Spindle wrote:Lady Lovelace's face split into an evil grin as her gaze returned to Euphemia, her eyes blazing with glee.

"And you, Euphy, want to get Lyson a job, is that it?" She smiled sweetly. Euphemia cringed internally at the tone of her words. There was an edge there that she couldn't just ignore.

"That's right, Ada. And as per your job, you're going to find him one, aren't you?" She smiled equally sweetly, "One that his skills make him suited to, am I right?"

Their eyes locked for a moment and if looks could kill, both of them would have been sprawled on the floor. Eventually Lovelace nodded her head once, curtly.

"Of course." She said behind a toothy smile, "And what, Lyson, would you say your skills are?" The vulture's gaze swung back to Lyson.

The Imperator's Might
Capital Dreadnought of All Remnant Fleets
The Taari Armada / Remnant

Lyson did not falter underneath the woman's gaze. Instead, he simply stared at her for a moment. He pondered... well, considering he'd only ever had a job on the Admiralty, he was exceptional at lawmaking, and judicial duties as that was what Admirals did. They also had their military ranking to take care of on top of that, so he was an exceptional strategist and military leader.

"Considering I was once of the Admiralty, my skills would be in lawmaking, judicial duties, law enforcement, military leadership and strategization.", he listed them off semi-robotically. Lyson wondered what job this Lovelace would get for him. Considering his experience in those somewhat restrictive fields, she'd probably have to end up giving him a job to do with government - Spindle's or his own. Which, the Imperator would not like. Lyson wasn't one to hold a grudge, usually, but he almost smiled at that. It felt almost like revenge for removing him from the Admiralty.

The O.C.V. Paretek turned on its forward external lights and pointed them towards the unknown craft. The O.C.V. Paretek was about 150 meters in length, 67 meters in height and 60 meters in width. It's dull blue paint was revealed when the lights were turned on.

"This is the Ostian Civilian Vessel Paretek, is anyone there over?" The vessel communicated in low Ostian (english) to the unknown craft. The Paretek had a relatively cramped bridge; It had room for five chairs, a driver, a communications officer, a sensors operator, a weapons officer and the commanding officer. The crew of the Paretek were on salvage mission. Due to the dangerous nature of the Maw, many ships are lost in the nebula which makes it profitable for salvage operations. While some ships are Ostian in origin, others are xenos.

The communications officer repeated, "This is the Ostian Civilian Vessel Paretek, is anyone there over?"

The ship dwarfed the small Kandalla-Class Corvette, much like many other Federation ships. Even the Todval Class-Capital Ship was half the size of other Capital Ship Classes of other species. Vorcha covered his eyes as the Paretek's lights shined through viewport of the "Archus".

"Can you tell them to turn off their lights? I'm almost blind here." Circi rolled her eyes.

"What part of our systems are down do you not understand? Just have some patience. I've almost got it. There." One of the consoles began to light up again.

"It will be a little static and judging by the appearance of their ship, I doubt they're as advance as the Taari are, probably even us. They'll probably won't have the right translation software." Circi opened up a panel and adjusted settings to make sure the message went through.

"Sagalam...... Archus.... Tagali Tedari...... Tedari Fantellinge Sociti....... Tedari Tagali........Trogala Jaka yo kuum..... Ass Kacha ta jicka."

Of course, we could establish a quarantine zone around the infected system, but that would just be delaying the inevitable and cost billions of lives. Another option is to go on the offensive, but that plan is equally idiotic. It only leaves us with one plan." Sagan took a breath before he continued.

"There is a story from the northern highlands of Jakala. I don't expect you to know it. It dates all the way back to the beginning of Tagali civilization. Before the founding of the Tagali Enclaves, when our people had to fight for our very survival in an unforgiving world. There was a species thats name is long forgotten. It used to prey on the tribes of Tagali. They would kill whole tribes, leaving no survivors. Eventually, the tribes banded together against the threat, but they knew that even together, they could not hunt them down to extinction. They soon found a more despicable solution. There was only one other animal that these beasts feasted on, the Northern Selgo. These tribesman began hunting the Selgo down, burning what they couldn't carry, leaving none for the beasts. As the herds of Selgo disappeared, so too did the tribesman. Retreating further south to wait out the death of the beasts. They came back a year later, and the dead beasts littered the north. Only those that resorted to cannibalism survived, but they were so few in number that the tribesmen were able to hunt them down as well."

"What are you getting at?" Talik said, hoping Sagan didn't mean what he thought he meant.

