Taggity.

Might go Rouge Sith/Grey Jedi with a Force sensitive companion.

Also, let me just say, UNSC orbital Super Mac has the potential to shatter an IMP II, and reloads every 5 seconds.

That's why you drop out of hyperspace in close orbit to blast them before they have a chance to acquire :p
Though you're right that a SuperMAC would do horrible things to a Star Destroyer if given a chance. Actually, ME is kind of at a disadvantage compared to the other two. Even a dreadnaught would be pretty lightweight compared to the stuff the other two have

Yeah. That's pretty much the sole reason we made this a character Rp.

Yeah I only see two accepted ones. What was wrong with everyone else?

As for the Halo folks, aren't we just getting to SPARTAN-IVs? The Infinity is probably elsewhere, but there'd be a reasonable amount of Spartans in the expedition, right?

Valea Bellinian

Postby The Templar High Council » Wed May 24, 2017 1:40 pm

Character Application
Mandatory
Name: Valea Bellinian

Age: 27

Sex: Female

Race & Faction: Turian, Andromeda Initiative

Appearance:
Valea Bellinian
Armor

Universe of Origin: Mass Effect

Biography: Valea was raised as any Turian was; in a strictly regimented society demanding of civil service. Lucky for her, she was a good shot. Entering the military when she came of age and never looking back, Valea moved through the ranks at a surprising pace coming from her non-combative parents.

Valea progressed so quickly and possessed so much skill in combat, that she was handpicked from the normal ranks of soldiers by the Turian Blackwatch. The elite group of special operations soldiers performs the toughest, most dangerous missions that Palaven needs completed. Valea was not only good enough to join the ranks of this elite group, she thrived in the high-risk sorties that demanded every ounce of her dedication to complete (even if some of the missions were questionable at best).

After murdering her way traveling across the galaxy on missions, Valea believed that she'd seen all there was to see. The Tuirian became slightly disillusioned with her military life, until hearing about the Andromeda Initiative. A whole new galaxy... to police in the name of imperialist Palaven. Her hopes brightened and she put herself forward to journey to the far off galaxy, selected because of her training and experience to lead the Turian expedition as their Pathfinder. An experimental surgery combining organic and electronic parts was nothing to a soldier who'd seen everything, and fought most of it, and Valea woke up after the ordeal with a new appreciation for computers. After becoming accustomed to her augments and discovering the abilities provided by the AI in her head, including some latent biotic abilities that Valea found to be quite fun, the Turian finally piled on board an Ark to head for the new galaxy, ready to do her people proud (and make the most of this new galaxy while doing so).

Powers/Abilities: Pathfinder Kit. Turian mandatory military training.

Specific Equipment:
Phaeston
M-5 Phalanx

AI: SAM (Simulated Adaptive Matrix)
Ship: Indago
Land vehicle: M-91 Stingray

Optional!

Likes: Handling weapons, traveling (being a tourist), human basketball.

Dislikes: Civilian casualties (sometimes they're necessary, but it's never good), cold temperatures, people more stubborn than she is.

Character Application
Mandatory
Name: Martius Shan

Sex: Male

Race & Faction: Human, Galactic Republic

Appearance:

Universe of Origin: Star Wars

Biography: Martius Shan was born on Coruscant, and like most Jedi was taken by the Order at a young age when it was discovered he was force sensitive. He was raised in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where among many other things he studied the Force and trained in the use of the lightsaber, eventually becoming quite skilled in Forms II and III. He completed his Jedi Trials a few years before the onset of the Clone Wars, and as a Jedi General led a battalion of clone troopers in battles throughout the Galaxy. He proved to be a talented strategist, and unlike most Jedi, tended to focus on the long term benefits and detriments of his actions, rather than their immediate consequences. This led to Martius developing a sort of "Needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" mentality, and though it helped him win no small number of battles, it would also eventually come to backfire on him.

Not long ago, Martius was informed that the CIS had occupied the planet of Tinnel IV, and was ordered to drive them off the planet. When he arrived however, he quickly learned that his task would be far more difficult than was originally thought, as the super tactical droid commander employed a strategy similar to that used at Nabat on the planet Ryloth, only considerably more refined. The droid commander on Tinnel IV occupied a major port on the planet, and instead of grouping his proton cannons in a small area with a small amount of civilians near the weapons to deter a direct assault, it had proton cannons placed all throughout the port, using all of its denizens and infrastructure to deter an attack. The super tactical droid was also intelligent enough to bring far more cannons than were used at Ryloth.

