the Globe Cup group phase twice. The current Capitals dreamed of players such as Candelario these days, but their win at the Islanders showed Harseni wouldn’t be up for an easy task. Enn Juurmo opted for the defensive variation of his tactics, with Seemo as second striker and Nurme as supersub. And this paid off handsomely. After a strong start from the Capitals, Linnameeskond could strike back and Vall Nerm opened his account. One goal up, Harseni could lean back and let New Llama storm the barricades, before wrapping up the story through a fast Nurme counterattack.

A nice result, but a story that couldn’t be repeated again in Super-Llamaland, the press believed. They were wrong. New Llama, the pressure of the multiple domestic titles upon them, knew that victory was a minimum requirement in Tyler Rocke. Despite being a local powerhouse, Harseni understood their role very well, falling back to the own half and profiting of the available space. Opting for speed over class, Ings Repas got benched for Seemo and Nurme but no one blamed Enn Juurmo after the game as it was this exact duo that assisted and scored one goal each in the first half. The Capitals seemed on their way to a comeback story but after the 1-2, the gaps in the back only widened: Leho Nurme profited again and on his way to a hattrick, he got tackled again allowing captain Veerne to put 1-4 on the board. Yet New Llama fought on, scored a goal but saw the goal of the hope denied by Steff Palaanen who tackled it off the line. Spectacular victory for Harseni and suddenly they’re back in the race.

The clash with the Islanders, currently sponsored by the energy drink which not only baptised the stadium but also the club to Kinetik, had the potential for a decisive game. Linnameeskond replied by choosing a cautious approach on the road, yet after only nine minutes, they got more than they bargained for. On a corner kick, the strong Magnus Teeder won a handsy duel with Grearish Callum Frank and headed it past Varney, despite protests from everyone in gold and purple. The start of a nervous game for the thirteen thousand fans, who saw their side dominate possession but struggle to translate that in full-on opportunities. Jack Craft, the… well, crafty midfielder earned a good one, but Knapp stood strong. With ten minutes on the clock, Brandon Avea showed why he is such a key player for this side when he slid in a sharp cross from Tadataka. Islanders tried but Knapp denied them more than one point, causing both sides to go into the final game with seven points each.

The chances for qualification would have to be defender in the own Pargi Tsitadell or rather, would have to be attacked. With an already qualified Ogroven, Stanimiric did not hesitate to offer a few second string players some game time but there is a reason why it took reputed sides such as Mar Sara FC and Ephesian FC to stop them from a long trajectory in the IFCF. Even without a few starters, Vanguardi managed to earn the better chances in the opening half. Neermo tried to let his side play dominant but it became clear that Timo Veerne lacked the speed and his teammates the technique to ensure fast attacks on the mouth guarded by Vanguardi goalie Mercer. Even more, it were the visitors who got the ball in. A neat rush from du Mesnil along the right wing was crossed long to a free Amador. Instead of banging it in, he kept an open view to see the infiltrating Rosenstiel who scored the sole goal of the game. No reply came or at least not soon. The last part of the game saw some clinical danger, but Repas, Nurme and youngster Finn Eglas saw their attempts halted. Linnameeskond see their adventure end here after a bittersweet campaign.

The presence of the Hunters at the international scene formed in itself already a surprise. Known domestically as solid, but little more, they managed to grind themselves to fifth with a fairly defensive approach - is it a surprise that gaffer Vilhjelmi Lahti is a former goalkeeper? For their debut, Jagri visited Boring Paradise for an encounter against Bartholomew FC. A club which might not have the most elusive name, but is a participant with a long track record in the UICA and the CEdC alike. This experience stood out, confirmed by the ease with which they survived a small wave of attacks. Only Risjard Puhvel saw his shot go in already but it ended just wide. Minutes later, FC club hero Sameer Jaklim Jr showed the importance of efficiency with a clever header that left Hannes Rebane lost for a reply. Well organized, Bartholomew came closer to a second than Paahula to an equaliser. A decent attempt from Eino Piip worried the home side but only barely, Jagri left a lesson wiser.

And they applied this lesson with caution against their first visitors in the Kelgokoer Arena, being Hallikshire representatives Mytrayon. This club witnessed a meteoric rise this season as evidenced by their jump from the LBCT to the Challenge Cup, but Jagri looked solid. Defence leader Erki Nurmsalu had an impeccable game, marking his man so solidly we barely caught his name. The first half remained with few chances, a slight disappointment for the four thousand home fans who had overcome a blistering cold wind. But the second half compensated this when Timmo Laas set up a fast action along the left wing before finding Mikk Laas unmarked at the second post - a tap-in for the striker. Forcing their opponent to strike back, more space opened up. Olari Korjus wasted a fine chance over being a bit too hasty in his finishing, so it wasn't but in the very end that a Puhvel goal acquired Jagri peace of mind.

On to the third opponent of Paahula and Xannerian Hawthorne Kickers had not made the trip to wait around. The club from the FLOX Omega Division are known for their mixed fortunes, with two titles runs punctuated by mid table performances. Yet, today they showed their true face. After only three minutes, Max Wilkinson made some space for himself and scored with a scorching shot in the top corner. As Berro Larraza, the Astograthian stronghold in midfield, doubled up soon after, the Hunters knew they were up for a tough night. The third goal just before the break removed all doubt, but also allowed Kickers to release the pressure a bit. Timmo Laurits, the holding midfielder, tried his luck from far out but Kulap Erer got a fingernail to it. On the rebound, Laas was just a little faster than Matsumoto but as the 1-4 followed soon after, the end result was never in doubt.

