The present-day US Democratic Party is broadly globalist, pacifist, secular, progressive, multicultural, and rhetorically pro-equality + pro-democracy - while the present-day US Republican Party is broadly isolationist, militaristic, religious, traditional, assimilationist, and rhetorically pro-market + pro-authority. I don't think there's much difference between the parties on the other 2 axes in the Obama-Trump era, although the GOP was historically more unitary/less federalist than the Dems.
