WorldVision 42 - Caen, Normandy and Picardy [IC-OPEN]

As BNRT'S ident music plays, the above message is shown on TV screens across the multiverse, with BNRT welcoming people to the greatest show on Earth. At home and in the Caenana Stadja, people watching wait in anticipation of the show to come. Then, as the ident ends, the logo of the contest fades onto TV screens everywhere, and the cheering of the audience in Caen can be slightly heard, adding to the tension.

Music For The Opening

After that, audiences at home are showed two children, 10 year old Marcel from Caen and 7 year old Myafrom Britonisea. They stand in a central square at the top of the Cola Pau Sefetral. They both begin to run, and from behind them "Moments", represented by spheres of different colours, come from behind and into the air, following them as they go down the hill. As they run down, they pass through sites such as the "Escrigavan", an old street home to boutiques and jewellers for centuries and a piece of music by Caen based group "Junson and Co" entitled "The Run" plays as they do so. As they go, the cameras occasionally look up and show the moments flying through the air, with the occasional shots of the modern waterfront of Caen, home to the Caenana Stadja where the show is being held. The children stop in the "Velensplaza", where they get onto bikes decorated with the flags of the competing countries, created by Raðon Velner, a specialist in bike-making born in Caen. They then ride towards the River Caen, after which the city is named, passing sites such as the Cathedral of St Andrew and the People's Assembly Building before eventually reaching the river. Throughout this little film, it has been getting later and later, and by this point it is evening. The two children are seen getting on a boat, with the Normand flag, Britonish flag and the WorldVision flag, and as it begins to sail down the River towards the Bay of Esfelron, the cameras pan up, now showing it to be night-time, and those watching now see the moments converging at the Caenana Stadja.

Image

The cameras then turn back towards the two children, in the boat they boarded earlier and approaching the stadium. Now, a second piece of music entitled "Moments" plays (OOC: From 2:52); "Moments" was composed by students at the Caen College of Music. Also seen are crowds of people waving flags outside of the stadium - who will be watching it on a series of giant screens outside as they weren't able to get tickets for inside the stadium - waving flags from countries across the multiverse, from Ekoz to Kishrael and Polkopia to Izmedu. The two children's boat stops and the girls disembark onto the little plaza area around the stadium, and they then walk together through the crowds whilst the WorldVision flag is carried behind them. They then enter the stadium, and the crowd inside cheers loudly as they do so. They continue to walks towards the stage, on a bridge-like construction that has been lowered above the centre of the crowd. Behind them, a representative of each nation walks onto the stage with the flag of that nation. All around, WorldVision fans are shown waving the flags of their respective countries and cheering as they know the show has begun.

The two girls then reach the centre of the stage, where the girl from Britonisea passes a small version of the WorldVision flag to the Normand boy, which is representative of the contest being handed from Britonisea to Normandy and Picardy. Then, the three hosts of the night, Martin Selenoer, Irinja Volend and Wenðín Askvalen, walk onto the stage to the loud cheers of the Normand crowd, and the general cheers of the rest of the crowd. The two children stand with Wenðín, who will be in charge of the greenroom. The other hosts begin to speak, as Wenðín leads the two children off stage to go to the greenroom, the flag bearers leave the stage and the opening music ends, the camera turning away from them as they do, and towards Martin and Irinja.

M: Bonjasorlí WorldVision! Good Evening everyone! I am Martin Selenoer
I: I am Irinja Volend
M: and Bonjavis, or Welcome, to the WorldVision Song Contest, live from Caen
(The crowd cheers as this is said, and, as would be expected, the main cheering is from the Normand section of the crowd)
I: Yes, we are here in Caen, and this year we invite you to "Feel The Moment"
(The logo of the contest appears on the background, again to the cheers of the crowd)
M: This year, __ countries will compete for the ultimate title, WorldVision champion
I: But to do that, they have to convince all of you to vote for their acts
M: Each country will perform in a randomly selected order, and after all of the acts have performed, you will vote for your favourite
I: Then, once you have voted, we will reveal how each country voted and who the winner of the contest will be this year
M: Now, no more talking from us, here is a performance by local artists Esvelen and Orvetin. Without further ado, let's get this party on the roll!
(The two hosts then leave the stage, as the opening act begins)

Opening Act
Esvelen and Orvetin - Feel The Moment
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pf-ZCI-UuA

Esvelen, fully Esvelen Arskon, was born in the Öfendalle district of Caen, but soon after his family moved to the nearby town of Gervason. Gervason, coincidentally, is the centre of the folk scene in Normandy and Picardy and hosts the Folki Festivalé pau Gervason, a large annual folk festival popular with thousands. Meanwhile, in the heart of Caen and in the Waterfront District, Orvetin Jullensför was developing a taste for rock music. The Normand rock scene is alive and kicking and has been for decades, and Orvetin got caught up by what is, in Normandy and Picardy, called the Second Wave, when a series or young rock musicians replaced the older talent and changed the genre. Orvetin was part of a group called Mermouétör (Seagulls) who had limited chart success. You will now be wondering how these two people who seems worlds apart met each other. The City Council of Caen organised a large music festival a few years ago, and both Esvelen, at the top of the Folk scene, and Orvetin - slowly making a name for himself - were invited to the show. The two met at the show, and in a moment they became friends. Both began experimenting with their music together, and soon they created a duo, Esvelen and Orvetin, and have since had a series of chart successes with their Folk-Rock style. They were commissioned by BNRT to create an opening song and theme for this contest, and this is what they came up with...

As the opening instrumental plays, the cameras shows us Esvelen and Orvetin on different sides of the stage, and a man playing a large Timpani set in the middle. As Esvelen and Orvetin both sing, there are bursts of pyrotechnics.

Jé, Jé
Jé, Jé

As the song begins, the camera zooms in on Esvelen, who sits on a "tree stump" on the left side of the stage, decorated in the flags of different competing nations, as representatives of each competing nation dance around him and on the stage, from Polkopia to Izmedu and from Tödlichebujoku to Ekoz. They all perform a traditional Normand dance, the Evöndansa, which is like a traditional Breton dance, and the background shows the word Sensalés (Feel), the word made up of the flags of each competing nation. The cameras pan around the stage, showing the dancers from many nations like Britonisea and Kalosia.

Sensalés erön (Feel it)
Sensalés ar momenta (Feel the moment)
Savalés esa poual (You know you can)
Et jenvalés esan céura (And your heart yearns)
Sensalés touli pau er (Feel all of it)
Et saval ne einalés esa (And know you are not)
Solan dan cet monde (Alone in this world)
Nesa ö quasetem et touli (Tonight or anytime at all)
Sensalés ar momenta (Feel the moment)
Sensalés erön ave nusa (Feel it with us)

The cameras change to show Orvetin, who is singing in Picard, spoken - as you may expect - in the Picardy region of the country. BNRT has done this deliberately, especially as the Picards are having an independence referendum soon, to show the unity of the nation and of everyone. The dancers rip of their traditional clothing to reveal more modern ones, and they begin a more tango like dance. He is on a stand on the right hand side of the stage.

Conéa en tóan (Believe in yourself)
Conéa en witt tó puan aciven (Believe in what you can achieve)
Avenaðina Mundðinoff (The future of the world)
Einan tóna, nan ccaéa erden (Is yours, now shape it)
Kofoa moninstðinnó (Make the moments)
E sensoa erlad acg nosadtol (And share them with us all)
Moninstccó einádd nosé (These moments are ours)
Lankofloð becófeu erladoffósc (Let's make the most of them)

As the chorus begins, the dancers leave the stage, dancing off, as Esvelen and Orvetin meet each other in the middle of the stage, having walked from the sides. They first face each other and then, as the second line is sung, they turn to the audience.

Feel the moment, feel it with us
Feel the moment, let yourself free

In the small instrumental bit before the verse, the tree stump vacated by Esvelen is now sat on by a man in traditional Normand clothing playing a Lötop, a traditional Normand lute, pretending to play the instrumental. As the verse begins, dancers return to the stage, all wearing traditional Normand clothes and doing a small ring dance in the corner. On the left, the audience can see some actors, performing a traditional Normand scene called "The Story of Orela", similar to the story of St George and the Dragon. The background shows moments flying through the air, coming from locations through the multiverse.

Just let yourself go
Don't be afraid of anything
No matter how hard
It seems, just keep on going
Find your moment
Find the things that make you feel
Greater than ever
And share them with everybody

As the chorus begins, the dancers gather around Esvelen and Orvetin and carry on their dance, and the actors - out of sight of the cameras, leave the stage. The background shows the motto of the contest, "Feel The Moment", made up of the moments. Each of the moments shows a webcam image, with a family from each of the competing countries. They are supporting their own country with banners and the like.

Feel the moment, feel it with us
Feel the moment, let yourself free
Feel the moment, feel it inside
Feel the moment, let yourself be

As Orvetin plays the guitar solo, sparks fly out of the end and the area where Esvelen and Orvetin are standing rises up. The dancers go wild, looking like they are in some sort of rave. As the final chorus plays, the crowds are singing the song along and the dancers return back to a somewhat organised dance.

Feel the moment, feel it with us
Feel the moment, let yourself free
Feel the moment, feel it inside
Feel the moment, let yourself be

The crowds cheer wildly as the song end, as the contest is about to begin. On TV screens across the multiverse, the following message shows, which means "Welcome To Caen".
Image

(Then, Irinja and Martin return to the stage, the crowds still cheering wildly in anticipation of the show ahead).
Now, you don't have to wait any longer.
Let The WorldVision Song Contest Begin!

Karya Marhowani - Muffled Cries
Tune: Kadhja Bonet - Honeycomb

Introduction/Pre-Performance

In this edition of Worldvision, Nobreloen and Elke and Elba celebrate the 10th anniversary of its first entry into Worldvision. Unlike anything sent before by the Nobreloen committee, Muffled Cries is a song about a spurned lover that failed to take into account the obvious underlying signs before she got spurned, and sung by independent artist Karya Marhowani.

Performance

The stage starts off completely blacked-out.

As Karya starts singing, a spotlight starts to brighten up and focus on Karya, who was wearing a simple black bare-back dress and singing into an old-style microphone. Karya remains largely emotionless throughout.

The rest of the stage remains pitch dark.

My muffled cries...

Muffled cries, dripping tears on my cheeks
my only remembrance of you who

disappeared

and I once thought that we were as one
until that day...

Now once I'm up, where sleep leaves from me,
my sanity takes a toll,

my muffled cries,

all numerous feelings appear suddenly
yet like thorns in one's flesh

and my sole reaction then-
muffled cries,
ooh, muffled cries,
muffled cries,
ooh, muffled cries

She moves across the room slowly, and sits of a chair elegant while adopting the Thinker's pose, and continues singing - presumably into a hidden microphone. Yet, she remains largely emotionless.

Looking back - without rose-tinted glass
The signs were always there

Muffled cries,

yet I thought I was blessed
but I was the laughing-stock-

She straightens up her body, and continues:-

those gestures not of love -
all the meals you left hurriedly
yet I thought you were just so busy -
all the dates you left so quickly
was it not clear that you weren't true?

Muffled cries,
ooh muffled cries,
muffled cries,
ooh muffled cries,

Muffled cries,
ooh muffled cries,
Muffled cries,
ooh muffled cries...

The spotlight on Karya starts fading as she continues singing the outro.

those gestures not of love -
all the meals you left hurriedly
yet I thought you were just so busy -
all the dates you left so quickly
was it not clear that you weren't true?

“Lie, Lie, Lie”
Lord Almighty Gregory and King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF
Tune: “The Boxer” by SImon and Garfunkel

King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF walks onto the stage dressed in fake Sanctii robes, wearing a fake crown, and waving a Sanctii flag. He steps up to the microphone and begins to sing in a mocking voice, impersonating King Petrus XX of Saintland.

I’m just a dumb king
Of a wicked, heathen land
I love worshiping Eye-ee-zus
And leading a whole country
And the Church of Lies
I beat my wife
I’m a man, it’s what a man can do
In wicked, dumb Saintland

A slave dressed as Queen Veronica comes on stage without a head covering. King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF proceeds to brutally beat her for not wearing a head covering, then tell her to go make him a sandwich or he’ll beat her again. She scurries off stage after bowing to her “husband” as Sanctii women must do 683 times a day if they do not want to get beaten further.

