Introduction

Welcome to Filindostan for the 26th edition of Esportiva's premier regional football tournament, the Campionato Esportiva. 24 nations make it into Filindostan trying to etch their name into history by winning the coveted competition. Will Brenecia be the third nation after Apox and Buyan to win back to back Campionatos? Will Kita-Hinode be able to reclaim the title and win their third Campionato? Will Mattijana be able to recover from out of the podium finish and have a shot of winning it all again? Will a new challenger rise up the ranks and win their first Campionato? And will Filindostan finally win the Campionato, especially in front of their home fans? Watch the tournament unravel in the coming weeks as we witness Esportivan football at the highest level of regional competition.

This is the Everything thread for this tournament. Nations can post their rosters and roleplay posts, and hosts will post the scores per given matchday. Posts in this thread should be purely in-character (IC), and any out-of-context or out-of-character (OOC) posts should be directed at the discussion thread.

Roster Posts

Roster posts should include information about the team - the players, coaching staff, how they play, and so on and so forth. You may visit the IC thread of the previous edition of the Campionato to get an insight on the different roster posts of the participants. Please include as much information as needed in order for you or your opponent to roleplay efficiently should s/he or you use game reports. Participants are also encouraged to include a roleplay permissions box, which contains at least the information below:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No - allows the opponent to choose the goal scorers for your team
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes/No - allows the opponent freedom to be do anything with the way your team's goals are scored, including unrealistic or improbable instances
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No - allows the opponent to roleplay injuries to your team
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No - allows the opponent freedom to be do anything with the way your team's players are injured, including unrealistic or improbable instances
Hand out Yellow cards to my players: Yes/No - allows the opponent to roleplay instances of yellow cards to your team
Hand out Red cards to my players: Yes/No - allows the opponent to roleplay instances of red cards to your team
Godmod Other Events: Yes/No - allows the opponent freedom to be do anything with other in-character events, including unrealistic or improbable instances

It is the users’ responsibility to set their RP permissions in place, and put more specific instructions or guidelines on it. The rule of thumb is that if a user is not sure of his/her RP permissions, or if a user have an RP idea but is not sure if his or her opponent would approve to it, they should discuss it first before proceeding. If a user feels that his or her opponent did not follow his or her permissions, they may contact their opponent to resolve it, or just post it to the discussion thread. Blatant and unreasonable violations of RP permissions by a user will result to their RP bonus reset to zero.

It is also important to check first if the opponent have posted their roleplay before posting their own. Instances of retroactive continuity (retcon) in at least the opponents and users’ roleplays are generally frowned upon and will result to their RP bonus reset to zero. However, users may retcon only if the opponent did not follow RP permissions or did not follow through the last RPs of the user (e.g. player is injured in the last game and cannot play the next one but their opponent roleplayed the particular player as taking the winning shot in that next game).

Disclaimer: The host of the tournament has decided not to mention or make any scenarios with references to the current pandemic, and will ignore any RP instances of it during the tournament. Mentions of the said topic in an RP will not affect the grading of it, but when the main topic is references to pandemic itself, then zero RP points will be awarded.) Participants are given freedom to ignore any instances of this should participants make any remarks about it.

PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF FILINDOSTAN

Geography

Filindostan is a small archipelago located near the center of Esportiva. This nation is inhabited by Filindostanis, a portmanteau of the words Filis (OOC: Filipino) and Indos (OOC: Indonesian). It consists of four islands of nearly equal land mass. The four islands are named Pelita Raya, Tanjung Pagi, which are Indos-dominated, Kabishawan, and Kabunuklan which as Filis-dominated.

Filindostan does not share any land border with its neighbors, but the nation shares maritime borders with the following nations: Damukuni to the north, The Licentian Isles and Boring Paradise to the west, Xadowia and Estope on the east, and Wednesday Evening on the south.

The capital of Filindostan is San Marco, and also its largest city in the Kabishawan Island. Although the capital also generates the most income and money for the nation, there are three other metropolitan cities, one in each other island, and an autonomous city in Pelita Raya. In Tanjung Pagi, the city of Jakulta is one of the cultural centers of the nation due to its history as the "other capital". San Rafael is known as the greenest city in the nation due to its lush forest and surrounding mountain ranges - there is only one major road that can access the metropolitan area there. The last one is the Tricities of Pelita Raya. Despite the long distance of Bandaroon from the other two of the Tricities, an expressway is connected such that travel time from either of Bandariyan and Bandarito only takes thirty minutes. The sole autonomous city is Yogyakulta, which was made into a city in 90006 to promote and recognize the emerging motorsports industry in the area.

Due to the archipelagic nature of the nation, the primary mode of transportation in Filindostan is via air and sea travel. Inter-island airlines have been known and is a popular choice for people due to the promos they offer - in spite of this, air travel in the nation is not much regulated, as a result, only FilindAir, the state-owned airline, deemed to be the safest among the carriers, is the only airline allowed to fly passengers in international flights. The maritime transportation however is heavily regulated, with competing shipping lines and some small ships ply the seas to ferry passengers to different islands. This is because despite having bridges from the Kabishawan island to the other islands, there are no bridges connecting the other islands with each other. Bus travel within the islands themselves is a common sight, with San Lomar Bus Lines holding the monopoly of the bus operations in the outer islands. There are some routes that go beyond the islands via the bridges, but the SLC also monopolized the routes there.

There have been plans to interconnect the islands via three major bridges, but it is still in the planning phase due to right-of-way issues.

Economy

Filindostan is a third-world country by multiversal standards. Despite this, economists believe that the Filindostani economy and commerce are strong enough to withstand movements in the stock market and global recession. This is due to the fact that the pineapple and banana exports are one of the forte of the nation. There are many plantation of bananas in Pelita Raya and pineapples in Kabunuklan. Add the tourism income generated from Jakulta and San Rafael which makes Filindostan a good place to invest in.

The national currency of Filindostan is Rupeso/Rupiso (OOC: portmanteau of Rupiah and Peso/Piso, the national currencies of Indonesia and Philippines respectively). 1 NS Dollar is equivalent to around 100 to 115 rupesos.

People and Culture

Filindostani is the demonym of Filindostan. According to the latest census done in 90012, the population of Filindostan is 47,571,134, with 57 percent of the population being Indos and 43 percent being Filis. Majority of the Indos live in the islands of Tanjung Pagi and Pelita Raya, while Kabunuklan hosts many of the Filis portion of the population. In Kabishawan, around 65 percent are Filis and the rest are Indos.

Majority of the Filindostani population are Christians, forming 70 percent of the population - 95 percent of Filis and 50 percent of Indos. Twenty-five percent are Muslim while a meager five percent are atheists.

Festivals are a commonplace in the nation, with most fiestas being held in Jakulta, the capital of culture in Filindostan. Festivals ranged from flower festivals, to celebration of tunas, to football. Filindostanis are generally warm and hospitable, but sometimes can be worse as internet trolls.

Filindostanis are also generally present in social media - they even have their own social media platforms, among of them is Tiwiter. They also maintain several accounts at several foreign owned social media platforms such as Twii.tur, where several motorsports personalities have their own accounts, due to the rising popularity of racing stars like Rustom Ibuna and Hana Bhe.

Government

The government of Filindostan is a Democratic Socialist government led by President Dorigo Dutete and Vice President Renee Leonido. While they form the executive branch with the government's cabinet, the legislative branch is led by the congress, with three representatives per island form the upper congress - also called the Senate, and the lower congress, where each town or city being represented along with representatives of the marginalized groups, such as farmers, teachers or tricycle drivers.

National elections are done every four years - the last being the year 90000. Dutete has held the presidency since 89979 when his forces deposed the communist government. Presidents have unlimited terms, but once declared incapable to lead the country, the leader must step down from his/her position.

Sports

Filindostanis participated in the survey done during the national census in 90002 in which they were asked their favorite sport. A whopping 59 percent of the 12 and above population answered football as their favorite, followed by basketball, which gathered 28 percent, and 9 percent answered volleyball. Other sports included are rugby, handball and motor racing.

The most storied rivalry in Filindostani sports is the one between two San Marco teams, Fortunas and Venividicci. The two teams dominated football and basketball festivals, and games between them turned into social media spats and riots along San Marco. Other teams which have performed strongly in recent seasons are from Jakulta and Massakar in Tanjung Pagi, and from both Yogyakulta and any one of the tri-cities from Pelita Raya.

Islands and Venues

For the tournament, Four groups of six are divided into four islands, with each island hosting one group. The exception to this is Group D, with two matches per matchday held in Kabunuklan Island, and one in Kabanalan in southern Kabishawan.

