Short Bio: Captain Estra Daglear is that most nefarious of creatures - a female, a human, a privateer. Hers is a rough lot; a life of danger and double shifts, and all the deprivation that comes with a life in deep space. She was born and raised on one of the safer edge worlds of the Coronus Masif, barely a parsec from the Perlemian Route. That heritage of vice and commerce is free-stamped on her face and in her eyes. In her accent and her stride. Her past is mediocrity, her present savagery, her future death and folly. Yet it is her life all the same. She'd have it no other way.
Faction: Rebel Alliance
Weapon: DH-17 blaster pistol.

I'll accept it.

Do you have links to support either of those claims? Because I've never heard either of those apply to Star Wars. (The first I've only ever heard in Star Trek: Legacy, and the second I think is from Halo's slipspace transportation, not the Star Wars hyperdrive).

Exactly, there is also the range of the jump, how much power they have in reserve, what systems they draw said power to keep the other systems on line, etc etc.
The science behind Hyperspace travel is surprisingly interesting.

Well, let's see...
They're coming from Kuat, if I recall correctly?

Name: Jionni Castaneda
Age: 31
Short Bio:Born in one of the Skyhooks tethered to Coruscant, a bustling place of commerce, merchants, and the less reputable. With parents of the law-abiding type, Jionni would be convinced of the Republic’s ever-necessary drive towards law and order, though of course that wasn’t the only reason. As this was Coruscant, and as this was a Skyhook, corruption and crime was something considered nearly legal despite the more technical details of the law. Some Skyhooks were even owned, wholly, by cartels; they were carte blanche for whomever owned them. Both of his parents, not having grown-up in this sort of place, were determined to stay clean.
Upon growing to adulthood, he had some few options. It had been difficult enough to stay away from the gangs as a child, away from their temptations for a job if only he helped them out with giving-away these items, with moving messages, with this or that, yet as an adult it would be doubly so. They saw a potential bruiser, a potential pilot, a potential entertainer, a potential slave, they saw all those things and Jionni, and his parents, knew it. He could have gone-off on a freighter, yet those had too many connections back to the cartels and syndicates. The only other offer was a government one, one with those people he looked-up from the dirty floor and said were of order and law.
He saw the outer worlds as an aid to various diplomats, a wetworker who got the shuttle tickets, organized transportation, things of the sort, and saw how little control and ability he had over those situations, how little the Republic really was lawful and orderly. As a civilian, and one denied entry to the Academy on the grounds of a heart condition, Jionni would be frustrated by the denial of his right to fight, frustrated by the incompetence even he could see from his lower position of the Jedi and of the Republic.
With the rise of the Empire, the destruction of the Jedi, he would once again apply towards the Academy and accepted in the clerical chaos. Medical records were in flux for Jionni for a reason, as he had attempted to find some greater leverage on those Yeomen and had finally done so.
Since that point, with the ruthlessness befitting of a civil servant determined to rise to a position wherein he might affect things with some strength, Jionni has developed enough money to bring what he thought should be there, well, there. A man of progress, the man’s opinions on most Imperial machinations is poor; he dislikes the unofficial doctrine of starfighter pilots to fly without shields and as such has made the order to install deflector shields on all craft operating from the Isaac’s Wrath, along with the acquisition of heavier craft for anti-capital ship engagements.
Jionni’s military career has been somewhat impressive, though by no means of massive scale. He has taken independent action against various Rebel-aligned groups, attempting to cut-off their support from the more well-armed dissidents and terrorists. As such, no less than three pirate organizations who aided Rebels have been destroyed along the Outer Rim along with a minor cabal of Antarian Rangers. His name is not quite known throughout the enemy, though perhaps better known in Imperial circles.
