Michael Éamonn Kelly - Progressive-Conservative Party
Account Name: New Waterford
Occupation: Senator
Party Position(s):
Member

Positions in Government:
Senator

Constituency: 441 (Sant-Jäkob)
Political Ideology: third-way centrism
Family: Marie Kelly (wife), Saoirse (daughter)
Background: Michael Kelly was born in Derry, Northern Ireland in 1968, to Irish and Aurentine parents, and moved to County Waterford, Republic of Ireland when he was 5 years old. His mother, Katrinë Baarlen, was a centrist and an advocate of Aurentine independence, which inspired him to become a politician. He earned a degree in Politics at NIHE Dublin (now Dublin City University) in 1990 and moved to Aurentina in 1992. He joined the Progressive-Conservative Party and was elected Senator for Sant-Jäkob in 2013.

Michael Kelly is fluent in French, German, Aurentine and Irish.
Faith: Roman Catholicism
Likes: Literature, Queen, centrism, film-making, The Beatles, Doctor Who
Dislikes: Paramilitaries, corruption, extremism, discrimination
Any Questions from the Public to be answered?
  • Will your decisions and political views be influenced by your religion? No.
  • What's your opinion on the sovereignity of Northern Ireland, your place of birth? While I believe that a united Ireland would be nice, I acknowledge that the majority of residents of Northern Ireland support the status quo. I certainly disagree with republican terrorist organisations.

You look much like the movie character Atticus Finch...

N/A

Constituency: Sant-Klaudia
Political Ideology: Bernsteinist social democrat.
Family: Wife - Julia Strachan-Arglorand. Two children - James (12) and Miranda (14).
Background: Davis Arglorand first took interest in politics at a young age - in high school. It was in high school that Arglorand joined the Militant Tendency, a leftist youth group that advocated for Aurentine independence. Upon the achievemnt of the group's main aim - independence - Arglorand found himself in disagreement with the group's further aims and quit, instead devoting himself to more moderate leftist causes. He began his career in politics as a Senator for Sant-Klaudia and co-founder of the Totally Rad Party, but later left the party alongside its original leader Divairr to found the Common Sense Party. Arglorand speaks fluent Aurentine, English and German.
Faith: Buddhism
Likes: Social democracy, space exploration, market socialism, welfare, free education, free healthcare
Dislikes: Deregulation, laissez-faire capitalism, conservatism, monarchism, fascism.
Any Questions from the Public to be answered?
  • You describe yourself as a Bernsteinist social democrat. Do you mind explaining this stance further? - I believe in the same form of social democracy that its founder, Eduard Bernstein, believed in. I believe in making fundamental changes to our society by way of reform, by granting the working class more rights and gradually reforming the economy into a market socialist one. I, like Bernstein, do not believe in a finite end goal of the working class. I do not think that class war can end with one class gaining power over the other. Class war, as any war, can only truly end with a reconciliation of both sides. That can only be achieved through democratic reform, which raises the proletariat and lowers the upper classes into the citizenry as equals.

Peter L. Meitner - Progressive-Conservative Party
Image
Image

Account Name: Finium
Occupation: Senator, Investor & public notary
Party Position(s):
Senior Whip

Positions in Government:
First Minister of Justice
Former Business Safety Advisor
Minister of Foreign Affairs

Constituency: Wüdinge
Political Ideology: Moderate Conservative
Family: Lisa Meitner (Wife), Andrew Meitner (Son), Erica Philips (Daughter)
Background: Peter Meitner grew up in Wüdinge, attended public school and worked part-time as a fisherman. He later attended the University of Chicago (USA), with a debate scholarship, where he gained his bachelors degree and MBA. Peter returned to Wüdinge and worked for the Royal Bank and Trust Co. for a number of years. Peter Meitner's political career began in the large fishing ports of Wüdinge, where groups of local fisherman and farmers endorsed Peter's candidacy to the city government, which he won on a platform of minimizing government interference with the local industries. He served a second term on the Wüdinge city council, gaining high praise when he reduced the local business taxes and saw an impressive rate of business creation in the district. He ran for mayor the following term, winning by a landslide and famously investing in the tourist industry. His term as mayor saw not only an increase in new businesses, but through his tourist promotion plan he earned Wüdinge the name "The Port of Aurentina". The district elected him to office after the previous senator, Senator Steven Meitner Sr. died of a heart-attack during his acceptance speech.
Faith: prefer not to respond
Likes: laissez-faire society, economic-focused government, military neutrality, national identity
Dislikes: entitlement-based programs, excessive regulation, social guilt
Any Questions from the Public to be answered?
  • How do you reconcile the public good with your minimal government views? I believe that the economy and society that are able to operate with less regulation and interference is the stronger one, which is why I oppose excessive and unnecessary regulation, because those are weaknesses in our nation. I personally believe that the economy and society can adapt over time to give more responsibility to the individual, which makes us a freer, greater nation. When we hold the public good above the individual good we give up essential liberties that, when properly used, are far more effective at rooting out social and economic problems than any regulation could be. For example, our court system and business sector consume billions of dollars in documents and legal proceedings; if our society valued integrity, none of those costs would be incurred. To answer you question directly; I believe in the individual, no "public good" can ever exist without good individuals.

I would like to point out that the Coalition for Freedom and Enterprise is not the National Umlaut? Commission anymore. They have formed their own separate party away from the NMC.

I believe that abortion is permissible in cases where the foetus has been conceived by rape and/or the mother's life is at stake if the pregnancy continues. I'm also fine with most forms of birth control.

It is my most humble opinion that the bayonet ought to remain a regular part of training for the infantryman. The bayonet can be utilized and can act as the difference between life and death. I feel that it is an invaluable tool. That said, I am very much in favor of retaining the bayonet.

Due to a lack of activity, just reposting that Jarrod Thuman is open for questions.

<Koyro> (Democratic Koyro) NSG senate is a glaring example of why no one in NSG should ever have a position of authority
The Emerald Dawn wrote:"Considering Officer Krupke was patently idiotic to charge these young men in the first place, we're dropping the charges in the interest of not wasting any more of the Judiciary's time with farcical charges brought by officers who require more training on basic legal principles."
