So should we override democracy when we don’t like the results? That’s a road you have to evcareful going down.

Well as you said the area is pretty blue. Extremists come from hard times and places (so to speak). As for him running, it’s democracy baby, would you rather he be open about his beliefs or not?

No. Democracy enables that.
Well as a Jew I find it very scary that someone who denies a genocide that killed six million of my people is on the ballot. But given that he meets the requirements for the office and his petition signatures are valid there is no way to remove Mr. Jones from the ballot nor should there be.
It will be interesting to see what percentage of the vote he gets.

She wouldn't win a general election in Illinois running ads like that but could win a Republican primary. I would welcome the down ballot carnage like we saw in Virginia last year.

I'm not entirely sure what would happen if the Governor vetoed a proposed map. For one, if the map is compact (by following the new guidelines), Governor Wolf may face fallout for vetoing a good looking map (he's up for election in November). Next, what happens after a veto? The legislator complied with the court order and made a compact map. Would the default map be the old map?
No. It'd be a court-drawn map. If the Governor doesn't sign a new plan by 15 February, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will immediately start the process for drawing its own map. See the order.Third, should the General Assembly not submit a congressional districting plan on or before February 9, 2018, or should the Governor not approve the General Assembly’s plan on or before February 15, 2018, this Court shall proceed expeditiously to adopt a plan based on the evidentiary record developed in the Commonwealth Court.

The governor can veto any map, then. This seems like an overstep of power by the court. Courts can declare maps invalid, but they can't draw their own.

Court throwing out map is nothing out of the ordinary. I would expect SCOTUS to get involved if the court tries to draw it's own map overriding the legislature.

There will be a narrative pushed that it's un-American and has no basis in any national traditions.
I guess the impact depends on what percentage of people are impressed by tanks, flags, and toy soldiers.

Kinda strange, but I doubt that will change peoples opinions or anything. Like my first thought of military parades is North Korea, but it is actually fairly common in various places. I'm more surprised we don't already have one actually.
