It makes a certain degree of sense, they're trying to get it in the conversation. When asked about it the candidates are going to essentially agree with their premise. They create more motion on their issue a bit by doing it.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Every debate has ended with the same story, "Trump was supposed to be watching but was mostly quiet on Twitter" surprise. It's not a surprise, ain't no way he has the attention span for this. Stop pretending he was going to make it all the way through this.

Harris drops, Pete drops a tad. Castro and O'Rourke go up a bit. I'm not even going to try and predict what happens with Yang.

I think Biden is going to slip after getting attacked several times again and his look of just utter defeat when the protestors started chanting among several small statements they made (referring to themselves as the vice-president purely in the present tense, for instance, at a few points).

Sanders, Yang and Warren should have been called on more and most of the other candidates should have been, like, stopped when they ran really long over their allotted times.

I think Harris, Booker and Biden will slip some, most everyone else is going to stay pretty steady.

Biden sinks, Warren rises, and Harris will spend the next five months struggling to remain relevant. I'll keep all that in mind.

Next month has the same qualifier with a longer window for the polls, which last I checked means that there's at least one more person on stage. There's still like nine other people not on the stage tonight still running for some reason, you gotta widdle through those cats first.

Biden and Harris had the shakiest nights overall, Yang and Buttiegieg started off weakly but managed rebound, everybody else had solid nights interspersed with individually strong moments.

Fundamentally, unless there's sudden downward movement in Biden's numbers, nothing will change because too many also rans at once are crowding each other out. None of them can grow substantially when they almost all look good to primary voters, it's causing menu paralysis.

Would they do a five and six person night? I don't know...you split the candidates but you also give them room to actually make their case. Kind of in favor of it really.
