Quick heads up: apps are fine and approved. Might recommend some tweaks later this week. I haven't had a chance to transfer character data to the archive yet but, once I do, the tab section will take players directly to that. They'll see the strengths but not the weaknesses, faults, fears, etc.

We'll most likely jump back to Galli tomorrow evening, depending upon my schedule.

@Gio. I'll have a reply for Rache done by then as well. Thanks for tolerating the delay, all. Been a hectic week so far.

    Strengths: Summons a monstrous humanoid creature slightly as dangerous as a Silverback Gorilla with the ability to teleport. The creature must perform one command before being teleported back to where it came from.
    Weaknesses: The spell requires a dagger made from any pure metal such as copper or iron. Alloys such as brass will not work. Requires an hour or so of chanting and meditation to cast.
    Restrictions: Luxan Magic is naturally corrosive to human sanity, soul and body which it uses as fuel. As such the user must either suffer a minor insanity, physical decay, or spiritual harm in order to use. Shambler can be dispelled with counter-spells, destroying 50% of its body or after 12 hours have past. Shambler is weaker and easily confused while in sunlight.

MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS

  • Elder Thing Crystals: A large sack of bead sized crystals that can absorb a human's worth of spiritual and psychic residue. They act as batteries for magical or electronic devices allowing spells and machines to be powered off excess soul remnants.
  • The DEiMOS: This device is a living thought that Luxans have created to allow them to travel between dimensions. It acts as the Luxans apartment and contains their rooms, libraries, labs and other quarters. Some of it’s features were broken or destroyed by the shift to Galli*.
    *The exact working features can be changed using this excuse to suit the plot or OP needs. Not sure if teleporting is allowed or if previous actions make it acceptable.
  • Labs: The DEiMOS is filled with magical laboratories and devices which the Baron has bought and acquired during his travels. These labs allow him to commit acts of impressive transmogrification and alchemy. They also provide him with the perfect tools to research new and exotic universes that the DEiMOS travels too.
  • Libraries: A mixture of digital and physical knowledge the Luxan libraries exist within the DEiMOS and contain thousands of arcane scrolls and books. These books have large amounts of knowledge on numerous magical and scientific topics. They greatly aid in spell casting, research, scientific designing and problem solving.
  • Electric Gun: A weapon from distant Yuggoth this irregular lump of metal and wires fires large bolts of electricity. It is almost entirely technological with some minor trace amounts of magic. It requires fungus, mold or mycological masses as fuel. The blasts are incredibly strong generating heat in excess of a lightning strike, may cause muscle spasms in humans susceptible to them. The weapon has a range of 100 meters, after that the single bolt breaks into smaller less damaging bolts for 50 meters.

EQUIPMENT
This is what your character has on their person at the very moment when they are pulled from their home dimension. Laptop? Firearm? Cigarettes and matches? Don't abuse this. They won't be clutching an entire bunker.

BACKGROUND

Education or Training:

Character Background/Biography: Primordial is a typical Luxan who comes from a world where witchcraft and sorcery go hand in hand with science and engineering. A world with deviant morals that raises children to believe in an uncaring world and deal with their mental problems through torture. It’s people so nulled to basic joy’s and passions that their sensory organs randomly interpret pain and please, while they commit acts of random surgery to achieve perfect aesthetic standards. It’s a world that worships the fundamental underlying universal forces as gods and monster known as Great Old Ones and Outer Gods.

Primordial grew up as the son of middle class family and watched and his family grew in prestige becoming Barons in their own right. His father served as an important businessman and leader of his hometown, and it was his prevention of a financial crisis that earned his family it’s title. Primordial always looked up to his father and strove to be like him hoping to make sure that their family title wouldn't be tarnished or left as a mere prefix.

He attended both Lavi University and Miskatonic University in order to gain a number of degrees which helped him become an inner circle scientist at RADICAL. The Research And Development In Cosmic Assets Laboratory is a Luxan Defense program designed to create military weapons and public tools. He worked very closely on the DEiMOS project along with several other scientists and was awarded the title of Baron for being on the team to successful create the first DEiMOS on purpose. Following this award he was given a scholary grant by the Silver Twilight Lodge to research other dimensions. The Silver Twilight Lodge represents a unique religious club of Luxa’s most privileged elite and Primordial knew that that reward for his exploration would be membership with them and cementing his families title.

