IC: Who are Apox and Swyftlandre?
[APXSWY]

Swyftlandre
The Worst Team coming out of the 62nd World Cup
[SWY1]

Swyftlandre is a small nation on the South-East Coast of the Mardujsha Continent in Esportiva, that is famed for it's plentiful coral reefs and waterfalls. With the 'Heart of Swyftlandre', the largest and perhaps most beautiful of the coral reefs in the nation, being the crown jewel of the nation. While small, the beach's that line the nation are also brilliant, with the nation boasting some of the biggest surf in the region.

The main city's of the nation are San Rione, Avenhelm, San Purtnurth and the capital city San Swyft. All of which are positioned in mainland Swyftlandre with the exception of San Purtnurth, which is a coastal city and is essential to the economy of the nation. However, most of the countries activity lies in San Swyft and San Rione with the biggest airports being South San Swyft Airport, Sin Wayne Airport, Girarsita Airport, San Rione Airport and Dykevan Town Airport. While sea travel is also popular, it is discouraged, as pirates are becoming an increasingly bigger problem in Swyftlandre with two cruise ships being captured in the last month and most companies cancelling links to the nation.

Swyftlandre, despite being free from the Union Isle Empire, still uses the Swyftlandian Di (Represented by the symbol Ѻ). With the pirate problem, the main industry of the land, fishing, has left the currency not fairing well. With 1 NSDollar converting to 0.721 Swyftlandian Di's, which is poor considering a decent cup of coffee costs Ѻ5-8, a Pint costing nearly Ѻ10-15, a good meal for two costing Ѻ150-170 and about Ѻ300-350 for a night in a three star hotel. 1000 Siee (Џ) make a Di.

The national language of Swyftlandre is called Modern Swyftlandian or Swyftlandian and is a combination of the English, Swedish, Cornish and Irish languages. Most people in Swyftlandre are also fluent in English as well, however.

Stadia

"Maximillion Motors" Swyftlandre Country Stadium:
Swyftlandre Champions League Finals I & II, Friendly Cup 3 Finals, CEdC 2 Finals
Swyftlandre Country Stadium is the Pride and Joy of the Nation, becoming a massive hub for the nations football, hosting the finals of the past three Swyftlandre Champions Leagues and the past two Emperors Scepters, as well as the Finals to the Third and Sixth Friendly Cups and potential host of the Finals of the Fourth Campionato Esportiva and it's resume is set to continue growing. The stadium is housed in the Capital of San Swyft, Swyftlandre and plays host to Swyftlandre's National Team and San Swyft FC. Built in 1998, this historical Stadium was constructed with that purpose in the mind, funded by Swyftlandre Motor Company 'Maximillion Motors' and being named M.M. Arena. It is notable that the predecessor to the Champions League was the 'Maxilmillion Motors First (And Second) League'.

The company capitalized on the Football Stadium, raking in Ѻ1,850,000 through Ticket Sales and TV Viewings alone, with a rise of Motor Sales bringing in an extra Ѻ4,500,300. Upon the dawn of the S.F.C. (Swyft Football Confederation), Maximillion Motors received a whopping Ѻ20,000,000 to hand over the league and stadium, while still retaining 15% Shares in the S.F.C.! The stadium was promptly renamed the (Maximillion Motors) Swyftlandre Country Stadium, to emphasize it's importance on the world of football. It was recently reformed to host a potential 70,000 Fans, instead of 30,000 for the CEdC 3 and the possible Campionato Esportiva 4.

If successful, it will host the FINALS.

Avenhelm Castle:
Swyftlandre Champions League Finals III, Friendly Cup 3 Semi-Finals, CEdC 1 Finals
The Stadium is named Avenhelm Castle to fit with the theme of the teams name. But the Lords chose to do more than just name the stadia in the theme, but the whole interior, minus the pitch itself, is made to look medieval with the banners of Avenhelm and Swyftlandre hanging across the stadium, with a spare spot for the banner of the opposing team with the same theme even continuing to the internal fast food vendors. The impressive piece of architecture holds 64,500 viewers and has hosted making it the third most populated stadium in the nation when full.

If successful, it will host one of the Semi Finals.

City of Sveinhart Stadium:
Friendly Cup 3 TPPO, Friendly Cup 6 Semi-Finals
One of the two stadium that lies in Swyftherth. The stadium is huge and holds 65,000 and is famed for it's intricate designs that line the outside of the Stadium that resemble the waves that roll furiously on the coast of Sveinhart. Fans going to Sveinhart then across the Mainland had best be aware that travel by Boat in the Safe Passage or by Plane comes at a reduced cost, but still costs a small fortune.

Mansbrook Stadium:
Friendly Cup 6 TPPO
Mansbrook is one of the most poverty-stricken places in Swyftherth, with the addition of this stadium only costing the town more. The city is full of Thugs and the Stadium is home to rats, fleas and the occasional mosquito (protective clothing is advised). Seats and Food Bars are usually left uncleaned and thus are covered in animal and the excrement. The playing field is also fairly bogged down, with the Left Goal Post constantly sinking 2m's into the Group before and during games games. It hosts as many people as can be squashed in there, but the estimate is about 7000.
(Basically, this stadium is Godmod Central)

Ruby Crown Field:
Friendly Cup 3 Quarter Finals
This stadium is owned by Emporfenn FC and is fairly large, holding 40,000 fans as well as a Royal Box for the Lords of Emporfenn. The Ruby Crown Stadium is named as such because when Emperor Brandon finally conquered Swyftlandre, he is said to have been crowned at Emporfenn Castle with a Ruby Crown. The Stadium was picked to represent the Fenn's (that being the land North of the River Riera, excluding the county of Scandinavia.), which rarely gets looked at during most tourists trips to Swyftlandre.

