Basically, yes.

For reference, I'd look at any of the Inquisitors in Star Wars Rebels and how each one acts and pick one to recreate or mimic. Hell, you might even get away from ripping it if you app it well enough.

Ah, Spindle. You always bring smiles.

For Rebels, yes. I doubt there are many in the Imperial military. Pretty sure Thrawn is the only alien in it, and he's a Chiss who happens to be very good at his job. I might allow one for the Imperials, but that would mean they can't be above Shocktrooper/private.

Many thanks.

Also, I'd imagine that there are other nonhumans in the Imperial military, but they'd be heavily discriminated against (and so unlikely to join this mission) if they didn't take steps to hide their nature.

Well, I'm already playing a Sergeant. There's one Sergeant per side and one force sensitive per side (for the Rebels, the force sensitive can happen to be the Sergeant or one of the Specialists). So... I would've had to bump you down to take the other Specialist spot anyhow. :p

IMPERIAL CHARACTER APP - OPERATION BLACKOUT:

Name: Second Brother
Age: Looks to be 30
Sex: Male
Appearance:
Image
Personality: The Second Brother is very sadistic and cocky, often torturing and playing with his victims before granting them the mercy of death. He is very cunning, amoral, and manipulative, he likes to mess with his opponent's mind making it easier to defeat them. When not in battle he normally cold and unfeeling to anyone he meets but still has a sense of humor, albeit a dark and morbid one. He is respectful towards his superiors or those that he does deem as his peers and he shows great loyalty towards the Empire.
Rank: Inquisitor
Skills:
  • Very proficient with a dual-sided lightsaber.
  • Proficient with Force-Telekinesis
  • Highly elusive
  • Master of mind-tricks.

Weapons/Equipment:
  • Opposed to the standard issued "spinning" lightsaber, he opted for a normal double-sided lightsaber.
Biography: Not much is known about the Second Brother's past, he doesn't talk about it and no one dares to ask him. Some rumors say that Darth Sideous found him on Korriban, wandering the ruins of the anceint Sith home world. Others say he was just a lost force sensative child that Darth Vader took in and trained. Either way, it is evident the Second Brother is very powerful in the Force, possible more so than the Grand Inquisitor. His loyalty to the Empire is unquestionable as he's proven time and again by hunting down the remaining Jedi and keeping their lightsabers as trophies, something he picked up from reading about General Grievous in the Clone Wars. While no one truly knows who the Second Brother is, that doesn't stop him from being feared by his enemies and respected by his superiors.

RP Example: Look in sig below.

Probably. Hence why I said there's probs only one near-human alien / alien in general on the Imperial side, and they can't be above Private/standard Shocktrooper.

The only difference between Mena's race and Humanity is that their skin is grey and they have denser muscle fibres.

Bycrest, just letting you know that the Inquisitorius in the current canon based on Inquisitors we've seen are either known as 'Inquisitor' (only addressed by their title or a codename), or to other Inquisitors, as something like the 'Eighth Brother', or 'Sixth Sister', etc. with exemption for the Grand Inquisitor, who is known as the Grand Inquisitor.

Just a note that the Inquisitorius probably brainwashes members into only accepting those as their names and not really having 'real' names.

Their design does serve a purpose: it freaks the fuck out of most Jedi who see them.

At first, at least.

Helicopter-sabres are a little too far though, Disney. We rebooted to remove the dumb stuff, not add in some more.

The helicopter aspect of them is unrealistic, I admit, but the spinning function (if you remove the ability to fly because of them) does give Inquisitors a distinct advantage against Jedi and the likes.

That it does. It's quite an interesting trade-off: at first, it's horribly effective, but once someone learns to adapt to it, it falls apart rather quickly.

Pun not intended.

Anyway, I'll see what I can do about getting a Rebel up. As soon as the eternal quest for workable images ends.

