A meeting, hosted by LRU (Lisander Rugby Union), between members of Lisander, Lorenthia and Alice Bay Rugby Unions, sowed the seeds of a partnership between the three nations in order to lift them to the top of the NSRB Rankings. Among the actions approved at the meeting were the creation of a joint Newswire, the definition of a rank in common for teams of three nations and especially the tournaments between national teams, regional teams and clubs.

LRU Headquarters, Sauer Bulding, Marina Bay, Soria.

Lisander is the strongest of the three unions. Currently 10th in NSRB World Sevens Rankings, the nation is now turning eyes to Rugby XV. The Lisander U-20 team won the U-20 Rugby Cup. Their teams are called Quinze das Lises, in english, "The Irises".

The origin of the "Irises"
Literally, the Lisanderian team should be called "Lys XV". But in Lisander, the words "Iris" and "Lys" are theoretically synonymous. The Iris pseudacorus, LRU badge, is commonly called "Fleur de Lys". In 1924, in the first tour of Lisander to Alice Bay, A local reporter looked at the jersey and translated the team name as "The Irises". Soon, it was widespread on the media, and it was accepted by the LRU.

The Lisander Rugby Union is the result of the Association between URSA (portuguese for Soria and Azhaar Rugby Union), SRU (Southwest Rugby Union) and URPA (portuguese for Principality of Ermines Rugby Union). and hosts its home games between EON Arena, in Despina, seat of SRU and Saint Helen's Park, in Soria, provisional seat of URSA.

The Main Uniform for Lisander National Rugby Teams is Green with yellow trims, white shorts and green socks, and the Alternate is usually white with green trims, green shorts and white socks.

The older of the three unions, Alice Bay Rugby Union is developing their rugby for international games, just a little behind Lisander, their sister nation and historic rivals. Lisander began the process of Professionalisation and Internationalisation earlier, and so in recent times, Alice Bay wasn't being a strong match for the Irises. However, after the first season of the AMI Cup and the RWC25 the levels of both teams are again equalising. The team insignia is the Crux, or Southern Cross constellation.

ABRU started playing the in North Australasia Rugby Sevens Cup, finishing top 4, losing a semifinal against Freyhill. ABRU thought about contest the result since there was not bonus award or corrected levels, but finished leaving NARUA as silent as joined.

Recently, ABRU joined NSRB and reached the Plate Quarterfinals in its first tournament, the ABVF Sevens. Alice Bay Sevens team is currently 28th in NSRB Sevens Rankings. Alice Bay debuted in NSRB Rugby World Cup in Edition 25. After a great group stage, when the Crux made the first place in the pool, they were defeated in round of 16 by East Saintland. After this event, Crux is paving its road to the top, and is in the 15th position of NSRB Union Rankings.

Alice Bay national teams wear white jersey with red collar and navy trims at home, with navy shorts and white socks. Alternate uniform includes red jersey and socks, with white or navy shorts.

The weaker the legs of the tripod is also the youngest union of the Tri Nations. Lorenthia Rugby Union has only 9 years old, and is still essentially amateur. With less than 20 registered clubs, Lorenthia still seeking financial support to make Rugby XV championships.

Lorenthia does not have any international experience apart from heavy defeats against Alice Bay and Lisander.

This year, the LRU will hold its first international tournament, the Eisenport Invitational Sevens. The search for interested nations follow slowly, while the Tri Nations works internally for the tournament.

Lorenthia Home Uniform have a striped jersey in white, blue and black, black shorts and blue socks. They have not used an alternate uniform yet.

Lisander have two national rugby championships. The regular professional league, made up from Pro12 (formerly PRO10) and the Torneio Nacional de Primavera, the national championship, when teams are divided by its geographical Unions, and not by professional status.

More to come.

Prior to 1990, the games between the three regional rugby unions were the peak of the Lisanderian Rugby. The four federations faced up once or twice a year, depending on the rule, and the leader of round robin between them won the Unions Cup and the title of national champion.

URSA
The União de Rugby de Soria e Azhaar; Soria and Azhaar Rugby Union is responsible for rugby in the national capital, Soria, and within its province. URSA has the oldest team of the Four Unions, The Roses. The Roses have the largest number of titles of the Unions Cup, 43 in all. The Irises captain, Andreas Linzmeyer, is also the current captain of the Roses.

SRU
The Sudoeste Rugby Union; Southwest Rugby Union is responsible for Rugby in the southern and southwestERN of Lisander. Founded three years after URSA, its historical rivalry with URSA is one more piece of the sports feud between the cities of the East and the West. The current captain of Iris XV is Cédric Carrasso, Loosehead Prop and Irises #1.

URPA
The União de Rugby do Principado dos Arminhos; Ermines Principality Rugby Union is responsible for Rugby in the northern half of Lisander. Although it covers more than half of the national territory, it is the weakest of the unions, since the area that encompasses has low population density. Eric Lasses, an Inside Centre from amateur team Sporting Grandeville, is the current captain.

A special case, the LAN
The Liga Académica Nacional; National Academic League is not a proper Union, because it does not have its own geographical jurisdiction. LAN is the National College Sports Association, responsible for the College Rugby under the authority of the LRU, and fields the Lisander Universities XV. Since it does not have a fixed team, there is no captain.

Lisander Universities XV won the Unions Cup in three ocasions.

AMI Cup

Postby Alice Bay » Mon Mar 27, 2017 3:48 am

AMI Cup

Alice Bay started its international Rugby Plan based on Lisander example. But Alice Bay is three times smaller. Alice Bay has only 2.4 million inhabitants (RP Data). Is a nation with the size of a small metropolis. Considering this fact, is virtually impossible to have a Professional Club League, since all teams are amateurs. Sponsoring contracts are usually small, enough only to help buying uniforms and pay for travels. And only when the team have a sponsor. Most of the time, the players have to pay from their pockets to play in amateur tournaments.