'Max Barry' Arena:
N/A
The completely neutral field was invented to honor the Great Overlord of all things NS, this sidelines are covered with banners bearing the photo of the man and the pitch itself is a giant dyed field with his 'graceful, sexy' (Says the Swyftlandian Times) image. Entry is free as long as you come wearing a Shirt or a Mask with his face printed

Royal Barracks:
N/A
The Royal Barracks is a special breed of stadium. It will be the home of the Swyftlandian Army FC, a new scheme to get those who were injured during combat and unable to return, to continue living a full existence. The Stadium is not only based around football, but also has members give military-styled performance's and musical shows before every game. It can hold 40,000 fans.

Apox
World Cup Wonders!
[APX1]

Apox is a nation in the south of Esportiva, with a large amount of coastline and a proud history. Your average Apoxian citizen, is caring and good-natured, the sort of person you'd love to share a drink with in the pub on a Saturday night. Our government, is what you would call semi-democratic in that it is democratically elected, but it passes relatively few laws. The current leader is John Ashburton, of the Apox National Party who recently replaced Lord Winklebottom in the election that occurred earlier this year.
While we are not a fully democratic country, this means that most people are free to do what they want, providing it is not causing harm to others or their property. People of most cultures and social backgrounds and even species are welcomed in Apox. The police force is friendly but strict, especially to law-breakers and we have a very efficient law system.
Apox has a total population of 26,271,382 as of the 564 census. The capital is Dwile, in the centre of the country, which has a population of 2,832,000. Other major cities are Gwinevra, Urbanista, Barbury and Exton. There are regular flights from all over the region to the four main airports, those being: Dwile Capital Airport, Mandon District Airport (just outside Dwile), Gwinevra Airport and Urbanista Regional Airport. These airports all have direct road and rail links to the cities and their stadiums.

Stadia
The Royal Stadium, Dwile (capacity 71,000)
The APX Sports Stadium, Dwile (capacity 56,000) home to Dwile Warriors
Dwile Stadium, Dwile (capacity 54,000) home to Dwile Central
The Barbaria, Gwinevra (capacity 38,000) home to Gwinevra Barbarians
Village Green, Barbury (current capacity 20,000 - extended to 31,000 if bid successful) home to Barbury Town
Lime Ground, Urbanista (capacity 32,000) home to Urbanista

Format:
[FRM]

Currently flexible and is depending on the number of Sign-Ups. We are aiming for Group's of Four with the top two advancing and should the situation be where we're low of numbers, the highest scoring third place teams of each group will advance. A finalized Format will come when the number of Sign-Ups is definite.

Specials:
[SPC]

As well as the actual football, we wish to offer you two added 'Bonuses' to make the Campionato Esportiva even more enjoyable.

Fair Play Award: A final award will be given in-between the Campionato and the 'Mästares Liga' Match. The Fair Play award is given to the nation that provides the BEST Single Roleplay, whether it be part of a series or a one off. The winner of the fair play award will be awarded the Trophy after the Finals, to allow for the Finalists to RP. The winner of the Fair Play Trophy qualifies to the Mästares Liga match.

Friendly Service: Up to a day before the Campionato Esportiva, if we win the host bid.will takes requests for friendlies by TelegramSent to Sovjet Asir or on this Sign-Up thread. At 7PM GMT on the two days before the first Campionato Esportiva IV Cutoff, Swyftlandre will scorinate the matches requested on the Football Friendly Scheduler.

Campionato Esportiva - Mästares Liga: Following the Campionato Esportiva, a round robin (Over 1 Day and scorinated solely, in one chunk, by Swyftlandre) will take place between the Esportivan All-Star, the winner of the Fair Play Award and the Champions of this edition of the CE. This is separate from the actual competition and as such is not to be classed as part of the competition. The winner of the CE IV is still the winner of the CE, regardless of results.

Scorination & RP Bonuses
[SCORPB]

We will be using the newly developed region rankings, by Apox. The games will be scorinated with the SQIS Formula on xkoronate and RP's will be a cumulative five-tier one (with a maximum of 3 Possible Points per match. The RP bonuses are detailed below) receiving scores on quality, creativity and length in that order. Respect for your opponent's RP permissions will not be something the RP itself is graded on as such, but you will be penalized if permissions are not respected (Penalty not yet determined). The creation and provision of a rosters will be scored the same as a matchday's worth of RP, though this bonus will never decline with time, and multiple RPs per matchday from any nation will be grouped together and scored as one.

Five Tier Ranking System:
0 - No Roleplay [No Roleplay Provided or a One or Two Word Roleplay (Such as, "Swyftlandre Wins!")]
1 - Bad Roleplay [Very Short and Lacking Detail or Creativity, usually just two or three liners. We reserve the right to award it 0 if it ]
1.5 - Alright Roleplay [Decent in all three respects]
2 - Good Roleplay [A Good Amount of Detail, Length and Quality]
2.5 - Great Roleplay [Brilliant in one respect, but falls short of Brilliant for some reason]
3 - Brilliant Roleplay [Excellent or near Excellent in all three respects, only given to the best roleplays, so that those who produce great Roleplay's are greatly rewarded for it]

-A high quality and creative Roleplay that may lack in Length will most likely get a higher rank. (i.e. A Roleplay worth +2 will not become +1.5 as long as it's not terribly small)
-Rosters will be awarded a 2.5 if they are just a list of Players, but 3 if there is detail in the Roleplay. Pictures are welcome, but as some cannot produce them, not required.

Style Modifiers will be used (with three numbers allowed after the points (i.e. 1.322) but a single number following the point is encouraged). If a Style Mod is not used then it is set to ±0.

