This tournament is named after Starblaydia's most-famous player, the first person to score for Starblaydia's own Under-21s, currently the fifth-highest goalscorer in Starblaydia's history, World Cup Winner, member of the World Cup Hall of Fame and one-time President of the World Cup Committee: Simeone Di Bradini. We present, for your participation: The 28th Di Bradini Cup, a.k.a. The 49th Under-21 World Cup!

U-21 World Cup: Felix's Goal Is To Win The Championship Says Aureliano Sanna.

Yep, that's right, the U-21 Felix national football team is back and ready for the U-21 World Cup / Di Bradini Cup 28 action. The team has changed a bit but has still retained it's core players from their spectacular 4th place finish in the 27th Di Bradini Cup/ 48th U-21 World Cup, which, at one point, was Felix's best finish in football. Two new players that are starting are from the team that has been dubbed as the "New boys of the block", that team is called Universidad de Santander. They two players are Miquel Vivas (21 years old), which leads the list in goals and the other player is, Mikel Abaroa's younger brother, Josu Abaroa (18 years old). Both players are great teammates together and are part of a venomous Universidad attacking front, that has claimed at least 20+ goals. Now that we are in the subject of individual players, here is the roster for the U-21 Felix national team for the U-21 World Cup!

Many experts, including I, have agreed, this roster is basically a mirror image of the last U-21 team from the last U-21 World Cup. Of course players that didn't preform well were replaced but the midfield, goalkeeper, defender (for the most part) has stayed intact with very little changes, the only major changes were the two players of Universidad de Santander, both replacing the top two forwards at the time last year. Now the question remains, the team is the same, but will they do even better? I sat down with Aureliano Sanna the other day, now he is a year older and wiser, he has answered my (and many others in Felix) question by saying yes. Despite the tough group we have. This is what he said, "Will, Felix do well this edition of the U-21? Of course! We have a solid team that is united by our experience from last year's attempt and we are very confident we can get a better result than the last cup." I then asked him about the two new additions from Universidad, he said this, "Those two players are scary, I am somewhat surprised a foreign team hasn't picked those two up. I mean one of their brother's [Josu's] signed a big deal with a team from Apox. Anyways those two have killer accuracy and can do what they damn please in the field. Great lads we got there."

Now lets review our team after we got some good info from the head boss of the U-21 team. The goalkeeper, Arthur Schultheis has been playing well, almost exactly like last year. Last year he replaced the leaving Kunibert Rosenfeld, and he did a excellent job against the best of the best from the FCL despite his young age. He was also a natural leader, inspiring and even at one point commanding the old veterans and youngsters a like in the pitch. Expect him to be one of the main men of this Felixian U-21 team. Other veterans from this team include Jon Vilmar and Sepp Beringer from the defensive side, both players excellent talents for their teams and has maintained consistency like they did a year ago. The two boys are Kaapo Samu of Cato, that was a substitute last year, now was promoted to starting play, he like the last two players mentioned has been consistent, and while he wasn't as loud or noticeable he has been getting better and is a solid defender for the Cato team despite the fact that Cato isn't doing so hot so far in the standings. Another newbie to the starting job is Lalo Urbina, like Kappo, he has been silent but explosive in defense play and has been great for the defensive back of Universidad de Santander.

Moving on to midfielders, that part of the team is the exact same core of players as last year's 4th place run. With Sebastian Krister leading the way. The former Santa Maria City man now in Polar Islandstates, which has the best league and finished 2nd in the latest edition of the World Cup, has been playing solid although he hasn't been as explosive as he was in the FCL, now the obvious reason is that the skill set is much tougher as no team is a bad team and all teams can pose a problem. Anyways thanks to him and other signups from other teams (and talent from home), Bjarnarey Flotilla finished at 10th place, better than what the experts expected. Moving on to Kunibert Mathias, he has been a solid man for the Dusseldorf F.C side contributing a lot of assists and has even scored a good handful of goals. Nickolaus Dürr has been the assist master and is in the top three in assists in the FCL with 8. He is truly a weapon for Felix and we would love to see him play in the senior team. Last but not least is Jonas Anselm, he too has played a solid season of football despite the placement of Cato right now, assisting 3 times so far in the season, despite his defensive mentality and skill set. We expect another solid midfield core. Now lets move on to the forward class.

Like it has been said for ages, it's amazing what a year of football can do to a line up for a national team ranging from senior level to the youngest of them all, U-15 level. This front 3 is no exception as the two of the three forwards were replaced, those two men that replaced the other starters were from Universidad de Santander, those two men where, Josu Abaroa and Miquel Vivas. Miquel Vivas came out of nowhere, after being dropped from so many practice teams from so many professional teams (Santa Maria F.C being one of them), this man lived a life of odd jobs, he did lawn service to make ends meet as football wasn't giving the money he needed to have a living. All that changed one night as Miquel Vivas was playing amateur football in Santander, a city that was on the brink of getting a football team in the FCL, a scout for the emerging team saw him play and he thought he was talented enough for the start up team. He was. He went to team tryouts and out of the 50 men that tried to make the forward part of the team, only 6 made it, Miquel Vivas was one of those men. Even there his fight wasn't over, he had to fight for his starting spot, and like the fight he had to join the team and get paid, he won the starting spot. But after all those trials for Miquel many experts expected a low scoring Universidad team, they were wrong, dead wrong. He scored 14 goals in 12 matchdays and lead his team to a 5th place spot just a point away from first. So in this U-21 World Cup, don't doubt this man because he will prove you wrong.

