There is a chance that Qatar might lose the rights to host the tournament: it seems that the IOC were not taken in by the dark side of their bid tactics.

The problem is that, if I recall correctly, 2026 will likely be a year it goes to a CONCACAF country. I'm not sure FIFA would be keen on letting it go to North America twice in a row - although if the USA gets 2022 it could very well go back to Africa. I think it just cannot be UEFA or AFC at that point. Morocco's turn, maybe? They've bid on four of them recently (94, 98, 2006, 2010).

I don't think the US should host twice before England. But, I guess, there are probably not so many places that could host on quite short notice other than the US.

Aussie could probably do it but we're too small and it wouldn't really be worth adding a three hour flight in (to the near coast mind, Darwin and Perth and the like would be much further... I've never been to those places) for only a few matches to a crowd that's not really into soccer (which doesn't matter if you've got a decently sized population, unlike NZ).

I think a some of the larger European countries could quite easily host the 2022 world cup simply because they wouldn't have to build any new stadiums.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

I think I'd like to see a Spanish world cup.

But with Russia having it in 2018, I suspect it will go Stateside.

Could possibly be a US/Canada collaboration, but Canada isn't all that equipped I would have thought.

Looking at the Wikipedia page, they've only got 6 football stadiums with capacity over 30k, and only 7 in total.

I'd give it to Australia. Wasn't the mantra of Fifa that 2018 and 2022 hosting it in places that have never held it before?

Supposedly Hull are really chasing Harry Maguire. From what I saw of him in Sheffield United's FA Cup run, he would be a very good signing. And he's only 21 years old, at that.

Well, he's supposedly close to signing Lescott, too, who is expected to have a medical for Hull some time this week.

Let's just hope that, in true Football Manager fashion, he goes out and buys Jari Litmanen, plays him for a couple magical games, and then inevitably loses him for the season through injury.

The Premier League and Football League (as well as SPFL) fixtures are released tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are expected to name former Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday as their new boss. A very big step up – especially given he wasn't exactly a success with FGR.

Don't worry, with Massimo in charge, he won't be there long. :P

The stadiums in Qatar will have air conditioning but i think Morocco or The US should host it.

Anybody watching Besiktas-Arsenal? Great shot by Demba Ba from kick-off... And he even missed a clear opportunity later on.