I’m in the Royal Family
And even as a boy
I joined the Church of Saintland
So I could lie to the Sanctii masses all day long
A bad pun
Who would question me, for I’m the Sanctii King
Here is exactly what I always do

Lie Lie Lie
Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie
Lie Lie Lie
Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie Lie

King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF hurls Bibles into the audience and demands the members read them or be drawn and quartered for violating the Church of Saintland. He then waves multiple flags of Saintland through the air before continuing to sing.

Women cannot work for wages
We are sexist, evil pigs
We oppress all of our women
Unwed women must be whores
Or maybe lesbians
But either way
There is just one thing we can do
Wait, who the heck are you?

All of a sudden, Lord Almighty Gregory himself walks on stage to thunderous applause from the Gregoryisgodistani contingent. They stand up and then bow to him as they are required to do by law. King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF, being an actor impersonating King Petrus, does not. Fortunately, there will be no repeat of The Execution Song, as he received special dispensation to insult Lord Almighty Gregory and not bow. As the people bow, an instrumental bridge plays. Then, Lord Almighty Gregory stomps on the Sanctii flags, sets them on fire, burns the Bibles, points a machine gun and the flamethrower at King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF, rips the microphone off his face, puts it on his own, and starts to sing while pointing the weapons at King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF.

Die Die Die
Die Die Die Die Die Die Die
Die Die Die
Die Die Die Die Die Die Die Die Die Die Die Die

You are a wicked, evil King
It’s time for you to die
In the cold of Sanctii winters
You beat wifey queen
You will die
Here right now

And the world knows I am God
And the one and only Lord
And now here is a reminder
Here is just how things are going down
I’ll shoot you till you cry out
In repentance and in shame
Gregory is the One True Lord
Please let my life remain

Lord Almighty Gregory fires bullets from the machine gun at King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF in beat with the drumbeats in the background of the final chorus. Blood appears to gush out of King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF’s chest, but in reality he is wearing a bulletproof vest and it is fake blood.

King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF then pretends to fire one final shot at King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF’s as the song ends. In reality, the bullet went over his head, but fake blood pours from a fake wound in his head anyway as he falls to the ground and pretends to be dead. Lord Almighty Gregory stomps on King Petrus XX Impersonator KASID99394DF’s neck and asserts a victory pose for the cameras before everything fades to black.

Santa Claus
365 Days of Christmas
Tune: 12 Days of Christmas

OOC: Since I can’t fit all 365 verses in this post due to the character limit, I’m only including the last few. But Santa Claus sang all of them. It took a long time. If it takes three minutes to sing the conventional 12 Days of Christmas, it would take six hours to sing this song.

Santa Claus walks up to the stage wearing a Santa suit and throws lovely presents into the audience and commentary booth while reminding them that it is Christmas every day in Santaclausisgodistan, hence the 365 Days of Christmas.

4. Polkopia
Luptani - On Lavit
Language: Polkopian/English
Translation: One Love

It was decided via National Final that the group, Luptani would represent the nation of Polkopia at the Worldvision Song Contest hosted in Caen, Normandy & Picardy. Luptani is an all-male pop-opera group composed of three members; Vladimir Popov, David Marshutkov, and Anton Redd and have been a huge hit within Polkopia for the past three years. Now, the group thought that it'd be a good idea to try to bring Polkopian popular culture into the realm of Worldvision, and have so far been successful, having won the National Final to be able to compete in Worldvision.

Once it was time to perform, the stage was completely dark at first and completely silent as well, save for the occasional cheer from an audience member upon the Polkopian entry taking the stage. The song had been a huge hit internationally, following the group's win in the Landa vy Polkopiya, and the expectations were very high for this song. Suddenly, a single spotlight appears toward the back of the stage, where a single pianist is playing the piano. The piano itself is a large, white grand piano, and seemed to stand out amongst the dark surroundings. Suddenly, a voice is heard as the first member, Vladimir, began to sing. It wasn't until a few seconds after he started singing, that he became visible from another spotlight focused on him. He was standing in the front of the stage, facing the audience, one arm extended. He wore a navy suit with a gold, white, and black striped tie, to match with the Polkopian flag. His pocket square was white, to match the tie.

Red: Vladimir only
Blue: David only
Green: Anton only
Black: All three

Ne multo naža (Not long ago)
Ya com o meta (I met a girl)
Tebya fera yash (She was mine)
I ya fera tebyash (And I was hers)

Ti kazcia um navuna (It seemed like forever)
Kot asha bi vimena (That we would be together)

Another light shone on stage, showing the face of Luptani's second member, David, who walked toward Vladimir center-stage. Like Vladimir, he wore a navy suit and a tie, and his tie was colored in the same scheme as the Polkopian flag, however, the color of his pocket square was gold, unlike Vladimir's, which was white. As David walked toward Vladimir, he took slow strides, looking at the camera, singing into the microphone while he walked.

Sa aga edalo (As time passed)
Asha kasvil lahdel (We grew apart)
I devima (And became)
Le neka strani (Less than strangers)

Ti kazcia um navuna (It seemed like forever)
Dala asha a se lavit (Since we fell in love)

Anton, the last member of the group, walked near the piano and sat on the edge, looking up at the ceiling as he sang. We wore a similar suit as the others, only his pocket square was colored black instead of white and gold. The stage now began to show a sun peak over a horizon, but all that was visible was the sunrise, and grass swaying in the wind.

Yo bij yas on lavit (You were my one love)
O aga lagdel asha (But time tore us apart)
Dri inimi, ono kosta vimena de lavit (Two people, once bound together by love)

The camera panned on David once again, who remained in his spot, facing the crowd.

Yo bij yas on lavit (You were my one love)
I sami yom pera (And now you're gone)
Dri inimi
, ono kosta vimena de lavit (Two people, once bound together by love)

The stage turned to darkness, but only for a moment. The camera panned overhead, where Anton joined the other two members at the front of the stage. The stage was now illuminated by dark blue lights and what looked like stars dotting the back LED screen as Vladimir sang in English this time.

It was years ago
But now I know
There's nobody in the world
Quite like you

And now that you're gone
All I think about
are your beautiful eyes

All three of the members sang the last few notes, and continued to sing the chorus in sync. The background showed the stars moving, at first slowly, but then starting to speed up, revolving around each other into different constellations, before finally forming in the shape of a heart which beat to in sync with the rhythm.

You were my one love
But time tore us apart
Two people, once bound together by love

You were my one love
And now you're gone
Two people, once bound together by love

David reached out toward the people and sang. The stage, meanwhile, was flooded with strobe lights which blinked all around the center of the stage and spotlights were moving rapidly around the interior of the stage as well.
You're the one I can never forget.

Vladimir now leaned forward, squeezed his eyes shut as if he were in extreme pain, and sang.
You're the one I see in my dreams.

Finally, Anton extended one arm outward and sang the first few notes while the others chimed in.
And now I can't see anyone else without thinking of you.

The lights went out completely, and the stage illuminated in beautiful bright shades of gold, mimicking the sun's rays which seemed to shine over the three men. David began to sing the first line of the chorus while eventually, the other three chimed in.

You were my one love
My one true queen
But now that you're gone, my soul is empty

You were my one love
And it's time to move on
But once in a while I hope, just maybe, you'll come back

My one love

The three of them bowed toward the crowd. "Thank you Caen." Vladimir said, before the three of them exited the stage.

Gasp! EDO before Electrum???

5. ELECTRUM DIPLOMATIC OFFICES

Song: "Generic Love Song"
Aritist: Gertrude Pullman
Tune: Fairytale by Alexander Rybak

Gertrude Pullman, after her song last edition reviewing each of the songs actually had this song in the backburner for the longest time. It is a pop-inspired song based on her disgust in previous editions where songs about love and romance come up every single edition, usually beating her own songs about how 'everybody sucks' or the 'worldvision medley'. This time, she will be really going for it, with hopes for a top twenty spot with a technically superb song with a strong violin part, whilst poking fun at the songs that come up every year.

Image
Gertrude Pullman in her pink frilly dress tonight

0:06
A breakup, then some mending
Maybe about some girl some where
A sickly reflection of the past
But one things clear, they're all the same

She is not actively playing the violin yet, but with her arms outstretched, 4 owls come and fly onto her hands as she tap dances in her high heels on stage, all whilst the owls are balancing on her arms.

0:43
All of these generic songs
So sick and sweetly
It's time for some new song ideas
We're already doomed

Two back up singers come on stage -- it is her sisters, Bertrand and Nancy Pullman. They get into the tap dancing mood too as pigs and cows hearts fall from the ceiling. The sisters kick the hearts, some still beating, and some still bloody into the audience.

1:19
Then one day, a misunderstanding
Brick walls smashed, or a gutwrencher
What else but, the singer crying
Or even a triumphant break-up

A promise to do better
Or some contrived plot device
Nowadays, I cannot stand it
But when I do, it'll be when I'm dead

On stage, fireworks and firecrackers start lighting up, and more owls join the stage. As the fire starts coming up, the owls fly everywhere throughout the audience.

1:58
All of these generic songs
So sick and sweetly
It's time for some new song ideas
We're already doomed

Generic songs everywhere
They're being brainwashed
It's time to go back to the past
The youth are doomed

Gertrude says to the audience: "I better win now, or I'm going back to my old ways!"

Seven - Alright (Starting at the 0:30 mark)

Seven runs and jumps onto the stage, looking very cheerful. He starts to sing.

I always knew, deep down inside
It’s alright, alright
I always knew, but you would still say
It’s alright, alright

You tell me what to do
With my love, alright
You let me know I’m looking good
You’re so right, it’s alright

I going going to hit you with a 747
You won’t be going to heaven

You’d always, light up my fuse, alright, alright
Now I’m going to blow that fuse, alright, alright

Please die, alright
What you did with my love
was not alright

Gotta let you know Imma give you Ebola
Then I’ll be out sight, alright

Go out and splurge, drink your favorite wine
Then you will die
It may hurt, but it’s alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

I will find peace when you die
Don’t waste your time, cause there’s not much more
In your grave, you will forever lie
I’ll be alright

You can be lifted down, down, down, down (x a lot)
In you grave tonight
Enjoy life
Because baby tonight
I will kill you tonight

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

You’ll always, be a manipulative bitch
For all your life
Not long, alright

Max Ønarsson, 25, is a well-known and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter. He was reluctant to enter the WorldVision Song Contest due to the STE's style of production; Ønarsson is the first of any Ekozian representatives to be given full creative control of both the song, and his performance. His song, 'Unconscious' is the fastest selling song of 2015, and is currently number one on the Ekoesestoplistann.

Max stands centre stage. He is wearing a black tight fitted top accentuating his toned physique, with black skinny jeans and black boots. The stage and LED screen behind him are completely black. The only lighting Max has is from below, half lighting his face, giving off a shadowy image to the viewers. The camera zooms in onto the top half of Max.

Rise and fall, been through it all,
It has led to destruction,
The time has come, to end this endless struggle.

Ohhh

Goodbye, don't you cry.
I will always be with you,
I have to go,
This life I have is worthless,

Max leaves the microphone on its stand and opens his arms to the sides. As the dubstep-esque beat kicks in. The camara pans out into a full view of the stage and strobe lighting begins, in a rather rapid and jolting style with the music. The crowd cheer and roar.

Fall to the floor,
Resist no more,
It's the end, there's no pain,
Take the pill, then let go.
Trust me now, it's better being
Unconscious

As the beat fades, the camera then pans back in onto Max, however from the side. The lighting is still from below, creating the same effect as the first verse. The camera then twirls around Max, giving the viewers a vision of the audience. The viewers see a vaguely dark view of the audience. The camera pans back onto Max facing forward, centre stage. He remains expressionless and dark with his performance style and facial expressions.

Just let go, and slowly fall,
As I enter this darkness,
Life got cold, my story untold
Bury me, in too deep.
No escape from the darkness.
It's over now, finally over, yeah.