The return leg of this fixture was just a week later in Richmond Avenue Bowl, the fortress of the Kickers - and that's quite literal. Despite a furious start, Laas nor Piip got the leather past Squornshelous goalkeeper Kulap Erer, the man behind the successful title run last season. Their Challenge Cup had been cut short by Herzegovina City - no shame in that - so the ambition in the CEdC was high. But for this, Kickers knew that not losing was more important than winning: in case of a victory for Jagri, the Herkali side overtook them by a point with just two games left. Paahula tried to find a hole in the wall but attempts at distance from Korjus and Laurits did not worry them. After the break, Jagri ran out of steam and even had to thank Rebane for holding on to a point…

And a fighting chance for the next round. But that would require points at home versus Bartholomew FC, the toughest side in the group. An opener from Johnnie Quigley made clear how hard that would be but Jagri fought back. The champion from the binational Super League came out of a proper IFCF run which saw them stranded against Myana, an understandable faith but Risjard Puhvel did not look shocked. The stocky striker launched a rocket that disappeared in a bottom corner. The odds might have swung in their favor but the Kelgokoer Arena could not rejoice as left-back Kaur Mets saw his attempt splinter the crossbar. In the last half hour, stamina appeared more decisive and FCB simply had more of that in store. A marvellous solo from Jaklim Jr and a free kick from Jiyaad Gracie signed their faith, Jagri Paahula were effectively eliminated after five games.

The visit to the city of Yhens formed as such the backdrop for a dead rubber. The runner-up from the Liga Hallarina looked slightly more motivated to make this a show, opening the score near the fifteen minute mark with an acrobatic volley that left Hannes Rebane without a chance. Lahti tried to turn things around, moving his pawns forward but to little avail: only Olari Korjus managed to pierce the Mytraton defense line, but his best effort ended at the wrong side of the net. All in all, Jagri Paahula can look back at a decent inaugural appearance but in this game, the main issues were crystal clear as well: only two players capable of hitting the net and an incapacity to really crack the lock of opposing defences, especially on the road. It makes them crash out early, but the group might return with lessons learned.

Procedural Notes
  • Following the lead of the IFCF, all late entries were accepted.
  • FFI functionaries have noticed many variations on the FFI acronym, presumably multilingual. This will be addressed this coming cycle in discussion with FFI members. In the meantime we have made an effort to include all entrants, regardless of submission format, but we apologize if we have missed any entries.
  • Next cycle's deadline will once again be the same as the IFCF's.

Two bids were received to host the Taça das Confederações: Merle Park in Alden, Zwangzug, and Cheyenne Loop Tech Stadium in Neo-Futurist Wyoming. FFI officials held an oracle bone reading to make their final decision and when a coyote came along and ran off with the bones they took it as a sign to award hosting rights to Neo-Futurist Wyoming. Thus the final will be held in Cheyenne Loop Tech Stadium.

NS Stats are sometimes right, but sometimes wrong. TG me if you have questions, but the most important thing to know is that Lorrana is capitalist, even though the stats show otherwise

The 32nd Campionato Esportivano di Campeones
THE LEAGUE OF ESPORTIVAN CHAMPIONS

Entrants / Group Stage Draw

Procedural Notes:
  • Scorination duties are now shared between The Grearish Union and South Newlandia.
  • There were no additional entries. As such, the entrant list from this post stands.
  • As there were 32 entrants, there was no need for a preliminary round.
  • Teams will compete in 8 groups of 4, with the top two from each group advancing to the Round of 16.
Usually, the CEdC rankings would partially be based on recent CEdC results. As those do not currently exist, rankings are based on the current IFCF rankings of teams. For more information, please message Damukuni.

O-LEAGUE : SEASON XIX - PART TWO

MATCHDAY 11
Avidia City may still be looking for their first win of the season, but there's still plenty of fight in the old dog yet, as they proved against Ousevale. Despite going down early to an Olly Burns strike, City never gave up, and took a deserved point when Lee Snijder equalised in stoppage time. They're still eight points from safety, though.

At the other end, Mercia and Avidia United both won comfortably, whilst Emberton Reds did what they do best and dropped points against a struggler (this week, it's Oustia). Sunday's big game, meanwhile, saw Casuals remind the country that yes, they are a force to be reckoned with. Four goals and three points at the Rutian Grounds will do very nicely for the Miners, thanks.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia City 1-1 Ousevale Borough
Avidia United 4-1 Beckton Supermarine
Bradwell Saints 0-1 Penniton United
Bromham City 1-0 CFF Monthuez
Caledon Simpson 3-0 Dereapolis City
Mercia Bromham 3-1 Caversham
Oustia 3-3 Emberton Reds
Stanton Town 2-0 Sandwell Rangers

SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 2-4 Casuals Osteria
Leston Town 0-2 Royal Emberton

MATCHDAY 12
Sandwell may not be the most glamorous team in the Prem, but they have turned South Road into an absolute fortress. Indeed, if only home points counted, Rangers would be top of the table. Unfortunately for them, their undefeated home record went for a burton as they went down three-one to the Mariners.

Meanwhile, at the top, United and Mercia both kept up the pace by trading wins, whilst Casuals are coming up all sneaky-like on the rails, moving up to fourth courtesy of a Stephen Jansen masterclass at home to Avidia City.

Results:
SATURDAY
Bromham City 0-1 Bradwell Saints
Casuals Osteria 3-1 Avidia City
Caversham 2-3 Avidia United
CFF Monthuez 1-2 Caledon Simpson
Dereapolis City 1-1 Oustia
Emberton Reds 1-1 Leston Town
Penniton United 1-1 Ashton Olympic
Sandwell Rangers 1-3 Beckton Supermarine

SUNDAY
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Stanton Town
Royal Emberton 0-2 Mercia Bromham

KFA CUP ROUND TWO
Last season, Stanton were embarrassed in Round Two and Casuals went on to lift the trophy. Neither of those things will be happening in this season's cup, though, as the Dockers took down the holders at Coalfields.

They're not the only ones, mind; Ousevale went out to a doughty Caversham side in a shoot-out, whilst Caledon Simpson were played off the park by Division One outfit CF Avides. Royal Emberton almost joined them on the scrapheap, with Newport holding them over ninety minutes, but the Premier side managed to finish the job in extra time to go into the draw for the last thirty-two.

AFC Linford 1-1 Kallia United (1-2 AET)
Aigburth Athletic 1-2 Adanac City

Walton Park 0-1 Sporting Adanac
Westleigh Athletic 2-0 Salton
Wylon United 0-1 Thackworth Rovers
Yraglac Fire 3-2 Penniton United

MATCHDAY 13
Leaders Mercia have got some questions to answer. They had no answer for the Moulier and Rix show as the Reds ran roughshod over the home side at the Cygnus.