Kabishawan Island
Image

Kabishawan (ka-bis-ha-wan) is the name of the island at the center of Filindostan. It is comprised of one highly urbanized city, a third class municipality, and two fifth class municipalities. Its lone city is San Marco, which is also its capital. This is the gateway to Filindostan, as the main airport is located here, and many buses, mostly owned by San Lomar Bus Lines, ply around the archipelago. Many of the offices and headquarters of many agencies are located in San Marco, being the busiest city in Filindostan. As such, heavy traffic is already a norm, especially in the city center. The government has proposed to decongest San Marco - Fipocor, the national power distribution cooperative in the nation, moved their offices from the capital to the southern Kabishawan in the town of Kabanalan. The government also decided to build the international airport and the then Islandic Stadium near the border of San Marco and Bagtasan.

Usually the cost of living in Kabishawan is high, due to the urban status of San Marco and its proximity to commercial buildings. Residential units usually cost 15 to 25 million Rupesos, which is five to ten times the cost of units in Jakulta, San Rafael or even Bandarito. Despite that, the transportation system in Kabishawan (especially in San Marco) is one of the most efficient in the country.

Kabishawan has many options to choose from for accommodation - ranging from house to a condominium unit for rent.

Venues

Filindostan National Stadium, San Marco (capacity - 80,000)
Known to Indos as the Gelora Sepakbola Nasional Pilindo, the national stadium of Filindostan was opened in 90003 with the country's hosting of the U-18 World Cup. The under-18 team of Mercedini has been the first team to officially win a match here, which has been a staple of National team matches and numerous domestic cup finals and super cups, pitting the league champions against the cup champions. This stadium will host Group A matches, one quarterfinal match as well as the final of the Campionato Esportiva 26.

San Marco Stadium, San Marco (capacity - 35,247)
Known locally as Fortunas Stadium, owned and operated by Filindostan Football League club Fortunas, San Marco Stadium has been chosen over the other San Marco stadium, Stadium Jargana, as the stadium seats more spectators than that of their rivals. Renovated in time for the semifinals of the same U-18 World Cup, the stadium is well-maintained by its Juvencian owners, and was a subject of gradual increase of capacity until the current figures were reached. Stadium will host Group A matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Buenavista Community Complex, Buenavista (capacity - 11,552)
The main sporting venue at the town of Buenavista, adjacent to San Marco. One of the smallest capacity stadiums to host a match of the Campionato. To compensate for the fans who could not purchase tickets due to the limited capacity, the city council had put up several parks and parking lots in the town to set them up as viewing areas free of charge. Several food trucks and stalls will be commissioned to provide food amenities to spectators. Stadium will host Group A matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Kabanalan Sports Complex, Kabanalan (capacity - 18,000)
The main sporting venue of Kabanalan and is currently home to Kabanalan Sports Club 90004. Despite it being one of the oldest stadiums in Filindostan, the facilities are still amenable and is safe for spectators. Before the turnover to the new sports club, the stadium was maintained by Fipocor, and had a poor maintenance record, leading to the municipal government to take over the stadium, and spending millions of rupesos to renovate the facility in time for the Campionato. Due to the lack of sporting infrastructure in the southern island of Kabunuklan and the venue being the nearest one from the island, this venue will play host to Group D matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Tanjung Pagi Island
Image

Tanjung Pagi (tan-jung pa-gi) is the easternmost island in Filindostan, comprised of one component city, a second class municipality, and three fifth class municipalities. These are: Jakulta City (city center of Tanjung Pagi and the Filindostani Capital of Culture), Massakar, Bonjing, Menodo and Bogo. Jakulta is one of the known tourist destinations in Filindostan (OOC: Think the beach life in Bali plus the waves of Siargao/La Union), having a city center with a lively night market, a white sands beach on the northwest portion of the city and a wavy and trechearous Filindostani Deep at the northeast portion. It also has a heritage site where streets made of blocks and kalesa and stone-age houses (OOC: Think Vigan) near the Jakulta Esportiva Stadium.

The cost of living in Tanjung Pagi is not that expensive than the likes of San Marco in Kabishawan. However, if you are a tourist or a visitor, then you'll be tempted to spend big for a week-long tour along Jakulta. I'm talking about the locals here - visitors may take a hard time looking for accommodation in Jakulta, and some are a bit pricey. Pro tip: rent a car and get a house-for-rent in either Bogo or Bonjing, which is south of Jakulta.

Venues

Jakulta Esportiva Stadium, Jakulta (capacity - 30,000)
The stadium was created for two purposes - to house the most ambitious team in the Filindostan Football League, and to create a stadium to host a potential Campionato Esportiva final... until those plans were scuppered by a larger project, which was the GSNP/GNP. Due to the capacity of the stadium as well as its modern facilities and amenities, and also due to the fact that the next largest stadium is also in San Marco, this venue was selected to host the third place match even if the expansion plans didn't push through. This stadium will host Group C matches, one quarterfinal match as well as the third place match of the Campionato Esportiva 26.

Tanjung Pagi Regional Stadium, Massakar (capacity - 17,350)
Then known as the Massakar TP Stadium when it hosted matches during SWC4, Massakar's main sporting venue was redeveloped extensively to meet the standards of both the FFL, UICA/IFCF, and the FFF, resulting to a 17,350 capacity stadium and a facade that would less likely resemble the old, unrenovated stadium. Venue will host Group C matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Menodo Municipal Stadium, Menodo (capacity - 14,351)
The main sporting venue in the municipality of Menodo and home to Peropimen. The club coordinated with the municipal government to redevelop a derelict sporting venue pre-FFL in preparation for possible top-flight matches, which they achieve a couple of seasons later. Stadium will host Group C matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Pelita Raya Island
Image

Pelita Raya (pe-li-ta ra-ya) is the westernmost island in Filindostan and is comprised of three component cities, an autonomous city, and two fifth class municipalities. The so-called Tri-Cities are located in this island - Bandarito, Bandariyan, and Bandaroon (ban-da-ro-on). The other towns in the island are West Rava, Gurunsing, and Yogyakulta. Like Kabunuklan, the island is full of trees and lush forests along Bandaroon and most of its towns. Despite lagging behind Kabishawan and Tanjung Pagi in terms of economy and tourism, the Island prides itself with the fishing industry, particularly in the outskirts of Bandaroon, West Rava and the Autonomous City of Yogyakulta.

Many seafood restaurants are located here, testament of the fishing industry the island has. In Bandarito alone, there are tens of known 'dampa' (OOC: place where you can pick live fish and cook them with your desired meals), which may be covered in an upcoming article. Cost of living is much lower compared to the other two islands, but the quality of accommodations is inferior to the two islands but superior to Kabunuklan, which is considered to be the most remote of the four.

Yogyakulta (pronounced as JOG-jah-kul-tah), officially known as Kota Otonomo Yogyakulta (or Koytog for short) is the first autonomous city of Filindostan. With a national decree signed on 90005 to make the then-town of Yogyakulta an autonomous city to address the increasing industrialization of the area known for its fishing. It has slowly become a motorsports mecca, with the Yogyakulta International Circuit and the Yoggy Oval being built in three years to cater for the motorsport industry where people used to held illegal street races.

The goverment recently built an international airport in the city, reducing travel time to the city compared to landing on either San Marco or Bandaroon from 45 minutes to three hours, to just ten minutes.

Venues

Stadium Bandarito, Bandarito (capacity - 30,000)
One of the venues which hosted the SWC4, and known as Stadium Petrofilindo for sponsorship purposes, the stadium was renovated during the event to be able to host evening matches and increase capacity to 30,000 all-seater. The stadium had been a subject of a presidential speech well-known to the locals where the president lashed his tongue at the corrupt officials of the city. This stadium will host Group B matches, one quarterfinal match as well as one semifinal match of the Campionato Esportiva 26.

Kompleks Olahraga Yogyakulta, Yogyakulta (capacity - 17,350)
Owned by the Autonomous City Council of Yogyakulta, the stadium is the home venue for both Yogyakulta clubs Perokotyog and Peroperayog. Stadium has passable amenities and good atmosphere. However, the two clubs have jointly planned to move stadiums as the venue cannot be further expanded due to the proximity of the stadium to critical business areas, which makes it impossible to expand. The new stadium is currently under construction near Yoggy Oval but was not completed in time for the tournament. Venue will host Group B matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Gelora Bong Kanor Stadium, Bandaroon (capacity - 26,225)
Owned and operated by Perotres Bandaroon, the most modern of the four FFL venues in Pelita Raya - the others being the two mentioned stadiums above, and Bandariyan's Olympiki Naturalisasi Stadium which along with this stadium, hosted SWC4 matches as well. This stadium was recently renovated to add 5,500 seats to increase the capacity to around 26k all-seater. Stadium will host Group B matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

Kabunuklan Island
Image

Kabunuklan (ka-bu-nuk-lan) is the southernmost and the most remote of the four islands in Filindostan. It consists of a component city (San Rafael), a second class municipality (San Mameng), and three fifth class municipalities (Tapia, Sinukabang-Kambing,and Birdinuguan). The other four towns in this island is almost covered by forest and plains, which is also featured in the city center itself. They take farming , responsible foresting and mining as their main source of income - and let's not forget that the San Lomar Bus Lines main office and bus depot is located in San Mameng, which was established to solve the transportation problems that lie in this island. Once the company got bigger and bigger, they focused on routes out of the capital city San Marco.