The strobe lighting then repeats. Max takes the microphone and starts to jolt around the stage. His facial expressions are representing pain and anguish. He looks directly into the camera whilst singing "it's better being unconscious".

Fall to the floor,
Resist no more,
It's the end, there's no pain,
Take the pill, then let go.
Trust me now, it's better being
Unconscious

As the 'woah' start, the podium in which Max stood on starts to rise. Max sits down cross legged as the backing singers sing the woahs. On the final set of woahs, Max stands. The camera zooms onto Max, who is on the edge of the platform, of which is around a 10 meter drop.

Woah, oh-oh-oh
Woah, oh-oh-oh
Woah, oh-oh-oh

It's better being
Unconscious

On the final "it's better being unconscious, Max throws the microphone, looks into the camera and then falls backwards off the podium. The camera zooms out, showing the empty podium and white LED screen. The crowd erupt as the camera pans to Ekozian fans shouting "Ekoese, Ekoese".

It's better being,
Unconscious

OOC NOTE: DJ Ejay's lines in green, MC Mascman's in red. Track sound effects in grey.
Original tune - Professor Green ft Example - Monster

Image

The background is of a packed club venue, silhouettes of the dancing throngs occasionally visible as the light strobes. In the foreground...a hole in the stage on the left side as we're looking at it. Suddenly, a bright green flash emerges from the hole, and during the opening chorus, DJ Ejay emerges on a rising platform (which includes a set of decks). The stage lights up green.

I spin the record and turn you around
Salute when you dance 'cause I'm the DJ (EJay)
Blood will pump when you hear the sound
Got that bass in your face, yes I'm the DJ
I hit the beat and get you on your feet
You're burning it up like it's a heat ray
Sizzlin' sound like you're a piece o' meat
Backstage at dawn, they all want EJay

A pyro goes off on the opposite side of the stage, releasing a cloud of red smoke from which MS Mascman emerges with a dynamic leap. His shirt is black with red LEDs that flicker in a pattern as he slams down his verse. The green lighting switches to red.

Mas Tequila are on the deck
Throwing beats like coins 'cause we cashed the cheque

(SFX: ker-ching till opening)
Hit the beat and your mind is rekt

The caption #REKT briefly flashes up on the screen behind.
MC Mascman flowing like the Bekk
(SFX: splash!)

Recognise I'm on the scene
EJay's my man, and he'll make you scream

(SFX: high-pitched girly squeal)
I'm the best you've ever seen
Got you wet, jet set and tasting cream

(SFX: gulp!)

Got it rocking for you tonight,
When I'm done you'll want me to come inside,
See? I make you my VIP
I'll make sure that it's all on and rocking right!

You're man's a bit pissed off

(SFX: grr....)
Mascman knows when it's all kicked off
Break a poser with glass to face

(SFX: glass breaks, manly scream of pain)
Now let's see the skin ripped off...

Lights back to green. Mascman breakdances during the chorus.

Lights back to red. Mascman is joined by a group of ladies who...well, let's just say they look like they're wearing belts rather than crop tops and skirts...

These flows I spit
Make those hits, no stopping this, oh no boo hiss,
I'm a villain with
Addiction to the girls in this, clubbers knowin' I'm the shit

Admit it, I got you steaming,

(SFX: kettle whistling)
Hot baseline that you're streaming,
You ain't got Masc's flow tho,

(SFX: toilet flushing)
What, thought that I don't know?

I'm a mouth that speaks evil and death,

(SFX: bell tolls)
Take you down without needing a breath,
Give you an F,
School your ass till you cry momma

(SFX: baby crying)
I'm more godly than Greg

Oh look, it's that #REKT hashtag again!

Pop a lyrical cap on this feelin'
(SFX: gunshot)
It's the ladies I'm healin'
So let's just say I'm about to go back stage
And make five hundred children

There aint a beat I can't cook first, the breakdown and the bitches, make you look worse.
I'm playing on the mic till the club bursts; Mascman, I was born with a bratwurst.
There aint a beat I can't cook first, the breakdown and the bitches, make you look worse.
I'm playing on the mic till the club bursts; Mascman, I was born with a bratwurst.

The ladies carry Mascman off stage. Lights back to green, Ejay emerges from behind the decks seemingly chasing after the girls.

I'm the DJ, DJ, DJ, Ejay, DJ, DJ, DJ, EJay

As EJay hits the final chorus, another group of scantily clad ladies carry him shoulder high and parade him around the stage, taking him out of view as he finishes the last line.

The music finishes, and #THANKSCAEN flashes up on the screen in the background.

Daniel on the left. Jasper on the right.

Live coverage of the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest in Caen, Normandy and Picardy with your hosts, Daniel Richards and Jasper Hunt.

J: Hello, welcome to the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest in Caen, Normandy and Picardy, I am Jasper Hunt.
D: And I am Daniel Richards!
J: So before the contest starts; let's talk about Quickenden, last year.
D: It was sad because only 34 nations participated with was a massive 13 nation drop, I believe?
J: Something like that. Why do you think that happened? Personally, I think it was because of us. The Brits.
D: Yeah, that could be a factor on why we had 34 nations, but about the same participated in Mister X and they are quite liked.
J: Never mind about that though, on top of the Britonish Hosting rights, we also won the contest for the first time, something many nations haven't done. Why do you think we won?
D: Well, no one can judge that really. We had a margin of 8 points, eight points which could've been made had we had another nation voting; so the overall result was close. Why we won? Because not only because we had the pressure - Hosting and 10th anniversary- but because we are Britonisea and we probably got tired of sending unsuccessful songs. And this comes after Britonisea got a disappointing 41st in the 40th contest. The lowest Britonisea has ever gotten. So to come first was a must really.
J: I didn't expect it but it came as a nice surprise. Now, we just need to maintain that. We might win, we might now, but after our win, the Britonish are more confident that we have the potential other nations have; and that's all that matters really. We got an award that not a lot - I say not a lot but not a lot of current nations have. And that was a great, pleasant gift from the WorldVision community. Thanks for that.
D: I believe it is time to start the contest...And BRNT has something to show us.

During the start

D: As the kids go through Caen with this annoying song they will soon come to the arena where the official passing of the WorldVision baton as Mya from Britonisea gives the flag to Normandy and Picardy. Annoyingly.
J: (2:52) And as the music changes, these bubbles of colour rumbles around the sky emphatically as the kids near the arena. The waving flags of many nations are seen as the arena is being seen from the inside. Truly magnificent. It is time for the Britonish Flag to be let down. Britonisea WorldVision 41 is now a thing of the past as Normandy and Picardy - hosts of the current World Hit Festival- gets ready to host the contest!
D: Our three hosts come out, one of which are hosts of the greenroom tonight.
J: Straight in to the opening Song we go!

Opening Song

J: Not sure about the singing, but that'll do to start the contest!
D: Yeah, good innit?
J: I enjoyed it to be fair. Now on to song one, a returning Nobreleon!

01- Nobreleon

D: Well, welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest. What did she say?
J: I am not sure, she started to fade away at the end, and I am not quite sure what the lyrics are. Because on the lyric sheet, they seem to go in a smaller font.
D: Crazy. This seemed like a God Like song, trying to hypnotise us or something; how descriptive.
J: Yeah, whatever. However, I think it was a bit, dramatic....
D: The end was...just...Let's move on.

02- Gregoryisgodistan

J: This song is not even funny, and breaks the barrier of rudeness.
D: *Laughs* Yeah. It's quite low, Gregoryisgodistan.
J: Can I see this doing well tonight? I am not sure however I would rather vote...DIVA.
D: DIVA was a horrible song we should block out, but ever since Estogium came to light, the songs are much better, disregarding the fact that they failed.
J: Yep. This song is about women being treated lowly and dying. Good luck.
D: Because the next song is very long, we have decided to show you some of Gregoryisgodistan's previous songs and 3 minutes before the song ends, we will show you the highlights of the song!

03- Santaclausisgodistan

//Gregoryisgodistan in the past//

J: Welcome back. Here are you highlights of the song from Santaclausisgodistan.

D: I think it has a nice tune, but sometimes he repeated the lines. So the song was lacking.
J: I agree. I am not one to judge, but it was...in other words, yuck.
D: Hm, I think we should move on before I go all Kalosia on this song.

04- Polkopia

D: Don't get me wrong. I love Polkopia. But, it was a tiny bit boring.
J: Yeah. I mean it is well written and well choreographed but, it was boring.
D: That's totally not the song we should go for.
J: Yeah, but they're Polkopia so they will get votes.
D: Sometimes I crave the day Polkopia becomes last.
J: Yeah, I need to kick a Polkopian in the shin.
D: You're that guy this year. *Sighs*
J: Next up is song number 5, Electrum Diplomatic Offices!! Whoop.

05- Electrum Diplomatic Offices

J: Oh my gosh! Thanks! This is what I needed! Something to cheer everyone up because so far, WorldVision is a bit of a drag.
D: I agree, Je pense that this was perfect for the occasion. We made fun of silly love generic songs.
J: Didn't Britonisea send that kind of song last year?
D: Well, no. We didn't. San Llera is next!

06- San Llera

D: This is a step back for San Llera. I thought that they were going to send a better song than the already amazing song they sent last year. But, obviously not. So sad.
J: I cry.
D: I know right.
J: San Llera, no swearing, little kids are watching this show.
D: Now, here we go to Ekoz. If they lose, they will be furious. Well to win, just send a great song then!
J: But, if Britonisea wasn't in the contest, I think that those 113 points would've been used elsewhere, and therefore Ekoz probably would've won.
D: Yeah, well, Ekoz should stop.
J: Stop what?
D: Being Ekoz.
J: How?
D: How about send a song without hype, and then snatch up. Don't even mention it. But hosting some international show, people get bored of hearing it and then people just don't vote an old song. If you get me.
J: Okay, I see.

07. Ekoz

D: Fifty shades of Gray or what!
J: It reminds me of our song, from Britonisea.
D: I am unsure about this song, it seems different.
J: I mean, I like the lyrics but the tune seems a bit, like, different.
D: I am not sure how to explain it to be honest!
J: Next up is The Sarian.

08. The Sarian

D: Next up is Krytenia.

09. Krytenia

D: Well...That was that.
J: Different?
D: Yep, certainly. It was something different. Something interesting. Something I wouldn't expect from these lot, judging from WV41.
J: I liked their previous song better; we even gave them a 12!
D: Will they get a 12 this time?
J: You decide!

10. Frenline Delpha

11. Mister X

J: Boy bands are so not in these days.
D: I agree, I love the song however I am unsure they'll win. I am sorry.
J: I understand what you're thinking to be honest.
D: I am trying to hit the vote button but I can't. That's because lines aren't yet open!
J: Next up is Talvezout!

12. Talvezout

D: I am not so sure about this song, it is certainly something different, I don't really know how to describe it.
J: Yes, this song is quite different. It isn't bad at all, but it isn't good either. I think it is all the sounds at the same time. It sounds distorted.
D: I like the tune but I can't understand what she is saying. At the start I was wondering what I got myself in to.
J: It is quite interesting to go through both of our opinions because both opinions are similar yet so different.
D: Anyways, next is two songs from Baenen Unionee. If you haven't caught up, there is no such thing as The Grand British Kingdom anymore and has been replaced by Baenen Unionee.
J: Yeah, the ABEN Union. Apparently, they both have great songs for this edition and hopefully both can finish in a top 10 finish; something nearly achieved in '39 when Estogium came 12th and Aloquirbe came 8th!

13. Aloquirbe

J: That was the first of the powerful songs that Baenen Unionee are sending this time around. And this has gone down very well, in my honest opinion.
D: Yeah, I do think that it went very well. Aloquirbe should hopefully be in medal contentions are at least aiming to smash their record of 92 points, hopefully.
J: Aloquirbe has done themselves very well. And even though ANTba is broadcasting the contest in Caen, it is also broadcasting on the UCRTV Channel so we have a few thousands with us here. Which is a great thing!
D: Yep, I agree. Hello to the Aloquirbic fans!
J: Next up we have Britonisea, another Baenen Unionee member, and also, last year's winner. Are they going to retain their title?