Hiring his good friends Insidious, a famous artist, and Aegis, a lauded soldier, he set out to explore the fringes of the universe. Up until this point Luxa had only been able to maintain real contact with other universes were another version of Luxa existed or where the Great Old Ones held control. With the DEiMOS they can break into other universes. Primordial and his team spent ten years travelling to different universes, finding their wisest planets and libraries then ransacking them of knowledge to send back to the homeland.

With just five years left on his mission the Baron arrived on a planet he called “Dabfia’s World”. There he met with the other members of the Apartment Block. At first he tried to raid and pillage the world knowledge as best he could, but he quickly found him embroiled in the schemes of the residents. He made fast friends with a group of sentient raptors, recorded the exploits of an entire pantheon of gods and fight off drone invasions. Eventually the Baron forgot the reason he was here in the first place.

Then the Yellow Event happened and Primordial was killed in the cross fire of a minor god war as the Unspeakable Ones boundary collided with Dabfia’s world for a single moment at a single location. While Primordial’s body was dead, his long time in the DEiMOS had left an imprint of his consciousness their were he slowly reconstructed a body. The process severely damaged the DEiMOS and trapped Insidious and Aegis inside as well. Only the actions of the people they had come to rob, subjugate and attack freed them. It was then that the Baron had revelation and resolved to work with the other residents rather than in spite of them. However no long after he had resolved to acquire his knowledge through more peaceful means was he spirited away to GALLIMAUFRY where he needs to find a way to fix his DEiMOS, help his friends, and find some enemies he can horribly maim like the good old days.

OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
Primary Objectives are what drive's your character's actions and their part of the plot. When not engaged in stories, these are what occupy your character's thoughts or keep them busy. Examples include: acting on a desire to become a powerful and respected leader; attempting to overcome some horrible thing in the past which hinders the character on a day-to-day basis; seeking to break out their shell by overcoming profound shyness (getting involved with stories); comping to terms with a major flaw that inhibits the character from reaching full potential; etc.

Minor Goals. These should be an undercurrent for your character when they are engaged in stories or on their free time. They are what your character does to aid them in achieving their Primary Objectives. Examples include: acquiring weapons and becoming proficient with each one; improving sundered relations with a companion; improving their reading comprehension; mastering news spells; researching a cure for a plague; etc.

Objectives such as "making friends" or "finding love" are NOT acceptable. Please put much though into your character's objectives - they are what flesh out your character and one of the most important aspects necessary to portray the character as 3D.

Character Background/Biography: Good lord, where does Devine even begin? Postpoc wasn't exactly your getaway resort planet, just the opposite, it was that shithole where even criminals avoided at all costs. How Devine survived is a combination of intelligence, wit, and exquisite taste. That's right, precious, Devine managed in this backward dustball for a good while til some Vagabonds had to turn things up and make his life all that more complicated. Oh wait, that was Archaeologists' Association. Whatever, semantics. What does matter is that these bitches needed a babysitter and Devine was it. One job went awry and we got our asses planted on Galli and from there, we... screw it honey, if you wanna know more then ask me. Devine ain't got time for 20 questions and a fucking pop-quiz!

Appearance: Flan is a fine young woman, standing at just under five and a half feet, very frail, with pale skin and dark brown hair, which falls to her neck in a short cut. She has soft, golden eyes, noticeably misted over and unconcentrated, giving a mysterious aura to her. Her eyes are accented with full lashes and sharp brows, while a noticeable, long scar runs from the side of her forehead, past her eye, and down to her cheek. She has a large nose, and a sharp face to top. Her body is frail, thin even beneath her robes, which are made with an arable-yet-warm, soft material.

Character's biggest strength: Flannery is responsible, not necessarily thorough or mature (not to say she isn't), but she is responsible, and tries to do what is asked of her to the best of her abilities.


Character's worst flaw: She can be a tad blunt and tactless for one, and although it doesn't bar her from being capable of speaking with care, she simply finds being straightforward to be best. It plays with her taking responsibility, although on the other hand, it doesn't exactly help her.

    Weaknesses: Effect is not very great, giving only a slight (but noticeable) boost. Effectiveness may also be dependent on the recipient. A weaker person may notice the effect, while a stronger person may not. Furthermore, buffs may only work on organic beings.
    Restrictions: Is mentally and physically taxing on Flan, and may only be applied through close contact.

  • Ability 3: Dorhy’s Gnawing
    Power Level: 2
    Strengths: A miracle of the deep, also known as a “Dark Miracle”, casts forth a swarm of carnivorous insects which tear the flesh and cause immediate heavy bleeding.
    Restrictions: The swarm moves as if cast like any other magic, forward, though arching in the direction of its target slightly as it moves. After a certain distance, or upon hitting a surface, the insects tear into their target before dissipating. With Flan being blind, she must rely on hearing to aim.