Of the four islands, this one's the least prosperous in terms of money and cost of living. The island also suffers from poor network coverage as only San Rafael and San Mameng have good quality of mobile network in the area. Due to the remoteness of the island, there is almost less to none night life in the towns, except for San Mameng and of course, the city of San Rafael. Also, this was the only island with no operational airport - Roll-on-Roll-off (RORO) ships are the only mode of transportation between Kabishawan and Kabunuklan besides the cramped up bridge in San Mameng.

Recently, two airfields have been renovated extensively in preparation for the tournament, with both San Rafael Airport and San Mameng Airfield being operational, just in time for the tournament.

Venues

New San Rafael Stadium, San Rafael (capacity - 25,000)
Known in San Rafael as the Wardogs Ground due to ownership by San Rafael Wardogs, the stadium is the newest stadium built in Filindostan, as part of the ambitions of the Kabunuklan club to attract big name players and close the gap to the rest of the clubs in the FFL. With modern amenities and the only stadium sporting artificial turf to reduce maintenance costs, viewing experience of fans should be good for the duration of the tournament. This stadium will host Group D matches, one quarterfinal match as well as one semifinal match of the Campionato Esportiva 26.

San Mameng Municipal Stadium, San Mameng (capacity - 11,000)
The smallest stadium among the Campionato Esportiva venues. Co-owned and operated by San Lomar Cooperative, the stadium have also underwent renovation and seating capacity increases to pass the standards of the FFF. Venue will host Group D matches as well as one Round of 16 match.

XANAir National Stadium II:
(Image)
XANAir II is a new state of the art Stadium in downtown Dominica City. Built after the original Stadium was demolished due to cracks forming int he foundation, this stadium is home to both Capital FC and GTHe National Team. It will be a sight to behold as it will also be hosting playoff games.

NOTE TO THOSE RPING A GAME VERUS XANERRIA

Xannerian Football is played differently than most countries. For one it is hyper offensive with most teams using either 4 or 5 forwards who run directly at the goal with balls being passed only when necessary. Defense is even more alarmingly different as Xanneria RARELY calls penelties on diving (unless injuries occur) and its actually common for players to attempt to bump other players out of the way, granted this is also heavily moderated (Shoving a player with your hands is a penalty and shoving a player perpendicular to you is also a penalty). International players are trying to surpress excessive brutality, but sometimes in the heat of the game they forget. So feel free to have some of my players get Yellow carded for aggressive play.

Commissioned by the Federal Football Organization, and made by Čast, the federation's largest sportswear manufacturer. The "home" attire takes it's design from the national flag, incorporating the color scheme of the flag and the, "Star of Stanimir." While displayed here, the "alternate home" attire will not be used in the Campionato Esportiva. To see the tertiary design in action, fans will have to wait until the Baptism of Fire.

NEWMANISTAN ROCKETS

OFFICIAL ROSTER FOR CE 26

Starters:
Image GK: #1- Ryan McNamara (26, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– A taller keeper that prefers to rely on instincts. Is often aggressive towards the shooter, and this has seen him have success, especially while at the Proving Grounds. He is not as successful in road games, but is still considered the best keeper in the nation and is coming off a decent campaign, considering the low expectations..

Image LB: #2- Tim Marley (29, Rovers United, Zwangzug)
– An average frame, but an overall high work ethic. Very good with his overall positioning, and is not often going to be faked out by an opponent. Though he can be outmuscled.

Image LCB: #4- Scott Corellis (28, Pocono City Capitals)
– Complements Marley in that he is the strength on the left side of the defense. That is the thought process anyway, because these two have never actually played together before.

Image RCB: #5- Adrian O’Bryan (32, Kitara Athletic Association, Banija)
– An intelligent defender, but sometimes a little too overconfident. While he knows the game very well, and is very studious when watching game tape in preparation, he trusts himself a little too much.

Image RB: #3- Shawn Stoddard (27, Austin City, Xanneria)
– While Corellis is a strong player, Stoddard is the most physical of the group. He will not be shy to be aggressive towards the opponent and figures to lead the club in bookings. Was a fan favorite in Centralia and likely is becoming that with Austin City.

Image LM: #8- Jorge Cortez (28, Pocono City Capitals)
– Excellent two way player, that will both score goals and be one of the first ones back to defend. He has very good chemistry at home with Scott Corellis, and it should be expected that they will hook up once or twice for a goal.

Image CM: #9- Tyrone Vannella (30, Springfield Thoroughbreds)
– Has blazing speed and a ton of talent. Unfortunately, he is also known to be an arrogant player, and some players on the team might not be thrilled he is on the team. He’ll be the last one to show up at practice, and the first to leave. Not a fan friendly player, either.

Image RM: #12- Jarrell Connolly (28, Putnam Lake Eagles)
– Playing in Putnam Lake, where soccer is the most popular within Newmanistan, Connolly has a lot of pressure on him. Thankfully, he has always been able to handle that. He’s played with Vannella before, and despite their differing personalities, they have been known to play well together.

Image LS: #10- Brent Chapman (26, Tundra Falls Mariners)
– Has a hard shot and is very accurate with it. He’s not going to do much else for the team, though. Can be beaten by a strong defender.

Image ST: #15- Jerome Beyer (29, South Charlotte Condors)
– An astute passer, Beyer will be looking to set up either Chapman or Schaefer, or another Rocket more then he will be looking to put shots on goal himself. Very creative with the ball and getting by defenders.

Image RS: #11- Derek Schaefer (28, Southport Tigers)
– Figures to be the team leader in goals. While Chapman has a harder and more accurate shot, Schaefer has more overall skill that will allow him to get more shots on net. He’s no slouch with his shot power or accuracy either, though.

Regular Substitutes:
GK: #21- Aaron Scarpa (32, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #6- Calvin Douglas (29, South Tier Seagulls)
CB: #7- Thomas Caprotti (28, Loudon Leopards)
MID: #13- Dirk Donato (29, Dover City Mountaineers)
MID: #17- Samantha Paschke (31, Centralia Firebirds)
ST: #14- Jimmy Halligan (28, Jessicaville Millionaires)
ST: #16- Antonio Cruz (25, Penthoria Riverman)

Reserves:
GK: #25- Jesse Gallant (29, Olympia Gladiators)
CB: #22- Neil Blades (21, North Charlotte Wildcats)
CB: #23- Eli Watson (27, Brighton Bulls)
MID: #18- Peyton McLeod (27, Nashua Broncos)
MID: #26- Saquon Shields (29, Loudon Leopards)
ST: #19- John Baker (28, Pocono City Capitals)
ST: #24- Shane Shuster (21, Daytopia Racers)

Manager- Miguel Hernandez (52, Jessicaville Millionaires)
Formation: 4-3-3
Skill Modifier: +1.2
Uniforms: Home- Sky blue with white trim; Away- Black with sky blue trim; Keeper- Yellow with sky blue trim. If conflict- White with sky blue trim

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod Scoring Events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes, but only say they are hurt. I will determine the severity.
Godmod injuries to my players: No

Hand out Red cards to my players: Yes, but no more then one more then you give yourself.
Godmod Other Events: No

Interested in a Newmanistanian player to transfer to your domestic league?
– The Empire of Newmanistan Soccer League (ENSL) provides an opportunity for our best soccer players to make a good living and pays them fairly enough, so it’s not as if these players are not making good money and living a good life with good enough fan support. However, soccer, or as you may say, football, is not as big in Newmanistan in comparison to other sports. Therefore, they are likely to be convinced and interested in the prospects of playing in a league with a higher profile. Ones that do those domestic club competitions. If you are interested in a player, simply TG me and it is highly likely I will say yes as long as I consider your league to be at least equivalent to the ENSL. If you’re just developing your league and are interested, I ask that you target subs and reserves first. Those transfers will probably be accepted.

Black jerseys, black shorts and black socks. The jersey also features the kanji in the nation's flag although the colors are obviously reversed. It doesn't have a proper representation because it was deemed too cool for your eyes.

This is most certainly not a non-eco-friendly, non-al-dente light and fluffy slice-of-life four-panel about all of them just doing fluffy things every day.
This is actually a football roster with the intention to participate in the Campionato Esportiva while also giving some experience to the wave of recent graduates of the Hinodejin youth football system and as such, they'll be playing in a 4-4-2 formation.
All is according to the prophecy of the Cup Noodle God, Ramen-ra.
Now tell Northwestern Kalactin to spell the bloody name of the tournament correctly.

RP PERMISSIONS
As you might've noticed, this team is actually entirely human for once. Please don't kill the players. Injuries for large stretches of time have to be informed by telegram, or else they'll get the ignore canon treatment. Anything else (bar anything that destroys any city of the empire or its' people, just in case anyone gets a bit too creative) is fine by me.

