CAFUNDÉU - PREVIEW OF THE NEW SEASON
PART 2

SERRANO: Hélio; Cassou (c), Tarso, Wellington and Jorge Suco; Hawthorne, Krestenitis, Reyes and Sporadic; Deschamps and Cromsumé.
Coach: Julio Mercegues.
President: Doro Piu.
Team Full Name: Serrano Futebol Clube.
Team Style: defensive, explores the wings.
Strongest Point: offensive midfield.
Weakest Point: the central defence.
Nickname: Alpinistas (Climbers).
Stadium Used: Cume da Montanha, in Serra Cabral (cap. 30,000).
State: Central.
Team Sponsor: Pechincha Supermarket.
Home Kit: brown shirt with details in yellow and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and brown shorts.
Other Facts: Serrano had all the opportunities to grow in the championship and become more than just an intermediate team. The team had good performances, and those resulted in their best players being bought by other clubs of the division. Without enough money left to buy good reinforcements due to some high debts, Serrano now have a very weaker team than the one of previous seasons.
Transfer Market: the goalkeeper Hélio and defenders Tarso and Wellington are the only signings, far from enough to replace the absences of Ryan McAllister and Nico Lewton, two key players who left the team.
Fans’ Favourites: the supporters are so unpredictable that an idol can become an enemy after just a day and vice-versa.
Good Bench Players: Ayrton (defender), Netinho (attacker), Diguinho (midfielder), Olavo (goalkeeper), Matheuzão (defender).
The Fans Expect: intermediate position.
Fans’ style: fanatic (small number) – really crazy for their team, the Serrano supporters are completely unpredictable, so unpredictable we don’t know what to write here about them... honestly, we tried to, sending one of our reporters to join their biggest fan group, and we lost contact to him since then.
Club Tradition: weak tradition – established in 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (**), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

SC LASFT: Usher; Bedwell, Viera, Kanis and H.Mohammed; Mesquita (c), Olsen and Bogota; Cassetti, Gilmar and Dossena.
Coach: Alfonso Di Angelo.
President: Alcides Mattos.
Team Full Name: Sport Club Lasft.
Team Style: balanced, likes to control the game’s pace.
Strongest Point: good midfield.
Weakest Point: probably the attack, though the team is a balanced one.
Nickname: Golden Team.
Stadium Used: Estádio Padre Anchieta, in Lasft (cap. 70,000).
State: Lasft.
Team Sponsor: Imperial Lottery.
Home Kit: black shirt with details in gold and black shorts.
Away Kit: golden shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: although the team now seems solid in the First Division, it is far from repeating the good performances of the past, when it was among the best teams of the entire league. When it appeared that the supporters were starting to get used to this new era of the team, the chairman invests heavily to try to put the team back into success, and now they have bigger ambitions.
Transfer Market: a major loss was in the surprise transfer of Da Costa to Clube Comercial, but the replacements will want to make the supporters forget this transfer: Usher comes to the goal, under some suspicions but with the confidence of the coach; Ken Bedwell and Viera join the defence, forcing Mesquita to join the midfield, using all his versatility. Cassetti and Dossena join Ruiz at the attack, following the retirement of Matoso. Ariel Bogota comes as the impact signing, replacing Will Sussex.
Fans’ Favourites: the favourites of the supporters are the two ones who came from the youth team of SC Lasft and enjoyed success, being those Ruiz and Mesquita. The former, due to his better performances, is in a higher level.
Good Bench Players: Ivan (defender), Fernando Borges (midfielder), Kadu (attacker), Marinho (goalkeeper), Lithsumé (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: top 8 position.
Fans’ style: passionate (big number) – usually associated with poorest people of the region, due to the rivalry with Petardos S/A. Curiously, the second richest person of the city supports SC Lasft.
Club Tradition: one of the football pioneers of the country – successful at domestic stage.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (***).

INTERNACIONAL DE PENDERIA: Felipe; Young, Vainarell, Duílio and Gut; Diors, Bjornssund, Sussex, Dante and Kabir; Sinclair (c).
Coach: Diogo Avarel.
President: Renato Saulo Meirelles, Count of Penderia.
Team Full Name: Sport Club Internacional de Penderia.
Team Style: offensive, uses long ranged passes.
Strongest Point: the goalkeeper.
Weakest Point: the central defence.
Nickname: os Cavaleiros (the Knights).
Stadium Used: Campo do Forte Meirelles, Penderia (cap. 50,000).
State: Old Cities.
Team Sponsor: Vênus Cosmetics.
Home Kit: red shirt with white stripes and red shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and white shorts.
Other Facts: this one is a traditional team, in fact, but got lost in time. The return of it to the First Division was much commemorated, and after many seasons in the top level the team now seems pretty used to the league, and unlikely to have a bad campaign. Meanwhile, the investment slowly increases, in the pursuit of the dream of one day appearing among the best in the country.
Transfer Market: there were some players leaving the team, but Internacional managed to keep a good level in the squad. Duílio joins the defence with the return of the young foreign players which were out on loan. In the midfield, Will Sussex joins Solomon Dante on which is being a very praised midfield, but an aged one. In the attack, Ian Sinclair will probably work alone, and most people say it is too much pressure for him.
Fans’ Favourite: their favourite player is the goalkeeper Felipe, who got promoted alongside with the team to the Primeirona.
Good Bench Players: Jaimesinho (defender), Mixto (attacker), Pateta (defender), Mocce (midfielder), Arturzinho (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: intermediate position.
Fans’ style: extremely fanatic, slightly violent (average number) – the revival of the team revived the violent percentage of the Internacional fan base, which now dominates the team’s fan groups. Their supporters simply can’t stop talking about football, they talk about it on work, with the family, with their wives/husbands, with the dog, to themselves...
Club Tradition: very traditional – nearly established to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (***), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

CRUZEIRO DO SUL: Otávio Gumes; Ritalino, Thorvaldsson, Bjorn and Dinei; S. Donnchadh, Súrion, Arturo and An Pilrip (c); Ospina and Ruiz.
Coach: Luís Henrique Mittel.
President: Marina Vasconcelos Selvagem.
Team Full Name: Associação Atlética Cruzeiro do Sul.
Team Style: offensive, uses long passes.
Strongest Point: the midfield in general.
Weakest Point: the attackers.
Nickname: Celestes.
Stadium Used: Caixão Beira-mar, in Cruzeiro do Sul (cap. 30,000).
State: Coast.
Team Sponsor: Rei Hotels and Tourism.
Home Kit: blue shirt with black shorts.
Away Kit: White shirt with blue shorts.
Other Facts: it has been some time already since the team got promoted to the First Division. Since then, Cruzeiro do Sul has managed to escape relegation in all seasons, but failed to do much more. This season things won’t be different, and the team still maintains the same level of quality of previously. Although this is a sign that the team didn’t get worse, this isn’t much promising, as the relegation zone is ever flirting with them.
Transfer Market: the losses in Cruzeiro do Sul were pretty big, with Tejera and Bustamante leaving for bigger clubs, and Abelardo to Somewhereistonia after a short trial at Petardos S/A. But the replacements have been acceptable: Arturo from Balida, Ospina from Valladares and Bjorn from Metropolitano. Well, I guess their losses were bigger, but that was the best they could do.
Fans’ Favourite: all the former idols of Cruzeiro do Sul are now in other clubs or retired. In the current team, maybe we can get some names close to this status in Suleiman Donnchadh and An Pilrip, the former clearly the best player of the team.
Good Bench Players: Renan (defender), Amat (midfielder), Pacheco (attacker), Gilson (attacker), Cortina (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: fanatic (low number) – composed by residents of the city, they usually have two passions: football and the beach. How to decide between one or another? Just bring the television to the beach – the city hall built many walls close to the sea with electrical outlets for the football fans.
Club Tradition: slightly traditional – newcomer to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (**), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

ATLÉTICO INSULAR: Ronaldo; Nestor, Ali, Brutamontes and Perrin; Matador, Brekke, Alarcón (c) and Mário Moura; Aavik and Alexandre.
Coach: Sérgio Alerto Nóbrega.
President: Durval Sassarech.
Team Full Name: Clube Atlético Insular.
Team Style: defensive, using counterattacks a lot.
Strongest Point: the defensive midfield.
Weakest Point: the attack.
Nickname: Eremitas.
Stadium Used: Cúpula Tropical, in Ilha Eremita (cap. 45,000).
State: Coast.
Team Sponsor: Agora Saúde.
Home Kit: light blue shirt with yellow stripes and light blue shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and light blue shorts.
Other Facts: ah, so Atlético Insular got back to the first division last season, and managed to avoid relegation... but the battle doesn’t end now, as there a new season comes and the team doesn’t seem to be strong enough to stay. Luckily, there are other teams in the same situation, so Atlético Insular will hope to do a good job in order to escape the red zone. Anything more than this will be a plus.
Transfer Market: the losses of Ariel Bogotá and Pak Yongho will have such a big negative impact in the team that few people are commenting about the new signings. Brekke, for example, comes with an interesting status. Few people have seen him play, but they praise him nonetheless. The defence seems to be the best reinforced sector, and can be crucial for the team’s ambitions.
Fans’ Favourites: the defensive midfielder Matador is far from being the best player, but impressively is the most loved player of the team, due to his dedication to Atlético Insular.
Good Bench Players: Neneca (goalkeeper), Morais (attacker), Fagundes (midfielder), Garcia (defender), João Gustavo (midfielder).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation without problems.
Fans’ style: calm (small number) – used to the life away from the big city, they like to bring their animals to the stadium. Unfortunately for them, they also have to pay tickets to enter too.
Club Tradition: traditional team – used to 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (**), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

CLUBE COMERCIAL: Cleston; Calvo, André Coutinho and Khan; Bino (c), Castelo, Nash, Vazquez and Da Costa; Bowyer and Sias.
Coach: Eddie Barnes.
President: Director Santa Claus.
Team Full Name: Clube do Comércio Cafundelense - CCC.
Team Style: offensive, likes to play long balls and shots.
Strongest Point: the entire midfield, truly a top one.
Weakest Point: the defence.
Nickname: Mercenários.
Stadium Used: Olímpico Imperial, in Lux (cap. 80,000).
State: Central.
Team Sponsor: AUGECC – the Cafundelense group of companies.
Home Kit: black shirt and white shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: Clube Comercial simply had one of the most impressive returns to the Primeirona, especially if we consider the fact that they have never been a top club in Cafundéu: won state competitions, did really well in the national ones... surely the supporters have nothing to complain about. And, following that good season, now the team brought some famous names to the club in order to guarantee even better performances. Although a top 8 position once again is not out of view, the basic objective is to consolidate the team in the First Division and continue impressing.
Transfer Market: Clube Comercial is the proof that money can really improve a team. Bowyer will probably have to adapt himself to a more attacking position after the team bought so many midfielders: Vazquez was praised, but surely nothing at the level of the arrivals of Tegan Nash and Da Costa, who are going to make a promising partnership in the club. Sias reinforces the attack, while Ahmed Khan does the same to the defence.
Fans’ Favourites: midfielder Bino is currently the favourite of the fans, although full-back Calvo is a very funny player, whose style is admirated by the supporters and even some opponents.
Good Bench Players: Jim Hill (defender), Ramón (attacker), Idlam (midfielder), Castanhal (midfielder), Tagarela (goalkeeper).
The Fans Expect: intermediate position.
Fans’ style: demanding (low number) – rich businesspeople from all around Cafundéu who invest in the team and demand results. Some are a bit eccentric, doing things like throwing money to the real fans of Clube Comercial – which are very few – but they mostly are sane people.
Club Tradition: somewhat traditional team – used to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (***), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