Another new boy is Josu Abaroa , the little brother of Mikel Abaroa, a football player and Arrats Abaroa, a swimmer for the Felix. Josu is just like Mikel in terms of talent because he can pass the ball, shoot and run. His journey was, to be honest, easier than his team mate Miquel. But that doesn't mean he had the starting nod, right away, he had to earn it and it wasn't till matchday 7 did he secure the job for staring forward. He has scored 6 goals so far this season. And lastly, we have Luca Esser, golden boy from Sporting Volker. He has been shining even after his father's death when he was 12 and he is currently living with his mother in Volker. He has been a great talent and he always does this thing where he kicks the field, from outside the pitch of course, picks up the soil and puts it on his chest and looks at the sky, as if he is saying the game is for his father.

Now that we have moved on from the player bios here is some info on the Group we have been drawn in and the teams we will be facing. We are in Group D and that consists of Sangti, Felix, Kriegiersien and Equestrian States. Yes, you read it right, Equestrian States is in our group, the U-21 World Champions. The other two teams in Group D are Kriegiersien and Sangti both teams finished third in their respective groups and failed to move on to the next round. But that doesn't mean we should ignore them. Before we give info on those two teams lets talk about the Equestrian States, those ponies have done a lot in the last World Cup beating nemesis, Free Republics in the final with a score of, 1-0, with Wither scoring the game's only goal and bringing the championship home to the Equestrian States. The team overall hasn't changed a bit as they retained a good amount of last year's championship team, meaning that they will be a hard team to overcome in the group stage. Interestingly enough, the Equestrian States will have a rematch session with the Sangti side, they tied 2-2. Seeing that that's the only game they didn't win, Felix's head coach will need to review that game and see if the weaknesses for the Equestrian side can still be exploited. Moving on to the Sangti U-21 team, these boys finished third in a tightly contested Group A. They haven't released their U-21 roster yet but we expect it to be almost exactly the same as last year's Sangti roster, which means they will be hungry for greater glory. Who knows maybe they can draw against those ponies. And last but not least is Kriegiersien, that team was completely composed of clones of the legendary Simone Di Bradini, one of the best forwards in Starblaydia and Multiverse history. We expect our boys not to be scared of the clones and we will pull a win.

The World Champions of Wight that are hosting the tournament just recently released the schedule for the Di Bradini Cup 28 / U-21 WC 49. In our Group D The Phoenix will be facing off against the Kriegiersien first in The Mausoleum in the evening in Wight. The mad scientists that have cloned Simone Di Bradini legendary footballer and hope that he could provide the Kriegiersien team more luck than last U-21 World Cup. The next opponent we will face is Sangti which as said earlier had a third place finish in Group A, as they failed to qualify for the next round. And lastly, we faceoff against world champions, the Equestrian States. We hope the U-21 team has gotten better enough that they beat the young foals in a game they call, hoofball. The Federation of Free Republics (FFR) is a federation of Republics with a weak national government (the "Federation Government") that has numerous checks and balances. The Republics, each of which has its own government, are relatively independent, although they are subject to the Federation Constitution and its numerous restrictions on what government can do. Most important among them is the cap on taxation, which makes it unconstitutional for government (meaning all governments in the FFR) to take more than 10% combined of anybody's income in taxes, effectively limiting the government. They are the nearest neighbor to Saintland, although that tiny island nation is over a thousand miles to the north of the northern-most Republic's northern border, and most Republicans actually tend to consider progressives worse than religious fanatics, even if both ideologies are considered extreme and contrary to Republicanism. This is the same team the FFR sent to last year's Di Bradini Cup and also to last year's World Cup and Cup of Harmony. The players on this team would not be considered the best players in the FFR or even the best U-21 players in the FFR. Republican athletes tend to have massive egos and they aren't interested in playing for their country. This team was the idea of Rule Theriault, a failed former manager who had led a team that was expected to contend for the league title to relegation. Theriault failed as manager at Petrograd United because the veteran players on that team, with their giant egos, did not respect their manager or his approach to the game. Theriault clashed with players because he emphasizes a team-first style of play and an intense practice schedule. To rebuild his reputation, he decided to work with younger players that would take instruction and was able to get a number of talented young players, even if most of the country's top prospects turned him down. This team made it to the finals of the Di Bradini Cup last year, before falling short against the Equestrian States. Despite requests from a number of professional players to be chosen for the national side, Theriault chose not to make any changes to his squad for the Baptism of Fire to avoid any risk of weakening team chemistry. Despite finishing 17th at the BoF and failing to qualify for the World Cup, Theriault once again chose not to make any changes to his side for the Cup of Harmony. The team would lose their first 2 matches at the CoH to New Sideburn and Filopines before picking up upsets against Jeru FC and Falcus. There are no large differences in ability between the individual players on this team. Backups can see playing time and Theriault will probably bench his starters if he feels the game is meaningless. Bolton is the team's best player, but he isn't much better than the other strikers. Assistant Manager Massimiliano Abdullahi will not be at this year's DBC, as he is currently coaching the National Beach Soccer Team, a team composed entirely of U-15 players, in this year's Beach Cup. Even without their assistant manager, Rule Theriault's Republicans have to be considered the favorite to win the Di Bradini Cup this year after finishing second to the Equestrian States last year.

In case you are wondering, Nova Hellstrom no longer recaps this team's matches. She was re-assigned by Sporting World after writing an article about how adbots are great when she was supposed to write a match recap of a World Cup qualifier. Sporting World has yet to hire a replacement.

