Introduction

The field of maritime surveillance is one that is often overlooked by military planners. Too often, the coastlines and oceans of a nation's territory is defended simply by radar, or ground stations. Too often, expensive warships and fighter planes take the role of defending the coast. The truth is, they are not suited for such missions. They are either over prepared, which is expensive, or underprepared, which can cause you defeats. Where can a nation find the right balance? Maritime Patrol is now a key factor in Dyaas-Nildhelm's eyes. While this kind of field is new to us, we have done our best to fill a vital gap in a nation's defenses. We have taken a current business jet, and have totally refitted it with the latest equipment to say the least. Prepare to view, the VL.50 Visvanger.

Role

This aircraft is a fully armed Maritime Patrol Aircraft. Its functions are reconnaissance of the seas. These roles are put into action in a variety of ways. From patrol missions to full on attack missions, this aircraft is suited for anything. Another point to note is that landlocked nations can still purchase this aircraft. While not dedicated to it, this aircraft does have an electronic warfare suite and recon module on board. Whatever the use, this aircraft is an asset in strike missions. The VL.50 is equipped with 7 hardpoints to hold a variety of missiles. For maritime patrol, it can hit both surface and underseas targets. Above ground, it can be used to survey a battlefield, and fire missiles for support when needed. AN MPA is a must have for national security, and Dyaas-Nildhelm has the answer.

VL.60 Torenvalk/Kestrel

Introduction

Of all of Dyaas-Nildhelm's aerial products, the number one order is still for the VL.40 Kroonarend both Mk's 1 and 2. All of these orders coming in, even after new planes were designed spurred us to make something greater. Looking back on our core values, we found ourselves where we started. Making affordable and deadly aircraft to fit sometimes niche roles. Our duty is to help nations both big and strong. This is where the VL.60 Torenvalk comes in. It is a completely new and updated Trainer/Fighter craft. As with any product, we carefully designed this craft to be powerful, maneuverable and efficient. This aircraft is in part thanks to the many nations who ordered the VL.40. If you did so, then you shall be pleased with our next, the VL.60 Torenvalk.

Role

This is first and foremost a supersonic trainer aircraft and light fighter jet. Many nations have vast arsenals of jets, and do not have the necessary equipment to train pilots. This is where trainer jets come in. The VL.60 is a high end trainer jet that feels exactly like a fighter jet. Our best opinion is to use this as a higher end training jet. However, if your nation feels the need, it can be a starter jet as well. On the other hand, this jet can be treated as a light fighter. These duties can range from intercept jets or bombers, aerial patrol, and strike missions. Speaking of strike missions, one feature we greatly expanded upon is this jet's strike ability. This jet can also become a dedicated attack aircraft, loaded with a variety of missiles and bombs. The onboard specs allow this jet to fill so many roles.

This plane is above its predecessor. It is more fast, durable, and light than the VL.40. It has a higher service ceiling, and better electronics onboard.

Avionics

Cockpit

The VL.60 Torenvalk features a full glass cockpit which can accommodate two crew members, either a student pilot and instructor, or an official pilot and weapons systems officer. A multi-color head down display is fitted on both front and rear cockpit, while the head up display is installed at the cockpit front. Digital fly by wire , and hands-on throttle and stick flight control systems are also installed in the aircraft. The aircraft is also integrated with full authority digital engine control, which decreases the work load of the pilot by executing autopilot operations.

Overall

It features a GPS receiver. A big point is the fitting of a Westinghouse NA/MAG-60 IV Radar within the nose. This is a new radar rolled out by Westinghouse which has near the same capability as the radar on a VL.70, but smaller in size. It houses extra space onboard with a DTC, Data Transfer Cartridge, for extra data to be stored within the craft and avionics growth.