Tie Breakers:
Points -> Goal Difference -> Goals For -> Head-to-head points -> Head-to-head goal difference -> Head-to-head goals for -> Play Off

Why a Joint Host Bid?:
Many questions have been raised on the Regional Message Board on whether or not a Joint Host Bid is really practical. I (this is Swyftlandre btw) have two reasons on this. First there seems to be a seemingly more popular vote count towards Joint Host bids (This Stigma on Single Host Bids is usually only held by the Newer Nations), so in a way, it is just a way to gain more votes. However, for myself, I have ambitions of hosting a Baptism of Fire in the far future. Since it's good to host in a duo in a WCC-sanctioned event, the Campionato Esportiva will provide me with experience in Dual-Host Bidding should it be successful.

Questions:
We are open to any questions or criticism that you may have for us, whether they be sent by TG to myself or Apox or by posting it on the thread. We hope you consider our Host Bid and allow us the honor of hosting the Campionato Esportiva IV. Psst...there's also free Cookies for everyone who votes for us...oh, and you never read any of this

Unofficial Theme to our Bid: Wut?

Image

Hello! And welcome to a Campionato Esportiva presented to you by two passionate footballing nations, Swyftlandre and Apox! We hope you have the best possible footballing time in our nation and that this cup is the best in the short history of the Campionato Esportiva. After facing a plethora of other bids, we are delighted to have been judged to have had the best bid by the voters.

Format:
[FRM]

We have 32 nations signed-up, meaning there will be 8 groups of 4, with the top 2 qualifying for the Round of 16, whereupon, standard knock-outs will take place.

Apox

The Royal Stadium, Dwile (capacity 71,000)
Image
The pride and joy of Apox, this stadium only gets to host the biggest of events.

The APX Sports Stadium, Dwile (capacity 56,000) home to Dwile Warriors
Image
The most prestigious domestic football ground in the country, the APX Sports Stadium a great fan favourite, with a spectacular atmosphere within.

Dwile Stadium, Dwile (capacity 54,000) home to Issington F.C
Image
Issington F.C have recently moved into this stadium after the collapse and subsequent take-over of Dwile Central. Situated near to the river, the stadium is very easily accessible.

The Barbaria, Gwinevra (capacity 38,000) home to Gwinevra Barbarians
Image
Built in Gwinevra in 533, this is one of the oldest stadiums in Apox, and it is always loud, the stadium naturally amplifying the cries of the fans.

Village Green, Barbury (capactiy 32,000) home to Barbury Town
Image
Completely renovated, the Village Green is now a stylish and modern stadium with all the necessary features, a big step up from the antiquated old stadium it used to be.
Lime Ground, Urbanista (capacity 32,000) home to Urbanista
Image
The Lime Ground is said to be the spiritual home of Urbanista for some, a magnificent building.

The HP Award Stadium, Gwinevra (capacity 28,000) temporary stadium
Image
One of the temporary stadiums built for the CE and hopefully for the Baptism of Fire should we host that, The HP Award stadium was designed by radicalist Johannes Blake, who won the award after which the stadium is named.

The JK Scott Memorial Stadium, Exton (capacity 27,500) temporary stadium

Originally intended to be Exton F.C's renovated stadium, Exton weren't able to afford the running costs after they were relegated. As a result, the JK Scott Memorial stadium will be turned into a resevoir after the CE (and possibly BoF) as it is sunken into the ground.

FUCK ISRAEL! I support peace, therefore I stand with Palestine. I want a bi-national solution, a state in which Jews and Palestinians can coexist peacefully. The onus is on Israel to stop this - it can do it anytime by bringing a ceasefire and ending apartheid.

"Hey! Time to throw out crazy ideas for a Campionato Esportiva roster. Watcha think?"
"Oh, didn't they tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"We've already decided our roster this year. And it's like.... the random-est roster you'll ever see. Or at least it's got a good case for that title"
"Oh, ok.... Let's see it then"

Dandish roster for the 4th Campionato Esportiva

RocketZOMG v 1.4.5

Yes, you heard that right! It's a rocket. But not any rocket, it's the rocket. It's a rocket specially designed to play football. It's 3 metres tall and can cover the goal completely, or at least almost completely. The RocketZOMG v 1.4.5 has a difficult to believe way of attacking. Once it sense the ball, at at least one meter to him. He takes it with some robotic hands, put it inside itself and shoots itself all the way to the opponent's goal. As it puts itself in horizontal position, and he's not that thick, he amnages to enter the goal with a bit of ease, thus scoring a goal. It's pretty dangrous to put yourself in its way, and once he does this, chances are it will score the goal no matter what you do. It's also programmed to, once it scores, go all the way back to the goalline, to keep stopping some goals and try to get the ball once again. Designed by Käf-ty Rockets. It's really a marvel of Dandish technology, but it was extremely expensive. It's believe it costed around ten billion dollars. It better get far this Campionato Eportiva, or else me, myself and I the invester will get really, really, reallly, really mad.

I give my opponent permission to.... do the same that he allows me to do.

Trilakean Roster for the 4th edition of Campionato Esportiva

Starting XI

Name: Bryan Friend
Position: GK
Age: 28
Team: Corporations United
Quick Info: Pretty good goalkeeper that will try to not conced any goals at any time, but will be hard considering how offensive Trilakea is. A pretty easy-going person, but as a goalkeeper, pretty difficult to score against him. Obviously, out of the many chances your players will get, probably some will go in.

Name: Paul Plus
Position: LB
Age: 30
Team: Holy FC
Quick Info: Fast and with a volatile temper. Will probably get at least one red card during the tournament, but is a pretty decent LB regardless. If anyone starts a fight between my team and yours, it's probably this guy. Wouldn't be the first time.