14. Britonisea

D: Good song.
J: I agree, very good song. No lie, and I am not just saying that because I am Britonish.
D: I felt that song you know.
J: Hopefully we can do very well with this song, and possibly beat our record of 113 points?
D; Squeezing your luck there!
J and D : *Laughs*
D: Next up, Aigentir.

15. Aigentir

D: Well, I don't really know who these people are, and I am not really with electro-pop or whatever the genre is.
J: Mixing up the languages there. Interesting.
D: You know what; great effort. Very good. However, I do think that you could've changed the style of music because I started to hear the fire alarms of my primary school.
J: It was a very electric feel in the arena tonight; but yes, the first thing I thought was "Evacuate". Other than that; great lyrics, great choreography and a main rival of Britonish and Aloquirbic hopes...So far.
D: Now, we move on to two nations with similar intentions.
J: Next up Volcanoc and The Sword Bloke!

16. Volcanoc

17. The Sword Bloke

D and J: *claps*
J: Finally. The Sword Bloke is finally understanding where they need to go in order to win the contest. Perfect type of song and definitely worth some of the Baenen Unionee points.
D: I don't think it was all that. Perfect lyrics with "My baby wants me home again, wants me home again after the final battle" as that could infer something else other than war, but then Shop Owner says "Slash someones throat" which ruins the song to be honest. I don't really know how to put this song in to words. It is great but at the same time, the lyrics are ridic. Shop Owner really needs to revise what he sings.
J: Especially as this is a family show. Welcome next act, Pala- Paddy- Para- Well, you can see the name on your screen. If you can't see, I am sorry.

18. Palaiologos II

J: What the hell is this Spanish Music? You know what, I don't really know what to say. The music is tiring. The lyrics are fine but the song is pretty meh.
D: I'd have to agree with you there. I am not in the mood for this genre of music. This isn't Palaiologos' fault but songs 16 to 23 are boring songs usually. Or songs with love. Or songs with ballads and all. One of those three categories. This song doesn't enter any of these.
J: Oh really?
D: Yep. Song 19, Esta Lloviendo.

19. Esta Lloviendo

D: No baby. I am just freaking out. Where is Esta Lloviendo!!
J: I don't know; but I miss Esta Lloviendo, a lot. I have been wondering where Esta Lloviendo has been.
D: it's not bad at all though. I see some points going to them.
J: Next song is...
D: KALOSIA
J: Now Daniel, let's calm down.
D: No I am not going to calm down. Kalosia nearly ruined my carer so when I heard they were bidding to host I was getting my dictionary up because I wanted to cuss them, or even jump on the stage and slag them off or something special. Rude people. When we hosted last edition, apparently lots of Kalosians were unhappy, and whether that died out or not; I don't buy in to that sort of stuff. I was being critical of the contest Kalosia hosted because I knew we can do better; and we did.
J: Okay, Let's calm down once again. Kalosia isn't that bad.
D: Yeah, well their song is called Goodbye to Yesterday, however, I wouldn't mind saying Goodbye to Kalosia.
J: Anger Issues. Next up; Kalosia with Goodbye to Yesterday.

20- Kalosia

J: Urgh...
D: Urgh...This is what I expect from Kalosia. This.
J: I don't really have anything to say about this song...other than it's...it's
D: Horr-
J: Magnificent and Beautiful!
D: WHAT? This song needs a base, Goodbye to Kalosia, next up is Electrum. You know, Electrum is one of my favourite places to go. I go Electrum ever summer! I am certainly going to go to Electrum if they win their Olympic Bid. Vote for Electrum #Vote4Electrum!

21. Electrum

J: Electrum, what is this?
D: He's alright looking isn't he *Giggles*
J: This is more Missus X than Electrum, Electrum! Come on! Dude! EDO, was better.
D: #Vote4Electrum! Next up it is Izmedu. Interesting song Electrum. Good.

22. Izemdu

D: Another siren song again. *Sigh*
J: Izmedu always seems to do well in WorldVision, they always seem to know what to do but their 41st WorldVision entry was better.
D: I agree; yes, it didn't do as good as Normandy and Picardy - there main rival - but, I- I just don't know.
J: I have nothing more to say, but good.
D: Up next is Dreamplanet with an apparent better song that the lamp post lady last edition.
J: I liked the lamp post lady!

23. Dreamplanet

J: And we've gone back to Electrum. But this is like an updated version! I like it.
D: I like it too! I mean there needs to be more stage directions. But other than that great song!
J: 12 points?
D: We will have to see, but The Britonish-Dreamplanet Vote might just say so tonight!
J: It's actually the best song tonight. In terms of sound.

24. Gim

D: YAAAS!!! MAJOR IMPROVEMENT GIM! YES!
J: This is a song! 12 points! YES!
D: This may not give Dreamplanet 12 points!
J: This is a great song.
D: This got the WV on their feet! Great song!
J: And now it's over.
D: I would be very happy if they took our crown of us.
J: The hosts are next and let's hope a slow boring song isn't next. Normandy and Picardy!

25. Normandy and Picardy

J: They could win, they could win.
D: Especially with hosts advantage. When last did the host get bad points?
J: This is quite good. But Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb is still in my head.
D: This is a great improvement, and certainly an improvement since the long drag of WorldVision 41.
J: I agree. WV had slow songs, including ours.
D: People are picking up the pace. So if they don't get top 10, this would really dent what is expected of a winner. Next up is Attican Republic, who think they're performing 25th when they're not.

26. Attican Republic

J: This is an interesting song. I don't like the language, a mal side of this song.
D: Me neither.
J: This song is matching the other fast songs; I think maybe Britonisea needs to pick up the pace!
D: Interesting. I know the song for next year, or the list of options and they look fascinating. But will Britonisea be one of them performing?

27. Associated Godlands

D: No, this ruins the 27th winning spot. Just no. How are they even allowed to send the same song? This is just being lazy!
J: In it! Mix up the lyrics. Why not say "Jesus, oh the lord, Praise him"
D: This is just tedious.
J: Next up. Beeeegeeeen!

28. Bloodbath Generation

J: Hey!
D: Yeah.
J: The sun is setting.
D: And Summer is winding down.
J: I love songs which have lovely pathetic fallacy!
D: This song is fast, gheez, these songs these editions.
J: Nice one, Bloodbath Generation. This does have medal contentions.
D: Next up it is Monaro Pingas.

29. Monaeroglisseurest Pleindanguilles

D: Sorry for calling them Monaro Pingas but, it's too long to bother saying! Other than that...
J: It's not bad. It does go back to slow songs.
D: Reminds me of Kalosia.
J: I know right! So sad! It does get better.

30. Arioslavia

J: Rock? The beginning was so full.
D: It does have a great beat and all that. I like it. It's a bit God-Like.
J: I don't mind it!
D: It's okay!
J: Next up, Viis Kontaa

31. Viis Kontaa

D: I can't understand this. Zero points!
J: Alright! There may be some language barrier, but come on, it's a fast song.
D: Reminds me of the previous song!
J: We need to have slow ratings starting from next WorldVision.
D: Francilie.

32. Francilie

D: Heard before. Still amazing!
J: I love this type of song! It's great! Whoop!
D: I mean, Gim was better but this is close 5th!
J: Exactly!

33. Missus X

J: Just wow. I have nothing to say..."Next time won't you sing with me"
D: Why didn't he end with Z. But M?
J: He be crazy! Haha.
D: Anyways...No. Just no.

11 MISTER X

Entourage - "My Only".
Tune: One Direction - "One Thing"
.

Entourage are a four-piece boyband, and are back in the WorldVision Song Contest once more. They've sung several times for Mister X, but they feel that this is their time.

They are wearing black leather trousers, and distinct jumpers - one blue, one red, one green, and one yellow. They are standing on a giant record, which spins around with the four on it at equal points away from one other, facing outward. There's a solitary spotlight upon this record and nothing else.

As the short introduction finishes, the record is spinning so that the person whose line it is is facing the front of the audience:

You went out of my life
But I need you back here,
Don't you leave me hanging-ing,
I'm broken and can't breathe.

Shock me, 'cause you're my high,
I need you tonight,
You will never be free,
'Cause you are my baby.

Any other day now,
I will get to meet you, you see,
And I'm crying out for you now,
'Cause you are my only.

The four then jump off the record and go to the front of the stage and sing in unison for the chorus:

So
Come here, come here, come into my bed,
But you think I'm a cheat, you said,
I don't, I don't, don't know what you're on,
But you are my only, yeah:

You are my only!

They then clamber back onto the record which starts spinning around once more.

Now I'm finding you hot,
But do you like me at all?
If you leave then I'll come back for you,
All day I'm here for you.

Come here, come here, come out of your home,
So that I can see you soon,
I don't, I don't, don't know what you're on,
But you are my only, yeah:
You are my only!

The four of them then go down into the audience and pace around drumming up support, high-fiving the audience as they go.

(Wooooooooooooooooah)
(Wooooooooooooooooah)
(Wooooooooooooooooah)
You are my only!

They run back to the stage as it goes pitch black, save for one solitary spotlight on one of the four.

Come here, come here, come into my bed,
But you think I'm a cheat, you said,

The lights burst back on.

So
Come here, come here, come into my bed,
But you think I'm a cheat, you said,
I don't, I don't, don't know what you're on,
But you are my only, yeah:

Come here, come here, come out of your home,
So that I can see you soon,
I don't, I don't, don't know what you're on,
But you are my only, yeah:
You are my only!

The song finishes and they punch the air in unison to thunderous applause.

12 - MODERN TEARS, TE ACUERDO
To the tune of Arcade Fire's "Poupee de Cire, Poupee de Son"

The stage is dark, with the group standing center stage. Six small, standing circular screens stand behind the group; half of them show a mirror and the other half are showing this. When the song starts, the mirror screens change from the mirror to the group playing onstage, at the same time.

Te recuerdo, recuerdo todas tus cosas
Recuerdo sus movimientos, sus toques fugaces
Te recuerdo, te amo
Aún veo tus dulces besos y tu dulce pierde
Todos jugando en una pantalla pequeña
Te recuerdo, te amo

Michelle, who is the lead singer of the song, is standing away from the rest of the group. The screens showing the group playing now change to just showing Michelle.

¿Por qué no me dices antes?
Que ibas a ir
No puedo culparla sin embargo
Tenías una razón

The screens showing the neon book fade out, with the screens showing Michelle singing now changing to the neon book. As the neon books flickers and changes pages, it jumps from screen to screen. Michelle herself is waking backwards slightly, away from the audience.

Todavía amo sus ojos y manos
Y todos su diminuto
Te acuerdo, te amo
Me dijeron que moriste, pero tenía esperanza
Amor siempre podría sobrevivir
Oh, te recuerdo, te amo

During the instrumental break, all of the lights in the arena go out as the clothes the group is wearing light up, having been outlined in LEDs.

¿Por qué no me dices antes?
Que ibas a ir
No puedo culparla sin embargo
Tenías una razón

The flickery, neon book screens now fade out. Michelle is now standing with her fellow band mates, still singing.

Solo que todavía a veces respiro
Con la esperanza de que va a ser la última
Hacienda esto sin razón
Lo que sé sobre la vida o amor
Pero todavía me acuerdo de ti, te amo
A pesar de se han ido
Todavía te quiero

The screens now change back to their original images, with them fading out as the end of the song nears.

Tal vez un día te encuentro
Te recuerdo, te amo
Todavía te tengo esperanza
A te recuerdo, te amo

Thank you Caen, and have a good night! ¡Gracias Caén!

*Note: The song as a whole is a reference to the famous Talvezian movie "Te Acuerdo". Indeed, several of the lines in the song are taken straight from the movie, most notably the chorus. The book and movie itself deal with the death of the narrator's lover, and her inability to let it go.

°: This part is not from the movie, but from the novel the movie was adapted from.