National U-21 Hoofball Team - Di Bradini Cup 28 Roster

Team Background
Defending champions. No other two words heap more pressure on a team than those. It simultaneously sends expectations skyrocketing and paints an enormous target on the players as the team to beat. But it also speaks of dedication, and opens the doors for a possible repeat title, a rare feat in the world of international sports. It sets a clear goal for the team, and can be used to intimidate opponents into submission rather than giving them motivation to play at their best. Nobody wants to face a defending champion, if at all possible.

The last Di Bradini Cup's result was predicted by many, after the Little Ponies finished third in the tournament's 26th edition and the then-defending champs from the Blouman Empire failed to submit the proper forms in time to compete. Despite a rough set of group play matches, the Little Ponies made it to their fourth-straight DBC knockout stage, and then began an unstoppable romp to the final. First to fall before the stampede was High Heels, then Northern Sunrise Islands, and neither was able to get a shot by Gentle Breeze. But in the semifinals against Polar Islandstates, the Little Ponies made a statement to the world by not only defeating the much-respected Polarians, but by slaughtering them in a 3-0 beating that was total and complete. The Little Ponies' opponent in the finals was Free Republics, which had looked almost unbeatable throughout the tournament. But the Equestrians did what they had to do, and trampled the Republicans to claim the nation's first international title in over seven years.

As most of the Little Ponies' best players return for one last tournament at the U-21 level, the expectations of the fans, players, and coaching staff alike are higher than they have ever been before. No Equestrian squad has ever failed to advance out of the group stage, and the team has made it at least to the semifinals in the last two editions. The Little Ponies will surely be looking to continue their streaks in Wight, and will also be heavily favored to win the tournament with so many of the Equestrian States' best young players returning to the squad. But can the Equestrians make their magic one last time? Will team captain, and one of the world's best players, Rainbow Blitz, add another award to his increasingly-crowded trophy cabinet? And finally, the question on everybody's minds: will the Little Ponies defend their title to become the undeniable titans of youth hoofball?

Like the national team, the Equestrian U-21 squad receives its kits from two different companies, though the design for each is the same. Kits for the humanoid players (see above) are provided by Kirola Sportswear of Audioslavia, while those for equine and other non-humanoid players are provided by Generosity Sporting Equipment. The Equestrian kits were designed to be simple and easy to identify, using the national colors of purple and orange.

When many countries make this kind of statement, they are referring only to racial matters dealing with differences in skin color or culture. But the Equestrian States takes diversity to a whole new level, with dozens of sapient species living alongside each other in harmony. From pegasai to griffons, and humans to dragons, the Equestrian States is among the most diverse nations known to exist. But diversity has also had a unique and intriguing impact on the playing of sports in the Equestrian States, and hoofball is no exception. In the following paragraphs, the natural strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies of each prominent species in the Equestrian States will be explored, offering those unfamiliar with the Equestrian States a chance to explore the wonderful diversity that makes the Equestrian States a great country and gives our beloved national hoofball team a versatility that few others can hope to match.

Team Background

The national U21 football team of the Auroral Technocratic Union of Mizuyuki, commonly referred to as the Nova, will be making their debut on the international stage with their participation in the 28^th Di Bradini Cup, otherwise known as the 49^th Under 21 World Cup. The current crop of players in the U21 team were handpicked by the U21 manager Shirakiin Kurumi from the Nova elite development squad established three years previously. Widely regarded as the most promising generation of footballers ever produced by the Auroral Union, the U21 team, although relatively inexperienced, will be going all out to secure a first title for the country in this cycle's Di Bradini Cup.

The U21 manager, Shirakiin Kurumi, is an ex-national team midfielder who played with the current national team manager Ishikawa Haruka during their playing days. Being a part of the record breaking Okinawa Breeze team that won the domestic league title and scoring more than 100 goals over the course of 38 games, Shirakiin espouses a possession based strategy that focuses on rapid recycling of the ball and control of the game. While this may be similar to Ishikawa's approach at senior level, there are still a large number of appreciable differences between their tactics. The two are similar in that their teams always seek to assert its authority on proceedings and dominate the opposition thoroughly. However, Shirakiin places rather more emphasis on effective use of substitutions and tactics compared to Ishikawa. Another major difference is that Shirakiin teams are far more disciplined and are often set up to efficiently snuff opposition out, while Ishikawa focuses on irrepressible attack to quell their opponents.

For years and years scientists had gathered material, magic and prayers to the soccergod to clone and with the use of catalysts and strawberrysirup, form the best soccerplayers of all time. They failed and got dumped.

Shirakiin Kurumi "had her hand forced" in first team matters for the Di Bradini Cup

Now this is something that all footie fans can look forward to. The Mizuyuki FA has just confirmed the national U21 team's participation in the prestigious Di Bradini Cup, which will kick off this Sunday.

Shirakiin Kurumi - Will she or won't she?

According to the official roster that was submitted to the organisers of the competition as well as posted on the FA's website, it appears that national team manager Ishikawa Haruka will indeed not be leading the Mizuyuki team to Wight. Rather, the less renowned but equally competent Shirakiin Kurumi, of Okinawa Breeze fame, will be tasked with winning a first football title for the Auroral Union.

All well and good. However, there is a caveat. The bad news surfaced hours later after the official announcement from the FA, with the official roster updated to include the names that will be representing the nation in Wight. Lo and behold, virtually the entire starting XI from our unsuccessful Baptism of Fire and World Cup campaigns make the final cut.