Name: Malcolm Noble
Position: CB
Age: 23
Team: Lausaunne White Lions (Free Swiss States)
Quick Info: A defender who doesn't like fouling, because he thinks it's not "fair". However, he will foul occasionally, probably not intentionally, but he will. In a case like this, he'll apologize to the defender and ask for the referee to card him. A weird player, and likely to cause some jokes around. However, he's undeniably reliable and, due to his height, perfect to defend and score during corners and free kicks. He also always tries to do as much as possible, as he thinks that's what the people expect of him, and doens't want to let them down. Any coincidence with his surname is pure coincidence.

Name: Bloom Last
Position: RB
Age: 34
Team: Free Lass FC
Quick Info: Your average defender. Actually, even worst. He's not good at playing football, but his cheery attitude has led the team far.... or at least can lead the team far. He's a good leader, despite not being the captain. He's a very good header, although. So if your team feels unlucky or extremely bad, putting it by simple words, it might concede a goal by this guy.

Name: Peregrine Scrawny
Position: CDM
Age: 20
Team: Free Hill
Quick Info: He's somewhat thin and short. However, it's not that what counts. Scawny is excellent at recovering the ball and organizing the entire team. He sometimes dribbles too much, and may get some teammates to not like him, but he's also a very good playmaker. He's pretty young and pretty complete for his age. The only thing he lacks if physical strength, but he's speedy and somewhat resistant. May arrive late for trainings because he overslept. He's lazy.

Name: Billy Procurer
Position: LM
Age: 30
Team: Corporations United
Quick Info: The owner of a company which shouldn't be mentioned to people below 18. A decent player, who will aid any team with budget for transfers and everything, in exchange for being a starter. Regardless, he's good at crossing and often gets to assist tall players, or at least good poachers. He's also good at defending, and will try to do it well during the entire game.

Name: Samuel Footstrong
Position: CM
Age: 26
Team: Corporations United
Quick Info: Very good at marking and shootin from long distances. His last name is a hint about his playing style, really. Not good at playmaking as he can't measure how much strength he puits into passes, so he tends to choose long ones. Still a good addition for the team. Also, don't ever mae him go mad, everyone will regret it.

Name: Sean Fish
Position: RM
Age: 22
Team: Holy Lake FC
Quick Info: Fish is a weird guy. He doesn't like to play football, but he gets a very good paycheck for it and so plays for the money. He's not gonna put too much effort into anything, but he's skilled and can score, if he gets paid for it. Which he does. He's really controversial and if a foreign newspaper wants to spread rumours about someone of the team, this is their guy.

Name: Richard Fun
Position: CAM
Age: 24
Team: Corporations United
Price: 75,000
Quick Info: Fun is Pillow's official chance provider. He can make an assist out of air. In difficult situations he can get an extremely precise pass. His most famous assist was when he got an arial through-pass from a one-touch heel while being marked by two. Pillow scored with a header. He's the one who makes his team flow and have good chances. However, if he's not inspired the day you need him, prepare for doom. Seriously, teams get used to this guy leading them. Don't ask us why, we've got no idea.

Name: John Fallacy
Position: FST (False Striker)
Age: 19
Team: Luzavik ZPH (Free Swiss States)
Price: 20,000
Quick Info: Fallacy is a young player from Free Hill who plays a rather unused position: False ST. He's like a satellite to the main striker, unmarking him. He's good at assisting from short distances and can score from far distances. He's a spectacular dribbler and a very good free kick taker. It's thought that he'll make the perfect duo with Fun to give Pillow assists. The fact that he's just 19 makes him an extreme bargain.

Name: George Pillow
Position: ST
Age: 22
Team: Corporations United
Price: 100,000
Quick Info: Pillow is the Trilakean national team's star, young and with powerful shots. When he's inside the box, he's someone to fear. He's ambidextrous and can shoot towards the corners with unbelievable precision. He's agile and can dribble, although it's not his specialty. He's of average height and not really big, but also not small. The downside is that he needs help from the midfielders to score, as he can't generate chances for himself. Very good at being fouled inside the box. His price is considered a bargain in Trilakea, but it's as far as clubs will probably get to buy a player from a six-club league, even if he's its biggest star and most liked player by the fans.

Wednesday Hooters
Coverage of Campionato Esportiva IV

The Owls squad has been announced for the fourth Campionato Esportiva. With the twin exceptions of Billy Wilkinson and David Hooper the selectors continue to prize fair play.

Forwards: Young star Jack Jordan (9) of Hillsborough and Fulwood's veteran striker Derek Quigley (10) provide a sound scoring punch. Reserve frontmen include Jack Millership (16) from Heeley and Jimmy Stephenson (18) out of Handsworth.

Midfielders: Eddie Francis has retired, but player-manager Trevor Fantham (7) of Sheffield and Spring Lawe winger Toddles Wilson (11) man the flanks. Norton's central midfielder Howard Charlton (6) is the playmaker and Billy Wilkinson (8) of Gleadless the defensive midfielder. Fantham will get some flexibility from a youthful pair of midfield reserves in Ecclesfield's George Binks (12) and Rivelin's Ellis McLean (17).

Defenders: Two-time Clegg Trophy winner Mark Layne (5) of Handsworth captains the squad from the wingback slot. His partner, Hillsborough's bruising David Hooper (2), draws more cards than any player in the league with his very physical style on the other wing. Sheffield's Peter McMullan (3) and Stannington's Steve Dooley (4) defend the center. The reserves are Fulwood sweeper Alec Ingram (14) and Rivelin fullback Fred Cawley (15).

Keepers: The pride of Norton Bob Woods (1) takes over in nets, swapping roles with former starter Chris Bolder (19) of Stannington.

Fantham favors a 4-4-2 with all four wing players pressing forward; on a scale of five call it a four.

Cyborg Holland National Football Team

"A plane crash you say?"