I remember you, I remember all your things
I remember your moves, your fleeting touches
I remember you, I love you
I still see your sweet kisses and your sweet loses
All playing on a tiny screen
I remember you, I love you

Why didn't you tell me before?
That you were going to go
I can't blame you however
You had a reason

I still love your eyes and hands
And all your tiny strings
I remember you, I love you
They always told me that you died, but I held hope
Love might always survive
Oh, I remember you, I love you

Why didn't you tell me before?
That you were going to go
I can't blame you however
You had a reason

Alone I still sometimes breathe°
Hoping that it'll be your last
Doing this without reason
What do I know about life or love
But yet I remember you, I love you
Even though you are gone
I still love you

Maybe one day I'll meet you
I remember you, I love you
I'll still hold onto hope
I'll remember you, love you

Aloquirbe (Baenen Unionee)

It's never the right summertime
Harry Hayes
Years & Years - SHINE

Never heard of Harry Hayes? Well let me tell you all about him. Harry Hayes though representing Aloquirbe was born Estogium and is an Estoge citizen. Why is he participating as Aloquirbe you may ask? Well this is because of Baenen Unionee's new show that incorporates Nightom, Estogium, Aloquirbe and Britonisea's talents in to one and the public can vote for their winner, who will represent Aloquirbe. And of course, only the Aloquirbic population can vote for who represents them. The song contest is called Fehstivalhen which means Party in English or less accurately Festival. ANTba, the broadcasters for Aloquirbe for the WorldVision Song Contest in Caen, Normandy and PIcardy has stated that next time they will keep Fehstivalhen strictly Aloquirbic as the show received numerous complaints about other nations not following the "You Lose, You're out" rule that the Union put in place for future contests and the fact that two Britonish Acts would represent represent the Union; which is unfair. Harry Hayes apologises out of his way for this in this that he sent on Brittwit.

TheHarryHayes_04: Sorry for the confusion everyone, and eventhough I am not Aloquirbic, I wouldn't fail. #Going for the win.

However that comment was left with some hurtful comments that changed Harry Hayes' decision to participate in the contest. ANTba encouraged him to carry on learning the song and the choreography and put on a show to place the haters to rest. And Harry decided to do so. "You learn something new every day" says Harry Hayes a few days before the finals. "I am going through a marvelous journey, that only a few people approve of, and hopefully, I can change people's opinions. For the good!"

Harry Hayes was born in Darlington, a previous bid city for the Estoge delegation. Darlington is known for having an underground city and underground arena; a thing that will come to light in the coming years as Estogium is pushed to bid for the contest. However, Harry Hayes was none for having great musical talent, perfect teeth and a beautiful smile. He was also pretty smart in Mathematics, English and Science, his core subjects for his KEWQAE's in Estogium. However, he was moved to Aloquirbe. One can be a Britonish Citizen living in Aloquirbe for example, so he decided that he wasn't going to change his nationality, yet his parents did. He took his ALOQAE (KEWQAE in Aloquuirbe) and passed eight of them, one of them were Music. He didn't however take further music or anything. He dropped out of school and decided to pursue his dream of being a musician. And so he did. Auditioning for everything, Harry Hayes landed a job within the Musical industries and was the star of "If Only", An Aloquirbic Musical. He then quit that two years later to achieve a goal, to become global. Posting lots of music videos weren't enough for Harry Hayes who then decided to tour internationally before touring his own region. "With Harry," started his mother as we interviewed her, "His career was too rushed. He came in to it hard, and he came out of it hard."

Harry Hayes then joined Fehstivalhen of which he won and the reason why he is participating in this contest.

Italics- Backing singers.

He was called to the stage and his heart skipped a beat. He then ran to the stage and greeted the two drummers, two of his friends from Aloquirbe. He then went in to position as his VT ended.

The lights dimmed as the first verse started. Harry Hayes was almost whispering in to the mic, the microphone was silver and shimmered in the lights of the audience. The stage was quite murky and the camera was on his face, suddenly he opened his eyes.

Beating on the metal pane, away from the humane
The right way of passage, rumble through the foliage.
Banging for a way through, trying to get to you,
Promises that when I'll get out, I will feel a hot summers day
Oo-oo-Oh, No-oo-oo-oh, Bitting my tongue, I pushed harder.
Oo-oo-Oh, No-oo-oo-oh, And when I got out, rain confronted me.

There was a heart beat sound over the music created by two drummers who came on stage. They looked aimlessly in the audience as Harry looked straight inside the camera. He fixed his suit and tie as he pointed at the camera. The first chorus then started as the music got louder.

Climb to the top, hear the pulse of the chymes.
It's never the right summer time.
Through mid-July, the heat's just a mime,
I'd bet a dime, don't commit the crime,

Never the right summer time,
It's never the prime time,

It's never the right summer time,
I would bet a dime, don't commit the crime,

It's never the right summer time.
It's never the right summer time.

The heat is just a mime
It's never the right summer time.

The repetition of the word "Summer time" was met with a sudden change of colour of the stage. One minute the stage was green and the next minute, it was green which soon turned to yellow following the colour cycle. He then walked forwards with the drummer who dispersed down on to the stage floor by jumping of the stage. The wind machines turned on as he got on his knees for the next verse. Smoke machines were also on but on the lowest setting so we can still see him.

Walking through the city streets, drenched and on my knees.
I realised why I was once hidden away from this place.
People walking past me, so militaristic.
I realised why I decided it wasn't the right time.
Oo-oo-Oh, No-oo-oo-oh, Bitting my tongue, I pushed harder.
Oo-oo-Oh, No-oo-oo-oh, And when I got out, rain confronted me.

Suddenly, he got lost in the smoke machine when the drummers, who hid under the stage, jumped up from under the stage and were launched a metre in the air. Harry then stood up as the stage turned an array of colours matching what happened in the first verse. He was almost squinting at the camera but he showed the camera why he is known for his teeth. The camera then did a wide shot of the audience who where all waving their flags of their respective nations they're supporting.

Climb to the top, hear the pulse of the chymes.
It's never the right summer time.
Through mid-July, the heat's just a mime,
I'd bet a dime, don't commit the crime,

The stage then went mad colours as the strobe effects went crazy across the arena. It was almost as if someone hacked in to the systems in Normandy and Picardy. Was the contest abruptly hacked? No. The camera then looked at Harry who acted as though he didn't know where he was and he pretended that invisible people where pushing him about.

Running away from here, my eyes closed shut,
Walked through any obstacles, that may block our love.
Tomorrow will never come, I wanted to go home,
But it isn't the same, the same.

Something that has been done before, however we decided to do it again. We then had rain fall on to Harry and the drummers as indoor sparklers went crazy on stage. The strobe lights then slowly appeared on the stage plunging the arena in to darkness with the stage lighting similar to a pearl at the bottom of the dark sea. He was ready to sing that last chorus and he looked deep in to the camera.

Climb to the top, hear the pulse of the chymes.
It's never the right summer time.
Through mid-July, the heat's just a mime,
I'd bet a dime, don't commit the crime,

Never the right summer time,
It's never the prime time,
It's never the right summer time,

I would bet a dime, don't commit the crime,
It's never the right summer time. Summertime
It's never the right summer time. Summertime

The heat is just a mime

It's never the right summer time.

The music stops as there is a sudden pause. He then looks in to the camera as everything else is frozen.

It's never the right summer time

The crowd then cheered as Harry then took a bow and look in to the audience raising his shiny microphone in the air. The camera shot faded out as he shouted "Thanks Caen, thanks Baenen Unionee and thanks WorldVision!"

Abanta Fonely was waiting to get on stage and the camera shot her waving with the Britonish Flag behind her back.

Following the surprising Britonish win, it would be a shame if Britonisea repeats the pattern of "Do well, fall next" for the WorldVision Song Contest held here in XX. This edition, it seems many nations are trying to pull their best stock out to see whether they can do a Britonisea (Winning on their 10th anniversary) and joined the halls of WorldVision Winners. Eventhough Britonisea won't be at the forefront of this edition and probably will be an outcast by other, more successful nations, the 41st, 38th and 35th contests gave the Britonish public a bit of hope and glee that we can maintain a top 10 finish, a finish many nations have done."Many winning nations, but Britonisea, has successfully maintain a top 10 finish almost effortlessly, and some nations such as Ekoz seems to have their habitat in the top 10. For Britonisea to do this, it would be a great deal for us. Winning twice in a row would be great, however knowing we can maintain a top 10 finish other than 1st would be better. Only time can tell" says WorldVision expert Greg Hughes who is also in charge of the Britonish Votes. "Due to the sudden increase on people from Britonisea watching the contest, and a hype about doing well in the contest, we has to choose a song which is quite likely to do well in the contest. A similar song to this was sent in 35, the first time we done well.So hopefully, Abanta will give us something great!"

Abanta Fonely is a woman from Boschke, one of a former bidding city to host the 36th WorldVision Song Contest. Abanta grew up in the hustle and bustle of winter life and constant parades and opening ceremonies. She described her childhood as "a stadium of joy" as Boschke gets thrusted in winter sports; more usually than Eaux. Abanta Fonely became fond of music, something that an ordinary child from Boschke wouldn't really like. She was one for 14 children in her class, and 1 of 30 children overall doing a music KEWQAE. During her KEWQAE course, big companies such as BVC recognised her talent and later asked her to join a temporary show, and that show was a singing show, and Abanta would go round to nurseries and teach them how to sing and at the end, the public would vote for the best nursery and that winning nursery would win £2 million britoes for redevelopment. Abanta won the contest and the nursery- a year upon arrival- became a nursery and reception and Key Stage 1 school, or "Junior Lower School" which is the correct terminology. She then took her final music course scoring 120/130 overall (Individual - Ensemble - Comprehension - Composing) which means she got an A1 (Highest score is A*).

Taking her A Levels, she decided to take Music, Drama, Dance and Science. All of which she passed and after she went to university to study further Music and further Music, she started to finally clench what it meant to be a singer and by the time she was 21, and left education, she decided to sing around Baenen Unionee and make her music heard. It was a very hard thing for her to do because other artists such as Tess Philipa dominated the charts and Abanta Fonely was just a flash of the pan performer. However, she decided to fight back. By the time she met her husband, Quincey Tuningball, who they have two children with born three years later, Abanta became the Mother of Singing and the Mother of Love as she song eye-watering songs which people could relate to. This turned out to be very successful for her as her songs topped the chart for the first time. By the time she was 26, she was touring around the Union of Confederate Regions and The Shaderan Place before finally going internationally when she was 27. Now she is 29, edging on to 30 after the 42nd contest.

After hearing the Britonish hosting, she decided that she would like to be like Mya Richardson, who is actually younger yet more successful than Abanta. She decided to make a deal to Brityunik Vefecosoin Cairkovoin, and although the deal was great for the Britonish leading TV Channel, it was UCRTV that was broadcasting this edition. She then went to UCRTV Headquarters where things were ran differently. She had to go through some sort of internal competition where they have to perform and sing in front of an audience of 5,000 in one of those old type arenas. The decision was made by the judges - internally without public opinion - that Abanta would be suitable to participate in the world's largest song contest. "Abanta won with dignity, she did." says one member of the public. However, with praise comes controversy. People said that Abanta shouldn't deserve to go through as she is a pro and it is time for younger, fresher singers to participate not just as Britonisea but any nation within Baenen Unionee. Abanta expressed that she is happy that she won and that the public should have more faith in her winning the contest; or maintaining that needed top tenth place.

A lot of work had to be done after she was picked. She had to sort out her choreography for the contest, and she had to sing her type of song. Her song that she picked is expect to do quite well, hopefully patching up the disastrous 41st place. "It's coming along smoothly" she stated. "However, nothing will be given away." she also said walking past the cameras. There has been speculations that the flying moon will return upon it's debut in Aloquirbe's performance in WorldVision 37 in Regica. Though this is not true.

A few days before this performance, people such as Mya has been congratulating her to do well, and well she will do.

As the Aloquirbic entry finished, the VT of Britonisea started. Abanta then got ready to go on the stage, she walked swiftly to the stage and went to middle of the stage. The VT Finished.