As a football fan with even moderate intelligence, one has to question the selections made by the FA. A couple of days previously, speculation was already rife that Shirakiin would take Ishikawa's place in the dugout in her capacity as U21 team manager for the duration of the Di Bradini Cup. At the time, Shirakiin convened a press conference, in which she dropped a hint that she was unwilling to lead the Mizuyuki U21 to the DBC if it meant she had to work with players that were selected for her.

Shirakiin reportedly said : "Regrettably, my hand was forced in some critical decisions regarding first team matters, and as such I find myself questioning my ability to work with the FA as well as the FA's motive in undermining my position as the U21 manager." The mass media immediately picked up on her comments and interpreted it as "I'm dissatisfied with the current FA leadership for interfering with my work, and I am now considering stepping down if the matter isn't resolved."

For once, the rumour mongering sports journalism so widespread in modern days seems to be right on the money with this particular dissection of Shirakiin's words.

Is Ishikawa responsible for the shambles going on?

What's going on here? Is the FA overstepping its jurisdiction to the extent that it is now interfering with first team affairs? Is it Ishikawa who has forced the FA's and Shirakiin's hand here? It is my opinion that Shirakiin should be allowed to work with her preferred players, rather than having an unfamiliar and possibly dissenting squad foisted on her. What good can come of it? If Shirakiin is forced to lead the U21 regardless of her protests, can we presume that she will be able to squeeze every last drop of potential out of the players?

The answer is clearly no. Honestly, I cannot see a good reason for this seemingly ridiculous move. There cannot possibly be any good to be derived from the situation, and the standoff between Shirakiin is clearly causing a rift between her and the rest of the FA, including Ishikawa. The only logical voice to free itself from the whole fracas is that of former national coach Asahi Yui, who has come out strongly in defence of Shirakiin.

I quote verbatim : "It is a disgrace that Shirakiin is forced to adhere to such draconian rules, set by imbeciles who don't have a single inkling what they're doing. Football is about promoting harmony and cooperation, not spreading trouble and dispensing disunity among the players and staff."

A concise summary of the current situation. But wait a minute. Asahi clearly mentioned the word rules, in conjunction with her use of the word draconian in her statement.

So what are we to make of this? Is there a legally binding document, signed by all FA employees, that expressly bars them from disobeying orders from their superiors? Or could it be that there is an unspoken agreement that anybody who contravenes the FA's stance on an issue gets slapped with lifetime bans from domestic football? And of course, one cannot discourse on Mizuyukian football without mentioning the possibility that the whole lot of them are certifiably insane and clear out of their minds.

The true form of the evil schemers at the FA?

If it were the former two, why hasn't anyone screamed bloody murder and raised the authorities yet? This is clearly a violation of employee's rights, and would contradict Premier Reizei Mikoto's election pledge of ensuring the eradication of unfair treatment of employees. Such a contravention, were it true, would effectively end the reign of the current FA as a body recognised by the government; in fact, I have no doubt that the Premier would come down on the offenders like a tonne of bricks if solid evidence were to be produced. This seems very far to left field; it is highly unlikely that the FA's iron curtain of secrecy could have held strong for so long without being blown to smithereens by a random expose if such a scheme really were to exist.

And let's not discuss the possibility that the FA may be manned by a bunch of raving lunatics whose sole purpose of existing is to ruin all semblance of sport in the Auroral Union and tarnish the nation's reputation into the bargain. I could go on for days on end about that, to say nothing of the seemingly limitless blogs and media lining up to dump the trash on the FA's supposed idiocy.

As I see it, there are only two pertinent solutions to the present predicament the Mizuyuki FA find themselves in. They can release their iron grip on the steering wheel, allow Shirakiin to assume full control over first team matters and take on the supporting role that the FA of any country should be. Or they can throw caution to the wind and risk public ire by sacking Shirakiin for her dissent and appoint a U21 coach easier to bend to their will. Of course, from the neutral point of view the first option is undoubtedly the prime choice, but the powers that be at the FA might have contrasting opinions.

Mizuyuki's football fans can only hope that a swift resolution is found and the team able to fully concentrate on the upcoming campaign. The Di Bradini Cup's already hard enough to win without our own FA throwing a spanner into the works.

Bio: Rigutti is Valablaslav's first choice as a goalkeeper as he's probably one of the few goalkeepers who can be considered rather good. Truth is this generation just doesn't seem to get any good goalkeepers, even though they all suffer from constant bombardments due to living in a country with one of the most attacking styles ever. Rigutti is usually the very firm guy, capable of standing out when he's needed, but he's not that out of the ordinary. After all, overthrowing Lisdiren from his throne will be very difficult, if posisble at all.

LB:
Name: Leo Fakkotti
Age: 21
Team: Avenida Principal
Notable Skills: Very balanced, knows how to defend and attack and blends both perfectly, can easily put up with pressure
Bio: Fakkotti is one of Avenida Principal's best players, and one of the few players of the team who canc laim to already have won something at this age. Having won the FFL a few years ago, when he was still young and even then consistently a starter, he's already able to put up with pressure well, and he's got enough experience to lead the team. He's not the captain however, but he's still a very important part of the team inside the field.

CB:
Name: Rancisc Faró [CAPTAIN]
Age: 20
Team: Melville Celtic (Polar Islandstates)
Notable Skills: Fast defender, very skilled with the ball and with impeccable reflexes
Bio: Dandalleion's half-brother by his mother side, who seems to take after him in many ways. To start off, he's incredibly fast as well, he's very skilled and he started his carrer with swamp football as well. They both have the same way of running, dribbling, passing and reacting that you can clearly notice is special in some way when you see them. He started his association football career at Northern Sunrise Islands, with Project +90, a youth team from said country, but quickly moving to Melville Celtic, a Polarian Team. Maybe this is the main difference between him and is brother; Vilita's weather is the Polar opposite of the Islandstates. Pun fully intended. He's a starter for the national team, and the most obvious captain choice ever, as he's a very important leader of the national team at a very young age.

