Group A | SEU v Greythrone
Group A | Khantari v Steelbaron
Group A | Pauh Janggi v Tolol

'You hear that even penguin has predicted that we will win, so it's your job to make sure we win this game tonight." Benson Troy, head coach of Greythrone chewing his player ear's last night in their training session. Greythrone now only one point short to the group leader and host nation, Khantari. Khantari will have their stiff challenge when encountering Steelbaron today. The Steelbender already humiliated Greythrone 3-0 last game and willing to do a same to Khantari, as they known as the giant killer.

In a paper, Greythrone will have an easier task to facing SEU, which don't register any point so far in the group level. But they didn't want to lose to Steelbaron episode repeat it again. They overconfident when meeting Steelbaron and been crushed by 0-3.

Michal Rapacki and Ryan Goldfloss fully fit and ready to deploy against SEU, only Rudy Westerkorn still in injuries list. Troy will make some changing in their first eleven to bring fresh leg in this match. Troy also make some noise that he was not so happy with the defender lineup, they have been conceded by seven bloody goals!

“I hope this win will give us more motivation and enthusiasm for the next game, thus reassuring our loyal supporters who came to Khantari and back home.”

MWC Special : Polat Kanter's Prediction for Group A

Image

Polat Kanter - Football Experts & Columnist

Zenidhian football pundits Polat Kanter has interesting prediction about final table of 2nd Malay World Cup Group A. With the four teams still possible to qualified to the next stage, Kanter pick two teams he believe will advance to the semifinals. After the matchday 4 the home side Khantari still at the top of the table with 8 points. Steelbaron and Greythrone are 2nd and 3rd with just one point less than the group leader. The other team still have a chance to the advance to the semifinal is Pauh Janggi. While Tolol and South East United were already eliminated from the race and they will face each other in the last match.

Polat Kanter first explain about each team opporunity by the mathematical calculation. In this calculation we can ignore Tolol and SEU, and also their last match against each other. So we now got four teams and two matches that will affect the semifinal race. Khantari will play against strong team Greythrone, and Steelbaron going to face Pauh Janggi on their last match in the group stage. Khantari are the team with highest chance to advanced to the semifinals, but their last opponent is a strong team. There are the scenarios for all four teams that will led them to the semifinal:

Khantari :
1. Won the match against Greythrone
2. Draw with Greythrone
3. Lost from Greythrone by less a goal and Steelbaron draw with Pauh Janggi
4. Lost from Greythrone by less a goal and Pauh Janggi won over Steelbaron by no more than a goal.

Steelbaron
1. Won the match against Pauh Janggi
2. Draw with Pauh Janggi and Greythrone not won against Khantari

Greythrone
1. Won the match against Khantari
2. Draw with Khantari and Pauh Janggi not won by more than one goal against Steelbaron

Pauh Janggi
1. Won the match against Steelbaron and Greythrone were defeated by Khantari
2. Won the macth against Steelbaron by two goals or more and Greythrone not won over Khantari

In short, Kanter has his own prediction. He predicted that Khantari and Steelbaron will qualified to the semifinals. There's no chance for Pauh Janggi he said. Kanter believe Steelbaron will dominate the Pauh Janggi with their quality and experience, led them to won the match and step to the next stage. Greythrone might be a hard teams to be defeated by Khantari, both team has equal opportunity to won the match. It's hard to be predicted, but Kanter says that his heart belongs to Khantari, he believe the home side could at least earn one more point and secure a spot in the semifinal. He added it was 75% Steelbaron-Khantari combination who advanced to the next stage, the next 20% is Steelbaron-Greythrone, and 5% For Khantari-Greythrone.

