This person is in fact a populist, and no one is more hated in DC than those
Which is why there's one in the Oval Office right now.

Attacking my credibility or legitimacy based solely off of a post that was to another user (your friend perhaps?) and therefore delegitimize my voice is an attempt to silence it, whether you are aware of that or not. It is a very common tactic used to shut down people.

we'll sure they don't *always* get delayed but cmonUxupox wrote:Great Confederacy of Commonwealth States wrote:No, they are delayed because they are huge construction projects, and huge construction projects always get delayed.
And even if it’s activists, you still have to keep that into account if you want to calculate a time frame.
Not true at all. Big construction projects don’t always get delayed. That’s a big assumption.

Yo try out Canada's newest board game, where you play competing construction companies on Federal contracts and have to do as little work as possible without getting audited
Seriously, it's a legit fun game, construction and corruption I believe

The idea that Gates or Bezos would have sat around on their asses given different tax is dumb, most people who start a business do it because they really like what they're starting, not necessarily to be a millionaire.
Both were somewhat in the right time at the right place to start something successful.Yusseria wrote:AOC keeps getting publicity because she somehow just can't stop herself from saying stupid things. But that does probably tend to happen when one is just naturally stupid.

I'd wager she's far more intelligent than you.

Wind is going to lead to lots of dead birds and massively blocked roads in strong winds. Solar can just cause the entire grid to explode if something like a solar flare happens (reminder that the last one was around 1821), causing large fires throughout the world, along with the usual shutting down of electricity and all that. And even if such a scenario were to be avoided, let us remember that solar power is also much more expensive and that clouds can break it. Nuclear is extremely safe, with only c. 100 people having ever died from it, well, that is, excluding nuclear weapons, but let's be honest here: nuclear reactors aren't nuclear bombs.
Building nuclear just takes too long. We need faster change than nuclear can provide.

Nuclear plants only take 5 years from the initial date of construction of the facilities.
Yeah, if everything goes to plan, which is most likely won't. It's construction after all. Most plans being built now are behind of schedule. Then, there is the time it takes to actually order power plant, which can take years. So, conservative estimate, let's say 8 years to actually construct a plant. Solar parks can be built in 16 weeks, wind farms in six months. 8 years is just too long, we can't keep consuming fossil fuels at this rate for 8 more years. That money is better spent on solar, wind, and hydroelectric.

That's quite literally why most people start a business, to make lots of money, but yes it can also be a passion. And if businesses do not earn enough they will not be able to invest much for the creation of new products. People who support dumb things like what AOC proposes don't understand how running a business works or just have a major hate boner for rich people.
That's pretty much true for anyone who starts or runs a business.

That's pretty much true for anyone who starts or runs a business.
New research from Cox Business has found that more than half of small business owners start their own business in order to be their own boss. The researchers found that people were also motivated by the idea of creating something from the ground up. Overall, nearly two-thirds of respondents said they had started their own business for one of those reasons.
Money, on the other hand, is not a motivating factor for many small business owners: Just 8 percent of respondents said that was their main motivation for starting their own business

I've started two businesses - I'd add the 'be your own boss' is essentially to be free from the constraint of not doing what you really want to do, what you're passionate about.