Could second-placed United make up the ground? Could they heck as like. It's Sandwell Rangers again proving the spoiler, Alex Silva scoring the equaliser to prevent the Eagles from soaring to the top of the table.

Finally, Samuel Dee must be sick of the sight of Stanton at this point; fresh from knocking the Miners out of the KFA Cup, Paul James' charges took three points off the men in blue and amber in the league.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 7-0 Bromham City
Avidia City 1-0 Penniton United
Beckton Supermarine 0-1 Ousevale Borough
Caledon Simpson 2-1 Bradwell Saints
Caversham 2-1 Royal Emberton
Mercia Bromham 1-3 Emberton Reds
Oustia 1-1 CFF Monthuez
Stanton Town 2-0 Casuals Osteria

SUNDAY
Avidia United 2-2 Sandwell Rangers
Leston Town 1-1 Dereapolis City

MATCHDAY 14
And now it's time for everybody's favourite weekend gameshow...Who Wants To Choke Harder?

Mercia, who hadn't lost any of their previous home matches, go down by the odd goal in seven to...Dereapolis “Relegation Zone” City. Still, could be worse; they may have conceded four, but unlike Avidia United, they at least managed to score. Roberto Garcia bay be off a few greetings card lists in the Vale.

Ousevale, meanwhile, manage to not slip up against walking spoilers Sandwell, and move into third, whilst on Sunday the Reds do what they do best and squander a chance to go top. Casuals' win, meanwhile, moves them up to sixth, three points off the summit; indeed, the top eight are all separated by just four points.

Results:
SATURDAY
Bradwell Saints 2-1 Oustia
Bromham City 4-1 Avidia City
Caledon Simpson 1-3 Ashton Olympic
CFF Monthuez 0-1 Leston Town
Dereapolis City 4-3 Mercia Bromham
Ousevale Borough 3-2 Sandwell Rangers
Penniton United 1-0 Stanton Town
Royal Emberton 4-0 Avidia United

SUNDAY
Casuals Osteria 3-1 Beckton Supermarine
Emberton Reds 1-1 Caversham

MATCHDAY 15
There are some weekends where everything just goes your way. Mercia had one of those weekends. Giving Monthuez a good thrashing was just the start; while that was happening, Ashton were busy drawing a blank up north, leaving them four points behind the Midlanders.

And then Sunday happened. The Reds couldn't hit a cow's jacksie with a banjo in the Emberton derby, whilst Avidia United and Ousevale shared six between them to give Mercia a three point cushion atop the table.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia City 2-2 Caledon Simpson
Beckton Supermarine 3-0 Penniton United
Caversham 2-0 Dereapolis City
Leston Town 1-2 Bradwell Saints
Mercia Bromham 4-0 CFF Monthuez
Oustia 0-0 Ashton Olympic
Sandwell Rangers 0-3 Casuals Osteria
Stanton Town 2-0 Bromham City

SUNDAY
Avidia United 3-3 Ousevale Borough
Royal Emberton 0-0 Emberton Reds

MATCHDAY 16
So...that happened.

Bradwell Saints decide that Mercia running away with the title is not the one, and Tammy Lincoln's goal blows the title race wide open. Casuals duly oblige, taking all three points against an Ousevale side also aiming for top spot, with Stanton also closing up on the leaders with victory at Walton Gardens.

It's the Eagles, though, who are now perched atop the table after they dealt the Reds' title chances a bitter blow at the Isserson. Ashton's Sunday win in the West Mercia derby, meanwhile, means that there's now all of one point between first and fifth.

Results:
SATURDAY
Bradwell Saints 1-0 Mercia Bromham
Bromham City 0-1 Beckton Supermarine
Caledon Simpson 0-2 Stanton Town
Casuals Osteria 2-0 Ousevale Borough
CFF Monthuez 1-1 Caversham
Dereapolis City 1-4 Royal Emberton
Oustia 1-0 Avidia City
Penniton United 1-1 Sandwell Rangers

SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 3-1 Leston Town
Emberton Reds 0-3 Avidia United

MATCHDAY 17
With the Sunday games pitting first against third, and second against fourth, Saturday almost felt like an afterthought before the event, contradiction in terms though that is. Still, it gave some of the less heralded names a day in the sun, with mid-table Beckton and wobbling Emberton Reds side both hitting four, a Leston side closer to the drop zone than they'd like piling more misery on City, and the Royals beating Monthuez so hard they should be charged with GBH. In all that, Stanton's win puts them top overnight.

On, then, to Super Sunday. Erstwhile leaders United and third-placed Casuals share the points – keeping them both a point behind the Dockers – before Torvern Pinderhand's header secured three points, and first place in the league on goals scored, at the Cygnus. Mercia, by the way, have gone from three points clear to fifth place in the space of two weeks. Fun times for Stephen Crozier, hoping not to be the third boss to leave the stripey half of Bromham in as many seasons.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 4-0 Caledon Simpson
Caversham 1-1 Bradwell Saints
Emberton Reds 4-0 Dereapolis City
Leston Town 5-2 Avidia City
Ousevale Borough 3-1 Penniton United
Royal Emberton 6-1 CFF Monthuez
Sandwell Rangers 1-1 Bromham City
Stanton Town 2-0 Oustia

SUNDAY
Avidia United 3-3 Casuals Osteria
Mercia Bromham 1-2 Ashton Olympic

MATCHDAY 18
Avidia City may be rock bottom, with only a single win to their name, but at least they're trying. Putting four past Mercia was certainly a statement of intent; sadly for the team from the Second City, they shipped a half-dozen at the other end. It didn't mean that much for the men from Bromham, either, as the rest of the top six all won. Alex Vinelli's goal for Ashton on Sunday, by the way, was enough to upgrade Ashton's lead at the top from goals scored to goal difference, so there's that.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia City 4-6 Mercia Bromham
Bromham City 1-2 Ousevale Borough
Caledon Simpson 0-0 Sandwell Rangers
CFF Monthuez 1-6 Emberton Reds
Dereapolis City 0-5 Avidia United
Leston Town 1-2 Stanton Town
Oustia 1-1 Beckton Supermarine
Penniton United 2-3 Casuals Osteria

SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 3-1 Caversham
Bradwell Saints 2-2 Royal Emberton

KFA CUP ROUND THREE
Repeat after me: Llanwrthypwllcwl. Or Thackworth, to give it the name the Saesnegs call it. Whichever way you slice it, the Druidan town is absolutely buzzing after Rovers went to the New City Stadium and dumped the Eagles out of the cup. It was a round, if we're honest, rather short of shocks – Thackworth notwithstanding – though Reds fans will be breathing a sigh of relief after needing penalties to knock out Adanac's second best club.