Group A
Matchday 4
SEU 0–0 Greythrone
Khantari 1–1 Steelbaron
Pauh Janggi 3–3 Tolol

Fogington Stadium - Only what we can say is disappointed, we should win this game easily, we deployed our best eleven to facing SEU, we are in the right track to lead this group, but our player's again making it overconfident, and in the end, we didn't win this game. We dominate this match from an early second, but our team cannot score a goal, a bloody one goal. Our strike cannot penetrate SEU defense line, although we know well that SEU parking the very big bus in front of their box, at least, one goal is sufficient to make us lead this group after Khantari also faces a 1-1 draw with Steelbaron.

Right now, only what we can do is do or die mission to beat Khantari in front of their die-hard fan in last game schedule on Saturday 13 October ... It's a hard mission but still can achieve if our players know what their purpose playing here in 2nd MWC.

We also hope KFC will look again our national team coaching staff, which we see is not performing very good in this tournament. Maybe an international head coach is more suitable for our National Team.

Pauh Janggi: Osman Khaidir 46', 59; Hairuddin Samat 65' l Tolol: Tolol player #5 51', Tolol player #9 87', Tolol player #10 90'

Fogington Stadium - Pauh Janggi will face a difficult path after only being able to record a 3-3 draw against Tolol. In the match, the Pauh Janggi squad first tested Tolol's defensive fortress through a glancing header attempt by Ahmed Bragas, but his ball as early as the fourth minute slipped from the crossbar. However, the first half of the match saw Tolol more dominated the game by setting a dangerous attack and almost breaking the deadlock in the 33rd minute. Tolol's control was disturbed when their squad's defense was tackled as the second half started.

Osman Khaidir's shot from inside the penalty box managed to break the home goal to allow Pauh Janggi to lead 1-0 in the 46th minute. Tolol managed to equalize in the five minutes after, the result of a shot from inside the penalty box.

Minute 59, Osman Khaidir again take Pauh Janggi in lead after score the second goal, and Hairuddin Samat makes it 3-1 in 65'. But Tolol fights back and successfully get 2 goals for the end with 3-3.

Interview with Head Coach Reed

What about the preparation of the Khantari team for the match against Greythrone?
The Khantari player is in the best performance at the moment and we expect the players to have no problems to win.

Who will be the starting line of the team?
I will make a change in the main squad tomorrow night where we will include Refugio Doering in the starting lineup. We will give Refugio Doering an opportunity to show off after a long break from injury. I will put some reserve players to be paired with existing players and after leading perhaps I will change the key's players to be rested.

Your target for matches against Greythrone?
I'm sure we will win and pick up three full points, and qualified to the semifinal.

What about the formation will be used tonight?
We will use a 4-4-2 formation with the aim of reinforcing the midfield as well as avoiding conceding by an opponent.

Zeniyadh Defender Will Miss the Rest of MWC After Suspended by CMFA

Oldenhurst, Khantari - Zeniyadh defender finally suspended for three match by CMFA disciplinary committee following his bad action on his last appearance. In the late minutes of Zeniyadh v Wuriya match Daif Tosun punched Wuriyan striker Elang Hasbi stomach, the referee caught him and give him a red card. He was sent off in the 90+3 minutes. The game not changed much although Zeniyadh play with only 10 men since the accident happened near the end of the match. Daif Tosun who sent off got the applause from Zeniyadh Supporter for his brave action.

But now the situation isn't good for him and his team. Today the CMFA disciplinary committee announce that Daif Tosun will be suspended for three matches. Zeniyadh still have one group stage match and will play only two knockout stage matches, that's mean Daif Tosun going to miss the rest of the tournament. The Al-Dalf defender already played four matches in the group stage, his role is important for the team. But the Zeniyadh head coach who also his uncle Canan Tosun said that the absence of Daif Tosun will not affect Zeniyadh perform. He added that Zeniyadh still have many options with same quality. He said it during today's press conference.

"Yea, Daif will miss the rest of the tournament. He's good player but his absence isn't problem for us. He already give his best." Said him. Daif Tosun who also attend the press conference made a statement about his action during the last match.