"What I mean, is that we learn from our ancestors. The High Breed rely on us throwing away lives to feed its thirst for blood. We simply deny it its food supply. We evacuate systems that are in the Highbreed's path. Once that is done, we glass the planets, leaving nothing for the High Breed to eat or use, thus starving them out." The members of the room looked on in horror at the plan.
Sagan, you're a mad man. May Kagan take pity on your soul." Talik said.

"You’re saying that we just let the Hivebreed spread and hope that it dies off of starvation"? This is not an animal and it can travel throughout the galaxy, even if we to glass every planet we can find". "There would still be a chance for the Hivebreed to find an unknown world with plenty of life and absorb it". "Plus, how long would it be taken for the Hivebreed to starve? “Weeks, months, years, centuries while it tracks down the survivors and after that the Hivebreed is gone". "How do we know for sure that it is gone and what about robotic troops? “Can’t those be used or even try and find more information about the ones who built the structure that contained the Hivebreed? "Even if we can't kill it, we can still trap it". "Or do you truly think that we can't beat the Hivebreed and we have to know that it is gone for sure and not just wait for another race to awaken it like before".

"Yes we are and I am Captain Dyr Von of the Vryr'yks Coalition." Then Dyr's wristguard pings and Dyr activities the holographic interface and a message is in text. "Hmm, it looks like my people have found another race that is willing to fight the Hivebreed and ask us to give us the coordinates for this system". "For before we brief them on the Hivebreed threat, they sent a ship to investigate the Hivebreed and are possibly close or in Ostian space. Dyr looks at Y'era,"Is that okay to send the coordinates to them and who do the other two xeno fleet's belong to?

"This is the Ostian Civilian Vessel Paretek, is anyone there over?" The communications officer repeated. The previous message was unreadable for the Ostians, they were confused is it was gibberish, a language or an automated message."This is the Ostian Civilian Vessel Paretek, is anyone there over?"

"Alert the pilots and work crew one to go on stand by. If the ship fails to respond in fifteen minutes, we'll begin salvage operations." The Captain ordered.

From the exterior of the vessel, one large hatch opened on the side. Out of it came three battlesuits, each painted black and orange. These battlesuits were older models and surplus from the Ostian military. After a few generations, the older generation is demilitarized and moved towards the civilian sector. A major difference in these battlesuits and the current models is that these were bulkier and had cockpit like control scheme until the neural interface one of the current models. The battlesuits were two Rehas and one Aura. The Rehas was in a slouched posture and had long claws extending from its arms. The Aura had two cannons at its arms instead of hands. A prominent difference is that both of these battlesuits had no head. From the other's point of view, it was clear that two of mechs were made for work while one of them was made for security.

"If the Inquisition trusts you, I guess I can give you our current information." Captain Y'era spoke tiredly. "The coordinates are on this tablet", Y'era handed him his tablet, "As for the other two fleets, we only know of one. The one with the larger ships is from the Aterrian Union. Some recently upstart who has advanced technology. As you can see, their military technology is very impressive, almost God-like. Their commander is in the command center of the starbase. As of the other, we are not sure yet." (To Therya)

The word Highbreed intimidated Admiral Baum. "Send them this message she ordered."

"While I would ask the obvious, how did you know of the Highbreed? It does not matter at this point. What I will tell you is that there is a threat in one of our systems and we do need allies. However the Ostian fleet here and in the outlying systems are on stand by. The other ships however are ready to head out soon. You can speak with them." (To Era)

Dyr take the datapad and sends the coordinates to the Legacy which sends it to command. "A fleet of 35 ships will be here in three days and I will be reassigned since my ship is an exploration vessel". "I will not be here to assist when they arrive and could I met with your government or at least, learn more about your people and your allies". "Since we will be fighting together and we are new to this region of space". "It would ease the minds of my government if I report back who your people are, since I only know you’re called the Ostian Imperium and not much else".

"I don't think they understood your message." Vorcha said. Circi closed out two more panels, causing two more consoles to light up.

"There we go, Commander. Engines and weaponry are back online. Also, from I can see, it seems those mechs aren't designed for combat. Their equipment seems more in line with mining or salvage operations."

"Well, they're not selling parts of the "Archus", not on my watch. Circi, fire off a shot from our weapons, but don't shoot to kill, only to scare them off." Circi pulled up the panel for the weapons system. She looked like she was deep in thought.

"Let's see, do I use the missile batteries or cut out the foreplay and use the MAC gun. Ah fuck it, main MAC gun it is." Circi pressed the targeting button, aiming for the carcass of a ship behind the Ostian mining vessel. The "Archus" began to turn to face the target. As soon as it was in position, a MAC round went flying towards the scrap, The round zoomed right past the Ostian battle suits, also barely missing the mining vessel. The round impacted with the floating scrap, tearing the dead ship in half. The round caused a small explosion with some missed material still on the ship. The explosion was quickly smothered by the cold dead grip of space. Circi sent off another message to the unknown mining vessel, now more audible for the crew to hear.