GALÁXIA: Getúlio; Bozó, Luhmann, Wanderson and Paulão; Caipira (c), Tico, Sulkiewicz and Vervánt; Granek and Romergleydson.
Coach: Nelson Yaschter.
President: Claudecir do Prado.
Team Full Name: Academia de Futebol Galáxia.
Team Style: balanced, likes to explore individual plays.
Strongest Point: the offensive midfield.
Weakest Point: the defence in general.
Nickname: Academia Estelar.
Stadium Used: Gigantão, Santo Galvão (cap. 80,000).
State: Titã.
Team Sponsor: Fordeare Mobile Phones.
Home Kit: black shirt with narrow light blue vertical stripes and black shorts.
Away Kit: light blue shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: last time that the team played the Primeirona, it got rid of the old tradition of not having any foreign players in order to escape relegation, but failed at that mission. Luckily for them, they won the Segundona just in the next season, and are back. The objective is the same of the last time: escape relegation. The team has some talented young players, but is still one of the weakest of the league.
Transfer Market: there were some few but much needed signings, mostly from clubs of lower divisions. The young players Caipira and Romergleydson are promising, while the foreigners Vervánt and Sulkiewicz will give more experience and variety to the squad.
Fans’ Favourites: from the current team, the goalkeeper Getúlio is much praised for his good performances, and the fact that he started his career at the club makes him the biggest idol of the current squad.
Good Bench Players: Richards (defender), Clodoaldo (defender), Gustavinho (midfielder), Orteshe (midfielder), Luizão (attacker).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: cold (low number) – the team doesn’t have many loyal followers, although many people think Galáxia is a nice team... on the level of “ow, how cute this team is, but I do not support them!”
Club Tradition: recent team – formerly consolidated 1st Division club.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (**), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

ELDORADO: Brucutu; Paraíba (c), Rabicó, Alvinho and Gordillo; Turco, Kiko, Mitsubara and Jesus; Fabiano Carvalho and Hexa.
Coach: Connor Mengucci.
President: Carlos Eduardo Tramontina.
Team Full Name: Associação Esportiva Eldorado.
Team Style: slightly offensive, enjoys long passes and counterattacks.
Strongest Point: the midfield is good.
Weakest Point: the attack.
Nickname: Conquistadores.
Stadium Used: Memorial, in Eldorado (cap. 40,000).
State: Juta.
Team Sponsor: Ignição Fuel and Oil.
Home Kit: yellow shirt with details in green and green shorts.
Away Kit: pale green shirt and white shorts.
Other Facts: this is an interesting team. It had a good squad for Segundona level for a long time, but for some seasons ended almost getting promoted. It is located in an almost nice city and has an almost good stadium, with an almost top infrastructure designed by an almost competent engineer. For this season, Eldorado has already achieved the dream of reaching the First Division: now the focus is to stay. Of the promoted clubs, is the one which did the best signings and may have the best chances of escaping relegation, something that already is a very good thing...
Transfer Market: adding to what was already a promising roster, Eldorado signed with many players. Gordillo came from Balida; Kiko and Hexa are the ones who, after a long negotiation full of unexpected problems, arrived from the Malak Free State. Mitsubara will take the role of leader of the midfield, coming from Osarius... so, a good number of new players arriving, especially for a recently promoted club.
Fans’ Favourites: the captain of the team and young player Paraíba is the idol of the team’s supporters... in second, comes the defensive midfielder Turco, who is very committed and determinate on the pitch.
Good Bench Players: Klebinho (midfielder), Marquinhos Juta (attacker), Odvan Guará (attacker), Betterson (defender), Dedilhal (defender).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: passionate (low number) – due to the fact that Eldorado isn’t so far from Cafundó do Juta, most of its population ends supporting one of the capital teams. But the ones who stay loyal to Eldorado end being extremely fanatic, with tattoos on their bodies and calling their sons or livestock with names of famous players.
Club Tradition: slightly traditional team – newcomer to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (**).

SANTA CRUZ DO NORTE: Ivo; Matheus (c), Natrek, Tarcísio and Preto; Bobó, Darcy, Vinícius Oliveira and Costabranca; Mullet and Kauê.
Coach: Ciro Legrettini.
President: Hermes Marechal.
Team Full Name: Santa Cruz do Norte Clube de Futebol.
Team Style: defensive, explores crossings and set pieces.
Strongest Point: the wings, with full-backs and wingers.
Weakest Point: the offensive midfield.
Nickname: Devotos.
Stadium Used: Monastério Del Rey, Santa Cruz do Norte, (cap. 40,000).
State: Titã.
Team Sponsor: Churrascarias Brasa Mora.
Home Kit: black shirt with white stripes and black shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and black shorts.
Other Facts: oh, so Santa Cruz do Norte was really able to return to the First Division after spending just a single season in the Segundona? I wonder if they did really well... of course it is an excellent thing for this team to reach the top tier once again, but at the same time they once again have an extremely weak team, which will have a hard time to fight against relegation.
Transfer Market: there have been signings, really, but none from abroad. Without much money to invest, Santa Cruz do Norte opted to bring talents from clubs of lower Cafundelense divisions.
Fans’ Favourite: from the current squad, Matheus is the player that has the most confidence from the fans... but they miss their old idol Zedervan... does someone remember him?
Good Bench Players: Tarzan (midfielder), Guga (midfielder), Jorge Paulo (defender), Romano (attacker), Peixeira (defender).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: calm (low number) – associated with the very religious citizens of the city. Instead of singing songs in order to motivate the club, they have some strange praying chants, which don’t seem much motivating.
Club Tradition: recent team – newcomer to 1st Division environment.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

SÃO JOSÉ: Farah; Bruni, Gardanel, Fernando and Vandinho; Gabriel, Almeida Prado, Lobos (c) and Dorival; Júnior Guerreiro and Zizi.
Coach: Maurinho Jacareí.
President: Renato Sambaio Ferreira.
Team Full Name: São José Futebol Clube.
Team Style: defensive, likes to hold the ball a lot.
Strongest Point: the attack is the best it can offer.
Weakest Point: the defensive midfield is simply horrible.
Nickname: Estudantes.
Stadium Used: Estádio Pioneiro, São Jorge (cap. 120,000).
State: Old Cities.
Team Sponsor: Alívio Toilet Paper.
Home Kit: light blue shirt and shorts.
Away Kit: white shirt and shorts.
Other Facts: São José is back at the First Division, probably the team that got promoted and then relegated the most times in the league history (or at least battles for this title against CR Submiria and Clube Comercial). In all its seasons in the Segundona, they managed to keep a satisfactory level of performances, but they aren’t enough to do a good performance in the Primeirona... perhaps they can avoid relegation, but that’s going to be tough too.
Transfer Market: São José mostly maintained the squad of the last season, which only got promoted from the Second Division through the playoffs. So, that wasn’t the start the fans were expecting.
Fans’ Favourites: the defender Fernando is hard-working and is the one who enjoys the most popularity with the fans. Lobos and Júnior Guerreiro would come tied right after, because they’re good players.
Good Bench Players: Marquinho (defender), Admilseo (midfielder), Tubaína (attacker), Feres (midfielder), Nílson (attacker).
The Fans Expect: escape relegation.
Fans’ style: fanatic (medium number) – the supporters of São José are proud of the fact that the team is a very traditional one, even not being much successful, and love to consider themselves superior to the other ones, even if they are losing 10-0.
Club Tradition: very traditional – trying to consolidate in the 1st Division.
Experts’ Ratings: Sílvio Ruiz (*), Jorge Lang (*), Carlos Alberto Gujabre (*).

O-LEAGUE SEASON VI - PART THREE

KFA Cup Round Three
Who are Ilham & Welford? That was a question many Notegia fans were asking before their third round tie at Knott Crescent. Turns out that the answer is “your worst nightmare”. The O-League Five side dumped the Tyfield club out of the competition in extra time, Mitchell Diniz with the historic goal.

Rangers weren't the only ones, either. Aigburth, the former Premier side now languishing in the third tier, despatched CF Avides, Camberley made Secklow pay the penalty, and Thackworth Rovers heaped more misery on Stratford Rovers' season by beating them two-nil.

The big all-Premier tie swung back and forth, but cup specialists Avidia United ended up falling to Casuals by the odd goal in five. No such problems for Mercia and Borough, both safely through; Stanton Town also made it, despite needing extra time to defeat Linford United, two divisions below.

Results:
Camberley Town 1-1 Secklow (AET; FT 1-1; Camberley win 5-4 on pens)
Casuals Osteria 3-2 Avidia United
CF Avides 0-1 Aigburth Athletic (AET; FT 0-0)
East Green Phoenix 1-0 Walton City
Ellisham 2-1 Porthscadoch
Faversham Town 1-3 Norton
Hastings County 6-1 Bohemians
Linford United 2-3 Stanton Town (AET; FT 2-2)
Mercia Bromham 4-2 St Peter's
Nenbridge 1-0 Bromham City
Newley 3-2 Zoderby United (AET; FT 2-2)
Notegia Rangers 1-2 Ilham & Welford (AET; FT 1-1)
Ousevale Borough 3-1 Sandwell Rangers
Ousevale Juniors 1-0 Highfield
Oxley 1-2 New Cefn Albion
Stratford Rovers 0-2 Thackworth Rovers

Matchday Eleven
There is a difference between last season's Ousevale Borough and this season's Ousevale Borough. The Season VI edition can actually beat Mercia. The victory at the Midland Stadium, courtesy of a lone Shawn Hill strike, puts Ousevale three points clear at the top, and also dumps the Bromham side into third as Emberton Reds clip the Eagles' wings.

New Cefn's season is getting better and better, meanwhile; they're up to fourth after beating Juniors. That result also means Secklow get themselves back out of the bottom three, and a point clear of the second Ousevale side.

Results:
Avidia United 0-2 Emberton Reds
Casuals Osteria 2-0 Beckton Supermarine
CF Avides 0-2 Secklow
Krytenia Emberton 1-3 Avidia City
Mercia Bromham 0-1 Ousevale Borough
Ousevale Juniors 0-2 New Cefn Albion
Stanton Town 0-0 Bradwell Saints
Stratford Rovers 0-3 Notegia Rangers

Matchday Twelve
Casuals just made the season more interesting. Just when it seemed Ousevale Borough were preparing to stretch away, the Miners make the Tigers drop two points and the chasing pack get to catch up. Emberton Reds are now just one point behind, Mercia Bromham three, and New Cefn Albion four. Wait, what?

At the bottom, little has been said of the quietly sinking Beckton Supermarine. Fifth in their Premier debut last season, the Mariners lost to Avidia United at the weekend and drop to twelfth, as Ousevale Juniors pull themselves back out of the fire – and above Beckton – whilst Secklow return to the bottom three.

Results:
Avidia City 2-0 Stratford Rovers
Beckton Supermarine 0-1 Avidia United
Bradwell Saints 0-1 Krytenia Emberton
CF Avides 0-1 Mercia Bromham
Emberton Reds 1-0 Stanton Town
Notegia Rangers 0-2 Ousevale Juniors
Ousevale Borough 1-1 Casuals Osteria
Secklow 0-2 New Cefn Albion

KFA Cup Round Four Draw
If Casuals are going to win the cup, they'll be doing it the hard way. Having already taken care of Bradwel and Avidia United, they will next host Ousevale Borough at New Coalfields in the only all-Premier tie of the round. Ousevale's other top-flight club, meanwhile, face an away trip to Newley, the only O-League Six side remaining in the competition. Mercia Bromham face an interesting tie, meanwhile, at the New Anwir Cymru Arms, facing Thackworth Rovers, and there'll be a guaranteed O-League Five side in the last eight, as Ilham & Welford play host to East Green Phoenix.

