She sneaks in to try and collect a sample of the girl to get a DNA sample. She gets attacked by the other mom and they fight. But then the other mom breaks down and "confesses" that she did steal the baby daughter.

The Australian husband hears this and he shakes his head in disbelief and walks away from his own wife... He's like... "Okay dude it looks like we're just going to have to give the baby daughter up. She was never ours."

He just very calmly takes this and is then shown handing over the daughter over at the end.

What a hilarious character, and he spoke with a thick Australian accent for the whole film...

Not especially a monarchist -- my country has a constitutional monarchy (and the monarch's powers are very limited; other monarchies are purely ceremonial); an elected upper house would also work for me -- but at least Boris Johnson can't call himself "President", so there's that.

But, sorry, if we're playing this game: Autocracy is the worse form of government (whether the leader calls themselves "Monarch", "President for Life", "Dear Leader" or any other title). Anyone with full and final rights to do whatever they like, without checks and balances, has too much power.

Absolute monarchies and dictators are both equally bad, I'd say. Any system that gives one person absolute power is equally bad.

But a constitutional monarchy, within an elected democracy is not. Constitutional monarchs have limited powers (some are basically highly paid ribbon-cutters, there purely for ceremonial events and with no actual powers at all). Dictators' powers are not similarly limited and the harm they can do is accordingly much higher.

I'm not a big fan of the monarchy. I'm even less of a fan of dictatorship.
