I thought Sterling and the rest of the bunch are in cover with Marcus.

Mincaldenteans wrote:Genre: Guild Wars
Business Name: Dwayna’s Vigilant (D.V. in short)
Character that owns it: Alexia Conrath
What services does it supply: The Guild has a myriad of services to offer. Its primary purpose was the defense of Ascalon (what was left of it) and assisting the war effort against the char. It has re-established itself in Bielefeld in search of allies.
Where is it located: Located in the designated Apartment unit given to Alexia.
[spoiler=Big App]Your NS Nation's Nickname: Min
Character Name: Alexia Conrath
Character Gender: Female
Character Species: Human
Character Physical Description: 5’3, 115lbs, long brown hair (right-half side) and blue eyes. Has a prominent esoteric blue tattoo on the upper left side of her head.
URL to Character Picture, if any:
Physical Attributes: N/A
Character Unique Skills: [Monk] Healing & Smiting Magic, carries a wand and focus to help channel her powers.
Character Powers: Healing (5), Smiting (5), able leader & strategist (2)
Character Weaknesses/Flaws: Human and all the frailties that come with it, can tire out easily if she’s constantly healing and/or smiting. She is a capable fighter (trained by Reyna Farris) but her expertise is focused on her powers, therefore it is best if she stays out of combat whenever possible.
Character Background/Biography: Born in Surmia, Alexia knew only the constant struggle against the Char that had destroyed her homeland and scattered the once prosperous Ascalon Kingdom to the wind. Her parents were part of King Adelbern’s ragtag army that fought the Char’s encroachment into their homelands. These desperate people had thus far stemmed, but not turn, the tide of the invasion and because of it Alexia has only known a protracted fight for survival against the unending Char horde. At the age of 14, her powers came to and Alexia had to learn “as she went”, barely having any tutelage and relied heavily on other seasoned veterans that could spare a moment to guide her.
Raised from fire and war, Alexia has since grown and commands her own guild, staging sorties and raids against Char warbands. Her right hand, Cherry, is a constant adviser to tactical and strategic strategies while her left, Traxt, helps maintain the Guild. They act independently from Alderbern’s forces though usually do not hesitate to join Ascalon’s army whenever a fight is in the horizon.
D.V’s entrance into Bielefeld was not without its consequences, leaving behind almost half of their guildmates in doing so.
Why the character is in Bielefeld/Occupation: To seek allies to fight against the Char, but failing that, a new life for her and her guild members.
URL to Apartment Picture: Wizard Isle. Anyone entering will enter into the courtyard of the Guild Hall. Anyone leaving the guild hall will find themselves in the hallway of the apartment door they entered through. There are no special wards that protect the guild entrance, only a simple enchantment to alert Guild members of new arrivals to welcome.
IMPORTANT:
One paragraph that sums up your character: Alexia is the head of the guild Dwayna’s Vigilant. She comes to Bielefeld in search of allies or, failing that, a new home for her and the members of her guild. A seasoned veteran of combat fighting against the char invaders, Alexia has maintained a cool detachment to those not of her guild and a very protective (almost possessive, some would say) of those within it. Being a healer first, Alexia is prone to being emotionally drained from the plights of others through her years fighting the char have hardened her to accept losses as bitter consequences of war. Alexia’s patron god is Dwayna, Goddess of Life & Air.
Character Name: Traxt Affinity
Character Gender: Male
Character Species: Human
Character Physical Description: 6 feet, 175 lbs. Black hair, brown eyes, pale skin
URL to Character Picture, if any: Picture provided in Alexia app.
Physical Attributes: N/A
Character Unique Skills: Fire and Air Magic. Carries a staff for channeling his powers and for self-defense
Character Powers: [Elementalist] Fire Magic (5) & Air Magic (5), second in command of D.V. (2)
Character Weaknesses/Flaws: Also human, is highly dependent on spells for offense and defense. Traxt can tire out quicker than any other member of his guildmates, but he is by far the heaviest hitter for it. Under extreme emotional stress, Traxt’s powers can ‘shut down’ or behave erratically.
Character Background/Biography: Traxt was born in Kryta, a ‘frenemy’ nation of Ascalon, to well off merchants with equally unusual names (Traxt himself won’t let anyone know of it). He came to his power on accident when a group of bullies were picking on him. Emotionally stressed, they were swept off their feet and pushed aside with ease. Traxt ran home, uncertain what had just happened, afraid of further trouble, and recounted the story to his parents. Once his parents were aware of their son’s abilities, they had sent him off to Kryta’s Academy of Elemental Arts to hone his incredible powers. It was here that the ability to call and manipulate fire was also discovered.
When the Char invasion (after breaking through the Kingdom of Ascalon) came; Traxt, fully grown and potent practitioner, was a member of one of the few remaining guilds within Kryta to act independently against the horde. During a raid against a Char warband, Traxt and his fellow guildmates were caught in an ambush. One by one his friends fell before him and if it wasn’t for the intervention of Dwayna’s Vigilant, he would have perished with his friends. He has since joined with the guild out of gratitude and sense of obligation to continue the fight.