RB:
Name: Santos Alaminos
Age: 19
Team: Jungle Strike (U-19 team)
Notable Skills: Constant offensive threat, tireless, very god defensively
Bio: Alaminos is the only player in this team to be able to claim that he's won the youth champions' cup, and he might as well be the only one this DBC, as the Youth Champions' Cup is a relatively new invention. Alaminos is a constantly and consistently threatening player, capable of coping with pressure easily, and very skilled. He can get long passes to wherever he wants and with incredible precision. Most likely, however, his talent lies in how he will do anything to recover the ball. He's very gifted defensively-speaking as well, but he's tireless when it comes to that, so that's a plus too. His sliding tackles are incredibly precise, as he's got kind of a "vision" for them: he can tell whether he'll get there or not, thus sliding a lot more than usual yet not committing more fouls than anyone else. He's also willing to help the team at his expense, like receiving a red card to stop a goal or passing the ball when facing the goalkeeper to make sure the ball enters the opponent's goal. Santos is among the most promising players of this generation, and he's thought to be about to jump to the next level: the national team.

CDM:
Name: Armando Elevado
Age: 18
Team: Avenida Victoria (U-19 team)
Notable Skills: Very defensive, can play decently offensively
Bio: Elevado is one of the many high quality defensive midfielders Avenida Victoria has managed to form with its youth system. He's a very passionate player, but not one that gets carded every single match. Much to the contrary, he's very clean when recovering the ball, and thinks that comitting a foul makes you look as a bad player, unless it's a pretty obviously necessary foul. Armando hasn't got the chance to make his debút yet, but he's at the top of the waiting list of the very few players with the privilege to play at La Gran Avenida with the crowd full of people supporting your team.

LM:
Name: Yülàáê Mî
Age: 19
Team: AFC Damaciu (Kinitaria)
Notable Skills: Fast and talented, very high football IQ
Bio: Yülàáê and his brother play almost identically; it's difficult to tell who is who if you don't look at their faces (thank God they're not identical twins!). Their main difference, however, is that Yülàáê is left-footed. This is the main reason why he plays as a left midfielder while his brother plays as a right midfielder. There's lots of hopes for this young man, and he'd better not disappoint. He's recently been bought along with his brother to AFC Damaciu of Kinitaria. As one of the few national team players, he's also one of the most experienced, obviously.

RM:
Name: Gâyö Mî
Age: 19
Team: AFC Damaciu (Kinitaria)
Notable Skills: Always relaxed, very good dribbler
Bio: Gâyö's style is the same as Yülàáê, but he's right-footed instead. Gâyö is particularly renowned for liking to play some tricks on other players when his team is winning by 4-0 or more, but this last scenario isn't frequent anyways. He's very playful and difficult to anger, mainly because he thinks of football as a time to relax. He's particularly thankful to be paid for relaxing.

CAM:
Name: Ikkon Karrka
Age: 19
Team: Barbury Town (Apox)
Notable Skills: Aggressive, incredibly skilled, good playmaker, very persistent, incredible long shots including free kicks
Bio: Ikkon Karkka is part Hujukian, part Farf, though more of the latter than the former. Born in Hujukialand, and having lived there for four years during his childhood, he's inevitably aggressive. Hujukialand is the very definition of a hell-hole, where you're statistically dead before you reach ten. Karkka is probably the most offensive player of the team, as well, as having been born in a place that plays so offensively and having been brought up in Farfadillis just grants you some kind of mindset for football. His dribbling is impressive and his shots almost unmatched. He can dribble anyone but is usless excrement when it comes to defending; he's the best possible player for a team like this. He plays at the national team as well, as his job there differs in no way.

CAM:
Name: Likko Sendero
Age: 20
Team: Fragardallians
Notable Skills: Likes to dribble, good playmaker
Bio: Sendero is, unfortunately for him, a central attacking midfielder. This means pretty much only one thing, and that is that he's got virtually no chances of getting to the national team if it's not as a substitute. Karkka and Tuzzio seem to be very difficult to replace right now, but he's got this Di Bradini Cup as a chance to forge himself some fame and overshine Karkka, who seems to have outrun him by now. Nonetheless, Sendero is a very good player, otherwise, he wouldn't be one of Farfadillis' U-21's starting central attacking midfielder.

LW:
Name: Pierrhe Rossi
Age: 19
Team: La Nueva Avenida (U-19 team)
Notable Skills: Skilled at dribbling down the flank, very good at crossing, very good at scoring headers
Bio: Rossi is one of La Nueva Avenida's most promising young players, and one of the few to not concentrate on constantly scoring goals. Rossi is a very good dribbler, crosser and header. This, combined with Morsón's characteristics (exactly the same), makes this team's attacking duo blend perfectly for scoring chances, even though it makes its tactic deviate a bit from the national team's.

RW:
Name: Toño Morsón
Age: 19
Team: Avenida Victoria (U-19 team)
Notable Skills: Skilled at dribbling down the flank, very good at crossing, very good at scoring headers
Bio: With the same characteristics as Rossi, and playing at the rival team, they make up the perfect duo, and the strategy is based around them even though they aren't as good as some other players in the team. They're not that likely to get to the national team, specially with Dandalleion at such a good moment and so much competence for the other spot, which Mêrí seems to have won in the end. However, they can shine now, so let them do it.