"Yes, on the way back from Sakhovelo"

"Ah"

Squad (age/height/reliability (A+-C))

Goalkeeper: Mirino "Junk" Jaske [26/2.23m/A+]

Mirino suffered a car accident four years ago, and was already a prominent footballer before. But due to the new CyTec. technology which were able to re-attach fully working Cyborg limbs to people, and Mirino's dreams of Professional Football were realised when he was signed by NatEc Division 2 side Vandsee Wanderers (Cyborg players are still untested and untrusted by major clubs). As he has had a leg implant, he stands a lot taller than most regular humans. Much like all Cyborgs. Unlike other players, he is fairly reliable; his joints are fluid and his systems rarely malfunction, so he performs much like a human goalkeeper. He has inhuman reflexes, thanks to a short-wiring in his CPU which literally makes him seem things at about 75% of their real speed.

Right Back: Robert "Gears" de Grete [30/2.31m/A]

Another vehicle accident, this time in the form of a bicycle and a train. Robert lost one leg and both arms, but had implants which allowed him to play. A strong and powerful player, standing imperiously at 7ft 7 inches, he is not a 'borg to be messing with. He has an astonishingly powerful right foot, which can fire balls from penalty area to penalty area. He has been known to suffer short circuiting in the CPU for his legs, which make them move uncontrollably, which from afar, is hilarious, but you don't want to be close. He currently is clubless, but is in talks with various NatEc 3 sides after showing prowess at the National Computer Fair, held in Amzterdam Bay.

Centre Back: Karl "Metal" Mennershall [17/2.56m/B+]

Karl was born with a severe muscle condition in both his legs, so CyTech implanted artificial muscles, and they've worked wonders. Standing at the tallest in the team at 8ft 4 inches, the youngster has genuine defensive talent. His head is still entirely human, and thus can freely deliver poweful headers. He has a good footballing brain, but suffers from violent cramps as occasionally the artificial muscle tissue malfunctions. He is the team's go to man in the box (for obvious reasons) and has a knack for scoring headers.

Centre Back: Randolf "Loose wires" Weiss [32/2.43m/B] [CAPTAIN]

One of the oldest models in the team, he was built with some faulty wiring by CyTech, he spends long period in the maintenence room having his limbs re-wired. When he isn't being repaired, he is a handy and strong footballer, who's pro career was cut short by a fight in an Eindhoven bar 10 years ago which resulted in the loss of his right arm from the elbow down. He also suffered major head injuries, and had the majority of his brain re-planted with CyTec technology, which give him the ability to see the pitch in 11 different ways, and analyse the play, making him an ideal captain for the team.

Right back: Fredrik "Virus" Vund [21/1.96m/A+]

Not technically a proper cyborg, but he has artifical liver and lungs tissue after ingesting an unhealthy amount of Hydrocloric Acid (details are sketchy). Because of this, he was legible to play as a Cyborg, and is actually a very talented footballer, gifted with great height and natural control. Whilst he doesn't the ability the see the world slower or see the game from 11 different views, he has a great through ball and he likes to get forward, causing problems for opposition wingers. Although he isn't the main target in the box, he has a pwerful volley, and will sit just inside the D, waiting for a loose ball.

Left midfield: Jan "KBM" Kriss [23/2.25m/B]

He has the latest tecnology from CyTec, and although it is almost microscopic, it is prone to failiure. He looks like a human despite loosing both arms whilst fighting in Alern. His arms are entirely built from artificial material and looks really cool. Really. He is a fast and athletic winger, with great passing and crossing abilities, and he will look to swing in crosses to the giant players in the middle. He has a great right boot, and takes freekick from the left side and centre, and left side corners.

Centre midfield: Marten "Click" Klaus [25/2.19m/A]

A controlling and dominant player who easily controls the centre of the park with his size and build. He has great vision both on and off the ball and can get into great space to provide through balls to the strikers. He works well with other midfielders and is a good team player. He has one CyTec Eye Implant, which can zoom in over 10x normal magnification, which doesn't really help in a fast flowing game of football, but hey, it's pretty cool. He also has strong defensive capabilities, and is arguably the best tackler in the team.

Centre Midfield: Krissa de Langeveldt MDC, DDRD, CTIH [24/1.76m/A+]

Someone's got to be on the pitch to make sure the Cyborgs don't malfunction/break down/revolt. Krissa is fresh out of college with a bunch of letters after her name and she specialised in Sports Science and Mechanics. She was snapped up by CyTec and put on the Football programme. It turned out that she was also a handy footballer, and was allocated the one human spot in the team. She keeps an emergency mechanic kit on the sidelines, and is preferred over the Off-Pitch mechanics to do small repairs to the players. On the football side of things, she is quick and has very good close ball control, and can link up well with the Cyborg players.

Right Midfield: Livia "Shortwire" Seismen [27/2.10m/A]

Another victim of a vehicle accident, this time he bike was hit by a small aircraft whilst out cycling on the Zierland Junior Tour. She put the bike in the garage and adopted the football, and was snaffled up by GJK Eindhoven of NatEc3 when she was just 19, the youngest ever Cyborg player. She is exceptionally fast, running the 100m in just under 8 seconds, but of course it is illegal for her to enter mainstream athletics. Her inhuman pace make her extremley valuable, and she doesn't break often, contradicting her nickname.

Attacking Midfield: Gregor "Buzz" Bilsen [30/2.23m/B+]

Another quick player on the field, Gregor has artifical things and hips due to a malfunction in his car leading to a crash. He controls the attacking third of the pitch, and strikes fear into the hearts of opponents with his CyTec eye implant which has gone wrong slightly, and he occasionally loses sight in that eye. He has a brilliant shot on him, and he takes most right free-kicks as well as centre free kicks and penalties. He has good awareness and can move quickly to reach through balls, as well as provide them to the strikers and wingers.