IMPERIAL CHARACTER APP - OPERATION BLACKOUT:

Name: Mena Kymeri
Age: 23
Sex: Female
Appearance: Mena
Armour
Personality: Equal parts Friendly, Supportive, and reckless. Mena can usually be seen reading books or talking with her squadmates, while in battle, she doesn't seem to show any fear, charging at enemy positions with no caution whatsoever. Mena can also get a bit childish when she doesn't get to do what she wants to do. One time a squadmate wouldn't let her use a hacked heavy cannon to blow up a Landing ship, despite the fact she had gotten to the console first. In this case, Mena had begged him to let her have a turn, only to walk out and watch the lander crash, feeling a bit annoyed at being swindled out of the credit of destroying it. This also resulted in a combat capable survivor of the crash getting thrown 10 metres into a rock wall.
Rank: Private
Skills: Area Suppression, Familiar with Heavy Weapons.
Weapons/Equipment: Mounted Flamethrower, 2 retractable rapid fire blaster cannons, Rocket launcher, Wide-spray plasma cannon, hold out blaster.
Biography: A complete geek for Holonet entertainment and model collecting, this girl is not one you'd expect to find as a Shocktrooper. However, she has had a very action-packed career as an Anti-Pirate Specialist, using a variety of heavy weapons.

Born on an obscure Agricultural planet known for its beauty, Mena's near-human status caused some discomfort when she joined the Imperial Military due to her unusual circumstances: She's short. As in, Ewoks are bigger. As such, She's physically weak compared to normal humans, so to get around this deficiency, a B3 Battle droid that was found in a Separatist holdout was modified to be used as power armour for her use in combat. Some people have called her Seripas, referencing the famous Bounty Hunter who had a similar situation during the Clone Wars, as he was about the same size as her. She's also proven to be the tiniest soldier in the Empire, something that irks her to no end.

Due to this, and the non-human problem; she's still stuck at the rank of Private, not that she minds. Mena relies on her rather-impressive armour to shield her from harm as she lays waste to the enemy lines. After several operations, including one in which a Pirate Nest on Gepparin became a distant memory (due to a stray shot catching an improperly sealed fuel dump which erased half a mountain), Mena was transferred to Squad 88, where she's found herself being teased for how harmless she looks outside of her armour.

RP Example: viewtopic.php?p=27750564#p27750564 (Not my best, but it's the only one I could find on this account)

IMPERIAL CHARACTER APP - OPERATION BLACKOUT:

Name: Hector 'Hex' Tetrarch
Age: 21
Sex: male
Appearance:
Image

Personality: friendly, naive, obedient, and extremely loyal. What you could call a 'suck up'
Rank: PFC
Skills: Great shot, hand-to-hand combat, and extremely fast
Weapons/Equipment: Standard Stormtrooper armor, T-21 light repeating blaster, combat knife, scout pistol, two thermal detonators
Biography: Born during the end of the Clone Wars, Hex was raised upon Republic propaganda. Hearing stories of great battles across the galaxy, he wanted to become a solider. He begged his family to let him join some type of Military Organization, but was always denied. Once the war ended Hex's life was normal as he attended school and other ordinary things for a boy his age. But at school he became famous for his speed. He could run at blazing speeds, beating all of his classmates. Every day he would run, and he loved doing it. Right when he turned the approate age, he enlisted at into the Imperial Academy. His views of being a glorious solider of the Emperor were quickly rethought as he went through grueling and tedious training. He was already well acquainted with a firearm, being commonly brought along hunting trips with his father. He grew bored of regular training and started to learn mechanics.

Only with additional Imperial training did Hex become more of a solider. Hex's higher-ups became impressed with his aim as well as his infamous speed. He completed his training and was deployed to guard an outer rim outpost. But when pirates attacked, the communications were destroyed. So Hex grabbed a rifle and ran to the other imperial base, which was 8 miles away. After the reinforcements arrived, he was transported back to the local Star Destroyer. Then he was deployed to various combat situations, and he preformed well in all of them. Deployed to Squad 88 to be a support role as well as mechanic.
RP Example:
Unidentified Cargo Ship

As the ship was floating in space, with no current pilot, the Freighter would creak and turn. The massive industrial lights would shut off systematically. The smuggler and pilot of the Cargo Hauler, Saz Crimes, would be trying to not make a sound. He would be crumpled up in a ball, hiding behind a large crate. As sweat poured off his face, he could hear the robotic steps inching around the ship. Saz gripped his blaster tighter, and took a slight gasp for air. He turned his head, and peeked behind the crate, and took a wide look around the pitch black cargo bay. The smuggler couldn't see anything, not even his own hands. Crimes craned his neck to the left, and he saw about four red dots starying at him. He jerked back into a crouch, hoping the figure did not see him.