After driving the Sepratist flotilla out of the system in a short naval battle, Martius' fleet orbited the planet, and after examining the situation Martius and his advisors decided to try and replicate Obi-Wan's plan, and after night fell on the port city Martius and a group of some 200 clone troopers set out in ten gunships towards the planet's surface in an attempt to land outside the port, sneak in, and disable the guns. Unfortunately, the super tactical droid expected the Jedi to do precisely that, and shortly after entering the planet's atmosphere the gunships were subjected to a massive barrage of AA fire. In a matter of seconds seven of the gunships were destroyed, and with no hope of making it to the surface intact, Martius ordered the remaining gunships to return to the fleet.

Upon returning to his flagship, Martius discussed the situation with his advisors and the situation wasn't pretty. They'd received reports that the flotilla they drove out of the system had linked up with a Separatist fleet, and that fleet seemed to be headed towards the Tinnel System. Martius' subordinates had already contacted the Republic to request reinforcements, but had been informed that the Republic fleet was overstretched as it was, and that they simply didn't have any reinforcements to send. Meanwhile, it appeared that the much of the droid army in the port city was preparing to mobilize and begin its conquest of the rest of the planet. Martius knew that if the droids weren't defeated before their fleet arrived and established a blockade, the droids would likely be able to conquer the entire planet before the Republic could muster enough forces to attempt to drive them from the world, and if they managed to set up more of those proton cannons on the surface by then the Republic would almost certainly sustain extremely heavy losses in any such campaign; losses the Republic simply could not afford at this point in the war. With little time to think, Martius weighed what few options he had and ultimately decided that the lives of the people of an entire planet outweighed those of the people in a single city, and ordered an orbital bombardment of the port.

Within minutes, the proton cannons and the entire droid army was destroyed as the port city was reduced to ash. When the Separatist fleet learned of the bombardment, they decided it was simply not worth the resources to attempt another invasion, and were diverted to other systems. The battle for the Tinnel System was won in a single stroke, but at a heavy cost; over 50,000 civilians were killed in the bombardment, and the ripples through the Force as those countless souls cried out in terror only to be instantly silenced would haunt Martius for the rest of his life. Despite the importance of the victory, and preventing a new major front being opened in the war, when the Senate learned of his actions they immediately called for Martius to be relieved of his command; denouncing him as the "Butcher of Tinnel IV." The Jedi Council was torn on what to do with Martius; some called for his immediate expulsion while others argued that his actions were taken out of strategic necessity.

Eventually they reached a compromise, and when Martius was ordered before the Council, they informed him that he was to be relieved of command of his battalion, and reassigned to a new expeditionary fleet the Senate was preparing to send on an exploratory mission into a neighboring galaxy. Though disappointed he would no longer be contributing to the war effort, Martius understood the Council's decision and agreed to do as they said without protest. Little did he know, he was about to embark on the greatest adventure of his life...

Powers/Abilities: Highly skilled in lightsaber Forms II and III (Makashi and Soresu), and is able to use the usual assortment of light-side and universal Force powers such as Force push, Force barrier, Force jump, Force heal, Comprehend speech, Mind trick, Tutaminis, etc. He also has considerable experience leading soldiers into battle, and has basic training in diplomacy and piloting.

Equipment: Armor and lightsaber (both as seen in image), comm device

Optional!

Likes: The Jedi, history, clone troopers, Venator-class cruisers

Dislikes: The CIS, the Sith, politics, incompetence, Munificent-class frigates

Theme Song: https://youtu.be/Y1MrZUmMpZM?t=5m49s

Tropes: The Leader (Levelheaded), Four-Star Badass, A Father to His Men, Good is Not Soft, The Paladin, Master Swordsman, Heroic Lineage, The Atoner, Badass Bookworm, [will probably add more based on his actions in the RP]

OP Says otherwise, said something like a Punic-class carrier, but I'm sure that it'll have a few Spartans onboard.

Biography: originally being born on one of the outer rim worlds, the exact location only known to him, he found himself infatuated with the force and the stories of the Jedi. At a young age he set off from home for Jedi council, certain he could make the cut.

