I agree, everyone ought to oppose Fascism, but Antifa's philosophy is not just opposition to Fascism, it is an opposition to Fascism by any means necessary, a philosophy that's not immoral or unethical to not hold.

Also, much of Antifa's broad stroke accusations of Fascism also reek of attempting to eliminate political opposition. Much of Antifa seems to think "Fascist" and "conservative" are synonyms.

DI just likes to take any opportunity to "dunk" on me. Plus, if memory serves, she's one of those unironic Nazbol types, so of course she'd think opposing fascism is a bad thing.

From what I know of DI's beliefs, calling her an "unironic NazBol" is quite dishonest.

I will say that it also is working the other way around, and a lot of people are getting worried that absolutely nothing is being called fascism at the same time. There was one popular individual who did the nazi salute, said the nazi chant, argued for deportations of legal citizens based on race (all non-whites), and I'm constantly told that he's not a fascist. It's getting a bit ridiculous in the other direction as well, as even fascist parties are being called "reactionary."

Antifa is not one organisation - at best, it's a group of organisations all with one goal (stop fascism), with some people involved who aren't affiliated with any particular anti-fascist group. Labelling the entire thing a domestic terrorist organisation, because of how loosely organised it is, could lead to non-Antifa antifascists (e.g nonviolent antifascists, antifascists who aren't part of an antifascist organisation, etc) getting treated as domestic terrorists, or violent antifascists not getting labelled domestic terrorists because they're not part of whatever Antifa is considered.

If it's an individual antifascist group that is being labelled domestic terrorists, then it depends on their conduct.

That's what makes this a transparent attempt to ban protests.

I saw it more as a way to hit every violent antifascist group at once, rather than pick off the groups one by one.

Also, if they have to make some sort of argument for why Antifa should be labelled a domestic terrorist group, they can point to any violent action by an antifascist group or person, rather than having to find instances for each individual antifascist group that they want considered domestic terrorists.