"Spaki! Spaki! To trongiin Tagali Tedari sposa camiino! Sta pov!" The shaking of the ship due to the recoil of the MAC gun alarmed the crew, causing them to check the bridge.

"What are you doing up here?" Sonus said. "I am currently in the middle of calibrations. A task already almost impossible due to the interference from the system!"

"Sorry, Good Doctor. It seems we're not alone in this system. They seem to just be scavengers. I had to fire off a round to tell them we're still here." Kalongi looked out towards the Battlesuits.

"They don't seem like much to me. Just primitive mecha armor."

"Don't worry, my Maug-Lai friend. They're probably just like your Maug-Lai mecha armor. Imposing to the average Foot Soldier, but nothing compared to a veteran Augment Soldier." Yandalle said, getting a growl out of Kalongi.

Fuerein System - Fuerein Fleet Starbase - Hanger

"You will have to speak to the Admiral regarding movement into the Imperium. As of now a state of war has been declared. Travel is severely restricted and you will need to know our protocols. Unless you want to be labeled as an hostile." Captain Y'era remarked sarcastically. "Head to the lift at the center of the hanger." He pointed towards the lift area. "Someone will be there to assist you and send you up to the command center."

The Maw - OCV Paretek
Reha - 2.44 meters in height
Aura - 4.10 meters in height

The alert went off in the bridge when the Archus fired the missile at the derelict ship behind the Paretek. "Alert status!" Yelled the Captain. Unintentionally on part of the Archus, one of the pieces of debris smashed into one of the Reha's. The collision temporarily disabled the magnetic locks on the feet of the Reha and detached it from its docking clamp. After a few seconds of floating, the Reha fired a grappling hook into the Paretek and reeled itself back onto the ship.

"Damn it! Don't damage my ship, Alec!" Yelled the Captain.

"It appears the ship is still active. I am registering power spikes all over." Reported the sensors operator.

"Last patrol pinged its location 2 kilometers from us about thirty minutes ago." The communications operator spoke nervously. "Perhaps we should-"

"Negative. Try to adjust our universal translator. Relay them my message."

The Ostian vessel relayed the following message: "We are in the process of fixing our transmitter. But should you turn out to be pirates, we will not hesitate to defend ourselves or contact the nearest naval patrol." The message was repeated in high Ostian: "Wir sind in den Prozess der Festlegung unserer Sender. Aber sollten Sie sich als Piraten zu sein, werden wir nicht zögern, uns zu verteidigen oder an das nächste Marine-Patrouille."

"Well, we're making a lovely first impression aren't we?" Circi said as they watched the mecha suit get smashed by a piece of debri and struggle to fire a grappling hook into their ship to keep himself from floating into the void. Soon after, the aliens began to communicate again. While it was still unintelligible to Circi and the rest of the crew, they could tell it was angrier than before.

"Well, it seems that I'm going to have to go over there." Circi said.

"You could have done that the whole time?" Vorcha said, flabbergasted.

"Well of course I can. Rather easily, in fact. The only problem would be the interference caused by the system. I will need to place my whole being on the ship, or vast amounts of me and my knowledge will be wiped out. But what other choice do we have?" Vorcha thought it over for a second.

"Alright, but be careful. You're still are ride home."

"Please, it was dicier dealing with the Taari." Circi said, closing off her hologram and breaking into the mining vessels systems. Once in, Circi began to implant herself in the systems of the Mining vessel. As she finished, another disturbance occurred, Circi yelled in pain, going through the speakers throughout the ship.

"Well, there goes the Northern Valonian Dialects. At least it was something that can be replaced, now time to get a translation going." Circi began scanning through thousands of files on board the ship, creating a code to translate Tagali into Ostian and vice versa. Once she was finished. she found a way into the systems of the Bridge's Hologram projector. Suddenly, she appeared on the bridge with little warning and speaking in a mix of low and high Ostian.

"Guten Morgen, I am Circi. The AI that's piloting that ship you're so interested in." Circi looked over to one of the men sitting over a computer.

"Oh yes. I believe it's only polite to tell you that to make a proper translation, I had to read some, well most of your files to create a translation guide that would suit my needs. Also, congratulations, young man. Your Wife sent you a message, you're going to be a father. She says the Doctor thinks they're twins."

Maug-Lai Armada

Warlady Yakana's forces continued their mining operation to uproot the High Breed. Breaking away layer after layer to reach their enemy. The Maug-Lai Armada waited in anticipation for the order to strike. Yakana watched a counter telling her the depth of her fleet's mining lasers. As soon as it reached the required depth, Yakana gave the order to cease fire. The last of the Highbreed infestation was now exposed, ready to be finished off. They seemed to appear to be forming something, melding their bodies together to create one last weapon of war. Yakana opened a communication channel with Salog's ship.