Full Draw:
Ellisham (OL2) v Norton (OL2)
Ilham & Welford (OL5) v East Green Phoenix (OL5)
Hastings County (OL2) v New Cefn Albion (OLP)
Stanton Town (OLP) v Aigburth Athletic (OL3)
Newley (OL6) v Ousevale Juniors (OLP)
Thackworth Rovers (OL2) v Mercia Bromham (OLP)
Nenbridge (OL3) v Camberley Town (OL2)
Casuals Osteria (OLP) v Ousevale Borough (OLP)

Matchday Thirteen
The Emberton derby may have provided some thrills and spills, but it's as you were in the top four as Borough, Reds, Mercia, and Albion all won (Albion's victory over Notegia being their sixth on the trot); Casuals, meanwhile, are now only separated from the top five by goal difference after their win over Avides.

At the bottom, Stratford and Bradwell battered each other to a one-all draw that does neither side any favours; the blow was tempered, however, by the fact that the five teams above them (Secklow, Avides, Beckton, Juniors, and Notegia) all lost.

Results:
Avidia United 0-2 Ousevale Borough
Casuals Osteria 2-1 CF Avides
Krytenia Emberton 2-3 Emberton Reds
Mercia Bromham 2-1 Secklow
New Cefn Albion 4-2 Notegia Rangers
Ousevale Juniors 0-1 Avidia City
Stanton Town 2-0 Beckton Supermarine
Stratford Rovers 1-1 Bradwell Saints

Matchday Fourteen
What a way to get your first win. After looking like a team not out of place in your average local weekend league for thirteen games, Stratford Rovers shocked the establishment by travelling to the Isserson and rolling over Emberton Reds by two goals to nil. Andy Ridgewell and Cameron Fraser were the heroes for Rovers as they reached the dizzying heights of five points.

Reds, at least, chose a good day to lose. Ousevale could only draw with Stanton, and though Mercia and New Cefn both won to put the side from the capital in fourth place, they're only two points behind leaders Ousevale, and Albion are ahead of them only on goals scored.

Stratford's win puts them back in the dogfight, meanwhile, jst six points behind “on the bubble” Avides; with Bradwell missing out to the odd goal in seven, Secklow losing, and Beckton stalemated against Krytenia Emberton, survival may yet be on the cards for the bottom club.

Results:
Avidia City 0-1 New Cefn Albion
Beckton Supermarine 0-0 Krytenia Emberton
Bradwell Saints 3-4 Ousevale Juniors
CF Avides 0-1 Avidia United
Emberton Reds 0-2 Stratford Rovers
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Casuals Osteria
Ousevale Borough 0-0 Stanton Town
Secklow 2-3 Notegia Rangers

Matchday Fifteen
Whatever Stratford have put in the water, I want some. Rovers are back in style, smashing Beckton four-nil in the day's big relegation six-pointer. It almost, almost, distracted everyone's attention from the rumblings at the top of the table.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we have a new leader! Ousevale dropped the idiot ball at the Isserson against the Pats, and two dropped points allowed Mercia to go a point clear at the O-League summit. Emberton rise back up to third, behing the Tigers only on goal difference, with Albion two points further back after a draw with Bradwell ended their run of seven consecutive wins. They're still unbeaten in ten though.

Back to the bottom, and at the winter break, it's Saints at the foot of the table, a point behind a resurgent Stratford. Secklow haul themselves out of the relegation zone and into twelfth, with Avides crashing into the bottom three after a five-nil drubbing at the hands of Stanton, a game notable for a rare goal from Sorthern international Candelario Oliveira Tavares.

Results:
Avidia United 1-2 Mercia Bromham
Casuals Osteria 1-2 Secklow
Krytenia Emberton 1-1 Ousevale Borough
New Cefn Albion 1-1 Bradwell Saints
Notegia Rangers 1-0 Avidia City
Ousevale Juniors 1-2 Emberton Reds
Stanton Town 5-0 CF Avides
Stratford Rovers 4-0 Beckton Supermarine

Top Five At-A-Glance:
1. Mercia Bromham, 11-2-2, 35pts
2. Ousevale Borough, 10-4-1, 34 (GD +28)
3. Emberton Reds, 10-4-1, 34 (GD +14)
4. New Cefn Albion, 10-2-3, 32
5. Avidia United, 8-2-5, 26

Yes it may not be as sparkly, or interesting, or just plain good as the CMSC next-door but last season's thrilling title battle meant that there was almost a measure of excitement ahead of the new SuperLiga season. Last season became an epic four way battle between reigning champions Sporting San Marquez, Soluca duo Ciudad and Deportivo and Gozan giants El Nacional. As the campaign drew to a close it was Nacional that blinked first before Ciudad, distracted by Globe Cup commitments, fell by the wayside in the dying stages. But Sporting and Deportivo would duke it out right down to the final day when the sides met for a winner take all encounter in San Marquez. And shockingly it was the unfancied capitol city underdogs who took the title with a suitably exciting 3 - 2 win. Good times.

But in the wonderful, wacky world of professional football bad times are never too far away. As Deportivo coach Gabriel Vizcarra can tell you. After a summer in which the champions kept most of their title winning squad together and in fallback Javier Roldán (Deportivo Cordova), midfielder Miguel Hoyos (Alianza Jucaro) and Aguazul international Alvaro Sáez, looked to have made some excellent acquisitions, an opening day trip to newly promoted S.C. Goza seemed points in the bag. Funny old game ain't it? And wasn't it so very sporting of the champs to give the plucky underdogs a helping hand? Take a bow Andrés Vicente, the Deportivo keeper kindly fumbling Pablo Vidal's speculative shot from distance into his own net. When Eduardo Romeu bundled in a second in first half stoppage time the champions looked anything but. With a suitably fiery halt time rocket inserted up them by a furious coach Deportivo battered the hosts like a nice bit of haddock but without the craft of last season's player of the year Jésus Vazquez, since whisked off to Cafundéu, struggled to break down a determined Goza side, ably coached by former El Nacional midfield battler Mario Quiñónez. A late Javier Terán strike did lead to a thoroughly uncomfortable last twelve minutes for the home faithful but the Gozans held on for a famous win.

Romeu 45' (+1)

Less sporting on day one were Sporting themselves who, in the biggest name fixture of the opening day, knocked over El Nacional in a fashion that looked just a little too easy. A packed crowd at the Estadio Silva saw a vintage display from Agustín Durán's side, particularly from the new faces with Salvador, snapped up from Cafundéu's SC Lasft, forming a good understanding with fellow centreback Alberto Torres and Aguazul international striker Naike Leiva introducing himself to the fans with a couple of goals. Defeat heaped yet more pressure on Nacional's Nethertopian boss Otto van Belhamel who was already on thin ice after last season's fourth place finish and a perceived over reliance on his compatriots. Indeed no fewer than five Nethertopians graced the starting eleven and although Maximilliano Barone is a fine keeper and fallback Tyrone Soro looks a good addition, veteran defender Marcellus Valkenberg had a right mare. The fans want him dropped and, having received the dreaded 'vote of confidence' from club president Diego Ruano, the coach may not be far behind.

Over in Maturín, Ciudad looked ominously good. Long gone are the days that the capitol's mega club could steamroller through the league but a notoriously demanding fan base and trigger happy hierarchy have stayed patient with boss Hane Davis, despite his silly name and Candelariasian persuasions, because the former Caires City head honcho knows his stuff. Last season's domestic campaign may have faltered but a Globe Cup quarter final place kept the support interested and considerable investment in the summer have got them dreaming of titles again. A Sargossan record fee was forked out to D-League side Sporting Kildare to repatriate international star Marcos García Fernández and the playmaker responded by creating both goals against a strangely toothless Dínamo side. García Fernández's addition to an already talented midfield and with Cafundéuese goal poacher Zedervan, rising star Javíer Pozo and veteran World Cup winning big lump Adekunde available up front Ciudad could be the side to beat. At the other end the Soluca side's three giant centrebacks in front of rather wonderfully named Ederoño Manderiaga, newly acquired from Liga Aguazuleña champions Trecelunas, formed a formidable barrier. Certainly Dínamo barely made a dent.

Performance of the day, and nicely wrapping up this rather dull look at the contenders, without doubt occurred at El Merca where, in the clash between two former Sargossa national coaches, José Marín's Deportivo Cordova routed Quique Zaraté's Islanders with a typically cavalier display. In the past Marín's rarely dull gung-ho approach has led to oh so many sound stuffings (a certain Copa Rushmori fixture against Somewhereistonia springs to mind) but in Malak national team captain Alexis Wurka he may have finally unearthed a decent defender. In this kind of form Cordova will be tough to stop. Unless of course they revert to their useful Nutty Professor levels of erraticism, it is so a word, in which case they won't. Poor old Mercadel meanwhile, with a coach only appointed three weeks ago and the league's youngest squad, will improve. Possibly.

Mercadel S.C. 1
Batalla 57'

Depotivo Cordova 4
Escalada 11', 20'

Not that it was good enough to take the port city's side to the top of the table. That honour went to Porto Alegro Azul who hammered Segunda Liga champions Moruga S.C. 4 - 0 at the Estadio Azul, Vicent Reguero bagging a hattrick. Elsewhere in the other less interesting fixtures a lone Carlos Ramis strike was good enough to give Petro the points in Mercada against a frankly rubbish Defensor effort. Dunas Del Sol were surprisingly turned over at home by Rubio Bayamo, Alianza wilted at altitude in Torreón, Cartago Rojo continued their fine recent tradition of being a bit crap by losing at home to Sportivo Maturín and little S.C. Motril's debut appearance in the top flight ended in disappointment, Racing Soluca's veteran player-assistant coach Francisco Patiño rolled back the years with the winner in a 2 - 1 away win.

O-LEAGUE SEASON VI - PART FOUR

KFA Cup Round Four
So much for the shocks. Hastings, Aigburth, Newley, and Thackworth all fell to Premier opposition – though Aigburth and Newley did go to an extra thirty. Meanwhile, Ousevale's cup misery continues, as Casuals squeeze past on sudden-death penalties.

Results:
Casuals Osteria 2-2 Ousevale Borough (AET; FT 1-1, Casuals win 6-5 on penalties)
Ellisham 1-2 Norton
Hastings County 2-3 New Cefn Albion
Ilham & Welford 0-3 East Green Phoenix
Nenbridge 0-3 Camberley Town
Newley 1-2 Ousevale Juniors (AET; FT 1-1)
Stanton Town 2-1 Aigburth Athletic (AET; FT 1-1)
Thackworth Rovers 0-3 Mercia Bromham

Matchday Sixteen
Andy Le Lan's men slip off the top spot, with Yoshiaki Soma the man knocking them off the top at the Harbour Stadium. The result also lifts Stanton into the top five, at the expense of Avidia United, who are beaten to Casuals “Yo-Yo Form” Osteria.

Ousevale are the table-toppers once more after a comprehensive victory over Stratford, who find themselves back at the foot of the table; New Cefn Albion, meanwhile, defeat the Reds and climb to a highest-ever third place.