I think number one looks better. But are they a Mandalorian?

Yes, they were a Mandalorian jedi that left the Order when the Clone Wars started, but were injured in an ambusha nd captured as he was trying to retrieve a Mandalorian artifact from the Sith.

He was remade and later 'convinced' to join the side of the Sith/CIS.

Character Application
Mandatory

Name: Spartan Harrison Thatcher

Sex: Male

Race & Faction: Human, UNSC

Appearance: Face included

Universe of Origin: Halo

Biography:
For someone so (in)famous and well-respected as the Colonel Harrison Thatcher to become a SPARTAN-IV would mean that the big man would have had a hell of a story to tell to his troops. The then Marine Lieutenant known as Harrison Thatcher, a country boy raised on the Outer Colony of Salisbury by a military family, was just fresh out of the UNSC Military academy and already carrying an Assault Rifle on the battlefields of the human Outer Colonies battling the Covenant menace practically knocking on the doors of the Inner colony. Eager to join the fight against the alien empire despite his rank, Thatcher gladly led his merry band of UNSC Marines- some of whom he had simply picked up on the way to fight the Covenant - and fought his way through scores of Covenant soldiers either too busy shooting back at them, or fleeing from the battle cry that the Lieutenant and his Marines let out on every charge. Thatcher's reputation as a natural leader and his team's reputation as a ferocious fighting force on the battlefield soon gained the attention of the upper echelon of the UNSC Marine Corps command staff, earning him the ranks of Captain, and later on Major, as well as inviting him into the UNSC's Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs), the battle-hardened special forces group otherwise known as the Helljumpers. The mere presence of the now ODST Major Thatcher - likely shouting out a battle cry as he unloaded his weapon into the enemy - struck fear into the hearts of the Covenant he fought, who had quickly began to realize that this man was no ordinary soldier. No ordinary man either, at that. Some even speculated him to be a Spartan, but many say that this was only a rumor he himself created in order to try to one-up ONI's shady new men and women in armor.

Major Thatcher's rivalry with the SPARTAN program fueled his rage and quest for power within the UNSC - the tipping point of which being his involvement in the Fall of Reach. While Thatcher and his team was lucky enough to escape the planet alive, he saw the action of the new Spartan-IIIs of Noble Team as yet another challenge alongside the already Legendary SPARTAN-IIs, many of whom perished on Reach. He wanted to be like them - but these SPARTANs had a lifetime worth of training. It felt unfair to him, yet, strangely, filled him with even more determination to try and one-up the SPARTAN-IIs and SPARTAN-IIIs one day. His dedication to his goal would later come to reward him in the future, after it became clear that Major Thatcher needed an upgrade, especially to fight threats like the Covenant and the Flood in the future.

Thatcher's involvement with the UNSC Campaign on The Ark not only earned him the rank of Colonel, but also became his stepping point for his path to becoming a SPARTAN-IV, after surviving the final battles and the onslaught of the Flood, miraculously. During the post-war era, Thatcher was invited to undergo augmentation to become a SPARTAN-IV, the new generation of the series of super soldiers to act as humanity's guardians for the future. Colonel Thatcher gladly took the invitation, reasoning that if he could not beat the Spartans as an ODST, maybe he'd have a chance at beating them in their own game as a SPARTAN-IV. Alongside other veterans of the war, former ODSTs and surviving SPARTANs, Thatcher quickly underwent the augmentation process to become a SPARTAN-IV, donning the flashy new Mjolnir GEN2 Powered Assault Armor with an arsenal of new and old weapons to choose from. With his newfound power, Thatcher went on to fight the remnants of the Covenant unaware of the war's ending, a task in which he enjoyed greatly, as always.

As of the events of Convergence, Spartan Thatcher was suddenly reassigned from "mop-up duty" to the New Horizon Expedition, being stationed aboard the flagship of the operation, the Punic-class Carrier UNSC Go for Broke. As one of the new SPARTAN-IVs assigned to the expedition, and as the highest-ranking Spartan on the UNSC Go for Broke unofficially, Thatcher was placed as the commander for all Spartan-based operations on the ship and the Expedition, still looking to form a new group of soldiers under his command, just like his old Marine squad he used to lead as a Lieutenant.

