Alia reluctantly glanced over the crowd, her mind torn. On one hand, she would like to go into the tavern and speak with the young man, whom had basically confirmed his occupation in the Inquistion. On another hand, she wasn't due for relief from her post for another two hours and she really wasn't supposed to leave.
Alia shrugged and slowly followed the young man in, where she sat at an empty table, pointedly leaving the chair across from her open for the young man to sit in. In the back, the same young man who beat her new companion still played his games, this time with a young, malfettos woman. Alia frowned. She might have to do something about that eventually.
Alia turned back to the young man she had come in with. " In order to familiarize myself with you, I am Alia. Who are you? And now, I assume you're with the Inquistion, basing off of you secrecy. So, what were you doing with him and what do thou know about him?" Alia pointed over her shoulder towards the young man with the cards. " I saw you lose to him earlier in some game."

I tilted my head at the chain. "Here," I said, placing my finger on my left loop to change it up. "Let's see if I can pull it off again." I wouldn't be surprised if he made me lose this one. That would make it all the more authentic, which is exactly what he needed to woo passerby to bet. In fact, some were betting on my chances right now.
"If I don't win his, I may just have to continue on to check if you're cheating," I said teasingly. Either way I would go past the preliminary rounds, as I am interested in grabbing some quick cash, even if only for the Society. Sometimes you just feel good after winning.

I frowned as he worked the chain. There actually seemed to be a trick to this; although I'd just guessed the previous rounds, I could now see that his hands moved slightly differently than last time. This wasn't a scam at all; this was something you had to be prepared for.
"Here," I said, tapping the side I'd originally picked. I grinned. It was ironic, really; I'd been using sarcasm when I'd bet two talents he couldn't trick me, but now I could earn seven for actually fulfilling the deal. Odd.

Alia nodded thoughtfully. " I see." She glanced off to the side of the wall, lost in thought and shifted in her seat. " It would be nice to explore the city one day, see more of it than the gloomy Inquistion towers and the overcrowded marketplaces. Perhaps other places as well...move heard rural Kennetra is pleasant." Shaking her dreamy thoughts off, Alia returned her gaze to Lucian.
" You say he's not cheating? Perhaps getting incredibly lucky? Or a well oiled talent? What can I do to beat him, if anything?" Alia leaned forward expectantly. " Oh, and I must say Lucian, it very good to meet another Young Elite that is not openly hostile to me. You don't tend to find many others in the Inquistion and those I have to round up are not very cooperative." Alia smiled grimly. " Not very friendly at all." She shrugged. " I'm just doing my job though."

Alia smiled brightly. " Yes, that would be wonderful!" Her smile dampened slightly. " Alas, it seems I'm never off work. I've actually never left the city either, so it won't be easy to do so, at least for me. Say, where do you come from? Have you ever left the city?" Despite Lucian's odd appearance and relaxed attitude, Alia was beginning to like the man. He had been kind to her, and it was a rarity to find that in the city.
As Reeve approached, Alia stood and tried her best to give a welcoming smile and curtsied. " Good day Reeve! I'm Alia, a fellow agent as you obviously know. It's a pleasure to meet you as well." Alia looked over her shoulder. " In a mere two hours, I am to report back to my local Headquarters for reassignment. If you would like, you could come back with me and they'll direct you to where you need to go."