Adanac City 0-0 Chesamer (0-0 AET, 2-3 PKs)
Avidia United 1-2 Thackworth Rovers
Bletcham Devils 1-1 CF Avides (1-1 AET, 5-4 PKs)
Catton Regis 0-2 Norton
Caversham 2-0 Bromham City
CFF Monthuez 1-1 Ashton Olympic (1-2 AET)
Dereapolis City 2-0 Kallia United
Faversham Town 2-2 Ousevale Juniors (2-2 AET, 5-3 PKs)
Leston Town 5-0 Locomotive Wolverton
Milditch 0-3 Oustia
New Cefn Albion 1-1 Stanton Town (1-2 AET)
Royal Emberton 0-0 Mercia Bromham (0-0 AET, 2-4 PKs)
Sporting Adanac 2-2 Emberton Reds (2-2 AET, 2-3 PKs)
Valque United 0-2 Avidia City
Westleigh Athletic 1-0 Quinton City
Yraglac Fire 1-3 Bradwell Saints

MATCHDAY 19
Avidia City, it would appear, are not dead yet. Despite only having won once this season before this weekend, City aren't quite ready to drop into the abyss, fighting back from three-one down to take a vital win at the Draconium Arena that leaves them just four points this season.

Sunday, meanwhile, saw three title contenders in action. Ashton started the weekend in top spot, but their draw with the Royals, whilst entertaining for the neutrals, saw them drop to fourth. Stanton took full advantage, making Mercia look like utter fools on their own patch, and go into the second half of the season a point clear at the summit.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia United 3-0 Penniton United
Beckton Supermarine 2-1 Leston Town
Casuals Osteria 3-0 Bromham City
Caversham 3-4 Avidia City
Dereapolis City 2-1 CFF Monthuez
Emberton Reds 3-1 Bradwell Saints
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Caledon Simpson
Sandwell Rangers 1-0 Oustia

SUNDAY
Mercia Bromham 1-4 Stanton Town
Royal Emberton 4-4 Ashton Olympic

SAVIGLEGA SEASON 3 RECAP

Stade-Ferre Trinité are not used to being at the start of this paragraph. They've finished in the top four places of SavigLega for the past eleven years, but not once have they actually won the league. Yet after Nicoletta Arnaudo's triumphant return, that's exactly what they do - picking up seventy-five points and clinching the league with nearly a month left to play. Arnaudo's revival of counterattacking tactics, as well as the emergence of young Tikariot star Damian Weaver (who scored a team-high nineteen goals) and the reinvention of Michael Durand (eleven assists in twenty-seven matches) as a #10, ensured that Stade-Ferre were dangerous on the attack. But where the 4-4-1-1 really shone was on defense, where the likes of Rémy LeClerc, Nicolas DuCasse, and Audioslavian mercenary Benin Gerrikabeita suffocated opposing attacks en route to conceding just fifteen times over the course of the season. While attack-minded Tlanxball succeeds on the national level, Arnaudo has definitively shown that defense still wins you leagues in Savigliane.

AC Acqui Bollente, looking for a third consecutive title, came out flat and never quite got going in the league (although a quarterfinals run in the AOCL provided some measure of consolation). While the individual brilliance of Pietro Giraudo, Amara Vatrican, and Camillo Notari were often enough for the capital club to grind out results, injuries to young striker Paolo Rinaldi led to offensive stagnation, and while Acqui Bollente avoided the ignominious fate of last season's other top-two finisher, there will be pressure on manager Andrea Spinelli to come back with a vengeance next season (perhaps by following Stade-Ferre's lead in the transfer market). Filling out the remaining IFCF places are a pair of surprise packages in Villeneuve NSC and Nazionale Acqui Bollente. Villeneuve NSC, despite subtracting star midfielder Sébastien Petit from a team that finished in sixth just a season ago, rode a revitalized Devon Bradford (eighteen goals, seven assists) and a new 3-5-2 system to the heady heights of third after a shaky start. Meanwhile, Nazionale fans were told that they couldn't rely on aging striker Francesco Grimaldi to carry the offense forever - but Grimaldi turned back the clock yet again after outpacing the rest of the Swans during World Cup qualification, scoring twenty goals to lead a late rally into fourth for his hometown club.

No such rally came for AS Villeneuve, though, who instead endured a dire first season without talisman Isabella Coste and manager Jean-Claude Boucher. Instead, for the first time in thirteen seasons, the capital club finished outside the top four, with crosstown rivals NSC's strong season only adding insult to injury. An atrocious start to the season cost new manager Jonathan LeFou his job, and with Adélaïde Garcia (one of ASV's few bright spots in the season) set to leave and Gabriel Lefebvre set to retire, things could go from bad to worse in a hurry for the former titans of SavigLega. Behind them, Pietrargenta, after nearly qualifying for IFCF football the previous season, finished thirteen points adrift of the top four. While Nicodemo D'Ambrosio's departure to Eura proved not to be a big deal, with a bounceback year from Ezechiele Grossi enough for Pietrargenta to allow just thirty-one goals, the team's overreliance on a struggling Pascale Langóbardi proved fatal for their IFCF hopes. And just two points behind them, L'Escarene spent an entire season doing just enough to avoid the relegation battle, with new signing Alessandro Bella proving especially helpful in doing so - but without enough support to do much more.