Results:
Avidia United 1-2 Casuals Osteria
Krytenia Emberton 2-1 CF Avides
New Cefn Albion 2-0 Emberton Reds
Notegia Rangers 1-2 Bradwell Saints
Ousevale Juniors 1-2 Beckton Supermarine
Secklow 1-0 Avidia City
Stanton Town 1-0 Mercia Bromham
Stratford Rovers 0-3 Ousevale Borough

Matchday Seventeen
Goals, and wins, in short supply here, with four nil-nil draws; Mercia make the most of it and go level on points with Ousevale at the top. Avidia United were the only other side in the top half to register three points, and they climb back into the top five.

At the bottom, Stratford won, Bradwell drew, and Avides lost; all are now on eleven points, five adrift of safety. Coincidentally, the three teams immediately above them (Beckton, Secklow, and Juniors) all have sixteen points.

Results:
Avidia United 2-1- Secklow
Beckton Supermarine 1-1 New Cefn Albion
Bradwell Saints 0-0 Avidia City
Casuals Osteria 0-0 Stanton Town
CF Avides 1-2 Stratford Rovers
Emberton Reds 0-0 Notegia Rangers
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Krytenia Emberton
Ousevale Borough 0-0 Ousevale Juniors

KFA Cup Quarter-Final Draw
One thing is for sure; we will have a non-Premier side in the semi-finals. Norton will play relegation-haunted Camberley Town in the last eight; there are also two all-Premier ties as Ousevale Juniors travel to last season's finalists Stanton, and New Cefn Albion entertain Mercia Bromham. The one remaining tie sees Casuals face a side from outside the top flight in the cup for the first time this season, as they face East Green.

Full Draw:
Norton (OL2) v Camberley Town (OL2)
Stanton Town (OLP) v Ousevale Juniors (OLP)
New Cefn Albion (OLP) v Mercia Bromham (OLP)
East Green Phoenix (OL5) v Casuals Osteria (OLP)

Matchday Eighteen
Mercia drop the ball big time. A shock goalless draw with Stratford means Ousevale put daylight between them and the pack as they defeat New Cefn three-one. Amidst all the chaos, Emberton Reds reclaim third spot by beating Avidia City, and Bradwell defeat Secklow to bring themselves to within two points of safety.

Results:
Avidia City 0-3 Emberton Reds
Krytenia Emberton 0-0 Casuals Osteria
Notegia Rangers 1-0 Beckton Supermarine
New Cefn Albion 1-3 Ousevale Borough
Ousevale Juniors 1-0 CF Avides
Secklow 0-3 Bradwell Saints
Stanton Town 0-1 Avidia United
Stratford Rovers 0-0 Mercia Bromham

Matchday Nineteen
I officially give up on trying to predict this season. Just when Ousevale look to be hitting top gear, they go and lose to Notegia “Who They?” Rangers. All this means it's Mercia back on top, and Emberton level on points with the Tigers.

At the bottom, all three sides in the relegation zone lost, whilst Secklow won and Beckton drew to help their survival chances.

Results:
Avidia United 3-0 Krytenia Emberton
Beckton Supermarine 1-1 Avidia City
Casuals Osteria 2-0 Stratford Rovers
CF Avides 1-2 New Cefn Albion
Emberton Reds 3-0 Bradwell Saints
Mercia Bromham 3-1 Ousevale Juniors
Ousevale Borough 0-1 Notegia Rangers
Stanton Town 0-1 Secklow

Matchday Twenty
Game on! Mercia lose to New Cefn, Reds and Borough win, and the top four are separated by just four points. Avidia United are still solid in fifth despite a draw with lowly Stratford, whilst Bradwell are in the drop zone only on goal difference after defeating Beckton Supermarine.

Results:
Avidia City 1-2 Ousevale Borough
Bradwell Saints 1-0 Beckton Supermarine
Krytenia Emberton 0-0 Stanton Town
New Cefn Albion 2-1 Mercia Bromham
Notegia Rangers 2-0 CF Avides
Ousevale Juniors 3-0 Casuals Osteria
Secklow 1-2 Emberton Reds
Stratford Rovers 0-3 Avidia United

Top Five At-A-Glance:
1. Ousevale Borough, 13-5-2, 44pts (GD +33)
2. Emberton Reds, 13-5-2, 44 (GD +19)
3. Mercia Bromham, 13-3-4, 42 (GD +18)
4. New Cefn Albion, 13-3-4, 42 (GD +15)
5. Avidia United, 11-3-6, 36

Commander’s Cup- Final
Icklyrri Icebirds 2-3 Tyrrin Royale

The season began with a massive amount of transfers to Tyrrin, mostly from Kalasion and Osarius. These were partially funded by the TSC, who wanted to see more international interest in the Commander’s League. Oclia received two Osarian strikers, while Mertag loaded up on midfielders. Royale established dominance early in the season, with convincing wins in League play and a 6-1 victory over Coranto in the Cup. Racaw and Oclia were playing well, while Icklyrri was giving up more goals than usual, pulling Aulay in favor of Juan Malik in their first Cup match.

Matchday Three saw some major upsets, the most notable being Kowa’s 2-0 victory over Royale. Oclia was the only favored team to win, with Jack Mumme scoring three times in their victory. The second matchday of the Cup saw all the favorites advance. Royale continued to hold the top spot in the League until Matchday Six, when Oclia upset them 3-0 to take the lead.

The third day of Cup play saw easy wins for both of the favored teams. Iclyrri was in the depths of a losing streak at that point, despite excellent play from Brecht. Coranto picked up its play after this point, and went on a small winning streak, even passing Royale to take second place.

Tyrrin picked up their play on Matchday Eight after a loss to Mertag, winning the rest of their games. However, this was not enough to catch Oclia, who were scoring goals left and right with their Osarian strikers. They became the first club to win the league besides Royale in eight years. Mertag and Coranto ended up third and fourth in the league due to tying instead of losing most of their games. Iclyrri tied instead of winning, earning them a lowly ranking by the end of the season. They still managed to reach the Commander’s Cup final against Royale, but the latter was simply too strong. Royale managed the 3-2 victory in a very exciting match featuring a goal battle between Bernard Brecht and Williamson. Brecht ended up the top scorer on the season with 13 goals, closely followed by Aaron Williamson with 12. However, it was the combined 16 goals of Jack Mumme and Calvin Harris that earned the Mariners their first League victory in a long time.

Oclia and Tyrrin get the TQCC bid as the League and Cup champions. Mertag and Coranto were the next two team in the League, and Iclyrri were the second place in the Cup, so they get Globe Cup bids.

Oclia Mariners TQCC

THE MEDICAL CUP GAMES

After so many seasons hiding the results of the football games in the medical games from public view, the Landau Institute has finally decided to reveal the scores of this nearly meaningless competition, as it is only a single event in the middle of an Olympics-type tournament involving other events more related with medicine, as the dyagnosis against the clock and the precise surgery, between others. But as the cup gives the TQCC and GC places of Estresse Intenso, it ended not being entirely unimportant. So, just some notes before the results:

- only teams strictly related with medical practices can participate in the medical cup games (eliminating this way teams like for example Security, Patients, University Workers, Monks, Administrators and even others like Nutritionists, Dentists and Pharmacists which are closer to what is needed)

- only the 32 best ranked teams in the league's previous season are allowed to join (and participate through a seeded draw)

- the cup involves only knockout rounds (single leg)

FACTIONS' CUP OF ESTRESSE INTENSO

While the Medical Games decide the TQCC/GC spots, the newly formet Factions' Cup determinates the SBCC spots. As the war in Estresse Intenso grows bigger, it becomes even more difficult for teams of different factions to face each other in football games. Therefore, this pre-season cup makes the teams play only against other teams of the same general faction, even though these are still rivals of one another. In the end, the champions of each cup go to the SBCC, with the preference order defined by the faction's performance in the last season - only the best 8 of each factions' division get to the cup. By the way, companies can apply to join (or those already in can ask to leave) the Office Buildings' league, the same with the Foreigners' division, which will accept teams of foreigners.

THE JOWENGUARD CROWN
Pre-Season competition to decide teams for International Competitions

After seasons choosing the teams to be directed to the TQCC, Globe Cup and SBCC through mysterious ways (although most followed a criteria, which changed once or twice), the CCFM finally decided to create a new competition in order to choose the teams to go to the international competitions to be played before the end of the Cafundelense season. In homage to the former president of the CCFM, Erasmo Carlos Jowenguard, the new competition was named the Jowenguard Crown. Played before the official beginning of the new season, is composed by some knockout rounds, involving teams which had good performances in the previous season: be those in the league or in the cup. The competition is divided in two "areas": the TQCC/GC and the SBCC, the winners of each one meeting in the final game to decide the Crown.

The first edition showed that the competition is a pure mess when deciding which teams would participate and which would be its format, and the CCFM directors proved that they are completely useless by repeating the same format and continuing with the mess involving this competition which is entering in its second edition. For the TQCC/GC area, the 8 best teams of the league were qualified (7, as the champion is already in the TQCC), together with the semifinalists of the last Empress Cup, and the last champion of the Second Division. Current First Division league champions (Petardos S/A in this case) wouldn't participate in the Jowenguard Crown and would receive an automatic TQCC spot. Of course, there were cases of a team qualifying in both league and cup criteria. But, in these cases, no substitute would be called. There are plans for a future expansion of the TQCC/GC area of the Jowenguard Crown, to include the 12 best teams of the league instead of the 8.

Seeds for the TQCC/GC area are the following: League 2nd (1st), Cup Winners (2nd), then the qualified through the league (3rd - 7th), those qualified through the cup (8th) and last the current Second Division champion (9th). Top ranked teams receive byes whenever necessary for the numbers

Former champions:

Edition 1 - Ranca Toco
Edition 2 - Petardos S/A
Edition 3 - Petardos S/A
Edition 4 - Atlético Jutense

See the results of the TQCC/GC area:

Round Zero:

(8th) Clube Comercial 5-0 Galáxia (9th)

First Round:

(1st) Atlético Jutense 3-1 Clube Comercial (8th)
(2nd) Dunboor FC 2-0 América (7th)
(3rd) Cafundó do Juta 4-2 Clube Imperial (6th)
(4th) Ranca Toco 0-0 Porto Lacruz (5th)
Penalties: 3-2

Globe Cup playoff (winners go to GC):

(5th) Porto Lacruz 1-1 Clube Comercial (8th)
Penalties: 5-4
(6th) Clube Imperial 1-2 América (7th)

Semifinals:

(1st) Atlético Jutense 3-0 Ranca Toco (4th)
(2nd) Dunboor FC 1-2 Cafundó do Juta (3rd)

TQCC Playoff (winner goes to TQCC/loser to Globe Cup):

(2nd) Dunboor FC 0-2 Ranca Toco (4th)

Area Final (both qualified for TQCC):

(1st) Atlético Jutense 2-3 Cafundó do Juta (3rd)

For the SBCC area, there is more organization, and it is easier to get which teams were qualified to play the competition and its format. There were no automatic SBCC spots, and fourteen teams were called, among relegated teams from the First Division in the last season, teams from the Second Division and last season's best Third Division teams. Of course, all of them are now in the Second Division.

The seeds are: last season's 17th placed at Division 1 (1st), 18th/Div1 (2nd), 19th/Div1 (3rd), 20th/Div1 (4th), top 8 not promoted of last season's Division 2 (5th - 12th), last season's Division 3 champions (13th) and last season's Division 3 runner-ups (14th). The first and second seeds enter only in the second round (quarterfinals).

