Well, Elitism is rampant in the academia. (I mean, given how it's supposed to be based on merit, can you blame them?)

I don't fault Shaun for being so dry and placid in style. Youtube reactionaries are often adept at exploiting more emotional opponents and selectively editing them to maintain the stereotype of the "triggered SJWs". Can't do that with Shaun if all he does is talk calmly and rigorously.

It's not so much calm and rigorous than it is boring and monotonous. No matter your style, people will make fun of you when you're a political youtubeur. Better for it to at least have some attraction.

Left-libertarianism is another name for libertarian communism, libertarian socialism, and libertarian Marxism. What most Americans call libertarianism, however, would be seen as unbridled capitalism in most other countries, not libertarianism.

Depends on the context. At professional meetings, there is a lot of elitism. Who you get to talk to is a function of who you know.

However, on the departmental level, where people interact with each other day in and day out, the level of elitism is usually minimal.

That's not even close to arguable. By and large, they are significantly worse.

I am not defending dictatorships or fascism, but most countries prospered under right-wing dictatorships (except for Argentina). South Korea under Park Chung-hee became an economic superpower in Asia, the miracle of the Han river. Spain under Franco became a tourist hub during the 1960s. Brazil also had a period of growth in the 1970s during the military dictatorship. Greece also was in a great economic situation during the Papadopoulos regime, unemployment was nearly non-existent.

I am not actually right-wing, but look at Pol Pot`s Kampuchea, Stalin`s Russia and Kim`s North Korea. Although there are exceptions. Russians lived very well during the Brezhnev era in the 70s, same with East Germans. Yugoslavia also, but they had a market-based socialism