FILINDOSTAN
National Football Team
Campionato Esportiva 26

The Filindostan Football Federation is pleased to present the Filindostan National football team, to compete in the 26th Campionato Esportiva, hosted here in Filindostan.

About the Filindostan Football Federation

The Filindostan Football Federation (FFF) was founded after they split from the Filindostani National Sports Commission (FNSC), citing the FNSC's tainted image during the Multiverse Boxing.ccanization boxing tournament and the budget cut the agency suffered. The newly-established federation caters to the nation's footballing affairs and sanctions the selection of the senior, under-21 and under-15 squads. The FNSC will remain the agency for fielding other national football teams that are not sanctioned by the FFF.

The FFF's headquarters are located in San Marco, Filindostan, and is headed by Estrelitta "Estie" Barzagia.

Playing Squad

In Filindostan, people are often called by their nickname. Some players opt to put their nickname instead of the customary last name in their kits. The shirt names for the squad are noted by ALL CAPS. So for example, Alexander Jampang's shirt name in his kit is ALEX JAMPANG. Likewise Antonio Rafael Vera will have his kit name as TONYO.

After Ethel Toh took over the managerial duties, she ordered the change in kit names, bearing the surname of the player and the initials. For example, before the Toh era, Cahya Kartawijaya had her kit name as 'CAHYA', but during the Toh era, it is currently 'C.S. KARTAWIJAYA'. New manager Xavier Rinoso looks to keep the new trend moving forward, with one exception - singular names will be kept singular (e.g. Dwi, Sutikno, Siharto, etc.)

The following players are called up into the national team for the tournament.

After a fairly satisfying debut for Krisna Sudirman, who took the Pula Garuda to the quarterfinals of the Cup of Harmony and was a few minutes away from sending them to the semifinals, the ex-Venividicci manager has decided to put some of his more experienced players to rest, and call up several players who have not yet been capped at senior level. The players called were all playing for domestic clubs at the moment, with the youngest player being Perodos' Muhammad Herawan (OOC: ignoring the recent transfer of Herawan to a Taeshani club since the timeline of the CE26 was set to mid-90013, in which he was still playing for Perodos).

This is a risk duly taken by the manager, as he wanted to give the younger players a chance to prove themselves at international level.

Kits
Image

Local kit supplier, No Nonsense, provides the kits for the Pula Garuda. The kits will be used until Margaret knows when. They have used the current kits from their debut in the Baptism of Fire tournament which they won. The home kits are clad in red and are usually paired with black shorts and white socks. For color clashes in shorts and socks, they use their all red kit. Their alternate kit is white, usually with red shorts and socks, but can be black shorts and white socks in case of color clashes. The goalie kit is all black (or in black shorts and socks), but in case of color clashes, a yellow version of the GK kit is available.

Team RP and Permissions
The below information will help teams RP against my team in case they RP first.

Lineups
Krisna Hendra Sudirman always loves a 3-at-the-front formation, based from his Venividicci lineups whilst being a manager there. The selection of wingback players who can also play center back have put hints about him possibly playing either a 4-3-3 or a 3-4-3 lineup. Despite putting three at front, he employs a defensive midfielder, which puts balance to his playstyle. He did not impose this style at the World Cup 84 qualifiers knowing that disrupting their formation early on would put his players with a lot of stress.

Unlike previous managers who do not have a set lineup, he chooses his starters once tune up friendlies are done, and will do so once the team arrives at the host nation.

Play Style
Historically, the play style of the team is of a more attacking lineup, looking to score more goal scoring opportunities. The team usually utilize pacey wingers to deliver dangerous balls to the penalty box during coordinated attacks. Filindostani players are usually physical, especially the defenders. Cautions are mostly common due to their physical plays.

With Sudirman's appointment as manager, he tries to balance the style of his team, balanced between attack and defense, usually to less effect, as they only had a single clean sheet during the tournament, and have conceded a total of eight goals during the playoffs itself.

Fans
Filindostani fans are double-edged swords - sometimes they are most passionate fans in Filindostan, sometimes, they can be compared to the worst of internet trolls. Around five thousand diehard fans will travel to the host nation to watch their team play - but they usually bring their megaphones and flares with them - they somehow make it past the guards. Some fans are crazy enough to invade the pitch and cause match delays.

Unused Kit Numbers
12 - Reserved for the 12th man (fans)
21 - Unofficially retired in honor of Lorenzo Mark MATIENZO

HAMPTON ISLAND GOLDEN BEARS
National Soccer Team

Soccer is not a popular sport in Hampton Island. It ranks somewhere down the list after baseball, motorsports, football (the one with an egg shaped ball), basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and maybe even golf. Fine, it is ahead of golf. Hampton Island does not have a national professional soccer league. There are areas where smaller regional leagues take place, but nothing organized on a national level.

This is the same mixture of actual soccer players and professional models as appeared in the World Cup. Players with a (*) next to them are one of the actual soccer players and should be considered our top players. The manager is also a model.

Setting: Stadium CEO chats with manager Hannah Sanders

CEO: So good to see you again, sweetie.

Sanders: Like, thanks for having me.

CEO: It was a good time we had in the World Cup qualifiers and the Cup of Harmony that I have decided to bring you back for your amazing expertise for a regional soccer tournament.

Sanders: Uhmm yeah like sure I guess like I think it will be fine. You will, like, give me money again, right?

CEO: Good. It’s going to be the same mix of players. There will be five games in the nation of Filindostan and then you come home. Sure, sweetie, I will give you some money for it.

Sanders: Just, like, five games ok. So, like, basically much shorter then the World Cup.

CEO: Yes. Perhaps you make the knockout stages, but likely five games and then you are back.

Sanders: Yeah like sure it might be fun.

CEO: We sucked in this last time.

Sanders: Oh no!

CEO: It was awful.

Sanders: I hope we like do better.

CEO: Maybe. You ever hear of someone named Hana Bhe?

Sanders: Who?

CEO: She’s a NSSCRA driver.

Sanders: Oh like I thought ours were like Alex, James, and Kevin.

CEO: Not our NSSCRA driver.

Sanders: Oh okay.

CEO: Here’s a little story about Hana Bhe. One year, she tried NSSCRA. She stunk. She finished last or near last in all of her races. She had a charter, so she a guaranteed spot for a while, but she crashed more then she finished, it seemed. She was so bad that NSSCRA took away her charter.

Sanders: Okay then.

CEO: But she didn’t give up. Despite being so terrible last year, she came back this year with a vengeance, and gradually started doing better and better. Now, even though she still hasn’t won a race, she is respected among all of her competitors now. See, Hannah, I want you to be like Hana. I want you to take this team that was so pathetic last time, and turn it into a team that people will at least, respect. How about that?

Sanders: That sounds hard. But like I will try.

CEO: Good, you try Hannah. Let’s see if we can, perhaps, do halfway decently.

Sanders: Yes, sir!

And lo, the Burgeoisie decided the Campionato was worth their time. And the football was good.

Burgburgh sits on a high, dry, sun-baked plateau where only the hardiest vegetation survives. As a result their economy revolves around livestock, leveraging animals that can take the barest inputs and produce something of value. The ranchers of the nation are hardy and determined, and that extends past their work to their pastime--the sport of football.
Style: 0

Starters
GK - Levi Odell - Burga - Foreman at one of the Burgburgh's few, and very valuable, hops farms. Likes to leave a bitter taste in the mouths of opposing strikers.
LB - Jojo Gärtner - Burgtopia FC - One of the city-based rooftop ranchers. Watches too much anime and strikes stupid poses after doing something mildly noteworthy.
CB - Anacleto Torres - Los Burgeles FC - Dairy specialist, whole division. Has a viscous stare.
CB - Hyram Tolbert - AFC Hamburg - Local ranchhand that likes kicking people.
RB - Cailin Walker - Burgerdam FC - Irrigation engineer. Great at cutting off routes.
LM - Erick Honeycutt - Burgham Bulls - Beekeeper. Swift as a bee and stings like a bee.
CM - Patty McNamara - Burg City Excelsior - Safety inspector that handles the nation’s largest ranches. Tireless and sharp-eyed.
CM - Cándido Samuel - Brugopoli SC - Procurement specialist for a conglomerate of fast food chains. Distribution specialist for the team.
RM - Wendolyn Fairburn - Burgburgh Royale - Spokesperson for Down Home Burg Kitchen, the leading casual restaurant. Has had several controversies over how much time she actually spends on the ranch. Very technical on the pitch.
ST - “Sunshine” Lewin - Burg City Excelsior - Greenhouse engineer. Tends to take overly optimistic shots.
ST - Celeste Forester - Burga - Soil quality scientist. Adapts to poor pitch conditions very quickly.