Age: 21
Team: Avenida Principal
Notable Skills: Overall decent
Bio: Loisano is just the best average goalkeeper out there, who happens to be a sub for Avenida Principal, one of Farfadillis' best teams in the present, even though it's very new to the FFL, having won the tournament for the first, and up to now only, time in their first season. Loisano is the most obvious choice if Rigutti gets injured or sent out... being the only option left.

LB:
Name: Fabrifé Rhaolez
Age: 17
Team: La Nueva Avenide
Notable Skills: Fast defender
Bio: Rhaolez is a promising future player from the Novans' youth academy, but he's currently a bit too young to justify a place in the starting XI, with someone like Fakkotti taking that place as well. Rhaolez is very fast and can defend very well, but he's a bit imprecise with the ball. Still a green apple, he hopefully will end up red.

CB:
Name: Cleto Mata
Team: Avenida Victoria
Age: 18
Notable Skills: Likes to dribble his way out of the box, excellent defender
Bio: After being the team's star in the first U-15 World Championship, Mata's the first player from that squad to make it to the U-21 squad, even though it's as a substitute for the time being. Mata is an excellent dribbler, knowing exactly when the defender is going to attempt to take the ball from him, and having more than just a few tricks up his sleeve. Mata is also very good at creating chances when he finds holes in the opponent's defense. He's a pretty safe defender, too. However, as he's facing competition from the national team's starting centre back, he'll have to wait a bit.

LM:
Name: Risko Kâí
Age: 17
Team: Mâ Âlâmëómë
Notable Skills: Impeccably fast, very good at dribbling and defending
Bio: Mâ Âlâmëómë's current star, and one of the most promising players from this squad as well. He faces the exact same problem as Mata, having to face a national team player for the starting position. He's incredibly fast and balanced, obviously experienced as well having played many first division games.

CDM:
Name: Luis Sangano
Age: 19
Team: Avenida Victoria
Notable Skills: Good defending
Bio: Sangano is very good defending, but he's just so terrible when it comes to dribbling or passing that he just doesn't make the cut for the starting XI, unlike Elevado, his teammate, who is decent at this regard. Sangano is still a pretty good choice to substitute a striker when the time to park the bus has arrived.

ST:
Name: Ji'ako Aukando
Age: 20
Team: Feardallis' Wanderers
Notable Skills: Poacher
Bio: Aukando is an above-average poacher, seemingly called here because of the Wanderers' desperate need to have someone in some level of the national team... and their money, consequently. Still, he's a pretty decent player, and he seems to be good at scoring goals in the easiest possible ways.

It’s Di Bradini Cup Time. Is Tournament Good or Bad?

Once again, the soccer playing world will kick off its Di Bradini Cup, with the 28th edition held in the nation of Wight, who recently won World Cup 65. There are going to be a lot of supporters of the tournament, and they will immediately point out the list of Cassadagan players who’ve had their kit number retired, because all but Courtney Ferguson are graduates of the Di Bradini Cup. Therefore, this tournament must be a success. CASE President Meaghan Bateman, and her predecessor, Stacie Kerrigan-Fraser have been vocal in their support of it, and Cassadaigua has participated in the vast majority of these things since the nation became active in international sports.

But one name on that retired list stands out for why this tournament is not all roses. Jessica Schanke. As the years go by, her story becomes more and more forgotten, and that is really a shame. We remember what Jessica may have done for the senior team, but all of that almost never was. We hope you remember. Jessica was fortunate. Abducted as a young 16-year old looking to make her way and make a positive impression on the national coaches, and she became a victim to a psychotic stalker who used the fact that he could slip past security of another nation to his benefit. Overall, we haven’t had many tragedies like this, and it may stand to reason that this incident served as a welcome call to these other soccer associations hosting this tournament in their large cities and huge stadiums as if this was a competition for adults, that these are still kids. Many of them teenagers, some a couple years older, but all very much impressionable and vulnerable to the dangers of the outside world.

Wight has never hosted the Di Bradini Cup before. It’s a great soccer nation, and we would say that even if they were not the reigning World Cup Champions. Cassadaigua will be playing in Group C, and will be playing in stadiums that have capacities of 43,000 and 32,000; for most of the players, this sure beats the high school fields they were playing on before hand. Caitlyn Edwards, serving as the captain this year is one of the few that were part of the last Di Bradini team loves it, “It’s such a thrill to be playing in these amazing stadiums and in some of the greatest cities in World. Going to Wight, who just won the World Cup is going to be really exciting, I can’t wait to see how excited the people here are!” You’d expect that response. If you’re a player, you have to be excited. But we also asked Edwards if there is any concern that what happened to Jessica Schanke a long time ago could happen again. “I’m not worried. Silly to get worked up over that!” Spoken like a 21-year old. Players will have a chance to bond with other players from other countries, and if you’re Cassadagan, that means you will likely have many teenage boys seeing if they can get you drunk afterwards. There have been no horror stories about that yet, but who knows if it will happen eventually. Head coach Erica Lambert insists that she will keep a close eye on the team, but that the players have always shown the ability to focus on what is important. For these kids, this is a serious tournament, after all.

And so the glamor and pageantry will begin. Participating nations will provide press releases in the same way that they would in the World Cup, but as Cassadaigua knows very well, this tournament is not about wins and losses, it is about the experience, and developing players. That’s a pretty impressive list of retired players that played in the Di Bradini Cup before, wasn’t it? And not a single one ever got past the quarterfinals in this tournament. We hope that the world does not lose sight of that. The Di Bradini Cup is about player development. It is not a consolation prize World Cup.

