Her job is sitting down and reading and thinking. If her broken ribs keep her from doing that, what relief will she find in retirement?

Her ribs will be just as broken for just as long whether she works or not, so why should she stop working?

I'm more concerned about the fact that many are practically encouraging her to cling onto the Supreme Judge position until her death like she's the Pope or something.

She's 85 and she's suffered a notable injury. At this point, instead of being a stubborn mule and eventually falling over dead in the Supreme Court, I'd retire in dignity and peace and spend the last few years with the family.

It's not even a matter of politics, it's a matter of reasoning.

The reasoning is her career becomes moot if she retires now. She's a tough and stubborn lady, she wouldn't retire if the entire country wanted her to.

Is she serving with a gun to her head? She can retire if she wants to. She can make the choice any day, any time. If she decides that she still wants to serve on the Supreme Court, that's her right, because it's a lifetime appointment.

Dignity is a woman making her own choice about her own life, and deciding when she's done rather than armchair doctors deciding for her.

Wouldn't really have this problem if the sitting president showed an ounce of willingness to compromise and a modicum of respect for his opposition.

As it stands RBG is likely to be replaced by a foaming-at-the-mouth Rep partisan in a similar vein to Kav (maybe not the foaming bit). RBG knows this and, as I said, she's stubborn and tough and wouldn't want to see that happen.

She fractured three ribs, so mild she actually went home first.. she has more dignity in her little finger than all of us combined..

No, dignity is knowing when one has reached his limit and step down and spend her last few years in PEACE with her family.

She's being petty by being so stubborn despite repeated injuries that would've forced your average senior into retirement already.

Garland is a center left judge who was being appointed to replace one of the biggest name conservatives ever on the court. It's exactly like replacing RBG with someone like Kavanaugh lol

Also, you're probably going to need more of an opinion in your opening post:

Specifically, try elaborating on who, what, where, why and how you are "shocked and stunned".

Decriminalizing Marijuana and even making it legal is actually pretty popular among conservatives

Oh if and when RBG is replaced that fight is going to make Kavanaugh look like a civil discussion in comparison. It's gonna be bad.

What fight? The gop is expected to get 54 in the senate. That’s no fight

Garland was a moderate.
Crimes committed by Muslims will be proof of a pan-Islamic plot and Islam's inherent evil. On the other hand, crimes committed by non-Muslims will merely be the acts of mentally ill lone wolves who do not represent their professed belief system at all.
The probability of someone secretly participating in homosexual acts is directly proportional to the frequency and loudness of their publicly professed disapproval and/or disgust for homosexuality.
If Donald Trump accuses an individual of malfeasance without evidence, it is almost a certainty either he or someone associated with him has in fact committed that very same malfeasance to a greater degree.
