You in favour of a referendum and/or leaving the European Union?

I have absolutely no faith in the British public to not leave the Union, and I think that elitism is not especially negative on that kind of thing. So there we are.

Herein lies the problem, as with the whole AV thing.

There are many very good reasons to be in the EU. But there's no pleb bait like "HURRR THIS APPLE HAS TO BE SOLD AS CLASS B DUE TO REGULATIONS ON APPLE SIZE, WHICH CLEARLY MEANS THAT THEY JUST SET IT ON FIRE THANKS BRUSSELS".

Very Interesting "debate". Have been watching the live stream from the commons.
Seems a lot of bickering and they keep on focusing attention away from the heart of the matter!
I am Pro-EU.
I guess unfortunately the UK population is rather uneducated in Politics, so perhaps it would be better to allow our parliament to do its job and govern, represent and keep itself in check (even though the EU membership in question has vast 'constituional' implications and would mean the UK would need to rewrite hundreds of pieces of legislation).

I thought the UK was having economic difficulties (not in comparison with Greece), so perhaps it would be better to discuss the issue of EU solidarity and membership a few years down the line when the UK's unemployment, inflation, education system, economic deficit is in better shape?

Sounds as though the Conservatives are playing a game: why not allow the uneducated UK population make a decision?
Well because that decision might not benefit the country. It's like scientists asking the mouse on its opinion of the cage it is being kept in.

I also think people have a right to vote on whatever issues they wish, but how can you vote on something that you do not know or have never been taught. Meerly not enough money has been placed into educating the UK on the advantages and disadvantages of the EU for the UK.