Why the character is in Bielefeld/Occupation: Second in command to D.V.
IMPORTANT:
One paragraph that sums up your character: Traxt is second in command of D.V. A quiet man, Traxt doesn’t say much and prefers to keep to himself most of the time. Underneath the distant persona lies a person very much protective and loyal, yet also alone and in need of a friend or companion. Traxt dismisses such notions, of course, attributing such feelings as weakness and a small price to pay for the continued fight against the Char. Traxt’s patron god is Balthazar, God of War & Fire.
Character Name: Cherry Valentine
Character Gender: Female
Character Species: Human
Character Physical Description: 5’9”, brown hair kept in a bun with strands falling on both sides. Brown friendly eyes, slim physique, and taller than most of the women in D.V. Outfit varies often.
URL to Character Picture, if any: Picture provide in Alexia app.
Physical Attributes:[b] N/A
[b]Character Unique Skills: [Mesmer] Domination & Illusion Magic, carries a sword and foci
Character Powers: Domination (5), mostly suited against magical practitioners, & Illusion (5) Magic, mostly suited against physical based attackers. Average hand-to-hand combatant (2), carries a sword and fan or chakram focus.
Character Weaknesses/Flaws: Also human. As a Mesmer, Cherry is highly dependent on a given situation to support her guildmates and hinder her foes. Most of her powers are (essentially) pysch-based. Domination, while powerful is highly susceptible to being useless against physical attackers (unless hexed with Empathy); likewise Illusion is highly useless against magical attacks (unless hexed with a powerful Conundrum spell). Cherry needs to plan accordingly in order to fulfill her role.
Character Background/Biography: Cherry was born deep in the Echovald Forests of the land of the Kurzicks, a nation in the distant lands of Cantha. Born under House Bauer, Cherry grew up appreciating the arts. She was hardly concerned about the ongoing conflict against the Luxons, the Kurzicks traditional enemies, or the political dancing in Cantha’s royal court for which House Bauer assumed responsibility on behalf of their nation. Instead, she traveled with several independent groups and guilds that were considered neutral and tolerated throughout Cantha (even in Luxon territory), Elona, and Tyria. Not to be considered naïve as she had seen her fair share of combat with roving bands of marauders, bandits and creatures that stalked in the shadows. It was in her travels that she met Anais, and the two would become fast friends who sought to explore the world of Tyria together. Eventually, the two traveled to Kryta hearing of a cultural revival and instead found to be in a city fighting against a Char siege. Forced to defend themselves when the Char broke through the city defenses, Cherry and Anais banded together with a guild later to introduce themselves as Dwayna’s Vigilant. Impressed by the skills of Cherry and Anais, they were offered a spot in the guild. They accepted.
Why the character is in Bielefeld/Occupation: Guild member and de facto lieutenant of D.V.
IMPORTANT:
One paragraph that sums up your character: Cherry is a very independent woman who is a social, overly curious and has a passion for art and culture (the decadent type at any rate). She prefers to keep out of fighting and often protest (in many, many words) of such confrontations. Still, being a part of D.V., Cherry has come to respect others and finds that she cares for them more than she’s willing to admit. Cherry’s patron god is Lyssa, Goddess of Beauty & Illusion.
NPCs, these 3 below will remain in the Guild Hall/Apartment, players may occasionally see them (if you visit), these are not active chars unless needed or approved to use:
Anais Adarah [Ritualist], a woman with Eurasian features, Anais is a mysterious person whose ties with the ether and devotion to Grenth, the God of Death and Ice, imbue her with powers of spiritual wrath or soothing restoration. Anais has a wealth of knowledge and she often shares it in stories (true or not is anyone’s guess) and cryptic responses. No one is sure of her actual age, save Cherry.
Erick Dresner [Dervish], dressed in robes and armed with a scythe, Erick is the ideal holy warrior that imbues the powers of earth and air to call forth a swath of destruction. He is a front line fighter and often pairs with Reyna as the duo work smoothly. When not in combat, Erick can often be found maintaining shrines to the Five Gods; his simple faith in them sustains him even through the most difficult of times. Despite devoting himself to all Five Gods, Erick takes solace in his faith in Melandru, Goddess of Earth & Nature.
Reyna Farris [Warrior], a fierce and proud warrior, Reyna doesn’t hesitate to enter any fight, often charging with sword and shield. She often argues with Alexia and Traxt over tactical and strategic decisions, attributing to the philosophy of a strong offense as the best defense. Reyna can be seen training constantly, but has recently taken up meditating at the insistence of Anais. The warrior’s favored god is Balthazar, although she has whispered a prayer or two to all other gods (influenced, no doubt, from Erick).