See the results:

First Round:

(7th) Engenheiro Peres 0-2 Rio Bonito (10th)

HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - SEASON SIX (PART III OF IV)

Clausura Tournament

MD1:

Cerro 2-1 Hamanos
Nord Energie 0-1 Marinos
Montreux 1-3 Caimanes
Fontvielle 2-0 Eterna
Tannenberg 4-1 Valencia
Cardenales 1-1 Tallin
Slateport 1-0 Bezieres
Chiquito 2-0 Pumas
Alligators 1-0 Canalave
Pradera 2-2 Nacional

The Clausura started with victories for the "Big" teams and the champion. Fontvielle defeated Eterna Stars 2-0, Metropolis Alligators took revenge of the loss to the "Dragons" in the last Apertura, and Slateport began the defense of their title with a victory.

MD2:

Nacional 2-0 Cerro
Hamanos 1-1 Nord Energie
Marinos 1-0 Montreux
Caimanes 2-2 Fontvielle
Eterna 2-1 Tannenberg
Valencia 3-0 Cardenales
Tallin 0-1 Slateport
Bezieres 3-1 Chiquito
Pumas 0-2 Alligators
Canalave 1-0 Pradera

The "Stars" defeated the "Citizens" in the first National Derby in this Clausura. Valencia won for the first time in this Clausura, however, that victory against their rivals Cardenales does not help them in the Relegation, as they are still in relegation places. The two metropolitan teams and the "Bulls" lead the standings after two matches.

MD3:

Nord Energie 0-2 Cerro
Montreux 1-1 Hamanos
Fontvielle 1-0 Marinos
Tannenberg 2-1 Caimanes
Cardenales 0-3 Eterna
Slateport 2-0 Valencia
Chiquito 1-1 Tallin
Alligators 0-0 Bezieres
Pradera 2-0 Pumas
Nacional 1-1 Canalave

Slateport Bulls won their third match in a row in the Clausura, and they are sole leaders taking advantage of Marinos' defeat in Fontvielle and the boring draw between the Alligators and Bezieres. Tannenberg, Eterna and Cerro won their matches, and Valencia and Tallin are sinking.

MD4:

Nacional 1-1 Nord Energie
Montreux 0-1 Cerro
Hamanos 2-3 Fontvielle
Marinos 2-2 Tannenberg
Caimanes 1-0 Cardenales
Eterna 2-1 Slateport
Valencia 0-3 Chiquito
Tallin 1-2 Alligators
Bezieres 2-0 Pradera
Canalave 1-1 Pumas

Fontvielle Impact and Metropolis Alligators took the lead in the Super League, after their victories in Hamanos Town and Carloburgo and Slateport's loss to Eterna Stars. The "Stars" won their third match in a row, and are escorting the leaders along with Slateport Bulls and AD Cerro. Pumas managed to get their first point in this Clausura, however, they are still in last place. The Impact, Metropolis Alligators and Nacional are the only unbeaten teams in the Clausura.

MD5:

Nord Energie 1-0 Montreux
Cerro 1-1 Fontvielle
Tannenberg 1-0 Hamanos
Cardenales 1-3 Marinos
Slateport 0-2 Caimanes
Chiquito 1-4 Eterna
Alligators 2-0 Valencia
Pradera 2-1 Tallin
Bezieres 0-1 Canalave
Pumas 0-2 Nacional

Metropolis Alligators and Eterna Stars won and are first and second placed in the Clausura. The Impact failed to win in Cerro, and Slateport suffered their second defeat in a row. There are three unbeaten teams (Alligators, Fontvielle, Nacional) and five teams that have not win a match in this tournament: Hamanos, Tallin, Montreux, Pumas and Cardenales.

MD6:

Montreux 1-1 Nacional
Nord Energie 1-2 Fontvielle
Cerro 1-3 Tannenberg
Hamanos 1-0 Cardenales
Marinos 0-0 Slateport
Caimanes 2-1 Chiquito
Eterna 1-1 Alligators
Valencia 2-3 Pradera
Tallin 1-2 Canalave
Bezieres 3-0 Pumas

Matchday 6...Metropolis Alligators and Fontvielle Impact are fighting for the first place (and second and last berth to the TQCC). Tannenberg, Eterna Stars and SC Caimanes are escorts of these two teams. Meanwhile, Valencia and Tallin lost their matches and now, both teams are close to relegation.

MD7:

Fontvielle 1-1 Montreux
Tannenberg 3-0 Nord Energie
Cardenales 1-2 Cerro
Slateport 3-0 Hamanos
Chiquito 1-0 Marinos
Alligators 2-1 Caimanes
Pradera 1-1 Eterna
Canalave 0-0 Valencia
Pumas 2-1 Tallin
Nacional 0-1 Bezieres

Metropolis Alligators managed to be sole leader after this matchday with Impact's tie with Montreux, and their victory against SC Caimanes. In a surprising result, Eterna Stars could only get a draw in Pradera City, and Nacional lost their unbeaten streak with Bezieres' victory at their stadium. Tannenberg is escorting Metropolis Alligators with their 3-0 to Nord Energie.

MD8:

Fontvielle 1-2 Nacional
Montreux 1-1 Tannenberg
Nord Energie 2-0 Cardenales
Cerro 1-1 Slateport
Hamanos 0-2 Chiquito
Marinos 3-2 Alligators
Caimanes 1-0 Pradera
Eterna 1-0 Canalave
Valencia 2-2 Pumas
Tallin 1-2 Bezieres

The last unbeaten teams remaining in the Clausura were defeated. In a thrilling Metropolitan Derby, Marinos defeated the Alligators 3-2, and Nacional managed to defeat Fontvielle Impact. Eterna won and Tannenberg tied in Montreux, meaning that the three "Big" valladar teams are tied in the first place, and with the same points: 17. The difference between Metropolis Alligators (3rd, 17 points) with Chiquito FC (11th, 13 points) is just of four points.

MD9:

Tannenberg 1-1 Fontvielle
Cardenales 2-0 Montreux
Slateport 3-1 Nord Energie
Chiquito 1-2 Cerro
Alligators 2-0 Hamanos
Pradera 1-1 Marinos
Canalave 2-3 Caimanes
Pumas 1-2 Eterna
Bezieres 1-0 Valencia
Nacional 4-1 Tallin

"Stars" and "Alligators" are still on command of the Clausura with 20 points. There are two teams escorting them: Bezieres and Caimanes. Bezieres' victory made them enter -for the moment- to Globe Cup qualifying places after placing them as fourth in the Overall Standings, and Caimanes got a "golden victory" in Canalave City. Montreux and Tallin do not know what's a victory yet, and the latter team, along with Valencia are still in serious problems to avoid relegation.

MD10:

Tannenberg 1-0 Nacional
Fontvielle 2-0 Cardenales
Montreux 0-3 Slateport
Nord Energie 1-0 Chiquito
Cerro 1-1 Alligators
Hamanos 2-1 Pradera
Marinos 1-2 Canalave
Caimanes 1-0 Pumas
Eterna 3-1 Bezieres
Valencia 0-2 Tallin

After 10 matches, Eterna Stars is leading the Clausura Tournament with 23 points. For the pundits, this is a better campaign than the ones made for the team during the last three seasons. In the second place, we have SC Caimanes, team that, is looking for a "redemption" after the horrible campaign made in the Apertura. Hopefully they might reach the Globe Cup, at least. Both Metropolis Alligators and Tannenberg are next, and they would have to do a little more effort if they want a title (Specially Tannenberg. Note that Tannenberg is the only "Big" club that hasn't won the Super League yet.)
On the other hand, five teams are fighting for not to get relegated. Among them we have: Hamanos, Montreux, Cardenales, Valencia and Tallin. Valencia and Tallin will have to improve many things in just nine matches, if they want to continue in the Super League. The task for them is hard but not impossible...

O-LEAGUE SEASON VI - PART FIVE

KFA Cup Quarter-Finals
Another day, another big team going out. Actually, make that two. Mercia Bromham went to Parc Abertawy...and they didn't even get lousy T-shirts as New Cefn kayoed them. Stanton, meanwhile, loused it up against Ousevale Juniors.

Casuals were just that in an effortless win over East Green Phoenix, meanwhile, and Norton won the battle of the tier two teams with an extra-time victory over Camberley.

Results:
East Green Phoenix 0-3 Casuals Osteria
New Cefn Albion 1-0 Mercia Bromham
Norton 2-1 Camberley Town (AET; FT 1-1)
Stanton Town 0-2 Ousevale Juniors

Matchday Twenty-One
Still nothing to choose between the top four as we rev back into league action; all four of the top teams won, and with Avidia United's draw putting the fifth-placed eagles tem points behind the leaders, I think it's safe to say they're out of it.

Secklow crept away from the bottom three with a victory over Krytenia Emberton, whilst bottom club CF Avides kept their survival hopes alive with a win over municipal rivals Avidia City.

Results:
Avidia United 0-0 Ousevale Juniors
Beckton Supermarine 0-1 Emberton Reds
Casuals Osteria 0-2 New Cefn Albion
CF Avides 1-0 Avidia City
Krytenia Emberton 0-1 Secklow
Mercia Bromham 3-0 Notegia Rangers
Stanton Town 0-0 Stratford Rovers
Ousevale Borough 4-1 Bradwell Saints

Matchday Twenty-Two
Advantage Emberton. The Reds inflicted Ousevale Borough's third defeat of the season at the Isserson, claiming top spot in the process; Mercia claim second spot as they beat Avidia City, whilst NewCefn could only draw with Avidia United and stay fourth. At the bottom, meanwhile, Beckton claim what could well be a crucial victory over Secklow, and Ousevale Juniors continue their good late-season form, coming back from two early Yoshiaki Soma goals to defeat Stanton.

Results:
Avidia City 0-1 Mercia Bromham
Bradwell Saints 1-1 CF Avides
Emberton Reds 3-1 Ousevale Borough
New Cefn Albion 2-2 Avidia United
Notegia Rangers 0-1 Casuals Osteria
Ousevale Juniors 3-2 Stanton Town
Secklow 0-2 Beckton Supermarine
Stratford Rovers 0-2 Krytenia Emberton

KFA Cup Semi-Final Draw
A couple of meaty ties await; Juniors face Norton in Avidia, whilst Casuals and Albion will lock horns at Walton Gardens.

Full Draw:
Ousevale Juniors (OLP) v Norton (OL2) @ New City Stadium, Avidia
New Cefn Albion (OLP) v Casuals Osteria (OLP) @ Walton Gardens, Simpson

Matchday Twenty-Three
Emberton's hammering of Avides, coupled with stalling draws for Bromham and Ousevale, puts them four points clear at the top of the table and maybe, just maybe, it's time to dust off the red, white, and black ribbons. New Cefn defeat Stanton to claim third, with only goal difference keeping them behind Mercia; Borough drop to fourth.

At the other end? It's Stratford's turn to secure a vital win over Secklow, and how the Hoops are not back in the relegation zone defies logic when you consider the number of crucial six-pointers they've lost. As it is, they stay eleventh.

Results:
Avidia United 3-1 Notegia Rangers
Casuals Osteria 2-0 Avidia City
CF Avides 1-5 Emberton Reds
Krytenia Emberton 3-0 Ousevale Juniors
Mercia Bromham 2-2 Bradwell Saints
Ousevale Borough 0-0 Beckton Supermarine
Stratford Rovers 1-0 Secklow
Stanton Town 1-2 New Cefn Albion

Matchday Twenty-Four
Bromham have officially blown it. The Midlanders had the chance to rein in the leaders...and they choked. Big time. It's fourth place now for Mercia, and New Cefn are second in the league. Yes, New Cefn Bloody Albion.