On the back of the stage were a group of men and women with instruments heard in the intro of the song. The camera were on the group first as the song started. The audience cheered as Abanta appeared in the camera shot. There were layers of hands over her eyes. The hands were moving in a swaying action, not too fast, not too slow but it did match the beat of the song. She then raised the microphone to her face as she began to sing in to it. The layers of hands were still over her eyes.

Hide and Seek
A game we've playing here.
Dry, so deep
My wounds still exposed.

The camera then flashed from a shot of the stage back to the eyes of Abanta, of which was being covered by hands. Two of those hands were removed and the camera moved back so it wasn't in her face as much. You could see that she was sitting in a chair, wearing a rose red dress which came down to her shins with a nice white underlay on. Her hair was similar to the newspaper shot and she was wearing quite high high-heels shoes. The stage then turned a dark rose which some say matched the colour of her dress.

I might be talking nonsense
But I know,
That one day you'll lose me,
Away you go.

The song started to go towards a climax, a turning point. However, the viewer would have to wait a bit before such thing happens. With the remaining hands being move out of the way, you could tell that she was closing her eyes under their hands. She then opened her eyes of which lit up with glee and excitement as she looked upon the thousands of people within the arena. She gave the camera a cheeky smile as the stage's screen showed a picture of a field, a field which will become useful for the next part of the song.

Look out to the pier
Anoint by God's hand
Now look down deep inside of me.
Swept by Nature's sands.

When she sung about the pier she walked towards the crowd and pointed out as a Mexican-Wave was created by some of the audience. And when she kept on singing about her feelings deep within her, she touched her stomach and made a sweep motion as if her feelings disappeared instantly. The chorus was upon her and she was getting ready to sing the first peak of a momentous mountain.

Restart our flames,
They've have burnt out.
Let's join our lanes.
We've turned down the wrong route.
Reset my pain,
Let us soar through the sky.
Spring's back again,
Blossom through the wind.
A Step at a time.

Throughout that chorus, a lot of things happened with the stage and the lights. The arena turned a light blue when she sang about the sky, and when she did, the wind machines started. When she started to speak about spring, the arena turned a sweet pink colour. Petals then fell from the sky in a slow motion as if she was running through a Japanese Blossom Street.

Each time we breath,
Each moment that we blink,
Each time we speak,
A new being is born for us.
They will lead us when,
We're grey and old.
But let's think about now,
Our time ain't up, no.

The people with the instruments then got up and started to circle around her, and she clutched out to the audience, trying to reach for them. The camera then went around her as her eyes followed the camera. When she spoke about breathing, the people with the instruments stopped and covered her mouth, when she spoke about blinking they then covered her eyes, similarly to how they did it earlier. Then when she spoke about speaking they covered her mouth, but not tight enough for her not to sing. As she kept on singing, they then mimicked her words through action. For Example, when she spoke about being grey and old, the people with the instruments started to move in a slow movement. Frantic Assembly.

Look out to the pier,
Blessed by natures hand.
Now look down deep inside of me,
I realised who I am.

The song was then going to a climax again, another peak. She wasn't singing to the fullest here because she was weary that she would break her voice before finally finishing the song in less than one minute. She walked a bit forward as the people with the instruments walked towards her. She then looked back only to find them on the floor sitting down, though still near her.

Restart our flames,
They've have burnt out.
Let's join our lanes.
We've turned down the wrong route.
Reset my pain,
Let us soar through the sky.
Spring's back again,
Blossom through the wind.
A Step at a time.

Something was created here that matched the first chorus, however the difference here was that she was using her voice a bit more. The Aloquirbic song really affected her and so she wanted to do better than them; for the sake of Britonisea. She then moved side to side with the music and smiled at the camera, of which showed a quick shot of the audience.

I know you may not want to,
And that is fine.
You make think I don't like you,
That's a lie.
What do you think would benefit us?
Love?

The music became quieter, to the point where it seemed like Abanta was singing alone without the backing of the instrumentals. The camera then came up to her face and with the microphone at hand, she sang towards the camera, but still interacting with the audience at the same time.

Restart our flames,
They've have burnt out.
Let's join our lanes. (la..lanes)
We've turned down the wrong route.
Reset my pain, (my pain)
Let us soar through the sky.
Spring's back again,
Blossom through the wind.
A step at a time.

As she sang the last chorus, which was a mouthful, sparklers were on to represent the restarting of her flames, and when she spoke about rejoining her lanes, all of the people with the instruments then joined hands and went in line with the Abanta. She sang the last line as the line move a step forward and then bowed. "Thanks Caen! Merci! Thank you WorldVision!" she then walked off the stage in an orderly line, and as she got off the stage she witnessed the next act getting ready. She smiled and returned to the greenroom where she sat in her designated area. She puffed out and she was ready to listen on, hoping she did enough to do well.

15. Aigéantir

Token Ocean - All I Want Is You
Language: English/Aigéantiran Celtic (Irish)
Tune: Dreams

As a first-time entry for nation and band, the popular Token Ocean, a female synthpop group, made up of members Betrys Cassidy (Vocals/Keyboard), Murphy Allaway (Vocals/Guitar), and Gwennith Hashimoto (Drums) has had to pull out all the stops to ensure that they put their nation on the WorldVision map. The threesome first formed the band when they met in university, playing wherever they could as a way to pay for their education, until they were picked up by Royal Records a year ago. With their debut album release Born a Swimmer, they've managed to hold the number one spot on the chart for almost 6 weeks for their song "All I Want Is You". The song was written by Bethrys about her husband, Sean, whom had been a long-time friend, and whom she had regrettably strung along until she finally came to terms with her true feelings for him. The name of the band refers to the fact that Aigéantir is an archipelago, and therefore is surrounded by one single ocean.

Vocals:
Betrys - Blue
Both Betrys and Murphy - Black (White if you use Rift interface)

The stage is dark as Murphy's voice can be heard holding a single note, and the back of the stage is lit up with pyrotechnics that flow gently from the ceiling to the ground, like a waterfall Betrys starts playing the recognizable synth rift to their well-known song, and it is at this point that the pryotechnics stop, and the screens behind the women start showing scenes of timelapse cityscapes of some of the main cities of Aigéantir (Turn off audio and start playing this video as the instrumental for the music track begins for best results).

The instrumental continues as Murphy and Gwennith come in on guitar and drums. It's at this point that Betrys joins with her voice, as the musicians are all finally lit with spotlights. The three are dressed similar as they are in the above photos, Betrys with a low cut tank top and high-waist pants, Murphy with a jacket with the sleeves rolled to the elbows over a t-shirt, wearing bleached jeans with colourful grafiti designs down the legs, and Gwennith wearing a leopard print jacket over a red shirt, short shorts and black stockings that come to her knees:

Want is you (x22)
(In rising audibility)

All my life, I never let you stay,
I hid my feelings away.

Now it’s true, I don’t know what to do,
I can’t help needing you.

I may have lead you on before, but now know I can be sure,
You’re presence makes me whole.
And then I look inside and see, the problem here is only me,
I can’t deny your pull.

As the music crescendos, the stage lights also begin to strobe and move more wildly.

I want you, it’s something I can’t ignore,
Something I can’t ignore.

I dream of you, I hope you want me too,
I hope you love me too.

And now I tell you honestly, I am yours eternally.
The one who sets me free.
You’re gentle spirit is hard to find, so understanding and so kind;
You're everything to me.

At this point the spotlights dim, the women being illuminated mainly by the coloured stage lights, which stopped moving across the stage to hold a fixed position.

All my life,
I never let you stay,
I hid my feelings away.

What can I do,
I hope you love me too,
'Cause all I want is you,
Want is you. (x 12)

Ba mhaith leat go bhfuil gach Ba mhaith liom gach mian liom tú (x 1)
Ba mhaith leat go bhfuil gach Ba mhaith liom gach mian liom tú (x 3)
(Translation: Want you, all I want, all I want is you)

At this point the images of the timelapse cityscape are once again focused on, as the women are silhouetted as they sing.

Want is you. (x 30)

As the instrumental ceases, and Betrys sings unaccompanied, the spotlights once again illuminate the women, with the pyrotechnic waterfall in the background.

What can I do,
I hope you love me too,
'Cause all I want is you,
Want is you.

As Betrys finishes, the timelapse images cease, and the stage fades to black, with the women silhouetted by the pyrotechnic waterfall effect. As the crowd reacts, the stage is lit again, as Betrys, Murphy, and Gwennith take a bow. "Go raibh maith agaibh, thank you Caen, and oidhche mhath, have a good evening!", Betrys announces to the crowd, as the three women move off stage.

16. Volcanoc
Mozar Chalkon & f.a.l.k.o.n - I Do This
Languages: English, Volcanic
Tune: Loukas Yiorkas & Stereo Mike - Watch My Dance

After the postcard, Mozar & f.a.l.k.o.n are appearing onstage with 4 male backing dancers. The stage's background is a ring of fire. f.a.l.k.o.n is rapping along in English, while Volcanic 'The Voice of Volcanoc' winner Mozar Chalkon is singing the choruses in Volcanic. The song starts, as the 4 backing dancers approach f.a.l.k.o.n.

Bold = Mozar Chalkon, non bold = f.a.l.k.o.n

You acting like an idiot all of the time, even though it's you and me
I don't care if we break up, you're the one who never got away.
My life isn't just sticks and stones, it's thunder and ice.
I do this stuff you tell me to do and you decide it's not your time of day.

My fire ring moves everywhere, girl and I'm breaking up
I never remember you again, you don't need my care at all
Who cares if you find another boy, they'll hate you the same
BOTH: Ebojo lepta, if dot her is ta!
Do I care about you, no I really do not!

Mozar throws his microphone up in the air, then starts singing.

Dot is tee day en Mardi is krelo
Apten I læpfan halo din tago!
Oskima Tasman Fenix to nero
Epit uk gratin halo yip nago!

f.a.l.k.o.n backflips back to some cage at the back of the stage, where he goes in. He is slowly dragged to the top while he sings.

My life ain't so important you say I'm terrible all-round
My body makes you think I'm still lovin' you, to your disgust
My mouth hopes you never go on a good date again
You escape to some other country, they won't love you
This is your punishment for everything you did to me
BOTH: Ebojo lepta, if dot her is ta!
Do I care about you, no I really do not!

f.a.l.k.o.n jumps out of the cage, which is now about 15 metres in the air, without harming himself. Mozar starts off the chorus.

Dot is tee day en Mardi is krelo
Apten I læpfan halo din tago!
Oskima Tasman Fenix to nero
Epit uk gratin halo yip nago!

To the amazement of the crowd, the 4 backing dancers are doing scissor kicks, backflips, rolls & bicycle kicks in mid air. They do this for 32 seconds, as f.a.l.k.o.n & Mozar Chalkon clap them on. The fans then join the artists in standing up and clapping for the dancing quartet. By the time they've done the 32 seconds of dancing, with the backing track in the background, the fire ring in the background now covers the whole background, with the words pictured on it being;
Ebony da Lop e cab mel (I give up on you right now)
Mozar now sings the chorus for the final time. Every time he completes a sentence, fire launches out of the stage surrounding where they are.

Dot is tee day en Mardi is krelo!
Apten I læpfan halo din tago!
Oskima Tasman Fenix to nero!
Epit uk gratin halo yip nag-ooooooohhhhhh!!
Thank you Caen! Been to da Cane!!

Fire is now launching out of the stage as the song ends. f.a.l.k.o.n, Mozar & the 4 backing dancers now all bow together, ready to boo the Swordean act, which is next up.

There is no place in our home for you any more.
You'll struggle, not as if it's my care
Other countries don't want naughty girls!
There is no place in my heart, or brain for you

17. The Sword Bloke
Shop Owner, Maxky & Marcus Melton - The Last Time
Tune: One More Night - Maroon 5

After the postcard, the quartet appear onstage in a nighttime setting with small lights illuminating the stage. Shop Owner & Maxky Melton appear with their heads down, Marcus beginning the beat. The 'conductor' for the Swordean entry is actually One-Hit Jimson, planning to assassinate the show's director after some costly mistakes. He is introduced, though no orchestra is needed.

HOST: Please welcome some man who is apparently the conductor, Mr Yimsone Noel-Nocturna.