Powers/Abilities:
  • Standard SPARTAN-IV augmentations: The SPARTAN-IV Augmentation process is a great big leap forward from the previous SPARTAN generations and their respective augmentation processes. The SPARTAN-IV program was intended to produce a soldier that was as powerful as a SPARTAN-II. but as cheap as a SPARTAN-III. Similar to the ORION (SPARTAN-I) Project, the candidates for being a SPARTAN-IV consisted only of adults rather than children like in previous years. This pool was either selected from existing SPARTAN-IIs and III's, or from former/active UNSC soldiers and veterans who show exceptional potential. Many SPARTAN-IV's, like in Thatcher's case, were even previously ODSTs. While the augmentations were far more advanced than the previous generations and offered a 0% fatality rate, they still could not produce similar results without risk of high failure, due to the lack of any genetic requirements required for the program (opposed to the select genetic pool from the previous programs). To counter this drawback, candidates are modified to the closest margin possible of the physical results from the two previous Spartan programs, then relying on the new Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor (GEN2) armor to enhance the Spartan's abilities even more than that of the older GEN1 armor.
The physical improvements provided by the SPARTAN-IV augmentation include, but are not limited to:
    • Increased speed, agility, and reaction time
    • Increased strength, massively increased durability, increased stamina
    • Boosted perception and increased night vision
Most of these abilities are enhanced by the GEN2 Mjolnir armor, allowing the user to accomplish a variety of physical feats previously rendered impossible to someone unable to use the armor.
  • Enhanced Training: Everyone knows that the Spartans are very heavily trained, regardless of generation. A typical Spartan would most likely have extreme proficiency with handling all kinds of weapons, be it human, Covenant, improvised, or otherwise Forerunner in nature (a Spartan could dual wield a plasma pistol with a Magnum like he knows what he's doing). Thatcher is no exception - having fought in the war against the Covenant, and after partaking in the Spartan War Games, Thatcher is a master of nearly every weapon known to the UNSC that's held with one or two hands, and even has had training with a few covenant ones as well. Spartans are also trained in hand to hand and close quarter combat, and normally have vastly superior intelligence and training compared most soldiers - although SPARTAN-IVs can be considered.. diet.. Spartans. In a way. In the end, a SPARTAN-IV without the armor and gear is inferior to a SPARTAN-II with a lifetime's worth of training.

Optional!

Likes: Guns, yelling, fighting the Covenant, being a Spartan, heavy weapons. Takes pride in ordering troops and having orders completed well.

Dislikes: The Covenant, losing, being inferior to previous Spartan Generations, insubordination.

Theme Song: Here

Tropes:
  • Full Metal Badass: Get in a fight with a fully-suited Thatcher, and you probably will be leaving the area with a leg or two missing, possibly curled behind your head like some sort of pretzel.
  • Aliens are Bastards: FUCKING COVENANT
  • Colonel Badass: While "Spartan" technically is a Spartan's rank, Thatcher used to be a Colonel in the UNSC Marine Corps - and a badass one at that. Think of a Drill Sergeant or your typical WWII "Sarge" badass, but several dozen ranks higher. Some of his badassery as a grunt contributed to his reputation as a Spartan.
SHOUTING SHOOTER: THINK HUDSON FROM ALIENS
SCREAMING WARRIOR: Thatcher is the only guy who will be screaming at the top of his lungs while beating the hell out of a Grunt. This screaming occasionally includes screaming at his men.

Universe of Origin: Halo, Gamma Company of the UNSC

Biography: Born on Erika City, Eridanus III, her parents were normal merchants who had no interests on political or military affairs. She was selected as part of SPARTAN-III program after graduated from high school. Despite the fact that the program composed primarily of vengeful orphans from fallen colonies, her family was lucky enough to fled safely to the inner system and worked for logistics soon after, despite reluctantly. Her training and augmentations gave her the ability to be better marksmanship than the rest of the Gamma Company, mediocre on the leadership and moderately-wise on the tactics, she was passed over for leadership roles, something that she enjoyed in hindsight.

Powers/Abilities:

- SPARTAN-III Augmentations
- Illegal drugs for tolerance of injuries, strength, raw power, speed
- Better marksmanship compared to the rest of Gamma Company