The rest of D.V.’s members below are missing or presumed dead:
Aiden Winchester [Paragon], a natural and motivational leader, Aiden knew that all of D.V. would be lost if the char warband chasing them were not distracted or diverted. He chose to stand his ground and did not ask for volunteers in his act of sacrifice. To his surprise, Alec, Anita, Preston, Shirley, and Elizabeth joined him to buy time for the others. His fate is unknown.
Alec Winchester [Mesmer], younger brother to Aiden and husband to Shirley, Aiden is a brilliant Mesmer who’s magic in Inspiration and Illusion impressed Cherry, a veteran of the Mesmer arts. His creativity to his magical works easily landed him a spot in the guild and at Aiden’s insistence often led scouting missions for D.V. Alec chose to stay behind and he was the first to be captured or killed.
Shirley Winchester nee Templeton [Elementalist] is a rebellious hotheaded young woman who wields power with her emotions than her brain with impressive (and devastating for the enemy) results. She stayed behind despite Alec’s protests, calling forth a firestorm to halt the char while he protested. If this was her end, as she believed, she’d rather die at her husband’s side than abandon him, or the rest of the guild, to their fate.
Anita Tessasohn [Ranger], a stoic woman who knows the terrain better than most other Ascalonians, Anita and her pet lynx (Paddles) joined in the engagement against the Char warband in an effort to see the rest of D.V. through the portal, her fate is also unknown.
Preston Ernlaid [Ranger], the on-and-off-again boyfriend of Anita. He joined D.V. at the request of Anita, who knew that the guild needed a guide through the wilderness they often waded through whenever she was unable. His skill with a bow was far better than hers, and Anita grudgingly admitted that she wouldn’t have anyone else (except Paddles) to fill in the void for D.V. whenever she was absent.
Elizabeth Bathory [Necromancer], a powerful animator, is quiet and stunning woman whose looks belie her dark powers. She was the last of D.V. unable to accompany the rest through the portal. With empty eyes and a chilling demeanor only the God of Death & Ice – Grenth - would appreciate, she joined Aiden’s defense group and her reasoning was simple; she had a score to settle, she said.
Misc Info:
The people of Tyria worship the Five Gods. Those that have been gifted with powers or physical acumen often attribute it to these immortal beings. While many rely on their emotions to fuel their intended act, their true source is in their faith. Without it, or simply lack thereof, their gifts wane and even stop working altogether. The five gods are:
Dwayna, Goddess of Life & Air
Balthazar, God of Fire & War
Melandru, Goddess of Nature & Earth
Grenth, God of Death & Ice
Lyssa, Goddess of Beauty & Illusion
Well, that was something. Hopefully everything is in place and nothing is too extreme or lacking. There’s an obvious story arc I put in with their history but I don’t intend to explore it until much later (and not without prior asking of course). If accepted, I won't introduce them until after Tribblequest, or after FOB, to make things easier[/spoiler].

Funny you asked because I was originally going to list all of their original spells/skills and also a PL version to fit the setting so it wasn't overpowered, but it was just so much that I reduced it to its original app format. Smiting (in the game anyway) specializes in dealing with undead mostly and somewhat raising an ally's offensive capability. It's a line of the monks that was constantly nerfed/padded/nerfed again/and outright became sub-par to other classes' offensive capabilities save for a few monk spells that were still useful. For PL purposes, the smiting will deal mostly in supporting another player's offense capability rather than blasting holy laser beams at everyone
EDIT: I can give an example of what I mean if needed also -nodnod-

I'll have a Tribblequest reply up just as soon as I finish fawning over new Issues. Or perhaps not so new Issues? I've never seen some of them before. The Issue
After a highly publicized arrest, in which one of the nation's wealthiest celebrities was detained for assaulting two of her servants with a priceless Fabergé egg, some of Swith Witherward's rich have begun demanding the right to avoid prison terms by paying off their victims.
The Debate
"It makes, like, no sense for someone like ME to be stuck here for three WHOLE DAYS," whines Clarrisse Milton during a jail cell interview, only after dimming the lights and getting earplugs for her hangover. "And the trial hasn't even STARTED. My daddy has PLENTY of money and, like, nothing better to spend it on. He could just give a few million Crown Tulgeys to the victims' families and, um... like, the government. That's fair, right?"
"You've got to be kidding me!" bellows Swith Witherward's Attorney General, Dave Wall, angrily pounding his fist on your desk. "No one should be above the law, no matter how much money they have! It's bad enough that they can hire some shyster lawyer to get them off on a technicality most of the time. As a matter of fact, we should make the rich use public defenders. It's only fair considering everyone else is stuck with them. You know what, just expand the entire public defenders' office while you're at it."
"Instead of wasting money on prisons for violent criminals, I could take care of your problem," suggests Miranda Nguyen, Swith Witherward's wealthiest psychopath, while polishing a rifle. "I'm an unrivaled hunter, but with animals there's no challenge for an expert such as myself. If you sent prey to my island estate, I'd be willing to throw a few Crown Tulgeys the government's way. You save money; I take care of the scum in your penal system. Sounds like a win-win to me."
The Government Position
The government has yet to formalize a position on this issue.