Yimsone/OHJ pulls out his gun, but quickly runs back to his commentary box. The song starts.

Bold= Shop Owner, Non-Bold= Maxky Melton

Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo...
Doo, Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo...
The war's going on, and I believe my skulls kill in' my bones
Sword in enemy's throat, grab my pistol, shoot Pete go into my car
They had too much, red juice they went kill in' their mates
Not that we really care, we were waiting for the announceme-ment, ooh damn yea!

My baby wants me home again, wants me home again after the final batt-oo!
We tie the enemies to the electric chair, electric chair so this war can be over-er!
My day job, killin' me again I hope my baby kisses me on the cheek hoo-hoo-hoot!
Then I can go slash someone's throat and I can make a love hoo-hoo-hoot!

Marcus makes a devil sign with his fingers and the backing dancers, who are mimicking 2 sides of a war throw their guns to the floor in time for the chorus.

So I get love and the enemy dies...
There nonsense will happen for the last ti-e-ime.
And I know they killed a million of us guys...
But they just killed someone for the last ti-e-ime.

The sides get their guns back up from the floor, and aim them at the audience.

I want them to die, but my fellow soldiers think I mean the opposite
Mom & Pop go urgh... At their son with no love who's makin' a mess...
I go slash their throats, my girl waitin' for me with bright red lipstick
The best time of my life, If they're dead now I can go home and rest, e-e-est...

My baby wants me home again, wants me home again after the final batt-oo!
(After the final battle!)
We tie the enemies to the electric chair, electric chair so this war can be over-er!
(War can be, over!)
My day job, killin' me again I hope my baby kisses me on the cheek hoo-hoo-hoot!
(Kisses me on the cheek hoo-hoo!)
Then I can go slash someone's throat and I can make a love hoo-hoo-hoot!

Maxky slides onto the floor, Shop Owner makes a gun sign with his fist and a backing dancer starts doing an air guitar, with the other 3 doing the air violin. The chorus begins.

So I get love and the enemy dies...
(Yea)
There nonsense will happen for the last ti-e-ime.
(Yea)
And I know they killed a million of us guys...
(Yea)
But they just killed someone for the last ti-e-ime.
(Yea-eh!)

The backing dancers start disco dancing as Marcus adds an electric guitar to the tune of the song.

I get love and the enemy, dies!
Yeah I get love and the enemy dies! (Ooh Damn!)
Yea I will get love and the enemy will die! (Oh yea, oh yea SO now!)

The backing dancer start nodding their heads constantly, while they do backflips.

My baby wants me home again, and then the enemies will die!
The enemies go on the chair, the war ends straight away! (Bop, bop!)
My day job smashes me again, I get kissed on the cheek! (Bop bop!)
Then I slash your throat and make a love, hoot hoot hoot, ooh damn, damn!

The chorus begins as Marcus gets up and starts dancing with the backing dancers.

So I get love and the enemy dies...
(They die, they die!)

There nonsense will happen for the last ti-e-ime.
(Last time, last time!)
And I know they killed a million of us guys...
(Yes, they killed a million off our side!)

But they just killed someone for the last ti-e-ime.
(Yea-eh, Yea-eh!)

Fireworks literally go off on stage, coloured red & white. Everyone starts disco dancing again.

So I get love and the enemy dies...
(Yea-eh, yea-eh!)
There nonsense will happen for the last ti-e-ime.
(Yea-eh, yea-eh!)

And I know they killed a million of us guys...
(Yea-eh, yea-eh!)
But they just killed someone for the last ti-e-ime.
(Yea-eh, yea-eh!

Next up, my love.

After Shop Owner says the last line, he shoots them with his finger gun, causing them to flop to the floor, to act out as if they were dead. Maxky's girlfriend, Seona Carter-Melton then runs on and kisses Maxky, Marcus & Shop Owner, with the 4 making a love sign with their fingers. Seona then runs off as authorities get her for streaking on. The backing dancers go back up to the front of the stage with Shop Owner & the Meltons as The Sword Bloke receives a standing ovation. Everyone bows. Shop Owner has supposedly found out that the bookies lowered him to $1.01 Normandy & Picardy currency to win, to his amazement. Shop Owner & One Hit Jimson go back to their commentary box, while everyone else goes to the green room, waiting to win and for SO & OHJ to come back down to have a party with them.

18. Klimatismós- With The Best of Authorial Intent

Tune

Klimatismós, whose name translates to "Air Conditioning," is an up and coming punk rock/electronic band that is quickly growing in popularity across Palaiologos. They were selected to perform at the Palaiologian WorldVision debut rather controversially, with some Palaiologians expecting them to make a good first impression of Palaiologian culture to the rest of the world, and others fearing that their inexperience could cause embarrassment. With The Best of Authorial Intent is venting over art losing it's meaning to attempts to appeal to as broad an audience as possible and artists who sacrifice serious work in the name of pandering to rich collectors who don't understand what they're buying.

As the song begins, lights illuminate the stage, revealing that it is decorated as a boardroom, complete with a table, potted plants, and a "view" of Caen, displayed on two large screens disguised as windows. 4 members of the band are on stage wearing suits, while the other 4 are playing out of view to the side.

Pace, pace, pace in the boardroom
They hired me to write a song
Mm, well, it's drivel
What am I doing wrong?

What am I doing wrong?
What are we doing wrong?
It should appeal to the entire Empire
So what am I doing wrong?

During the ~10 second long instrumental, the lights and screens turn off again, and each group of 4 switches places, while still playing. As the lights are turned back on, the new on-stage group are wearing posh outfits, the boardroom table is carted off and replaced with an easel with a painting, and the screens flash on, displaying a photo of Marcel Duchamp's Fountain and Pablo Picasso's Guernica. The comparison between the two is intentionally over the top.

Hey, take a quick look at my painting
Of corpses on the Viet Cong
With shading in negative spaces
But still I think something's wrong

Still I think something's wrong
Still I think something's wrong
It looks very deep and profound
So what am I doing wrong?

During the long instrumental, the lights are again shut off. The set is stripped entirely bare, except for the two screens, and the entire band goes on stage. Whatever parts of their costumes that they were able to take off while they played were taken off, with their regular clothes underneath. When the lights turn back on when the vocals begin again, the screens begin playing an incomprehensible cartoon animation, depicting animals morphing into guns, faces, Heaven and Hell, etc.

There's a novel that I am writing
I wrote while I smoked a bong
It's all about-- visions
But still there's clearly something wrong

Still there's clearly something wrong
Still there's clearly something wrong
It's all so surreal and int'resting
But, God, there's really something wrong

As the vocals trail off, the screens cycle through paintings, iconic movie clips, walls of text, and photographs, all too fast too process what is being shown before it changes.

I know that there is something wrong
I feel that there is something wrong
Perhaps it's an issue with lighting?
I'm sure there's really something wrong

As the vocals trail off, the lights and screens get darker.

I know that there is something wrong
I know that there is something wrong
Where is the fault in this song?
It's killing me there's something wrong

Finally, as the song finally ends, the lights and screens shut off, and Klimatismós exits.

TSBtv COMMENTARY with Shop Owner & One Hit Jimson

SO: Alright, welcome to the 23 Swordeans who own TVs, all Shop Owner VIPs.
OHJ: It's WVSC time!
SO: Yes it is.
OHJ: And it's also Red Button time!
SO: During the performances of TSB, Gregoryisgodistan, Mister X, Missus X, Kasanovakoratica, Santaclausisgodistan, Electrum Diplomatic Offices & Electrum, press the red button to have the camera moved forward,
OHJ: You'll get an awesome view of the Caen stage!
SO: For Volcanoc, press the black button where you can hear boos in the background.
OHJ: All the oldies who speak Ancient Swordean, which is about to become illegal, press the blue button.
SO: TSB are going up 17th, with Volcanoc a position before me.
BOTH: So 3.... 2.... 1.... Good luck to Shop Owner & The Meltons!
*chorus of The Last Time plays*

Opening
SO: Why does nobody send openings about death and punk rock?
OHJ: I really don't like this.
SO: Yay, it ended.

1. Nobroelen
OHJ: They trying to hypnotise us?
SO: Not once I execute them for attempting to hypnotise? Nah, it's not illegal.
OHJ: Meh, 4/10.

2. Gregoryisgodistan
SO: I know he's a liar. We fought against him in the Great World Cup 72 War. It was so fun blowing up parts of San Jose Guayabal. I like this song...
OHJ: And I do as well.

3. Santaclausisgodistan
*OHJ & SO are following along to the song*
SO: Current song of the night. Only lasted 6 hours.
OHJ: I be voting for this.
SO: Same.
OHJ: Next is Polkopia...

4. Polkopia
OHJ: Aren't these guys meant to be evil?
SO: Yes. They're one of the most violent nations in Esportiva, with TSB & GGS. Sigh... Another evil nation with non-evil WV songs.
OHJ: I can guarantee that I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING!!!!
SO: Next, please. I really don't like this.

5. Electrum Diplomatic Offices
OHJ: Generic love? Urgh... Haven't heard about that ever.
SO: I have, however. It's illegal in The Sword Bloke. Only that we're in Normandy & Picardy. Anyways, I don't like this.
OHJ: We may give this one point. But not 10 or 12 like the last few editions.
SO: DIRECTOR, GET OFF THIS SONG!

6. San Llera
SO: Last year it was about quarantine, this year... Worthy of another 6 Swordean points.
OHJ: Well done San Llera!
SO: But unfortunately, they're cutting to Ekoz.
BOTH: No.... NOT TO EKOZ! WE LIKE SAN LLERA!!!!!
SO: They went on.
OHJ: I'll order the director's coffin, perhaps?
SO: OK, lad. Here's $11.92. Buys him a spot in an Angelou mass grave!
OHJ: I'll go over during Ekoz and tell him of the good news... And I'll tell him to come here. SO: This is why you're commentating, Jimson.

7. Ekoz
SO: Odd.
OHJ: They overpromoted the song. I have 18 promo CDs, 23 promo towels, 7 promo wines, 14 promo chocolates, all supposedly about this song.
SO: I have the same quantity of stuff as well. Dunno why... Song's half-decent though.
OHJ: They just promote their songs way too much.

8. The Sarian

9. Krytenia
OHJ: Different song... BUT AMAZING!
SO: Needs some form of points!
OHJ: And if it doesn't come top 19. WE'L KILL THE VOTING COUNTERS!
SO: They have a pretty hard job. And no, no killing for now.
OHJ: OK. Well, what should we give this? Maybe urgh....
SO: Don't reveal how we vote, you idiot!

10. Frenline Delpha

11. Mister X
SO: Can't breathe?
OHJ: I like this!
SO: Maybe we should go into the audience and grab support...
OHJ: Last year when you did that, you killed 11 audience members and grabbed some of the scaffolding.
SO: I still have that in my government house.
OHJ: Back to the song... I like!
SO: Me too. And also, I killed the people while I was onstage. It got us a top 20 spot in our 6th try. So it isn't 3 tries, it's 6 tries.
OHJ: OK. Understandable.

12. Talvezout
OHJ: Seriously, I had to walk over from my chair to get the Promo book with a translation. The promo book!
SO: You done with yours? I collect those.
OHJ: OK. You keep it. It says the lyrics mean...
SO: OH NO IT IS SOME LOVE BALLAD!
OHJ: I know! I wish 100% of the songs on here would be about evil, death & puck rock.
SO: And me.
OHJ: Why you?
SO: Everyone loves a handsome, charming, fat dictator.
OHJ: And I guess some songs could be about Shop Owner.
SO: NEXT!

13. Aloquirbe
SO: I know it isn't summertime, boy. It's Swordean Spring time! *Shop Owner starts frolicking around the commentary box*
OHJ: Racing!
SO: Flowers!
OHJ: Puppies!
SO: I love puppies!
OHJ: Me me! I want a puppy! And a bunny! And a... DAISY!!!!
SO: Did you like the song?
OHJ: Not really. But I like puppies! And I hate, hate, hate summer!
SO: Puppies!
OHJ: Daffodil!