Subs
GK - Rebeccah Ledford
XB - Bennett Courtenay
XB - Efraín Habich
XB - Trenton Salinas

XM - Riley Wirnhier
XM - Francisco Del Olmo

Pace, pace and pace. Brelk-Xeral's mantra isn't hard to understand. They have their side set up to overwhelm opponents with a high press, crowding them with bodies and it's impressive how well-drilled they are considering the limited amount of time international teams get on the training ground. It might be overly simplistic to say they just harry opponents into mistakes and capitalise, but... God, they are good at that. Wheeler, their lethal wingers and the overlapping runs from the fullbacks are relied upon to break down parked buses, as well as the bulk of their centre-halves from set pieces.

Staff
Manager - Brelk-Xeral Erv (QUS) - Age 47
Asst. Manager - Jess Curtin - Age 44

Brelk-Xeral is a visionary. The canny Qusmo is a strong tactician with a forthrightness that gets things done, and their appreciation for open, attacking football meshes nicely with the Southern school of Brenecian football. They favour a solid, trusted core of talent, like Jim Reid - unlike Jim Reid, they are ruthless when it comes to removing players who can no longer pull their weight. The astute former international midfielder Jess Curtin offers the local touch as assistant, having survived the change in regime.

Goalkeepers
Core
1 - GK - Cass Farrell (Image Northern Union) - Age 28 - 34 caps, 8 clean sheets
Raw-boned and confident, perhaps to a fault; Farrell worked hard on the training pitch to beat the errors out of her game, and it seems to have paid off. She's an excellent keeper in the Mathis Woodgate mould. Not really a sweeper, not great with the ball at her feet, accurate long distribution, and a near-unparalleled shot-stopper.

12 - GK - Opal Cairncross (Image Marketville) - Age 27 - 5 caps
A hard worker with high ambitions, Cairncross overcame the fatal flaw of not being especially tall or broad to succeed as a goalkeeper in Eura when she hadn't in Brenecia. Faintly bizarre, but she's a skilled and hardened shot-stopper with her sights set high.

20 - GK - Scathach Wright (Image Raynor City United) - Age 24 - Uncapped
An energetic and zealous sweeper, an acrobatic shot-stopper, an inspired distributor - Wright does a lot, and occasionally will make an error, but that's worth it. She is set for the very, very top.

Defenders
2 - RB - Caithe Shepherd (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Quick feet, big future.

3 - LB - Deimne Watermark (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Watermark is a sharp young defender, but his main claim to fame is once throwing up hungover during an A-League match the Stallions lost 8-0 as they claimed the title regardless.

5 - CB - Garrett Horgan (Image Northern Union) - Age 30 - 44 caps, 8 goals
A brawny enforcer who doesn't mind putting a bit of stick about. Horgan was one of Union's youth products at the time of their fall from grace; he had to put up with being shopped around on loan until his hometown club got back to the second tier, and ever since his return, he's helped them from that ignominy to a Champions Cup final. But he's the same bouncer as ever.

6 - CB - Keane Mathers (Image Northern Stallions) - Age 27 - 35 caps, 3 goals
Mathers is a shaved bear. That's pretty useful in a centre-half. He's clean on the ball, even relatively clean off it, knowing how to stay on the right side of the referee as he gently but firmly escorts his charges off to the edges. Unbeatable in the air, and even relatively not slow despite his bulk.

18 - RB - Sorcha Lonergan (Image Northern Union) - Age 24 - 13 caps, 1 goal
Lightning-quick, Lonergan's attacking play could use work but she's already a resolute defender with an excellent mentality and a hunger to learn. She's tireless and energetic, and her concentration never slips.

19 - LB - Morwen Prentice (Image Farrenton Athletic) - Age 26 - 43 caps, 1 goal
A lean, elegant fullback, comfortable with the ball at her feet. Her confidence and technique will take her far if she can sharpen up defensively, but she isn't young anymore and needs to take that next step in her career.

22 - CB - Finn Leadbetter (Image Holdenberg) - Age 22 - Uncapped
A colossal defender who loves to put a bit of stick about. The art of defending and the joy of defending remain alive whenever Leadbetter is on the pitch. His destiny is to rise high.

Midfielders
4 - DM - Finn Townsend (Image North Hall) - Age 25 - 6 caps
A pure destroyer, with youth and verve to burn. Is a game really complete without a caution? Oh, Townsend is nothing but dirt - and the occasional rocket at goal. There's definitely scope to develop further, but he can do a very straightforward job as things stand.

8 - CM - Elysse Matheson (Image Hornchurch, c) - Age 26 - 58 caps, 16 goals
A pacy, frictionless midfielder, Matheson passed up the chance to develop at high-flying Rozelle to slum it at Hornchurch, doing the hard yards in Eura. It's already brought out a new dimension in her. She's not a passing playmaker, but a driving force from midfield, eager to make a mark on the edges of the box.

13 - CM - Corby Wheeler (Image Ramusok United) - Age 28 - 96 caps, 31 goals
A sharp, ambitious midfielder who is constantly darting in and about the danger zone. Has a great vision and a passing range that doesn't quite match it, and can fade out of games, but as a mercurial game-changer she's without equal in the side. After being a major culprit in Reid's downfall, Wheeler's had a new lease of life after the change in management.

14 - CM - Esther Caitiff (Image Southern Star) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Expert at deft touches and ankle-taps.

21 - CM - Riona Parker (Image Galatica) - Age 26 - 17 caps, 2 goals
A lithe, diligent playmaker, Parker has a street footballer's talent for a clever first touch, an egotist's penchant for long shots and her own penchant for cheating. If anyone on the team is going to totally feign contact and dive, it's her. By all accounts, a far nicer person off the pitch than on it.

23 - DM - Ronan Fallon (Image Newrook City) - Age 26 - 13 caps
Fallon loves to defend, and properly get stuck into opponents. There is nothing subtle about his style, and he'll never go missing on the pitch. Well, unless he's sent off, of which there is a non-zero risk. He knows his ability on the ball is limited and doesn't try to overstretch it.

Forwards
7 - RW - Lauren Cheney (Image Spartangrad) - Age 25 - 55 caps, 18 goals
Much of the hope for the Brenecian future hangs on Cheney's broad shoulders. A street footballer at her heart, Cheney has a very un-Brenecian ego problem, and expresses it in very Brenecian passive-aggression and a need to work harder and better than anyone and everyone around her. Fast, tough, and with an eye for goal.

9 - ST - Mhacha White (Image Farrenton Athletic) - Age 20 - 3 caps, 1 goal
Like Ursula Rankin, White made her way through FC Endeavour's overclocked reserves program, the Centre for Excellence before seeking regular minutes elsewhere; like Ursula Rankin, she's a boxy poacher with a quick switch of pace and a great eye for turning. But she's tall. And might actually have a few more strings to her bow, too. She's raw right now, but in the future...

10 - ST - Kara Ciogach (Image Lajuno) - Age 27 - 47 caps, 28 goals
The shining new hope of Brenecia's strikers, Ciogach is, typically, Schottic. She even won a couple of caps for them. Nevertheless, here she is. She's ambitious, strong despite a lithe physique, fast as hell, and able to finish with either foot or the head. Without really meaning to, she's become the talisman of the team.

11 - LW - Tricia Pace (Image Northern Union) - Age 22 - Uncapped
It's all in the name, hon.

15 - RW - Nuada Speaker (Image North Hall) - Age 22 - Uncapped
Straightforward and orthodox.

16 - LW - Ceridwen Fletcher (Image Holdenberg) - Age 24 - 41 caps, 9 goals
It's hard not to couch Fletcher as Cheney's opposite; a tall, elegant Northerner, less versatile or direct but with a peach of a left boot that can be rapier or sledgehammer, depending on what's required. Her potential is immense, and there's every sign she'll fulfil it.

17 - ST - Creidne Lindauer (Image Cazadores Cathair) - Age 26 - 15 caps, 9 goals
Lindauer isn't versatile. She's very quick, very clever, and she's a very good finisher. Despite some people almost hoping for the unglamorous, outspoken forward to get found out for her hometown club, it's yet to happen, and she's flourished sufficiently to become an impact option for the Patriots.

CEYNE ISLES
Preferred Formation:
4-4-2
Style Modifier: 0
Playstyle: Like a crap lower-league Nepharim team, because they basically are. Big, strong and hardy.
Kit Supplier: from Anglatia
Captain: Karsten Riordan
Nickname: the Pirates
Pronunciation Guide: "You'd have to be insane to live in Ceyne."

Ranked 30th! Seems... pretty generous. There's a lot of players from domestic clubs this cycle, and they are all terrible.

Tactics
Image
First-choice lineup.
Built together through a handful of journeymen, most of whom have little professional experience. The Ceynes league is about as bad as professional leagues go, and while there's two sides from the capital, Falston, in the Nepharim lower leagues, they're mostly made up of, well, Nepharim. The Pirates have an excellent striker in Sophia Fortune, and the plan on the attack is basically just to get the ball to her. They're physical and their workrate is high, but the fitness of the locals may not be able to keep up with Brightwater's demands.