Character Background/Biography: The Way of the White had once been a pious group, dedicated to following the Gods and doing their bidding, yet had become corrupted with the rise of a great cleric. Aldrich the Man-Eater had grown to great power through might, and his following within the order had become fanatical. They were corrupted by The Deep, the dark depths of the world in which they had sealed off great evil and watched over forever. It was a peaceful place, but dark nonetheless, and as Aldrich came to rival the Gods, his followers looked to The Deep, and lifted from its influence new, dark miracles and magics.

Sister Flannery had owed her life to The Way of The White. Left blind and sickly since childhood, she had nobody to look to until she took up religion, and The Way had given her much. She was pious, and did the Gods' bidding, and yet she felt such a great connection to her order, that she was left with a great moral conflict in the growing heretical movement. She had seen Aldrich, the great Cleric, and she admired him. She had admired the way he rejuvenated The Way, and yet she had also clung to The Gods even as her leader became a god himself. Between break-aways pressuring her to remain pious, and Aldrich Faithfuls who wanted her to abandon her outdated Gods, she felt as though she were dancing a thin line, with danger on either side. Maybe, she thought, she would disappear. Just maybe…

Character's biggest strength: Montressor is inquisitive, and tries to be patient. He understands that there are things that mere men are not capable of dealing with, at least without the right means, and he likes to know the history and deal with anything he deals with.

Primary Objective: To learn...to put it very bluntly. The existence of Great Ones and other plains of existence is not unknown to the Healing Church of Yharnam, Montressor's home. Nightmares and Dreams are just as real as the Earth, and it is theorized that an infinite number of realms exist. Few men have seen such things, however, Montressor being among those few, and not because he held some great knowledge or ideas on them. His knowledge came from many near-death experiences and a brush with insanity, which inspired him to pursue knowledge further. His objective, simply put, is to study his surroundings and gain knowledge, either through investigation or by chasing danger for answers.

Minor Goals: To pursue the path of ascendance to a higher existence - whether it be in godhood or immortality. In his day, many sought immortality through the blood of beasts, and in invoking Old Gods to draw them into nightmarish realms of existence in which they would hunt and wallow in blood for all eternity; others sought to become gods, by studying and communicating in the tongue of the Old Ones, and attempting to transcend Human existence. He does not necessarily want to shed his Human form, but to know the true way to evolve Humanity and to take that knowledge with him. It's something of a drive for him to know what he can.

    Power Level: 4
    Strengths: A hunter's weapons and tools are infused with their blood. Guns and arrows fire quicksilver projectiles, infused and created with blood, and their blades are made deadlier as they are fed blood. Blood is what makes a Hunter's world go 'round, and whether cautious or completely blood-addled, a Hunter owes their strength to their blood. If blood is low, a Hunter may even consume and infuse the blood of fallen foes for their work.
    Weaknesses: Drawing too much blood slowly hurts the Hunter, and therefor the Hunter must attack even more viciously and violently in order to draw more blood to use and stay alive.
    Restrictions: Blood infusion is restricted to the Hunter and their weapons and tools, which are made specifically for Hunters to wield.

  • Ability 2: Insight
    Power Level: 3
    Strengths: Those with vast insight can see Eldritch truths and comprehend the knowledge of The Great Old Ones. With enough insight, one who would be driven mad by such ghastly sights could see them for what they were, and face them head on.
    Weaknesses: The more wisdom one gains, the more they see; such a gift is also a curse, and often drives one to insanity if left unchecked.

Education or Training: Service to the Healing Church of Yharnam, Foreign service as a Hunter.

Character Background/Biography: Johnathan Montressor was a Yharnam native; Yharnam was a labyrinthine city, once built on blood; literally, the city was built on blood, specifically the blood of the Church. Yharnam was the home of Blood Ministration, and healing blood was known to quickly mend wounds and cure disease. Yharnamites were crazy for blood, so much so that Blood-based drinks were more common than alcohol. For as blood-addled as people were, however, they knew that the miracle substance was not as wondrous as it would seem at first.

The blood was known to drive those who lusted for it mad. It was from the blood that the plague of the best came, affecting those who became too lustful of it, and the plague nearly destroyed the city several times. It was from these plagues that The Hunt began, and that Hunters were created to dispatch of the beasts. It was in the midst of these hunts that a young boy, hiding in the safety of his home in central Yharnam, witnessed the work of the Hunters done from an attic window, and was stricken with such curiosity that he would one day be driven to become a hunter of beasts himself.

