DoD could save a significant amount of money by ejecting the useless MBA consultants and the lobbyists and using the money to reestablish their own research institutes and labs. Right now a lot of the budget is going to waste in giant procurement battles that leads to nowhere (FCS) or produces 40 knots minesweepers like the LCS because the DoD is being bamboozled by lobbyists and "consultants" because DoD gave up the ability to factcheck these used car salesmen in the 90's.
Hell will freeze over before this happens though because the rot has even reached the department head who's an ex-Boeing executive.

We spend the most total because our economy is so huge. We do not spend the biggest amount by percentage of GDP at all. Obviously a very big economy can and will spend more than a much smaller one.

Sure we have issues but that is not because we are a republic.

Most our government spending goes to domestic concerns anyways.

But not against all involvement.

The decision has to be made on a case by case bias.

Sure not every part of the military is perfectly well budgeted but again it is not that big of percentage of the economy nor the largest government expenditure.
Reforming healthcare could save more.
The economic issues we have are not primarily because of a lack of government spending.

Also cutting military spending would result in factories losing and people losing jobs.
Putting those workers on welfare saves nothing.

America has problems, and needs reform. It is not failing.
And capitalism is not the problem per se, though our current implementation of it is imperfect.

We cannot keep up with China without capitalism. China is capitalist too, how they implement it is different but they still employ capitalism.

Before they adopted capitalism they were not an economic threat.

Coups absolutely can have a good reason, such as undermining an enemy government.
Again you cannot simply pretend foreign enemies do not exist. And if you do your citizens pay.

Again we already spend more than enough on healthcare (a higher GDP percentage than places with better outcomes) and more on healthcare the the military!

Lack of money has nothing to do with our healthcare issues (which while real are exaggerated anyways). Throwing more money at it would fix nothing.

Quite wrong. According to my detailed, and thoroughly illegible, calculations the optimum military build-out is artillery-only. Particularly good for peacekeeping.

1.The Military spending in the U.S is the largest in the world. If we cut quarter of it, then it would at least be use to reform the healthcare system.

2.A Large amount of the Military industrial complex can be used for the manufacturing of needs. Like mining can be funding more than the military, and seeking more oil and keep the industrialization going. I simply want to shift spending to other aspects of the economy, the civilian economy. Welfare is used to limit the impacts of poverty, and this is important for working citizens. I'm not a social democrat, I don't think giving free stuff is enough.

3.Reform isn't enough, it needs economic revolution. It needs total and complete change in economic purpose. In terms of capitalism, it needs to be removed in America. America has only one type, a form of capitalism that allows corporations unnatural autonomy. If the country wants to out match china, then it must change from the very roots of the problem, not just the branches. Also the Chinese were a opponent of the United states as a planned economy. They literally helped preserve North Korea, and they pushed America back to the 38th parallel. China continued to develop, and they developed nuclear weapons under a planned economy so it's ahistorical to claim that they were powerless without a market dominated system.

4.America is safer turning it's own lands into a fortress, we don't need troops on every corner of the Earth. A coup wastes lot's of military forces, and it leads in a boom of refugees. If America truly cares for the world, then it must think of socio-political outcome of it's decisions.5..If that was true, then that means the country sucks at trying to secure the populations health. If we have universal healthcare, then it would be a great improvement in stopping heath problems.

5.If that was true, then that means the country sucks at trying to secure the populations health. If we have universal healthcare, then it would be a great improvement in stopping heath problems.
Throwing money at it won't stop it, but programs need to be created for medical educations.doctors must be discipline, and the heath system must have lot's of plans on who becomes a doctor.

Military bases, some alliances, and a cut in the budget. This is not base on any desire to be anti-war, but to rather stay out of the worlds self doing. I think America needs to develop domestically, and foreign policy comes as a secondary priority.

And it's beautiful.
The Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. is a New York-based global investment bank, securities trading and brokerage firm. See you falsely believe things are absolutely horrible in the US. They are not.
The US is still doing much better than most of the world.
We can do better sure.

But if we want to be more like Switzerland then we still need capitalism.
The most successful countries are mostly capitalist (with some government involvement).

China was still a foe when before it was capitalist, but it was not an economic threat then.
A enemy or foe is not necessarily an economic threat.

Sure we need a major healthcare overhaul.
Our healthcare system is very inefficient. But again we do not need more money, just to spend it better.

Cutting spending on the military would do absolutely nothing to fix our healthcare problem.

We do not need to cut the military budget to fix our problems.

I am not against rethinking our military posture.
Most notably I oppose permanent overseas units.
If we need units in Poland and Korea for example, these should be US based units deployed on a rotational, as needed basis.
This would save money because it would mean we could eliminate overseas schools and housing for dependents.

And Army units in Germany are unnecessary and I would argue undesirable.

And I would like to see less involvement in the Middle East.
So I do not entirely disagree with you on that respect.

Though protecting Taiwan is important (we do not have bases there).
Taiwan greatly limits China’s naval potential.

Well your proposal is interesting. Taiwan's situation can have several solutions. the most unlikely is that forcing china from taking over.
It would be best if we try to compromise. Creating a neutral zone may at least slow down the calls for conflict.