Now for the Analysis of the Players who are predicted to perform strongly for Callumackbar in the tournament

Lukas Shore:Young left back who plays for Callumackbar Premier League Team Sporting Quara He broke into the First Team mid-season has been a key player ever since, had the highest goals and assists for a defender in the Premier League last season and was part of the Callumackbar Premier League Team of the Season, the only U-21 to get in this season.

Jack Price This gifted Playmaker plays for Last Season's title winners: Wolverhampton Admirals and although he only starting playing towards the end of the season, his talent shone through and he has already tipped to be a star for the national team.

Mohammed Sakoura This young, pacy striker plays for Ackbaria United, (Though was on loan in the lower leagues for the majority of the season) returned from his loan with three games to go in the Premier League, scoring 4 times in those matches. Along with his exceptional record in his two loans in the lower leagues, he was a certain choice for the #9 Spot.

Samuel Richards The most experienced member of the squad, having played the most league games for his club and having the most U-21 Caps in the squad with 38. His time in the U-21 team is short, as he will turn 22 a few days after the tournament and is tipped for a call-up to the Senior Team. He plays for Ackbar City.

We're in the Di Bradini Cup and we're going to win

With the primary elections in full swing as the parties choose their candidates to become the next Consul, I understand if you aren't especially interested in international sports at the moment. I have also been thoroughly entertained watching the complete train wreck known as the Progressive primaries. That last debate was true comedic gold. Do these Progressive politicians know how crazy they sound to normal people? I'm not quite sure and actually I'm scared that they actually believe the nonsense they talk about. They're so crazy that they almost make the Party for National Greatness sound reasonable by comparison and we all know what a tough feat that is.

But, if you're reading Sporting World, you probably don't want to read political commentary. There are literally millions of places within our Federation where you can read such commentary, so there's no point in my writing it. No, you're reading this article for more information on the Di Bradini Cup. The Di Bradini Cup was where our journey started. Although I have also entered the National Soccer Team in the Acedonian Premier League, the Di Bradini Cup remains a priority event for me and for each and every member of this team. We have entered the Di Bradini Cup for the second time because we have unfinished business. This time, we intend to win the Di Bradini Cup and I personally guarantee that we will do so.

Recently, I read the article by Rachel Sharper of Cassadaigua. Writing in one of their media outlets, she wrote that "The Di Bradini Cup is about player development. It is not a consolation prize World Cup." This statement exemplifies everything wrong with progressivism. Apparently, the nation of Cassadaigua does not care whether they win or lose their Di Bradini Cup matches. They only care about "developing" their players. You "develop" your players by winning soccer matches. Nothing good can come out of losing. Even Felix, a nation notorious around the world for its lax defamation laws, understands that the point of competing in the Di Bradini Cup is to win. This attitude shows why we eliminated Cassadaigua in the Round of 16 last time. This also illustrates why they won just 1 match at the last Di Bradini Cup. We won 6 matches last time, which means that we are 6 times better than their U-21 team. Still, Cassadaigua does have some fairly attractive young ladies and if we run into them again this time, I'm sure several of my players can make things up to them afterwards.

The upcoming 28th Di Bradini Cup will be held in Wight, the home of the new World Cup champions and co-hosts of World Cup 64. Once again, the field consists of 32 U-21 national teams, drawn into 8 groups of 4. Last time, we drew Shadowbourne, Oralana and Felix, a fairly easy group if I do say so myself. This time around, we have drawn Taeshan as our first opponent. Taeshan are one of the true powers of international soccer. Despite failing to qualify for the last World Cup and failing to meet expectations at the Cup of Harmony, Taeshan will undoubtedly remain in the top 20 of the KPB rankings when that venerable ranking agency publishes their updated rankings. Meanwhile, we'd be lucky to make the top 100. Our second match will be against Kiryu-shi, a team that qualified for the last World Cup. Our final opponent will be Albaie, a minnow of international soccer that we should beat fairly easily. Our first 2 matches will take place Monday and Wednesday in the Mutlitudinous Arena in Despite, while the final match on Friday will take place at The Ramparts in Spit.

We're going to have a more difficult road this time, but we did defeat both Cassadaigua and the Licentian Isles at the Di Bradini Cup last time. We did draw the Evitable Syndicate on the final day of World Cup qualifying. We did beat Jeru FC and Falcus in the CoH. We've beaten world class opponents before and we'll do it again. Maybe Cassadaigua and the Licentians can discuss how great it is to lose to the greatest nation in the multiverse when they face each other on Friday in their final group stage match. Elsewhere, those stupid ponies ended up in the same group with Felix, Sangti and Kriegiersien, so here's to hoping that they finish 3rd or 4th in that group. Since they have an unfair advantage by nature of their being a bunch of intelligent horses, I think it is wrong that they are allowed to compete in international sports to begin with. Why can't they just stick to horse racing?