"Our lasers are finished, you may fire when ready." Salog grinned.

"Good, your tribes name shall travel down the history of the Maug-Lai who ushered in the death of this filth." Salog sent out an order to the rest of the fleet.

"All ships, begin firing! Cleanse this world of this filth!" The whole fleet began to fire into the mound of High Breed, killing millions of infectors and spores in one strike. Thousands tried to crawl out of the hole. Some made it to the surface, scattering in all directions, only to be taken out by the MAC guns of Rear-Admiral Tila's ships. It took 4 hours to glass the whole mound, the high breed would not go down easily. They fell eventually, not even them could withstand the blasts of ventral beams.

As the cannons of the Maug-Lai Armada silenced, Warlord Akono scanned the planet, as he saw the results, he was pleased.

"There are no signs of High Breed bio signatures. We've done it! This planet is cleansed!" The crew lit up in cheers at the news of their victory. Salog turned to Akono.

"We're not finished yet. Order Warlord Yakana's forces to brand this planet. Let all who enter this system know of the carnage caused here today!" Yakana's fleet began the Legolo-sa branding process. The ritual of marking a victim of a legolo-sa with the Maug-Lai glyph of death, showing all what happened there. This was the first time it had been attempted on a whole planet.

The glyph glowed brightly with heat even from orbit. A testament to the wrath of the Maug-Lai. Salog began to broadcast to the entire Federation, so that all would know what happened today.

While the rest tried to come up with solutions, Sindra had a notification on her data pad. Once she saw it, her eyes widened.

"Excuse me for interrupting, but you all may want to see this." Sindra projected the hologram of Salog over the hologram projector in the center of the room.

"Children of the Maug-Lai. The first blood of the Legolo-sa has been spilt. The High Breed of Kalchata are no more!" Everyone was shocked in the room.

"Today, Kalchata now wears the Death Glyph of the Legolo-sa." The hologram showed Kalchata, the wound still burning and visible even from the hologram.

"Today is the beginning of the end of the High Breed. They will burn under the cleansing rays of our ships. Long live the Maug-Lai!"

The Maw - OCV Paretek

The bridge crew was very surprised at the sudden intrusion and the lax attitude of the xeno A.I.

"T..tthat's my personal files!" Yelled the helm operator.

"Karsten, you never told me you were married", retorted the sensors operator.

"Enough of talk!" Yelled the Captain before changing his tone to a softer one. "Well, I guess we both know that if you can hack your way into my systems, you already have access to our database." He stood up from his chair and faced the AI. "Welcome to the Maw, xeno. The most dangerous space in the Ostian Imperium. Almost all shields and sensors are disabled while communications are hampered to short-ranged. But I don't need to tell you this because you probably already know." He took a pause before speaking again. "So are you here to kill my crew and take my ship or perhaps looking for directions?" Before he left the chair, he pressed the silent alarm sending a faint distress signal to the last pinged Ostian Naval Patrol.

Fuerein System - Fuerein Fleet Starbase - Hanger

The crew member led the Captain and his entourage into the lift. After the lift doors closed, he typed something into the console and the lift moved upwards for about 10 seconds until the door opened revealing the spacious and circular command center. Consoles and monitors were everywhere with naval personal at each of them. However there was a few things that stood out, at the center there was a raised platform and some sort of chair with console. There was a group of people at the raised platform and a woman in a different uniform, the woman nodded to another person who walked to the visitors. "Vice Admiral Lutz Klein, Ostian Navy." The man spoke to Captain Dry. "Please excuse the Admiral, she is a very busy woman and we have more guests at that console over there speaking to the Emperor."

"I just came to tell the Admiral that when the Coalition fleet arrives in three days to help with the Hivebreed, I will be reassigned and wish to have some form of meeting with the Imperium". "For we know little of the Imperium and it would help to know more about who we will be fighting with".

"Actually, just looking for directions to a system nearby. Which brings me to my next question. Has anything happened here in the past few weeks? Possibly in this system?" Circi brought up a hologram of the local group of systems, the displeoa system was signaled out as a red dot out of the sea of blue dots. Circi soon noticed that the captain had activated a silent alarm.

"Ah, good Captain, I was just about to ask you if you could contact someone with authority nearby. If you don't mind, I'll have to stay in your systems for the time being. While your systems are antiquated compared to ours, your systems are much more acclimated to deal with the conditions of this system. Hopefully, one of your people's patrols come soon so we can smooth this all out and be on our different ways."

