If you didn't want this to happen, maybe you shouldn't have voted to put a Republican POTUS in office, thereby allowing Republican controlling appointments to the FCC.

He probably already gets it. No point banging on this for weeks.

Sorry but I'm not going to get outraged over something I can't control, I didn't vote for Trump and I sent letters and calls off to my reps expressing my support for the rules. That's all I can do short of running for office myself and I really don't wanna do that so I'm just going to be an adult and move on.

My state went fucking blue. So why does my vote that didn't win my state matter? And why the fuck should we move on? This was an attack on democracy! We can't let this stand.

There are worse things that have been done. Why is this the catalyst for revolution?

:/ As much as i disagree with flutters on this there's no need to rub it in. It's not like it's impossible for a Hilary voter to make the same points.

I'm just bothered by his outrage when Bernie or Busters explicitly voted for the guy who caused all this just because their guy didn't win a nomination. Sure Flutters is from a blue state but how many Bernie or Busters voted for Trump in the Rust Belt solely to spite the party? How many in Florida? How many just sat out?

People need to understand their votes (or lack thereof) have consequences and this is one of them. Next time they should try voting for someone they actually agree with.

Because it has shown what oligarchy we have become that the FCC willingly and blatantly ignored the American people by robbing us of our internet rights and giving the keys to big corporations who wish to extort us for more money in the worse possible ways. Where do we draw the line before the time for revolution is too late?

Do you not understand how bad oligarchies and plutocracies are? We need a free and open internet in order to have a free society in this digital age. We are no longer digitally free without Net Neutrality and to add further insult the FCC added a last minute provision stating that States cant make their own NN laws ether. So much for fucking State Rights!

Take a trip to Syria and see if you think that is worth it for some regulations that will be reinstated in less than a decade.

Either you don't really understand what revolution means or you recognize that you are exaggerating the problem. If the former, then please read some books on various revolutions and learn what you are really calling for. If the latter, please stop being so melodramatic. You aren't convincing anyone of anything, just irritating people. If you want to rant, spin up a WordPress or something.

I care a lot more about the lives of the tens of thousands of people who would die in an American civil war, if not hundreds of thousands.

No fucking jokes about this. This is not a joking matter. They just killed digital democracy and the digital economy in great big undemocratic hiest and give away to big telecom companies. Fuck them all to hell.

You're overreacting. It hasn't even taken effect yet.
And it wasn't as hellish as you make it out to be before net neutrality, I don't see why it will be that terrible after its repeal.

Ah yes, admonish me for failing to rant. I'd very much like for Net Neutrality to be in place, but it isn't worth a fucking war. Very little is worth a war.

Also, we had a functioning democracy before the internet. It'll continue to function even without net neutrality.

^ this.

Losing net neutrality is a problem, sure. But it isn’t worth a violent uprising, certainly. As Cek said, before there was net neutrality things weren’t fucked too badly, so the odds are that even without net neutrality things won’t get too fucked. A chilling effect on free speech of dubious magnitude isn’t worth killing anyone over. Let alone burning down a country.

It is the complete principle of this whole Goddamn thing. We are intitled to a free and open internet without ISPs controlling what we say and do. Why are you guys treating this like a minor inconvenience rather than an assault on the internet we know and love so much?

Because it's not a big deal, like G-Tech said.

It's a bad thing, yes, but it's not "let's have a revolution" level bad.

At least you openly claim you're entitled. You aren't entitled to shit. The internet is a fucking luxury. A useful tool? Yes. A human right? Fuck that noise.

You suddenly care about human rights? Work on fixing the foreclosure crisis. Housing is an actual human right, but people don't give a fuck about that. I recognize this is whataboutism, but you certainly aren't making rational arguments, so why should I care about that?

No that’s just the bullshit philosophy they use to cover the fact they’re pandering to their donors.

You've got cause and effect all wrong. They had their ideology first, then they got support from people who benefited. If the Tea Party, which is the GOP establishment at this point, really was just the servants of the wealthy, why did it nearly wreck the economy on two separate occasions and repeatedly fail to pass a health care bill for ideological and political reasons?

If ISP don't use an internet police force to eliminate left-wing influence on the internet, then eliminating Net Neutrality will be an utter failure.