At the bottom of the table, Saint-Adelin des Mercantores and FC Riziéres scrapped it out to see who would avoid the dreaded relegation playoff. SAdM, despite becoming many neutrals' favorite team to watch in SavigLega 2 for their focus on youth development and high-octane attacking style, were a shadow of their former selves in their SavigLega 1 debut. The departures of Carolina Russo and Anne-Marie Roux hamstrung their attack, and while midfielder Percival Rossi proved a solid pickup, the team shipped a league-worst sixty-two goals. Key to these struggles was the team's inability to find a competent goalkeeper, with Narcisa Rousseau enduring a shocking loss of form and Dominic Blanc sidelined for much of the season with injury. However, a final-week win over already-champions Stade-Ferre Trinité proved just enough for them to scrape into eighth place. The same couldn't be said for Riziéres, who just couldn't find the back of the net in both their final match and throughout the season. But at least they weren't Porto Vecchio, who never fully recovered from the loss of Adrian Toscani to Cazadores Cathair, and who proved wanting on both ends throughout a miserable final season in the top flight.

IFCF Challenger's Cup: Stadio del Piero, Acqui Bollente (45,500)
Located in the heart of Acqui Bollente, one of Savigliane's national capitals and the heart of Italophone Savigliane, Stadio del Piero is a magnificent stadium with a rich history. Home to AC Acqui Bollente, twice-defending champions of the SavigLega and home to one of the nation's most passionate fanbases, Stadio del Piero hosts all of the national team's home games, making it one of the most international-caliber stadia in the nation. While a recent renovation has expanded the stadium's capacity to 45,500 (making it more than large enough to host the CC), the stadium still retains the peacefulness and charm that it had when it was first built in 1952 to commemorate former club chairman Niccolo del Piero.

It's a new dawn in Yuezhou! With the collapse of the Yue Premier League during the most recent Civil War, the United Republics made it a priority to bring football back to the long-suffering people of Yuezhou. Enter the Yue Super! League and the Yue Challenge League, a two-tier system to bring football back to all the parts of Yuezhou that support the current government enough. While some enemies of freedom have criticized the new structure for "overrepresenting and favoring the southern provinces of Nanhai and Jiangdong, which just conquered the rest of Yuezhou and committed many atrocities while doing so", the people have applauded the return of beautiful football to our islands.

Fourteen clubs were selected to make up the Super! League in the first season, with three relegations and just one promotion in the inaugural season giving more clubs a chance to stake their claim to the top flight before evening out the divisions. While the forced relegations of strong northern clubs like Dynamo Dalian, as well as the dissolution of reigning champions and socialist heroes Yincheng Capitals, led many northerners to complain, even they couldn't find an excuse for Nangang Royals' deserved first championship in this new era.

IFCF Challenger's Cup: The Meridian, Jiangdong (46,000)
Pavola, The Vatmark, Branta, and Terramidia. The borders between these four subcontinents of Rushmore intersect in one corner. Since the founding of Yuezhou, it was believed that the earth that The Meridian lies on today held a confluence of powers underneath it, energizing the surrounding region. Jiangdong is sometimes still called the meridian province today for those very reasons. And so, after Jiangdong broke free of socialist oppressors and united the whole of Yuezhou under the banner of the United Republics, The Meridian - a symbol of modern Jiangdong - was built upon this confluence to commemorate the success of the war. The Meridian is a marvel of modern architecture, all sweeping steel beams and shining glass surfaces. It's located near the heart of the financial district of Jiangdong, one of the biggest cities in Yuezhou, and a revitalized city with the public transportation, lodging, and culture that football fans dream of. It’s become a symbol of a reunited Yuezhou welcoming the international community to its shores - will IFCF accept the invitation?

Season 33 preview

A fairly quiet transfer window; several of our highest-flying university kids at the moment are Nepharim who have their own careers to worry about. Defender Chiyo Murayami moved from Hassench College to Hofvinger in Græntfjall, and attacking midfielder Rikki Duckworth moved from the Zwangzug University of Science to Baywall Athletic in Havynwilde. Two of the Qusma kids hanging around also graduated and moved on to pastures new, those of them that aren't taking the uniform industry by storm.

The big coup, of course, was Arlington City, who usually prefer to rely on homegrown talent, landing the highly-touted services of former Silicon Boot co-winner Meldi'ita Mungwaii. Of course, they're not going to make him play in silicon boots, that would be uncomfortable. He wears normal blue cleats like the rest of his club. Well, maybe not normal...

Oh, I used to roam the Jungle
Now I tear up the northeast
And since their aim will never bungle
Everybody wants to wear my blue cleats.
I know with them I can climb any mountain
With them I don't fear defeat.
I'm thirty-four, but who's counting?
Everybody wants to wear my blue cleats.

Oh, fans are watching at home and away
I fracture onion bags and make them sway
Why would anybody prefer to defend?
You know it's absurd just to see it.

We'll climb up the coëfficients
While we play the world's elites
My goalscoring is proficient
Fans on the edges of their seats
Now that we're going for the gold
Everybody wants to wear my blue cleats.

Oh, the fans are so happy when we win
Let's not drop points; pass to me, I'll kick it in
Now we're chasing after a fourth title in a row
And I'm here to go forward, it's the only way to go

Well, that cup in Farfadillis
I scored four times, which was real neat
Now come to Arlington and see us
Where everybody wants to wear my blue cleats.
They all agree this transfer was a bargain
I have a bunch of new teammates to meet
But they all know that I'm awesome;
Everybody wants to wear my blue cleats!

O-LEAGUE : SEASON XIX - PART THREE

MATCHDAY 20
The more things change, the more they stay the same. As we enter the second half of the season, the leaders just keep chugging on. Chief among them were Avidia United, steamrollering Monthuez in the mountains, whilst wins for the rest of the top four means it's as you were.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 2-3 Emberton Reds
Avidia City 0-3 Royal Emberton
Bradwell Saints 4-2 Dereapolis City
Bromham City 0-0 Penniton United
CFF Monthuez 0-5 Avidia United
Leston Town 0-0 Sandwell Rangers
Oustia 0-1 Ousevale Borough
Stanton Town 1-0 Caversham

SUNDAY
Caledon Simpson 0-1 Casuals Osteria
Mercia Bromham 2-2 Beckton Supermarine

MATCHDAY 21
The three certainties in life - death, taxes, and the Reds throwing away points like it's going out of fashion. Not that Oliver Radzinski's complaining, as his goal secured thw win at the Isserson. The rest of the top four, meanwhile, carried on regardless, whilst Penniton hauled themselves out of the relegation zone with a win over a Simpson side who have picked up a paltry two points in their last nine matches.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia United 3-1 Bromham City
Casuals Osteria 3-0 Oustia
Caversham 2-0 Beckton Supermarine
CFF Monthuez 0-3 Bradwell Saints
Dereapolis City 1-2 Ashton Olympic
Emberton Reds 2-3 Avidia City
Penniton United 2-0 Caledon Simpson
Sandwell Rangers 1-2 Mercia Bromham

SUNDAY
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Leston Town
Royal Emberton 0-2 Stanton Town

MATCHDAY 22
Avidia United? Comfortable win.