Saz was a spice smuggler, and he was making a trip through an uncharted Galaxy. He knew he was far from "civilized worlds," but he tried to not think about it and get to his destination as quick as possible. He had noticed a small little dot from his cockpit's wide window, but he disregarded it as a comet or other star. But after a while, the dot was still moving at the same pace as his Freighter. The dot seemed to be getting larger and larger, and Saz was starting to rethink what it was.

He prayed to whatever deity was watching over him, and sat crumpled behind the box, motionless. He heard the sounds of metal clamping against the ground of the cargo hold, getting louder and louder. The terrified smuggler wiped tears off his face, than gripped his pistol, and sprung up. He screamed as he fired his blaster pistol rapidly into the darkness, with his eyes shut. He felt a jerk, and his body was pushed back. He didn't feel right, something was wrong. A bright flashlight beam hit his chest, and he looked down, to see a blade intrenched into his stomach. Blood filled his hands. He cried out in agony, and the figure rasied another robotic hand, and had a rifle. Saz glared at the weapon, then a bright read beam shot out, and everything went away. His body fell to the ground. The droid stood over the carcass of Crimes, than walked away. He pushed a button with one cubic figure, and the lights were turned on. He looked back to the mutilated body of his victim, than blasted opened the locked door to the cockpit. The Assassin droid scanned over the various buttons and flashing lights, than he set down a round metallic object.

Then the hunter's ship, the IG 2000, disloged itself from the boarding beam, then started moving away. The bright blue ion engines flahsed, and the ship started picking up speed. The droid inside the cockpit pressed a button, and the cargo hauler was engulfed in flames for a second, and the whole ship exploded in a blazing stream that shot out every direction. The fighter than jumped into to Hyperspace, and it was gone.

Looking forward to it.

Looks like the Imperials are closing up fast, which is good because we need more Rebels.

I'll begin work on the IC soon if this interest level keeps up. Roster has been updated with new characters.

In what year does Operation Blackout take place?
The name's James. James Usari. Well, my name is not actually James Usari, so don't bother actually looking it up, but it'll do for now.

I was asking, because it's important for my character to have a traumatic, near-death event. Either the Battle of Yavin or Operation Domino will suffice, but I'll need to know which one.

I'd go with the Battle of Yavin, and the Rebel leadership is still also looking for a new base at the same time since they are still meeting on Yavin 4 (but the Empire hasn't gotten around to invading yet, too focused on searching for the now-missing Vader).

It's like the Inquisitorius are Oceania: brainwashing victims until their sense of identity or self conforms to the Inquisitorius' needs and desires, which makes them an excellent tool for the Empire.

WIP app.

REBEL CHARACTER APP - OPERATION BLACKOUT:

Name: Lessarii Kirrei

Age: Thirty-five

Sex: Female

Appearance:
Image

Personality: Kirrei's personality is best described as "focused mischief". She has a well-developed sense of humour which she uses at any and all opportunities. This ranges from pranks when off-duty to her naming her weapons "Hook", "Line" and "Sinker" for no reason other than to give her an excuse to use the phrase. When on a mission, however, she directs that boundless creativity towards her team's ends. She has managed to use the same mindset which has caused her to mag-lock her commanding officer's droid to the floor to feedback-tractor an Imperial-class to a barracks. Which is more-or-less the only reason anyone else puts up with her.

Rank: Sergeant

Skills: While she is a decent fighter, and a superb pilot, Kirrei's main skills are found in the technical areas. She is capable of jury-rigging almost any device in existence and has the technical knowledge to understand and disassemble anything she can't build. She can slice into systems which aren't overly-protected and, with the right access, can make her way around hardwired restrictions with ease. The real killer, however, lies in her constant amalgamation of all of these to reach almost any desired end. From the heavy customisation on every ship she has so much as touched to the dozens of backdoors wormed into countless Imperial systems she's had the time to covertly slice, Kirrei's subtle fingerprints follow her wherever she goes.