He started small; as a townsman, recruited out of necessity, and took to the hunt with mild success. His career, however, eventually led him from his home city and out to explore the world, where he took to the hunt in other towns and lands, and learned through trial and error as he slaughtered beasts and protected the innocent.

Hunting beasts was not his only expertise, however. The Church came about from a split in the pursuit of finding Humanity's next evolutionary step, and in both the religious and academic circles, the knowledge of Greater Beings was well known. Some, like the Church, pursued the use of Blood of the Old Ones, hoping to ascend by consuming it - the side-effect being the plague of the beast. The old faithful scholars who did not commit to that path, however, sought to understand the language of the Old Ones, and to line their brains with runes and converse with the Eldritch beings in order to transcend - the dangers coming in insanity and the knowledge of nightmare realms.

Montressor had recalled his first encounter; the sight of the Amygdala, lesser Great One, and the truth behind the research of scholars and the church. Hunters were the branch of the Church tasked with protecting the people and the secrets of the Great Ones, though Johnathan was interested in more than hunting, as thrilling as it was. He knew that to commune with a Great One was to speak to a god, and to live on the edge of insanity, and it was known that those who wished hard enough, would find themselves inevitably drawn to a nightmare, a realm of existence formed by those Great Ones and entered as much physically as mentally.

He was determined to study this phenomenon. Just where would he end up if he entered another realm?

Again, any thoughts? I do want to play Wellington, and Katya is an oldie, but I think letting those two wait a bit and playing the two I worked on for a while and already have set up would work better.     Strengths: The caster can manipulate unseen forces to produce telekinetic effects such as moving, crushing, or manipulating objects.
    Weaknesses: Spell doesn’t affect things sacred to Yog-Sothoth.
    Restrictions: Luxan Magic is naturally corrosive to human sanity, soul and body which it uses as fuel. As such the user must either suffer a minor insanity, physical decay, or spiritual harm in order to use.

  • Ability 2: Summon Shambler
    Power Level: 3
    Strengths: Summons a monstrous humanoid creature slightly as dangerous as a Silverback Gorilla with the ability to teleport. The creature must perform one command before being teleported back to where it came from.
    Weaknesses: The spell requires a dagger made from any pure metal such as copper or iron. Alloys such as brass will not work. Requires an hour or so of chanting and meditation to cast.
    Restrictions: Luxan Magic is naturally corrosive to human sanity, soul and body which it uses as fuel. As such the user must either suffer a minor insanity, physical decay, or spiritual harm in order to use. Shambler can be dispelled with counter-spells, destroying 50% of its body or after 12 hours have past. Shambler is weaker and easily confused while in sunlight.

MAGICAL OR SPECIAL ITEMS
If it's not on this list, your character doesn't have it. Magical items are rare and hard to come by. Please list what they can/can't do - treat them like a supernatural thing. Items not allowed: anything that can alter time; anything that allows a character to teleport beyond a few feet.

List:
  • Elder Thing Crystals: A large sack of bead sized crystals that can absorb a human's worth of spiritual and psychic residue. They act as batteries for magical or electronic devices allowing spells and machines to be powered off excess soul remnants.
  • The DEiMOS: This device is a living thought that Luxans have created to allow them to travel between dimensions. It acts as the Luxans apartment and contains their rooms, libraries, labs and other quarters. Some of it’s features were broken or destroyed by the shift to Galli*.
    *The exact working features can be changed using this excuse to suit the plot or OP needs. Not sure if teleporting is allowed or if previous actions make it acceptable.
  • Labs: The DEiMOS is filled with magical laboratories and devices which the Baron has bought and acquired during his travels. These labs allow him to commit acts of impressive transmogrification and alchemy. They also provide him with the perfect tools to research new and exotic universes that the DEiMOS travels too.
  • Libraries: A mixture of digital and physical knowledge the Luxan libraries exist within the DEiMOS and contain thousands of arcane scrolls and books. These books have large amounts of knowledge on numerous magical and scientific topics. They greatly aid in spell casting, research, scientific designing and problem solving.
  • Electric Gun: A weapon from distant Yuggoth this irregular lump of metal and wires fires large bolts of electricity. It is almost entirely technological with some minor trace amounts of magic. It requires fungus, mold or mycological masses as fuel. The blasts are incredibly strong generating heat in excess of a lightning strike, may cause muscle spasms in humans susceptible to them. The weapon has a range of 100 meters, after that the single bolt breaks into smaller less damaging bolts for 50 meters.

