Does anyone know if there's a likely bias in early election votes? Like, did one party encourage it more than the other.
“Every age and generation must be as free to act for itself in all cases as the age and generations which preceded it. The vanity and presumption of governing beyond the grave is the most ridiculous and insolent of all tyrannies. And those aren't in the sample that is being counted right now, if I understand it right? In which case, how confident are we that any of this tonight is actually really reflective of how it'll turn out?

While this election did have a record amount of prepolling, I doubt it would make a noticeable difference in the result.

Well, most of the press is saying these are going to be the expected results, though they have wavered at brief intervals. Even so, I think that the results in Queensland at least aren't going to change.

I'm truely shocked. More than the USA election. I expected Trump to win, I didn't expecting ScoMo

In retrospect, it was for much the same reason that Trump won, workers didn't want to see their jobs taken away even if there could be some benefit to it down the road. So the originally wavering Queensland became what it always was, a Coalition fortress.

My first vote went to small business party, my second vote to LNP. But sadly, I live in a safe seat, so, it maked very little difference

Think about how much damage Palmer has done. He’s acted as a stalking horse for the Libs and channelled any anti Morrison Govt protest away from Labor and back to the Libs.

Not that I’m absolving Shorten of any blame. Honestly the Hillary Clinton of Australian politics. When Labor will have another take-no-prisoners style leader like Keating, I will never know. Sigh.

Sadly, Labor's making a comeback. Go Libs! I hope you win this!

A comeback? Liberals are holding onto their seats in WA fairly well, they're going to win tonight...I say from America as the sun's rising.

I doubt that 40% havd even been counted in WA. It hasn't even been an hour since polls closed there!

There are only 8 seats left. It is literally impossible for the ALP to win. The best they could do is 73 seats.

I'm not sure about the Shorten point. He put together a strong set of policy proposals. The problem looks to me more like they went too hard on a Labor programme, when the country as a whole is clearly sitting on the fence.