14. Britonisea
SO: Puppies!
OHJ: Sunflower!
SO: Bunnies!
OHJ: OK. I'm about to give you your medication. Let's SHUT UP AND GIVE BRITONISEA SOME FEEDBACK!
SO: *sob* But... The puppies.
OHJ: Give them some feedback then we can bounce around the commentary box. I think this isn't going to make the top 20.
SO: Yea, same. Not our type of music.
OHJ: Now... PUPPY!
SO: DAISY!
OHJ: KITTY!
SO: COW!

15. Aigeantir
SO: OK, so I stiopped bouncing around by orders of the director, who was hearing noise from above. Anyways, this song's so repetitive, the singer sounds like a dying cow.
OHJ: Do any boys in here want 'em?
SO: No, of course not. Who wants a dying cow? But I want her... So my doctors in Angelou Owner's Hospital can grab her voice box and burn it!
OHJ: Here, do you need your medication?
SO: No, I do not need medication... Medication evil...
OHJ: I thought you were evil. Anyways, Volcanoc's next up, then it's you. You wanna go?
SO: No, because going is bad... Very yes, bad...
Maxky Melton: You, SO, we better go. I got Doritos down at the green room for ya!
Marcus Melton: And OJ, you got that AK-47? We gonna shoot the director!
OHJ: Yes, I sure do. Afro wig on, gun in hand.
Maxky Melton: If we go down quick enough, we can boo the Volcanco act.
ALL: Yay! Booing the Volcanoc act!
SO: Now let's go grab that trophy with our song!

16. Volcanoc
SO: Just a reminder to put on your reality headphones, folks, and boo Volcanoc as loud as you can! The noise will be added to the boos in the arena!
OHJ: Their song cannot be commentated, but it can be aired. And it will be terrible.
SO: Isn't that the obvious, Jimson.
OHJ: Na, not for me.
SO: Of course it isn't, you dumb man.

17. The Sword Bloke
SO: Keep your reality headphones on and you can cheer for us, adding the noise to the crowd!
OHJ: Plus, we hacked the system so you can vote for us, Swordeans!
Computer: Please note this message was pre-recorded on the 25th of the 9th at 2:36pm Caen time.
SO: Now it's gonna give me my MultiBook updates...
Computer: In 4 hours and 54 minutes Caen time, the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest will be held. In 9 hours 54 minutes Caen time, you will be able to party with other participants.
It is National 'Volcanoc is Terrible Day'!
Your favourite show, To Kill a Volcanic, is on in 3 days, 18 hours and 12 minutes! Your flight back to..
SO: Here we go again.
Computer: Message Over.

18. Palaiologos II
SO: I enjoyed that so much. Singing, that is, not this song that hasn't even started yet.
OHJ: We couldn't kill the director, but we still have an amaze balls chance to win, thanks to you, Reality Headphone owners!
SO: The WV director is telling us to move onto the next song and stop telling our life story.
OHJ: Oh god. Anyways, this should get at least 7 points from us, right? We are the jurors, as well as the 2 Meltons...
SO: Yea, we be giving this a fair amount of points. Nice job by Pallylogo Two, or whatever it's called.
OHJ: Well, now we did that, we can tell our life story. I was born in...
SO: He meant to stop telling them about our song. Let's continue on about the song.
OHJ: It was great. You and the Meltons make a great team.
SO: Bookies favourite to win, alright!
OHJ: HOOT HOOT!
SO: Well, next up is some nation with a name that hurts my tongue when I pronounce it, Zesty Lovenando, I think it is...

19. Esta Loviendo
OHJ: Did you like it, Shop Owner? Cos I didn't.
SO: Tell me about it. Not powerful enough for me. I spent some of the time watching our soccer league. That Team 4, Amaes Bloodefus, 1...
OHJ: Go That Team!
SO: So, what did you think of the song?
OHJ: Nothing. I didn't like it that much.
SO: I'm getting kinda bored of yelling out 'next'. You can do it this time.
OHJ: OK, then. NEXT!

20. Kalosia
SO: Too sensitive for me.
OHJ: Agree. Half the songs were sensitive in the bad old days of WVSC from WV 36-38... Then in 39 in Rowland, the boom started. Odd songs were really racking up points. Like us.
SO: Anywyas, next edition we're sending that *sound blanked* song, yea?
OHJ: Yea, we be sending that.
SO: Well time for a break, folks. Gotta run.

19 - ESTA LLOVIENDO, ESCAPE THE NIGHT BRAND NEW
Song is set to Tame Impala's Let It Happen.

The lead singer of Escape The Night, Michael del Granado, wrote "Brand New" after a particularly bad date with his fellow band-member, Issac Evans. As a result, the song deals with both anxiety and the topic of a new love; the parts about love are supposed to be sarcastic. While Evans and del Granado did start dating after a while, the song, with its mixture of sarcasm and sincerity, still stands.

del Granado

Evans

Allenghe

The trio stands center stage. Louisa Allenghe stands between Evans and del Granado, who are both away from each other. A music video for the song plays onscreen behind the trio; it begins when the beat starts.

Who knows what's going to happen
Maybe love and maybe death, thinking
It's all brand new, just so brand new (It's gonna work in the end)
It's all brand new, just brand new

The lights in the arena all fade out as the beat for the song changes; the spotlight shifts from del Granado to Evans, who sings lead in this part.

I'm probably just freaking out
Trying to get through the clouds
The notion growing inside
That I'm just wrong
I'm probably just freaking out
Fogging all of my thoughts
You might be my alarm
Waking me up, I'm mourning

The spotlights now shift to del Granado now, as he sings. While he's singing, Evans starts moving towards del Granado.

Lottery, car crash, demons or hell
It's gonna happen and take away all that tells
Yet it's brand new, just so brand new (It won't happen)
It's just brand new, just brand new

Following the beat change again, Allenghe steps away from Evans and del Granado, with her singing the next part.

I'm just freaking out
Death and love has never been closer
There's a notion trying to get out
But it's never been colder
And if this love fails
Then I'll try again always
And if this love fails
I won't say I'm sorry

Allenghe plays her part here, as the trip now stands close to each other. The music video that was playing onscreen starts suffering from distortion and such, following the lyrics of the song.

I've been thinking and searching and wondering
Try to make through it, try to endure it
Just so thinking that maybe I'm not ready
But then you'll be gone so I won't mess up
Just to move on to the next lane
So I won't stop, so I will go

You were right all along
I was right all along
You were right all along
We were right all along

The group now sings together, with the screen fading out before they start singing. The spotlights onstage fade out one by one, with the lone one going out at the end, with the song.

I've been thinking and searching and wondering
Try to make through it, try to endure it
Just so thinking that maybe I'm not ready
But then you'll be gone so I won't mess up
Just to move on to the next lane
So I won't stop, so I will go

You were right all along
I was right all along
You were right all along
We were right all along

The group, having never performed before such a large crowd before, thanks the crowd and gets off stage.

Hello, welcome one and all to another exciting edition of the WORLDVISION SONG CONTEST! I’m here live from Caen, Normandy and Picardy for the 42nd Contest. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jon Myrok. I will be here to observe the contest, as we watch somewhat like 40ish nations compete against each other for a trophy or something, I’m never quite sure of what the prize for this is. Anyways, here we go!

“Feel the Moment”
The contest begins with what appears to be two children running from giant killer bacteria or balloons who’ve presumably destroyed the rest of the city’s population judging by how empty it is. I presume the flags hold the cure to free the remainders of humanity from these disease balls.

Here we have the commentators. Blah blah blah…and here’s the opening act.

“Welcome to Normandy and Picardy, we’ll try to set you on fire and then kick the shit out of you with our traditional dance” Would have been a better theme for this opening. I’ve never seen someone swing a two women around like that, it is almost like the four dancers have become a mecha.

Now they are stripping into more modern clothes and now back to traditional, so I guess the mecha dancers are going to fight these floating virus balloons. Or families appear I guess, the fire and sort of kick-boxing dance seem very family friendly. I suppose that guitar just fired out molly or something, because these dancers are going nuts.

I have no idea what is going on other than this contest starting. Were I unfamiliar with the normal vicissitudes that are an essential part of every single WorldVision Contest Opening, I would think that whoever decided to plan this act just threw everything together and hoped it would work. The mix of metal and traditional music, new and old, etc. is a nice juxtaposition, but here there are too many extremes. I feel the moment, but I feel that it is not sure of what form it wants to take.

“Muffled Cries”
The muffled cries of the singer’s persona are nothing compared to the dry heaving I’m doing in this commentary box. I feel less sympathy now that it obvious from listening to this for all of a minute that the singer should have thrown this person to curb ages ago. I can’t feel the emotion that this song is trying to convey if the singer is standing onstage with a blank face. The ethereal background of the song is its strongest point, one which unfortunately does not fit the lyrics at all. On to the next one, Karya.

“Lie, Lie, Lie"
This started out with a lot of promise and then fell into, well, hell. Or at least what normally happens with their performances. They always have been more partial to performances than to their songs. It's all become a bit desensitizing. Well, I'll just wait for a rehash of something like this next contest.

"365 Days of Christmas"
Well the actual presents were a nice surprise. What was going to be sung was not. I can't even pronounce some of this, it looks as though this might be in the running for best non-English entry. Or perhaps I simply am incapable of understanding this song anymore because otherwise my brain will turn into whatever a figgy pudding is. Humbug!

KALOSIA
Goodbye to Yesterday — Lucia Edin
performed in English to the tune of Nacida Para Amar by Nina

Radiu-Televisiune Kalosia had sent a bid to host the 42nd WorldVision Song Contest in Monterra, putting in a tremendous amount of effort into promotion. And with only 2 other competitors, Kalosians were optimistic the event would be brought back to Kalosia after they last hosted the 27th edition, especially since, in the past, Monterra has always succeeded in the bidding process (as opposed to Kasin, the only other city to have been put forward, which has never been awarded hosting rights). In the end, Kalosia came second with a margin of less than 10 points to the winning bid, to the disappointment of many.

And so, RTVK chose Lucia Edin to represent Kalosia in Caen, Normandy & Picardy.

Had Monterra hosted, a grand staging of the entry involving the provided orchestra would've been seen by viewers across the multiverse. But this didn't happen and the delegation had to improvise. To compensate for the lack of an orchestra (as RTVK did not want to send an entire orchestra only for the performance), the RTVK Symphony Orchestra was asked to play the song in RTVK studios. It was recorded, slightly remastered, and will be played as the backing track. This was chosen over the original arrangement to give a "live" feel to the entry. At least, other than the live orchestra, the performance went on as planned.

Lucia was alone on stage wearing a vibrant red dress. This contrasted with the blue-and-black gradient in the background and made her stand out well. The stage was dim and only a spotlight was cast over Lucia. The opening notes of the song started to play.

Quiet nights, silent cries
Living in sadness, it’s consuming me
My thoughts and struggles will not last
If nothing changes now

Quiet nights, silent cries
God, I have lived such a turbulent life
But the truth is that love is love
The sun is rising, now I’ll say:

A yellow-orange circle faded in, symbolizing a bright sun in a dark sky. Blue stage lights slowly brightened but only slightly, making the stage still stay dim but bright enough for one to make out the shape of the stage.

Goodbye to yesterday
To all the sorrows I’ve left behind
And let’s toast for a new tomorrow
Which I will welcome with my open arms
Goodbye to yesterday

Everything stayed as it is.
Lack of light, violent fights
Walk away from it all, at least I’ll try
For the truth is that love is love
The sun has rose, so now I’ll say:

The white stage lights started to kick in, making the stage slightly brighter.
Goodbye to yesterday
To all the sorrows I’ve left behind
And let’s toast for a new tomorrow
Which I will welcome with my open arms

At the end of the first line of the next part, stage lights fully kicked in and it was now fully illuminated.
Goodbye to yesterday
Won’t care about any past sorrow
For I’ve entered a new tomorrow
Where I’m safe from abuse, from painful memories

Now the lights faded out and the stage was dim like at the beginning of the performance, except for the spotlight. Other than that there was no change.

Goodbye to yesterday

The song ended and was met with ovations by the live audience. Lucia said "Thank you! Thank you Caen!" before leaving the stage.