Solia was relived by the news, "They did it and now we send the E.C.R. drones to see if the ruins are still there". Solia gets a message on her wristguard and reads the message."Good news, we have the coordinates for the Ostian rally point and you can send your forces to help with the Hivebreed when you are ready".

The Maw - OCV Paretek

"A stranger breaks into my house, makes himself comfortable in my bed, reads all my personal data and asks if he could stay for the peacekeepers to arrive?" The Captain laughed, "You have guts, I can tell but you don't really need us do you? For all I know you could be downloading our entire database back to your ship, upgrade your systems and destroy us. When the patrol arrives there will be nothing but wreckage. Or you hack their own systems and then destroy them. But either way, give me one good reason to trust you besides the usual argument of us not dying."

About 2.5km from the Partek, an Ostian Naval patrol picked up the signal and began an intercept course. The ETA was about thirty minutes.

------------------------------------------------------
Fuerein System - Fuerein Fleet Starbase - Command Center

"Mmm...." Vice Admiral Klein muttered, "Travel is severely restricted as you know, security reasons of course. I can give you clearance but you will have to follow our procedures if you want to live." He handed him the tablet he was holding, "Keep it, Captain Y'era told me you were coming and for what reason so I made arrangements"

- State of War: Travel Restriction Protocol -

Welcome [Captain Dry] to the Ostian Imperium, an empire of twenty-four star systems with Ostia at its center. The major species are human, schlange and kreigschen. This tablet is programmed to help you orient yourself with the Ostian Imperium. In this limited database you an ask any question that can be answered on this tablet.

The following is the security instructions for the movement to the Ostia System, the capital system of the Ostian Imperium.

1. You are to follow the following path and coordinates
-Einheitspartei System to Gerechtigkeit System to Linke System to Stahlvolk System to Ostia System.
1a. A map of the Ostian Imperium has been included.
1b. You must follow this path for security purposes. Any attempt to deviate from the course will interrupt the scheduling.
1c. You cannot shortcut through the Moloch System which is under the jurisdiction of the Ostian Inquisition. Should you try to do so, you fall under their jurisdiction and void any passes given to you by the Ministry of the Ostian Navy.
1d. The codes will be given to you on a separate screen for security reasons.

2. When you enter a system, you must enter a specific way and shut down your engines.
2a. Should you attempt to pass one of the designated lines, you will be considered hostile
2b. You will have to give the registry code to the system's authorities.

3. After giving your registry and gaining confirmation, you are to present your security codes for the specific system. Again this is to ensure security. You will also asked your system of origin which is [Fuerein System].

4. You will be given a device which will ping your location to us at all times. This must be kept on for security purposes. You must also give your codes in the military registry as well, because we are in a state of war. This is to verify your identity another time.
4a. You must reach your destination within two or three hours or else the codes become invalid.
4b. The codes are activated when you leave the specific system, so if you leave the Fuerein System now and don't arrive at the Einheitspartei within two or three hours, its codes will become invalid. In total you have three hours at max of travel time between systems. Overall you have 15 hours of travel time not including travel within systems.
4c. A straight trip at standard Ostian travel time will take about a five days from your location.

5. You will be checked on the schedule if you are supposed to arrive at that time slot.

6. Finally you will be scanned for the said device which already has its own unique codes and signal for your own ship.

7. After all these steps you can leave the specified system.
7a. If you chose to stay keep in mind that the codes do not activate until you leave the specified system.

"Welcome to the bureaucracy", Vice Admiral Klein sarcastically remarked.

Circi rolled her eyes.

"Look, if I wanted to kill you, why would I be here, talking to you? Our ship has enough fire power to blast your Selgo shit clunker in half and more. Why would we come from the edge of the galaxy to just kill a bunch of miners whom we don't even know what the name of their species is? We are on official business from our government and would rather get that out of the way instead of arguing here with you. Now, let's wait for your authorities to arrive so I may speak with them and get out of your hair. Then, you can go back to being a struggling miner digging through the trash!" As her anger grew, the systems of the ship began to go haywire. The screens of the consoles began to go static. Circi soon realized what was happening and calmed down, making everything go back to normal.

Now, how long till your authorities arrive?" Circi asked.

The Maw - OCV Paretek

The Captain looked at his panel as the AI got angrier, and looked at it after it calmed down. The power fluctuated for a few moments before returning. "Report."

"Systems went down temporarily. We're rebooting them." Reported the Sensors operator.

"Should we call back the work crew?" Asked the Communications officer.