Centre Forward: Valeri "Krash" Kang [21/2.17m/B]

Unreliable in some places, his CPU is an old model, and it tends to go haywire, and he believe he is a tractor. This can be a problem, and Krissa often has to run to the far corner of the pitch during the game to perform repairs on him whilst he tries to till the pitch. Otherwise, he is a fantastic forward with one of the region's most powerful touches. He can either take a first touch shot or he can hold it up, which he does superbly because of his massive size. Despite his CPU failiures, he is constantly joking and often tampering with other 'borgs wiring for his own self amusment.

Subs:

GK: Edwin "Compute" Carlsen [24/2.12m/A]
DF: Jannike Merlam MDC DDRD CTIH [22/1.69m/A+]
DF: Nikolas "Meltdown" Morner [41/1.99m/B-]
MD: Helena "Right click" Reiss [32/2.09m/A]
FW: Pyotr "VCDB" Varlander [23/2.22m/A]

I give my opponent permission to:
Choose my goalscorers: Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players: Go nuts
Give injuries to my players: Y/N (Note: Our on field Doctor Krissa de Langeveldt, will deal with most problems)
Godmod injuries to my players: Y/N
Godmod scoring events: Y/N
Godmod any other event: Y/N

RP Note: As our players are Cyborgs, I give you the permission to RP with them as you wish. They tend to be slower than regular humans, except if I've mentioned them beind quick. They are massive, as written, and very powerful.

APOX CAMPIONATO ESPORTIVA IV ROSTER

(Note: This tournament will be taking place in April 568 A.T)

Manager: John Grigia
Style: +1.5

Spiel: Having finished a very successful qualifying campaign by nearly qualifying for the World Cup and then making it to the Round of 16 for the Cup of Harmony, you'd expect John Grigia would not have changed much. Jarvis Staniels and Chris Neguwa have been dropped to the bench and Ken Rickwright is out after his retirement. The defense has been swapped around a bit, after we conceded many goals during the last campaign, with the team taking on a more defensive role as a whole. John Grigia has employed a 4-4-2 formation in what will be hopefully a winning campaign on home soil.

19th Century Beards' World Cup 62 squad

Manager
John Morris, 63
Appointed as a temporary manager for this tournament after Tom Patedson took leave after having a major chest surgery, John Morris doesn't have a massive reputation, even in a country as small as this. A retired police officer, he took up the offer of managing Caws Lane at the start of the season and managed to guide them to a second place finish. He has opted to go one better than his predecessor, replacing the entire squad and filling it with teenagers except for one.

I know it may sound ridiculous, but it can prepare you for a distant future when Val Kylx has to retire. It can also help you write a creative RP.

Scrap that, Birolika's idea is awesome.

That might be the first time one of my ideas hasn't been met with the response, "Fine, but where are you going to get all those yaks from?"

Valery Klycks

(No offense intended Slem.)

Basically, the greatest player in all of Swyftlandian...no World History. Valery Klycks (Val Klycks for short) started life working as a waitress in a beat down roadside Restaurant The Golden Fork which topped only Five Customers per day. The food was no better either, Spam Burger & Chips or Chip Burger & Spam and free can of Year Old Coke with every meal. The only upside to the job was the annual company Football Match between the Two Sole Employee's, Sal the Coffee Man and Val Klycks. Val Klycks was masterful at the sport, winning games at an average of 1453-0 and has been receiving the Swyftlandre Women's Best Player Award for the last 23 Years (despite the fact she's only 26 Year's Old). Eventually, she was swept up by the Swyftlandian Football Confederation and immediately summoned to play for the Swyftlandre Women's National Team for the Women's World Cup where they won (It happened it some Multiverse :P), all thanks to Val's early goals. [Fun Fact: Her Earliest Goal was at only 12 Seconds.]

She was considered so brilliant that the S.F.C has decided that she would join the Swyftlandian Team but that wasn't enough, why should she need those other player's weakening her and weighing her down and so it was decided that she would play for the Swyftlandian Team alone.

Meet Shaun Nakamura. Born of a Licentian mother and Kirigawan father. Journalist, writer, coffee-shop regular. Whilst sitting in his regular spot, he's about to get a nasty suprise

"Football? Really?"

"Yes. You need it. You've been doing nothing but working on your "novel" since you got sacked from the Shinya"

"But I hate football. It's noisy, it's complicated, and most of all, it's boring. It's like Twilight, they run around for 90 minutes and no-body scores"

"Swish" says the coffee shop attendant without raising his head from the machine.

"Well whether you like it or not you need the income. Your flower-arranging won't make you enough."

"I'll have you know I have three weddings AND a funeral this month. They're big jobs"

"Yep. Sure"

The man threw a small envelope on the table

"Plane tickets to Swyftlandre. A card loaded with Ѻ1,000,000. Car keys & a city map."

"I'm not going anywhere. I'm getting somewhere in my novel. I can feel it"

"You're going. Plane leaves tomorrow at 5pm"

******

Shaun hurried down the busy main street of Moto-Shanza, the third largest city in Kirigawa. People moved about like shoals of fishes, not really going anywhere, just moving to and fro. Solely there to get in his way. Evenings were never good times for Shaun. If it's after afternoon, it's evening as far he was aware. The small side street where Shaun called home was just off one end of the street. His block was sandwiched a supermarket and a nightclub. A vicious combination. His two bedroom flat was position right in the middle of the building, with just one single building looking down onto the miserable little "garden" that was actually in the middle of the flats. He unlocked his door mand set his keys down in the dish on the credeneza that dominated the small hallway leading to the two rooms of his dingy flat. He walked to the kitchen/dining room/living room and turned on the TV. The room smelt of damp, and he ignored the ever largening stain on the ceiling. The TV was showing some football match, FC Moto vs Kazamaki Advance. The tiniest interest for football was spurred in him when he watched Moto play. His home town always sparked belief in him, whatever they happened to be doing.

