EVENTS IN CASSADAIGUA CAUSE SOME CONCERN
by Brianne Henry,
Last night, there was a disturbing story out of Grande Mountain, Cassadaigua of a mass shooting at a Men’s Rights protest. Additionally, there was significant automobile vandalism that took place, and we have heard that three vehicles were set ablaze, and that cars belonged to people protesting. Here in Newmanistan, as a nation that formerly bordered Cassadaigua in One Big Island before each of us went our separate regional ways, it’s a reminder of the corruption that exists in that country. It’s a nation that should be great, and for the most part it is. It is an economic powerhouse, a sporting powerhouse, with a royal family that has been very successful but for the most part, compassionate, if you are among the right gender. But they just have this problem, which they have never been able to get rid of. On one hand, it’s nation to look up to if you are woman. There is no better example of a nation that proves that a woman can do everything that a man can do in life. On the other hand, these instances of sexism happen too frequently.
Male Equality Now, as we remember it, is a men’s rights organization that wants to do the right thing, and wants to do it peacefully. It seemed as though they were making some progress when we last remembered, but a Cassadagan press release suggested that the nation was becoming concerned with international male influences and that is a reason why they pulled out of everything in sports, and perhaps other things. With the nation hosting an event like this, it would seem to be a logical time for Male Equality Now, or MEN, to stage some protests to remind the world of the corruption in Cassadaigua. From what we’ve been told, that’s all that was happening in Grande Mountain. None of the violence was created by the protestors, and instead it was instigated by a group of female college students. As of right now, the shooter got away, perhaps able to easily blend into the crowd during a moment of panic.
How Queen Cassie and Cassadagan law enforcement respond to this is critical. There is no nation in the world that can completely control the actions of all of its citizens. Tragedies like this happen, and it does not mean it was endorsed by the government. Now law enforcement must move quickly, and find the shooter and bring them to justice. As for the world, we will all await to hear how the nation will ensure that this will not happen again. Are traveling fan bases safe? I think so. Historically from what I recall there is never an issue in that regard but I may be wrong. We’ll reserve judgement right now.
Otherwise, there was some baseball played! We are now 24 games into the thirty game season, and if you are from Schiltzberg, you can already make your plans. Of course, they were anyway, and didn’t need to wait to make sure they qualified. A few other nations are on the cusp, including the Rockets who have a magic number of one. With a 3-2 record against Zwangzug and all games close, that is not a tiebreaker we can say we have in the bag, so we’ll still need to get that “1". I’m sure we will. The battle for second is going to be interesting, and that MD30 game between us and Zwangzug could be critical for our opponents.
Enjoy these last few games, several home games coming up!