The relegation zone is still three from six; Beckton won to give themselves some breathing space, whilst Avidia City also got out of trouble with a win in the Avidian derby to leave Secklow dangling precariously above the bottom three. Special mention to City's Tom Sesquin, too, who broke the O-League fastest goal record. He took just eight seconds to open the scoring at the New City Stadium...from a United kickoff. Loose passes cost goals, people.

Results:
Avidia City 2-0 Avidia United
Beckton Supermarine 1-0 CF Avides
Bradwell Saints 0-0 Casuals Osteria
Emberton Reds 3-0 Mercia Bromham
New Cefn Albion 1-0 Krytenia Emberton
Notegia Rangers 0-2 Stanton Town
Ousevale Juniors 0-0 Stratford Rovers
Secklow 0-1 Ousevale Borough

Matchday Twenty-Five
Well, that was a tasty dose of “What The Hell Is Going On”! Emberton Reds show their uncanny ability to throw away a good season as they lose to Casuals, Ousevale Borough somehow conspire to not score against bottom side Avides, and suddenly New Cefn are a point off the top of the table, with the top four back within four points of each other. Oh, and Avidia United and Bradwell managed five goals in the last ten minutes of their game, too – including a Zufriki Shari hat-trick. Who said the O-League was dull?

Results:
Avidia United 3-2 Bradwell Saints
Casuals Osteria 2-1 Emberton Reds
CF Avides 0-0 Ousevale Borough
Krytenia Emberton 0-0 Notegia Rangers
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Beckton Supermarine
Ousevale Juniors 1-1 Secklow
Stanton Town 0-0 Avidia City
Stratford Rovers 1-3 New Cefn Albion

Top Five At-A-Glance:
1. Emberton Reds, 17-5-3, 56pts
2. New Cefn Albion, 17-4-4, 55
3. Ousevale Borough, 15-7-3, 52 (GD +35)
4. Mercia Bromham, 16-4-5, 52 (GD +20)
5. Avidia United, 13-5-7, 44

Sorthern Football League, 2044 season

Shield

With the ban on (non-ursine) females playing senior football in Sorthern Northland recently having been bought to a crushing end the Shield for once, and perhaps the only occasion ever held some importance with it being the first competitive football match in Sorthern Northland to allow for unisex teams. Corcaigh marked the occasion by selecting a number of players from their under-16's girls team whilst Reading Town celebrated with their very own female Eulàlia Marxuach scoring a hat-trick to secure themselves the Shield.

Reading Town 3-0 Corcaigh

Division One

In the future a quick glance at the history books will say that Corcaigh with three titles in four seasons in the early 2040's returned to a level approaching the dominance they achieved by winning four titles in a row in the mid-2030's. In not to dissimilar fashion to last season though the Rebels were anything but dominant, reaching the top of the table for the first time only on matchday thirty-seven. With just a two point lead a one-all draw away to Oblast Rangers very nearly proved costly, and would have done had Heathfield City not been busy completing a spectacular choke with Chris McNeil missing a last minute penalty in their 0-0 draw with Sparrowbottom Athletic.

City spent almost the entire season top of the table, at one point having opened up a ten point gap over second-placed Corcaigh. Even with just four matches remaining they were six points clear. A one-nil defeat to relegation bound Little Greece Olympia, followed by a nil-nil draw at home to Newstoke saw the lead cut to just one point. A crushing three-nil defeat on the same day that Corcaigh beat Banna Rovers 4-1 at home saw City slip to second. The choke was then completed in dramatic fashion on the aforementioned final day.

Both Corcaigh and Heathfield City of course qualify for the Champions' Cup with Snowspire who spent the entire season looking like they would finish in third place. Castrograd and Sparrowbottom Athletic are to be joined in the Globe Cup by sixth placed Felland Marsh due to the result of the SNFA Cup. Oblast Rangers meanwhile were unable to cheat their way to not finishing top of the fair play table and as such will be left hoping that their entry to the Aeropag Football Invitational follows in the footsteps of Rothsbere Athletic's this season in being denied.

In fact, such was the relief at Rothsbere in being denied entry to the AFI that they went and got themselves relegated to make sure they would be ineligible for the next couple of editions! Going down with them were plucky Tetherton who somehow managed two seasons in the top flight and Little Greece Olympia, who sadly for fans of defensive football found a rather big flaw in the score less than a goal a game method. Happily though, Port of Clotaire reserves St. Patrick's were the team to stay up at Olympia's expense, thanks largely to the efforts of playmaker Jamie Hermannsson and winger William Tatarescu, both on loan from CMSC side Port of Clotaire. Slightly less impressive were the defensive pairing of James Mag Flannagain (who it should be noted has taken a fair bit of stick for seemingly losing a acute accent from his name, as well as having Mag rather than Mac in his surname despite Flannagain not starting with a vowel, they're nothing if not pedantic the St. Pat's fans) and Jamie Alvbåge. Despite a number of mistakes the pair have improved quite a lot over the course of the season and hopes are high for a successful second season of their loan spell. Particularly in the marketing department who are hoping the Pat's faithful can put aside their pedantry and adopt Mag Flannagain as enough of a fan favourite to get his name plastered over their replica shirts.

Division Two

An immediate return to the top flight for Juahzhou, whilst the two clubs they came down with struggled. Fenians looked like challenging for the championship in the opening quarter or so of the season, whilst Red Star Cork flirted with relegation during the same period. In the end though both clubs spent the majority of the season in the upper reaches of mid-table obscurity, something they could well be doing in seasons to come if the fortunes of Septentrionien de Finistère are anything to go by. The former SFL champions going about their business largely unnoticed to finish in eleventh place.

Bimlico almost gave up the championship to Juahzhou, a 2-0 matchday 33 away defeat to Reading Town seeing them slip down to second place as Juahzhou overtook them with a 1-0 win away to Vespucci. Bimlico retook the lead on matchday 37 though as they won 3-0 at home againsr Larne Valley Rovers whilst Juahzhou were held 3-3 in a thrilling home encounter against Marx-Stadt. Wins for both on the final day of the season along with a draw for Rode Ster Amsterdam and a defeat for Windlesham Town saw them joined in the top flight next season with Rode Ster.

Division Three

Two of the teams relegated from Division Two last season made immediate returns, much to the relief of Sundol and Swinedon's fans, and much to the disappointment of most other people in Swinedon's case. Revolutionaire it was however who went up as champions, and having already won the title they did their bit to keep Swinedon down by losing 3-2 at home to Eastlands on the final day. As is usually the case however, Swinedon unfortunately went and spoilt that by winning 1-0 away to Tiletston Rovers to secure promotion. Had they lost, Eastlands would've been up on goal difference.

At the other end that result proved costly for Tiletston, who having spent just a season in the third-tier were relegated by a single point. Going down with them were Castford and perennial SNFA Cup finalists and flirters with relegation, Lispole Strand.

Division Four

Another case of choke. Esteghlal Roudbahahr and Kelubol set the pace for much of the season and one point it seemed certain that the title race would be between the two. Whilst Esteghlal hung on to take the final promotion spot though Kelubol faded away to sixth. Going up with Esteghlal are Hightop Hill and Asinusford City, with Hill having taken over from Esteghlal in top spot on matchday thirty-five and then handing it and the title over to Asinusford on matchday thirty-seven.

Despite foreign media having recently reported Durness Pottery as relegated last season, the Potters did manage to win the relegation play-off and survival, even if only just. Having finished bottom a second-season in a row though, some Potters fans may be wishing the foreign media had got it right. The play-off this season was won comfortably enough, but they won't get any second chance should they finish bottom again next season with SFL rules stating that if a team finishes bottom of Division Four three times in a row they are expelled from the League.

Aggregate: Lengden Vale 0-3 Durness Pottery

Sorthern Cup

With the big clubs commitment to the Cup questioned in recent years 2044 will go down as the year that the big names retook to it. Somewhat.

Of the four semi-finalists three were Division One sides, with both the winners notably being the two teams that finished in the top two of that division. The final saw a surprisingly large winning margin with Corcaigh winning three-nil to do the double of the league and cup.

The non-League club to go the furthest was Lengden Vale whose run came to an end with a two-nil home loss to Reading Town in the sixth-round. In that run though their only 'giantkilling' was a one-nil home win over fourth division Dunfar. The most notable upset in the competition was possibly Hal-Luqa Ittihad's 4-3 win over Beningrad in the second round.

It's that time again...

... The blatantly useless NUMPTIES League! Squee! Everybody's favourite CMSC feeder is back, with no newgens and half of the players over the age of 30! Wheey! With no involvement from Daehangeij... Daehanjeiguk (I've never managed to actually type that nation correctly in my first try... Ever), Somewhereistonia and Sargossa because we didn't ask them once again! Woo!

Also, several years without a League Cup that's supposed to be named after an Ad'ihan broadcaster have occured. We might actually try to run one of those at the end of this season. Maybe introduce a proper cup with amateurs 'n' stuff. Perhaps an nswikipage while we're at it... Until that time, well, here's a table. Without any other explanations.

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? It seems like only a couple of days ago that the SuperLiga season kicked off and now its drawn to close with a familiar face at the top of the tree. Not that it was entirely plain sailing as for the second successive season the fixture computer throw up a final day decider. Last year it was the Estadio Silva that captured the public gaze, this year all eyes turned to Soluca and the ediraf Arena as surprise leaders Deportivo Cordova attempted to hold off the relentless challenge of Ciudad Soluca.

Ciudad, under Hane Davis, were on one helluva roll, having already wrapped up the Copa Sargossa, and the final day drama ended after all of twenty seven minutes. Ciudad simply tore their southern rivals apart. Javíer Pozo's sharp turn and shot in the box gave the hosts an early lead which was doubled when Marcos García Fernández drilled in a twenty five yard freekick. Another García Fernández speculative effort cannoned back off the woodwork only to be turned back in by Mariano Giménez to put Ciudad out of sight before the half hour mark. The second half saw a spirited fight back from José Marín's men, Alfonso Pineda and Malak national team captain Alexis Wurka both netting, but always looked vulnerable at the back and the win and title was wrapped up by veteran substitute Zachary Adekunde, with Ciudad's 100th league goal of the season.

20 Defensor 38 4 14 20 35 58 -23 26 (R)

The win was just reward for what has been an imperious run of form for Ciudad who claimed a league and cup double as well as registering both the season's highest home win, 6 - 0 against S.C.Motril, and away win, 5 - 0 over Porto Alegro Azul. Ciudad's joy was matched by the abject misery coming from city rivals, and reigning champions, Deportivo. The ediraf's other side could never quite capture their form of last season and finished well short of the pace in eighth. Sporting, possibly suffering from Cassa withdrawel, faded badly while an unusually solid Alianza side enjoyed their best finish since actually winning the title a decade or so ago. Dínamo meanwhile continued their run of finishing one place short of international cup places. Game of the season was the Goza city derby, a fixture making a welcome return to the calendar after a two year absence. A header from Nethertopian centreback Caerus Lamarti stole all three points for visitors El Nacional in stoppage time after a breathless match in which S.C. Goza, through braces from both Antonio Barrios and Eduardo Romeu, had led 4 - 1. Nethertope striker Carl Franssen had pulled one back in the first half and after the break a Francisco Fontova double and a penalty from Daniel Bravo levelled the scores before Lamarti's late header broke the home fan's hearts.