He'd just gone out for a few minutes to grab some last minute things for his month-long trip to Swyftlandre to write for the Okaza Sports website, and his taxi was ariving in 30 minutes later. He was making last minute checks on everything in his flat. Unplug the heaters, put anything worth keeping in freezer. He hurried around the flat like a concerned bee. After much scurrying, the taxi arrived, and he hurried down with his numerous bags and ran out to meet the driver.

It had just started snowing, and the light flakes danced in the swirling wind and bounced off the windscreen. as the car drove steadily down the motorway and they headed for Matari-Natazuki International Airport. Despite the countries relatively small size, it was a gargantuan airport, and a nightmare to navigate. The taxi dropped him outside departures, and he found his way to the EasternAir desk. The smiley assistant, fresh out of college it seemed, checked his bags in quickly and he hurried off again to find the security.

******

"Would everyone please fasten their seatbelts for takeoff?"

Shaun was sat next to a window, right in the middle of the plane. He had his table down and was writing on his laptop. He rubbed his temples and breathed out.

OK Shaun, you can write this

Kirigawa to set off CE campaign against former rulers

It was 43 years ago last month that Licentian forces finally won thier three-year campaign against the Cyborg Dutch rulers in our country. Now, for the first time ever, we will meet them again. Not in the field of war but in the field of sport. The two countries have been drawn in the same group for the approaching Campionsto Esportiva. They will play each other on the first matchday. Cyborg Holland came third in the last edition, beating co-hosts Sakhovelo 1-0 in the 3PPO. They are ranked fourth in the region, whereas the Blossoms (us) are unranked as we debut here. Our midfield will be very key for our success against both Cyborg Holland and our other group mates, Earo (an Island chain in the far west of the region) and Baz Mat. Commanding the show will be young star Kirima Natansuka of the Endo Knights, who has great control and ability. Alongside him will be veteran Shibata Orayama of FC Oporro. They will look to challenge the Cyborg players, which we see as a bit unfair. But hey, the Dandish Empire have just a RocketZOMG v 1.4.5...I believe I spelt that right. And the hosts, Swyftlandre, have just one player in their side. A girl, no less. Kirigawa are inexperience, but there are high hopes for the team, who would very much like to qualify for the second round. At least...

Ares-y-Penthesilea

The twin emirate at the mouth of the River Nekron is sending a team made of reluctant academics. Not know for their athletic prowess or even their hand-eye coordination, it is nonetheless thanks to the efforts of enthusiastic extra-curricular activities organiser Kain Aristarchus that they find themselves here. In an ambitious program of physical activity that somehow made it past the executive committee of the Dual Universities Administrative Facility, Aristarchus was given the power to enforce students onto his keep-fit programs, believing that physical health will promote mental health and therefore, marks.

In a moment of high spirits, he signed up all the staff of the universities as well, believing it would show solidarity with the students. And whilst this was not necessarily a popular decision, the teaching staff went along with it, and this squad is made of those members of either Ares of Penthesilea University that are, unbelievably, still yet to fulfil their credit obligations for the module.

Despite this not being their first CE, they don't have much hope.

GOALKEEPER
Prof. Hilarion Ismael - Professor of Urban Studies, 66
Surprisingly nimble for a man of his age, hates undergraduates with a passion.

SWEEPER
The Minotaur - Chief Librarian, 3495
Half-man. Half-bull. All-bastard. If there's one thing this master librarian hates more than students who don't return their books on time, its attackers who get past the defence. Be warned.

LEFT BACK
Hyacinthus Petros - Graduate (Political Science), 31
One of the few here who can actually kick a ball to its intended target more than 75% of the time, but would much rather mutter about red flags and plan revolutions.

CENTRE BACK
Prof. Melanthios Andronikos - Dean of Faculty, 56
Has become rather a fixture in the smoking room as of late, and perhaps they are hoping his sheer mass presents an obstacle for the opposition to at least avoid running into.

CENTRE BACK
Dr. Lykourgos Jehovah - Provost, 76
One of the more enthusiastic members of the team, its a shame he's essentially deaf and can't see without his glasses. Which he insists on taking off to play.

RIGHT BACK
Anatolios Jehoiakim - Undergraduate (Events Management), 24
Deferred his final exams several years in order to pass this exercise module, can most often be head shouting "It IS a real degree!" at those who tease him. Which is the entire squad.

LEFT WING
Prof. Nikodemos Straton - Head of Philosophy Department, 51
Has blistering pace as far as academics go, so as long as Aristarchus keeps him focused on the game in hand on not some deeper question, he could be trouble.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD/PLAYER-MANAGER
Kain Aristarchus - Physical Education Coordinator, 40
Perhaps not as fit as he used to be, the enthusiastic physical education coordinator is nevertheless the only one here who knows anything about the tactical side of the game, and therefore will be player manager.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD
Nikos Seitaridis - Janitor, 19
Often found in the early mornings with his mop in one hand and piece of chalk in the other, solving equations that the professors left on the blackboards overnight. Whisper it, but he might actually be quite good at this football thing, if only he could keep his mind off those equations.

RIGHT WING
Dr. Livianus Democritus - Senior Lecturer (Psychology), 87
Practically a fossil. Dr Democritus will need severe lubrication with whatever spirits you've got lying around to keep him going onto the next match. The stronger the better, hell, he'll quaff down WD40 if he has to.

STRIKER
Athena - God of Wisdom, Ageless
Some crafty so-and-so sacrificed an owl or something, and so Athena popped down to say hi. Apparently she's a bit of a bitch when crossed, so expect to see some lethal performances.