Ashton? Comfortable win.

Casuals? Made to work for it, but got the points.

Ousevale, in the Mercian Classic? F**k me.

Just goes to show, Mr Swann, that it's all well and good dropping a small fortune on a striker, but if your defence isn't up to scratch, then...yeah.

In other news, Avidia City now have three wins from their last four and leapfrog Penniton out of the drop zone.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 5-1 CFF Monthuez
Avidia City 2-1 Dereapolis City
Beckton Supermarine 0-2 Royal Emberton
Bradwell Saints 1-6 Avidia United
Caledon Simpson 0-1 Bromham City
Caversham 0-1 Sandwell Rangers
Leston Town 1-2 Casuals Osteria
Oustia 3-1 Penniton United

SUNDAY
Mercia Bromham 0-6 Ousevale Borough
Stanton Town 2-0 Emberton Reds

MATCHDAY 23
Caversham are very much making themselves comfortable back in the top flight. After all, not everyone scores four at the Southern Arena - even if they only got a single point for their efforts.

At the County Ground, it's bottom versus top, and surprisingly, honours even as Stanton allow Krytenian international Alex Rivers to equalise from a late corner. Avidia take top spot in the confusion, whilst Casuals are second after heaping more misery on Stephen Crozier's Mercia side.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia United 4-2 Caledon Simpson
Bradwell Saints 1-6 Ashton Olympic
Bromham City 1-1 Oustia
CFF Monthuez 1-1 Avidia City
Penniton United 0-1 Leston Town
Dereapolis City 1-1 Stanton Town
Ousevale Borough 4-4 Caversham
Royal Emberton 2-3 Sandwell Rangers

SUNDAY
Casuals Osteria 3-0 Mercia Bromham
Emberton Reds 1-0 Beckton Supermarine

MATCHDAY 24
Well, things at the top just got interesting. Saturday was pretty unspectacular, with Casuals squeaking past a doughty defensive performance from Caversham, and Stanton demolishing a struggling Monthuez side. Mercia, meanwhile, decided that someone needed to pay for the Midlanders conceding nine without reply in their last two; Penniton fit the bill quite nicely, thanks.

Then Sunday happened. Ashton and the Eagles (good name for a band, that) served up ten goals of awesome, and with Ousevale leaving Oxley Park with tail firmly parked between legs, it's the Miners sitting pretty in pole position. Thirty-one points from their last eleven games does help in that regard, mind.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia City 0-4 Bradwell Saints
Beckton Supermarine 1-1 Dereapolis City
Caversham 0-1 Casuals Osteria
Leston Town 2-0 Bromham City
Mercia Bromham 6-1 Penniton United
Oustia 0-3 Caledon Simpson
Sandwell Rangers 1-1 Emberton Reds
Stanton Town 3-0 CFF Monthuez

SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 6-4 Avidia United
Royal Emberton 2-0 Ousevale Borough

KFA CUP ROUND FOUR
The quarter-finals are going to look...interesting. Division Four outfit Faversham Town continue to punch above their weight, taking down former Prem side Westleigh on penalties, whilst Bletcham Devils, bottom of Division One, will join them after ending the Second City's interest in the competition.

That's not to say it all went the smaller teams' way. Thackworth and Norton were eliminated by top-class opposition in the form of Mercia and Stanton respectively, whilst the other Division Four team left in the competition found the Gears grinding on overdrive. Sorry, Chesamer.

Ashton Olympic 2-0 Norton
Avidia City 0-0 Bletcham Devils (0-1 AET)
Bradwell Saints 0-0 Emberton Reds (0-1 AET)
Caversham 3-0 Oustia
Dereapolis City 1-1 Stanton Town (1-1 AET, 2-4 PKs)
Leston Town 4-1 Chesamer
Thackworth Rovers 0-2 Mercia Bromham
Westleigh Athletic 1-1 Faversham Town (1-1 AET, 3-4 PKs)/size]

[size=150]MATCHDAY 25

Emberton Reds versus Ousevale Borough is a choke job waiting to happen. Surprisingly, though, it's the Tigers in need of airway clearance as they drop all three points in the capital. They remain fifth, but are now looking down rather than up the table.

Sunday, meanwhile, was Derby Day, but there were no shocks here as Stanton and Mercia both did the dirty on their local rivals to keep the pressure on leaders Casuals.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 4-1 Avidia City
Avidia United 1-0 Oustia
Caledon Simpson 2-1 Leston Town
Casuals Osteria 3-0 Royal Emberton
CFF Monthuez 0-1 Beckton Supermarine
Dereapolis City 0-1 Sandwell Rangers
Emberton Reds 2-1 Ousevale Borough
Penniton United 1-1 Caversham

SUNDAY
Bradwell Saints 1-3 Stanton Town
Bromham City 1-2 Mercia Bromham

MATCHDAY 26
Casuals are looking quite scary right now. Victory over the Reds was their ninth on the trot, and asks the question: who can stop them?

Stanton hoped it could be them, but defeat at home to the still-reigning champions might suggest otherwise. It does mean that Avidia United now take hold of second spot as the Second City Derby went as it usually does only more so, with the Eagles hitting seven against hapless City.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 0-0 Bradwell Saints
Caversham 1-0 Bromham City
Emberton Reds 1-2 Casuals Osteria
Leston Town 2-0 Oustia
Mercia Bromham 4-1 Caledon Simpson
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Dereapolis City
Royal Emberton 3-1 Penniton United
Sandwell Rangers 1-0 CFF Monthuez

SUNDAY
Avidia City 3-7 Avidia United
Stanton Town 0-1 Ashton Olympic

MATCHDAY 27
Going to Bromham and getting your hides tanned is an occupational hazard sometimes. Trouble is, the Royals did it against Bromham "Heads Barely Above Water" City. Oof.