Staff
Manager: Madison Forrest - Age 49
Groomed as Monica Brightwater's assistant, Forrest is a director of football for the island as a whole as much as a coach on the day..

Goalkeepers
1 - GK - Anna St. Preux - Age 32 - New Island (SCT)
12 - GK - Rasmus Garrick - Age 26 - Falston United (NPH)
18 - GK - Evan Merrick - Age 26 - Shrove Wanderers

St. Preux has overcome mental illness and injury to recover in her late 20s, moving from the local league to Falston United and from there, recently, to newly-promoted Ritter Town of the second tier. She's still inconsistent, and can have a howler or two in her, but on her day is a very handy last resort.

Defenders
2 - RB - Tanya Landon - Age 32 - Imperial Falston
3 - LB - Rachel Bastoni - Age 24 - Falston Bohemians
5 - CB - Providence Mensah - Age 30 - Peregrine (NPH)
6 - CB - Sherry Brosnan - Age 22 - Falston United (NPH)
13 - CB - Murgen Knox - Age 30 - Maal Daemons (MRN)
19 - RB - Corsica Greene - Age 25 - Chenoworth Harriers (NPH)
22 - LB - Anselm Culverton - Age 27 - New Rozelle

Murgen Knox is a murderous street brawler, Greene a canny, bitty fullback who excels going forward. Both Brosnan and Bastoni may yet have brightish futures, but the left side is certainly weaker than the right.

Midfielders
4 - HM - Wellbeing Sullivan - Age 21 - Roschester City
7 - RM - Susanne Mpenza - Age 22 - Uryanspor (TMR)
8 - CM - Memphis Commons - Age 25 - FC Samotath (COS)
11 - LM - Rabican Monrow - Age 23 - IFK Liverpool United (DAR)
15 - CM - Valerie Avery - Age 27 - New Rozelle
16 - LM - Drea Bouman - Age 22 - Falston United (NPH)
18 - HM - Jeorge Morgan - Age 26 - Roschester Pride
20 - RM - Franziska Westmead - Age 26 - Brunswick Town

What was once a weakness is now a relative strength. Mpenza is a fiery, unflappable pace merchant, Commons a sly, clever and streetwise box-to-box woman, Monrow a tall, lean and cunning winger. Rather than bolster this core of emerging talents with a veteran, well, no such player unfortunately exists with Kindness Nkembe hanging up the boots. Wellbeing Sullivan will be playing for a foreign contract, kicking opponents into submission.

Forwards
9 - ST - Kilroy Holden - Age 26 - Roschester City
10 - ST - Sophia Fortune - Age 31 - Manechester United (EQS)
14 - ST - Gideon Rowan - Age 29 - Imperial Falston
17 - ST - Esther Fortune - Age 31 - Falston United (NPH)
21 - ST - Crowley Mathers - Age 24 - AFC Westpike (BRE)

There is a very clear standout name here. Sophia Fortune is good enough to have been on the fringes of a Nephara callup long ago, thought to miss out only because her abrasive personality clashed with the calm waters that Michael Brandon wanted to encourage. A consistent goalscorer at a high level, she still carries threat into her thirties. The younger Fortune sister is a lot easier, helps keep Sophia in check and has a decent enough scoring record in the lower leagues. Crowley Mathers is already on his third club, but has a natural goalscoring talent reminiscent of Sophia Fortune without being, you know, a psychotic diva.
Former Nepharan territory, former Anglatian puppet, current Brenecian puppet. It's complicated, but probably not as much as it sounds.

Zeta Reka & Hügeltaldom Federativna Republika Zeta Reka i Hügeltaldom
Campionato Esportiva Twenty-Six Report Match One Preview

the Zeta Reka Football Team landed humbly on the island of Pelita Raya. The rag tag team of all stars only dealt with a small party of reporters on arrival. With or without fanfare, the squad is confident in their abilities. “It’s a great opportunity” Miloš Simeoniwić told a Zeta Reka correspondent, “We’re playing teams with some big pedigree, I think we’ll get a lot of experience. Punch above our weight too.” Zeta Reka may need Simeoniwić's optimism as four of the five opponents Zeta Reka faces are top twenty sides.

From what was seen in friendlies, there will be a slight stagger to the midfield on the attack as David Dix starts further from the line than his partner Rybki. This uneven set up allows for Dix to backup the striker as much as the wings. Rybki is a reliable passer from across the thirds and can afford not charging forward on every possession. Once the ball is forward, Hokwok will take advantage of a license to roam. Coach Perlog trusts the veteran’s experience as a solo forward is worth banking on. For attacks which start from behind, Janko Yakowić is a key factor, acting as threat on both the horizontal and vertical planes. Shorter range plays can be made to the speedy wings, who make up for a lack of big match experience with youth.

On the defensive end, a mid or low block can be used, with the choice depending on he opponents attacking style. Hokwok, or backup Rawić are to be stationed a bit outside of the block to keep a quick attacking option open on the counter. In domestic matches, Hokwok has often been seen. away deep lying members of an opposing attack. Pressing and counter pressing have as of yet not been consistent or common plays from a team that is still finding it feet together.

Starting lineup and formations
Image

Ethane are the first tournament opponent in national history. With a 0-2-1 record in friendlies, head coach Janko Perlog has made some tweaks to the squad. A full strength lineup has been assigned for this contest. “I think a lot of people will be shocked” Mullow Dorboslawić said stroking his soul patch at the Yogyakulta international airport. “We really can win the games we’re in.” Domestic pundits are not downplaying any of the competition in from the country, but are predicting some upset results. A front loaded schedule means any early points are a great sign, but three losses in a row would be catastrophic for Esportiva's newest tyros.

THE ROCKET REPORT

ROCKETS HOPEFUL FOR SUCCESS

by Brianne Henry,

With the World Baseball Classic in the books, the sporting world is getting set for tournaments in sports like basketball and volleyball while keeping tabs on what is going in the motorsports. The region, meanwhile, is set to undertake its great soccer tournament, the 26th rendition of the Campionato Esportiva. It is one of the three main regional soccer tournaments, and naturally the world saves the best one for last. The Copa Rushmori is done, the AOCAF is getting there, and with all of that noise gone, soccer fans can focus on the happenings here in Esportiva. After being co-hosted by Newmanistan last year, we can now set our sights on Filindostan, who promises to put on a great show for all of the nations involved.

Newmanistan comes into the tournament looking pretty good, all things considered. They are ranked #8 in the region, and as the pot 2 team, will be a nation that is favored to advance to knockouts. That is not particularly difficult to do, mind you, since 16 out of the participating 24 nations will do so. However, for the Rockets the motivation will be proving themselves as more then just a qualifier, but as a nation that could win the competition. That would create positive momentum into the World Cup 85 qualifiers, where the Empire figures to a pot three team, depending on the ultimate group format. That will be a big step forward for them from where they were before the start of the qualifiers for World Cup 84. The Rockets gave both Audioslavia and Sargossa a major scare before settling on a third place finish. With that, their ranking is improved to #47. With the two hosts already ranked ahead of them, Newmanistan is then within the top 45 to be a pot three team in a format of 15 or more groups, which is probably going to happen.

The team is back together now and ready for action, because that momentum is critical. Group opposition includes #2 Hinodejin Empire and #14 Ancherion as our biggest opponents, but the rest of the group is not going to go away easily. #21 Ceyne Isles and #37 Hampton Island will look to have a good tournament, and Hampton Island is coming off a good run in the Cup of Harmony, so odds are that they will be pesky. An unranked team also exists in the form of a nation wanting to have Esportivan territories so they could do this tournament, too. The official name of that country is Kalactanian Esportiva Territorys. Yes, the misspell of territories is the official name, so don’t go crazy in the comments acting as if I was the one who did that. That is our first opponent.

Mattijanan Roster and Information for Campionato Esportiva 26

The Story So Far

Despite a series of fairly average results in the World Cup, Mattijana have risen to the position of regional heavyweights within Esportiva. Successive bronze medals in the 20th and 21st tournaments were finally broken by a second-place finish in the 22nd addition, despite a 5-0 drubbing by Brenecia in the final. They finally claimed the big one last time round though, beating the same opposition by 2 goals to 1, winning their first tournament in the process. Despite missing key players, the squad backed up that result at CE 24, beating Damukuni in the third-place play off to win another bronze medal, but suffered a disappointing round of 16 exit at CE 25, one that we like not to talk about.

Despite continued regional success however, the country, including Dusan Vukoja's employers at the MattijanaFusBand, became increasingly unhappy with Mattijana's dismal attempts at qualifying for a World Cup and despite a decent fist of it in which the team threw away their chances of a playoff with a 0-0 draw at lowly Saintland, Vukoja resigned before he got the chance to be sacked. There has been a hefty amount of turnover in the squad in recent months and the team has been rocked by the departure of all-time scorer Mathilde Lekarisa to birth-country Saint Émelie.