EQUIPMENT
This is what your character has on their person at the very moment when they are pulled from their home dimension. Laptop? Firearm? Cigarettes and matches? Don't abuse this. They won't be clutching an entire bunker.

BACKGROUND
Be detailed please. You must explain how your character acquired their skills, talents, abilities, and special items. Wrap your primary objectives and goals into it.

Education or Training:

Character Background/Biography: Primordial is a typical Luxan who comes from a world where witchcraft and sorcery go hand in hand with science and engineering. A world with deviant morals that raises children to believe in an uncaring world and deal with their mental problems through torture. It’s people so nulled to basic joy’s and passions that their sensory organs randomly interpret pain and please, while they commit acts of random surgery to achieve perfect aesthetic standards. It’s a world that worships the fundamental underlying universal forces as gods and monster known as Great Old Ones and Outer Gods.

Primordial grew up as the son of middle class family and watched and his family grew in prestige becoming Barons in their own right. His father served as an important businessman and leader of his hometown, and it was his prevention of a financial crisis that earned his family it’s title. Primordial always looked up to his father and strove to be like him hoping to make sure that their family title wouldn't be tarnished or left as a mere prefix.

He attended both Lavi University and Miskatonic University in order to gain a number of degrees which helped him become an inner circle scientist at RADICAL. The Research And Development In Cosmic Assets Laboratory is a Luxan Defense program designed to create military weapons and public tools. He worked very closely on the DEiMOS project along with several other scientists and was awarded the title of Baron for being on the team to successful create the first DEiMOS on purpose. Following this award he was given a scholary grant by the Silver Twilight Lodge to research other dimensions. The Silver Twilight Lodge represents a unique religious club of Luxa’s most privileged elite and Primordial knew that that reward for his exploration would be membership with them and cementing his families title.

Hiring his good friends Insidious, a famous artist, and Aegis, a lauded soldier, he set out to explore the fringes of the universe. Up until this point Luxa had only been able to maintain real contact with other universes were another version of Luxa existed or where the Great Old Ones held control. With the DEiMOS they can break into other universes. Primordial and his team spent ten years travelling to different universes, finding their wisest planets and libraries then ransacking them of knowledge to send back to the homeland.

With just five years left on his mission the Baron arrived on a planet he called “Dabfia’s World”. There he met with the other members of the Apartment Block. At first he tried to raid and pillage the world knowledge as best he could, but he quickly found him embroiled in the schemes of the residents. He made fast friends with a group of sentient raptors, recorded the exploits of an entire pantheon of gods and fight off drone invasions. Eventually the Baron forgot the reason he was here in the first place.

Then the Yellow Event happened and Primordial was killed in the cross fire of a minor god war as the Unspeakable Ones boundary collided with Dabfia’s world for a single moment at a single location. While Primordial’s body was dead, his long time in the DEiMOS had left an imprint of his consciousness their were he slowly reconstructed a body. The process severely damaged the DEiMOS and trapped Insidious and Aegis inside as well. Only the actions of the people they had come to rob, subjugate and attack freed them. It was then that the Baron had revelation and resolved to work with the other residents rather than in spite of them. However no long after he had resolved to acquire his knowledge through more peaceful means was he spirited away to GALLIMAUFRY where he needs to find a way to fix his DEiMOS, help his friends, and find some enemies he can horribly maim like the good old days.

Added the two powers he's probably going to learn at level 0.
Reworded some powers to fit the new style.
Broke up the DEiMOS into sections as Magical Artifacts.
Altered backstory to be more complete and fit better with the story.

I imagine the artifacts will need some adjusting but just let me know.

I've been working a lot of reimagine and better explain Primordials background and history since he's been pretty enigmatic in the past and I wanted to really narrow down what he's about.

Would drawing extremely complicated runes to channel magic as a substitute for actually using it myself be under skill, or magic?

It depends. At first blush, I'd say the craft (drawing them) is the skill. The product (what each resulting rune does) is the magic.

Agy and Swith, I'd like to move us on. We can wrap here and your characters can corral Marcus once we return to the building. Or we can continue if others have a few things to sort still. My schedule means I won't be available tomorrow and most of Friday so I can do with not skipping until Friday night.

Moving on sounds good, the whole scene with Marcus and parents doesn't really need us to be on the Island.