Our team from last year is still intact for this year's Di Bradini Cup, which makes us the favorites to repeat as the legitimate Di Bradini Cup champions. Although Sporting World no longer has an international soccer correspondent now that the lovely Nova Hellstrom has been re-assigned to the professional wrestling circuit, the pages of Sporting World are still open to anybody from our team to write about our experiences. Similarly, my assistant Massimiliano Abdullahi is busy with a team of U-15 prospects competing in the Beach Cup. I've heard that, like most teenage boys in our Federation, they have to have that new handheld game machine that just got released in Saintland. For their sake, I hope they make it to Saintland and get their complimentary Saints, with a free copy of the Beach Cup edition of the Real Soccer Simulator and that game about the Bible that those Bible-thumpers include with every Saint. I seriously doubt that they'll be playing much of Noah's Ark because I know that game looks incredibly boring. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to make a game where the player shoots nets at animals and then has to, slowly, drag the net onto a boat. If the players on my team are any indication, most Republican guys want to get their hands on Prince of Saintland, a title that has reportedly sold very poorly in Saintland and I can understand why. With the Di Bradini Cup starting in a few days, I think the team could use some more motivation. Therefore, I'll personally buy each member of the team a Saint on the day when it is released in our Federation, if they win the Di Bradini Cup. That ought to motivate them.

Rule Theriault is the manager for the FFR's National Soccer Team. He was the manager of Petrograd United. After a disappointing end to his tenure there, he entered a team in the 27th Di Bradini Cup on behalf of the Federation of Free Republics. His mostly unheralded team finished 2nd in that competition, losing to the Equestrian States in the final. He led the National Soccer Team to a 17th place finish in the 52nd Baptism of Fire and a 6th place finish in Group 20 during World Cup qualifying. In the Cup of Harmony, the National Soccer Team overcame having to play in the Equestrian States and came back to win their final 2 matches, including a shocking victory over Jeru FC, one of the true powers of international soccer. He will once again be managing the National Soccer Team in the Di Bradini Cup this year.

After training during the afternoon and having dinner, some of the Vaporeons decided to watch the group draw of the Di Bradini Cup all together in the main room of the club house. The team was at the Club House of Jaunepont Sportif as the team left to play at New Bark against New Bark Earthbound for the first match of the season, after the NSIFC agreed that holding back the season due to international tournaments wouldn't make a lot of sense.

The TV was turned on, as the NSI Sports Channel transmitted the group draw of the tournament.

"I hope Miyuzuki gets drawn with us." said Jim "Panther" Rosso, combing his black hair, trying to keep it as long as it already was, "Level 5 hot chickness, you know?"

Dave Stooge, his roommate, nodded and then added a little more to the saying, "Yeah... It would be distracting, but hey... ladies first!"

"You know, you idiots, we are here to win matches." said Juan Augusto Combi, the youngest and also the shortest player of the team, "This type of conduct will end up having us being eliminated by a bunch of Ponies again!"

"Yeah, but they did win the tournament last time." replied Rosso, "So there wasn't much we could do about it, anyways."

"And the Group E will have... Miyuzuki!" said the TV announcer.

"Group E, Group E, Group E, please..." hoped Rosso, annoying Combi even more.

"Y'know what, I'm thinking about asking Hokuto to come back from his training just to kick your head off." said Combi, getting up from his chair behind them both and then leaving the room.

"Maybe you should tone it down a little, Panther." advised Jet Hawk, sitting on front of them, "You know Hokuto can hurt...", Hawk showed him his left eye, swollen after a not so nice encounter with Hokuto.

"Psh, all talk, no skill." replied Rosso, "Besides, you are too weak, like that silly brother of yours."

"W-we aren't weak... And Tony is at the main team... he's awesome!" snapped Hawk, running away to his room.

"Jeez, what a..." Rosso would turn around to see Jet running, only to see Hokuto facing himself. "Uh... Hi, Go..."

Hokuto with a well-timed, sudden uppercut, knocked Rosso out. Hokuto then leaved, silent.

"And Northern Sunrise Islands will be at Group B with Sicoutimont." said the TV announcer.

"A-a-aw... s-sh-shu-shucks..." said without much air Rosso, before fainting.

With Rosso laying on the floor, the part of the team that plays outside of Northern Sunrise Islands, with the exception of Combi, who was already with the rest of the players that were already in NSI, arrived in the club house, passing through the room. They were all dressed pretty well, each with a scarf with the colours of their teams, Northern Stars' players using blue and yellow scarves, Ariane Hall using a red and white scarf, colors of Connery Sport and so on.

"Hokuto job?", asked Felipe Pato, the only one of the group that stopped to see what happened.

"Yup." replied an otherwise silent Eloise Blanctorche, among the players that were watching the draw, now mostly silent due to Go Hokuto.

Licentian Under 21’s National Football Team

After a run to the quarter finals in Saugeais at the last Di Bradini Cup, before being eliminated by the Free Republics, the Licentian Isles, under Charles Gray once again, will head to Wight in the hope of a longer run, possibly to the Final. Formation – The Pythagorean v2/The Hourglass:
A variant on the Pythagorean system used by Schwartz in the Polar Islandstates, the only real difference is that the Cyan-and-Gold system involves two triangles linked together by the holding midfielders, which looks sort of like an hourglass on paper (hence, the name). The formation has been taken over to the Young Eagles by Charles Gray, for the sake of continuity.

Dr. Bud Love-Evil was sitting together with Felix Quälix, discussing the tactic.
"What would be a very defensive style?", asked the Doctor.
"Hm. A 5-4-1 for instance", was the answer.
"So...then we will play with a 8-1-1 against Felix", mumbled the Doctor absent.

Coach Quälix looked confused.
"What? Why? Our players... our play material isn't prepared for that. The boys won't like it. We can play much better if..."
"They will do my bidding. I have a plan."
"What plan should that be? Insanity?"

"It is decided."
The doctor left the room, going through some papers.

Felix frowned. He didn't like that. He sighed, stoop up and took a bottle of schnaps with him. He had to tell the boys.