In an unorthodox attempt to salvage things, former FK Shalkar boss Zala Stefanidi was appointed just before Cup of Harmony 75. However, a poor showing there, and Mattijana's worst Campionato Esportiva in 6 attempts have already piled pressure onto the new manager, placing Mattijanan football into a state of disarray at the time.

Stefanidi's international career was however resurrected by a promising qualifying campaign in which despite a tough group, they nearly managed to make it their first major tournament. Team, manager and fans will hope that signals the end of the transition period and the start of some genuine success.

Team Info

World Rank: 61
Esportivan Rank: 7
Style Modifier= +1.5
National Association: MattijanaFusbalBand (MFB)
Kits: Image

Formation

Head Coach: Zala Stefanidi

Assistant Manager: Dominik Samikov (FK Burges)

The assistant manager at Championship leaders FK Burges hails from the North-East of Mattijana and began his career at Dinamo Legisaw, another division 2 side before then moving as one of the tactical staff to FK Burges, where he has since worked his way up the pecking order to assistant manager. He has an excellent tactical mind as well as good player welfare skills and helps out Ljubanik in both management areas. He has so far proved himself to be a capable aid.

Head Scout: Marcel Kuzbacher

Marcel Kuzbacher is a seasoned scout, mainly plying his trade for the famed Puljanka Academy. He has links with numerous players in the Mattijanan squad as well as the under-21 side and makes up the 3-man selection panel alongside Samikov and Ljubanik.

Fitness Coordinator: Jelena Neumanič

Jelena Neumanič is responsible for the diet and fitness of the squad, freeing up the main management team to think about tactical matters. She has a solid variety of exercises and is well-known for getting on player's backs if they don't keep up with their expected effort levels.

Psychologist: Samira Kazmir

Samira Kazmir is an experienced sports psychologist who has done work for both the summer and winter Olympic teams, the Mattijanan ITT side and the MRT motor racing team. She is responsible for the mental welfare of players, stretching from the collective mind-set to more personal issues for each individual in the squad. It's a far-reaching and often complicated task.

The Medical Team:

Head Doctor: Dr Charlotte Smitič
Assistant Doctor: Dr Mattias Buranov
Physio: Martina Laramazič
Physio: Mika Glasnić

The Players:
GK-Lucija Handanovic-#12-Age 29-FK Revinka
Understudy to Matej Handanovic for most of Ljubanik’s tenure, Lucija is again favourite to start between the sticks for Mattijana in the upcoming qualifiers. The 25 year old has impressed for club side Revinka in the recent season with both solid performances and heroic clean-sheets and will be tricky to keep out of a starting place.

LB-Helena Neumann-#2

The Burges Player is a regular in the championship leading side and will provide a good defensive option with the occasional run forward to help out the wingers. Barring any injuries or unlikely suspensions, she will play all of Mattijana's matches,

CB- Rikard Illicić-#14
The first Mattijanan player to move abroad, specifically to the top division in Buyan, Illicić was widely expected to replace Edvard Crajasović in the starting lineup on the retirement of the ledgendary centre back and now has. He is modelled in a similar style as his predecessor too. He's big, he's strong and despite being slower than other defenders, he is able to stamp his authority on attackers with some gritty tackles.

CB-Katija Burnisevič-#4-Captain

Another Burges Player, Burnisevič is a potential answer to Crajasović's clumsiness and is a quick, skilful and sure-footed player capable of taking the fight to those attempting to run through. She is a dedicated player, happy to chase any lost cause until the ball crosses the line. Her lack of physical strength may be her weakness however and she could be a potential target for more powerful strikers.

RB-Kevin Krychowiak-#13-Age 25-Matbirjke
Another promotion from the under 23s, Krychowiak is a typical modern full-back with his pace and attacking mindset. Having succeeded Dominik Illisevic as first-choice full-back last cycle, he will need to build on some shaky performances against the pace that the world has to offer if he is to retain his place on the teamsheet.

LM-Sophia Velezia-#16
A mazy winger with less raw pace, but the ability to turn any defender into a messy knot, Velezia is a constant challenge to keep quiet on her day and normally gets through at some point if she hits top form. Her mercurial nature is her biggest and arguably only weakness, but Mattijana will be well-placed if she can get it together.

CM-Marko Hojbjerg-#7

Now a mainstay of the team at the age of 28, Hojbjerg is a playmaker with good awareness and passing ability and is the perfect fit for Ljubanik's technical brand of football. Useful for connecting the more attacking players ahead of him, he is also integral in providing the start or the killer pass in a counter-attack. When no forward options are available, he's not afraid to hit one and occasionally finds the back of the net from improbable ranges.

CM-Katarina Jakupovic-#15
Former captain of Mattijana’s under-23 side, Jakupovic is a part of Vukoja’s turn to a more attractive style with Jago Adrianov, the midfield enforcer out and the instinctive passer promoted to a starting role. The 26 year-old Snezn player has impressed with both her technique and maturity in the early years of her career and is touted as a future Mattijanan captain after a successful run in the Under-23s.

RM-Jessika Struna-#9

A pacey winger who's preferred play is to make a run and then a cross, the 29 year old Struna is a dynamic and different part of the Mattijanan team. Tipped for a move to Petrovijanka or Burges, Struna chose to stay at Revinka, close to her family and in the town she loves.

CAM-Mattias Hoffman-#8-Age 27-Rapid Petrovijanka
Hoffman established himself as an impact player during the 79th cycle, scoring twice from the bench and making a substitute appearance in 15 of the 18 games. He offers a dynamic and direct approach when required and has cut open tired defences on a number of occasions. His consistency across longer periods has so far kept him out of the first team, but he remains a very useful and versatile player for Vukoja.

FW- Kara Lorenzič, age 25, Matbirjke

With Mathilde Lekarisa departing the Mattijanan setup in favour of the warmer climes of Saint Émelie, Matbirjken youngster Kara Lorenzič has been thrown into the starting line up for Mattijana. The pacey, direct forward was introduced on numerous occasions during World Cup qualifying and played reasonably well, offering a threat from the incisive through balls of the midfield and the testing low crosses of her wingers. Despite that, she is still young and the shoes of record scorer Lekarisa are big ones to fill.

The Bench:
GK-Matej Handanović-#1
The 32 year old Mattijanan number 1 plays under Matej Ljubanik at FK Petrovijanka and has been a solid, if unspectacular option between the sticks for most of his career. He has good handling skills and makes few mistakes, but could be replaced if he fails to make the spectacular stops expected of him. He may also face renewed competition from the younger and more dynamic Martin Vaskaric.

RB-Dominik Illisević-#5

Now a regular for FK Puljanka, Illisević is a punchy and pacey player with outstanding fitness and good crossing ability. His defensive technique is the biggest question mark, but if he can have a solid match at the back, he will undoubtedly be a danger coming forward.

CB-Ana Sevastova-#27-Age 23-FK Snezn

Young north-easterner Sevastova is the stereotypical centre-back from her region. Tall, strong and tough as ice, she has worked her way into the starting line-up at Snezn and with the retirement of Edvard Crajasovic, has now earned herself a call-up to the national side. Provided Illicic and Burnisevic remain fit and reasonable in form, she probably won't make too many appearances this cycle, but is certainly one for the future.

LM-Sofiane Bisrali-#6
From the less familiar setting of Shalkar in the South-East, Bisrali has the pace and skill that Vukoja is looking for in his wingers. Replacing the mercurial Sophia Velezia in the starting line-up, the 25 year old has a lot to live up to early in his career, but has the chance to do it on the biggest stage.

CAM-Juliana Kjofmann-#22-Age 27-Weststrand FK

Kjofmann, heralding from the windy climes of the Mattijanan west coast, has learned how to play with the ball on the deck and has made her strengths count at local team WestStrand. She might not pull off all her passes, but the ones she gets right will be enough to cause problems for any opposing defence.

FW-Andreas Weiss-#11

The 33 year old Burges Striker has been a fixture in the Mattijanan team for a while now and has matched his performances for the national side with consistent scoring form for FK Burges. He is a poacher with the ability to be in the right place at the right time for any pull-back into the box. Also a good header of the ball, Weiss will be an intimidating target for high crosses if the Mattijanan plan-B is needed.

ST-Daniella Alaba-#18-Age 29-Puljanka
It is difficult to tell where Alaba's strengths really lie as she is relatively quick, but not lightening fast and despite good strength, she is no match for more bulky defenders. Where she is effective is as a goal poacher, using positioning to find space to latch onto crosses and loose balls from fairly close range.

The Reserves:

GK-Martin Vaskaric-#19-Age 24-FK Antalja
LB-Lara Ljunavic-#20-Age 30-FK Revinka
CM-Jasmina Kovac-#24-Age 22-Ljubala FK
FW-Matej Jokic-#26-Age 21- FK SavaFluss

THE SQUAD

GK: Carter Clemens, 30, Colanso City - A reliable presence between the sticks, Clemens 6ft5 frame does not impact his agility and allows him to collect high balls with ease and throw them out quickly.