KITS
HOME - AWAY

He looked up, timed his run, and smacked it, as hard as he could, in the direction of the goal. Chris has been under performing for a while now in competitive football matches, and it was his time. He looked up, just in time to see Joseph Farmer make a miracle save to deny him a goal. He turned, clearly angry, and began to trudge back to mark his mark, ignoring the calls of encouragement coming from around the pitch.

It didn't matter if he'd tried hard, he needed to score goals, to help Apox win, to help them win the CE. That was the official goal of the team, however, it looked unlikely, especially as they were ranked 16th in the regional rankings. They needed to do better this time, and now was the time to start. He thought of the recently retired Ken Rickwright, watching on from the side along with John Grigia, both men urging the side on.

Joseph Farmer kicked to ball out, to his man, Bob Fred, who he quickly stole the ball off. He shimmied past a hapless Triimorian defender, and as he was approaching the edge of the box, he hit the ball, not to hard but with that slight deftness required to score. However, when he hit it, he knew something was up, he'd sliced it slightly. As he fell, he saw the ball hit the post, and then hit the side of Will Fich's head, and bounce in. Will had scored. His goal. Chris was fuming but managed to go over and give Will Fich a congratulatory hug. Not that he needed it, his place in the side was guaranteed. He turned, and jogged back to the half-way line, still not fully satisfied.

Ten minutes alter, he was subbed off.

"Mr. Grigia, how do you feel after that match?" asked an eager journalist sat in the front row.

"Well, it was quite a slow start, and it didn't help having Triimoria score early, but we came back and were probably unlucky not to take the win in the end. So, I think, although there's work to be done, it's still not a calamity. Yes, you." he finished, pointing to journalist slouched in his chair at the back.

"There has been talk that your offense hasn't been gelling well with the new setup, do you think this will affect your results?"

"First of all, I don't have a problem with our attacking game, the forwards move up and play the ball well, and our midfielders are normally there to support them. At times they looked a little ragged today, but after a couple of sessions on the training field, I'm sure they'll become a tight unit. Yep, next."

"You moved the formation around to deal with the amount of goals you were conceding, will letting in two today worry you?"

"Possibly a little, but not something I'm overly worried about. Our defense has been pretty well overhauled, and they need time to gel as a unit. With the demotion of Chris Neguwa to the bench, Oley Williams and Dan Weekes will have to make sure they keep it watertight at the back. However, we tend to play against a lot of attacking teams, so they are under pressure a lot, which gives us a chance to show off our defending. Thank you for your time." he said, as he stood up and made to leave.

National team follow on from club successes with 6-2 win

The national team will have to try hard to match the club teams this season, especially after the Ministry of Finance won 19th Century Beards' first footballing trophy, the most recent Campionato Esportivano di Campeones, and finishing third in the group stages of the Globe Cup. After yesterday's performance however, they have no need to worry.

It was a rather down and overcast day for 19th Century Beards' first CEIV game. Rain looked imminent from the dark grey clouds hanging overhead. No such clouds for the 19th Century Beards' team, who were raring to go and looked it as the whistle blew. The team had a fluidity that they appeared not to have before, playing long, direct passes from one wing to the other with relative ease. And this isn't because the other team is no good, they scored two goals and were rather unlucky to have conceded six.

The first scoring chance came at around the 5th minute mark, Edwards shot from outside the box being palmed wide. The resulting corner was intercepted by Patagonian goalkeeper, who managed to grab the ball before Lewis Kingston could head it towards goal. The Beards continued to press but the Patagonian defence was keeping them at bay. Kingston had a shot which went an inch or two wrong side of the post and Miller played a perfect cross to the head of Turner, but he managed to nod it into the 'keeper's hands.

Finally the breakthrough came after 10 minutes, Kingston running up the right wing, dodging a couple of defenders then scoring from a tight angle through the 'keepers legs. A magnificent solo effort from the young winger to put his team in front. The lead was nearly doubled 2 minutes later, Blake Wright's thunderbolt rocketing back off the crossbar, then falling to Sandra Wright, who sent it sailing over the crossbar.

After a couple more half chances it was 2-0 by the 23rd minute, Charles Miller tapping the ball in from his brothers cross. At the other end, one of the Patagonian strikers testing Lucas Jones with a fierce shot that ended up being well saved by the 17 year old. He was once again put on his toes by a close range shot from a corner, but that was cleared away by Charles Watson. After a period of dominance a Alta Patagonia goal was inevitable, and so it came approaching stoppage time, a header from a needlessly conceded corner going unnoticed by Jones.

19th Century Beards' pressed for the remaining 5 minutes of the half, Alex Turner having an effort cleared off the line by a Patagonian defender, and a Kingston shot spinning well past the post. At half time, the score remained 2-1.

The second half began largely slanted in the Beards' favour, and they quickly took the lead through a penalty. Charles Miller was tripped in the box by a Patagonian full back, and the referee pointed to the spot. Miller stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 3-1 to the Beards. There was almost another goal as his brother Jack missed a sitter of a chance, which would undoubtedly cause him some embarrassment.

He redeemed himself quite quickly, as he provided the assist for the Beards' 4th goal, around 10 minutes later, where he did a accurate long range pass to Edwards, who rounded the goalkeeper and ran it into the goal. Before this Edwards had had two long range shots tipped over the bar.

Alta Patagonia wanted to show that they wouldn't go down without a fight and began to attack, having a shot punched out by Jones, and a misplaced cross acrobatically tipped over the bar. Patagonia's second goal was finally scored in the 73rd minute, a cross hitting Adrian Jones' back and going into the goal, surprising Lucas Jones who was focusing on other areas.

The final 15 minutes were all 19th Century Beards, who scored their final two goals in those minutes. The fifth goal came from Jack Miller, who applied the finish to a fantastic move involving 7 members of the team. The final goal came was Charles Miller's hattrick, and the best goal of the game, a 25 yard screamer which flew into the top-right hand corner.
