Not sure if serious.
But, since when is being a terrorist and threatening law enforcement part of 'fighting for liberty'?

Largely, how they were truly shafted in the way Bundy claims the ranchers are, and have gotten practically nowhere in handling it - their only compensation has been the cost of the land granted to them in the initial reservation that was then taken back by the federal government, as assessed in the 1800's, with no adjustment. It's a really interesting read, and a new perspective, that I highly recommend you check out.

I fucking love Bundy's comments regarding the Native Americans."There are things to learn from cultures of the past, but the current culture is the most important."
It basically amounts to "I deserve this land more than you."
Seangoli wrote:Interestingly, there is precedent for rectifying these sort of one-sided settlements. The Sioux sued the US government for the reason that they were not paid the fair value of the Black Hills region in South Dakota. They actually did win that one, and were awarded the original value with 100 years worth of interest at 5%. Paying them fair-value from the 1800's was deemed laughably inappropriate, as is the case with the Paiute. The supreme court has already decided in other similar cases that this sort of payment is not just. I think that right now the US government is holding close to $1 billion in a trust due to the Sioux refusing to accept the money (They want the Black HIlls more than the money).

I got the implication they, for whatever reason, didn't find the HQ secure. They've made their own camp...somewhere else? Now and then they refrence going back to the HQ for supplies and things, that's where they picked up the Bible.