Elswhere, Casuals stay top after annihilating Dereapolis, whilst whoever at KBS greenlit Ashton versus Beckton as a live match is currently regretting their life choices.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia United 2-1 Leston Town
Bradwell Saints 0-2 Sandwell Rangers
Bromham City 4-0 Royal Emberton
Caledon Simpson 2-1 Caversham
CFF Monthuez 0-1 Ousevale Borough
Dereapolis City 0-5 Casuals Osteria
Oustia 1-1 Mercia Bromham
Penniton United 0-2 Emberton Reds

SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 0-0 Beckton Supermarine
Avidia City 0-1 Stanton Town

MATCHDAY 28
If Ousevale's title challenge wasn't dead before, it probably is now. Defeat to Bradwell - at home, no less - leaves them nine points adrift of league leaders Casuals, who continued their bullying of the lower-placed sides against Monthuez.

Sunday brought a couple of interesting games, with Dereapolis escaping the bottom three with a win in an absolute six-pointer against Penniton before Avidia United kept their title chase on track whilst seriously denting the Dockers' hopes of taking the crown.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 3-1 Avidia City
Casuals Osteria 4-0 CFF Monthuez
Caversham 1-0 Oustia
Emberton Reds 1-1 Bromham City
Mercia Bromham 0-0 Leston Town
Ousevale Borough 2-4 Bradwell Saints
Royal Emberton 3-2 Caledon Simpson
Sandwell Rangers 2-4 Ashton Olympic

SUNDAY
Dereapolis City 2-0 Penniton United
Stanton Town 1-2 Avidia United

MATCHDAY 29
It's a tasty dozen for Casuals as the league leaders won their twelfth game on the spin - but the Eagles are chasing hard, as Sunday's five-two win over Mercia marks their eleventh win in the same time period. They're now starting to peel away from the pack, with Stanton coming up just short in the Battle of the Beck, and Ashton and Ousevale succeeding only in costing each other points.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 1-1 Ousevale Borough
Avidia City 2-1 Sandwell Rangers
Bradwell Saints 1-4 Casuals Osteria
Bromham City 3-0 Dereapolis City
Caledon Simpson 2-2 Emberton Reds
CFF Monthuez 1-1 Penniton United
Leston Town 0-1 Caversham
Oustia 0-0 Royal Emberton

SUNDAY
Avidia United 5-2 Mercia Bromham
Stanton Town 1-1 Beckton Supermarine

O-LEAGUE : SEASON XIX - PART FOUR

MATCHDAY 30
It's a lucky thirteen for Casuals as erstwhile champions Ashton became the latest team to fail to beat the rampant Miners. With Avidia United and Stanton both being held on the Saturday, the team from Coalfields are now stretching their legs at the top of the table with a five point cushion.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 0-0 Avidia United
Caversham 1-2 Mercia Bromham
Dereapolis City 2-4 Caledon Simpson
Emberton Reds 2-1 Oustia
Ousevale Borough 0-1 Avidia City
Penniton United 5-1 Bradwell Saints
Royal Emberton 2-1 Leston Town
Sandwell Rangers 1-1 Stanton Town

SUNDAY
Casuals Osteria 3-2 Ashton Olympic
CFF Monthuez 1-1 Bromham City

KFA CUP QUARTER FINALS
The quarter-final draw has, at least, ensured someone from outside the top flight will be playing in the last four. That said, Bletcham did need a shoot-out to get past a team four divisions below them, but nonetheless they are just two games away from a potential IFCF place. And they could well be relegated to Division Two. That being said, the remaining teams are Ashton, Leston, and Mercia, so good luck with that.

Caversham 0-2 Ashton Olympic
Faversham Town 1-1 Bletcham Devils (1-1 AET, 2-3 PKs)
Leston Town 2-0 Stanton Town
Mercia Bromham 1-1 Emberton Reds (2-1 AET)

MATCHDAY 31
They may be surrendering the trophy at the end of the season, but Ashton are at least going out in style. Not that that's any consolation to Penniton, mind.

Casuals, meanwhile, win again, defeating Avidia City in a move that will shock few.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 8-1 Penniton United
Avidia City 0-1 Casuals Osteria
Avidia United 2-0 Caversham
Beckton Supermarine 1-4 Sandwell Rangers
Bradwell Saints 2-2 Bromham City
Caledon Simpson 1-1 CFF Monthuez
Leston Town 1-2 Emberton Reds
Oustia 0-2 Dereapolis City

SUNDAY
Mercia Bromham 1-1 Royal Emberton
Stanton Town 2-0 Ousevale Borough

MATCHDAY 32
Stanton Town, like Ashton Olympic two weeks before, are completely unable to halt Sammy Dee's Blue And Amber Juggernaut (trademark pending). With the Eagles failing to turn up at South Road, the gap at the top increases to eight. Stick a fork in this one, folks.

That's not to say that there's not still intrigue. With Ashton the only top six team left in the cup, fourth place might not be enough for a Challengers Cup spot. Luckily for Stanton, Ashton's draw in the Mercian capital means that there's only a single point between them for third.

At the bottom, Monthuez's point is useful but not enough; it also doesn't do Oustia any favours either, as they get dragged closer to a drop zone that was only congested more by Penniton's vital win over Avidia City and a hard-earned point for the Derries in the West Mercia derby.

Results:
SATURDAY
Bradwell Saints 3-1 Caledon Simpson
Bromham City 1-1 Ashton Olympic
CFF Monthuez 0-0 Oustia
Emberton Reds 1-1 Mercia Bromham
Ousevale Borough 4-0 Beckton Supermarine
Penniton United 1-0 Avidia City
Royal Emberton 6-1 Caversham
Sandwell Rangers 5-2 Avidia United

SUNDAY
Casuals Osteria 5-2 Stanton Town
Dereapolis City 1-1 Leston Town

MATCHDAY 33
After fifteen consecutive wins, Casuals make the short trip north to Beckton and finally drop points as the Mariners snatch a draw. It matters little, though, as United are turned over by the Royals to fall nine points behind the champions in waiting.