Equipment: A pair of ascension guns ("Hook" and "Line") and a Heavy Tracker-16 ("Sinker") form her primary armament, alongside a plethora of grenades, fixed charges and vibroknives. Her working equipment, however, dwarfs this, including hydrospanners, datapads, engine tape, hundreds of metres of conducting wire, data-probes and a seemingly endless supply of more and more esoteric tools. Finally is her prize and joy: the Infallible. A heavily modified Lambda-class shuttle, the ship has dozens of adjustments, tweaks and modifications, all of which would make it a nightmare for anyone who didn't know exactly what every bolt and rivet do to maintain.

Biography: Kirrei was born onto Pho Ph'eah, to middle-class parents who never had the time to spare for her. Growing up with the other children, her mischievous streak was apparent at an early age. She was always the child who would prank others, but before long she was graduating from the tried-and-tested to ever more elaborate and creative traps and tricks which had her fellow classmates in hysterics and her teachers bemused and more than a little irritated. Despite - or perhaps because of - this streak, she managed to keep her grades up throughout her school life, never slipping worryingly far behind despite her more carefree attitude.

The Clone Wars began when Kirrei was still a little girl, but they never really touched Pho Ph'eah. It was safely in the pocket of the Confederacy from day one and the front lines never advanced sufficiently far back that the inhabitants were forced to endure the harsh realities of the war themselves. They made the weapons, they provided the funds but they never had to face the consequences themselves, and as such they developed their own bubble of tranquillity which rejected the tales coming from the refugees trickling in from the front.

That changed when the Empire came. Within a month Pho Ph'eah was subjugated. Given her relatively high percentage of nonhumans in the population, it was a planet to be made an example of, where the New Order would crack down hardest to demonstrate what the new galactic paradigm meant. Overnight, hundreds of thousands became slaves. Kirrei was one of those who became a slave and she would toil for years in the newly-established foundries, producing yet more fuel for the Imperial war machine. And yet, already, she was beginning to foster discontent. Sabotaging what she could under the watchful eyes of the inspectors, she began her personal rebellion, waiting until she could do more than merely sabotage.

Her chance came when a rebel cell infiltrated the foundry and armed the slaves, letting them rise up against their masters. At first all went well, the slaves running riot before locking the facility down and arming themselves with the weaponry they themselves had made. However, it wasn't long before the Empire replied in force. Fire rained from the skies, Star Destroyers blotting out the sun as they spat walls of emerald fire down upon the malcontents below. Within an hour, the rebellion was over.

Kirrei survived by pure chance. In one of the sublevel armories when the bombardment began, she was buried under the wreckage of the foundry she had working in for so long. Managing to scrape together supplies, from what was around her, she collected water, repaired what she could and slowly began to excavate her way back to the surface. It took her three months, detouring into other sections to scavenge more and more, before she finally managed to reach the surface. Half-starved and exhausted, she collapsed to the ground at the feet of a Quartermaster who was less-than-amused at her arriving in the middle of his Depot.

Nursed back to health, Kirrei eventually regained consciousness and had her situation explained to her. She'd arrived in the middle of a rebel cell's base of operations: that made her a liability. For now, they explained, she was going to have to stay with them in order to make sure that she didn't reveal their location to the Empire. And, as she regained her health, she began to help out around the encampment. At first it was a little here, a little there, but soon it evolved into more and more, until she was helping them with the planning and execution of raids, thefts and assassinations.

When her cell became incorporated into the larger rebellion, Kirrei began to strike out into the galaxy at large. As her assignments became larger and more important, she began to exhibit more and more of her natural creativity in getting them done. The highlight of her career came when she crashed an Imperial-class Star Destroyer into an Ubiqtorate garrison on Tangrene, stealing a Lambda-class shuttle on her way out and using it as her escape vehicle.

And now, with the most critical mission she has ever operated in looming, Kirrei is going to have to push all of the limits in order to succeed...

So...apparently I'm a decent writer. Um...wait, what?
Relativity, nukes in space, nukes in atmosphere, LASERs, MASERs, kinetic weapons, missile and kinetic CIWS, impactors and centripital force.

And, of course, for anything at all, you can always go here.

REBEL CHARACTER APP - OPERATION BLACKOUT:

Name: Lessarii Kirrei

Age: Thirty-five

Sex: Female

Appearance:

Rank: Corporal

Really like this, but Corporal isn't a rank on the list so I'll put you as the Rebel Sergeant.