The Plan of ABRU consists in sponsoring the Unions of the 11 districts, with part of the money of their sponsors, Liniers and AMI. AMI took the title sponsoring of the Unions Cup from International Season 1.

The 11 districts were divided in groups, based on recent results. And the Bay City Rugby Union split into two. Two teams from southern Bay City (Crux Rugby and RC Forest), unhappy because their players were not usually invited for Bay City teams, interrupted the ABRU meeting to found the Southland Rugby Union. The new district was then moved to Championship Division, together with the weaker teams.

Pro10 Sevens - International Season 1

Following the 10-season plan, the LRU turned the Pro10, the major Rugby Union Championship in the nation, in a sevens series, allowing networking between teams and players, aswell as a increase in the interest of the TV, with an entire tournament in one or two days. Club Sparta was the National Champion of Season 1. After this season, the Sevens format was abandoned.

Pro12 Qualifiers

Postby Lisander » Mon Apr 10, 2017 1:46 am

The LRU Plan of ten seasons is getting some new developments, as expected. Predicting decent results in the Rugby World Cup, the Lisander Rugby Union plan for the season after RWC is establishing Lisander as a "Tier 2 Nation", still behind powerhouses like Neu Engollon and Ko-oren, but in a process of constant evolution.
The thing with tier 2 is based mainly in the real World Rugby Tier 2, a group with nations that are currently evolving its rugby to reach the top level. Nations like Romania, Georgia and Japan are examples of Tier 2 Nations.

And this constant evolution requires a lot of play. And with the Sevens in the Top 10 of the NSRB Rankings, now is time to turn eyes back to the Rugby Union "à XV" again. Thinking about this, the LRU established the Pro10 with its traditional format for the Season 26. The Sevens Series is now abandoned, and the matches go back to the League + Playoffs format. And two more teams will join for the new season. Harlequins, a players-owned team, sponsored by entexis and lead by the National Team Scrum-Half Damian Skye, and the St. Helen's Club, that after receiving some income from URSA and LRU (payments of the rent of St. Helen's Park to URSA Sevens and other events) also set up a professional team.

However, unexpected events occurred. Beaumont Athletic, without money to keep Football, Hockey and Rugby teams, reduced the size of the investments. The rope always breaks on the weaker side, and pro Rugby was discontinued. The amateur team will play in a lower division. And this abandon opened one spot.

Eight teams applied for it. 4 from URSA, 3 from SRU and one from URPA. The LRU decided for a Qualifying Tournament.

MONT-SAINT-MARTIN PRESENTS MONTBENOIT OLD BOYS PARTNERSHIP
Tiago Dons, to therugbyzone.ls

Mont-Saint-Martin Rugby started to use Old Boys name and colours as a tribute.

Every rugby fan who follows the sport for some years should remember Montbenoit Old Boys, from Saugeais, for their prominence between seasons 6 and 15 of RUCT. They were 6-time RUCT finalists (Winners in seasons 8, 10 and 15, runners-up in seasons 6, 11 and 12). The Saugeaisians made history since Rugby Union has never been the main sport in the nations. And these glories inspired a group of youngsters from Mont-Saint-Martin, a small city in Western Lisander, to create its own team.

Mont-Saint-Martin already had its own communal team, the amateur side of the Union Sportive Martinoise, but four years ago, a group of 7-8 youngsters from age 16 to 20, who were usually seen playing rugby video games in local arcades, decided to "stop being lazy and play the real game". They chose to name the team Mont-Saint-Martin Old Boys, in a tribute to Montbenoit Old Boys who was their favourite team on the screen. They started training in the local parks, and in some time the team had more than 30 players. The development was a sucess. In six months, they managed to gather some experiences players and defeated US Martinoise. After some time playing Sunday Leagues and URPA invitational tournaments, winning teams like Pines Athletic XV (second side), the club faced the possibility of join the professional bandwagon started by the LRU.

Last year, LRU chairman Andreas Vins and every Lisanderian Rugby fan was presented to the team when Gavin and Ennes Aurand, two brothers and Mont-Saint-Martin players were chosen to Arminhos' side that faced URSA Roses in the friendly match for the 92th birthday of URPA. After that, other Montbenoit Old Boys Fans from Lisander started to support the team. Thinking about the new second division, the Mont-Saint-Martin started a campaign to find sponsors. With the support from Lumina (the national electric company) and from the Communal Council, Old Boys was about to establish as a semi-pro team.

Recently, the support that everyone expected finally confirmed: The original Montbenoit Old Boys answered Aurand letter, allowing the Lisanderian team to follow the steps of the multi-champion side from Saugeaisian capital. The partnership terms was revealed this wednesday in the club official website. The lisanderian team is allowed to use the name, logo and history of Old Boys for team purpose. "We're honored to keep the black and gold legacy alive. Thank you, Montbenoit Old Boys, we truly love you!", said the note.

THE TRI-NATIONS

CONSIDERING the expansion of rugby throughout Imperan League;

ASSUMING that the results obtained by Lorenthia were much lower than expected;

INTERESTED in promoting fair competitions, with no absurd differences in experience and technique between teams;

WE, the presidents of the Tri-Nations national rugby unions, hereby declare the Tri-Nations agreement is EXTINCT, and should be superseded by a new, global initiative that should allow the maintenance and growth of amateur rugby in other nations of the Imperan League, thus providing fairer competition for all.
