Shogun Kojiro slams diversity (MT DIPLOMATIC OPEN)

Postby New Aeyariss » Sun Apr 15, 2018 3:31 pm

OOC: Welcome to my newest controversy thread over the Nifonese Shogun making some questionable remarks! In general, three rules apply.

1) No declarations of war. This is a diplomatic thread meant to follow a controversy sparked by few of the Shogun's words. If you want to RP a war with me (which, by the way, will never include a casus beli being few of the Shogun's words, because that's an utter nonsense) - PM me and we shall set something up if I have time and eagerness to RP that.

2) Keep this MT only. Leave ponies, bronies, jib-jab-ronies, elves etc. etc. at home.

3) If you want to post here, post something of quality. One liners will be reported to moderation for deletion.

KOJIRO-SAMA DELIVERS A SPEECH REGARDING DIVERSITY!
Ishikawa, Nifon - on today's meeting of the Nifonese Political Forum, Kojiro-sama delivered a speech that is bound to cause massive controversy. Openly attacking the notion that diversity is a beneficial thing for a society and stating that Nifonese ethno-nationalism should be a bedrock of his political actions, Kojiro-sama declared that Nifon shall never surrender it's national sovereignty and will actively protect it's borders from all who are bound to break it.

The statement is sure not to be positively received by the international leftery; however, Kojiro-sama openly stated that he will not bow to any pressure that shall be imposed upon him.

The speech shall be broadcast shortly.

More to come later!

OFFICIAL BROADCAST OF THE SHOGUN MAKI KOJIRO
Image

To all honorable people around the world;,

I, Maki Kojiro, Shogun of the Empire of Greater Nifon am addressing this message to be seen by the entire world, but especially by my dearest sons and daughters of the Admiral Yu, thanks to whose voyage the Nifonese state exists today. I chose to make this address because my heart feels truly moved by how various groups of special interests are pressuring the Nifonese people to reject their natural borders and permit their country to be flooded with endless regions of gaijin who want to profit from the fact that we had a chance to industrialize earlier than they did. Many lands of the gaijin, especially those bombarded with Minpon ideology, seem to be undergoing intense bombardment with foreign cultures and ideologies. This leads to race riots, ethnic riots, domestic instability and numerous acts of terrorism.

It is sufficient to say that the Empire of Greater Nifon shall not follow this path. We have seen it, we have seen it's consequences - and we shall not follow the gaijin down on this path.

Many people throughout history have blamed "others" for the problems. The Almurtan gaijin proclaims that Muslims are the problem. That is not so - I have met Hiwari-san personally, I have conversed with him; and I have a Hui Muslim from Wenchuan working on an important post within my administration. The Nazi will go to proclaim on how Jews are the problem. That is not so - for there are many virtuous Jews I have met in my life. Someone other will point out that problem is nation X. I need to reject all those false and disgusting notions. As follower of Tenshu and adherent to Krishtou-kyo, I can not, with a clear conscience, hate another human being. And that is why I see the real root of the problem.

The problem is not a group X. Not Y. Not Jews. Not blacks. Not Muslims, Araveans, Lilluputans, Martians or any other of mentioned groups. The problem - is diversity itself.

I believe in the old Tenrigakist idea that Dao generates virtue; virtue generates law. In Tenrigakist theology "Dao" refers to whom the followers of Krishtou-kyo call "God" or "The Lord of Heaven". As such, basing myself upon his teachings we can clearly see that the first cause marked land for every group; the land on which it lived was to be respected. Human beings were told to separate and disperse. This glorious order of the Tenshu gave us today the world we know it; with myriad of cultures and peoples that differ from each other. The cultures, however, are different. A while ago Nifonese Medical Society organized a research about pain response in different cultures. It turned out that Riysan Muslims, the Nifonese, Araveans, Jews or Hindus from Vishpanyar react to pain in completely different ways. If even within this context those cultures are so different; then how do we expect them to get along in greater matters?

From those distinctions arise the conflicts. One just hast to see how recently we witnessed an outright civil war in Oceanica between descendants of our kinsmen whom the colonialists imported to work; and the black - skinned people imported for the same purpose. It did not happen because blacks were "unruly savages". They were mostly decent and hard working people. Neither did it happen because Nifonese were "racist bigots". It did happen because the two communities suffered a failure to understand each other at the fundamental level due to differences in culture and worldview. And hundreds paid the price - in their blood.

Human beings have a natural instinct to identify with their kinsmen. The bonds of Kinship are as natural as the family union. The moment when differences arise, that moment groups get separate interests. The moment they get separate interests, they can no longer be combined into a single group. Everyone except few deluded ones realizes that such differences exist and can not be destroyed without utter destruction of group's self identity - which often has to be done by force.

One can ask himself weather that is a price that is even worth to pay...

Yet various cosmopolitan factions attempt to pressure us to import millions of gaijin into the land of white blazing sun. Their goal is not a new one - for it resembles the tale of tower of Babel that had been told to us in the sutras of the Lord of Heaven. A world without borders where we, the Nifonese, have no defining characteristics; first, to weaken our society by introducing untold numbers of people whose numbers outmatch Nifonese labour market; then radicalize them and cause domestic instability. When such instability ends, we are to be turned into an identity-less morass without any distinctive genetic or memetic characteristics.

If various gaijin liberals want to build their Babel, they are free to do so. Nifon, however, shall have no part in it. And let them remember that fact. The idea that nation is not meant to reflect it's ethnic composition is not just immoral, but going against nature, and as such will not be respected by sons of Admiral Yu.

Various steps will be taken to ensure this. First, the Empire of Greater Nifon shall soon witness an overhaul of immigration policy. I understand that immigration is a natural phenomena and I do not wish any evil upon the immigrants. Immigrants may be present in Nifon, but they need to understand that they are guests, and while enjoying hospitality benefiting a guest, should not land with dirty boots upon a Riysan carpet as happens in multiple gaijin lands. Those who do not like that fact can always leave, or in necessary cases, will be made to leave. Immigration from countries with positive historical experiences with Nifon will be preferred, and immigration quotas (the same ones that various journalists accused me of setting on "extremely restricted" level) will be even tightened to prioritize Nifonese labor force. The immigrants who we chose to let stay in Nifon will enjoy all our hospitality as long as they properly assimilate and adopt our culture.

Illegal immigration shall not be tolerated. All those who will illegally attempt to enter the Nifonese waters will be made to turn back with use of force should it be deemed necessary.

Nifon is a land inhabited by the Nifonese. Nifonese are yellow skinned, descend from Admiral Yu's expedition and value social harmony that the sages instilled in us. it's time for them to stand proudly without minpon media spreading waterfalls of venom over them, dubbing them "racists" for just admitting who they are. We never claimed to be a "master race" which should rule the world. We respect other cultures and believe that they have the same rights as ours. We practice the principle of benelovence our sages taught us towards other human beings. But we won't - WON'T - let ourselves be reduced to nothingness just because someone dreams of a world without borders.

And those who do not respect that I proclaim loudly: YOU SHALL NOT PASS!

Honor be with you, Namu Iesu Krishtou!

Postby Lethen Empire » Sun Apr 15, 2018 4:08 pm

Kaizer Luka of the rather titantic Lethen Empire has expressed his support for the Shogun in a relatively lengthy announcement to the world. The Kaizer, dressed in his finest military wear, approached the podium at the large conference. His audience of military officials, news crews, city and colonial officials, and other important people in the Empire waited intently for their Kaizer's thoughts on the subject.

Kaizer Luka of the Lethen Empire wrote:"Ladies, gentlemen, I have been asked my thoughts on the subject of the Nifonese Shogun's stance on 'diversity'. Immediately, most of you should already know my thoughts, but I find it important to express it verbally so that the world may know.

