WC76 Qualifiers Report- Looking into the 2nd Half
After a tremendous effort by the Qad team the other night, the Vans were sadly defeated against group leaders, Eshan, 4-2. With the heartbreaker, TQ ended their first half run of the qualifiers with 3 wins and 3 losses, landing them in fourth place.

Defeats to Schottia, Turori and Eshan made the Blue-Reds winless in away games, a terrifying sight going into our next match in New Gazi. Despite this fact, however, the Vans redeemed themselves with an undefeated record at home (excluding Islana friendly), with wins over New Gazi, Mazurska and Dumnoniia. In this report, we will predict our chances against the group mates in the second encounters, with hope that Qasden will perform much better away.
First up, a match in Cannoneer-territory as the Blue-Reds will be looking to hold their stance against New Gazi and take both games in their series. Back at New Qad Field in Qasden, the Vans upset the Cannoneers 2-1 in game 1, earning a positive look for the new guys. 6 match days later, the two countries have never been any closer, with the Cannoneers just 2 points behind the Vans. This game will be a test of Qasden's willpower and determination to stay in the game. A win or draw means points on the board. A loss, however, might cut the Qads chances short of reaching the playoffs. Our prediction: a narrow win, if not draw, against New Gazi. It really comes down to how Merritt coaches.
After such an intense match in New Gazi, TQ will have another obstacle to tackle when they return home.......Schottia. Last time we played in Handon, we believed we may have a shot (as Schottia had previously lost to Turori). Like everything else, that game didn't go well and the Chottians got the pride of a home victory. They currently sit a full 3 points ahead of Qasden, making the deficit a hard feat to climb to 3rd, and a B-R win is absolutely vital towards success. Anything less is worthless, and a loss would indefinitely make Qasden one of the fallen. Our prediction: a loss wouldn't be uncommon, but a draw seems likely.
Mazurska....the country almost completely unknown to many. After they initially defeated Turori, the Qads were scared to think 2 consecutive losses. However, when the game went on in Merellin Park, the Vans seemed strong and actually deveined the Mazurskan squad. Sitting in last place, tied with Dumnoniia, the unknowns look to redeem themselves against our squad on their turf, which will be unfamiliar to many teammates. Our prediction: a Qad win seems likely, but this tournament is all about surprises.
After a narrow defeat to the Eels previously, the Vans return to play Turori in their first and only qualifier match at the Royal T.V. Stadium. With 13 points and 4 wins strong, the Eels have been a dominant power in Group 5, sitting currently in 2nd. The Cup of Harmony winners took prides in themselves after an intense 2-1 (I think) win over the B-Rs. Oh boy, do they have a special greeting when they come here. In a stadium with at least 85-90 thousand seats, full of ecstatic fans, Turori will have a tougher time defeating Qasden. Our prediction: Turori may win, yes, but a draw or Qad win is also likely.
Like Mazurska, Dumnoniia seemed threatening when we first faced them in Fyre. That soon changed, however, as we squeezed in a 1-0 win over them previously. Sitting in sixth now, the fellow WC debutants will be hosting the second clash with Qasden. Xandreas, Darsten, Foster, Onyx, all of them have begun training to stay as hype as possible against this low-key adversary full of surprises. Our prediction: 3 points to Qasden. A draw might happen....might.....
Lastly for our 1st World Cup Qualifier campaign is the current group leaders, Eshan, at the Stade de Solis in Fyre. The Echani team had played strong, suffering only a single loss to Turori while destroying Qasden 4-2 the other night in Eshan. "Those hand-loving weirdos aren't going anywhere," some random hobo we found by our office said, "they'll be falling out soon and Qasden will be there to pick at its carcass.". Despite the hobo's words of wisdom, Eshan seems to be too far gone for Qasden to pass, but that just makes it all the more achievable. Strategies and skills will be heavily needed, and if we aren't eliminated beforehand, then this is the most important match Qasden will have during the entire qualifier campaign. Our prediction: Eshan's strength in Group 5 may give them a win already, but Qasden could be able to surprise them.
Well, that's all for this report. Can the Vans finish the second half of qualifiers strongly? Or will Group 5 throw TQ off course into a route of defeat. Only one way to find out, so stay leggo, stay eggo, and stay waffles for our next report, live from the World Cup Qualifiers to be next in New Gazi!