First up, the Corradini Cup. Again, we saw Willem Hamel send out his youngsters for this one, and they again reached the final, where they would face an old rival in Trothwands Evolution. For the later rounds, we saw an interesting lineup for Firewood, as captain Jermain Lewis lined up alongside his apparent successor Gabriel Russell in a very effective offensive midfield. Russell will no doubt be in demand this summer, but its unlikely the twenty year old will want to leave Firewood, nor will they want to let him go.

The final was billed as a showdown between the free-flowing offense of Firewood and the solid defensive counterattacking of Trothwands. Futhermore, OSN marketed the match as a face-off between rivals Lewis and Lubret. Bad blood apparently still exists between the two since the Baptism of Fire incident, and Lewis was certainly fired up. However...

Corradini Cup Final 2179-80
Trothwands Evolution 1-0 Firewood City

Again, Firewood crumble in a cup final, and as if to rub salt in the Firewood and Osarius captain's wounds, it was Malachi Lubret who scored the winner. This result would perhaps have a major impact on the rest of the season for the reigning King's League champions.

Highest scoring match: Trothwands Evolution 4-5 Greeningham City
Largest home win: Muirford Athletic 6-1 Greeningham City
Largest away win: Priesthood of Baal 0-5 Greeningham City

The King's League threw up some surprises this year, as we see a return to the top for Greeningham City. Last season's champions Firewood slump all the way to fourth, perhaps affected by their Corradini Cup final defeat to Trothwands Evolution. The period in which they picked up just four points from a potential fifteen - despite a stunning 7-2 win over the Priesthood of Baal - spread out on either side of the defeat to Trothwands seemed to define the rest of their season. Although they recovered on Matchday 27 to beat Turic 2-1 in the Thunderdome, they then followed it up with a defeat in Junipa. While Firewood slowly slipped out of the title frame, Burningham and Turic were chasing Greeningham all the way down the final stretch. In the end, it was Greeningham's 2-0 home win over Wellmont that clinched them the league title, even though Grasshoppers picked up an away win at Muirford.

At the other end of the table, Renneville condemned the Priesthood to a swift return to the Royal League with a 4-1 thrashing in the Bird's Nest on Matchday 36. Last season's playoff winners Junipa then ensured their survival on the penultimate day of the season with a convincing 3-1 away win over Blacktube Village, condemning Royal League champions Clefton Town to relegation along with Wellmont United.

The OFA Cup threw up the biggest shock of the season, as last season's bottom club in the King's League - Hastmead Diamante - battled to the final, where they met Jermain Lewis' Firewood City, playing in their second cup final of the season. Their third if you count the prestige match that is the Queen's Shield - which they also lost, btw. Despite having to play considerably less matches than their Royal League opposition to reach the final, Firewood arguably had a much tougher time of it, having to face Burningham City and Trothwands along the way. Hastmead, on the other hand, had to see off Highport Athletic and last season's overacheivers Renneville United.

Semi Finals

Firewood 1-0 Burningham
Hastmead 3-2 Renneville

The final saw Firewood heavily favoured, and Hastmead not given a chance, but the youngsters of Hastmead came through to cost the bookies a huge amount in payouts as they upset their far more illustrious regional neighbours.

2179-80 OFA Cup Final
Firewood 0-0 Hastmead (1-1 AET) (Hastmead wins 4-1 on penalty kicks)

There were allegations that Firewood maybe threw the match, knowing that regardless of the outcome they would be guaranteed a Globe Cup entry, due to Hastmead having already secured an entry into the Series B Champions Cup. These allegations seemed to carry more weight when one backstreet bookmaker named Orlando Florian as one of his clients, along with Jacob Dawson. It has been pointed out in various media sources that it would not be difficult for the goalkeeper to throw the match once it went to penalties. The OFA are investigating these claims at the moment.

------------------------------------

The Royal League, as usual, was only predictable so far. While its easy to predict which teams are likely to be in and around the playoffs and automatic promotion spots, its almost impossible to tell who will actually occupy them when it matters - on the final day of the season. As it turned out, there were four teams who could still have claimed the Royal League Championship on the final day, but Hastmead Diamante did it in style, thrashing Violia 5-1 away from home, condemning them to relegation in the process.

Real Jraxville had a terrible season, slipping from their usual mid-table mediocrity to a seemingly season long relegation struggle, which they ultimately lost on matchday 34, when they failed to beat Hastmead away, leaving them 14 points from safety with only twelve remaining. Homentat joined them on matchday 36 after losing to title chasing Masaka.

Going into the final day of the season, any team in the top ten could have ended up in one of the four playoff berths, although the first two were untouchable. Fort Mare beat Cymrwell to secure theirs, leaving just one space. The final spot would be taken by Masaka, despite their defeat at home to Druz, as Yurendam, Weestock, Kronkow and Komus all failed to win on the final day.

2009 Bank of Tentalon Supreme League

With two league seasons in the books, early indications are that Hartford City just might be Tentalon's answer to Banks from the West Zirconia league. Last year's 20-point league margin ballooned to 26 points in 2009. And it's as you were in the Champions' Cup, with Chadbourne City once again getting the second berth, although this time it was decided much later as they hung on to second place by just two points. Last year's Globe Cup representatives, however, regressed quite a bit, finishing 11th, 12th, and 16th this time.

Last year's bottom three in the Supreme League became this year's top three in the Prime and by a significant margin. Let's hope this isn't a trend...

With the usual Banks-Hornets duopoly being broken by Stanley United last time out, can the old guard regain their position at the top of the tree?

It was a good solid start for the aforementioned three, but also for Mort Park, who at half-way were three points clear of Banks and Stanley, with the Hornets a further four points behind.

Of course the Roadrunners have been in this situation before, only to collapse during the second half. A brief stumble immediately afterwards led many to believe we were in for more of the same. However, the chasing pack failed to capitalise, and at no point from then on were these four teams more than five points apart.

Going into the last match, Stanley United had dropped out of the title race. Banks led the other two by just two points, and faced a Crompton side hoping themselves to avoid the playoffs. Mort Park hosted St. Andrew's, while Bradley Hornets hosted Houghton Hawks. (oooh, alliteration!)

The crucial final-day scores were:

Bradley Hornets 4-1 Houghton Hawks
Crompton Town 2-3 Banks
Mort Park 2-1 St. Andrew's

taking the title back to where some would say it belongs - Banks.
Some would also argue that second place went where it belongs, with Mort Park being the bridesmaids yet again.

As for the Second Division,

12      Moorcroft Wanderers    Redwood Forest         Etruria

17      New Toronto            Moorcroft City         Tîm Cymru
18      Civil Service          Redwood Forest         AFC Stanton
** now playing as Mount Vernon

As I said, as for the Second Division, things were not quite so close - at first. At half-way, Stanton had a four-point lead over Currie, with Etruria a further point behind. However, a Stanton stumble saw Currie close the gap, and the two were no more than three points apart from then on. However, Stanton held out to take the title, while Currie secured their First Division return with the runner-up spot.

  18  Walton                    34   6   3  25   66  106  -40   21

So Bradley Swifts and East Snaith are relegated, to be replaced by AFC Stanton and Currie. The playoff will be contested by Redwood Forest, Etruria, Sephton County and West Coast Angels.

 18      Markham             Banks                   2-2aet (4-3pen)

For the first time in a while, the First Round went entirely as expected.

First Round
Anderton Town 4-3 St. Martin Medical Institute
Mount Vernon 3-1 Moorcroft University
Snaith Maritime College 1-1 Sephton County
Replay: Sephton County 3-1 Snaith Maritime College
Moorcroft City 1-2 Etruria
Oakley 7-1 Knifton Town
Underwood Town 2-0 Eastham Panthers
Anderton United 1-1 Ashton Rovers

AFC Stanton 3-2 Hilton Athletic
Shrigley Town 2-2 Kirkham Town
Replay: Kirkham Town 1-1 Shrigley Town (2-1 AET)
Redwood University 0-2 Wolverton Town
Currie 2-1 Felton Athletic

As did the Second Round - well, except for Ashton Rovers' shock 5-2 win over Bradley Hornets. Combined Armed Forces' 5-3 win over Moorcroft Wanderers was insignificant in comparison, as was Kirkham's 2-0 replay win at Sephton.

Second Round
Civil Service 1-3 Banks
Crompton Town 2-1 Oakley
Etruria 2-3 Mort Park
Houghton Kestrels 2-5 Bradley Swifts
Redwood Forest 1-2 Houghton Hawks
Ashton Rovers 5-2 Bradley Hornets
St. Andrew's 3-1 Wolverton Town

AFC Stanton 1-1 Anderton Town
Replay: Anderton Town 1-3 AFC Stanton
St. Martin Athletic 3-1 East Snaith
New Toronto 5-3 Tîm Cymru
Stanley United 5-3 Markham

The Third Round went almost as planned - except for Kirkham's 4-1 win, again after a replay, at St. Martin Athletic.

Third Round
Combined Armed Forces 2-1 Ashton Rovers
Taylor's Cross 2-0 Crompton Town
Houghton Hawks 2-2 St. Andrew's
Replay: St. Andrew's 2-1 Houghton Hawks
New Toronto 3-2 AFC Stanton
Kirkham Town 2-2 St. Martin Athletic
Replay: St. Martin Athletic 1-4 Kirkham Town
Mort Park 2-0 West Coast Angels
Stanley United 4-2 Bradley Swifts
Underwood Town 2-4 Banks

Tie of the round - and indeed of the competition - saw Mort Park win an epic 7-goal contest at Williamson Park, leaving them as favourites after Stanley United's defeat at Taylor's Cross. But let us not forget Combined Armed Forces' equally dramatic upset over New Toronto.

Quarter-Final
Taylor's Cross 3-1 Stanley United
Banks 3-4 Mort Park
Kirkham Town 0-1 St. Andrew's
Combined Armed Forces 4-3 New Toronto

The Semi-Finals went pretty much as planned, leaving the Cup specialists to face the perennial runners-up.

Semi-Final
Taylor's Cross 3-2 St. Andrew's
St. Andrew's 2-3 Taylor's Cross
Aggregate: Taylor's Cross 6-4 St. Andrew's

Combined Armed Forces 2-4 Mort Park
Mort Park 5-2 Combined Armed Forces
Aggregate: Combined Armed Forces 4-9 Mort Park

Were this an ordinary match, your money would be on Mort Park. On the other hand, Taylor's Cross do well in the Cup, and Mort Park do tend to come second a lot. So, what actually happened?

Final
Taylor's Cross 1-2 Mort Park (at Williamson Park, Banks)

At last - silverware heading for the STORMGroup Stadium. About time too.

Playoff and Academic League news to follow, but for now, here are the global qualifiers:

TQCC: Banks, Mort Park, Taylor's Cross (as Cup runners-up, Mort Park having already qualified).
Globe Cup: Bradley Hornets, Stanley United, Civil Service.
SBCC: AFC Stanton, Currie, Etruria, Sephton County.
Aeropag Invitational (subject to acceptance): Markham.

Stadium final bids:
Globe Cup: STORMGroup Stadium, Mort Park (capacity 47,500)
SBCC: KPM Stadium, Snaith (capacity 57,500)

O-LEAGUE SEASON VI - PART SIX

KFA Cup Semi-Finals
Both semis went to extra time, and whilst Ousevale Juniors' tie against Norton was somewhat of a snoozefest, Casuals eventually nudged out the Albion by the odd goal in five, late in the added thirty. All this means we have a Casuals-Ousevale final; just not the Ousevale you'd expect.