I support the Shogun in his beliefs. They are prudent and of a well-educated background. Let me start by explaining that Letheny is not a 'diverse' nation. Letheny is a union of many cultures, but it is not diverse. The cultures of the Empire keep separate. Lethens do not mingle with the Xhosa, the Xhosa do not mingle with the people of the Raj, and the people of the Raj do not mingle with Lethens. Letheny is an agreement! For we help the native people of our vast lands grow and improve their lives, and we too benefit economically from their growth! But, we do not mix or mingle.

But, if Letheny were to allow these many cultures to mingle, everything would topple to degeneracy! There would be disorder, and a wish to leave our beneficial union! Hence, we do not. And the Shogun himself speaks of instability, civil wars, and the death of identity. As Letheny guards herself from a sort of babel Babel, we applaud the Shogun as he brings an axe against it!"

Of course, the speech's existence was only made known to mainland Lethens and officials from the colonies. Few civilians across the Empire were given the chance to watch the brief speech or notified of its existence.

Hahlot Lund boldly responds to Nifonese shogun
Bolstered by recent Conservative successes, the far-right leader dips his hand in international politics

15 April 2018 8:00 PM | Qethsegol, Zeljunaar

Qethsegol, ZELJUNAAR (KY) — Apparently emboldened after last month's successes in winning a seat in the DEUN Parliament and the generally unexpected success of his party in last year's elections in winning 11 seats in the Chamber, Hahlot Lund, the chairman of the far-right New Conservative Movement, responded to a speech made by Nifonese Shogun Maki Kojiro. This is the first time Mr. Lund has ever directly commented on a specific event in foreign affairs. Speaking before a party rally held nearby the ruins of Rathbelur, the Dominion's first capital, Mr. Lund capitalized on the speech of Shogun Kojiro as a demonstration of "the modern bestial tribalism which our forefathers so valiantly fought to eradicate from the face of this World."

This is not the first time Mr. Lund has engaged in such bold statements. Last year, he publicly hailed King Zuluth as the "one righteous Guiding Light we have ever had in our modern times" at a press conference. Strategists for other political campaigns view Mr. Lund as engaging in firebrand tactics.

The speech, translated from its original Kruziikvul, is written in its entirety is below:

Brothers, sisters,

I want to speak to you today about one question I hear so often from those whose minds are weakened by the present state of affairs. It is a question which I know we all hear, and one that is tiresomely worrying. "What tradition of the Tursaal do you follow, if any?" And that, my friends, that is the problem. We are not viewed as Tursaal - we are viewed as relics of a bygone age, left behind because our virtues are "outdated". Let me tell you this, dear friends. Let me tell you what a relic of a bygone age is.

It is not us, brothers and sisters. It is not the ones who have remained faithful to that one Servant who bound our world together when he would have loved nothing more than to break. It is not the ones who love to seek and to find that which shall unite us. It is not the ones who know that he is standing here with us, feeling nothing less than hope because some of his countrymen still remain true to Its Will.

No, brothers and sisters, it is the filth that holds onto the modern bestial tribalism which our forefathers so valiantly fought to eradicate from the face of this World! It is the ones who preach that all men are not brothers, and who in their madness, cannot even decide what that should mean! Look at the filth that dares to preach that all men are brothers, but then, in their maddened arrogance, tells you that you must celebrate their differences. Are they bearers of virtue? I should think not! What virtuous man could so dishonor his own intellect that he openly proclaim that to celebrate the oneness of Its Children we must celebrate everything that divides us?

But I have spoken of such arrogance before, friends, and I do not wish to dishonor your capacity to remember. No, I have not spoken of the other kind of filth that holds onto that bestial impulse of a primitive man. And what better way could I have had this demonstrated to me this very day, then to hear it from the Shogun of Nifon! [Attendees begin booing en masse; Mr. Lund smiles] Now, now, brothers and sisters, you have not even let me tell you of what I thought when I heard from that 'virtuous' man.

I heard sweet, sweet words at first, and I will tell you that for a moment I genuinely him to end it after about a minute in. Even the deaf, after all, may at one point sing a sweet song. "Kojiro," I thought, "There is such a great potential for your soul. For once, just for once, let us have this one moment where you approach some semblance of virtue." But no, friends, he did not end it there, after he had decried the mockery that is the concept of "diversity".

He began speaking of his so-called "Dao" which he identifies with the lies not even his forefathers believed in. They were wiser than him, I might say, for at least they did not engage in the act of cannibalism on a regular basis; that supposes, of course, if someone who loved anything but Heaven they could comprehend the idiocy of their beliefs. But that is beside the point, brothers and sisters. He claimed that his "Dao", his "God", his "Lord of Heaven" is the source of virtue, which is in turn, the source of law. [Both Mr. Lund and the audience begin laughing.] No, Heaven needs no lord of yours "Shogun Kojiro" [spoken in English], it is quite well off without one. And Heaven is no source of virtue: virtue is just as much an instinct of man as his bestial nature, and laws should exist to promote that virtue and restrict vice!

[Mr. Lund is silent for a few seconds.] He went on to say, with a straight face, that his god marked the land of every nation for a different type of human. Of course, he did this before humans decided that they would honor their god by demonstrating to him the sheer potential of that which he had created. Seems a little pre-planned doesn't it? Seems a little, dare I say, monstrous, considering that humans, when they were told to separate and disperse for such an honorable deed, they became so different that they could not help but hate each other.

Yes, "Shogun Kojiro" [again in English], your god is really that idiotic; despite being omnibenevolent and omniscient, and having seen that man would do this at your tower of Babel, much less at your garden of Eden, he somehow decided that making the human race to fight itself was really an act of kindness. Yes, smacking a defiant child harder until he is not bruised, but actually bleeding is definitely the way to go. I might add, brothers and sisters, that if he actually satisfied the little intellect sitting in a corner starving for food, he might realize that the real maker of mankind made us because It could not stand the trickery of the Dusts, and It knew that once It made us, we would be Its Children, at last separated from Its Will. And It would no longer be condemned to an eternity of omnipotence and omnipresent omniscience.

But I get ahead of myself, I must admit. My flaw is that I have too much hope that my fellow man will see the light before he is dead and sees It for himself. He goes on to claim that men are instinctually bound to be tribal beasts. Why, yes "Shogun Kojiro" [again in English], Heaven knew that full well from the beginning that we were tribal beasts; that was the part of the reason, in fact, we were chosen from the creatures it fashioned from the Dusts. But the difference between The Heaven and your god is that we gave It sanity, whereas yours seems to have only become more insane after your Adam and Eve ate some fruit. And whereas your god needed to sacrifice himself to give man at least a little forgiveness and kindness for such a dastardly crime, and be stayed in his rage, our Heaven watched us, and It became more and more horrified as It watched what It had made.

One day, and let me emphasize this for you "Shogun Kojiro, it actually tried to help us down here on Earth" [again in English]. It figured out a way to Speak without voice, and It called upon our greatest forefather to do something about it. And though he now stands a spirit upon this Earth, condemned for the greatest crime any man could have ever committed beside every child who has ever come of him, he knows that we must carry on his work.

So, "Shogun Kojiro" [again in English], the foreign liberals you spoke of will try to make their bastard version of your tower of Babel, and it most assuredly will be torn down, but not by your god. Your idea that nations should be the determinant factor of human affairs is the same cancer which we stand against now. It may not be us, brothers and sisters, but there will come a day when man will be whole at long last.

And to your proclamation that none shall pass, "Shogun Kojiro" [again in English], I say the same Maxim which our forefathers fought under six centuries ago.

There is one human race! There is one human goal! There is one human people!

As in Heaven, so Below! Ever shall it thusly go! [Attendees recite the phrase with Mr. Lund]

[Mr. Lund smiles] I cede the platform back to you, kind Frey.

What the actual F_KC did I just listen to? Is this some twisted dream? I hate to say this, because it really belittles the situation, but this guy is far more dangerous to our country than Trump is to the US. Not just because of his barely concealed hatred of the Constitution, but because you can hear that this man genuinely means every word he says and that it's not "firebrand tactics". This man isn't going to go away if you ignore him. Every second you ignore him you allow him the opportunity convert more people to his twisted version of a cause. Wake the hell up and start doing something people.

And to the inevitable top NCM comment, let me say this. There are reasons why the King never followed through with the ideology before the Uprising: it was insane to do so, and it still is now. Do you really think that this man is going to be able to do what he says? I'm not asking because of the Constitution - I know that's a piece of paper the second someone like him gets in. I'm asking because we will be curbstomped into the ground by people like Kojiro. That's not even to mention there is such a thing as nukes. Wake up from your nonsense. We are not some world empire; we are a tiny island who was lucky to never get curbstomped by the British when we were discovered.

For that matter, I'm fairly positive that the King is about as likely to support you as the Sun is to go supernova.

I mean, really, do you even hear him? He started off on an impassioned rant about how you aren't relics which turned into some Kojiro hate fantasy mixed with a twisted Cosmicist sermon. Hell, it didn't even look like he was talking to the audience towards the end. Literally just speaking to the cameras. This man is insane, and every vote towards his party in any election puts us closer to real danger.

The one truly virtuous man even related to this forsaken mockery of government speaks once more. And it was a sweet melody upon my ears to hear the real maxims of humanity's country. I dare say, it is a mistake that we ever started tolerating the cannibals - even before their filthy New Social Movement, we let their arrogant liberal ideals make the people greater than Heaven Itself. It is a disgrace that the Guiding Light is forced by that arrogance to cower like a child, and that his Servitude is now replaced by some corrupted Junaar (I refuse to translate that to your lesser K-word).

And to the traitorous man whom we welcomed and called our brother Tursaal hopefully below me, I do not think you understand the heritage of the honorable title you bear. We were not founded by some arrogant Emperor, conquering for lustful bestial desires; we were founded by one Servant from the far south, who managed to raise an army greater than any Emperor ever could. No arrogant "Shogun", "Emperor", or any man who uses another arrogant title will cow a man who has never dared to demand he be honored more than Heaven. You are a human, not an American or Tursaal (in their primitive sense of "ethnicity"), and you forsake the real cause of humanity.

And as to your "intelligent question", have you never read any history books? Did you not see that the Guiding Light Iiznil had been working to build a navy more than capable of standing up to the "British" "Empire"? Or have you just been indoctrinated like everyone else to hear the truth and believe it is a lie? And I am sure the present Guiding Light will see reason. To your "clever insults", I think "Shogun Kojiro" is most certainly a threat. But he shall not be forever. Our Junaar is Zel (your filthy T-translation is disgusting to speak), and his "Empire" is not.

Let me tell you this, any cannibal, "globalist", "nationalist", or anyone else who is not a lover of Heaven: there will come a time when the long silent march of the Raasid shall begin once more. And when the Call comes, so too will the terrible measures for those who reject It.

You know, my great-great-grandparents came here from Australia, running away from some crime they'd committed. You do not know the sheer vitriol people had for them here. I know it sounds weird to us now, but there were several points in time at which bread and wine were put out on their home's table that wasn't there they left. Or you know, just actually assaulting people. Anyways, they eventually converted to get past the vitriol. And you would not believe just how many people who had hated them looked at them as if they were proud they had done it. And, of course, they soon found out that they weren't actually Cosmicist, and went back to harassing them. It's a shame they had to teach their kids the faith, but...

Well, I'm a humble Cosmicist today, so are/were my parents and parent's parent's parent's. And to listen to this man speak... You know, Its Servant Hezyolos was a hateful man at times. Truly hateful. But his virtue came when Its Courier Vroz Veyr came into his life. And it's as though they have forgotten that last part. Hell (it's funny to say that to me), if you read Aar ahrk Funrahiik, you would see that by the time he had finished unifying Gegeinhimdah, he was about ready to fall apart at the seams because of all the terrible things that he had to do in the war.

What you are proposing, NCM peeps, is that a dreadful time comes back to haunt us. It's the time of the virtues you may believe in, but not in the way you think. It's a time of filth and blood and misery. And it's a shame that real virtue often is found in those circumstances.

Please... Revere Heaven and contemplate yourself. What you, by all accounts, seem to inch closer to every day, is not a glorious world. It's the world that needed to die then and now.

EDIT: Wow, I'm back with these two others. I'd be honored if one of them wasn't present.

HARSH WORDS FOR SHOGUN, OTHERS ON CAMPAIGN TRAIL
Senator Redwood blasts Kojiro, Lund for speeches

VIRIBUS--During a campaign rally today, Senator Kari Redwood of the Liberal Party made her stance on the controversial speech by Shogun Kojiro of Nifon abundantly clear in an impassioned speech. You can read the full transcript here, as this article is shortened for brevity. This excerpt from the end stands out in particular:

And the response by the rest of the world? You'd expect overwhelming rejection. But no. The only statement so far rejecting him is an even worse hate-filled rant that seems to imply that he doesn't go far enough. This cannot stand.

People of Apikai, I reject these ridiculous, hateful ideas. I reject the idea that God meant for us to stay islands of races. I reject the idea that there must be one race. I reject a humanity of division and of singularity! When this nation fought for its freedom in the 1970s, it imagined a place for everyone. As your president, I will keep that dream alive and rebuke those who seek to destroy that dream!

The speech was met with loud applause and cheering from the audience, and according to our phone poll, has been generally well received. But it is not without its critics--many say that it sounds overly hawkish, warlike. John Abott, a farmer in the Southern Plains, stated that "It sounds like she wants to stir up a fight so she can look good in it. I'm for diversity, I truly am. But these guys don't play nice. I just don't want her making enemies before she's even won the election."

When asked if she would impose sanctions on leaders who made similar statements, Redwood refused to comment.

Official Press Release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Kyrenaia

On the matter of the the address of Mister Kojiro from the 15th of April 2018:
In the name of Razia Sultana Umm Albilad, Lady of the Five Deserts, Ilkhana of Utica, Daughter of Kyrenaia, Mother of Her People, Highest Servant of the Lioness, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the following: If Mister Kojiro wishes to sign the Sentence of Stagnation and eventually Death onto his people and culture, he is, of course, free to do so.
However, both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Sultanate itself expect, that he does so consistently, by recalling his kinfolk in all countries which's name is not Nifon.

Finally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to address one point made in the speech:
It is true, that diversity done wrong can lead to domestic problems - yet, one might recognize the operative clauses: 'done wrong' and 'can'. There are enough examples of cultures, who not only survived but also thrived under foreign influences and blossomed with migration both bringing back foreign influences and getting them, blossomed into beautiful and admirable cultures.
One of them being Kyrenaia. There is a reason for the way the Lioness is usually depicted, taking care of her own cubs and the puppies of a Sand Wolf, a Guarding Fox and other young animals with tenderness and love.
Nifon, despite the Absence of Wisdom in Mister Kojiro, being another example - indeed, where would Nifon be without Admiral Yu? A migrant, who's expedition brought the diversity of another culture to what we today know as Nifon?

All in all, the Sultana has authorized to quote Her reaction directly: "A little man of inferior consequence rambling about things he does not understand and thus must be evil - I hoped, that we were past such times of Absence of Wisdom."

On behalf of the Empire of Greater Nifon I wish to address all the voices who have responded to the recent declaration in one open statement permissible for all to read.

The Nifonese people own the land of the seven Islands. Nifonese are yellow skinned (albeit with their skin of fairer complexion than that of the Wenchuanis). Our culture has, historically not drawn from a single source. We borrowed from Wenchuan, we later borrowed from the west. Every time, however, we made the newly coming ideas with what we had before. The Kogyokist faith, highest expression of Nifonese theology, is prime example that this is possible.

We are open to others as much as they are willing to become us.

There is a saying "when among crows, you have to scream like them". Such is and will be Nifon. Every newcomer will wish to stay will have to become Nifonese and assimilate himself into our culture and our language. Failure to do so will result in instant expulsion by force if necessary.

Considering how well Nifonese populations have assimilated abroad, I do not feel any necessity to even make attempts to direct people over whom I have no authority. However, let it be known that on my territory Nifonese virtues, law and culture will be enforced. Rigidly.

And no gaijin social justice warrior will change that. Neither will threats suffice, for we are the sons of Admiral Yu, and today is our day of glory!

Zhouran Backs Kojiro's Slam On Diversity

The Zhouranese government officially backs Nifonese Shogun Kojiro's criticism of diversity

Today during a press conference, Minister of External Affairs Hadarong Shaokang states that the People's Republic of Zhouran officially agrees with Nifonese Shogun Kojiro's slam on diversity. In the Nifonese capital of Ishikawa, Kojiro delivered a controversial-yet-truthful speech at the Nifonese Political Forum. Openly attacking the notion that diversity is beneficial for society and stating that Nifonese ethno-nationalism should be a bedrock of his political actions, Kojiro declared that Nifon shall never surrender its national sovereignty and will actively protect its borders from all who are bound to break it.

During the press conference, Hadarong Shaokang stated that a "multicultural society is bound to fail due to lack of social cohesion" and that highly-homogeneous states such as Zhouran "are several more times likely to be more stable and safe than multicultural societies such as the United States, Sweden or Russia". "What the Nifonese Shogun said is the actual reality of this harsh world" Miss Hadarong stated, "when you look at the United States back in the early 20th century, the country was more successful and safe because it was racially homogenous, Zhouran itself just went through a civil war in the mid-20th century and yet we have become a very-wealthy first-world nation with a very-high level of human development, one of the lowest crime rate in the world, one of the most highly-efficient and effective healthcare system, and a highly-efficient, merit-based social-security system, ranked as best in Asia and one of the best in the world, all thanks to ethno-cultural nationalism and racial homogeneity".

Indeed it is no surprise that homogeneous nations such as Zhouran are more successful than more-diverse nations. The United States was at one point stable and prosperous but now the supposed "world superpower" has become nothing more than a beige husk of its former white self. Sweden and Germany were also at one point stable and prosperous until the recent migrant crisis in which millions of economic migrants illegally enter Western Europe in order to reap the hard work of the White Europeans while contributing nothing to European society.

Throughout its several-millennia long history (one of the oldest in the world), the Zhouranese civilization has remained racially-homogeneous and stable. About 99.65% of Zhouran's current total population is Kangyuli, and as a result non-Kangyuli people are a very tiny minority. Countries that are more diverse than homogeneous nations are less likely to be stable and prosperous, with diversity means a massive decrease in social cohesion, a drop in total IQ, and an increase in racial divides even with the political sphere. The US itself is a great example; the once-homogeneous nation is known for its high crime rate, gun violence, and increased political polarization. Indeed, politics in the United States is in fact divided by race, with Hispanics, Blacks and even now Asians more likely to vote Democrat than Republican. Meanwhile in Zhouran, political divide is based on the moderate-hardliner paradigm, with political moderates voting for issues that affect them and political hardliners voting for issues they support. One of the biggest myths pushed by civic nationalists and internationalists is that people of all colors can unite for the sake of the nation they live in, however that's not the case since in the US where non-Whites vote together with the people of their ethnicity while White Americans on the other hand are more diverse and will vote on issues based on their beliefs rather than ethnicity.

Race itself as a topical subject can be very controversial, especially in the West. There has been attempts in exporting diversity to other nations, an example would be the Baltic states in which due to presence of US military personnel including black personnel there has been attempts to export diversity to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Japan itself is also a target, due to their low birthrate there has been attempts to force Japan to open its borders in order to "maintain a steady population growth". Luckily Zhouran has never been targeted due to many reasons such as having quite a high (for a highly-developed wealthy nation) total fertility rate of 3.18 births per woman, a highly-powerful military force capable of not only defending the Motherland but protecting the interests of the Zhouranese people, a high gun ownership rate and gun culture that reflects the Kangyuli people's passionate warrior-culture, and a pragmatic semi-isolationistic attitude that has save the Zhouranese people from the dangers of the outside world. Because success can sometimes breed jealousy, Zhouran itself has been criticized mainly by Westerners for being a "racist nazi state". While Zhouran remains racially homogeneous, interracial marriages have been recently starting to rise. Before, interracial marriage between Zhouranese men and non-Zhouranese women (mainly Hispanic or Black) was rare, but recently due to globalization, interracial marriage has become particularly common between Zhouranese and non-Zhouranese people. An overwhelming majority of these IR marriages are between Zhouranese men and non-Zhouranese women, and opinions on interracial marriage here in Zhouran is divided between the sexes. With most Zhouranese men, many hold neutral-to-positive views on interracial marriage while a huge majority of Zhouranese women hold neutral-to-negative opinions due to the notion that foreign women are "stealing" their men. For the meantime, Zhouran will remain racially homogeneous, united and prosperous. Kangyuli people do not see themselves as brown or yellow but rather Kangyuli, and as a result such unique identity will be defended through racial and cultural homogeneity.

Finally something I can agree with Kojiro.

KatipuneroPinoy1986

Disgusting, Kojiro acting like a typical neo-nazi fascist, no wonder the Zhouranese agreed with him and backed his disgusting Hitleresque speech.

There's good reasons why Zhouran and Nifon are both strong, prosperous nations, but I can't say 'em 'cos that'll be "racist".

Zhouran for the Zhouranese, Nifon for the Nifonese. Everyone deserves a homeland.

Government Response to Shogun Kojiro's Speech
After Media Pressure, Her Majesty's Office and the Parliament give a statement on the matter

| Karen Herrington (@FBE_KarenH) | Posted 16:20 CET 20th April, 2018

    Image
Renard Gillhem, Representative for Her Majesty; speaking on behalf of the Honourable 34th Federal Administration

This evening, Right Honourable Renard Gillhem spoke on behalf of the government of Freilibre and its stance on the current controversial remarks of Shogun Kojiro
in Parliament after a heated debate had arisen between Conservative MPs and Liberal MPs. Surprising the audience, Gillhem states the government's intentions for
neutrality.

"We seek neutrality. Despite our obvious differences in beliefs and background; we have no authority
to condemn their actions for it is not in our interests to do so."

Afterwards, Right Honourable High Chancellor's Secretary for Private Affairs issued a press release, furthering the government's neutrality. 'Freilibre, its commonwealth,
and its associate nations inherently disagree with the Shogun's speech, however it is our belief that we disregard these comments and focus on diplomacy, rather than
sensationalism in the media' it says.

Many political commentators and other nations in the European Union have already responded to the government's announcements. Conservative newscaster Benjamin House
of the right-winged news station Freedom and Justice has stated his support towards the Shogun.

"While our belief of multiculturalism is rigid, I do think that he's making pretty good sense. A unified people, a culture, one identity, is what will do this country good.
Especially now, when it's being run by outright garish and leftist SJWs who think that preserving our culture and our nation is somehow fascist and part of Neo-Nazism.
In that Nazi rally a few weeks back, didn't they voice their hate towards the Nifonese!? Completely contradictory."

However MPs, including both right and left members, have overwhelmingly voiced concerns.

The Queen earlier today had remarked her intentions of 'keeping quiet' during a press dinner: "I shiver at the very thought of that ridiculous and outright cruel speech. I cannot
describe my feelings towards it lightly, and to do so would, I'll be honest, break formalities. I have full confidence on the Sohrab Administration's decisions, and I've taken it upon
myself to keep quiet. Once this media storm rolls over, I'll be stating my opinion more freely."

Meanwhile, Freilibran Social Media is catching on, and the hashtag #ShowoffShogun started trending on Twitter a few hours earlier.

Well, no matter what we hear from that region it's always nonsensical bullshit that no one cares about. That "trending hashtag"? It had 200 tweets on it after five hours.
I get that it's always a slow news day here in Freilibre, but don't stoop this low god damn it.

What?? THIS comment is nonsensical! What the Shogun said is absolutely authoritarian and quite frankly, I don't think being neutral on it makes it go away. We saw this same sentiment
to the south of the border in Konstantinov, and look where those kinds of beliefs put them in!

But, we've always been separated... From the moment when humans had spread out of Africa thousands of years ago, we've always been genetically and biologically diverse. It's in our human nature to
be different. Keep your communist, Brave New World-esque opinion somewhere else.

Diversity and other Happenstances

An opinion piece by Ilia Ray.

And here we go again: The old cycle of statement and reaction, then reaction to that - except that this case the original maker of that statement, a certain Maki Kojiro (henceforth known as Maki-tan) of Nifon, reacted to the criticism made against him by social media.
The short press statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that they do not consider social media posts as a way to handle international communications and that if Maki-tan (they spoke of Mister Kojiro, as it is proper) wishes to reply to someone, that he should use the proper channels, including a PS that social media is not considered a proper channel, will be unforgotten.
Maki-tan spoke of something, that also touched Kyrenaia, and every Kyrenaian hearing of his speech, to the core: Diversity. Multi-Culturalism. To him and his followers, those terms describe a blight of gigantic proportions, something they do not understand and thus must be evil (as our apparently Sultana expressed it). They restrict legal migration to levels, which are inadequately described by the terms 'extremely restrictive'. They want the migrants to adopt to their culture, to assimilate them into their being and their being alone, with no traces left of who they originally were.
So... here is my opinion. Yes, I descended from on high, namely from my cellar room correcting the typos my colleagues made, to add my own two Barqas to this debate.
When from 1753 to 1755 Amir Fannan painted 'The Lioness of Utica's Azure Hall' into the wet plaster, he depicted Her, the Lioness, who's Roar awoke Han-'Ilat, the Mother-Goddess, not roaring to the heavens or at an enemy, but as a tender mother. She cared for Her young, who included not only other Desert Lions, but also a Guarding Fox, a Sand Wolf, a young Woodstalker, this could go on for a while - traditional symbols for the peoples living in Kyrenaia in peace and harmony, under the care of the Lioness. Kyrenaians, Selkie, Desert Nomads, Ileans, Rumahians, just as the list of animals, this goes on for a while.
It represented the view of the time: The Lioness, Kyrenaia itself, watching over Her children, no matter where they came from, for they were Kyreanaian. Her children. They enriched our culture, our country, our very ways of living in ways big and small.
In a recent example, a migrant and a Princess in personell union, after she fround her place, revolutionized the training regimens for the Horsearchery Teams of Utica's Old Academies, for in the land she hailed from, they trained more effectively. Adapting their methods made the lassies from the HGA competitively relevant again, much to our pride.
In another example from a lot of time ago, we learned the virtues of a good and calming cup of tea from migrants from abroad and taught them the virtues of smoking certain herbs.
In yet another example, Rock. Swing. Jazz.
The list can go on.
One has to also see, that we had been there, too. In the 30s, 40s and 50s, slogans were shouted at regular rallies, which my father attended as a journalist, slogan like "Expel the Barbarians!", "Do away with stranger customs!", "No foreign blood our lines!" and, of course, my personal favourite, "Kyrenaia for Kyrenaians!"
What is Kyrenaian? Who decides, what a Kyrenaian is and who may or may not be a Kyrenaian?
I will not lie, illegal migration is a problem, it was back then, too, but what problem is there to have with a person, that goes through all official and proper channels, obtains the permission to settle in a country... but doesn't want to forget, where he comes from? Celebrates his customs and traditions, respecting the laws and customs of his new home? Who maybe teaches his own people's wisdom while being taught ours?
Is the entire problem, that he is different?
Does Maki-tan and his cohorts fear people being different from their own traditions (which they merrily celebrate in their own enclaves abroad, one has to add to the hypocracy) so much, that all coming to them must assimilate, must become Nifonese for better or for worse? That they must condemn their own culture and country to stagnation?
Migration and immigrants are not the only thing where Maki-tan and his oppose what the world sees as right where they (and we, in some cases, let's be honest here) see wrong. He is, if one wants to put it that way, a serial offender when it comes to offending other people - sometimes, it seems, on purpose, to keep his little corner of the world relevant.
Maybe that's the missing piece of the puzzle? He fears Nifon falling into irrelevance and wants to prevent that by speaking in 'offensive' terms about values held dear by the world, just to draw attention?
It doesn't matter to me. I am proud of a diverse and culturally rich Kyrenaia and I am proud of my values - and I am quite certain, that Maki-tan is proud of his own values and a culturally stagnant Nifon. It is well that way and to be quite honest, I can respect that, for one has to give him one thing: Instead of changing his banner as the wind goes, he stands by his values, a virtue not often found in the world these days, especially not amongst politicians.
Princess Aurelia bint-Damir calls herself both a Selkie and a Kyrenaian with pride, blood from both sides flowing through her veins. Amana, Ilkhana of Sarepta, says she comes from a long line of Desert Nomads and of a long line of Kyrenaians. Famous examples could be added at will, but the message does not change: One does not have to be either one or the other. One can be both.
One can respect the people and country one is in, its customs and traditions, its way of doing things, while also keeping all of that from the own culture alive, mixing, changing, creating something new, maybe progress, maybe failure, but moving is better then standstill. Diversity can work and it can work splendidly, if with a few bumps in the road - Kyrenaia is a testament to all of that.
On the other hand, the Nifonese: I say, let them be. They have their opinions, we have ours. Respect that - even if they do not. Respect, that there are differences. Try to show them, if they show interest. If not... well, that's their loss, not our problem.
Ilia Ray.

OOC:

I have not produced any good roleplay writing for nearly a year as a result of several RL and NS reasons, so I apologize in advance if this post comes across as the product of a “rusty” writer and does not do justice to Greater Nifon’s original post.

April 15, AD 2018
1319 hours Monavian Standard Time

Nifonese Activity Station
First floor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Building
Chalcedon, Capital District
Imperial Federation of the Monavian Empire

Few Díenstadi leaders had the Nifonese Shogun’s talent for making their policy declarations reverberate across the world. While national leaders of every conceivable background announced new foreign policy decisions every day, most of them lacked Maki Kojiro’s special penchant for bombastic rhetoric that made his speeches exciting enough to liven up a slow news day. This did not mean that other leaders made a point of responding to the Shogun’s declaration just because he was not the sort of man who recited bromides and nostrums that appealed to some speechwriter—in fact, his speech drew polarized responses from every corner of the globe for much more substantive reasons. Even if other countries had ignored the leader’s speech, its practical implications were significant enough to ensure that the Monavian government would take notice.

Like most of the Imperial Federation’s other federal agencies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contained an internal research department capable of serving as its institutional eyes and ears. The heart of the Ministry’s research operation was a high-ceilinged room housing 200 tall metal office cubicles that were dedicated to monitoring the activities of nearly a thousand countries, NGOs, and other significant entities. One of these cubicles contained the Nifonese Activity Station, where a forty-five-year-old career civil servant named Dragan Ilić worked the station’s day shift. Ilić had grown intimately familiar with the Ministry over the course of his twelve-year tenure, which included spending four years at the Akimonadi Activity Station before his interest in Nifonese culture and a fortuitous vacancy enabled him to request a reassignment to his current post.

Ilić took great pride in his hard-won fluency in Nifonese and privately wished that Kojiro had initiated his script reform a few years earlier so that he could have learned the language more easily, but the old Kanji still remained in use for official functions and therefore his studies were not wasted. It did not take him long to locate and translate a transcript of INN’s broadcast and write a report on it for the Foreign Policy Advisory Board to discuss. If the Ministry’s research department was its eyes and ears, then the Board—a committee nine distinguished foreign policy experts responsible for advising the Ministry’s senior officials—functioned as its brain. These experts reviewed information they received from the Media Center and Monavian diplomatic missions and offered the minister, deputy minister, press secretary, and other relevant officials their insights as needed.

Once Ilić’s shift ended at four o’clock that afternoon, he handed his report and the transcript to the analyst who relieved him and departed for the cafeteria to make a cup of espresso. The other analyst came across the Tursaal response that evening, wrote a report on it, and assembled a neat little dossier containing all four documents. As his shift drew to a close around midnight, he stepped out of his cubicle, called over a middle-aged government courier in a burgundy uniform, and put it in her cart so she could take upstairs to the Board’s mailroom.

Ilić and his partner addressed their dossier to Dr. Aleksandar Radulov, a former professor of diplomatic science at the Imperial University of Brezno. Radulov had served the Ministry almost as long as Ilić had, albeit in an administrative capacity. When he received the dossier the following morning, he agreed with Ilić’s analysis of Kojiro’s speech—both of them focused more on uncovering the Shogun’s motives for speaking than on whatever feelings he might have stirred up—and generally espoused some variant of realist philosophy like a majority of his colleagues. With this perspective in mind, Dr. Radulov drafted a memorandum in which he specified a number of talking points for the Ministry to follow.

April 16, AD 2018
1000 hours Monavian Standard Time

Press auditorium
First floor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Building
Chalcedon, Capital District
Imperial Federation of the Monavian Empire

By the time Dr. Radulov finished drafting his memorandum, the domestic press and the Ministry’s communications department both recognized that the public wanted to know what their government thought of Kojiro’s speech. With this fact in mind, Foreign Ministry Press Secretary Karl Golikov announced that he would make a statement and take questions during the daily press conference he scheduled for ten o’clock that morning. Golikov’s conferences drew about forty or fifty attendees to his press auditorium on a typical news day, but the ushers knew that this would not be a typical news day and planned accordingly. They set refreshments in the auditorium’s lobby shortly before the first correspondents arrived after nine o’clock and even put out extra surge protectors so that the cameramen and technicians would have an abundance of sockets for their equipment.

One of the first correspondents to enter the building was Jasper Gardner, a stocky, dark-complexioned man in his forties who held a graduate degree in journalism and presently served as a senior reporter for the Journal of International Affairs. Gardner had grown intimately familiar with the Ministry’s press corps, starting off as a cameraman a few months before the Bielostrov crisis happened in December 2011. Gardner thought he was the first reporter to arrive that morning when he saw none of his colleagues on the other side of a security checkpoint he had to pass through, but when he got to the cafeteria to grab some coffee he found a man passing by who wore a press ID tag on his jacket.

“Excuse me, sir,” Gardner called out, prompting the man to stop. “Are you a new member of the press corps?”

“I am,” replied a taller man in his late thirties. “I’m Lars Jensen with the Monavian Broadcasting Corporation.”

“Oh, Kristin Smith’s old seat!” Gardner exclaimed. “Life hasn’t been the same here since she got promoted. How is she?”

“Spunky as ever,” Jensen beamed. “They’re thinking of moving her to primetime.”

“Congratulate her for me when you see her again.”

“I will. By the way, you never introduced yourself to me.”

“Jasper Gardner, correspondent for the Journal of International Affairs,” he explained. “I’ve been here about seven years so I know the place pretty well. I’ll introduce you to a few people later this morning after we get settled in.”

Several minutes later, the pair walked into the auditorium with their cameramen and technicians in tow and began setting up their equipment. Jensen needed only a moment to understand why the reporters who gained credentials here felt so lucky scoring their posts. The official briefing venue was not particularly large, but it was lavish. The rectangular room featured eighty mahogany-framed seats upholstered with crimson satin, heavy damask curtains tied back from the windows with braided silken cords, and a floor of milky white marble shot through with pale gray veins so fine they seemed to swirl through the stone like incense smoke. The ceiling at the front of the room featured a recess containing track lights that shone down on an elevated dais and Golikov’s finely lacquered mahogany lectern, which bore a full-color rendering of the Ministry’s seal, stood before a pair of elaborately embroidered flags representing the Ministry and the Imperial Federation. No wonder people say this place is a shrine to the media, Jensen thought.

Two minutes before the conference began, one of the ushers informed Golikov that all of the correspondents had taken their seats and were ready to receive him. Golikov casually strolled inside, mounted the rostrum, positioned his six-foot-tall, 165-pound frame behind the podium, and tilted the built-in microphone a few degrees closer to his face. The press secretary’s jet black suit, crisp white shirt, and plain silver cuff links gave him the appearance of an undertaker, albeit one whose tailor knew how to make his lean physique appear flattering. “Good morning,” he greeted the press. “Before I comment on the new Nifonese immigration policy, I’d like to begin this conference by announcing a few changes within our ministry.

“First and foremost, I have the pleasure of announcing that our External Information Center’s new deputy superintendent will be Kyla Larkin,” Golikov explained as he gestured towards a side door on his right. In strode a slightly curvy woman in her forties who stood taller than average and sported shoulder-length brown hair, sharp brown eyes, and a sleeveless chiffon dress that showcased her youthful arms. “Dr. Larkin has been a highly capable member of our research team for nearly eight years and has always kept Center’s staff on their toes, especially during the night shift.”

Larkin’s full lips parted in a self-congratulatory smile as Golikov continued speaking. “In addition to assuming her new role tomorrow morning, she will continue to chair the committee that is planning the Center’s fiftieth anniversary gala. The Center has always been a paragon a bureaucratic efficiency and Minister Carter and I are both very proud of what it has been able to do for us and the public. I will not detain her any further,” he continued with a smile and a nod to signal that she was now free to step outside, so if you want to question her you’ll have to go downstairs and make an appointment.”

Golikov reached down to shake Larkin’s hand as she departed and took a couple of breaths. He silently glanced at the freshly-buffed floor gleaming below him as he finished assembling his thoughts. “Yesterday afternoon,” he began, “the Nifonese Shogun announced that his government would begin imposing tighter immigration restrictions in the near future. These restrictions are unlikely to make a meaningful impact on Monavian nationals since there are very few Monavian guest workers present in Greater Nifon at the present time.”

Golikov halted his speech just long enough to let his words settle in the minds of his audience. “Thus far, the only foreign response we have found as of this morning is a speech by a Tursaal politician who shares the Shogun’s skepticism for cosmopolitanism but brutally criticized his motives on religious grounds.” The Lethan Kaiser had not bothered to release his remarks to the global press, so the Monavians had no knowledge of it. “The Tursaal leader in question, a legislator named Hahlot Lund, espoused a radical universalist worldview that brooks little tolerance for the sort of nationalist posturing that Kojiro is fond of, and I highly doubt the two will be friends anytime soon.” Golikov swore he heard someone suppressing giggles towards the back of the auditorium.

“Having addressed Kojiro’s policy changes and the minimal scale of their impact on Monavian interests, I also want to make a number of points about the identitarian philosophy he passionately invoked in his remarks. The Shogun strongly believes that the people who make up his society will not have the sense of belonging and camaraderie they need to work as a team to achieve civil goals unless they have a shared culture. In many respects, his argument is correct…at least for the Nifonese.” Golikov paused again. “Our own country is far less homogeneous than Greater Nifon, but much like the Nifonese, we understand how much a country’s citizens need to agree on a common set of rules and practices if they want to coexist with one another.

“The Monavian government does not endorse Kojiro’s belief that members of different ethnic groups cannot cooperate to build a healthy society just because they have genetic differences, since groups can function together if they agree to adopt a common government, legal system, official language, currency, and other institutional trappings while retaining their distinct traditions, art, music, fashion, and cuisine. Monavians of different backgrounds celebrate different local holidays and practice their own individual traditions, but they all see one another as fellow citizens who owe their ultimate earthly allegiance to the same crown and country.

“Finally, the Monavian government appreciates Kojiro’s explicit rejection of ethnic chauvinism and the bigots who believe that some group of people or another is inherently vile and must therefore be destroyed. In opposing the notion that some group or another can be scapegoated by society to explain systemic problems, the Shogun has placed his country’s policies at cross purposes with a number of disruptive actors in the region, include those who knowingly aid and abet slavers, pirates, and traffickers in their crimes,” Golikov concluded in a fashion calculated to throw a subtle barb at the Ralkovians, Ordenites, and Potthanis.

“Having addressed the most important points of Kojiro’s speech, I am now prepared to take your questions…”

Golikov wrapped up his press briefing less than an hour after it began and retired to his office shortly thereafter. He sent Radulov instructions to have the External Information Center monitor any ways in which his remarks would be received and Radulov tasked Ilić’s station with reporting further reactions to him as they occurred. Subsequent responses proved to be passionate but scant. Senator Redwood’s fiery comments sparked Ilić’s curiosity about Apikaian politics and he got temporarily distracted researching their upcoming presidential election. Eventually the Kyrenaian Sultanate issued some criticism and Kojiro shot back on social media the following morning, but otherwise the controversy seemed to quietly simmer. Four days later, the Zhouranese government officially declared its support for Kojiro’s policy, the Freilibran crown and parliament expressed a variety of views, and a Kyrenaian newspaper published an editorial. For all of their differences, there was one attribute all of these reactions shared: an emotional flair that the Monavian government had somehow managed to avoid.

Fineberg University, New Edom

"So..." said Professor Bethuel, pacing slowly, gesturing occasionally as he spoke, often looking at one section or another up at the sloping seats in the lecture hall, "Let us then analyze the immigration policies of our country as compared to that of our noble ally, Nifon. Recently, news from Nifon made clear that multiculturalism in Nifon is rejected. Can anyone tell me how multiculturalism is seen in Nifon?"

"Professor," said a dark haired young man sitting a row from the front, "One important principle is that it is not race nor religion nor culture that is rejected, but diversity itself."

"Someone actually read the transcript of the speech I provided," chuckled Professor Bethuel. "Well that's something that it is not, to be sure, but what is it?"

"Sir, the guest principle is what is proposed by the Shogun," said another young man, heavy featured, bespectacled, solemn. "That foreigners are welcomed in Nifon, but they are not part of Nifon."

"Absolutely," said Professor Bethuel. "Now: how does this contrast with our national policy on immigration as proposed by the late Foreign Minister Tubal-Cain?"

"That New Edom is a land of nations, and those nations are ruled by a certain kind of people," said a student with a short neat beard and very short black hair. "That it is welcoming of distinct peoples, and that it must be ruled by Christians who have agreed to live by Edomite values."

"That is precisely true. And why is this? Because New Edom is a cultural, not a racial hegemony. We have never been so homogeneous as the Nifonse, and we shall not be. Is our immigration restricted?"

One of the young women earnestly raised her hand. "Please Professor, it is. There are rare exceptions where non-Christians are admitted, and rare exceptions where non-Nicene Creed Christians are admitted, but they are exceptions. Overwhelmingly our Foreign Ministry only accepts Christians who follow the Nicene Creed and agree with our laws and way of life."

"Then," said Professor Bethuel, "Since our immigration is slow, how are other citizens being added other than, of course, through natural means?" he paused for a few laughs from the class. "Well?"

"Sir, because we are establishing greater order and prosperity to our Region, and because many peoples flock to our banner!" cried a high voiced stout young man with flushed pride. "Damocleans, Dengalis, Feminians, Hostillians, Arcologians, Hydrenians, Lyscanians!"

"Yes, and in this," said Professor Bethuel, "We see that we are very similar to, yet very different from our Nifonese allies. We may have much in common; we are faithful Christians, we follow respectful traditions and cherish history and honour, and we reject the principles of diversity, embracing of the homosexual and feminist agendas, we are suspicious of the atheism of Marxism, but we are different. If there is any form of 'diversity' that our people accept, it is this: in our Father's House, there are many mansions. it is nearly time to dismiss you, so let us take the last few minutes to discuss the paper which is due next week..."

Grand Duke comments on Shogun Kojiro's diversity speech

Shogun Maki Kojiro of Nifon recently made waves with a speech about diversity, and his words have made their way around the world quickly. After the speech was reported on by many Kosean newspapers, Grand Duke Arlan Finnin made a statement of his own while at a media scrum outside of the Blacksburg Palace. Note that Grand Duke Finnin’s comments are his personal opinion and were not spoken on behalf of the monarchy, or any of the eight member Duchies that the Grand Duke represents.

“There’s been a lot of talk about diversity, but personally I have more questions than answers when it comes to taking a stance for ethnic nationalism and against diversity. For some nations such as Nifon, which have always been homogenous for hundreds of years, it makes sense, but what is diversity and what is ethnic nationalism in the context of a nation such as Kosea? Are we a diverse country because we have eight independent Duchies with their own cultures and histories? Is someone from Blacksburg considered different than someone from Kempsburg? How do we define each ethnicity?

“Most native Koseans could be considered white, but if you look at the details they aren’t so similar. Saxons and Gaels may share a skin color but the languages are different and there’s cultural differences that are deeply rooted in Kosean society, and yet the nation of Kosea is still an intertwined history of both groups living together for better or worse. In this case, being against diversity would mean being in support of ripping Kosea in half, decimating the strength of the nation in the process and creating two smaller states that would likely go to war over what the borders look like. It wouldn’t benefit anybody.

“On the subject of immigration, Kosea does not currently let in a large number of immigrants every year, and agrees with Nifon that illegal immigration isn’t something that should be tolerated. However, historical immigration has existed throughout Kosea’s history and that adds another variable to the matter. If Kosea adopted a policy of ethnic nationalism rather than diversity, we would have to find somewhere for anyone that historically descends from immigrants to go. You can find smaller groups in Kosea that descend from blacks, from Asians. They’ve lived here for, in some cases, hundreds of years but if you separate things by ethnic lines they have to go somewhere, and again, we end up with a scenario that destroys the country trying to achieve this.

