0 means a bunch of players with supernatural or other powerful abilities can't play. 3 will allow Kei/Nox to get involved. 5 allows Bones and Swith to get involved. 6 is eternally in effect as a means to reset the thread (and only happens when stuff hits the fan so badly that the game will crumble.)

I'd categorize your creatures escaping as a side-adventure, but that's just my personal opinion.

Invasions should really be few and far between, should threaten the city/world so badly that massive forces are needed to counter it, and are something that no player can avoid or ignore; they cancel all current side-stories. Swith and Thriller basically had to put their side-story/wedding on hold because it was an invasion. A side-adventure can involve everyone or just a group who are interested (recovering Swith's matrix was a side-story although nearly everyone went) but, if players don't want to play it, they have the option of staying in the building where it's safe. Side-stories can happen at any time (week or weekend) but invasions always are weekends (Dani's spilled over this time and that's okay.)

Again, just my way of thinking and no one has to take it as fact. Another thing we can look at is side-adventures can happen even while gearing up for an invasion as long as players work together so they don't unbalance things set in place for that invasion.

I'm looking at side adventures (minor thread events) as...

Zombies attack the city (no a structured invasion, just a really bad day for the city)
A death saurer walking through the middle of town (again, bad day for the city)
Raptors turning the population into kittens out of the blue (bad day for the people, city officials would probably get pissed off)
Leaving the city for a tour of someone's nation
Leaving the city to rescue or capture something elsewhere

I'm actually going to invade separately from the containment breach...... My nation is going to invade and try to colonize the earth in this dimension....

Character Background: He is the crown prince of Aksarben. He is quiet, usually serious, and somewhat cold. He doesn't really care for anyone but himself. He has a hard time making friends and understanding others. He still cares for his nation's people, though, and does anything to help his nation become more powerful. He is also somewhat of a spoiled brat, as he was raised to become the next Emperor, so expects everything to be handed to him. He's also the highest officer in the Aksarben military, aside from Albert and the Emperor himself. The Emperor, Iacobos, sent him to the universe the building is in to keep him safe, and to learn about the different universe.

Now my invasion

Basic Info
Name of Invasion - The Aksarbenite Colonization of Bielefeld and Earth
Name of Invaders - the Grand Federative Empire of Aksarben and her allies
Date of Invasion - sometime after my Minor event, Aksarben Containment Breach.
Length of Invasion - a weekend more or less

Statistical Info (Note that the Objectives are for defenders)
Primary Objective - Capture (preferred by me) or Kill Octavian, who is leading the ground forces. Capture would give a bargaining chip against the Emperor
Secondary Objectives -
- Destroy the Warp-gate in the Foods Conglomerate of Aksarben's HQ (it will be used as an operational HQ for the invaders) to prevent more Aksarbenite soldiers and warships from arriving from Aksarben's home universe.
-Break the siege of the Building and Chaos
Tertiary Objectives -
-Destroy the flagship of the invading force, the ARS Josef, breaking apart the chain of command and forcing the ships to retreat
- Defeating the ground forces and forcing them to surrender.
-possibly killing Albert (his consciousness will go into Jacob's body until a new body is made for him)

Major Events -

-Aksarben Fleet warping above the city and attacking any space-based things around the globe
-Ground troops blitzkrieg the city from FCA and occupy as much as possible. other groups will attack nations across the globe. They will likely kill anyone they come across, no matter if they are civilian or military.
-Siege of the apparent and Chaos.
-Jacob helps defense by giving locations of important targets
-whatever happens next. this will likely be the residents defeating the forces invading.

Potential Casualties - any who wish to be killed, unknown number of NPC civilian and military casualties
List of Enemy Forces - 500,000 of Aksarben's best soldiers, about 500 warships of various classes, tanks, Octavian and Albert (within the city itself)
List of Allied Forces - Players, any nations attacked, and any allies they have. Jacob will be on the defenders side(he's against colonization)
God Allowance - 3


And this won't happen for a while, because mainly my nation is just experimenting with inter-universal travel. But when it does happen, that means we can, but only using warp-gates (basically doors between universes) and its not portable. They will also be able to hook up it to the ship's engines to transport fleets by opening giant holes between the universes.

The invasion will ultimately be unsuccessful, of course, and they don't have anything capable of leveling the city because they want to take territory with minimal damage to the infrastructure

Sweet. Bones, Cer and I were going to break the Chaos grip in our invasion, which means only the good Chaos guys are left behind. Once they're taken out, the Nifid won't be held at bay.

Hmmmmm...

So I could follow this one up with a Nifid invasion, in which they'll sit back while everyone else invades, and (having procured the jump coordinates from GT's ships, the NA ships, Tsu's ships etc) they can siege the Earth and use it as a base to hunt down the other FT threats. *nods* Intergalactic Invasion!!! The people left on Earth would have to become freedom fighters of sorts, trying to overthrow their oppressors ala War of the Worlds terror... only Nifid won't catch a cold and die.

So I could follow this one up with a Nifid invasion, in which they'll sit back while everyone else invades, and (having procured the jump coordinates from GT's ships, the NA ships, Tsu's ships etc) they can siege the Earth and use it as a base to hunt down the other FT threats. *nods* Intergalactic Invasion!!! The people left on Earth would have to become freedom fighters of sorts, trying to overthrow their oppressors ala War of the Worlds terror... only Nifid won't catch a cold and die.

Maybe, though they are currently still licking their burning, fiery wounds surrounding their capital world.

Maybe if enough time has passed, they can come for support if persuaded by Darius, though there could be another scenario I have in mind, though more likely I play that card in the summer, since work is less and people are on more actively to better participate..

Agreed, there needs to be a limit.

I say there should be two per month. This would allow a long break between invasions and at let people plan them out more. Plus, it would prevent them from getting overly boring.

My humble opinion:

Fuck no.

Especially if it follows canon.

1. Activate Thatch and kill off most of the planet except necessary feeding troughs.
2. Use the population inside the trough as food and hosts for millions of Nifid warrior spawn.
3. Erect a Dyson sphere over the solar system and block out all hope.
4. Consume the inner planets for fuel; use the gas giants as gateways; corrupt the star and mature the singularities within the sphere.
5. Wait for other species to come "rescue" the Earth.
6. Trace other species' points of origin.
7. Repeat First step.

I call mine an invasion because it is...and yet isn't. It was just easier to categorize it and use the sheet that Prim and Swith developed. There'll be other things for you to do on it if you're in. It's not too major an event, after reading Swith's definition of an invasion.