"Bring them back in." Spoke the Captain as he continued to stare at the AI. "You're asking me a question that you can answer yourself. Comparatively speaking our communications have better range than our sensors. "Since there is nothing on sensors, it can be about fifteen minutes to thirty minutes, according to the last pinged location as you already know. So why don't you ask me something you can't find in the database or perhaps lets continue pretending this is a transmission and not a hacking." Of course he was annoyed and bitter at the actions of the Xenos. It's like what the said before.

Outside the ship, the three battlesuits went back into the open hatch which closed after they entered. The external lights also flickered for a few moments due to the power fluctuations but started to dim.

Dyr has a look of annoyance on his face while he thinks to himself. "I have said in all interactions that my name is Dyr and why......" Dyr sighs and continues to think to himself. "The first race we will be fight with and made first contact with can't even get their first envoy of the coalition name right".

(OCC: I just going to assume they looked over the fact he said his name is Dyr to them and never Dry.)

Disploea System
Infested Worlds / Orbit
8 Days After Awakening

It had been about six days since the Highbreed had conquered the system, and consumed all life within it. The Highbreed now had total control over the system. And, thanks to the amount of Biogenerators and Bioships, the Allmind knew it would likely stay that way. There were now nearly forty Bioships, with four Bioship Dreadnoughts, and a Super Dreadnought under construction. Tyrant Orava was also pleased with this. The Allmind saw that, at least where the Ostians were concerned, the Highbreed might need something more than acid; especially when It sent out an invasion fleet.

So, these Bioships were made with that in mind. Bioengineered weapons now armed these ships with Bio-Plasma cannons, as well as some minor stolen ones having been built from Ostian origin into some of them. The Bioship Fleet was, for the most part, complete; and so their invasion could begin. In fact, by now, the Seeds that Orava sent out should be arriving. Tyrant Orava considered something; after they conquered the new systems, more Tyrants could likely form. Perhaps even a Queen. That would be... good, as it would strengthen the Highbreed as a whole.

One thing was certain: this system, and its worlds, belonged to the Highbreed...

Fuerein System
Seed Arrival
8 Days After Awakening

The Seeds had finally arrived. For the most part, it looked like an innocent asteroid or meteor shower. Most of the asteroids and meteors were small enough to be barely noticeable to scanners. The Seeds hurled for the various worlds of this system, while others crashed into the nearby star. It was hard to control trajectory for intersystem travel when the Seeds were simply vessels of carrying; but in the long run, one or more Seeds would probably hit a world. And, they did.

Each world received a meteor shower; tens of meteors struck each planet. Some burned up in the atmosphere, destroying the Spores due to the heat; others actually made it to the ground. And if the worlds all supported life or had life... that was organic material. Even if there were no aliens to consume, the Spores would consume. The Seeds which made it released the infamous and ominous red gas that seemed to signify the Highbreed's Spores. The gas began to spread; and the Spores began to consume and alter the life into biomass. Biomass which could be used to form Highbreed, or perhaps Biogenerators in the future.

As this spread occurred, on the one world with colonists, the asteroids which struck it landed in forests for the most part. But some landed near actual colonies. And they, too, released the signifying gas of Highbreed consumption. Within minutes, this would be visible from space, as the Spores multiplied and spread like wildfire; beginning to consume the world's organic material for Highbreed use. Once the Ostians noticed this, it would likely make their security measures seem almost useless...

Grechtingkeit System
Seed Arrival
8 Days After Awakening

Just as in the Fuerein System, the Grechtingkeit System began to receive its own Seeds. The Seeds were similarly chaotic and uncontrolled; some missing completely, some hitting into the star, some crashing and being destroyed by ship shields. The Seeds which struck the populated worlds were the only successful ones. As they struck, once more, Seeds could have burned up in the atmosphere, or otherwise had the misfortune of being destroyed by some other means.

Those which made it to the ground also began their release of the Spores, and the noxious red cloud which signified such a thing followed. The Spores wasted no time consuming anything in their path - forest, grass, organic material. It was all the same. Unused and untapped resources waiting to be consumed. As this spread occurred, some meteors hit near population centers... and the Spores continued spreading. Consuming anything in their path and changing it, mutating it for later use. Eventually, the Spores began reaching the population centers - small towns or cities, not major centers. At least, not yet.

Those unfortunate enough to be in such towns or cities were infected. Quickly. The familiar screams and terrified screeches of people dying resounded from them; as the familiar roar of hunger that promised death resounded from the newly formed Highbreed. It had begun. The Allmind began to see within this system, slowly but surely... and It was pleased. This system was a populated one. It was unsure how majorly; though these memories coming to It was helping It figure that out.

Let the feast begin...

I hoped that I would not need to pry further into your files, but it seems you leave me no choice. Good day to you, sir." Vorcha's voice came over the comms, still untranslated. Circi activated her translator.

