I don't disagree, necessarily, but Ameri also has a point. Up to that point we hadn't seen that level from Quark on the show, and then suddenly he goes from like a 7 to a 15. There's a bit of a whiplash in that episode that makes it feel disingenuous.
Unlike Ameri though I think the episode was entirely merited and foreshadowed Rom's ascension to Grand Nagus. Quark represents the old Guard Ferangi, Rom represents the new. It's more of an allegorical episode about the change in Ferangi culture than a real propagandish piece about Unions and what not.

2. Please, unless you’re being deliberately contrarian, your comments in other threads are clear indicators of your political leanings. 3. But that’s irrelevant, I’m speak specifically to your conduct here.

He's despicable by human standards. By Ferengi standards, he's a ludicrously generous employer. I mean the way Brunt talked, the very concept of vacations is very un-Ferengi.
And let's not forget the catalyst of that episode Rom giving himself an infection from jerking it too much.

1. Vegeta ain't got nothin' on Piccolo, so no.
2. You don't know my political leanings though, so your outbursts acting as if I'm a Liberal/Progressive shill is irrelevant because you don't know if I am or not.
3. Then why'd you bring it up? Twice.

1. Meh piccolo wasn’t really funny until he absorbed Nail.
2. I mean you keep playing coy, but it’s obvious you’re on that side of the spectrum unless you’re just trolling all the other threads
3. Because I don’t care about it in the other threads, I care about it here where you’re grilling a poster just cause they’re not pro union. It’s a fucking tv show thread. We can disagree over a tvshow without shaming people for their political views here.

1. Piccolo was great even before then.
2. For all you know I could be a conservative playing Devil's Advocate. Or an immigrant to the US who doesn't belong on the US' binary system. Or someone who believes both sides are dumb. Have you never considered that?
3. I repeat, I was not shaming nor was I fighting for or against unions.

That's fair. Quark is essentially a bridge that allows us to gain an insight into the backwardness of the Ferengi society we see early in the series. He gives us a relatively mild taste of it so that we can swallow the total absurdity of Ferenginar itself.

3.Well you really came off that way.

But I suppose in a weird way Voyager was extremely lucky avoiding the Dominion war.
Well, there was a war going on. Chances are if no Dominion War, Nog wouldn't have been so fast-tracked.

It is no surprise really, as the war resulted in catastrophic Federation losses. I don't ever remember a casualty number being given in any of the episodes though.