"First i want to apologize to all football fans in Tanah Melayu. I think it's was just part of my Nationalism, it was a match with high tension and i can't control myself. I'm sorry to the fellow zenidhian because i can't help this team in the next matches, but i think i still can give a help for my teammates to lift the trophy"

Zeniyadh will play against Samudera Darussalam on their last match in group B. They already qualified to the knockout stage. If they won the match they will face Pauh Janggi in the semifinals. The other scenario is they're going to meet Khantari again in the semifinal if Wuriya able to overtake the top position from them in the last match.

Zeniyadh and Wuriya Players Celebration Gesture, What Does it Means?

Image

The match between Zeniyadh and Wuriya in the Malay World Cup is quite interesting. The match between two neighboring nations played under high pressure and tension. If you watch this game you'll notice that almost all players and supporters show their hatred towards their opponents. There's some reason why this game is very prestigious for both team. First Zeniyadh and Wuriya are currently placed in the top two position in the group B, and the winner of this match will be the first team to qualified to the semifinals. Second, a day before a violent clash between two supporting groups happened in the Oldenhurst streets. Resulting in two person seriously injured, 20 hospitalized, and seven arrested. Third, they were rival and naturally hate each other. Wuriya and Zeniyadh shared border and neighbors for years, but they just like cat and dog.

Did you notice that players from both team celebrate their goal with a specific gestures yesterday? In the 43rd minutes Imam Saleh successfully convert a freekick into a goal and give a 1-2 lead for Wuriya. He immediately run into the corner with a cross hand gesture. Then in the 83rd minutes Mehdi Ishaq scored a goal which bring an epic 3-2 comeback for Zeniyadh. He went to the zenidhian supporters, take off his shirt and performing a three finger salute towards the supporters. So is it just a random gestures? No, these gestures are have a meaning.

These gestures are used to show the national pride of both country. Imam Saleh crossing his hand, this gesture is a symbol of Wuriyan national identity. It's used to visually illustrate the Garuda, a national mythical animal of Wuriya. Garuda is a sacred symbol for Wuriyan nationalist. During the yesterday match a hatred banner caught on the south stand where zeniyadh supporters watched the game. The banner written "Gay-Rude-Dump", it was a satire for Wuriyan Garuda.

Then how about Mehdi Ishaq three-finger gesture? It's commonly known as three-finger salute or Zenidhian Salute. Most zenidhian supporters performing this salute during the national anthem yesterday. This national symbol expressed the three Zeniyadh national prides : the flag, the country, the homeland. Someone who doing this gesture usually also reciting the national slogan "alhayat, alnabilat, walshahada". Mehdi Ishaq run towards the south stand and take off his shirt after scoring late minutes winner yesterday, he's performing the zenidhian salute and followed by the supporters.

However some football pundits said that this match is one of the most prestigious football match in Malay history. Two rival nation play each others under hight pressure and ended with a dramatic results. There's still a possibility for both team to face each other for the second time in this tournament. Wuriya have a big chance to advanced to the semifinals, if both team won their semifinal match they will meet again in the final. They may also meet in the third place playoff. Interesting!

Must be a win for Khantari and Reed, or else...

The determination to go to the 2nd MWC final stage is thickened for Khantari midfielder Majorir Crawitz when he faces Wuriya or Zeniyadh at the Ironchurch Mines Stadium on Tuesday 16 October. Crawitz said the two teams cannot be underestimated as the both team's players have their own strength and are able to make a surprise if the Khantari player is limping.

"Even though Khantari has the advantage of playing in front of their fans, they can not be comfortable with the decision but focus on more than 100 percent. Crawitz insisted that the spirit of teamwork in Khantari's squad could give strength to the team. However, he did not deny the players of both experienced countries able to resist, especially with the presence of high-quality players.

As team manager, Richard Reed is aware of his complicated task for his squad because he will face a tough squad of the Wuriya or Zeniyadh squad. He was also head coach Khantari said, as group winners cannot be used as a measure of both the team and certainly when facing Khantari, both team's will return strengthened with the best players.