"There you go, Commander. I'm translating your comms. Maybe you can have better luck with these tarlacks than I have." Circi said before dissappearing into the ship's systems.

"I apologize for our AI, Circi. She can be... Unreasonable at times. I am Commander Vorcha Ol-Garran of the Tagali Federation. I apologize for taking a shot at you earlier. Communication seemed to not be working and you were getting a little too close for comfort. I hope you understand."

"We'll begin forming an expeditionary force immediately." The lord of Admiral's said. "I already have a candidate already decided to lead it. Rear-Admiral Tila has plenty of experience commanding operations away from supply lines in the Fringe and has a history of cooperation with the Maug-Lai. She'll be perfect for an operation like this."

"General Tag Zakamee has an excellent track record as well. He'll be a great addition to the Expeditionary Force. I'll be mobilizing battalions to transfer. We'll be sending the Federation's finest. Hopefully, these Ostians will do the same." Sagan checked his datapad.

"I have to leave for Kalchata. I have to give Highest Warlord Salog the information we have learned here today. He won't listen unless I talk to him in person. Possibly save more lives by making them see clearly." Sagan turned to Solia.

"You're permitted to land drones onto the surface, but no one is allowed to enter the atmosphere. Once the Maug-Lai have rallied and leave for the Ostians, the FIS will set up a blockade of the planet in case this is High Breed ruse." Lahira stood up.

"A state of war now exists in the Federation. We will commit our resources to fighting the High Breed. I'll make the announcement in the morning. I also have an appointment with Captain Lethox of the Generation. Perhaps he and his people have something that can help turn the tide."

The Maw - OCV Paretek

"While I am very annoyed at this disturbance, I understand that I am in no position to argue." The Captain spoke slowly. "I understand that scavenging is a type of work not well respected but I do my part for the Imperium. So let us restart this shall we? Welcome to the Maw, a very hazardous nebula at the borders of the Ostian Imperium. Almost all sensors and shields do not work. As I told your AI, the communications array has more range than the sensors in comparison. My ship is equipped with specialized equipment made to handle these conditions but even it is limited."

Fuerein System - Fuerein Fleet Starbase - Command Center

"If I got something wrong, understand that I only had four hours of sleep." Vice Admiral Klein earnestly replied. "We're trying to get ready for the Highbreed Incursion. Which means setting up defenses, formations and other things. We got other things to sort out as well such as the two other powers here." He pointed first at the Admiral and than to the group of men at the command console, "The Admiral was speaking to a species known as the Rah'Vin Federation while those people over there are from the Aterrian Union. They both have sizeable fleets in the systems so imagine handling two first contacts at once. Actually three including yours." Klein added quickly.

Fuerein System - Fuerein Fleet Starbase - Command Center - Transmission

A transmission was sent to the Marksman: "While I would ask how did you know of the Highbreed? At this point I don't really care. Head to the following coordinates and send a shuttle to the starbase. Know that one fleet is preparing to leave for combat, a fleet under the control of another power. My fleet is to stay here according to the stand fast order given to us by the Emperor of Ostia."

Furein System - The RFS Marksman & The Marksman Squadron

”This is Squadron Captain Yuk’ai, of the RFS Marksman. The information on how we know of these so-called Highbreed is… classified, as is our source of information, and how much we really know about them.”

The captain stated over his transmission, which quickly followed that of the Furein Fleet Starbase. He frowned, as he noted the hostile tone in the voice of the man he was dealing with right now.

”I know handling this great lapse in strategic knowledge must be difficult for you, but please be aware that the Rah’Vin are more than capable of defending ourselves should you become hostile. Your tone was not appreciated. One of our Marauder-class shuttles will be sent with a diplomatic team, as well as an armed guard, and a group of scientists.”

The metallic, quadruped Rah’Vin motioned with one of his six arms to have the Marauder-class vessel launched with the team. He had lost his wings, and, having refused to replace them, the man instead had several arms, and other appendages, interlaced with his spine. His metallic, pointed insect-like legs clinked against the ground as he stepped forward. He stood at at least 4 meters high, and was large for even a Rah’Vin. The man was one of the few Rah’Vin who had lived past the last plague to ravage the Federation, which reduced their population from 100 trillion with Naturals being the majority, to 2 trillion with the Created (droids, and drones) being the majority, and wiped out much of the life in their deep space colonies. He was over 7,000 years old, and had seen the Rah’Vin’s population rise drastically in the past few millennia, and the majority of them begin to truly harness the technology that they had used for so long.