GK: Earl Porcher, 23, Nagelti Rovers - An exciting keeper who has made a name for himself in the past couple of years with some jaw dropping saves.

GK: Stuart Pound, 26, Peswick Town - Renowned for his kicks that travel a great distance, Pound came up through the lower leagues to become one of the top keepers in the country.

RB: Chaz Grey, 24, Peswick Town - His languid running style disguises his tremendous work ethic, often topping running statistics as he bombs up and down the right.

RB: Emery Hodson, 23, Mortsey - More of a traditional full back, Hodson doesn't commit forward as much but makes up for it with huge defensive capabilities.

CB: Teddie Gilbert, 27, Colanso City (CAPTAIN) - Captain of the reigning three time JPL Champions, Gilbert's calm and assured leadership off the pcitch is at odds with his hard tackling, no nonsense style on it.

CB: Jerrard Lovell, 26, Rack City Rangers - With ice in his veins, he looks composed on the ball and often picks incisive passes into the midfield.

CB: Ridley Danielson, 25, Nagelti Rovers - Dependable at the back, Danielson's left footed curling balls up the pitch have become a trademark of his.

CB: Dan Robertson, 22, Panbury Town - A hometown hero in Panbury, Robertson makes the team after a breakout season in the JPL.

LB: Brendan Pain, 24, Rack City Rangers - Known for his looping crosses and deadly free kicks, Pain brings the X factor to the left hand side of any defence.

LB: Zak Peters, 25, Colanso City - Standing at only 5ft5, Peters is lighting down the left flank, able to outpace nearly any opponent.

CM: Reuben Sanderson, 24, Kyslo - The most naturally talented player in Jeckland, Sanderson's fast feet and eye for a pass make him a goal threat himself and a frequent assister from midfield.

CM: Matty Graves, 23, Colanso City - The engine in any midfield, Graves is always in the right position to contribute to both defence and attack.

CM: Billie Gibbs, 26, Serbury - Sprays passes all over the pitch. When they come off, they're magical - but will often go for a wonder pass where a simple one would suffice.

CM: Cleve Blanchard, 27, Panbury Town - An enigmatic character with a very active social media presence, Blanchard makes the squad after letting his football do the talking last season.

CM: Hamilton Sheppard, 27, Nagelti Rovers - Playing in the 10 role for his club, Sheppard is known for his abilities to press opposition defenders into mistakes.

CM: Raynard Deadman, 22, Peswick Town - An enforcer at the base of a midfield, will always look to intercept or tackle, even if it means picking up a card or two.

RW: Cree Martel, 20, Rack City Rangers - Lighting quick, two footed, and with a venomous shot, this winger is the hottest prospect in the country.

RW: Jeffery Peters, 22, Colanso City - Hard working winger who will never give the opposing left back an easy game with his all action play.

ST: Cyprian Stack, 24, Nagelti Rovers - Last JPL's top scorer is a natural finisher and his positional play is outstanding. If given service, he will score goals.

ST: Jeptha Lynton, 24, Yonsolo United - Not as prolific a goalscorer as other Jeckish strikers, but his hold up and link up play bring the best out of his team-mates.

LW: Kolby Dane, 23, Rack City Rangers - Loves to cut inside and shoot on his right foot but also has the ability to skin his man on the outside.

LW: Kimball Forest, 21, Kyslo - Has all the natural attributes to be a star, but still working on his decision making in attacking areas.

THE MANAGER

Kayden Ross is a 51 year old hailing from Lingham. He played football to a decent level in his younger years but found his feet as a coach and has been hired by the JFA to lead Jeckland into the new era. Favours a balance between attack and defence with a high work ethic and will line Jeckland up in a 4-3-3 formation.

RP PERMISSIONS

If you're RPing the match first, feel free to RP whatever you want in terms of goalscorers, match events and yellow cards. If you want to do anything 'unrealistic' or godmoddy I might be fine with it, but TG/Discord me first and only proceed if I give a approval. Similarly if you plan to give a player of mine a red card or injury that would rule them out of the next match, TG/Discord me first.

Filindostan Football Federation Office
San Marco, Filindostan

Janus "Tubad" Supting is a staff working for both the football federation and the State News Network, assigned to its sports division. He was subject of much criticism during his time as a football presenter, with the SNN finally giving him the 'axe', that is, assign him to another division. Most of the staff pleaded that despite the poor behavior he had in the past years, he was the best man to do the job of presenting sports events with the network, and Gabriel Olpur, the owner and CEO of the network, decided to reinstate him for the Campionato Esportiva presentations.

SNN was given the official contract along with the Filindostan State News Agency (FSNA), to officially cover the Campionato proceedings in Filindostan, which enabled Tubad to present his thoughts again to the viewers. In addition, he had been assigned to do clerical duties at the FFF, specifically to arrange the teams into pots for the day's group draw, which he will also be hosting. Due to the workload, he gave the scriptwriting to his assistants - however, he has habit of going off script, causing various networks to do adhoc segments, and worst, cut off an segment they initially planned to do and actually had been announced for the show. Worst of all, he includes topics too sensitive for young audiences, with statements or jokes almost going borderline sexual in nature, the latest of which actually caused his "dismissal" from the network.

At the day of the draw, Tubad was flawlessly going according to script, being on point with his interjections and humorous comments. However, things started to up once again as when Ceyne Isles were picked up from Pot 5, he realized that the nation should have been ranked high enough to be in Pot 4, in place of Vangaziland, who was at pot 4 at the time1. Realizing this mistake and fearing that the blame would go to him again, he made up stories to bring up a girl he hated in the office and put the blame on her, starting to blabber curse words on live television and threatening to provoke sexual assault to the woman. Men in black tuxedo escorted the raging Tubad out of the Anetta Coliseum where the draw was taking place, while the live draw cut into a commercial break. Fortunately, his co-host was able to carry on the draw herself, with the help of Estie Barzagia, chairwoman of the FFF, who herself made the draw.

The next morning, Gab Olpur made comments on his Peysbuk account regarding the incident:
Gab Olpur wrote:Two things:

1) Janus. We've had issues with Janus at previous events. Some of our people lobbied to bring him back for the Campionato Esportiva, feeling that he deserved another chance. That was a mistake. Janus is an ass, and we won't be working with him again.

2) As long as we're firing people, we are also firing the production company that we've been working with on the Campionato Esportiva. They will be replaced, and we hope to get this turned around before the start of the group stage.

As always, I can be reached at gab@snn.com.fid.

Gab

Gab hoped that this would be the final mistake the network would make before the opening ceremony in San Marco Stadium, where another mistake had put Filindostan playing their first match NOT at the National Stadium2.

OOC Notes
1 - For context for this, refer to my post two days ago.
2 - It was my mistake not to put Filindostan to position 1 in Group A so I can have them play at the main stadium. I could have swapped the stadiums for Group A, but I already predetermined the position of the stadium assignments prior to the draw.

Earo declares Environmental Disaster
Premier unsure if more islands will sink

Nawi Island, now completely submerged

CAYO COSTA - Earon Premier Sylvia Becket declared a nation wide Environmental Disaster yesterday following the evacuation of residents from Hog Island. Becket also confirmed that following a recent storm, Piaçabuçu Island has now become East Piaçabuçu Island and West Piaçabuçu Island, after storm surge severed the island in two. A rise in sea level caused by climate change has been noted as the reason for the two most recent events, as well as several other flooding events which have happened in recent years.

Hog Island, whose 13 residents have now been relocated to Big Island, is only 28 cm above sea level and has experienced at least three total submersions over the course of the present stormy season. While the island has so far returned from the depths following each storm, the SEU Environment Agency has grown increasingly worried that the next storm may be the island's last. Residents meanwhile have become fed up with the government's lack of action.

Phyliss Jeffery, who has served as the island's doctor for the past 20 years, stated, "The government had ample time to implement projects and strategies and the like to mitigate the effects of climate change in the islands. But they chose to focus on other things, like securing foreign investment and oil exploration."

Two other islands, American Island and Nawi Island, have already been fully submerged. Nawi Island, which also experienced significant erosion due to its location next to a particularly strong ocean current, is now under six meters of water. The SEU Environment Agency has listed four other islands as being in danger of suffering the same fate as Piaçabuçu Island. They did note however that those islands are unlikely candidates to become fully submerged as their highest points were many meters above sea level.

Premier Becket has stated that her office has been liaising closely with the SEU Environment Agency so that it can take a proactive approach to evacuating residents from danger zones. She stated, "As of right now, I do not believe an other islands will be lost under the sea, but we'll be conducting a massive survey to identify any problem areas."

Aston West, Chairman of the Southern Esportivan Union, is set to convene a meeting of the SEU Council to discuss the current situation in Earo and the SEU's plans going forward. The growing crime rate, primarily centered in Tanamera, will also be discussed.