“So yes, I respect Shogun Kojiro’s thoughts but Nifon’s policy only works for nations like Nifon, because in some places diversity is built into the history of the nation and taking a stance against it would spell disaster for all ethnic groups and the country as a whole. Cultural diversity is another matter and while Kosea is made up of different types of people such as Saxons and Gaels and others whose ancestors came here long ago, we in government try to instill a sense of being Kosean in everyone, regardless of what Duchy they live in. We can agree that cultural unity is needed to keep the nation together, lest we enter a dark age of warring states such as the one following the civil war in the 1940s.”

Re: Shogun Kojiro slams diversity

Postby Yohannes » Thu Apr 26, 2018 5:16 pm

“My lady Williams,” announced Darryl as he slammed my door one rainy afternoon in day last, “Have you seen the World Assembly International Incidents noticeboard? Events are moving in Nifon as fast as thunder. The steel is all pouring out of the nation, and the banks are killing to invest.”

My personal assistant Darryl could very well have stored this disclosure from me. He was, I daresay, very well acquainted with the reality which he very carelessly had brought upon me. Two months back, with consensus of the Board of Governors and the end of the uncertainty that was passing, I had wisely poured a percentage of my capital in the future of a particular industrial enterprise; and every one of my advisers communicated the bullish confidence that my capital would go up the Everest. With these background I held on to dear life and wisely acted to realise my desire. The price was low, I thought, and I would not miss such a singular good fortune in a hundred years, unless there was a strong possibility of market amendment in the near future. I must say the sentence — I was right.

The enterprise was: Equal Trade and the Connecting of the Nineteen Countries Economy with the Economy of Greater Nifon.

When a lady has been proven right, she can very easily launch herself into overindulgence. I had been silly enough to not realise that Nifon does not like me. It seemingly does not like anyone but cisgender, grey-haired, late middle age yellow-skinned man — the bottom of the barrel — nor, as a matter of course, immigrants and those classified as ‘others’: ‘blacks’; ‘Jews’; and even people from its own allied nation, ‘Riysan Muslims’, according to its Shogun.

That is so xenophobic, sexist, racist, oppressive, and misogynistic. That is, so, politically incorrect.

Refugees and Islam welcome, I’ll say.

But, the capital I poured with my heart into the enterprise, and with it the nation of Greater Nifon, had brought me good fortune. Forecast was all over the place. The graph went up, up, and up. There was no backing down at NSD making.

At what price? My willingness to trade with the bigots and the misogynists of this world? These and some other weekly forethoughts had preyed upon my sensibility; my morality at risk. There was no doubt that heaven would strike down its judgment upon me. But there may well be more. Think about the long course of industrialisation and capital accumulation which both the nineteen countries, through the Yohannesian Model, and Greater Nifon itself, through its own story, had experienced. A dozen or so states, or countless people, have suffered in the process; in the case of the nineteen countries through the wilful negligence of open trade, and in the case of Greater Nifon through the sufferings brought about by open imperialism.

[ Out of character: Um put this here for safekeeping will expand gotta go quickly thank you! ]

The Arab Socialist Vanguard Baath Party of Khataiy

It is the position of the Arab Socialist Vanguard Baath Party, as follows.

Though the Shogun made several valid points, we must respectfully disagree. Firstly the Arab Socialist Vanguard Baath Party applauds your nation for its defiance, self-determination, and preservation of national and cultural identity. It is indeed important to us the objective of preserving native identity, and we have done so in various ways from promoting historical Arab figures and reinforcing the role of our religion, Islam, in the Arab society as Islam is integral to the Arab people and culture, for if it wasn't for this religion we would not be where we are today, as a united people spanning from the Atlantic and North Africa all the way to Ahwaz.

We agree people are more divided by identity than by class or anything else, however our stance in this regard points to culture rather than physical abilities or lack thereof. Indeed cultures are inferior and superior to others and history has taught us this as various civilizations have risen and fallen, some remembered some forgotten. Such an example is evident in the Americas, yes the Aztecs built glorious cities and had a notable society yet fell inferior in relation to the imperialist invaders as they wielded superior technology, that they owe credit to the Arab people for. However when these same imperialists sought to invade Arab lands they only met failure and resistance due to strong will.

Strong will is the forging criteria for the differences in cultures and peoples. While it is the criteria something else of note is the way it is viewed by greater society, and some have come to shun such a concept in exchange for embracing the lower ideologies of Liberalism. All nations who seek to survive must reject this ideology, for it is the cancer of all ideologies that degrades and defiles nations and causes more division and destruction than any other.

Though many have criticized your nation for rejecting illegal immigrants and other foreigners, even Arabs, who reject your nation's ideals, we support you. We agree no Arab (and though we hold no authority over Islam or Muslims nor are we an Islamic party) or Muslim even should seek to emigrate from their nations to ones that are contrary to their origins and culture, for it isn't suitable.

In our own nation, as diverse as it is we face the challenges diversity presents, we have sought to erase the boundaries that divide us and focus on our common history, that has existed for thousands of years in different eras and yet we are still divided by ungrateful traitorous individuals We are the rulers of our land yet the realities of diversity come in and repel our efforts for unity. We have established a common language, we have educated, developed, protected, and produced for the minorities of our nation in hopes of assimilation yet they are ungrateful, but we remain patient and valiant.

We disagree, here, we believe in assimilation, it is necessary for every grate state to educate those who live therein to attain a united identity regardless of their past heritages that brings the people together to create a strong prosperous nation that is the envy for the world, this is the legacy of the Arab nation, that we continue to strive for today. From our era in control of Spain to today in parts of our country we continue to strive for highness and greatness, it is only the path of the weak who reject the hands that feed them in exchange for the hands the dilutes you.

We wish you and your nation the best,

Sincerely from,

Signed,
The Arab Socialist Vanguard Baath Party -

High King Hegrod IX having been out of the spotlight has been making plans to make a comeback the opportunity came not long after Shogun Kojiro had made a controversial speech against the concept of diversity and noticing the backlash received from the leaders of the "more enlightened" countries, he realised that he could not only increase the relations between Nifon and Bolrieg but also gain more renown from the world despite the opinions.

*The video opens as the cameras enter the Throne room of The Grand Palace with Lord Chamberlain Yaszeld making the announcement that High King was to address the Nation and the whole world*

"Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen, we are the High King of the mighty Bolriegian Empire and we demand you hear our words. It has come to our attention that the world reviles at the obvious truth laid out by the Honourable Shogun of Nifon. What I don't agree with the Shogun however is that he has not yet made a move to wipe out the treasonous filth in his nation. Yes they are treasonous the very reasons of why they are treasonous is because they demand an end to the nation that gave birth their miserable existences for they are spoiled pampered idiot who seek pleasure in the suffering of other. They want to import dealers and give them tax payer money to shove filthy heroin needles into the eyes of innocents. The want to import homos to force AIDS on the population by way of rape and deliberate bleeding in the drinking waters. The wet-fish Pearl clutching "leaders" of the world who deny this in public are either naïve, stupid or support all the evil of what diversity brings. It saddens us very much so that many people around the world would be ok with such atrocities and with this I believe they should be forced to abandon these vile beliefs. While the Shogun might be ok with other Nations building Babels and Sodoms, we are not and therefore seek for all the cities of evil be put to the fire and sword. POZDRAV, MOCNI BOLRIEG!"

*This was followed by mass applauding and cheers from his supporters from outside the Grand Palace.*