When the team arrived, they wouldn’t need an exoskeleton, even if others would, due to the fact they had synthetic, auto-filtering lungs, and thermoregulating bodies. The capacity for cybernetics, and synthetic materials, on part of the Federation was unrivaled by any species that they had met so far. Perhaps their capacity for technology was why they were so capable in the task of gathering information, and with that gathering they became skilled in withholding or even tricking others into believing they didn’t know was much as they did.

Mahaudivar Region - DSLS3 (Deep Space Listening Station 3)

Within the Mahaudivar region, the Rah’Vin had one of their Deep Space Listening Stations. It was a massive, orb-shaped outpost with artificial satellites roaming around it, and the capacity to read data transmissions millions upon millions upon millions of light years away at rapid speeds. It had been retrofitted to do this out of one of the Supercarriers that the Rah’Vin built a few years ago, and now was the third listening post to be built by the Rah’Vin. The others, however, were dwarfed in size, and capacity, as the Mahaudivar DSLS did more than just listen. It sends, activates, prepares, analyzes, and creates plans. It is a spy base, and acts as an academy. This is how the Rah’Vin know, and, while they don’t know all, they will… one day.

"Our ship is one of the first of its kind. While I can't go into specifics with a civilian. I can say that we were sent out here in a hurry." Meanwhile, Circi looked over the files. She found nothing of note, just more accounting records, inventories, old discarded messages. She suddenly came across a video. It seemed to be a few days old. Circi watched its contents. Ostian battlesuits fighting an off screen enemy. Ships firing on their comrades. Large Organic ships launching fighters. It was all Circi needed to see. She reappeared on the Deck of the ship.

"How long until your patrol gets hear. We need to speak with your officials, now!"
Quote of the- Oh, I don't know how long I'm gonna have this on here.
"It's all good in the hood!" I replied cheerfully. But deep down, I knew that there were many socio-economic problems in the hood.

"Here are the coordinates for the rally point", Solia transfers the coordinates to a datapad and gives it to the Lord of Admirals. Solia turns to Lahira. "Only the drones will be on that planet's surface and no one else". "We will with leave with Sagan to Kalchata and we can't join the fight since we are an exploration vessel". "We can after the scans, stay in system and help anyway we can". Solia turns to one of her guards, "Tell the Spirit to send a message to the Legacy, that the Tagalia Federation is on their way to the Fuerein System to help with the Hivebreed and tell the Ostians to expect them".

The guards obeyed and the message was sent.

"Its fine and", Dyr wristguard makes ping sound and he goes and reads the message. "Hmm, well, the Admiral may have a fourth contact to deal with". "They called themselves the Tagalia Federation and will send a fleet to help and arrive in this system". "Perhaps I could help with Admiral with the Federation since my people have made contact with them, when they arrive?

The Triyar System
Guardian Ayruzial, Orbit of Authan
The Sinn Ascendancy

Ayruzial was a Sinn Guardian. A living, sentient and sapient space station-like warship that doubled as a transport, starship and orbital weapon. Ayruzial's mind was made up of thousands of Sinn programs, with automated drone starfighters and war machines. There were even Sinn aboard to run physical maintenance of things the programs could not. Ayruzial was approximately 30 kilometers in diameter, due to the rounded shape of most Guardian forms. It was constantly in psionic communication with all other Guardians and relevant Sinn programs within the Ascendancy; primarily, High Command / HiCom.

Ayruzial continued scanning the system. Authan was the edge planet of the Triyar System, which was one of the edges of Sinn territory. It was monitoring for aliens and organics. A stealth observation drone just reported back via FTL-Signals and Psionics. The Highbreed were back, apparently. Ayruzial relayed this information to HiCom, as well as nearest Guardians. The Sinn had dealt with the Highbreed before... or, rather; dealt with refugees of them before. Survivors of previous awakenings looking for safety. The Ascendancy had turned them down. All interactions with organics ended in hostilities or the organics questioning the authority of the Created Beings; the Sinn. Logically and statistically speaking, the Ascendancy had to prepare for interaction with organics or xeno-created synthetics. After all, logic would dictate that eventually those xenos would find the Sinn.

Ayruzial was told by HiCom to prepare for defense of Authan in case of hostilities. Hopefully, it wouldn't come to that. It hoped It wouldn't have to destroy any organics, but gladly would to preserve the Ascendancy. Hope. A strange emotion, rare among Sinn. The Sinn were cold, calculating and logical; not very emotional. Odd. Ayruzial wondered if the Ascendancy would be forced to fight yet another war. It did the math. There was a strong chance... unfortunate. The Ascendancy really didn't need to get into a war. Although, the math checked out at there being a significant - if small - chance for peace. Perhaps things would be different this time. Perhaps. If so, the Ascendancy might have to become active rather than observing the Highbreed and its behavior. What an interesting possibility.