The race for third, meanwhile, might just become a race for second. Ashton and Stanton both won and are breathing down the necks of the Eagles.

Results:
SATURDAY
Ashton Olympic 3-0 Caledon Simpson
Avidia City 1-5 Bromham City
Avidia United 2-3 Royal Emberton
Caversham 2-1 Emberton Reds
Leston Town 1-1 CFF Monthuez
Mercia Bromham 2-0 Dereapolis City
Oustia 1-1 Bradwell Saints
Stanton Town 1-0 Penniton United

SUNDAY
Beckton Supermarine 2-2 Casuals Osteria
Sandwell Rangers 1-0 Ousevale Borough

MATCHDAY 34
Matthew Orsini is quietly working absolute miracles at South Road. Sandwell's last five games read Stanton (draw), Beckton (win), United (win), Ousevale (win), and now Casuals (draw). Any hope that the Miners might be throwing this one away, though, is tempered by the fact that Ousevale decided they were actually going to turn up against Avidia's finest, giving Ashton the chance to steal second and allowing Casuals to retain their nine-point cushion.

At the bottom, meanwhile, Dereapolis lift themselves out of the relegation zone with a battling draw against Caversham.

Results:
Ashton Olympic 1-0 Oustia
Bradwell Saints 1-3 Leston Town
Bromham City 0-3 Stanton Town
Caledon Simpson 4-0 Avidia City
Casuals Osteria 2-2 Sandwell Rangers
CFF Monthuez 0-2 Mercia Bromham
Dereapolis City 1-1 Caversham
Penniton United 0-2 Beckton Supermarine

SUNDAY
Emberton Reds 1-2 Royal Emberton
Ousevale Borough 1-0 Avidia United

MATCHDAY 35
Ousevale may not be able to win any silverware this season, but they're keen to remind everyone that they still exist. Beating Casuals, and snapping their 21-match unbeaten run, will do quite nicely. One crumb of comfort for the Miners, though, will be the fact that Ashton were upended in the South West derby, meaning they're seven rather than six clear at the top.

At the other end, City and Oustia met in a six-pointer that ended in a draw because of course it did. Nobody else in the dogfight picked up points, though, so it's all fine.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia United 4-1 Emberton Reds
Beckton Supermarine 4-2 Bromham City
Caversham 2-0 CFF Monthuez
Leston Town 2-0 Ashton Olympic
Mercia Bromham 3-4 Bradwell Saints
Royal Emberton 3-0 Dereapolis City
Sandwell Rangers 1-0 Penniton United
Stanton Town 5-0 Caledon Simpson

SUNDAY
Avidia City 1-1 Oustia
Ousevale Borough 2-1 Casuals Osteria

MATCHDAY 36
What's sweeter than winning the title? Getting to rub someone else's noses in it. Alex Meitner's late winner means that Casuals Osteria have won the league with a victory over Avidia United.

Don't worry, though, it's still all to play for at the other end, with five teams looking to secure two safe spots. Penniton's unexpected point at home to Ousevale helps, but it's Avidia City who move into the safe zone with a point of their own against Leston.

Results:
SATURDAY
Avidia City 0-0 Leston Town
Bradwell Saints 0-0 Caversham
Bromham City 1-1 Sandwell Rangers
Caledon Simpson 3-2 Beckton Supermarine
CFF Monthuez 0-3 Royal Emberton
Dereapolis City 0-2 Emberton Reds
Oustia 0-1 Stanton Town
Penniton United 1-1 Ousevale Borough

SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 0-0 Mercia Bromham
Casuals Osteria 2-1 Avidia United - Casuals Osteria are champions

KFA CUP SEMI FINALS
It's official: West Mercia is Best Mercia. Leston, to be honest, had the easier task; that being said, Bletcham made them work for their win at the Draconium. Ashton Olympic will be joining them in the final, with Alex Vinelli striking in extra time to sink Mercia's chances of silverware.

Leston Town 2-0 Bletcham Devils (@ Draconium Arena, Caversham)
Ashton Olympic 0-0 Mercia Bromham (1-0 AET) (@ Southern Arena, Ousevale)

MATCHDAY 37
Avidia United are seriously becoming their own worst enemies. True, a draw in an unexpected place is a godsend for Dereapolis, but for the Eagles it means that they start the final day hanging precariously in fourth spot. Stanton aren't complaining, mind, as they beat Leston to secure second spot.

At the bottom, three from five is now two from three as the Francophones sadly didn't find Emberton Reds in a choking mood, sending Monthuez straight back from whence they came. Oustia, meanwhile, beat Beckton to secure Premier Division football for another season.

Results:
SATURDAY
Beckton Supermarine 0-1 Oustia
Casuals Osteria 4-0 Penniton United
Emberton Reds 5-1 CFF Monthuez - CFF Monthuez are relegated
Mercia Bromham 2-2 Avidia City
Ousevale Borough 3-0 Bromham City
Royal Emberton 4-1 Bradwell Saints
Sandwell Rangers 1-1 Caledon Simpson
Stanton Town 3-0 Leston Town

SUNDAY
Avidia United 1-1 Dereapolis City
Caversham 0-3 Ashton Olympic

MATCHDAY 38
First of all, let's get the mess at the bottom sorted. Penniton couldn't muster the points they needed to have a chance to stay up, Dereapolis managed to faceplant at home to already-relegated Monthuez, which means that despite looking all at sea against Caversham, Avidia City stay up despite failing to win any of their last eight matches.

As for third place, United's win over the Pennies was all for nought as Ashton picked up the three points they needed to secure a Challengers Cup spot. Expect the New City suburbs to be awash with oxblood next week - and Sixways to suddenly discover a love of Leston.

Results:
SUNDAY
Ashton Olympic 3-0 Royal Emberton
Avidia City 0-2 Caversham
Bradwell Saints 1-2 Emberton Reds
Bromham City 1-2 Casuals Osteria
Caledon Simpson 1-0 Ousevale Borough
CFF Monthuez 1-0 Dereapolis City - Dereapolis City are relegated