Results:
Ousevale Juniors 1-0 Norton (AET, FT 0-0)
New Cefn Albion 2-3 Casuals Osteria (AET, FT 2-2)

Matchday Twenty-Six
This could be one of the all-time shocks of Krytenian football. Avidia United beat Emberton Reds, and Mercia and Ousevale Borough bludgeon themselves into a nil-nil draw. Step forward New Cefn Albion, who hammer the Juniors six-one thanks in no small part to a Jason Rush hat-trick, and the former Series B Champions' Cup winners are top of the league. Hoo boy.

Results:
Avidia City 0-1 Krytenia Emberton
Beckton Supermarine 1-2 Casuals Osteria
Bradwell Saints 0-1 Stanton Town
Emberton Reds 1-2 Avidia United
New Cefn Albion 6-1 Ousevale Juniors
Notegia Rangers 3-0 Stratford Rovers
Ousevale Borough 0-0 Mercia Bromham
Secklow 0-0 CF Avides

Matchday Twenty-Seven
Would you believe it? New Cefn win, Emberton only draw, and Albion are suddenly four points clear. It's their's to lose now. Ousevale slip to fourth after drawing with Casuals, and at the other end, Avides are just ninety minutes from the drop after their latest defeat.

Results:
Round 27
Avidia United 1-1 Beckton Supermarine
Casuals Osteria 1-1 Ousevale Borough
Krytenia Emberton 1-0 Bradwell Saints
Mercia Bromham 2-0 CF Avides
New Cefn Albion 2-1 Secklow
Ousevale Juniors 1-0 Notegia Rangers
Stanton Town 0-0 Emberton Reds
Stratford Rovers 0-3 Avidia City

Matchday Twenty-Eight
Well, there go Avides, and no surprise really after an abject performance at home to Casuals. Stratford, meanwhile, score a vital win over Bradwell; could the greatest of great escapes be on the cards for the team who scored two points in thirteen games?

At the top, it tightens up somewhat as Albion drop two points in Tyfield, and Ousevale and Mercia both win; Eddie Jorgensen, meanwhile, has almost certainly sunk Emberton Reds' title chances. He got the deciding goal in the Capital Derby...three minutes into stoppage time.

Results:
Avidia City 0-1 Ousevale Juniors
Beckton Supermarine 1-1 Stanton Town
Bradwell Saints 1-2 Stratford Rovers
CF Avides 1-3 Casuals Osteria
Emberton Reds 1-2 Krytenia Emberton
Notegia Rangers 0-0 New Cefn Albion
Ousevale Borough 2-1 Avidia United
Secklow 0-2 Mercia Bromham

Matchday Twenty-Nine
One game to go, and the only thing we do know for sure is this; It won't be Ousevale's title. A draw with Stanton leaves them on 58 points; New Cefn's loss, meanwhile, sees them stay top but only on goals scored with 62 points, with Mercia second after their win over Casuals. Emberton still have an outside chance of winning the title after a two-nil win over Stratford – a result that leaves Rovers requiring a mathematical miracle of epic proportions to stay up.

Results:
Round 29
Avidia United 0-0 CF Avides

1783 season

Unfortunately, budget cuts in Vephrese sports have continued to take their toll, and prior to the 1783 season it was announced that the state championships would no longer be contested. For the time being, this leaves just 60 Vephrese clubs competing professionally.

For international qualification details, see bottom of post.

HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - SEASON SIX (PART IV OF IV)

Clausura Tournament

MD11:

Cardenales 1-2 Tannenberg
Slateport 2-0 Fontvielle
Chiquito 1-1 Montreux
Alligators 3-0 Nord Energie
Pradera 1-2 Cerro
Canalave 1-1 Hamanos
Pumas 0-2 Marinos
Bezieres 1-0 Caimanes
Tallin 0-3 Eterna
Valencia 1-3 Nacional

Eterna Stars defeated Tallin without any difficulty, and continued leading the Clausura tournament with 26 points. Tannenberg FC and Metropolis Alligators won their respective matches and escort the "Stars" in the standings, with 24 points. Fontvielle Impact and SC Caimanes lost terrain after their defeats in Slateport City and Bezieres, respectively. None of the teams figthing for avoid the relegation managed to win this time: Cardenales, Tallin and Valencia lost and if the Super League ended now, they would be send back to the B-League.

MD12:

Cardenales 0-2 Nacional
Tannenberg 0-0 Slateport
Fontvielle 3-0 Chiquito
Montreux 1-1 Alligators
Nord Energie 0-2 Pradera
Cerro 1-0 Canalave
Hamanos 1-2 Pumas
Marinos 2-2 Bezieres
Caimanes 4-1 Tallin
Eterna 2-0 Valencia

Another victory for the "Stars", and another week in the top of the standings. With this victory, they are still leaders with 29 points. Besides, Eterna was helped by Tannenberg's and Metropolis Alligators' draws as well. Fontvielle Impact, AS Bezieres and Nacional are starting to fight for the last berth to the Globe Cup and the berth for the Aeropag Football Invitational, which was confirmed to be for the sixth team placed in the Overall Standings. More loses for Cardenales, Valencia and Tallin, and they are closer to relegation.

MD13:

Slateport 3-1 Cardenales
Chiquito 0-2 Tannenberg
Alligators 2-0 Fontvielle
Pradera 0-1 Montreux
Canalave 1-1 Nord Energie
Pumas 1-2 Cerro
Bezieres 1-0 Hamanos
Tallin 0-3 Marinos
Valencia 1-1 Caimanes
Nacional 3-2 Eterna

In a thrilling match, Nacional defeated the leaders Eterna Stars 3-2. However, the "Stars" are still in the lead and six teams are starting to make pressure over them. The "Alligators" finally managed to defeat Fontvielle Impact, and Cerro is now placed fifth, after defeating Pumas in Maldonado. Bezieres are trying to get the last berth for Valladares in the next Globe Cup, and the Impact, Nacional and Cerro seem to be fighting for the AFI berth. Oh, and Montreux won! That victory in Pradera City allows them to take a breath in their quest for avoiding relegation.

MD14:

Slateport 2-2 Nacional
Cardenales 2-1 Chiquito
Tannenberg 1-1 Alligators
Fontvielle 2-0 Pradera
Montreux 1-2 Canalave
Nord Energie 3-0 Pumas
Cerro 1-1 Bezieres
Hamanos 2-0 Tallin
Marinos 1-0 Valencia
Caimanes 1-2 Eterna

With 32 points, Eterna Stars is the sole leader of the Clausura, but, nine teams are not willing to give themselves up in the quest for the Clausura title. Two of Eterna's most hated rivals tied, benefiting the "Stars". Fontvielle Impact, despite being placed in tenth place, are still hoping to reach the first place and defeated the weak Pradera. Also, the Impact are fighting with their arch-rivals Bezieres for the Globe Cup-AFI berth. Both Valencian teams (Cardenales and Valencia) and Tallin lost again. The B-League is waiting for the return of three of its most traditional teams...

MD15:

Chiquito 2-0 Slateport
Alligators 3-0 Cardenales
Pradera 1-2 Tannenberg
Canalave 0-1 Fontvielle
Pumas 2-2 Montreux
Bezieres 3-0 Nord Energie
Tallin 1-2 Cerro
Valencia 3-2 Hamanos
Eterna 1-1 Marinos
Nacional 1-2 Caimanes

After this matchday, the difference between Eterna Stars and Metropolis Alligators and Tannenberg FC was reduced from three points to just...ONE point. This would make the final of the Clausura even more heated and thrilling than the final of the last Apertura. Cerro and Bezieres got important victories that allow them to be fourth and fifth in the standings. Bezieres is also keeping a close fight with their arch-rivals Fontvielle Impact in the Overall Standings for the berths to both GC and AFI. In the next matchday, Tallin is not allowed to lose to Nord Energie, because if they do so, they will be relegated.

MD16:

Chiquito 0-1 Nacional
Slateport 2-0 Alligators
Cardenales 1-1 Pradera
Tannenberg 1-0 Canalave
Fontvielle 1-1 Pumas
Montreux 0-0 Bezieres
Nord Energie 2-1 Tallin
Cerro 3-0 Valencia
Hamanos 0-1 Eterna
Marinos 2-3 Caimanes

Metropolis Alligators' illusions received a hard blow when the Alligators were defeated in Slateport City. Eterna and Tannenberg won their games and they are still fighting for the Clausura crown. Cerro are now in third place and they are waiting for defeats for "Stars" and "Citizens" to hopefully, jump to the first place. As for news from the relegation zone, we have the first relegated team of the season: AC Tallin, who were relegated after losing to Nord Energie FC. Valencia, Cardenales, Hamanos AC and AS Montreux are still fighting for not to get relegated at the end of the season.

MD17:

Alligators 2-1 Chiquito
Pradera 0-3 Slateport
Canalave 1-0 Cardenales
Pumas 2-1 Tannenberg
Bezieres 1-1 Fontvielle
Tallin 2-0 Montreux
Valencia 1-2 Nord Energie
Eterna 1-1 Cerro
Caimanes 1-0 Hamanos
Nacional 1-0 Marinos

Eight teams are still with chances to win the Clausura title. Eterna and Cerro tied in a thrilling match that any team could win. Also, we must feature the shock Pumas gave to Tannenberg, and Nacional's victory in one of the Metropolitan Derbies. The three "Big" teams are still on command, Caimanes and Cerro escorting them. And Tallin...won when they did not need to win, well...at least they have their honour intact. In the next matchday, the Alligators will have to face a "tough cookie" called Nacional, Bezieres will visit Tannenberg, and Cerro and Caimanes will have to face each other.

MD18:

Alligators 2-2 Nacional
Chiquito 1-0 Pradera
Slateport 2-1 Canalave
Cardenales 0-0 Pumas
Tannenberg 1-0 Bezieres
Fontvielle 1-1 Tallin
Montreux 1-0 Valencia
Nord Energie 2-2 Eterna
Cerro 1-0 Caimanes
Hamanos 2-3 Marinos

Two teams returned the "favor" that their rivals in this matchday did to them in the Apertura: Tannenberg left Bezieres without any title chances after defeating them at the Olympic Stadium, and Cerro defeated Caimanes, team that had beaten them in all the matches between them played in the last two seasons. That victories allowed both teams to be second and third in the standings, with the same points the leaders Eterna Stars have (38). Below them, we have Slateport Bulls, with 37 points, Metropolis Alligators with 36, and SC Caimanes with 35. Fontvielle Impact, AS Bezieres, Nacional and Cerro are fighting for the GC-AFI berths, and Valencia become the second relegated team after losing to Montreux, team that successfully avoided relegation with this victory.

MD19:

Canalave 0-0 Chiquito

Pradera 1-2 Alligators
Pumas 1-1 Slateport
Bezieres 2-0 Cardenales
Tallin 0-3 Tannenberg
Valencia 2-1 Fontvielle
Eterna 1-1 Montreux
Caimanes 3-0 Nord Energie
Marinos 1-1 Cerro
Nacional 2-0 Hamanos

In a historical matchday for many teams, Tannenberg FC, the only "Big" team unable to win a Super League so far, won the Clausura Tournament. Also, a new team is qualified for an international competition: AS Bezieres, qualified for the Globe Cup along with Eterna Stars and Metropolis Alligators. And, Nacional, in their first season in the Super League, managed to qualify for the Aeropag Football International. Cardenales, Valencia and Tallin were relegated to the B-League. Despite Hamanos' loss to Nacional, Cardenales was relegated after being defeated by Bezieres. Here are the standings of the Clausura, the whole season, the B-League and the summary of the season:
